It’s the bees knees, plus it’s very economical to use which is a bonus.
I bought the 30 Aldi mini oven the temperature of which was way out and I suffered 2 upset stomachs.
My sister has the Breville and recommended the equivalent, Sage, and so far I’m impressed.
However, she cooked a pie on the grid rather than on a baking tray and the contents bubbled over on to the lower elements which I can’t clean.
Also, I didnt wait for Black Friday so I missed out on a reduced price!
I would recommend the oven anyway.
I live in a Park Home and it’s ideal for a shortage of space.
We just moved and upgrading the kitchen so only need a little oven for now. This is excelle
Very happy, straight away cooked pizzas for kids tea, then a whole chicken, and has to be one of the nicest cooked chickens I’ve had in a long time.
So impressed with this Sage smart oven and grill having had it only a week we are now buying the Sage smart microwave
One thing i do like about this oven food seems tastier and doesnt burn even when food placed near the elements
it is easy to clean with a removable crumb tray we placed a sheet of silicone partchment in the crumb tray to keep it clean as it is made of aluminium and youtube videos shows the crumb tray staining
Pizzas cook without burning and toast browns both sides without burning too
If you alter an option time and or temperature it stays active until you switch the device off at the socket
when you switch the oven back on at the socket it reverts back to default settings
all options are advisory and should not be taken as statute food needs to cooked properly especially poultry
It does a great job on toast from our home made bread setting on 4 slices and brown setting 4 run this programme twice 8 minutes for great golden brown toast both sides
Grills sausage and crispy bacon in our new Pro-cook cast iron griddle pan lovely 5 mins a side for bacon and 9 to 10 mins a side for sausage all the fat and oils run into the griddle grooves leaving everything crisp and dry
Would i recommend this oven, yes deffinately
We have now ordered the Sage smart Microwave, no more dried up baked beans and soggy pastry meat pies 🙂
This is better than a normal oven. No more scrubbing cookers out. Wonderful
I am not ready to replace my old cooker, until I have a new kitchen installed next year. This is perfect for my needs. I cannot fault it.
I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS EASY TO CLEAN AS I HAVE NOT USED IT MORE THAN ONCE AND IT IS NOT YET DIRTY
Ask me again after a month or two.
There’s a very annoying buzzing sound coming from the upper-right side of the oven when it’s plugged in and the interior light is switched off. I suspect it’s an electronics issue known as “capacitor squeal” which can only be solved by changing the type of electronics used to build the product. The piercing whine is very high-frequency and as such is usually only audible to younger people. This issue probably affects every one of these ovens in existence (I’ve had two units and it has affected both), so if you’re relatively young and easily annoyed, you might want to consider this.
Aside from the acoustic problem, it’s a decent small oven and I only have minor complaints. With that in mind I won’t repeat the glowing praise other reviews have featured, but I’ll offer a couple of other points to look out for:
1. It only comes with a single wire rack meaning if you want to bake two thin pizzas or whatever you’ll have to buy another rack which is annoying.
2. The supplied baking tray, while being decent in quality, is not completely flat. It has a raised diamond pattern in the middle which means you can’t really bake flat things like cookies using it without their bases being uneven.
3. Not all modes allow preheating and/or convection.
4. When using a programme with preheating, the timer starts as soon as the preheating phase completes. This means you have to hang around and be ready to put your food into the oven or else you lose precious seconds/minutes after the oven has preheated. On other ovens you usually have to press start again after preheating.
So happy with this little oven. After our last little oven blew up we didn,t buy another one. for a few years I was really missing the convenience of it .I was deciding not to bother cooking certain things as I was feeling that I was wasting gas waiting for the oven to warm up and for putting the oven of for one thing. When our gas main oven started to play up I decide to start looking again for a little one. I am so glad I did, yes this is more expensive than a lot of other ones but after the the last cheap one that went up with a bang I decide to spend a bit more, this time! Very happy I did.p
Arrived on time and since then have been using it regularly don’t feel guilty, as it warm,s up quick and with it being a fan oven it’s quicker cooking time. It looks good, easier to clean and it is easier to use. So pleased with this little gem!
We are very pleased with our new oven, for its size its powerful. very easy to get used too
Amazing product!! 10/10. Couldn’t ask for more from this oven, does everything, easy to use. Quality and look is great.
This is a great counter top oven so useful for small portions. Can do everything on a small scale. Bake bread cakes etc. Roast meats and veg. I am delighted with this oven heats up quickly and saves on energy costs.
Bought this as a temporary replacement for the busted built-in oven in our kitchen. It’s surprisingly spacious for a diddy oven and swallowed a nice roast chicken the first weekend we had it. We do now have a main oven back, but most of the household prefers to use this because it heats up quickly, has super-easy dials and settings, and if you are just warming something up, making toast or grilling – why not? We will buy again if this one ever packs up!
This is a nice oven and fits well in any kitchen. It is well made and has really good controls. The elements heat up really quickly and the fan makes a controlled heating always occur. Also I like how the light comes on when there’s about a minute left, so you can see your feast.
great this cooker, cooks everthing to a t. the computor system works very well. i have all the sage cookers now
and have not regretted it at all. go for it.
This is a wonderful and easy to use piece of kitchen equipment and very user friendly
When our kids left home we found that our normal oven was too large for normal use so we used a Remaska oven which we had bought for carvanning. Our trusty Remaska finely died of old age and we looked for a replacement. This Sage oven looked to be just the job.
The Sage oven really has exceeded our expectations. It looks good and does everything a normal built-in oven/grill does but with using a fraction of the electricity. It heats up super fast and the timer function is really useful.
My wife is the least tech-savvy person you could come across and yet she mastered the controls within minutes.
I recommend using roasting bags when cooking meat and foul – they keep the meat tender and help to keep the oven interior clean.
We cooked a large chicken in the Sage oven the other day and it fitted into the oven with space to spare.
Bought this when our range broke and we were saving for another. We are a family of 4. This oven is AMAZING! We have a new double range cooler and I still prefer this little oven. The main bonus is the timer- you can put in dinner and forget about it – without it burning. With Young’s kids this is great- can put dinner on whilst you do the school run or play in the garden. Cooks perfectly – exactly to the recommendations on packets- if a pizza says 8 mins. Set the timer and in 8 mins will be perfect.
I’ve used every function including baking cakes and they are all great.
Slow cooker feels a lot safer when it’s digital and I’ve gone from slow cooking once or twice per year to slow cooking 3 days a week.
If this is your main oven there are a few things to note:
It is small. If you’re a single person it’s probably fine. For a family it’s not as good. For example it will happily roast a large size supermarket chicken but this takes up the whole oven. If you want roasties etc you need to cook them after the chicken. Same for fish fingers and chips etc- or if just cooking for kids but not family.
Also won’t fit most standard Pyrex or casserole pans. For slow cooking have to use a small le cruset (18cm) casserole pot which is only just big enough for 2 adults, 5 year old and baby. The oven is wide enough to take a larger pot but you are limited by height – bigger dishes tend to be taller . I’ve added photos with standard 400g tin for perspective.
I find I use this oven daily for toast (threw my toaster away as this was much better), pizza, kids fish fingers/ oven chips, roasting a chicken (put it in and the I go out), slow cooking – 3 days per week.
I have never been able to use the timer on a cooker, too fiddly and complicated. This is sooooo simple anyone can do it without the need to read a manual.
There is a newer version available overseas (brevill not sage- this is a brevill cooker with UK ‘sage’ branding). I will be upgrading as soon as it comes!
I have been using this for nearly a year and can’t recommend it highly enough. If you need a countertop cooker there is no better alternative. Or if you keep burning things because you’re so distracted!
I am very impressed with this oven. It is very well thought out and does everything I need.
My only negatives are that the surface is a little difficult to clean off finger marks and the rather important fact that a decent explanatory manual was not included… for the price, I would have expected that. However, I found a comprehensive manual online via Heston Blumenthal.
If you have a small flat or live in a HMO this is a must. Simple to use, easy to keep clean, cooks perfectly
We bought this oven for temporary use while we had a new kitchen installed.
It works really well, just the same as large oven but smaller. Cooked lots of stuff in it, chickens, pies and pizza all good.
Best Buy ever. Use it every day. Love it. You will not regret buying this oven. Wish I had it year’s ago.
Brilliant small oven with many features. I’m using it every day and haven’t used my big oven at all. Hopefully time will sow that I am saving on electricity too.
Had many toaster ovens over the years but this one sure beats them all for ease of use, consistency and good looks. Wow! truly worth the extra $. Love all the different settings and for the most part produces accurate cooking. Love it!
I have been using the oven only for a month now.
So far Very good product overall. Style, quality of materials, details, all digital control with preset setting for cooking all food; easy to set and moderate electricity consumption.
All food from meat, chicken, roast, fish, vegetables, baking cakes, bread, homemade pizza they are all well cooked through.
Money well spe
Wow cheese on toast grilled to perfection. Fab bit of machinery. Expensive but so much more better quality than the cheap ones .this is the best on the market. My cooker is broke and I took the plunge to get this until I could find a cooker I liked .but I’m just sticking with this .perfect size .lots of options on counts. Very easy to use .highly highly recommended buying this .my best buy this year .I love i
Right from the word go I knew I’d made the right purchase. Really easy to clean. Just follow the instructions and twiddle the knobs and let the smart oven do the rest. So far I have absolutely no complaints.
Really pleased with this oven. Good selection of cooking modes and accurate temperature control. Highly recommended.
Bought this cooker as I dont always want to heat up the big oven for just the two of us. I was really impressed by the quality, its well designed, well built and looks very professional. Its got a great grill, and bakes and roasts brilliantly. the LED display lets you choose how you want to cook the food but you can change timings and temperatures if you wish.
It heats up to temperature really quickly and pings to let you know when its ready, It pings again when the food is done. There is an internal light which comes on at the beginning and end of cooking or you can push a button on the front if you want to check on how things are going. Altogether delighted with this purchase.
Brilliant so glad i payed a little bit more could not do without this ove
So easy to use and so easy to accurately time and temperature control dishes.
Easy to use perfect toast, tender meat and best roast potatoes.
Great, Simple to use oven. Well impressed with this oven and I cant highly recommend this product enough!
Excellent product. So far its made toast, pizza, mousakka and chicken. Everything cooks to perfection. The item preheats in less than five minutes so saves time. I’m looking forward to trying out the slow cooker next!
I recommend you to buy this oven. Very easy to use and clean. Not very big but professional.
The oven looks smart. The controls are simple to use and totally intuitive. We hardly use our regular oven now. VERY impressed! 🙂
Brilliant little oven, ideal for a small kitchen. Easy to use with good results on all types of functions.
Used so far mainly for pizzas; with a corderite pizza stone, it is superb. Also excellent for quick warmup of breakfast sausage rolls. My only regret is that it’s not the slightly larger model (marketed under the Breville name) I had before I moved from Canada to the UK.
So great I returned It and bought one elsewhere!!! Let me explain. A vital instruction was omitted regarding fitting the tray. Best explained is the droppings/crumb tray should be fitted with oven door closed. Yes, The tray is not fitted via the oven, but below it. The one I have is an excellent buy.
I bought a Sage because my previous small oven – a Delonghi, which I liked very much and used a great deal – died and could not be mended, just when I needed it . So this was something of a forced purchase. The price of the Sage seemed a little high, but the reviews were excellent
I am just plain delighted. Over a couple of months I have used just about all of its settings. I have grilled, baked, toasted, roasted – the lot. Results have been damn nigh perfect.
So far, I love it!
I’ve done away with the toaster and use this instead! Also cooks anything I need if I don’t need to heat up a big oven.
I just cooked a casserole using the slow cooker function and it came out perfectly! You can choose hi or low (4 or 8 hours) so I did mine on high.
We use it for pies, pizza, toast, bagels, crumpets, baked potatoes, anything you fancy which will fit (I did have to remove the handle from my casserole dish, but it was fine).
I reall must agree with other positive reviews, which encouraged me to bite the bullet and buy this. For once, I am in total agreement and the reviews are correct! It is expensive for me though and that’s the only issue with it!
I’m using this as a backup but if I was living alone, I would only use this and not need my main oven at all.
Ease of use, controls very easy to see and good choice of cooking modes.
This is to supplement my single built-in oven, and is also great for toasting. It heats up very quickly and seems well made. I think it is just what I need, hoping it lasts a decent time as I have had other much cheaper ones which didn’t last long.
Fantastic, kitchen top oven. Small, though; a large chicken or medium-sized roasting joint are a tight squeeze. However, for 1-2 people it’s a purchase to be recommended.
A conventional convection oven falls short when needing to cook dishes simultaneously at different temperatures. Hence my purchase of the Sage. Like other reviewers, I have so enjoyed the effective simplicity, economy and efficiency of the Sage that it is now my first choice for most tasks. Ten presets, with three shelf settings and the option to vary temperature and cooking time by the turn of a knob makes this a dream to use. The presets work to perfection, maintaining a constant surround temperature. As some purchasers have encountered difficulties locating the crumb-tray slot, I have added a photo to show just where it fits.
I looked at buying one of these two years ago and decided it was to expensive so I bought a cheaper one, I now really regret that decision because while it was ok it wasn’t great and the sage is, superb little oven ideal for one or two people, good quality easy to use and most importantly it cooks at the temperature you ask it to and not somewhere close like the cheaper one I bought.
Good oven. Works really, toasts my bread evenly and the programs are a good shortcut to cook different kind of food. As mentioned before, the heat is spread evenly and so the food gets cooked well.
This is a great oven, I was concidering a cheaper one , but I am glad that I purchased this one , it is well made and easy to use, highly recommend.
I cannotreally describe how happy I am all these years that I replaced my microwave with it. PERFECT in everyday -or more- use
Easy to use, rapid heat up time. Expensive but worth i
I had a cheaper oven which wasn’t very good. As I am on my own, I decided to buy the Sage mini oven. It is well built, easy to operate, functions well and looks good. I can’t rate it too highly and if people can stretch to the higher price, well worth every penny.
A lot of money, yes but worth every penny just for perfect Yorkshire’s today, also used for a pizza and the base was nice and crunchy, used the pizza tray it comes with just added some flour.
Recommend getting a tray due to over spills, we made lasagne and very good even colour on the top when normally in fan oven we have to turn around towards the end of cooking.
I was in search of an American style toaster oven…..that actually has a TOAST setting. Although the Sage toaster oven was larger than a standard toaster oven, and toasts up to 6 slices beautifully, we actually ended up using all the other features for grilling, baking, roasting etc…. more than our large cooker ovens. Friends have been impressed with ours, and looking to purchase one for themselves too.
Well this is alot better than my previous mini oven which was a lidl one and was a load of crap , this one it top notch and works very well i am well pleased with it …
Bought for my
Elderly mother who can’t bend down anymore to use her oven . She absolutely loves this and has needed no help at all in using i
Purchased on the recommendation of a friend we are pleased with our early experience of this equipment. It is extremely easy to use and we have had excellent results. We had some difficulty inserting the crumb tray when setting up the oven before it’s first use. The instructions talked about inserting the tray into the oven, but following a quick call to the Sage customer service desk we realised that the tray should be inserted into the slot at the base of the oven, and not into the oven itself!
I bought this oven to replace a much cheaper compact oven, not that the cheaper one had broken but more that I had no faith in its performance. The Sage oven instantly inspires confidence and produces excellent results.
The old adage is so true, ” Buy cheap, buy twice”
We purchased this for our office and after only one day I can say it’s just amazing! Staff love it and it’s so easy to use. Nice and compact too!
Love this oven. Use it all the time.
Bonus is it makes perfect toast too. 🙂
It’s great to have a timer over an hour and it pre heats the oven before timer starting.
This oven WAS fantastic… I previously left it a 5-star review. However, I had to return the first unit as it stopped turning on. Just received the new unit and used it for the first time, however, the unit exploded and the glass shattered. I won’t be buying again as it’s dangerous!
Just perfect for our small kitchen. Looks great, cooks great and it’s really smart and easy to use. I use it together with my Thermomix food processor and finally my meals are just perfect. I recommend the cooker for everyone, great value for money.
The oven was purchased to age and condition material samples for type-testing, not for food preparation.
But still, very easy to use; looks smart and clean. I recommend this product.
I’ve had this a couple of months now and it’s seen frequent but not heavy use. The controls are intuitive, well thought out and it remembers what you used last time for each different mode (roast, bake, slow-cook). I’ve used most of them by now.
There’s a good quality feel to it through out. I also measured its accuracy with an oven thermometer and it was very close. And that it was off at all might be due to my positioning the thermometer at the very front so I could see it better rather than in the centre as the instructs suggest. More importantly, it is CONSISTENT. I’ve baked the same cake recipe three times in it now and been able to adjust the timing to perfection and know with confidence that it’s going to be precisely the same as last time. I am very satisfied with this oven. Capacity is also good enough for my needs as a second oven.
There are cheaper mini-ovens. But if you’re the sort of person who is able and willing to pay for a bit more quality then of the more expensive mini-ovens, this is the one to get.
It does exactly what it promises and more .well worth the extra money .
Bought this for my 80 year old mum,she loves it ,simple to use,she just wishes it was a tiny bit bigger, having had a useless normal cooker, she is now back to baking cakes etc again.Very pleased
I do quite a lot of baking & cooking. As my last oven had lasted 19 years I thought it was time to upgrade. This oven is fantastic. I wish I had bought this year’s ago. It’s simple to opporate too. Very quick delivery too.
This is a very, very good oven. If, like me, you don’t like cooking at all, you should get one of these because it does it all for you. You just make a few selections on the dials and leave it. It will beep when it needs attention. It will beep when it’s up to temperature (0 to 180 in about 3 minutes). It will beep when it’s finished. It bakes. It toasts. It grills. I use my main oven for frying only. I use this for everything else.
Downside is that build quality is a little flakey in places. The fan is noisy sometimes. Sounds like it’s hitting something. The crumb tray is made of thin aluminium and it is too thin. It will bend and kink in the middle if you wash it too vigorously and press too hard. Other than those two things and I would have given it full marks.
Can’t fault it at all !
Only wish Sage sold a solo microwave oven to complement ; no need for an all singing, all dancing microwave , a simple one would be perfect to complement the BOV 820BSS .
Amazing oven. For some years I had a basic mini oven, and when it packed up I decided to upgrade. With only 2 vegans to feed, we don’t need a full oven, but I wanted the features. The Sage has it all. Bakes lovely bread, roasts potatoes, heats, toasts etc. All perfectly programmed. Results are so much better than when using a basic model mini oven.
This oven is different class. You really get what you pay for. Beautifully made and a delight to use.
brilliant machine, well built, very versatile, have dumped the microwave. thank you.
I gave this oven 5 stars in April 2018 after using it once. We have used this daily ever since, our built in oven only gets used now at Easter and Xmas. My daughter has been with us for 2 weeks and has admired it so much that I suspect I will be buying a second one soon. It has been worth every penny!
This product as amazed me. Solidly built with no give when you press on the outer casing and it really does make great toast.
So far I have done a beef roast and a chicken and both cooked perfectly. It also looks as good as it does in the pictures so very happy with it.
Amazing little compact over engineered table top oven, made out of top grade materials and very user friendly.
The price of the oven is 2 to 4 times higher than other similar table top ovens, However you get what you pay for
And I am more than happy to pay for good quality equipment.
Very Happy with this oven, perfect results, pastry needs a bit longer so add a few minutes for pies and quiche. Love it!!
Only had this for a short time but can already tell I will soon be using it more frequently than my “main oven”. Heats up very quickly and consumes a lot less energy than the main oven. Heat is very consistent and a number of settings means that there are almost limitless things that you can cook in it. The inside is bigger than I was expecting. Looking forward to trying a pizza with a pizza stone in it.
Easy to operate, good quality product, Would have liked a Recipe Book to be included, however a good all round performer.
I’m a bit wary of celeb endorsed products but after using this for a few weeks now I’m well-impressed by it, despite the price tag. Plenty of pre-sets, all easily over-ridden if necessary. Very clear control panel and display. Internal light automatically comes on for final few minutes of cooking and can be switched on/off at any time during cooking. It took a cake tin 9.5cmH x 19cm diameter OK. Pre-heats in barely 5 minutes and is therefore more practical for simple solo cooking than my main oven.
Wow!! another very versatile product, cooks food exceptional. a very well made piece of kit especially for the single perso
So much better than a floor level oven. Really good. Bread rolls golden. Toast likewise and bacon lovely. A bit hot on the outside. Make sure there’s a gap all around. Easy to operate. Every day use so far.
This is a wonderful counter top oven that has quickly become indispensable. Having seen such devices used by family in Canada I was looking for one for myself. Although the Sage is expensive it is certainly worth the money. I use it for my toast, for small bakes and lots more. The convection option and the quickly preheating time is very good. I haven’t had a problem with anything that I have cooked in it. Now my main oven oven goes on for large items, which wont fit in the Sage.
I’m enjoying using this -though it was a bit big for me —my fault.
You can buy inexpensive versions of this type of oven or you can go a little upmarket. Because of the use this will get we chose to go a little upmarket and our choice has been well rewarded. This is an excellent oven and one for which we are still finding out how much it can do!
It has not had a massive impact on our electricity bill either, (although this has to be subject to how much use you give it – ours is minimal).
a very smart oven. multi-functional. cooks evenly. perfect for backing. heats up very fast. easy to use. big enough for 8-inch cake mould and 12 muffins mould.
Bought for my elderly mother and use it instead of her big oven as she only has small meals to cook so far very pleased with it.
Absolutely brilliant, honestly I don’t know how I managed before. This oven is used at least once a day, most days more often. It makes perfect, and I mean perfect toast and for the rest, wonderful. So far I’ve produced Peach Cobbler, Cottage Pie, 3 different cakes, sourdough bread, white bread, fruit tart. The interior is surprisingly spacious, you will be able to place two 2 LB loaf tins side by side without any problems. The controls are very intuitive and easy to operate. You can switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius with the push of a button and!!!! you can slow cook with this Smart Oven Pro. All in all, the best money I have ever spent on a kitchen gadget – looks good, does its job without problems and is used on a daily basis.
This is the BEST toaster oven/convection oven I have ever owned. It preheats within 3minutes – cooks evenly and has so many wonderful functions.
EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH EVERY CENT!!!
I am very please to buy this oven! I can cook everything with it. The best is chess on toast, potato roasted, baking, etc. fast delivery.
Absolutely brilliant. We use it every day. Toasting, grilling or as an oven,. We love it and wouldn’t be without it now. Saving us money as we rarely use our main oven now, as usually only cooking for the two of us.
Best smart oven ever I am giving this to my son.It is easy to use and looks great.
This is a brilliant table top cooker at a fantastic price. Set up is instant and controls are easy to use. It truly feels as if it is a well spec ordinary cooker in miniature. I’m so thrilled with this cooker and have used it everyday as it virtually does everything you could need.
We have had a couple of small kitchen worktop ovens by well known makers. This is by far the best we have used, easy, efficient, well made, good looking…what more do you need ?
This thing is absolutely amazing. Seriously, we have no idea how we lived without it, and our proper gas oven is looking incredibly dejected these days. The Heston (as we’ve quite obviously nicknamed it) just cooks everything so beautifully.
More topnotch Australian teck, another good solid build.
Does what it says on the tin.
Does the perfect Bake
, I haven’t used my large oven since purchasing this Smart oven
Worth the extra cost.
I have barely used my full-sized oven since purchasing this. I haven’t tried all the functions yet, such as slow cooking, but everything I have tried has done a beautiful job. Foods come out cooked and browned evenly and it is without a doubt the best toaster I’ve ever owned. Highly recommended.
excellent product, we use it for cooking chicken, sausages and pies and works amazingly well!
i was debating this and another with hot plates above (becuase of the volume) but i am glad i bought this instead. it is well made and looks amazing!
as I am single I bought this to replace my gas oven. The price tag put me off at first, but I shouldn’t have worried as this is a great little oven. Have only used the baking and roasting facilities but there has been no difference in the quality of the finished food between this oven and my gas oven. Plus it is so easy to use, I certainly have no problem in recommending it as so far I have found nothing to fault i
Best toaster/oven I have ever owned. Yes, it does work flawlessly on North American 240V/60Hz with a plug adaptor. Excellent feature set, quick preheat, super-even heat with convection fan. Strongly recommend this for any kitchen.
