This is my second purchase. This oven gets used everyday and the last one stayed working for five years. Makes simplicity out of cooking. Took one star off as it was left on my doorstep without the delivery man even ringing the bell..how bad is that !

I’ve had no problems with rust or stains.
I would suggest that after cooking the oven the door is left open to allow any steam to escape, and when oven has cooled to wipe inner surfaces with kitchen tow, to remove any moister left.

I bought this as I live alone and am mainly cooking for one, but actually it’s pretty spacious. I’m very impressed with the evenness of browsing and cooking, better than my main oven. I’ve roasted chicken, slow cooked a half shoulder of lamb, roasted veg, cooked cottage pie. All to perfection. The pizza from frozen was also impressive. Oh and it toasts bread very well too.

Our previous counter top cooker tended to burn croissants etc due to the proximity of the heating elements.
This one works very well for chips, baking. pizza… proper cooking and no burning, also must more energy efficient than the full oven.

Well worth the money. It takes a fraction of the time to heat up we are so pleased we bought it. We have cooked everything in it. We found that the toast function isn’t great so what we do is use the grill function to make toast and it works a treat. I would recommend it without hesitation.

I decided to get this since I mostly cook for myself. I use my larger oven for batch cooking and now use this counter top unit for re-heating (so far). It’s extremely efficient and very simple to use – I really wish that I had bought one sooner.

Comes equipped with various accessories, is compact enough that I think it would easily be accommodated in any domestic kitchen. Ergonomically it’s very well thought out – and it looks good too.

I like how fast and thoroughly it cooks compared to my conventional oven – and I suspect I will save energy in the long run as a result.

    Highly recommended.

Love it so far but guess time will tell on it’s longevity! Impossible to register product with Sage as they suggest the bar code and product code is tagged to a European based item ! So that’s a bit of a worry going forward, but I’ll let you all know in the future !

I really like this wee worktop oven. Plenty of functions, easy to use and it does what you ask if it. Only thing that could be improved is to provide either a basic cookbook explaining what each function can be used for. I tried cooking frozen, breaded haddock fillet and it took 2-3 attempts before I found the best programme for it.

Nice sturdy oven. Very easy to use. Only cooked a pizza on the pizza setting and grilled a pork chop so far. Both turned out very well.
I timed how long it takes to get to temperature and it averages around 4-5 minutes even up to 230C which is much better than the 15-20 minutes a large oven takes. I like how the shelf moves out as you open the door on the middle shelf position.
I have stood a stainless steel cake rack on the top and use that as a plate warmer.
The top and sides do get hot so it needs a good gap left round it.
It could do with a handle for the grill pan, but fortunatley the one from my big oven grill pan locks onto it perfectly.
Overall very pleased with it so far.

    Very Pleased

My husband and I wanted a powerful, versatile and easy to use small oven to avoid using our big oven when we are only the two of us. This oven is perfect for the job. Powerful and quick. We are very pleased with it and I would recommend it without hesitation.

I really love this little oven. The controls are so easy, completely self-evident. No instructions needed. You can grill, roast, bake, reheat, toast etc. The oven looks great in stainless steel and comes with shelf, pizza tray and grill pan. It’s quite fast. I love that the door opens downwards which means it takes up far less space on the counter top. One brilliant little detail is that when you open the door, the shelf automatically slides out a little, making it really easy to access your cooking. It is very robust and well made and I hope to get many years use of it. It wouldn’t really be suitable as main oven for a family, but it’s perfect for me as I live on my own.

Impressed so far after a few weeks. Great functionality. High quality design and operation. Cooks well and predictably. For one or two (maybe three) people a good alternative to a full size oven. Bakes, roasts, grills, toasts, reheats and slow cooks. I like having it wall-mounted at eye level. Had a microwave before but never liked it. Controls give one clear precise and understandable settings. So far it seems very well thought out.

I had a Sage oven for many years with no problems. Eventually I needed to replace it with a new oven. Due to that fact that I had been totally satisfied with my I decided to replace it with another one It does every thing that I need, it is so versatile and very reliable. Recommend to anyone.

This is a great little oven and beautifully designed, which would be even better with a more in-depth user guide. It’s a bit of a struggle to start with but I got there. A recipe book with details of which buttons to push for what dish you’re cooking would be useful. Although the handbook does cover some of that it’s really not quite enough. I’ve looked on utube for demos but nothing other than a promotion. However I have only had it for just over a week and have managed roast chicken (which I did using a roasting bag to save fat splashes), roast potatoes, toast (excellent) and scones. It’s going to be a great extra to my large oven I’m sure.

So pleased with this. It’s perfect for one person and really safe. It sits on my work surface so no bending to lift hot, heavy items out. I can set a timer which starts automatically once set temperature is reached and switches off automatically too. It heat up quickly and is about the same size as a microwave. I have cooked everything from toast to a slow cook. It lost a star on cleaning as it does pick up finger marks. I would definitely buy it again.

I love everything about this oven – it’s simple, intuitive controls (no manual required!), the way the shelf comes out automatically (via magnet) when you open the door, the many different cooking modes, the fast heating, the timer, and relatively big size for a mini-oven. I bought one for my elderly mother, and it is the only oven she uses now – when i visit her and cook for her, it is the oven I use too! I am so impressed I am going to buy one for myself…

This was expensive compared to the hallogen oven I had been using. I have a cooker, but needed something smaller for when I require a small meal. This oven has not disappointed me in any way. I use it most days now and it does everything that my oven does with less time and less consumption of energy. I think this is a really good buy and is very well built and can cook anything! I even make my toast in it on a morning now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy old built in oven still works, but is in need of maintenance, however it is much bigger than I need most of the time and judging from the cosy feeling I get when cooking with it is horribly inefficient.
Reviewing options, this Sage oven seemed to be a sensible alternative for my needs – usually just me but capable of feeding more should the need arise.
I picked it because it was well liked by existing users, appeared non-flimsy and you can buy spares if you manage to damage a rack or pan!
The more expensive air fryer version might have been interesting if I didn’t already have an air frying capability, but at currently over twice the price I couldn’t justify buying it, an Amazon comparison suggests it can cook a 14 lb chicken as opposed to the 6lb limit of the one I bought, not sure that a 14 lb bird wouldn’t be bigger than the oven…probable typo.
In practice – very solidly built, the shelf positively latches into position and cannot wobble let alone fall out.
The door, base(crumb tray), back and all external surfaces are easy to clean. The sides are a bit more fiddly because of the solidly built runners for the rack, the top is a mass of heating elements, so not really accessible.
The included accessories are excellent quality.
I managed to knock a lot of the enamel off the roasting tray but managed to get a replacement rapidly and inexpensivly from the manufacturer. It accidentlly got thrown on a stone floor – nothing withstands that. Strangely it was only listed as a spare for the air fryer version, but is identical.
Functionally, it cooks well. The inside takes a much bigger joint than I expected and if your frozen pizza is bigger than the supplied pizza tray just put it on the rack.
It has heated crumpets, roasted beef and gammon, grilled barbecue pork slices and several other typical jobs.
It cooks very evenly – a frozen pizza came out with a nice crisp crust and the toppping just the way I like it. My old oven tended to overcook the top and needed it to be turned half way to get it even.
All in all it has performed well so far, you learn what is best cooked in the tray and what is best placed just on the shelf.
For a long time I was suspicious as to whether all the elements were functioning, but I eventually managed to be looking at the right moment when the system decided to switch each one on at some time, things were coming out perfectly cooked so it seemed that it knew what it was doing.
Main annoyance – the door is inclined to shut violently if you don’t hold it when shutting it.
Early days but so far I am delighted with it, the results are excellent, its easy to use and providing you give it the correct times and temperatures it seems to produce perfect results every time, without needing to be watched. It is also far more energy efficient than my old oven.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAs you can see from the picture above I have a small kitchen and when I moved I left my main oven behind thinking I would rely on my combination microwave oven until the new kitchen was fitted in the new place but that was a disaster of a mistake as sometimes I need to use the microwave and the oven at the same time plus I don’t think the combi was reaching the right oven temperatures so after swearing I would wait until my new kitchen was installed with a new oven I simply could not wait any longer for a better oven so when I saw this on sale I went for it.

    The external dimensions as follows:
width 46 and a half cm
    depth 36 cm
    height 27 cm

the drop down door from the oven outwards is 22cm so the total depth would be 63cm. I don’t have a full depth for the door to rest on and have not found this to be an issue as the door when opened automatically rests at a level point. You just need to remember not to stand anything on the door ever.

These measurements may vary by 1/2 cm as I am using a tape measure that i cannot bend-)

I have not measured the exact internal oven dimensions but described it instead by the sizes of the available cooking space using the oven rack on each rack level in the oven. The oven rack in the oven without the oven pan has the available cooking space of a width of 35 and a half cm and a depth 28 cm but when using a round cooking pot/plate (the same size as the pizza plate) you can extend this to 30 cm due to the extra couple cm from the extended dip in the rear of the oven.

As you can also see in the picture I have a sage chopping board sitting on top of the oven which is made by sage for this specific oven and items can be stored on top of the board as long as they are not too heavy and dont extend out beyond the sides of the oven itself. This is also good because I feel it’s helped a little with the heat in the kitchen when the Oven is in use and I have a tiny bit more available space to work with.

I have added a oven safe tray liner in the crumb tray under the oven which is also allowed and stops any toast or other food from marking the crumb tray itself. The crumb tray measures 35 and a half cm width and 39 and a half depth however the crumb tray has a small lip going around 3 sides of it so I have cut my oven liner to 30 cm width and 25 cm depth so it fits comfortably and the tray can be pulled in and moore easily.

I honestly thought this oven would be complicated but it could not be simpler just choose from the settings menu which are all dial so no complicated digital functions then choose other dial functions such as how dark you want your toast to be (obviously here it is trial and error until you get it right for yourself) and just leave it to get on with its job. Make sure the oven rack is situated in the oven at the correct rack level for whatever you are cooking which is listed on the external oven door which again makes it easy and uncomplemented to use. I Also like the fact that as soon as I go to make my morning toast it has remembered my perfect setting so no having to fiddle around or watch anything while I am trying to make my coffee-) The rack fits 6 slices of bread from a normal 800g loaf and toasts both sides at once.

You also have the added choice to use a convection mode on the roast oven settings and the frozen function if you are cooking something from frozen.

Of course the first thing I tried was toast which was done to perfection. I used a setting of 4 slices of toast when in actual fact I am using 2 large slices of warburtons white loaf bread from an 800g loaf and this is set to a 4 dark setting and sometimes used with the freezer button on if I am toasting bread straight from the freezer. On this setting the toast takes between 4-5 and a half minutes depending if I am using the frozen setting and comes out a golden brown which is just the way i like it.

Next was pizza using the pizza pan that came with the oven and again choosing the oven settings from the pizza box it came out perfectly.

Then I roasted a small beef joint and that too came out perfect along with the roast potatoes and parsnips.

I have also used the slow cook function for a chilli and while I am not too sure that was the right setting for it I was pleased it came out fine.

I have not tried the reheat function as yet because I always default to using the microwave through habit right now.

The keep warm function is great for when I don’t want to eat a meal that has just been cooked and I am doing something else for a few minutes.

I have not tried baking as yet but I don’t tend to bake much anyway but if it functions as well as the other settings I doubt anyone would have a problem.

The grill function if fab for melting cheese on toast or other dishes that require cheese or anything else melting.

I understand some owners have commented they wished the oven had 2 racks available for use inside the oven but unfortunately it’s not big enough for that however on the rack placement of bake, roast, reheat, warm and slow cook I have 2 oven dishes that can fit in side by side on the one rack so if I need to start something cooking first and add something later that requires less cooking time I use these 2 bowls so I can finish all my cooking at once. You could also fit in a 30cm round cooking bowl or casserole dish as stated above due to the 2-3 cm extension dip at the rear of the oven. The available height on this rack level is around 13cm.

The next rack going up from the bottom of the oven up is the toast, cookie, pizza rack level with a usable height of around 7-8 cm. This is the level I use to toast my morning bread. I also use the grill function on this rack level (despite the grill rack function being closer to the top of the oven) to melt my cheese topped chilli and similar casserole style dishes where something requires melting. This is also the level for cooking your pizzas on the 30cm pizza plate but again you could also use a round 30cm cooking bowl on this rack with an available height of around 7-8 cm.

The last oven rack level close to the top of the oven is the grill and crumpet function. I have not tried crumpets but this rack level makes lovely cheese on toast in double quick time and has an available height of around 3-4 cm.

The oven pan and rack that comes with this oven is 28cm width by 23 cm depth with a height of 3 to 3 half cm so if you are adding this pan to the top of the oven rack to stand another cooking pan or utensil on top of it you need to take into account the extra height against the height measurements I have outlined above on the various racks levels when using the oven rack on it’s own.

The only negative so far is cleaning the fingerprints from the exterior. I wipe the inside of the oven down after every use but also do not allow fatty food to be cooked without a lid so for example I will cook my meat and vegetables and crips them up with the grill rather than leave the whole dish uncovered to cook for a full length of time and this is helping keep my oven clean.

I didn’t mean to go on as long as this but thought maybe all the little details might help someone make up their mind as I definitely recommend this oven wholeheartedly.

so easy to use and like having a main oven agai

Bought this as an extra before Christmas when one of my bigger ovens broke & couldn’t get it repaired due to lockdown.
It’s small & compact but is a great addition to my kitchen. It’d be ideal for a student or motor home etc. It’s soooo simple to use & turns itself off once the preferred cooking time is up meaning no over cooking if you forget about it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have been using this oven to bake cakes (one deep one and then cut in half as you cant do 2 side by side), make pies, make quiches, cook fish, do cheese on toast, macaroni and cauliflower cheese and jacket potaoes all with great success.
I’ve noticed on my electicity smart meter that it uses far less electricity to cook. This is because the internal volume takes less time to get to temp. It takes just over 3 mins to pre heat to 200 celcius whereas my main oven takes 15mins. Plus the power to keep the temp during cooking will only come on now and then, saving electricity.
Considering what you can cook in here, it has a pretty small foot print, like a small microwave.
I do not cook meat in here though as I do not want it to be covered in fat. I believe you could clean it, and as it is small it would not be that hard. A full size oven after all will still get covered in fat but you wouldnt notice for ages before you tried to clean it anyway, and then it will prob be time to get a new one!
This oven is easy to prgram or set up for each session. I could do without the beeping when it gets to temp or when it has finished, its a bit annoying and would be good to turn off.
If you are looking at this and other small ovens, this is worth the extra as I have had cheaper ones too.

Good little oven but fan started to become noisy after a year and has completely stopped working now, so good whilst it works but I fear the build quality is poor.

Edit: the customer service were good and the oven returned for a replacement, rating updated to reflect but be careful of the potential issue with the fan.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI had this in my list of saved items for a while. I read all the reviews but was still unsure. Eventually I ordered a different small oven as a second oven, similar but different and considerably cheaper. I mentioned the order to my son and he said what for, why have your ordered that when you have a cooker, buy a replacement cooker. It was enough to sow a seed of doubt and I cancelled the order for a different brand of oven straight away as I knew I would be disappointed as I had ordered the cheaper mini oven based on the price, just because it was cheaper. But it was NOT the oven I really wanted, the one I really wanted was the Sage Smart Oven Pro with iq. So I ordered it from Amazon. I am so so glad I bought the Sage instead of a cheaper one.

This Sage oven is everything I wanted. It is very well built, very solid, the trays and pans that come with it are quality too, not flimsy and lightweight, but exactly what you would find in a full size oven. It’s not huge, and it sits very comfortably on the worktop in my kitchen. You can put it anywhere really as it plugs into a mains plug socket. So wherever is convenient for you, it doesn’t take up a lot of space. And being all stainless steel it looks really good.

The tray that slides in to the bottom is a perfect fit and easy to slide out for a quick clean. We are all coeliacs and the gluten free crumpets we love to eat are rather crumbly to handle because of the lack of wheat. This oven cooks them perfectly and they don’t fall apart. As it’s an intuitive oven / grill pop them in, press a button and this oven does it all, and it beeps and turns itself off when the crumpets are perfectly done. It even keeps them warm if you can’t get to the oven straight away.

So far I’ve tried a few different things and I especially like the slow cook options that cook a casserole or a joint of slow cook beef for example. I slow cooked a joint of beef and it was delicious.

Overall I am so glad I bought this oven, the one I really wanted, I’m very happy with it. And, I don’t have to bend down to use it! Saves my back, saves me time, saves me money in the long run.

You’re the one that I want, woo hoo hoo honey… you’re the one that I want.

If my review helps you decide, let me know by the like button!

In my Kitchen, I don’t have room for a standard size oven so this was the best option. The pros of this oven are because it is smaller the time it takes to reach the target temperature is within 3 minutes which beats out standard ovens with an average of 15 mins. The downsides are due to its smaller capacity, it also limits the range of baking trays, to be no more than 34Cm in length.

Sage also makes an Airfryer version of this oven but that comes in at a premium of 70 and comes with an “Airfryer” mode and a crisper tray, but you can easily pick up a crisper tray for under 20 and just use the middle rack then use the roast option to achieve similar to air fryer results.

I hesitated about spending so much money for a countertop oven, although I am sure a portion of the cost is import duty since it comes from America (made by Breville which is an excellent brand over there). I took the plunge and I have to say, even though I have only had it a week, I am thrilled to bits with it! I have used it every day – baking, roasting, reheating, cooking pizza, etc. I have made rock cakes in it, too. I can honestly say that everything has turned out much better than it would have in my bigger oven. There is plenty of room inside and it fits beautifully on the countertop. I bought a thin silicone mat to sit it on for extra protection. Don’t hesitate; just buy it!

I read that some have had trouble getting the crumb tray to fit. I did, too, until I realised I needed to turn it upside down before inserting it! Also, the oven is very quiet to run even when on convection.

I have owned many counter top ovens from cheap to medium price but all of them failed after 6 – 12 months as it is my primary mode of cooking (Built-in ovens take too long to heat up and cool down and use way too much electricity). This oven is the BEST investment you could ever make; well worth the price. Had it for over a year with constant everyday use. Accurate thermostat and easy controls. You cannot go wrong with this unit. You do not need anything else. Highly recommend.

just takes a little longer to cook in this one as against a conventional oven, but i find it excellent for my needs rather than heating a large oven for just two of us. i would recommend this oven ieconomial and efficient.

This is a very user friendly oven. Everything is effortless to use. Looks quite nice as well. When we bought this we thought we may not use it much but now we use it almost every day! This is mainly because it is so easy to use. Very effective and powerful. Highly recommended!

I bought this to supplement my small main oven. We wanted a grill to make cheese on toast etc and this works very well for that purpose. Have ended up using it for all sorts of cookery including baking yorkshire puddings. Pastry comes out great and most things I have put on bake mode have been excellent. Looking forward to baking cakes in it now. Only negative I have is that although I have been careful to wipe it after every use some of the marks just don’t seem to come out but after all it is a working oven not a microwave so the heat will bake marks on.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this oven after watching YouTube reviews which praised this oven very highly they were mainly American reviews under the brand name of Breville, in the UK it’s sold under the brand name of Sage.
On arrival it was well packaged and easy to setup a initial 20 minute burn in is required to get rid of all the production smells which is easy to follow from the manual. No question this is a very good and well built oven that is easy to operate. The cooking cycles are fully automated for toasting, roasting, baking, grilling. It also as a slow cook function. As well as automation you can also manually operate all the functions. It is safe to put under kitchen cabinets with minimum clearance. I purchased it mainly for grilling and toasting, but this oven also as convection which cooks meat joints and poultry perfectly. Also as a built in light, accessories and you can warm plates on top. The interior is non stick and easy to clean. Another plus is when you open the door the rack pops out a couple of inches to help you take it out easier. All in all very pleased with the product and to top it all a lot more economical than my main oven. Buy it you won’t be disappointed.

After a lot of deliberation over various models and price range I decided on this one and was not disappointed when I unpacked it. It’s is extremely well made and thought out for a metal box to cook food! It really is a joy with the different options from toast to roast it’s just dial in set the temperature and start. Never been this enthusiastic about an oven!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFabulous little oven. Does everything my big oven can do but without having to bend. Same size as my microwave so sits nicely alongside it. Really is the best thing I’ve bought in years. A wipe down after each use and job done. If you have back or mobility problems you wont regret i

Can’t add anything novel on top of the other positive reviews. I’ve has my Smart countertop oven over a year now and I just love it. So quick to heat up and easy to use for a muliplicity of cooking purposes (i’ve even got rid of my toaster so freeing up counter space). Slick looking. I still use my larger but slow-to-heat-up main cooker oven for large items or to cook multiple items (roast lunches). But for day to day use my Sage is perfec

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPros, does the job well, ease of use and oven reaches temperature in minutes.
Cons, smaller than expected, all dimensions advertised doesn’t include inside oven measurements. Extra cutting board sold by Breville well over priced, I picked up similar for a fraction of the price $3 made from bamboo too. Takes a 9 pot muffin tray, try and find a 9 pot muffin tray (impossible to find)

This is a great oven. But Sage are also a wonderful company. I purchased my oven in May 2018. The fan stopped a week ago ie January 2020. I asked about repairs. They replaced it with a new oven. How can Sage be any better?

Very pleased with the convenience of the smaller oven so far.The variety of foods being cooked seem to be helped by the useful timer.Still experimenting.Saves on using the smaller oven for cooking smaller dishes for one or two. Thanks.
