There’s nothing to be used to fix it in a metal bed grama, it comes with screws for wood and tools to assemble. Other than that is great.

Great product. My only comment is that I wish the manufacturer supplied screw head caps – I found the screws catch underneath of the mattress.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI chose this for my 2 year old granddaughter’s bed primarily because of it’s safety features….
It is also extra wide and extra high and has a safety gap to prevent the risk of strangulation. I will be able to use this for several years. It is easy to assemble and fits perfectly onto the wooden base slats of the bed. All that is left to do is to secure it to the base with 2 screws although it already feels very sturdy and secure with just the single bed mattress on the top of it. A nice looking and well made product.
Easy to dismantle when not in use. It stores away nicely under the bed.

Bought this in white finish for my elderly mother in law as, while the stainless steel mobility-type ones certainly work, they look like hospital beds. This was easy to fit, keeps her safe and looks very stylish. She is very pleased with the look and we have peace of mind she won’t roll out of bed. Although the box says ‘safetots’, she is around 5ft and a petite 9 stone, and this works perfectly. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought 2 of these, a standard height and a tall one for the high Kallax bed I’ve built for my granddaughters.
They are perfect. Superb quality, look great but most importantly they feel solid and my 4 and 6 yr olds felt really safe in bed.
    Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI spent ages looking for a rail that was large enough in length & height but also aesthetically pleasing. When it arrived I was not disappointed! I bought the extra wide & extra tall natural wooden rail which looks fantastic in our bedroom:) It was super easy to put up, only took about 15 mins. The quality is even better than expected so I’ll likely buy from this provider again! I highly recommend!

    Absolutely LOVE this!

Works ok and easy to put in. Does the job but seems expensive for what it is. I got this as I liked the size and it is longer than most bed guards. Wish I looked elsewhere for a cheaper version though.

The rails add height to fall from. When the rails are on and the boy wakes up, he falls off the rails and knocks himself unconscious, puts himself back to sleep. With the rails off, he rolls off the side of the bed and cries really loudly waking me and my wife. Three cheers for the extra wide bed guard

Looks good and performs as it should. It does cause a slope under the mattress (toddler foam mattress) sure this wouldn’t be a problem with an adult mattress. Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe ditched the sidecar crib (glorified bedside table) and searched for a bedguard of some sort instead. We came across this one and bought it due to its size and because it’s wooden and looks a lot nicer than other ones we’d seen. This was the only one we saw with a decent height and width to fit an adult bed as opposed to a toddler single.

It arrived in record speed! Super easy to assemble and install, and incredibly sturdy once secured. I conciously avoid leaning against it in case we weaken it, but in honesty I have woken up squished against it and it hasn’t budged at all. We’ve been using it for about a month and I wish we’d had never bought the crib and had gotten this from the start. It has saved so much space in our bedroom as we no longer need a separate sleep surface next to our bed taking up valuable floorspace. As our baby is still young we don’t position him next to the rails for nighttime sleep as it’s recommended to not do that before 18mo following the user manual and safe sleep advice. For now he goes between us following the Safe Sleep 7 (cuddle curl!).

Bonus points for being a great place to hang muslins for easy reach during the day 10/10 product, literally cannot fault i

    Absolute game changer for co-sleeping

The room we currently have is quite small the cot bed we brought had 3 levels, when using at the highest level there’s a lot of space under the cotbed. However, the space would get covered if we used the bedrail that came with it as it went all the way to the bottom.

So to ensure I got the space underneath I ordered this to fit my cot bed which is 140cm in length and it fit so perfectly that it’s unbelievable.

This product was so easy to fit. It is amazing and it literally was a product that I thought I had made up in my mind to exist.

Best purchase made so helpful and give us the extra space for babies stuff.

We have an IKEA bed with removable slats so the rail is just slotted under the mattress (we bed-share with our baby) however we’ve had no problems of sturdiness and the rail looks very tidy as if it’s part of the bed itself, much better than the fabric ones.

Going forward we will secure the rail as instructed for safety reasons. We also use with a triangle cushion which sits under the fitted sheet to stop baby rolling into rail seen as they are so young still.

My husband did struggle to assemble it as one of the pairs of holes was drilled in totally the wrong place as it turned out, once he realised he drilled them himself and it was easy from there, needed that night for a guest or would have returned for a replacement, however it’s steady, looks great and a year on none of the paint has chipped. Robust enough to keep adults in too when we have to get in with our daughter and she pushes us to the edge of the bed, great to have this keeping us off the floor!

Husband assembled this but it seemed quick and easy to do. We’ve taken it on holiday and used at grandparents houses. It is sturdy to a degree but because it’s collapsible it does wobble and bend when pulled towards you, so wouldn’t want a child standing up and rocking i

  44. Michelle Resendiz says:

It’s well made and very easy to assemble, although it required screwing it into the bed slats which I wasn’t keen on.

It’s very stable and looks more attractive than the plastic and fabric ones on the market.

One negative is the base under the mattress is quite thick and the Angelcare movement monitor doesn’t work as well as the mattress is lifted off the base of the bed for half of a single mattress.

I co-sleep with my 2 childern and I needed something to prevent my 8 month old to fall of bed (I was using next2me cot as bedguard but it wasn’t safe anymore) . I got this extra wide and extra tall one. It’s very sturdy, attached to bed slats with 6 screws. There is no dangerous gap between guard and matress. Installation was fairly easy, I did it myself, took me 15 minutes.
    Definetely recommend for cosleeping.

Really pleased with this side rails. I would recommend getting the extra wide and extra long as when you have a climber it is worth having something safe. The only thing is that it does move backwards and forwards when rocked (as children do) even though we have it screwed to the bed like recommended. Otherwise I am really pleased with this purchase.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe recently moved our child to a toddler bed and decided in advance to get a bed rail as he is a wild sleeper. This one looks great with his wooden bed and is very sturdy. My only concern is the thickness of the part that goes under the mattress. I hadn’t really given it any consideration, but it is very thick. Good for safety, but I am a little worried it might damage the sprung mattress over time. If you only have a thin mattress, the child might also be able to feel it when they lie on the bed. I also decided to use alternative screws for the safety brackets that fix into the bed slats, as the supplied ones were very long and would have stuck out the other side of the slats a long way which I thought could be dangerous. Not a big deal as I had some at home, but something to be aware of.

This is a great length. It’s sturdy and you have the options to screw it to the bed which is what we have done to achieve the height and rigidity we wanted. We were surprised how our toddler did not climb out of bed at night despite the fact she could have done so easily. Would recommend for any appropriate toddler bed.
This is not portable so for travelling you should buy a foldable portable bed guard.

I’m really impressed with this bed rail. With our first we bought one from Mothercare that was a plastic frame, mesh/polyester cover and it was awful. It looked awful, wasn’t sturdy and didn’t fit a toddler bed properly. So for our second I wanted to make sure I found a good quality one. This one is excellent quality, sturdy timber, well made, easy to put up and put down and the paint finish is good quality too. We use ours to travel with so kept the box and use cable ties to secure in place instead of the clamps it comes with (a good tip from another reviewer on here). I’m really pleased with it and the standard length is very good for adult size beds too, our toddler has to go a fair way to get out of bed! We used it for weekend and holiday trips now and only wish we’d found it for our first born 🙂

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMy son was very premature and I never left his side once home, eventually I put him in his cot in his own room but I felt anxious as despite being just over 1 now he still sleeps so much so I wanted him back in my room some of the day as I nap when he does so I spent a long time choosing the perfect bed rail for my king size bed so we can nap safely during the day, I am amazed how long it is and sturdy, because I have a extra thick mattress it’s not as high as it would be with a smaller bed or mattress but I’d definitely recommend this one, I know my son is very safe and that’s all that matters and definitely worth the money, a must buy x

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am very happy with this barrier. It’s sturdy, moves a bit, but it’s expected since it is only hold by a mattress (mine is very heavy). My son jumps on it and it’s keeping him save. My mornings are much better since we bought this. 😉

There is no oil or wax on the wood surface, which I think is perfect, but some may what to know that.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersReally nice bed rail. With ease holds my 5 year olds weight, it is quite sturdy. No real assembly required as it is already put together as a single unit. It comes with screwes that you can use to attach the rail to beds matress boards, which i found pointless as my daughters bed is quite deep and has big matress – that is what holds the rail in place. If i had to nit pick then my only complaint would be the size, as for daughters bed (which to be fair is big and will last years to come) it does not cover the whole bed and leaves quite the gap at the bottom bit of the bed. The real good thing however is – my daughter stopped falling out of bed while sleeping – which is the only real thing that maters.

Great for what it is meant fo

Easy to put up but had to use our own larger screws. It came with tiny screws that wouldn’t hold anything in place, similar issue with the stair gates. Black writing on outside which is annoying also. But it’s safe, looks smart and overall happy. Just make sure you have your own screws!

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersDelivery was super quick!

Our son has cerebral palsy, and currently cannot walk, so we needed a longer bed guard than a standard toddler bed fitting one because if he fell out of bed he wouldn’t be able to help himself back up.

(Although this is designed to fit onto a wooden bed, we slightly cheated and used cable ties to hold it in place! Worked a treat.)

There is a minimal gap either side of the guard, but not enough to cause concern!

It was really quick to assemble, two bolts and done, and as you can see leaves a good 20cm from the mattress to the top of the bed guard. (I measured it too!)

Perfect length - does the job!

  72. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Looks sturdy enough I added a couple of extra screws to be on the safe side. As you can see in the picture doesn’t look like much space is left and the mattress is 19cm as recommended but it does squash down and minus the quilt so when you lie down it will add extra depth (I did personally test it so seems okay but time will tell)

Personally could of done with a few extra cm as the next size up is the large which is 60cm which would of looked a bit silly

Pretty decent it was hinged so saved messing abou

    Does the job I guess

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI like the product, it looks good. Considering you can pay near the same amount for a fabric type one the price is great in my opinion.

To assemble all you have to do is screw 2 bolts in with the Allen key provided, it takes a few minutes.

I fitted ours to a cot bed and it doesn’t raise the mattress it fits really well.

The only problem I have had is with the screws provided that secure the rail in place so it doesn’t slide up and down the bed. They are just too long so I cannot screw them into the bed slats without the screw coming out the bottom under the bed. I’ve temporarily had to leave these loose so I can buy shorter ones. It is still fixed but the screws protrude out the top (where the mattress is).

This is the only problem I can see with it. Annoyingly it is an extra cost and journey just for 4 small screws so I would ask the manufacturer to look into this as it is a safety concern after all, some parents might not notice and leave screws poking out the bottom. I’ve added photos of what I mean, the screws are not screwed in fully in the photos and have started to poke through.

Otherwise overall the quality of the product itself is great, it’s sturdy and looks good. The screws are the only thing preventing a 5* overall from me.

Great product. One tiny problem for me!

Bought to match my daughters white bedroom furniture. It’s true white in colour. Fitted onto my toodlers single bed, where you attach it onto the slats. We adapted it slightly so it was even more secure, by also screwing it into the bed. I’ve since bought another.

Great quality item. Does exactly what we wanted and fits 3/5 of a large double. Instructions are pretty basic: you can bolt into the upright position if you want. Works well with our thick mattress without having to use the supplied clamps. If the mattress is thin and lightweight, these may have been needed.

  76. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt is a sturdy and attractive bed guard, although the wooden piece that slides under the mattress is as thick as the visible upright guard section, so I think it could cause a lump and be felt if used with a thinner type of mattress. We have used ours with a standard thickish mattress and it seems fine, but some of the children’s cot-bed mattresses are thinner and it might not work so well with those. Also, the bed we have has a small upstand surrounding the mattress, which we had to push hard to get the guard to sit down inside of. However, it works well once in place.

This is a fantastic bed rail and fits my daughter’s cot bed perfectly. It has a gap at the bottom to allow her to climb in and out easily but not fall out at night. It looks so much nicer than some of the fabric ones available and is much sturdier. My daughter ripped a fabric one within a week of it being on the bed. It’s a nice height and secures to the bed easily. Very easy to assemble as it simply folds down and then you can secure it to the base of the bed. It literally took less than five minutes to put on, we were very very impressed! Highly recommend! Fast delivery and worth every penny!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHad read mixed reviews on here and was preparing for disappointment. However, was pleasantly surprised! Bed guard is solid wood and evenly painted grey – no chips or marks to paint work. Super quick to assemble – 2 mins flat. Attractive item and looks good on the bed. Sturdy, safe product, am very pleased. For the money, I think it’s very good value.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLooks good and fits the bed nicely especially the length, fits a single nicely leaving.a small gap near the end of the bed to crawl out or for Mum or Dad to sit on when reading stories.
I think it’s expencive for what it is and we could have bought a cheaper type but we wanted it to match the bed we bought and it does. So can’t complain.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have used this product for over a year to keep my disabled child safe in a standard single bed, we have also taken it on holiday with us. My child can roll, but not stand or sit up, this product stops him from falling out of bed and is very sturdy.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWorks well on our toddler’s single bed, even though the mattress is quite a high one. Length is also perfect for the standard single bed. So far also very robust – toddler has an ultra low bed and likes to climb over the rail instead of using the entrance gaps. Has been doing this for four months now and rail is not wobbly yet!

Does what it says on the tin. Unfortunately, we are using it with a good quality adult mattress in a cabin bed when our 3 year old grandson comes to stay and he is only an inch or two below the top of the bedguard when sleeping. Although I think this still would be adequate to stop him rolling out, we use pillows down the leading edge to be on the safe side. I would have loved the guard to be a couple of inches deeper but I suppose that would be very high in a cot bed with a thin mattress.

Looks lovely and works well. It is a decent size and very sturdy. I have used it on my own king sized bed while co-sleeping for a while and it is now on my toddler’s cotbed as she is not quite ready for the side to be taken completely off, but I was finding lifting her in and out over the full height cotside hard work. We have an Ikea Gulliver cotbed and this fits leaving about a 2″ gap at either end.

The only way it would be better would be if you could somehow flip down the side so that it didn’t have to be completely removed from under the mattress. But I guess that would bump the cost up quite a bit or make it less sturdy.

We did have a problem with the first one that was sent, but this company’s customer service was second to none in dealing with it.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersReally handy as slightly longer than some guards – my daughter kept climbing out of her cot at 17 months! So needed to put the cot bed into the bed but as she was still quite young and moved a lot in her sleep ( you put her at the foot of the bed and she ends up at the top of the bed then back to the foot again) so I needed as small a gap as possible this really did the job and helped me sleep better knowing she could fall out – but could still get out if she wanted without climbing!
Only downside is there’s nothing to connect the guard to the bed it just slides under mattress which was not secure at all as it would slide out too easily when my daughter climbed in and out if bed so I fastened to bed slates with cable ties

It also made the mattress lift slight at one side so it sloped also abit annoying but didn’t cause my daughter any problems and on the grand scheme of things it kept her safe in bed -nth us was the only one I could find with a decent length and the look was less tacky than most bed guards you find

    I would recommend

Bought this for our 3 year old on moving to share bunk beds with his older brother, and very pleased with the result, it fits well, is a good height/length to provide safety/security, and looks good. We also like the fact that whilst you can screw the fixings in to the bed, the guard works perfectly well without them and saves you the hassle! The colour of the guard also matched the wood of the bed we’d bought perfectly, which was a bonus. All in all we are very happy. The one criticism is that because the two ends of the guard do not sit flush with the bed slats, the base of the mattress bunches slightly at each end, but not so much that it is very obvious or noticeable when lying in the bed.

I have bought this product after returning a Babydan Wooden Bedrail which was a potential safety hazard. The screw came off the rail after 3 weeks’ use and as it is a pressed up screw, it could not be fixed. I am quite concerned as I found 2 year old daughter playing with it and she could have chocked on it if I did not see her on time. I am happy to say that the Safetots Bed rail does not have this issue as the screw is safely fixed in place and if it is loose, you can tighten it up. There were no instructions sent with the product and it was badly packaged but the product itself works. It could have been cheaper especially when you are also paying for postage.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI agree with the review that says this is a little wobbly, but that doesn’t stop it doing the job, and I’m so pleased to have found something to use on a double bed. All the other bed guards out there seem to have a piece that goes all the way under the mattress, but only works if the mattress is no wider than a single bed, or they don’t work with slatted beds. This bed guard is easily removable when the double bed is in use by adults (it has brackets that can be screwed down onto the slats, but the base seems to go far enough under the mattress for that not to be necessary, my 19-month-old is not going to roll into it with such force that she flips the thing out from under the mattress). This is exactly what I was hoping to find when I decided to look for a bedguard, I didn’t realise it was going to be so difficult to find it.
