Q: Can you use it without the light?
A: Yes. Whether you’re in purifier mode or dehumidifier combo mode, you can turn off the blue light
Q: Can I turn off dehumidifier mode?
A: Yes you can use it as just an airpurifier. But you CANNOT use it as a dehumidifier alone. Purifier mode needs to be on for the dehumidifier to function. I prefer it this way because if my humidity goes below 30% (not recommended), but I still want to use the purifier function, the option is there. I prefer to have an air purifier on as much as possible.
Q: Does it dehumidify?
A: I bought a humidity sensor to test this. Before turning on the dehumidifer, the sensor gave me a reading of 50% humidity. After turning it on for an hour, the reading went down to 47%. My humidity level now sits around 32% after a week of having it on and off (see my image).
Additionally, during that same time period of a weeks use, the tank was filled with 200ml of water. I’m confident it works.
Q: Is it loud?
A: On high fan speed, I measured it at 51 decibels at a normal distance. Up close it measures at 60 decibels. I’m fine with this as I like white noise and enjoy sleeping with it on at max power. There is also a detectable low hum in addition to the fan noise.
Q: Any other useful bits of info?
A: The power cord comes out of the unit from the side, because the water tank is at the back.
So do I like it after a week of use? I do. It suits my needs as a compact dehumidifier/purifier combo. Most of the other products on the market around this price point looked unpleasing, and I didn’t want to double my budget to get a Meaco for my tiny bedroom. In terms of doing it’s job, it’s decent both as a dehumidifier and an air purifier. But it makes up for just being decent with its relatively compact size. I would say it’s designed well aesthetically, but the low quality plastic brings the looks down a little. My Levoit 300s looks more robust and expensive, because it is.
I like that you can release the lid of the tank to give it a proper clean (see my image) because some dehumidifers out there don’t allow this, which raises the danger of mildew forming. You can thoroughly clean the tank with this one. Well done Russell Hobbs!
It is missing some features that other dehumidifiers in this price range have. For example, it doesn’t have a humidity sensor built in, and it doesn’t have any automated features hence why I bought my own cheap humidity sensor so that I know when it’s time to stop dehumidifying. I would have liked an app to control it remotely but this would have likely raised the price of the product over 100.
Overall, if you’re looking for a compact unit that dehumidifies and you don’t already have an air purifier, this is great value for the price. I’ve knocked off one star because it’s not the highest quality build.

I recently purchased this product, and I’m thrilled with its efficiency. It excels in delivering impressive performance, making my tasks much easier and saving me valuable time. I would expect them to have been the same, just rated for different sized rooms, with them being in the same listing, but no, they are not.
I used it daily for about 2 weeks due to condensation everywhere and mold forming. Within these 2 weeks the tank was almost full proving that this worked. After 2 weeks less and less water was filling up and no condensation on the windows and the mold was completely gone.
Having had an internal wall built and plastered, I needed something to help dry out the new room, ready for decorating and furnishing. I didn’t need anything big or expensive and during a search on Amazon, this popped up!
It ticked all the right boxes and the Russell Hobbs brand is normally solid. It’s been working non-stop for about five days but only fills the water tray to 300ml per day, NOT the 750ml claimed!
To fill to the claimed level, the air must be ringing wet, perhaps in a laundry room?
The registration information sheet that comes with the unit, tells you to register the product within 28 days, to gain a second years guarantee. It also implies on the RH website that a photograph of the receipt is necessary…it isn’t, and the serial number too – which I’m not sure I found as the designation (S/No) wasn’t marked!
On completing the registration, I only had the option of clicking one of two boxes. Box one was for the standard one year guarantee and the second box was to PAY 14.99 for the SECOND years guarantee! No other option!
DON’T DO IT, just select the standard one year’s guarantee, and confirmation of the second years guarantee will be sent to the email address you supplied!
So far I’m happy with it…it’s working okay, but I do wish that it would EXTRACT the full 750ml per 24hrs and not just absorb some! However, it’s reasonably priced and cheap to run (47watts per hour @ max), so it’s a keeper.
Absolutely fab. Noise level is fine dont notice it unless on high then its no bother. Easy to move as light weight. Easy to empty collects 400ml per session and turns off when full. Love it worth every penny.
Stopped working within weeks. Unable to return. Started making a terrible noise and unable to turn off without unplugging. Used to be a reliable brand name but on investigation being used under license. DO NOT BUY.
In the winter I have to dry my washing in my spare bedroom which results in condensation and some black mould. Since I bought this small dehumidifier the situation has vastly improved and everything has dried far more quickly. It seems to be very economical on electricity too which is a real bonus.
First of all I dislike the blue light as it’s used in the bedroom where I like total darkness. Otherwise it collects plenty of water and the filter helped my sinuses greatly. I do switch it off at night as it’s not the quietest but, still helps me and don’t have half as much condensation on the windows in winter!
This will not match a compressor dehumidifier but the purpose it was bought for was to stop water and mold from building up on a bedroom window sill. For that it works fine. It collects around half a litre a week (two empties). I had no expectations that it would come close to the advertised 600ml per day, but it does the job.
If you want something to keep a house or flat damp free, then buy a compressor dehumidifier that will easily pull 2+ litres a day, and cost a bit to run. If you have a small damp problem in a small room, then this will fit the bill. Cheap to run, very quiet (easy to sleep through), and should stop any damp from building up.
Our boiler was replaced and its heating output via radiators is phenomenal. We used one room to dry cloths because of the recent cold weather. So moisture has to uo somewhere.
We put this on and I was astonished how much moisture there actually was in the room. It does exactly what it says it does. The ro felt dryer and the air quality did also feel better.
Don’t be put off by the 1l container. This product is superb.
As for the purifying aspect, I can tell you it certainly removes the smell of farts, but has a lesser effect on dust, but still an effect.
Very neat & tidy, ideal for a small room.
Maybe little noisy but not too bad.

The third dehumidifier that I own. It’s probably the most attractive but not the most efficient. That said, my other two are bigger and consume more electricity so it’s really going to depend on room size and the dampness. You really need to close the window to appreciate the full effect, otherwise you’ll be just sucking the water out of all the air coming in through the window. What does favour this one though is the added air purification. I’d recommend this for a smaller room such as a bedroom. I actually use my other ones for my laundry room but this is smart enough to take a place anywhere in the house. A nice option that looks good and modern.
The unit is relatively small and easily manoeuvrable, but this also means a smaller tank capacity for the dehumidifier to hold the water. It’s just a trade-off, and one I’m happy to make. Just need to empty the water more often, but at least the unit is compact and out of the way when not needed.
When the tank is full, there’s a light that shows it and the water pushes up a trigger to stop the unit, which is good for safety measures, although this is pretty standard. Dehumidifiers have come a long way and this is definitely an improvement over the first unit I used, which was a lot bigger.
Not exactly perfect and there are a few kicks to this.
The first is the noise. Low is quiet, but not silent. High is just loud, very loud. Also, pressing the buttons is very loud too because it beeps. I could really do without the beeping sound when the buttons are pushed, because it will and it did wake other people up in the house in other rooms, and needless to say, if you share a room, it will definitely wake them up, since operation is more than a single button press. Even turning the unit off takes more than one press on the power button, so when you want to change the settings, from high to low for example, in the middle of the night, it’s not ideal.
Can be used as just an air purifier, but can’t be used as just a dehumidifier. Somewhat of a downfall, because it would be nice if both can be operated independently. Not a major issue, but nonetheless should be noted.
Emptying the water tank isn’t the easiest. Pulling it out is easy, but the water tank is designed in a very strange way. There’s a lid with a hole in and the lid fits on weirdly, so it spills easy. Take care when tipping out the water and make sure to do it over a sink or drain.
The yellow warning sticker about getting all the contents out before first use is awful to peel off. This sticker is only necessary for a brand new unit that’s never been used, and they could easily use one of those easy peel stickers to alert customers, but no, they choose the worst kind of sticker possible. I tried peeling it off and the top layer instantly tears, leaving the bottom paper layer glued on. Absolutely horrible sticker, so I’ve just left it on, but this taints the stylish unit as there is just an awful sticker stuck to the side of it.
Final complaint is I don’t know where to get replacement filters when this one’s done. I’ve tried looking, but without an exact model number for the filters, it’s not the easiest to get replacements for.
89.99 isn’t a bad price for one of these units, and it’s definitely recommendable.
My son has severe eczema, which is not related to any food but it is from dust, dust mite etc. I used this device and I can feel the freshness in his room. Moreover I have noticed his less itching in the night, so definitely it is working.
My only criticism is, its a little too noisy for children room, he can’t sleep with that sound. So I run it for 2 hours before his bed time, still works out well for us.
Overall this humidifier works in a similar way to most others I’ve tried – as I live with a COPD sufferer we personally love knowing the air is clean as it helps prevent irritation. Aside from the air purification this unit also works as a humidifier, which was the main draw for me as our house does suffer damp especially during the winter months. Having had this on for the past couple of weeks it does seem to reduce the amount of moisture in the air and so with even longer use I can see this being very beneficial in preventing damp spots/mould.
The only real downsides for me honestly were that it isn’t the quietest unit I’ve used, I can sleep with it on but I don’t mind white noise as it tends to help me sleep, very light sleepers may find it a bit too loud. And I think they missed a trick by not having a dehumidifying option as a stand-alone, I don’t mind so much as we really always unitise the air purification but think this could’ve been a great option.
Overall a sleek device in a much more compact design than a couple of others I’ve owned, it works very well and the price is great in my opinion.
Update: after less than a week, the dampness on the wall has disappeared. Very impressive results
This is a compact dehumidifier & air purifier in one. Most on the market are quite bulky & take a lot of energy (expensive to run) & thus not energy efficient. Although I haven’t been able to compare energy usage, due to size , should be less.
I’m really impressed by its lightweight & portable design. The one I have us very heavy, about the size of a small side table & not easy to move from room to room.
For a start, it’s by a well known brand. In half a day, I got half a litre of water & I’m really impressed. I have to see over time how we it performs. However, I could really feel the difference in air quality. Air was fresher & cleaner.
It also has an H13 HEPA filter to remove 99.95% of unwanted air particles, so you can breathe easy.
Thus is an ideal candidate for asthma sufferers & those with breathing difficulty.
Good value for money & very useful for UK homes as we have a lot of humidity.

I really love how i can feel the air circulating around the room with this on, i also have definitely noticed an improvement in air quality. It makes the air feel fresher like that of taking a countryside walk.
This machines primary function is as an air purifier since this option is required to be on and can’t be turned off to use the de-humidifier solo. But normal de-humidifiers draw in air anyways, so why not have it purified in the process? This is a great machine.
This machine is pretty robust if you happen to accidentally knock it. The water container is made in such a way that water won’t go everywhere if knocked over. It’s easy to slide out and empty too.
The dehumidifier does work at taking moisture from the air which is great. Less moisture equals less black mold ect. It does work very well but can’t compete with larger bigger capacity de-humidifiers however not everyone has such high humidity indoors as to warrant the use of a large capacity de-humidifier and in such cases one of these is ideal. I think the best way to look at this machine is as an air purifier with additional benefits.
This machine definitely makes a big difference to air quality. It is only close to silent on the lowest setting. But i like it on medium or high to really feel the air circulating around the room. I am a lover of white noise though and have often found white noise to help me and my partner drift off on a night. But if you don’t like white noise you may not like this on medium or high as it does make some noise.
Overall i am pleasantly surprised with how well this performs. This is a good quality product from Russell Hobbs.
I put this in a little bedroom that I didn’t consider to be damp just to try it out while I got used to the fan noise, I only had it on low.
The next day I decided to see if it had collected any water, I expected maybe a little puddle in the bottom. I was astonished to find 200 ml in there and this is from a relatively dry room. Wow.
So I can positively say that the dehumidifier works very well. The next day I put it in our bedroom. I emptied the water collector again. This time I got 550 ml, that’s amazing. I have had a cheap dehumidifier before which took weeks to get less than that amount of water, I passed that one on to a friend as it wasn’t very good.
This also helps with pollen, dust and cigarette smoke so if you have allergies or someone in the house smokes then this is for you
The price is competitive for this type of product.

Things you need to know.
The filter is easy to install but you will need to take it out, unwrap it and put it back before use.
Easy to empty the water collector.
You can have it on either dehumidifier and air purifier or just air purifier, you can’t have it on just dehumidifier and it has low, medium and high settings.
You can have it with a blue light or you can switch the blue light off if you have it on air purifier. There doesn’t seem to be a facility to have it without the blue light when the dehumidifier is on.
You can hear the fan, I’ll keep it on low until I’m used to it.

It is lightweight but I would say that on the highest speed it is really loud but for what it is doing & my daughter said she hardly hears it at night so this is not really an issue. I really am so happy with this product & would be confident to recommend it.
This is such a fantastic 2 in 1 Dehumidifier that is not only compact but also lightweight making it easy to transport around the house.
The Fresh Air Pro has an auto cut-off function when the tank is full, so it can operate without needing to be monitored.
There are 3 speeds which can be used however I have found I don’t really need to go above 1 most times.
I sometimes find it hard to sleep and this has really been helping.
I absolutely love it and have noticed huge differences.
Would 100% recommend and feel this should be in every household

I’m I live with this machine! Omg it’s amazing… where has it been all my life haha. First off the machine is Russell Hobbs branded, so you know the quality is already there. Arrived in a nice sturdy box with simple instructions to follow. Unboxed the item is roughly the same size of 4 x 2L bottles of pop places in a square, so fairly large but no but it’s got to be for processing the air! Now onto the purifying aspect, there is 3 levels from quiet mode which still produced a sound, but best if you’re sleeping, then setting 2/3 which processes the air quicker but has got a noticeable sound to it! There is also a build in blue led light which is cool if you like a nightlight (if planning to use a night) but can also be turned off. Built into the machine is also a dehumidifier with a 1l tank. You can run both together or one at a time. I had mine on for 24 hours and it actually collected half a tank full of water! I was so amazed as I didn’t realise the room was slightly damp. Overall I’m not to bothered about that part but I’m loving the purifier. Within literally 12 hours of use it cleans the air and you can notice it smells instantly fresher! Especially in a slightly muggy room with the windows not being opened due to winter! I honestly love it so much. I’m getting one for the living room haha.
This Russell Hobbs combo dehumidifier/air purifier is surprisingly smaller than I expected, in fact it’s a stylish little addition to home without looking like an eyesore! It filters and dehumidifies the air around your home so you can be sure you’re breathing in cleaner air, perfect if you have allergies or such! It’s surprising how much moisture it actually catches around my home, the water tray soon fills up with water I had no idea how humid my home actually was!! It automatically cuts off when the tray is full to avoid being overfilled.
It will also be perfect for anyone suffering with damp or condensation in their home, it quickly draws the moisture out of the rooms and helps maintain humidity levels whilst purifying the air. It’s quite a quiet fan but I wouldn’t say it’s silent, if you plan on using it in your bedroom I would recommend the lowest setting, any higher is probably too noisy for sleeping.

This is a great little compact dehumidifier.. It is compact enough for a small room and light enough to transport between rooms if need be. It comes with clear instructions on how to operate it, where the filter is and when to empty the water tank. There is a low level hum from it but overall is quiet. It is a good product and even after only an hour’s use you can feel the air is cleaner and fresher. It is a little expensive for the size but I definitely think in the long run it will be worth the money to breathe easier and keep damp at bay.
I was looking for a compact dehumidifier to use upstairs at night and this is perfect.
On the low setting it’s quiet enough to sleep without being disturbed.
The Air purifier is a bonus.
Lovely neat dehumidifier and air purifier. Really simple to use, not very loud, easy to sleep with it on low.
There are three speeds to choose but I’m happy to leave it on low and just let it work away.
I always get a lot of moisture in my home and this is helping to keep the air more balanced so healthier.

This is a neat, good looking, 2 in 1 Dehumidifier/Air Purifier
It is lightweight and can be moved around the house very easily.
It has a built in filter, which I haven’t quite got the jist off yet, but I will !!!!!!
I like the automatic cut off button, which works when the tank is full of water, so that it will not burn out.
And just as important it looks neat.
I brought this mainly for the dehumidifier, but it’s actually more of an air purifier and you can’t turn that off – you can only decide whether you want to use the dehumidifier option as well.
However, it’s a really nice, modern looking product and suits really well within my bedroom, the noise isn’t too bad, i have it on low and it sounds just like a fan although on medium and high it can get quite noisy.
The led lights are a really nice touch and i think you could go a couple of days with the dehumidifier on without having to empty it as i’ve had it on 24 hours now and it’s around 1/3 way full.
