These are great cases.
Second one I’ve bought.
Customer aftercare is second to none.
Pricey but quality and top service has to come at a price.
A great investment.
Unblievably light suitcase, seems very durable and strong and secure. Offers so much usable space
The suitcase is very sturdy with plenty of room. I love the different sections, so I can separate clothes and other items I might be taking on my travels.
For the money – really good. Solid quality – wheels still spinning after multiple business trips. Seals well. Happy
Initially setting a personal locking code was quite tricky but once done the case has proven itself. Large, strong, probably baggage handler proof (my last Samsonite has lasted for 15 years and is still in excellent condition) it could benefit from more than one internal zipped side pocket for small items. Very good value.
cheaper from the previous luggage i bought with the same design, color and size
Bought this 3 years ago as a present and although expensive for a cabin size case, it is great quality (as you would expect from Samsonite) and it still looks great after going on many trips.
Lovely case. Excellent design. Only problem, no instructions how to see the lock. No override instructions either. Then went online only to find samsonite site under construction? Granted this was busy period. However have travelled extensively with the case and haven’t looked back, just would like some info about the locking mechanism. I would feel safer being able to lock and unlock my case.
my seond one as my son “Borrowed ” mine and i needed one quick…. fast delivery.. quality suitcase .. stands up to use every week…
Arrived quickly and is what I expected. Looking forward to start using i
Excellent product, very well made and light allowing a good packing margin.
I have bough this around 18 month ago and have travelled at least 25 times and it is still like brand new. good quality worth the money.
Bought this samsonite hand luggage as it has a proper lock, an excellent case to either go in the hold or to carry on the plane.
Samsonite makes great products I have known them for decades for keeping their promise of excellence
This is a very sturdy case, and I am sure will last a good while. It’s quite an attractive design, and the handles, wheels, etc. all seem very strong.
So glad I bought this thing. Essential if you’re a frequent traveller.
Great suitcase, well made. Fits everything required for 2 week holiday. We purchased 2 one for myself and wife. Love the product.
Robust high quality suitcase – I love it and know it won’t get crushed at an airport (like my last suitcase). Easy to use locks and plenty of spce.
Smart, lightweight suitcase. Huge improvement over suitcases of even a few years ago
Excellent very spacioys and even full easy to guide. Not like the others that have own will. Sturdy weels. Recommend
Very light, easy to manoeuvre, but very basic interior. Locking system excellent.
Great suitcase. Easy to wheel through an airport and stands up to abuse well.
I have been traveling for business for over 50 years and this is one of the best suitcases I’ve found. I bought it primarily because of its security features and the fact that it is robust and damage resistant.
I had some basic criteria for a new small suitcase: it had to be small enough to qualify as hand luggage on most airlines, it had to have 4 wheels, and it had to have no external zips.
I do quite a few trips where I can get away with just hand luggage, so I needed one that was small enough for that, but could hold quite a lot in it. This suitcase is fairly basic inside with one open section and the other section has a zipped cover – which is great. It holds lots of stuff in it and I can easily pack a good few days’ worth of clothes in it.
I’d never had a 4-wheel suitcase before (only 2-wheel pull-alongs), but seeing so many in the airport and how easily people can push them along, I wanted to go for one. You have the best of both worlds anyway, as you can also just pull it along on two of its wheels if you want to. It rolls really smoothly too.
Finally, and probably most importantly, I wanted a suitcase with latches rather than zips. These are actually harder to find that I expected. I didn’t want zipped because zips fail. Also zips are less secure and you can easily wedge a pen or screwdriver into a zip to force it open. Also, latches are generally on hard-shell cases and I prefer hard shells plus I find latches feel like they’re holding your suitcase tight shut with little chance of accidentally opening.
As this suitcase met my criteria and it wasn’t too expensive (not cheap, but one of the cheaper Samsonite ones) then I decided it was the one to go for. I ordered red so it stood out more on the carousel (if I ever needed to check it in). Being Samsonite, the build quality is superb and I expect it will last for years.
Excellent Product and well recommended. We ordered it on a Saturday evening and it was delivered on the Monday morning. We are very impressed by the product and the service.
I got this for my wife after I have owned one these for 2 years now and I can say it’s worth the money very good quality, nice design etc.
Just what I wanted for short haul flights, it takes a suit, shoes, two shirts perfect for those one and two night trips. Fits in all major airline lockers lightweight but strong worth every penny.
Replacing a Samsonite suitcase that I have had for nearly 40 years. Great quality, amazing price saving and very prompt delivery
This is actually a version of the Scure DLX though not named as such. I presume it’s much cheaper than the standard version (155) because it doesn’t come in the metallic colours of the original. The main advantage of the DLX model is the additional handle on top making lifting it more stable. This replaces a Samsonite Aeris which kept bashing my legs every time it was lifted as there was no central handle on top. Straps and zipped compartments inside are also useful. A really robust lightweight suitcase.
Really nice suitcase. Exactly what we were looking for and arrived really fast!
Really nicely made and well designed case, it feels like it will take the punishment of airline baggage handlers.
Samsonite hard case suitcases always deliver. Many people feel put off by the fact that it’s hard case but if you don’t intend to carry a djembe in them they are by far the most durable and protective suitcases. I ofthe carry bottles and other semi fragile items and never had to put bubble wrap in them. Have had 2 for more than 50 years and I just had to replace the small one recently due to one of the locks not closing anymore. When I get the time I will try to repare this lock and hope for another 15 years of the old one
Have yet to use this case but having used my son’s who has an identical model then I am sure I have made a positive purchase.
I love the suitcase, love it.
I had an issue which scared me and if that the locking mechanism failed me once, luckily for me, it failed while it the suitcase was open, I reset the code and all ok.
I did not change the luggage because it never happened again and I am still covered.
Bought as a pressie for my missus, she is most pleased and loves it.
Perfect suitcase for a frequent traveler – light and strong with the usual Samsonite top-quality. It’s a very useful size. We have Samsonite case that have traveled very frequently and survived some violent baggage handlers ! The other great thing about Samsonite is that if wheels or catches are damaged, one can buy replacement parts.
As usual an excellent product.
Be sure to only order ones made in Europe.
Samsonsite make wonderful, robust and strong suitcases. With this one I’m set up for life.
Quality product and easy to move around airports and hotels
Looks super smart too
Have had two of these for 2 years and made quite a few long haul trips which they have survived! The red ones really stand out on the baggage carousel. Wheels make manoeuvring really easy. Other cases may be lighter, but I prefer hard suitcases.
Great strong case and no space wasted. Maybe it should be 4.5 stars. The wheels are strong but more plastic than rubber so make more noise than I would like in the street. Also as has no external pocket which is typical for this style when travelling you have nowhere to put passport, boarding pass etc. So to get anything out you have to put it on its side and open it fully. Overall quality very good.
definitely worth the money- although it s more expensive than the king size samsonite luggages. The locks on all edges, tight seals instead of zippers and the weight of the lugggage is really good.
Good, strong and very light, a real suitcase which seems it will last a long time. I am happy with it.
It survived multiple flights and does the job. Not tried the code lick yet. Very light and looks good.
Update at 18 months: Despite spending the last 6 months joining me for on at least two flights a week (as checked luggage) it’s happily going strong.
I have now been using this every week for four months for travelling around the UK with my job. I’ll typically be away for four days during the week, and was previously making do with a smaller laptop wheelie bag – but decided to upsize to a larger bag with four wheels to make staying away more comfortable.
I’m extremely happy with this hard (although still flexible) case, it’s suffered only one or two minor scuffs and is easy to clean after being pulled around in the rain, unlike previous fabric cases. It also doesn’t fray or snag like other soft cases do when being taken on/off trains etc.
A few observations:
– It isn’t the lightest. I’m not concerned about this, but a fabric bag will be lighter
– It isn’t the quietest. The wheels are double wheels, and their mounts on the hard case make a lot more noise when dragging than other four wheeled soft suitcases that colleagues have.
– If you are trying to pack a lot in, bear in mind the case isn’t as flexible as a soft case. That said, if you fasten the two end clips first, you can easily clip on the side fastener.
– There are only two storage areas. If you like compartmentalising you will need to buy some packing bags. It would have been nice to have a small pouch for miscellaneous items that you don’t want rattling around in the main areas.
Despite the above, I’m extremely happy with my purchase and would happily buy again.
I’ve owned a couple of Samsonite suitcases over the years and they’ve never let me down. The two handles are sturdy and firm (not like the American tourister ones that can easily snap from heavy use) and it is well-made. I was a bit disappointed that it turned out to be smaller than I thought it would be (my mistake with the measurements) and I was wondering if I should send it back, but when I tried packing in a few items I realized that it could hold more than it seemed to. Love it! Stylish and efficient.
This is the second one of these we have. We have had the first for a couple of years and when we needed another case we decided that this was our best one for the price. I like the fastenings better than a zip, it is strong and light and easy to wheel.
I would buy another and recommend it.
A really nice piece ok kit -very light, well made and secure. Just what I have always come to expect from Samsonite. It wheels very well on lots of different surfaces whether being used upright or pulled at an angle. Inside its well fitted out with a super padded slot that just takes a laptop VERY securely. Overall you get what you pay for- I have now had to buy another for my wife so be warned!
Made from polypropylene so they do mark easily and they do ‘give’ a fair bit when compressed, so I hope they are durable
A light suitcase which can be moved with ease as the four wheels rotate so you can push them along in the upright position or tilt them and pull with an adjustable handle
Easy to open and close with three strong clips and a coded lock
They arrived quickly and delivered by the regular post man which was ideal
Nice luggage, the only think that I didn’t like was that the front part of the case it wasn’t as hard as I expected, is’t more flexible if you press down on it.
Light & compact suitcase that is perfect for business trips, easy to move around and protects your belongings due to the hard surface.
This really is the bees knees. You can obviously buy much cheaper, but the quality of this suitcase is outstanding
This is the best suitcase I’ve owned. Very light-weight but robust, and well designed to make maximum use of space. It also wheels very smoothly. Price on Amazon was much lower than in the stores. Highly recommended.
very nice suitcases at a very good price – haven’t used them yet as they are replacements for ones which got damaged on our last trip away
After owning many 30-50 travel cases in the past and them lasting 1-2 trips before something breaking i can honestly say i’m glad i opted to pay a bit more the quality of the materials and sturdiness of this case makes it hands down the best i’ve ever owned.
Would recommend.
Excellent tough and secure suitcase with handy divider compartments. As cabin crew i travel most days of the year and samsonite is the only brand of suitcase i would recommend as my last one lasted me 10 years. Since, I have used delsey, american tourister etc and none compare to reliable samsonite.
Reasonably good quality,a little soft on top of case with no frame inside, but otherwise i am happy.
Great suitcase. Easy to pack in both sides of the case. Easy to push/pull/steer. Bought one and liked it so much we bought another in a different colour.
I’m happy with the suitcase. As it is a Samsonite I’m pretty sure it’ll last me a few years as has my other Samsonite suitcases.
Already have two larger cases and this one seems to be of the same high standard although I have only used it for one short trip so far.
Quality case for a fair bit cheaper than on the high street, and surprisingly light for something so large
Sturdy, beautiful and practical in the best Samsonite tradition. And relatively light for its size, which helps because something this big gets easily filled past airline baggage limitations. I am always worried about four-wheelers because the wheels are often delicate and break off. This one has taken a couple of intercontinental trips and so far, so good…
Lovely cabin case, can’t go wrong with Samsonite products. A little more expensive but worth the extra cos
Lovely, solid suitcase which glides across the airport floor. Nice tight locking mechanism and bright colour.
I’ve had one of these cases for a while and love it so much I bought one for my wife. Mine has traveled around the world (literally) and taken a real beating but the seal remains intact and there is no damage beyond scuffs. The wheels also still rotate nicely. I’d recommend this case in a heartbeat if you do enough travelling to warrant spending the amount of money required.
Prompt arrival, as described. Just perfect as is lightweight, easy to spot on the carousel and the 4-wheel system makes manoeuvring around easy. There really is plenty of room in this case for a weeks holiday in the sun. I could probably get away with using it for a skiing holiday, holding boots, salopettes and jumpers. Can’t fault the case or seller.
I have the same case in the next size up so I knew what I was getting. Good quality easy to wheel, very light and looks good.
I’m a road warrior. The lightness of this case is good with international flights, the robustness means it still looks good after a few long trips.
Locking mechanism works well, the clasps too bit take some getting used to.
Ideal suitcase for my elderly mother as easy to push with the four wheels.
Excellent, hardwearing, roomy with a security code, wheels manoeuvre 60% all round, so easy for transportation, can get everything in this for travelling. Nice extending handle too. Quality product.
Great case, light weight strong and easy to move around. Top section zipped so easy to pack.
More affordable than in the store. That’s a plus. Overall quality is good. Easy to maneuver. Quality wheels. Inside where the enclose zipped area tends to “thread out”. Have to be cutting smal threading off to ensure it doesn’t pull off everything.
Combination code was easy to activate. Easy to open and close. Gives you that peace of mind that your items are safe and secure.
Sturdy, easy to manoeuvre, light and packs a lot in. only thing to be aware of is that it starts moving on trains or buses or any sloped area and there is no way to keep it upright and stationary. need to keep it on its side or just hold on to it. needed to keep an eye on it as it started moving off on a train platform, had to quickly grab hold of it. another point is that there were lots of people who had the exact same one at the airport, so easy to get it mixed up, best to make it distinct with a tag of some sort.
Passed the multi-airline and cruise test with only a little marking. Getting used to packing in 2 halfs, rather than just closing the lid (as on soft suitcases, takes a little getting use to.
Brilliant. Bought on behalf of a friend who is now in her 70’s. She found the case light and easy to manoeuvre. The finish is superb. I have an older version and was impressed with the small improvements made on the side locks, Very good value for money and it will last for years!
Best suitcase ever. Even when full, plus hand luggage sitting on top, it’s still so easy to push along. Quite large capacity so you’ve got to be careful not to overfill it.
A good size for getting through the weight restrictions at airports, weighed in at 19kg when packed for my journey to the other side of the world 🙂
Sturdy and good security with lock and extra clips on side.
Very sturdy suitcase. Easy to roll. just push a little bit and bingo. Only if your luggage to full,it’s difficult to closed but overall they are fine.
Great product! And amazing price! Speedy delivery! Iv wanted Samsonite for years and I took the risk in ordering online, but after searching the high street to see what size I needed. I had the positive vibes that it would be great! Also half the price of main retailers
Having had a Samsonite case since 1987 that had travelled the globe & stood up to some serious battering. One time coming back from New York it had tyre tracks over the top & was pretty squashed. I popped open the lock & it instantly went back to shape. So with this type of quality & having seen 4 wheel cases at airports I thought I’d treat myself to the S’cure 81. When it arrived it looked like I’d ordered a wardrobe on wheels as this thing is massive. Anyway despite my best effort not to pack too much it was easily swallowed up in this case. After the outbound trip it arrived pretty scuffed but to be honest I wasn’t too bothered as I expect it to have a hard time on its travels. On the return it was a different story as it looked like someone had used it as a trampoline with the front caved in. I took it over to the baggage damage office at the airport to show them the state of it & said I would open it to see if it reformed like my previous case. On opening the case it stayed as it was. The lady said there was nothing they were going to do & that I should reform it with a hairdryer. To be honest the case is super lightweight & pliable but it was packed to the gills so was hard to squash. After a week of just being left stood in the spare room waiting to go a way in the loft I was surprised to see that it had reformed itself perfectly. One thing I’m not keen on isthe TSA lock either as it sounds they’re really simple to unlock without the special key.
If you like this style of case I would go for the 75 or possibly the smaller 69cm version unless you are taking away a lot of gear. I just think this case will get badly damaged if not totally packed out.
Bought it for my step-daughter to match a larger case we had bought for her a couple of years ago, which it does perfectly and she loves it. This one is cabin friendly so doesn’t need to be checked in for those shorter trips. Tough and well made just like all Samsonite cases!
very nice case, very light. is has 2 internal separators, one fully zip-able and the other side has crossing straps.
It has a lock that looks like it takes a key, I expected a key with the case but this the TSA bit as advertised and used by the security services, so saves damaging the cases.
recommended
Certainly meets my expectations, proof of the pudding will be when I actually use it. Looks and feels strong in construction, it will need to be when faced by the baggage handlers. Will post comments after first use..
Have now used it on an American trip. Suffice to say the case stood up well to the abuse it got, judging by some of the unfortunate cases on the carousel. Very easy to handle and very secure with the two side fasteners. One tip to pass on – when they attach the baggage sticky label to the case make sure it adheres well as the surface is slightly dimpled and the label if not firmly attached may come off. Would recommend the case to anybody…
So, overall I think this case is pretty good. Purchased two from Amazon and just used them for a two week tour, four flights and five hotels. Like a lot of reviewers here, I was looking for something to supplement my now ageing collection of Samsonite Oysters (clearly the best suitcase ever made).
Big plus of this case is the excellent mobility – the wheels are great and so far have survived unscathed.
So-so is the robustness – as others have commented, unless the bag is packed fairly solidly it may well come off the line with a big ding in it, but, as others have also commented it will pop back out again. Time will tell how well it lasts, never had that even with a half empty Oyster.
Negative – I should have figured this out before I bought it, it is so obvious, but there you go: this case is hinged in the middle, meaning you pack half your stuff in the “top” and zip the internal cover over it, and half your stuff in the bottom. Meaning you lift everything in the top over to close the bag. All of which is fine, but it means most of the places to put your bag in a hotel will not accommodate it – you can’t put it on a shelf and open the top against a wall. This can be a pain if you are hotel hopping like we were.
Otherwise it is up to the usual standard you would expect from Samsonite, great handle and clasps. Also has the joke TSA lock on it, please don’t tell me you are one of the people who thinks there is a baggage handler anywhere on the planet who can’t open any bag after two weeks on the job – the only purpose of suitcase locks is to reduce the chance of your bag popping open in transit, please remember that and don’t put anything in the hold you can’t easily replace.
The bag weighs about 4kg when empty. With a reasonable mix of clothes, shoes, toiletries and general purpose junk (but no books) it was nudging 20kg so on many airlines that’s your economy class weight allowance, meaning this size is about right for that.
All in all a good case, apart from the kinking and the centre hinge thing which I should have spotted myself – doh!
Excellent, it looks like it will be tough and being Samsonite spares should be easy to come by if anything breaks over the next coupled of decades.
Thrilled with these! (I bought two) Large, lightweight and incredibly easy to move along. Colour means it’s easy to tell which is your suitcase when they come off the plane!
Clam shell Samsonite case – as per other reviewers I such prefer to zip ones.
Not yet used, but I have an old Samsonite Oyster case and this seems to be as close a replacement as one can get. Looks well made and like it might last just as long (over 10 years).
I’m not that keen on internal dividers so may remove – plastic “clip” fixing so should be possible without breaking anything / leaving “reusable”, but will need to be very careful / take it “slowly”!. However, lower part of this is a zip pocket (look closely at photos) and it’s part of the divider – so may just decide to leave as is / with main area unzipped.
Wheels, etc., look OK for may miles / trips – time will tell !.
No “sticky letters”, etc., came with the case, so you will need to provide such if you want to personalise the outside of the case (hopefully to stop others taking it in error at airport !!).
Weighs c4.2KG, as per description – so quite lightweight, especially for a “solid” case.
Looks like it will protect internal items (almost) as well as the old Oyster case did.
Slide handle frame is always going to be a problem with my Ski boots, etc. – but this one seems better that others I’ve tried.
(Flat “bottom” was one of the major benefits of the old Oyster case – but then that only had 2 wheels and no “slide” handle / TSA lock.)
Main and the two side locking clips look very unlikely to come open on flights (if you slide the “lock” bits on the side ones) – very similar to my old Oyster case and they have never come undone in over 10 years of use.)
If it’s the size / type / price you are looking for, can certainly recommend it.
N.B. difference between this and “deluxe” version is just the internal bits.
The Samsonite Trolley S’Cure arrived very promptly. I have not taken it anywhere yet, but the wheels work very well and it operates smoothly.(without anything in it). It was fairly easy to open with locks at the top and bottom, and the central lock . Instructions were included in the case. The top panel has a zipped liner, and it would be good to have that in the bottom, but that is available with the more expensive model. I highly recommend Marken-Koffer for speed of delivery and providing an excellent product!!
This case was for my grandson and he loves it. brilliantly easy to wheel around and very strong but light weight.
Excellent suitcase, so easy to move around, strong and very light. We already had two of the smaller cases in this style so we knew the quality would be good. Cheaper than in the shops.
Lovely case exactly what I needed! It replaces a non spinner samsonite of the same size. It is great to have a case which goes where i want it to go!
Swift delivery from supplier. This case was for my wife. On inspection, the case looks just the job. No more struggling in the airports with old fashioned 2-wheeler cases. I think I’ll buy another for myself (using my Natwest ‘Yourpoints’ converted into Amazon vouchers of course).
We purchased these Samsonite cases through Wardow and the arrived within 3 days from Germany. German efficiency at its best i would not hesitate in recommending this company. As for the cases they are stylish, light and hard wearing
Really pleased with the service; arrived well packed and the case is as described. Ironically it was despatched from Florence only for me to take it on its first trip to there!
Needed a suitcase with combined measurements under 1500mm and did not want a zip. Saw these in York and liked them, but they were too pricey and only had blue. This one arrived quickly and seems to fit the bill. Will know better after holiday.
Light and easy to handle. Zipped compartments keep clothes neatly packed away. I already have samsonite cases but this one is lighter and has benefit of four wheels
The case is all that I expected, having had Samsonite cases before. It meets are of our requirements and hopefully will go to many places with us.
Samsonite are great quality suitcases and to get one at this price is fantastic. It has already been well used and is still in great condition. Colour is lovely and it comes with its guarantee.
Arrived promptly and well packaged. Thank you!
Highly recommend
The suitcase was every bit as good as I had expected, the delivery was really quick and the driver very friendly, however the box was soaking wet and if there was anything other than a waterproof suitcase inside there would have been damage done, it wasn’t so everybody’s happy!
Not as hard as my previous Samsonite case, from about 8 years ago, but seems sturdy enough. I like the clip close mechanism, I don’t trust a zip on a rigid case.
