I had already purchased one screen for my office, I use a neat piece of software that sub-divides the screen into three sections though I can still expand if needed. I have found this screen a joy to use at work, so I have now bought another for my house office. I am not a gamer which is the only reason why I have not graded the screen in that category – I simply do not have the experience. Otherwise, its fantastic!
Great Monitor picture quality is very nice, all I need now is crypto currency to go tits up so I can get a decent GPU to get its full potential.
My hubby is a gamer and he is really happy with this monitor. I must say it looks impressive sat in his office, it’s huge!
Its huge, screen is excellent, everything it is advertised as. Be aware you will need a high end graphics card to get the full potential out of this behemoth but its more than worth it.
The Samsung Monitor is just a dream. It’s liberating from the confinements of single screens or from perpetual toggling between VDU’s or open applications. A true quality product that belatedly came within the price range for a human to afford.
I am very pleased with the product, as duly is awesome, and quality of product equally so. Purchased mine for sum of 700 so very happy.
My issue is delivery of product. It arrived 2 weeks late, and when it did arrive Hermes simply throw the screen (in box but product box so a could see) in a hedge of a resident living 3 streets away. Fortunately resident was law abiding and telephoned me to advise. Hermes delivery cost me 31 in flowers and chocolate.
Great product but cr@p delivery service
So 1st off, I managed to get this for 699, hence the 5 star value for money. If it’s more when you’re looking knock off stars accordingly!
However, what can I say, coming from a fairly old 24″ 1080p monitor this thing is incredible!
It is 2 27″ monitors side by side but without the bezel.
I haven’t needed to play around with the settings much, the image was great right out of the box.
Somehow even my RTX2060 6gb can power most games to run 32:9 too (Wolfenstein Young blood runs out of VRam in 1440p, but still looks good in 1080p), although I have had a huge CPU bottleneck with Assetto Corsa Competizione. That game also doesn’t seem to like freesynch/gsynch.
I initially thought I would just play my racing sims on wide-screen and everything else I would just play in standard 16:9 mode.
Hah! No way! If it runs in 32:9, and my card has enough VRam I’m playing it that way! Heck even if I need to play in 1080p I’m using 32:9 mode.
Colours are great, pixel density is great, HDR works, but only turn it on when needed. Freesynch is great and works with Nvidia cards (except ACC as I mentioned).
A real plus is that you can set up 3 different profiles per input, really useful if different users have different preferences.
It is huge, about 1.2 metres long. So you need a big desk.
It also doesn’t always auto switch on from standby, so you have to press the on button. But this isn’t a deal breaker for me.
In summary:
Brilliant for racing games (although triples is better), but everything else looks great too!
Although a better card than my RTX2060 is ideal, you can just about get away with it.
This has been one of the best gaming purchases I’ve made by a mile. Racing, rts and 3rd person games are amazing, next level immersion.
The monitor is also great for work. With windows fancy zones you can design your own zone layout for easy document management.
It’s not perfect. HDR is subpar, it’s a nightmare to update its firmware and I’ve had the remain in sleep issue twice but all of this is nothing compared to the good points.
If you’re thinking about it just do it.
Much higher resolution and way less vrr issues than the previous model of samsung super ultrawide chg90.
Would be 5 if it came with built in speakers for the price it is
I use it for work (mostly) and it has greatly simplified my workflow. You can customise the screen the way you want. 1/3 1/3 1/3 or 1/2 1/2 or 1/3 2/3 or 2/3 1/3 – or way more complex by using blocks.
Very versatile. This is the best monitor that I ever bought and I can’t imagine working without it.
Great specs, great speed and great price for the size
