If you have a really muddy drive way this would be really useful, otherwise the most I’ve used this for is to clear snow from pathway outside of the house.
We have used this brush to clean our deck which has grooved wood slat panels. We get a lot of slim and moss in those groves which makes the deck slippy. This brush cleans it very well. We highly recommend it.
Used once it’s not bad but still requires more effort to weed any patio and if you hit heavy weeds with it the rubber guard folds in the wrong way so for the money it’s only about fai
I purchase this tool in May 23. The tool works well but it has one design fault. The none drive end wheel has a plastic on plastic bearing.
After a period of aprox 6 hours use,it was found that there was 7mm slop on the wheel .On closer inspection it was evident that the ingress of stone dust was acting as an abrasive causing wear on the plastic bearing.Approached Ryobi Tech support which didn’t seem to be that concerned.Stated that Amazon were responsible for the warranty.I may go down that road .but will probably modify it myself.
Easy to assemble and use, did exactly what it was intended to do with great results. I would suggest ordering a spare wire brush as they do wear away with use.
Overall an excellent product.
Did a really good job on my patio, even with my 18 year old batteries I got a good 25mins out of each battery and very little wear on the wire brush, I can now keep my patio slabs clear of weeds with regular cleaning and little effort.
This is really good. My husband wanted it as our patio is terrible with weeds everywhere. It came today and he tried it. Every single weed has gone!! The Ryobi tools are great but I honestly didn’t think it would be this easy to get rid of the weeds. It’s easy to use and did not take long to finish the job. Definitely recommend.

An alternative, less physical, instrument was what I needed and had a look at various makes but was attracted by Ryobi because one of their batteries fits so many different tools made by them.
This was my first Ryobi purchase which arrived today and I have used it already so this is a ‘first impressions’ review.
First, the cost. At just over 100 it seemed expensive but it seems solidly made and think the price is justified.
Second, battery. It is important to know that this comes without a battery. Ryobi describes all their tools without batteries ‘bare’ tools and so, if like me, you buy a first Ryobi tool you must buy a battery. I opted for the 5.0 Am for maximum power and duration. Thirdly, a mistake! I naively assumed that with these two items I was ready to start clearing the weeds between my garden slabs. Wrong! The battery needs a dedicated Ryobi battery charger. I ordered that today for delivery tomorrow. The charger cost 48.00+
Total cost now 263+
First use: the battery was partially charged and so I was able to use the tool without having to wait for the charger. There is no doubt that this Ryobl make sturdy machines – at least judging from this patio cleaner. It is powerful and made short work of removing the weeds, moss etc., that had sprung up in-between the slabs over the winter (how to weeds mange to grow during the winter when nothing else does!?).
The weeds are ‘dug up’ by a high-speed rotary wire brush (see picture) and although this worked well because the soil was damp it soon became clogged with soil and garden detritus. The plastic guard surrounding the wire brush soon became filled with soil etc. which put a bit of a strain on the motor. If the guard was wider that might solve that problem? Of course, not using the tool when the ground was so damp might also help but by then the weeds would be that much bigger!
Conclusion. Thus far, I am impressed with this ‘weeds in between slabs remover’ (Ryobi calls it a ‘Patio Cleaner’ which is a tad misleading) and think it is far better (for me at least) than using a hand tool.
The catch is that the cost of these three items was more than 250, and is, at first glance ridiculous. However, the point in buying Ryobi tools is that one battery fits all their products whether it is a drill, fan, sander or lawnmower (there are over 100 tools in the range) and therefore the cost of a battery reduces dramatically for each additional tool you buy – but then again you are pretty much tied to Ryobi products for that reason. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you…
I bought this tool as it was on special offer. I had been looking at it for months. I have several other Ryobi tools that all use the same batteries. Replacement wire wheels look expensive though.

Keeps my artificial grass clean and plump. Battery lasts long enough to do the complete garden twice. Very easy to change cleaning heads.
So far it has made a good job of it.
Certainly easier than scrubbing, but found it surprisingly heavy and hard on batteries. You really need one of the more powerful batteries rather than the smaller ones that come with the drills etc.
Saved a lot of back breaking work removing moss and lichen from our driveway. Will be using again this weekend to remove built up soil on the driveway.

It has reinvigorated my grass. I go over areas in a circular motion and its worked a treat for my flat law
We have over 300 x 24″ slabs throughout our garden, inherited from the previous owner. There are gaps everywhere. Small cracks attract weeds and the time spend weeding, repairing pointing, weed killing etc was getting ridiculous.
Strim any high weeds then use this INCREDIBLE tool!
Very quiet when running, the wire brush removes weeds in no time! So light to use, even the laziest gardener could use it.
Friends calling round? Patio looking a touch weedy? No trouble at all! So effective, really wonderful results.
BEWARE though as the metal brush may leave marks on your stone, so do test it first, but it’s much more effective than power-washing.
Soft brush the weed debris after you are done and voila! Job done!
No more back-breaking, knee punishing work, this tool is immense.
Price? How many hours on your knees is this worth? How much did you spend on weedkiller? Weigh it up, but if you want a tool that absolutely does what it says it will, is virtually effortless to use, then look no further.
It’s difficult to say about battery life. Depends what battery you have in at the time.
1.5 will last about 20 minutes.
It won’t pull up the deepest of weeds. But if you need to trim the small ones. It does the job 🙂
This saved me many hours on our brick paved drive. After you get into a rhythm it’s very efficient at removing plants and moss. I cleared out triple drive in a bit over an hour. 5amp battery still had plenty of charge at the end. The only downside (and it’s quite a bit one) is that the wire brush was worn right down by the end of it and replacements are expensive! Cater for this when buying and you won’t be disappointed.
I purchased a bare unit no battery as I already own a 6 Amp battery.
The unit works well the copper blade could benefit from being a bit thinner otherwise easy to use and does a great job
Although I bought this direct from Ryobi I felt I had to write a review as the top review on Amazon for this wire brush patio cleaner is from someone who tried to use it to clean the tops of his brick pavers, whereas it is in fact for the gaps between the brick pavers.
It has done a brilliant job cleaning the mud and weeds from between my pavers with no scratches.
My area is large (about 100sq metres) which took a few sessions to complete. A charge on the larger battery (4.0 Ah) lasted about an hour. 2 hours to fully recharge. The tool is light and the handle is height adjustable. I did need a replacement brush to finish the job.
So if you have a larger area get the bigger battery and have a spare brush ready. Clear any tall weeds first.

Hi there’s nothing to dislike about this product,it arrived the day after ordering so once again Amazon excelled themselves,as for the product,what an amazing tool,I put one of my 8 batteries on it,5.5ah(I have some in different power strengths),clipped the wire brush attachment to it and the roller guide on the other side ( both effortless)to attach adjusted the handle and telescopic shaft and was away,I was using it constantly for over an hour and the battery continued to run perfectly,it made and effortless job of clearing the weeds in the block paving,and also the edges of the kerb stones on the road outside the house,I cannot praise this tool enough,it’s transformed what was a chore into a pleasure as I was looking around for any weeds to remove from anywhere,. Another superb tool from the brilliant Ryobi company I only wished I’d known about it earlier, thoroughly recommend getting the tool it saves a lot of backbreaking work,so once again a big”thank you”to Ryobi.and a big”thank you”to Amazon, couldn’t manage without you.
This is a good idea and does the job – up to a point. The wire brush does scratch brick and stonework although I doubt that the effect lasts too long. However, the finish is not quite as good as the ‘two in one patio brush set’ sold by Amazon for 10 which, in my opinion, gives a neater finish. The rotating wire brush on the Ryobi certainly takes less effort but does tend to scratch ( not too much) and it is difficult for it to get down deep enough into the crevices to give a really clean finish. Good idea though and quite effective.
Easy to use make sure you have a pair of wellys on because your feet will get pretty dirty.
It eats up the moss and weeds from between the monoblocks and flagstones. Two years ago I spent a fortnight with a
little wire brush on the end of a shaft doing this job, it took the next two weeks for my shoulders to
recover. This time I did a much better job in just two days with no recovery time needed. I was worried about
the brush on this machine, but it lasted much longer than I expected.

Lightweight easy to use cleaned block patio front drive with ease
Makes keeping the gaps in the paving slabs easy work. I have a few ryobi products so have a 5 amp hour battery which enables me to complete all in one charge. Would recommend this tool.
Although I like this brush it is very heavy I wouldn’t recommend for the elderly or anyone with a bad back saying that I use mine from my wheelchair and it’s not to bad to work with its heavy even before you get the battery attached I bought the brush only as I already had a 2 v battery and seams to last a good while I cleaned the fake grass for 3 quarters of an hour and still had charge I use it to fluff up my fake grass and clean the flag stones..a tad expensive for what it is

Works really well to remove moss and small weeds from block paving. Battery life is pretty good as well. Some care is needed when using the wire brush attachment as it can leave scratch marks, the nylon attachment is less aggressive but will wear down pretty quickly though. Great results otherwise!!

Not quite as back breaking cleaning the block pathing now that we have this tool. We already had a Ryobi drill so we have two batteries anyway that work, and the path cleaner was bought whilst on offer. Not sure it would have been worth the full price, but i’m happy with it for what we paid.
Not fully tested in anger yet but early trial suggests it is effective at what it claims to do.
