Does exactly what I wanted it to do. Most blenders have a wavey edge but this one has a flat edge all the way around enabling me to ‘trap’ the egg within the head when making mayonnaise. Very happy with i

Melted around the blade when blending a hot soup!! Complete waste of money. Do not buy as it falls apart in your food without warning it just melts and falls into food. Very disappointed.

Can’t see any faults with it!
Other reviews have said it warps if put in boiling food I wouldn’t do that anyway as there’s a risk of it spraying hot food around and burning someone!

Bought this to replace my old blender when the switch broke. It is excellent. It is often a disappointment when you replace something quite old with a newer version so I was pleasantly surprised

Bought this ages ago and only had to replace as I dropped it in water and did not want to risk plugging back in. Anyway I have dropped the blending section many times and although on made of plastic it stood up to the treatment. Blends well and is easy to clean.

It gets the job done for me. I use it for soups and it’s super easy to clean and maintain. The power cord is a good length and the blending power is more than adequate. I can’t complain about it especially not at this price point. Would recommend.

  30. LawrencBucher says:

For a start, no smoke’s pouring out of it and it doesn’t give me any electric shocks, so it’s an improvement on the one (from another manufacturer) it replaces.
I predominantly use it for making smoothies, as my jeans had seemingly shrunk in the wash, and the two speed blender is a boon for some of the concoctions I throw together. If the mixing jug’s a bit full, the slower speed ensures nothing splatters anywhere, then the faster speed finishes off any reluctant chunks of fruit.
The detachable blending unit is very easy to clean, which is not always the case, so that should ensure no odd tastes for a bleary-eyed breakfast.

This item is the prefect masher fo mash potato and baby food. My hand are becoming more and more deformed with arthritis of the bone and muscles that trying to use the old madh potato method is now impossible. But with this Russell Hobbs food blender my life is now transformed.

First of all, I use this to mix soap batter. It’s a gooey mixture that often has mica dyes in it. That means it needs thoroughly cleaning after the event.

As a mixer, it works a treat. It’s has a good balance in the hand, it’s powerful enough, although you wouldn’t use no near a sleeping baby it’s not the noisiest piece of kitchen equipment I own by any measure. All good.

However, the guard around the blade is a pain in the arse to clean. Rather than have a solid guard shaped in such a way to allow the flow of liquid away from the blades, they have cut holes in the side of the guard which just makes it needlessly awkward to clean. The only downside, but an annoyingly unnecessary one.

  35. Anonymous says:

It works amazingly well, But be warned if you use it in a Pyrex Jug or similar container like i do them dont!! pull it up too high through the liquid whilst your using it or it will splash out over the top. It’s so powerful even on speed level 1 and it has a Speed level 2 as well lol. I’ts Brilliant. I wish there was a proper Russel Hobbs container i could buy to put it & the stuff i’m mixing in so i dont get any splashing out of the Jug. But I’ve learned to keep it at the bottom of the Jug and just let it do it’s thing. My Scrambled Egg never tasted so good 🙂

For the price, this is great. Two speed function is good. I like the strong plastic as I can use it in my nonstick pans and dishes so don’t have to worry about scratches etc.
Easy to clean – really don’t understand other reviews that say it’s hard to clean …. just use a sponge and brush if necessary. Simple.

This blender is perfect. I’ve used it with both cooked vegetables and meat. It blends to a nice consistency and I have made many soups with it. Also great to quickly mash up veggies for toddlers. It’s easy to clean and the blade does not seem to have dulled. A must have blender for the kitchen. Highly recommended product!

  46. Manslaughter-Andy says:

     United Kingdom

Fine with me, does exactly what I need it for, that is veg soups, milkshakes and smoothies.
Quite powerful, I seldom need to use it at the max power.
Much heavier than expected. It seems sturdier than the toy I thought it was, judging by its price.
However, I’m quite cautious about using it to preserve it:
    – I never use it in very hot immersions (warm can be ok, hot is bad).
    – I don’t run it for an extended time, as this can damage the motor. I limit the blending to 30-sec intervals, stop it for a couple of secs and go on this way.
It’s not super-easy to clean and sometimes you must stop it and use a spoon to clear the gaps around the blade.
Yet IMHO it’s a good product, versatile and easy to use. Hope it will last.

To start with I really liked this product. Blended soups really well however as time has gone the rubber under the blades has started to go and is causing issues with it. I would be cautious about buying this product because of this.

  49. Anonymous says:

Very disappointed. After approximately 6 uses, the plastic ‘seal’ beneath the blade appeared to be coming away from the lower half of the blender, the product fell apart in use after that.

  50. Anonymous says:

Effective and easy to use. Haven’t had it for long so can’t say if it’ll last as it is a cheap option but seems good value for the price.

I was sceptical about purchasing this after reading some of the negative reviews but thought for the price it was worth a try. I think it’s a great product, sometimes hard to clean – but aren’t they all? As for the comments around the weight of it, there’s a motor inside it – what do people expect? I personally love this blender and I would recommend to others.

I use this blender purely for mirror glaze and I would not buy it again. Too heavy, buttons hard to press especially if you have some nails, super loud and tip is not too long. For any other cooking I think it’s ok and powerful but for stuff I am using it for not really good thing

on first opening, it seemed the two parts werent fitting together, but on further inspection, it seems you need to find the sweet spot where the two parts lock together. on trying it, it works just grand. thanks to the delivery lady, lovely friendly service.

  54. Anonymous says:

A bit flimsy but does the job. I use this to blend soups only, so the power is enough. An ok product having in consideration the price, but a but flimsy and not sure how long it would last if you were to blend other things such as meats.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI really like this product. It is helpful. I tested it on the ground oats and on frozen fruits. Usually, I use the fruits directly from the refrigerator. I am using the blender only with the first speed and it is enough. I really recommend this product.

This was bought to replace a much loved and ancient predecessor and it got off to a bad start as three of us struggled to get the two parts fitted together .However, once this had been achieved it functioned well and produces excellent soups and purees

I can’t believe how powerful this blender is. I had a Kenwood for many years and the Russell Hobbs blender is supersonic in comparison. I’m loving the 2 different speed options.
I would definitely recommend this product.

The instructions say this blender is easy to use for people with restrictions. I don’t have restrictions. I just found it tricky and stiff to put together and really hard to take apart. My husband can do both but he has a good grip and strong grip.

Bought as a replacement for a previous blender that we had used for many years. Didn’t want to spend too much money. This seemed value for money. So far all is well. Used at least once a day to make fruit smoothies. Used on berries, bananas, apple and apricots. Nothing harder.
Works well. Easy to attach parts (although can be fiddly at times). Feels solid.
Cleaning is easy – particularly if you do it immediately after using.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am frankly, puzzled by some of the more bizarre reviews of this item. The heavily discounted price would not buy couple of pints of beer
in London these days. It is sturdily built, handy to use and made an excellent, restaurant quality potato pure from basic ingredients; in a matter of moments.
It comes with a booklet of instructions, which is there for a reason. Provided these are adhered to, this blender should give good service
    for a reasonable time.

Nice and easy to use. This is easy to clean after use, easier than previous model. I have used on some quite tough items and it has handled them no problem. Smoothies and soups are back on the menu after my trusty blender of 15 years died hopefully this will serve me as well. Worried after r reading negative reviews if I should purchase but as we were in lockdown I decided I needed something and am pleased I did.

Great product. For the price has great power and 2 speed options, although I mostly use the slower one as it is enough and perfect to blend smoothies and soups. Easy to clean as you can detach lower part. Much better that the one I had before! Definitely recommend.

  64. Anonymous says:

This is straight forward enough, it blends with two speeds and is easy to assemble and dissemble. Clean the detachment with soap and sponge then a quick rinse under the tap and leave it to dry out. Used for making soup or smoothies and eggnog, all good. Mixing beaker not supplied but a large container will work, we use an old plastic chocolate drinks container, works a treat. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI originally bought this to blend cat food for a 20 year old cat. It was great fro that as fitted in a mug so caused no mess. I thought it would be dedicated to that for hygiene reasons but it is so easy to clean I could use it for my food too. The bottom half detaches and can be easily washed or soaked in soapy water.
I’ve since used it to mill roasted coffee beans (again in a mug!) and it works! Of course this isn’t the ideal use for a hand blender and a coffee bean mill would be better, but it does prove how versatile it is; and for the low price its perfect. Thank you.

I had a similar one for years, but this one is so much better, the head can be washed out easily as it is detachable, very easy to clean with no hidden sections. makes great baby food, creamed potatoes, soup, grinds nuts and dried fruit for cake mixes, and great milk shakes and oat smoothies. Lovely pasta sauce and fruit bases, At the price it replaces lots of other equipment I would normally use thereby a good all round space saver. I even make cakes with i

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSimple product but very useful and economical. Easy to clean in a dishwasher (although cleaning by hand may be fun around the blade). I use mainly for whipping cream which is so much easier than my old electric whisk with two beaters. One small gripe is that it takes a few attempts to fit the bottom section onto the top section, as it needs to lock in place and there are no clear markers.

  71. Anonymous says:

I cannot believe what great quality this blender is for this price. It is powerful, blends frozen fruit in a smoothie every day and keeps strong after been in use for over two months of frequent use now! Hope this will last me for a long time! Easy to clean also, I just rinse it in plain water immediately after making the smoothie and everything gets right off so no need for washing up liquid!

  72. Jared DiPane says:

Before buying it’s worth bearing in mind that it’s only 200W which is at the lower end of the scale of wattage. Bought this blender mainly because of Russel Hobbs’ reputation. When blending soup with it it took somewhat longer than other blenders I have owned, and half way through I paused when I noticed that motor was getting hot. I guess you could say that you can’t complain for this price. If I’d be expecting to use it heavily I would have invested in a more powerful model

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have given this 5 stars because really does making cooking a lot easier and reduces the need to chop tomatoes before adding them to the pot. It provides very good consistency in the texture of sauces and I can’t fault it for functionality and overall value. Definitely worth the investment.

My partner was unconvinced at first but they use it a lot now.

I bought this specifically to whip whipping cream or egg whites – which this one cannot do! I tried multiple times but you must need a whisk attachment for that – but ended up keeping it because of how well it works for blending soups, making pesto, making smoothing, etc. I prefer this over a regular blender because of how easy it is to clean and how it doesn’t take up much space in our small kitchen. I never realized how much I would use this until I got it, and now I’ve been using it all the time. It even works for blending up nuts (I had cashews in a curry that I was blending and it worked perfectly). Very pleased!

Perfect product for just 10! Features a slow and fast speed for blending unlike most brands with just a on and off button. The only negative I can see so far is the fact you have to hold the button down as it has no lock! I brought this as I have started making soup and blending direct on the hob is some much easier than transfer to a separate blender. I would recommend 100% getting this product!

It’s a nice and cheap alternative to many blenders on the market and does the job quite well. I normally use it for crme soups, olive paste and sometimes smoothies. Never had an issue with cleaning it, as it’s easily detachable from the motor and only has a single set of blades. I’ve had it for roughly two years now and it’s still going strong with weekly use. Note that I bought it on sale for a tenner.

It’s fairly big but it’s easy to clean and it’s plenty powerful enough to make soup! Might be an idea to boil all vegitables before trying to blend them, I’m sure the blender could do it but it’s probably better for it to boil them first!

It’s great to see one of the highest rates appliances also being one of the most affordable. This hand held blender did exactly what I needed it to do when I cooked up a butternut squash and carrot soup the other day. You have to be careful not to lift it too high as it’s powerful and can cause a circular splatter across the room! The highest setting would likely be suited to a larger bowl of soup. It was too high for a smaller one. Would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a hand held blender, it’s one of the best.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI bought this because I lost my other one and had to spoon soup by the ladle into a blender which often led to me getting scolded by hot soup, which would often end up all over my kitchen.

This is honestly a game changer. I no longer have to clean an entire blender… I just take this bottom thingy off the top thingy and give it a good rinse and its perfect for the next use. It blends my soup smoothly and leaves no giant potatoes randomly astray in the pan amidst a sea of soup. It hasn’t warped like my last one either and I’ve had it for a few months now. I have no idea how it happened but this ones an absolute unit of a hand blender and i couldn’t be happier.

I dunno man, you know you’re getting old when you get excited about a hand blender. 11/10

I’ve been using this to make smoothies for the past 2 months and it does it with no problem even when using fruit that is frozen solid. It easily comes apart making it easy to clean the blending blade and tip.

My only issues is when I use this in a jug with a small amount of liquid or low viscous liquids like water it spins a bit too fast on the slowest setting and causes the liquid to splash out. Works best with 3″+ of liquid.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love this, I use it to make baby food and oat milk. It does the job very well. I will be honest and say this is my second blender in a year, because the first one broke into peices. What happened is the seal around the blade wore off, and food started getting inside the machine… which I used to bang over the sink to get it all out after a good soak. Rotten food in by baby food! Eventually with all the banging it packed in and went its own way in 4 peices. I’m not taking off a star for this because I realised this was exacerbated by me continusouly leaving the blade to soak in water. So with the replacement I clean it immediately after use and so far it’s holding up very well. Amazon were so helpful in giving me a replacement, within 2 days I had a new machine

    I really like this blender,
I’ve found it so much easier to store, use and wash up than a larger blender. I have had it for quite some time now and it seems good as new to me. I’ve blended soup and smoothies with it.
It’s supposed to be better to use a hand blender like this for smoothies as it creates less oxidation and leaves what you’re eating more nutritious. Just make sure you fully immerse the blender in the product you want to blend.
If I were to buy another hand blender in the future I would maybe opt for a metal one over a plastic one though, otherwise, I love it!

This item replaced our previous Russell Hobbs hand mixer which was over 20 years old and had performed faultlessly. This one feels a seems to produce the same results. EDIT. UNFORTUNATELY THIS BLENDER IS NOT UP TO BEING PLACED IN HOT LIQUID. DOING THIS MELTS THE SURROUND THAT THE BLADES SPIN IN.

Well, wish I’d read more reviews:
“It has a detachable shaft for easy cleaning and also comes with a 500 ml beaker for practicality so if you want to get cooking and baking here is the blender to help you get started.” Nope, no beaker. Not a deal breaker, just terribly annoying.
Only just received, so not tried it yet, but feels quite heavy. Will be interesting to see how it works.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBought this for my husband who’s having to mash up his food due to an illness. It works better than the liquidiser we have because he can mash his food up but still retain some texture. The only downside is that it has to be handwashed but that’s not a great problem as it’s only the blade end. Handy product for the daily use needed at the moment.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersI bought this last February and it’s been in frequent use ever since. It weighs just under 1kg, which is, for me, a bit on the heavy side for a 200w blender. Like all wand blenders, it did feel a bit cumbersome until I got used to it.
I didn’t have any trouble clicking the leg to the main body, but found it difficult to detach afterwards, so I just leave the two parts connected.
For a 200w machine, it feels pretty powerful. Two speeds and a pulse function which are easy enough to use with thumb pressure.

It’s very fast and efficient. The cutting blades are well protected by the surrounding casing, and when plunged into a tall sided container, do a very good job of pureeing soft, cooked fruit and veg for soups and smoothies.
As a last resort, I even used it once to blitz soaked, whole almonds to make nut milk when my ancient jug blender packed up. It made a good job of the almonds, but I didn’t like to run the wand for more than a minute as I didn’t want to risk overheating the machine so the nut pulp was a bit coarser than I’d normally like – but it did it without a protest.

The blades clean up really well with just a whizz in soapy water, and the outer casing is easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
This wand is mainly used for blitzing creams and emulsions (which is what I got it for) and it does a really good job, reliably and in super quick time.
It only lost a star because it feels a bit clunky and needs a bit of practise to get the hang of it. It is a tad noisy, but not uncomfortably loud.
This is a good, inexpensive wand blender which has lived up to its expectations.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been using this for a few months now and it has been performing well. Although very loud, I haven’t had any problems and the mainly use this for making quick smoothies. Considering the low price, this is a really good product and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it anyone.
