How to Create the Perfect Sea-Monkeys Habitat – Tips for Sea-Monkeys Owners
Here are our top tips for getting the most out of your Sea-Monkeys:
1. Water temperature– It is vital that you refer to the temperature chart on the instruction leaflet, the colder the water the longer it will take for your Sea-Monkeys eggs to hatch. The ideal temperature for the fastest hatching is between 24 and 27 degree Celsius.
2. Egg anatomy– All Sea-Monkeys eggs vary in shell thickness, therefore those with thinner shells hatch faster and those with thicker shells take longer. This is natural biological variation.
3. Healthy light- Place your tank in a north-facing window so that it gets light, but not directly in sunlight. This will help algae to grow which the Sea-Monkeys eat.
4. Feeding- Feed your Sea-Monkeys only when the water is clear, too much food will cause them to suffocate.
5. Evaporation- If you notice the water level decreasing in your tank refill with bottled drinking water which is at the same temperature as the tank water.

I had sea monkeys when I was small and was feeling nostalgic, they arrived very quickly and it contains everything needed to get started! The sea monkeys quickly grew and even started the have their own babies! This was until I went away for a few days and asked my boyfriend to look after them…. He fed them too much and the water went all green and suffocated my poor monkeys. Otherwise, no issues!
Great for the kids I remember having them as a child and loving them and now my kids love them too! I’ve had ours about 2/3 months now all still alive.

The only thing that I would say is that when I put the eggs in it’s not just the eggs in the packet when I put them in the water there was what looked like little wisps of ink in the water totally made me think I’d been scammed but as you can see in the video not even 24 hours later I has little babies swimming around 😀

Brilliant kit for children as easy to follow the steps
I bought this for my nephew and he LOVES them.
They all died because he over fed them but 4 remain and they have the big one there. So don’t give up on these hardy little animals.
We opened it up, poured in warm tap water, and stirred in the purifier, let that settle for half a day, i then put half a packet of the sea monkeys eggs in, within 2days we had about 10 swimming around, we have left it in direct sunlight most the time, the water is quite warm, we feed them once a week and top up with bottled water.
Id recommend reading reviews about how to look after them rather than intructions, we havent had any problems yet.
They are growing quite big now and we still have half a packet of eggs left.
My son loves coming home from nursery everyday to see how they are doing.

Got this back in may for under 10 easy to set up all eggs hatched and are still thriving too many to count in tank and having been breeding like rabbits over past 2 weeks unbelievable how quick the grow and interact excellent value for money
Wow this is amazing and what a great learning experience look closely you can see the sea monkeys within 10 days we had life we now have lots so feed them every 3 days we also top up the tank with spring water great and well worth the money .Highly recommended for age 5 yrs and up.

When i received this yesterday, I got almost all the pieces. I got the tank, feeding spoon, food and eggs but no water purifier. But I did get 2 food packs so I have some water purifier for fish so I use some of that. I hope they hatch.

The tank itself is great! I really love it and it’s looks great. I have the plain starter tank before and this was a pretty upgrade.
The eggs didn’t give me many baby sea monkeys however and they died quite quickly. Ive seen online that sometimes the eggs in the packets dont do so well so bare that in mind.
I got eggs and food from somewhere else and have plenty of babies now, but I highly reccommend this kit for the tank alone!

This was bought for a presant, they have grown quiet big and you can see them swimming around. Love the space theme.
After looking at other reviews i think people expect to see the sea monkeys after a few days. I bought this for my daughter who has had them before. If you put them above the fire ( they like warmth!) you will see some tiny dots after a couple of weeks. You cant see them properly for at least a month. Definitely worth it after that!

I think as long as you have a warm ish place where they ate kept and they are fed regularly but in small amounts they will continue to grow/survive.
Love this, used to have sea monkeys as a kid and decided to entertain myself and bring back the memories so thought I’d try them again. And they’re all alive and growing very quickly! They’re entertaining to watch grow and they really do work. Plus this kit comes with the bubbler so it makes putting O2 in the water easy helping the sea monkeys to stay healthy.
Bought as a gift, wasn’t expecting too much but after a week or so sea monkeys have started to hatch! Not sure why others have not had as much of a result, as long as you read the directions you can’t really go wrong!

I bought 2 of these as Christmas gifts, in both we had hatchlings within a week. However I forgot to feed them and stir the water so they didn’t last long. Totally my fault, we have bought replacement eggs to try again!
Very pleased with my sea monkey on mars, my sea monkey successfully hatched after a good few days in the very cold winter, and are swimming around this cool tank! A good number of them have hatched at different times and are growing well. The packets made in the USA confirming it is a genuine sea monkey product. The purple pipette squeezer that comes with this kit makes it very easy to aereate the tank. The tank is the size of a large tall mug, fits very well on the desk. Thanks!

The tank is very small which I like as it doesn’t take much space.
I set it next to a Window/ heater. I also used a pipette to add oxygen to the water instead of just Stirring.
I aerated the water with the pipette daily. I didn’t think anything was going to hatch as it looked so lifeless but carried on with the pipette For a minute or so each day. Then on day 4 around 5 tiny little sea monkeys appeared. The next day there were 12, next day 17, next 20, I fed them a small spoon of the included food a few days ago and now on the 8th day of life in the tank there are at least 25 tiny sea monkeys swimming around. They are quite hard to count as they are so small and swim fast.
Hopefully they will keep growing so we can watch them grow into adults.

Very nostalgic! Unfortunately my tank had a tiny hole in which I didnt notice until I had already put the water purifier and eggs in so I will be sending it back. I would advise to fill up the tank and check for leaks before putting anything in there. Thankfully Amazon’s returns policy is really easy. Will be reordering.

Our sea monkeys have survived for 11 months now! They hatched fairly quickly and since then we have had a cycle of new ones being born. We have had a pregnant one for a few months now.
Brought back childhood memories! Had a few glitches with the original batch, however it’s been a few months now and I have 7 still going strong!
I love sea monkeys. I can watch them forever. Such amusing little creatures. Be patient though, you will not see anything at all for a few days and then boom, they are big enough to be seen by the naked eye. This female comes and watches me watching her!

Yes they are really alive! Although I didn’t follow the instructions fully, I put in lukewarm water, added the purification sachet and left it about 20 minutes before putting the eggs in they still hatched! Hatch time took around 2 days and I could see many little sea monkeys swimming around.
I guess it’s a lottery whether they hatch or not as other people have had varying results but for me it all worked perfect. Unsure how long they will live for but hopefully will last quite a while

Fantastic item. A month later my seamonkeys are thriving. There are four fully grown ones and a dozen or so tiny ones. The tank is full of life and it’s lovely to see.
Can’t complain other people’s that didn’t hatch just didn’t hatch because they didn’t care for them properly
I followed the instructions and after a week saw little sea monkeys, which have grown. We only have 5 not sure if you are meant to have more? Very happy how it has gone and will be buying for other people.

Took about a week for my seamonkeys to hatch which had me worried. But on the 9th day a few arrived and now I have about 40 a month later. Would recommend!
They worked really well but had to follow the instructions carefully, great for kids.

I love my sea monkeys! Taken a while to grow and took a while to hatch, but that’s due to temperature of the room they’re kept in. They’ve been hatched around 7/8 weeks now and they’ve just grown to adult size. The female has eggs in her belly. I’m so excited for new babies as down to 2 sea monkeys! I brought this set about 3 weeks ago, and like many other reviewers I had 2 births and then my original sea monkey babies died. As an unorganised person, the tank sat on my windowsill for 3 weeks with no activity. Today I went to throw it out and 10++ seamonkeys have been born!! Have ordered some new food for them as I threw the old food away.

Got this for the little ones as I remember having one as a child. Now I remember them not last long and it was over on a flash BUT…These ones just keep on going, and going and going. Now on the forth or fifth generation. Kid lost interest a while ago so I’ve taken them on and loving it.
My kids 8 and 10 years really enjoyed these. You have to be patient though. We thought ours had died because they took ages to hatch and the water went funny. But we have big sea monkeys now and my kids love watching them and feed them every other day
Bought these for my daughter as she couldn’t believe she could grow her own real pets. Comes with everything you need. Not instant, as the packet says, as you first need to purify the water for 24 hours and then add the eggs. The eggs take a couple of days to hatch. When they first hatch they are tiny, like specks, but the tank has magnifying parts to it which enable you to see them. My daughter is fascinated and can’t wait to see how big they get!
Easy to follow instructions and we have lots of little baby sea monkeys, my 6 year old is thrilled! Put them on a warm windowsill and they hatched the next day. Now my eldest wants done too!
We bought another one of these from a pet shop and that one got going pretty much straight away, this one took some time so if you have impatient children tell them they will work, you just have to wait. I find putting them near a window where it is warmer and they spring into life.

Amazing! I used to have sea monkeys as a kid and never saw anything. I brought it as a stocking filler for my child, not expecting anything to grow. I WAS WRONG! They grew really well and really quickly. Didn’t even need the little viewer windows to see them!

A lot of people say theirs die, I realised they needed more oxygen than just giving the water a stir as the instructions suggest, so I brought some syringes and use those to blow air into the water every few days and I now have two tanks thriving!

After six weeks the eggs started to hatch. Now after seven weeks the creatures are a couple of millimetres in length and very active.
My daughter is now happy and spending time watching the creatures grow and thrive.
Advice for any one buying this is be patient and persevere. The instructions are not definitive and are clearly not shared with the Sea Monkeys!

What an amazing, fun project! We have followed the instructions provided precisely and by day3 they started to hatch. Now on day7 we have 20+ little sea monkeys. They grow surprisingly fast!

My son loved this for his birthday. After a couple of weeks it looked like there was only one sea monkey, but then we started to notice lots of tiny ones suddenly appearing. Very excite boy
Things went well with about 20 little sea monkeys hatching, until first feeding, then they all appeared to die overnight, but 6 weeks on we have one little sea monkey who appeared from nowhere. Only kept it on window sill as 5yr old refused to give up.
Apart from forgetting to feed erm, there doing quite well, end up seeing the odd little one (we all no how they came about)
but not complaining my son loves seeing new ones appear randomly,
Shame cant clean them as waters a bit green, but dose the job of being a pet (which don’t entail cleaning up poo ech)

First batch of sea monkeys that hatched all died but we forgot to stir the water every day as instructed. Second batch that hatched are all doing really well – they are growing every day and the kids are delighted watching them grow.
This was a gift. It was really lovely looking and easy to use. We had results within 48 hours. The sea monkeys are interesting to watch too. Great fun.

Got these for my son for Christmas. At first I wasn’t impressed as nothing was happening…after 2 weeks I was about to tip the water away when I realised some had finally hatched!! Now we have around 7 Sea Monkeys swimming around and a couple of them are now huge! My son is thrilled with his new pets haha 🙂
I bought this as an add on present for my granddaughter for Christmas, I’m sure she will love it as it will be her first pet that she can look after ! Unfortunately they didn’t work so I had 1 dissapointed little girl 🙁
