Bought this for the xbox one. Came all programed and ready to use. Stores hundreds of games and simple to put away. Brilliant all round can’t fault it at all
Can’t say too much really, plug it in and away you go extra storage, used for my series x stuff it works as expected, everything else I own sits on an 8tb external hdd, however as many others have already pointed out, its over priced for what it. Considering the 8tb external cost less than half as much, but then series x stuff won’t run from a hdd..Nice one microsoft.
For ps4 owners works as extra disc where you can install and play games- connected via front usb. Works fast- see no difference comparing to the original disc ( if not faster). Works perfect with PSVR. 2TB disc gives about 1.8 TB space.
As for ps5- as instruction says- it will only work as a storage from which you can install games to main disc of ps5. Cannot play games directly from the drive.
1st one I ordered didn’t work so sent it bck and there was a quick replacement. This was easy to set up, and gave me the extra 2tb of room ready 4 me 2 transfer/install my games thanx & will order from use again in the future
came well packed once installed and after you have formatted the card you are left with 1.8tb , should be big enough for most gamers.
data transfer is very fast can set it up for one Xbox or for use on several Xboxes.
All round very good product however they should make it clear that you can only play ps4 games straight off the hard drive even if you have a ps5 version of a game on the hard drive there will need to be a copy in the internal storage
Don’t get me wrong, this is a great product and to me, easier than fitting an internal expansion. Games transfer between console and drive easily and it worked straight away out the box, no problems at all. When ordering, I mistakenly thought you could play games directly from the external drive and on a PS4 apparently you can, however with a PS5, you have to transfer your game back to the console in order to play it, don’t get me wrong, it’s still faster to transfer than to load the game from scratch but just wish you could play directly from it. It’s something to do with the speed of the PS5 being faster than the external drive. Anyway, good product, I do not regret buying it.
I have an xbox series s, so I’m limited to the amount of games I can play direct from desktop. The( x/s optimised ones). So this is great for me as I can get 6+ more directly playable games on it. Which is more than enough for me. It transfers from desktop to storage at a steady 6.4 gbps on my machine, so all in all I would recommend it.
All good very expensive though is the only thing. I have no problems with it yet, but only time will tell. Good to have the extra storage with the SSD.
Thought having the xbox series X with 1TB would be enough storage for me tbh as most the time when I’m finished with games I delete them to add more in the future but then buying the new call of duty games etc take some much storage up so needed more storage and would of liked the cartridge one like the old playstation one’s but they’re over priced as cost more with less storage then the seagate hard drives so got it for a Christmas present and surprised how small and compact it is,the USB cable isn’t very long tbh but use it from the port on the front of the console and tucked away up the side
Like the green light and so easy to set up and use and always transferring from main storage to hard drive,I’ve heard that you need to keep series s/x games on console to play but shouldn’t be a problem as its easy enough to transfer back and forth
I have the Series X and probably like you, if you are looking at getting one of these, I was getting a bit frustrated with a lack of space. Having an external USB hard drive made some difference, allowing me to keep the SSD free just for series X games, but as new games get bigger, it was getting harder to mange.
At the time I bought this, the price had taken a fairly significant drop, and I thought why the hell not. It’s easy to use, just plug in and go, and you don’t really even notice any difference. But now I simply just don’t have any concern over clearing space any longer. I haven’t really had to make space for a new game since getting it, based on my usual routine of clearing off old or completed games so it’s kept me ticking along well.
All in all, it’s been well worth the price I have paid for it, although I do think the series x should have come with a bigger ssd or the option to add your own M.1 drive like the PS5. But as that isn’t an option, this has served me well.
I’m a big Call of duty gamer and if you are too you know the files are MASSIVE I ran out of space on my PS5 so fast I had to get myself an external storage
I couldn’t recommend this more you literally just plug it in and go it’s ready in seconds, I brought 4TB and have about 8 different games downloaded into it with still 3TB left! I’m left with so much storage space I no longer have to worry about downloading anything I’m extremely happy
I wasn’t sure if the drive was just for storage, but you can play your games direct from it!
I choose it as the main new game download storage, or you use to move games to it for storage to play when you get bored with your new games. It’s so easy! plus the cost compared to the dedicated 1 terabyte one I first bought for 230 on offer!
For me only one downside, Xbox360 compatible games seem to only won’t to be on an internal drive, but that might be just me! You might know better!
Anyway I would definitely buy another one, if this gets full in the future!
Perfect car drive works exactly as stated although knowing what I know now I would’ve gotten an SSD instead but if you have the time to transfer games back and over, it’s perfec
Just bought it the other day. Downloaded a lot of games onto it. Seems to download games quite fast, and the loading times are pretty decent too. Quite a lot of money, but it does come with xbox gamepass ultimate for a month, so not complaining there. All around, just a pretty decent external hard drive for xbox. Would definitely recommend!
Purchased when my GOW: Ragnarok fanboy-dom was at its peak. The design is “cool” and it lights up blue around the edges when your gaming. It isn’t pertinent to the quality of the device but as of writing, you can’t currently store PS5 games on the external hard drive and play them immediately.
You have to re-install the games from the external hard drive, back on to the PS5, which isn’t the end of the world, its just not very convenient. I haven’t done it in a while but on the main menu/homepage, press start button on selected title and select “copy” to send it to external storage device. Would recommend, paid around 90 I think.
Needed a new external hard drive,my old one packed up,stopped working. So I needed a replacement,Seagate are good hard drives, they can store alot on them,I personally use mine for game and app storage on .my xbox, good as usual hard drive.
I recently purchased the Seagate Game Drive for PS5, and I must say it has been a fantastic addition to my gaming setup. As an avid gamer, I often find myself running out of storage space on my console, and this external hard drive has provided the perfect solution.
One of the key features of the Seagate Game Drive is its compatibility with both PS4 and PS5 consoles. This means that I can use it to store and play all my PS4 games directly from the external hard drive, even when playing on my PS5. It’s a convenient and efficient way to manage my game library without the need for constant installations and downloads.
The setup process was a breeze, and I was up and running in no time. The drive is plug-and-play, and it seamlessly integrates with both PS4 and PS5 systems. I simply connected the Game Drive to my console via USB, and it was recognized instantly. The drive is officially licensed for PlayStation consoles, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility.
With 2TB of storage capacity, the Seagate Game Drive offers ample space for my gaming needs. I can store a massive collection of games, including both new releases and classics, without worrying about running out of space. It’s a relief to have all my games in one place, and I can easily access them whenever I want without the need to delete or reinstall them.
In terms of performance, the Seagate Game Drive delivers excellent speed and reliability. The USB 3.0 interface ensures fast data transfer, allowing me to quickly transfer games between consoles or load them directly from the external drive. I haven’t experienced any lag or performance issues while using the Game Drive, and it has seamlessly integrated with my gaming experience.
Another aspect that impressed me about the Seagate Game Drive is its sleek design. The black color and compact form factor make it a visually appealing addition to my gaming setup. The drive also features a small LED indicator that adds a touch of style. It’s definitely a step up from the standard external hard drives and adds a bit of character to my gaming station.
Overall, I highly recommend the Seagate Game Drive for PS5. It’s a reliable, high-performance external hard drive that provides ample storage space for all your gaming needs. Whether you’re looking to expand your game library, store and play PS4 games on your PS5, or simply need additional storage for your console, the Seagate Game Drive is a fantastic choice.
I recently purchased the Seagate 2TB USB Hard Drive to address the storage limitations on my Xbox, and it has proven to be an excellent solution. This plug and play device detected seamlessly and offered the extra space I needed without any complications.
The performance of this external hard drive is reasonable, allowing for smooth data transfers and quick access to stored content. It effectively enhances the storage capacity of my Xbox, enabling me to install and enjoy more games, apps, and media.
One notable feature of the Seagate hard drive is the cool green light located on the bottom of the enclosure. This not only adds a visually appealing touch but also serves as a handy indicator, letting me know when the drive is active.
Overall, I highly recommend the Seagate 2TB USB Hard Drive for anyone seeking storage expansion for their gaming console or other devices. With its straightforward setup, reliable performance, and stylish design, it is an excellent choice. Say goodbye to storage constraints and enjoy the convenience of this reliable external hard drive.
The only gripe is there is no off button so it constantly spins even when the PC is off. Mine however is used heavily so therefore it is not a major flaw for me but it could be for someone else. The capacity is great and speeds are acceptable for a mechanical HDD as all i am using it for is games that i have installed that are not intensive in loading. I like the rgb lighting i keep it on orange as it just looks nice. I recommend if you have a large library like I have on steam. It does come with seagate tools so you can use it as a back up device but i feel it is wasted as you can install most of your games on it and do away with smaller drives in your system freeing up resources like power to relieve your power supply for example.
Connected it to my existing xbox one (day one) formatted it in settings and selected all my games to transfer and set it as default location. So easy to use and so much more space now.
This is amazing compared to any other hard drive like this I’ve tried. For me, this was an absolute steal as I got it on sale, (it was nearly half price). Furthermore, I love this hard drive due to its super fast speeds which allows me to transfer games from one computer to another! Awesome!
There is another impressive part about this item, it’s not only just a hard drive. The artwork on this is also amazing! It looks so much better in person than it does in the pictures, as well the little glow from the led looks amazing. It’s definitely better looking than the standard boring old hard drive on your desk. It’ll give you a little bit more character! Overall, this was an absolute steal (plus it’s authentic) I couldn’t be happier with this purchase, thanks!!
Plugged into my PS4, followed instruction on how to format it, worked fine. I originally thought that I would have to transfer my programs from my PS4 to the drive although I couldn’t find any info on that. Downloaded Borderlands 2 and Rise of the tomb raider which where installed onto the drive automatically, opened them from the PS4 screen and they worked fine. Did wonder if there could be some lag from the drive to the PS4 but didn’t notice any.
This has enabled me to significantly increase the amount of PS4 games I can have downloaded at once, it was very simple to set up as well. As for the PS5 you can store and play PS4 games from it, but PS5 games can only be stored on it and must be moved to PS5 storage to play them.
A big thing to note however is that this hard drive will not store the save data of the games you copy to it or download. So if you want to use this this to take you games to another console you need a USB stick to store your save data.
Brilliant. Can finally play my game collection without the hassle of deleting and reinstalling.
My son purchased this as an add-on for his X-box one, which was much less expensive than buying a new games console! It look great, takes up minimal space and has a green light up bar on the front. It’s great according to my 23 year old son and has given him loads more space to download games to play!
Just what was required for storage and play of my PS4 games on the Ps5. I tried other drives without much success, but I can report that this drive works fine.
Good but Hope it Lasts Longer Than Previous Seagate Drives!!!
This is a great purchase for PS5 owners who previously owned a PS4, as this can be used as a dedicated storage space for those old PS4 games. I would still recommend also purchasing an internal SSD for the PS5 if you haven’t already, as that adds to the minimal storage space the PS5 comes with and you can only play PS5 games from an SSD.
It is worth noting that this CAN store PS5 games, but you cannot play them from it.
4TB for my PS5 was a great idea, definitely worth the money with the amount of games it’s available to hold. Would definitely get two if I could.
I like the design as it’s very good quality and the rainbow light along the front is great and you can set it to change in multiple ways. Downloading and uploading data to and from the drive is nice and fast. I have zero complaints. It might be a little pricey for what it is, but the enjoyment I get from it was worth the extra cost in my opinion.
Idea for ps4 and os4 games on ps5 only cannot play ps5 games strate from hardrive to ps5.use internal ssd storage for that.this hardrive is ideal for ps4 and ps4 games storing for and connected to ps5.do not buy to play ps5 games on straight from the hard drive as it will not happen it will only play ps5 games on the ps5 straight from the external hard drive
The drive itself couldn’t be easier to set up it’s as simple as plug it in and off you go. I only have 50mb internet so took me around a week to download my entire collection but it fit 525 Xbox one and 200 Xbox 360 games with no problem and while you can’t run series x games straight from the drive, you can store them there and just transfer them to the internal storage when you want to play them, this is great as it’s much quicker to move than download your games, overall it’s exactly what you need for a big collection
and I highly recommend it, just be aware it comes with its own power supply so you’ll need an extra plug socket spare
I thought I had ordered a new item but it was used. My problem I should have read the description more carefully, it won’t happen again.
Works spot on, no complaints apart from time it takes to move game from SSD to the HHD & vice versa, which I new going in from research, to get quicker times = a lot more money, so for the price is a bargain only big problem I have is have 120 games to download or transfer to it. I’m half way through now & used 1TB so far mint! It’s series S/X games that take the longest as you’d expect as they’re the only games you need to keep transferring back & forth to play obviously you can’t play them on this harddrive but saves hrs of re-downloading games like RDR2 COD Blackops cold war GTAV all big GB games & with energy prices now that’s a big plus
4TB HDD for 99 is a good deal, especially one already formatted for Xbox and can just be used for plug and play. Simple.
Very easy to use, you just plug in assign for use as either game or media expansion and start transfering games.
Looks great with the Xbox branding and classic green light strip. Blends right in with the console because it’s a nice square shape and matte black.
For people wondering about real time speed of transfers, transfering Fallout 4 + DLC (about 60GB) took about 7 minutes.
If your looking for a drive to store Xbox original/360/One games then this drive is perfect for you. If the average game was 40GB (for 360 and one games it’s normally less) you could store up to 100 different games on this drive.
TL/DR: Downloads games quick at around 1GB speed and can store over 100 games.
Thanks for the great product that is clear for a guy like me that can’t even get extra storage for my fire tv and the paying over 5 months helps my current income situation tremendously
Update:-
Sunday just past there was a power cut in all the north west of Scotland
It concerned me to find that after the normal thing that happens when there’s a power cut, the it said the storage unit was damaged then it wasn’t so alarming when it said it’s repairing it self that took a while and I thought what’s it repairing?? Hopefully this storage unit is tested well enough to withstand power cuts, as we get them at lest once a year, being a part of the so called family of nations but some how spending the to give us decent power structure, roads I near started a rant on the state of the parts of the family of nations aka uk treats those area not filled with their type, easy research
Anyhoo back to the item just be wary that power cuts damage it but it repairs itself but must have an effect???
Have a good 2023 y’all
Bought for my Playstation 4 to expand storage ,easy to use and set up was a painless event simply plug it in and let the console do the rest!
Recognised and well known brand for reliability and comes in a recyclable box.
Good product does what it says what more can I say
Great hardrive, fast speed, compact & nice design, easy to format & save your games on.. however you can only play ps4 games of the drive & transfer the ps5 games for quick installation back on the market he ps5
Use this as a backup storage device on my PC and has served me well. Stored a lot to it but made sure I left enough space for the drive to function. Cannot comment on it as an actual game drive as I use 2.5 SSD’s. Has a Snazzy green light on front. Very happy with it.
Great additional storage, great value, stores loads of ps4 games and really happy with the purchase. I would buy again.
Plug and play simplicity with super fast transfer of games from portable hard drive to main drive within minutes.
The main reason I got this was to store and be able to play my ps5 games from this, but it turns out I can’
So far, so good. Used with my PS4 for approx one month, downloaded games straight onto this FireCuda 2TB drive, which play fine, no issues so far. Time will obviously tell, regards to if it has the capacity it states, reliability etc. I’ve previously purchased different makes which lied about the storage space!
Ordered Amazon Prime, delivered next day, plugged into the PS4, which recognised it straightaway.
Clicked on the Use as game storage option and away it went…
Haven’t seen the boy in days!
Really easy, excellent.
Decent drive, does what you need it to do. I recommend only transferring ps4 games to it as ps5 games will need to be transferred back to the system to play them again.
I bought this during a black Friday sale and I’ve never looked back. Its currently plugged into my Xbox One X console. (All those 4k textures and other upgrades won’t all fit on the small internal memory. Soon it’ll need help).
And I’ve never filled it up. Even with Gamepass, and the huge games in there. Some of which reach up to just over 100gb!
I use this drive to expand my storage for my xbox series S. Although you can not run any games that are optimised for series S you can copy them so you don’t have to redownload your games. Coping takes minutes and this allows for more games in your library. Also xbox one, 360 and original xbox games can run from this drive directly. 4TB is plenty of space for older games or is about 3 to 5 newer games. I found this a good alternative to the (in my opinion) pricey 1 TB expansion card.
Received the hard drive with little information on how to use. This seems quite standard now as there are hundreds of YouTube info examples out there plugged in to a computer and formatted it to exFat and worked as soon as I plugged it into the PS4. Loads of extra space for saving games. Well worth the money. It only uses a small amount of space for set up, so ended with 1.84tb of space. I’m not very tech minded, but have managed reasonably well to set this up.
Bought this HDD as the NVME expansion drive was only 1tb and cost a whopping 199 GBP at the time. Microsoft were doing an offer for 2 NVME drives for 194.99 GBP but still 2tb was still too small and I would have to “hot-swop” them whenever I wanted to access the stuff I saved as it would be 2 drives of 1tb each. The pros were the speed which allowed “quick resume” and being able to play from external NVME. This might be features you want or maybe not its upto you. The HDD was 149 GBP it is a fast drive and allows me to save games on its giant 8TB capacity. I cannot play XS games or “quick resume” from HDD but you can copy XS games to the internal NVME. You can play 360 and some X1 games. The drive has a cool green glow and comes in XFAT format but if you want the most out of it then format it to NTFS as the files system is much better than XFAT and Xbox XS has no issues recognising it. The drive is good value for money and it allows you to store movies and music. I use the “Game Pass” and download my game as default to the HDD until I want to play them, as stated 360 games word of HDD and some X1 work of HDD. If you find your game choppy or slow them move it to internal storage and try again. Overall the HDD is very impressive and will give other HDD a run for there money. If you want a good value option buy this product if not then you might want to wait until the 2230 NVME storage chips are more readily available so that manufacturers can offer more that 1 or 2 tb capacities.
