I love the camera but I just can’t work out how to share with another phone. The manual doesn’t cover this and I am unable to find information on the internet. Apart from that I am pleased with the quality of the camera. It can work well away from the router and gives smooth, clear images. I just wish I could share it.
Excellent night vision and motion detection, picture quality ok for 2k
I use this for my puppies and momma dog in the pen. It has been a huge lifesaver to be able to check on them when I’m not home. Great all the way around.
Loads of products on offer so which to buy? This one of course! Good value for money, and performs well. Simple set up and use. Detection works well and the records taken all appear in order and hassle free. Okay it isn’t motorised but it’s fine for fixed location and one which isn’t in a particularly good WiFi range.
Picture quality is very good . Colour quality also very good . Had a slight problem with recording area and cloudedge app but dekco customer service resolved this very quickly many thanks to brady from customer services for your swift response and help i would reccomend decko products high quality, and fantastic customer services are there if you ever need them. cloudedge app is fair but once you have a play around with it you will soon pick it up .night vision is also very clear viewing .i also found this Easy to install . I fully charged camera before installing it and found the solar panel has held its charge very well .
This solar powered security camera has everything to secure premises. Image quality, cloud service, night vision quality, motion detection, local storage etc. are exceptional. Easy set up. Amy at customer service instantly replied and solved my query, which was related to my micro SD card.
Worked well then broke stopped working seemed like seller was ignoring messages.
Then got a replacement and
Works well again.
I moved from the country, where my nearest neighbors were deer and raccoons, to the inner city where I’m surrounded by prostitutes and shootings, so to feel a little safer, one of the things I did was buy a couple of these security cameras. I was attracted to this particular camera for a couple reasons;
1. They are cost effective
2. They are solar powered
3. You do not have any type of monthly fee to use them.
So we bought a couple and installed them around the house. First let me say I am NOT tech savvy. If it’s more complicated than a toaster, I’m out lol
Pros:
My 16 year old son and I, who neither have ever equipped cameras before, had the job completed in about 40 minutes. Honestly the hardest part was figuring out how to put together the mounts that hold the camera. But the instructions were easy to follow and I had no problems connecting them to the internet, and as you can see, the camera quality is wonderful. Daytime and night time are both crystal clear, the sound is good, they are free to run and I do feel better knowing I can see what’s going on without going out there.
Cons:
They are very sensitive. Bugs flying by, the leaves moving on the trees, anything seems to set them off. I figured out how to set the sensitivity on them and turned them down and it did help.
The alarm on them is pretty generic. I have the volume set at 100 and it’s not very loud at all. My neighbor was in his living room watching TV and said he didn’t hear them go off, so I don’t really think it would scare away an intruder. And also be mindful with the alarm because mine came with it set as motion sensored, so every time I took the dogs out or went to my car, they would activate and that was pretty annoying. But again, easy to change the setting. And lastly, my biggest con is only 1 person can log into the app at a time. So if we get an alert that the camera caught something and I log in and am watching, then if my boyfriend, who’s a truck driver and away for long periods of time, checks the notification, it’ll immediately log me out, so then I log back in and it kicks him out, which is really frustrating.
So with that said, yes they are good cameras, will help you feel more comfortable, will save money and are very easy to install and set up (minus that pesky mounting bracket lol), but they do need to be manually adjusted because the presets aren’t so good, don’t expect the alarm to be alarming and hopefully you won’t have more than 1 person checking the notifications.
Funciona muy bien el nico problema es que lo se conecta a una red 5G, el resto es perfecto
A must have but of kit, surveillance is important these days especially when you have children in the house, crime is on the up and this puts my wife’s mind at ease knowing this is recording 24/7
Wasn’t sure what to expect with this but very happy with my purchase, easy to set up, great images etc, the motion detection works a bit tooo well as continually get notified but there is no person in the camera. Still very happy and with the solar charging makes it easier.
Bonus it’s solar powered. The app is easy to use and the camera works well. Thank you.
Great camera great price night vision great picture quality spot o
I installed this literally in 5 minutes.
I needed something to watch over the new chicks and this has been perfect for it.
I can connect in from work and check on them day or night. Clear pictures that stream well – including sound.
It alerts when there is motion of people but it did fail to trigger when some raccoons tried to get in last night. I have moved the camera a little nearer to see if that helps.
Image I have attached is a screen capture of the video – its actually even better in real life.
Overall a great product and I will buy another.
I like the camera – however the directions for setup are not that clear. (I am 81 and reading instructions on a small iphone is a handicap. The camera app will not let me enlarge font. It took me two days to get it working.
I have now resolved my problems – I can view on my laptip and change settings on my laptop. Most of my problems were caused by trying to use the iphone screen (it is much to small for me to see)! I found the Blue Stacks app and it works well with Cloudedge app so everything is now on ,y laptop.
The resolution is good! I have it set up about a thousand feet away from house at the entry to driveway. The sound volume is great and the fact that I can use the camera with my laptop has really helped me.
Good camera, solar works well maintaining power to the unit, night vision is nominal, resolution isn’t great but sufficient just for monitoring. My biggest gripe is the functionality of the software, it will only record when you tell it to detect motion which is ok, but then you are notified of every movement, you can specify humanoid only but then it doesn’t record other movement. I would think the better option for their software would be to the notification and recording to have their own seperate set of triggers independent of each other. e.g. I want it to record at night but I don’t want notifying unless it’s humanoid.
At first I had a problem with the camera but I spoke with the customer service and they communicated very well and replaced it with a new one. The second camera was way better, accuracy is on point, it records very well and motion detector is on point as well. It has been a month and so far so good since I had it. Recommend buying this.
We purchased this outdoor security camera and had it installed at our front door for about a week now.
Good:
– The overall quality is good. Installation is easy. Great value for the money.
– Real wireless setup for both signal and power simplifies installation. The solar panel is able to keep the built-in Li-ion battery fully charged easily. My cam is over 15ft away from the WiFi router and it’s getting >95% signal strength.
– Both camera and solar panel seem to be high quality. Solar panel comes with 10ft power cable with micro USB plugs right into the cam.
– The camera is a wide angle and coverage is good. The picture quality of the camera is good at FHD 1080p.
– The app is easy to setup and use. It includes the basic motion detecting event recording and human detection to minimize false alert. It also shows battery charge and WiFi signal status, which is quite useful.
Bad:
The camera only operates at FHD 1080p, even though the description says 2K which supposes to be 2560×1440. The seller states it’s a bug in the software and eventually will be fixed.
Things can be improved:
– The cam only records when it detects motion, though it always misses the first few seconds of the action. This seems to aim to conserve battery and storage. I wish it has the option to non-stop recording, and alert when motion is detected. With inexpensive micro SD card, and solar panel keeping the built-in battery charged, there is no reason not too have the continuous recording option.
– the software seems a bit buggy. So far I can view the recorded events, I haven’t been able to save the recording locally on my phone even though there is such function in the app.
– maybe they can improve the motion detection AI to distinguish objects, such as cars, pets and individual faces in the future, like some of the more expensive security cam.
– fix the app so the cam can operate at 2K
Conclusion:
If you don’t want to run your own power cable to your outside security camera, this is probably one of the best solutions at a really reasonable price. Installation and setup was a breeze. Everything is plug-n-play. I’ll give it 5 stars if I can get the cam to work at 2k resolution. As of now, its still a solid 4-star product.
Camera worked fine for maybe 3 weeks then the solar stop charging the Camera.. really disappointed because now I can’t get a replacement.
Update to this. Did some troubleshooting and camera works just fine.
Installed this yesterday. #1 – Solar panel is in a bright, sunny spot. Battery is not charging. We plugged a power pack into the camera to see if it was the camera and it started to charge the battery (according to the app) so something is up with the solar panel. (Q&A for this camera recommends simply charging it with a USB every few days if the solar panel doesn’t charge the camera but why would we buy a SOLAR powered camera if we were willing to do that?) #2 – Infared isn’t working. As most people would probably agree, night time is when you especially want your camera to work. Ain’t happening with this camera! #3 – Motion sensor (in daylight) works well but drains the battery (that won’t charge with the solar panel…) We have reached out to customer service for resolution and I will happily change my review if we can get this camera or a replacement working. We’re kind of disappointed because this seemed like the idea solution for placing a camera in an awkward spot.
UPDATE: Customer service responded within 48 hours with questions and recommendations including “reseating” the USB cable. The solar panel now seems to be charging the camera and though we aren’t sure why because we didn’t change anything specifically to do with it, the infared now seems to be working.
Picture is great if you don’t zoom in on anything. Picks up on close movement but not beyond about 15-20 feet.
So basically, camera has a good picture up close, good for live view. Will alert when something passes close to it so at least that is something.
Think I have fixed the recording issue, not sure how but will take it as a win.
Purchased 2 of these cameras to replace the W-nowa i had because they were an older model and night vision started to crap out at the new place . These guys work great and detect humanoid detection so there’s less messaging regarding tree motion or cars driving by. It will happen once in a while (I live on a busy street) but definitely an improvement since the last guys. The help team is great, they reach out and respond quickly. The app is also user friendly. I am thinking about purchasing a subscription but you don’t have too which is great.
Excellent for the price.. that’s what I thought when we checked this out.
You must have Wi-Fi to use this.
Connects easily and the app is very good.
The solar panel is brilliant.
Very happy with this outdoor camera.
The best customer support experience that I have ever received on Amazon. Really.
The camera works well. The app could be a little better at things like saving videos to my iPhone, but it’s usable.
A good purchase.
Overall, I like this camera. I wanted monitoring directed towards my front door, so this camera is the perfect solution. The picture is clear, the night vision is adequate. The camera alerts me when someone is at my door, and takes a snap shot of who’s there without using cloud or a micro storage card.
Installation was simple with the exception of the micro storage card, which got stuck in the camera. Customer service went above and beyond to help me resolve this issue. When I wasn’t able to get the card out, customer service sent me a new camera quickly, allowed me to keep the original camera, monitored the process from beginning to end, with no extra cost to me. I trust this company and their products.
This is the best solar security camera I have used yet.
Great for indoors or at an entrance as intended.
I had hoped it could detect at greater distance but the quality of the picture is also not designed for this.
So it is perfect for it’s intended use.
I have ordered a different model to try outside for my needs.
Overall, best I have seen yet for this price.
Highly recommend for home use.
I have 5g network and I was not aware until I received the 2 I ordered and found out I need a 2.4 g network—anyone have a work around? If not I will be returning both of them. UPDATE–DECKCO is refunding/sending out two units to replace the two that are not working properly. The customer support is there and I will report after my issue is resolved and change my rating ( which has just gone up 1 star based on their quickly reaching out to me. ) Stay tuned ! New update—received the new cameras and they are working great. I was apprehensive about their customer support but it has been excellent from start to finish. My experience dealing with many manufacturers over the years is that there can be issues with even the best products BUT what makes companies standout is how they resolve the issue and this company has gone above and beyond in my opinion and therefore I am changing my rating to a FIVE STAR . I would not hesitate buying from this company in the future.
This is excellent for the price, it was easy to set up to the cloud edge app and took about 20 minutes to install the camera. Once installed it’s easy to adjust the camera angle. The picture quality it excellent.
I inserted the 128 scan disc card which once formatted works fine.
I had a problem with one of my cameras and worked with their technical support team to try and fix the problem when this did not work the company replaced my camera.
It is good to find a company these days that stands behind its products they went over and above what I expected.
Great value for money excellent footage my daughter now has peace of mind living on her ow
Night vision would be better if you also had a sensor light also installed.
I bought one of these to keep an eye on my backyard, specifically the area around my new spa prior to leaving on a two week vacation. The camera arrived very quickly and it took me only 30 minutes to install.
I’ve now had the camera for about a month and here are my thoughts.
1. Great Wi-Fi signal strength due to the two antennas.
2. Great picture quality.
3. I love the fact that you can save all the footage and snapshots to an SD card, so NO need for the cloud storage unless you want that.
4. The night vision and motion detection seem very strong. You can create a schedule for when you want notifications and alerts and when you don’t. For example, day vs night, home vs. away. This is very useful.
5. Love the solar panel. Every time I check the battery level it’s always at 100%
There was really only 1 con that I had, which really isn’t a con since they fixed it. When I ordered the camera I expected it to have the ability to pan because the other reviews mentioned that, but mine didn’t have it. I may have ordered the wrong one. I contacted customer service and really wasn’t expecting a quick turnaround; our vacation was also coming up quick. To my surprise they were very responsive and shipped us another camera which had the panning function. I was also able to get it installed before leaving. The customer service is top notch in my book and I will definitely be ordering more cameras from them in the future.
Very easy to set up,night vision is ample. Only records movement and not constantly. Doesn’t always pick up every movement either. Battery has stayed charged with the solar panel so no issues there. Picture quality in daylight is great and zoom is a good feature.
I have not tried this because it does not have a card inside , like stated. could please let me have one so that I can get started
It’s been about 3 months since I installed this camera and I can’t think of a single negative. It has worked flawlessly. The app is great. Solar panel keeps the camera charged always. Motion detection is great. I will likely buy more.
Daytime the camera takes excellent quality pictures and works very well..
Nighttime not so much.. The camera works well however it is very hard to tell what is in the picture as it is not clear at all.. I will do some more settings changes and see if I can get the night pictures to a higher quality.. Will update the review in a week or so..
Bought 2 cameras to start and both keep saying offline no matter how many times i try it keeps saying Trying to connect to device, try again later, its been 2 days now. Even tried deleting the device and reinstalling it and nope nothing. The cameras themselves keep getting triggered by the motion detection can see the red lights go on but cant view or review the videos.
After leaving this review they messaged me and were very helpful in correcting this issue.
Item arrived well packaged and everything there ready to install you even get a template too drill the wall. The install was easy took about 20 minutes, the quality of video is great day and night I would recommend
Good product ! Value for money, easy to install, easy to use with app on smart phone. Highly recommended.
I was disappointed that the motion detection was very limited to less than 10 feet. May be good if you mounted on front steps, but I needed something at least 25 ft away like my older cameras. Just not a security camera but a Surveillance Camera.
Super easy to setup and has very good picture quality. The solar panel port on the camera did not charge the camera so returned it. The charging port is near the front on the bottom, so the cord sticks out and is very visible and the rubber cover is exposed to weather when the cord is plugged in. I really wanted this camera but just wasn’t for me.
UPDATED REVIEW: I first gave this camera 1 star but customer service emailed me. Customer service did what they could to make me happy but I need to be able to monitor all 4 cameras at once not 1 camera at a time.
I give customer service 5 stars for trying but 4 stars for not being able to monitor them all together.
Original review:
It charged up really good until it was too late to return it now it only charges around 30% and it runs down before the sun comes up to charge it again. Before you ask, yes I know how to aim the solar panel, I am off grid so I do know how to position it.
I would not recommend this camera.
Vous devriez inclure dans cet achat une micro carte S/D de 64 g, quitte ajuster le prix.!!!!
Vous en offrez 13.00$ sur votre site!!!???
Ce produit est trs bien
Je le recommande
We were trying out the camera and black clothes appear white on night vision. The night vision is a lot better than expected, I can see my entire yard. Picture is slightly blurry but I’m sure you could identify. Set up is very easy if you have basic technology and handyman knowledge.
I like the fact that it works with solar. Easy to work
Bon rapport qualit prix. La batterie a l’air durer longtemps .. une semaine pas brancher et encore 90%
I had problem with it and the seller tried to help me to fix it and now it works properly. Thank you for your customer service support. I love it. Very easy to install, super easy to connect to the internet, sharp images, and easy to track with the app. Please make sure the solar panel is in the direct and fully sun. Again thank you for your help.
Like the title says, the cameras are good, good picture quality, night vision works well, it connects to WiFi from a sizable distance. Only bad thing is the bugs with the app, and the bugs seem to be worse on android vs iPhone. Sometimes I’ll get an alert on my phone but the other person that has access to the cameras won’t. Sometimes she’ll get an alert and she’ll click on it and it won’t display the picture/video in her app. Whenever I click on an alert and go to watch the video it defaults to the first alert I received that day twice before it’ll show me the most recent video.
Update: their customer service reached out to me, was helpful, and said they’re sending the bug reports to the tech team, so I added a sta
I purchased two of these specific cameras. Great image quality and decent connectivity. However, after a day of rain–one of them stopped working. Not sure why.

Support reached out to me, and rectified the issue. New camera is on route, will update further on receipt of the replacement.
Their customer support is extremely understanding and fast.

New camera came in and works great. Fast efficient support!
I was worried about this because I’ve no clue about electrical items and how to install them but my neighbour put this up for me in minutes and had it working on my phone in a few minutes more. Feel much safer now and can keep an eye on parcels too. Very good kit and being solar isn’t costing me anything to run.
This is an incredibly easy to install camera – gone are the days where outdoor electronics require loads of messing around with external wiring and drilling holes in your outer walls.
Mounting the camera and the solar panelling was very straightforward, even for me who is less than handy at these things. We’ve just had our back yard all kitted out with new paving and a large wooden pergola so this camera is now tucked into the corner of the wooden frame with a really good view over the whole back yard.
The solar panel does a great job of keeping this unit powered up and it’s been working really well ever since I installed it. It’s easy to connect the app and use all the features on there. Picture quality is really good considering the budget price tag, perfectly good for what we need and a great extra security feature for our home!
Quand j’ai dcid d’acheter cette camra j’ai lu les commentaires des autres acheteurs. Mon achat correspond mes attentes. Facile d’installation. Pas de difficult la connecter au rseau. L’cran solaire est performante.
I want to start off by stating that this camera has really surprised me. It has amazing features and I was not expecting that I would be liking this as much I am.
I had a few misgivings when I selected this unit to test it out. Why was that? Well, I have never really had much luck with solar/battery type cameras in the past so I admit I was a little skeptical going in. I have a long property lot at a weekend home that backs onto a Ravine and this camera could be perfect, I thought, for mounting it further away from the house and looking back at it! I am hoping to be able to cover an area of about 100feet from the tree line on an elevated berm looking back towards the reart wall/patio of the house. Ok, how did this test go so far?……
On unpacking the unit I found it to have good build quality. The case seems sturdy and more than durable enough for its intended use. As far as the initial installation goes, you need to first charge it up fully (about 8hours) and initially connect it to your home wifi network while making use of the phone app and following along with the screen prompts. If you have ever set up a WiFi type camera on your home network before you should be able to handle the initial setup of the camera with relative ease in order to make it a recognized device within your network. It is very straight forward for the most part.
I have done some initial testing at my primary residence in a temporary set up just to test out the overall functionality and to test the solar re-charging capabilities. All has gone well so far in the last couple of weeks and the camera still seems to be functioning well. (I also have it under an eave for greater protection) You can local archive any video via a slot in the bottom of the camera that accepts an SD Card. However, none is included so you will need to factor that in. You may already have lots of spare cards around the house. I feel that 32GB is a reasonable size to use as it will retain many, many, hours of video. You probably don’t need to go any larger than that.
I am impressed with the video quality of the camera and the recorded audio quality is quite good as well. Phone alerts are quick and I have had no issues in controlling and viewing the camera feed via the App on my smartphone.
Overall, as of writing this, I have a formed a very good impression of this camera. However, I have not been able to put it to its “full test” yet as I have yet to transfer it to my weekend property and mount it within the treeline at the far edge of the home property line! I hope to do that soon and will try to come back with an edit of its operation when mounted farther away and being more exposed to the elements. This will also put the solar capability to its fullest test. For now, I am giving this a solid 4 out of 5 based on what I have seen thus far. If it performs very well at the rural property, I will edit this and bump my rating to a full 5.
At a current listing price of just $79.98 for a “No Fee” Camera system that includes a Solar Panel, I feel this is very good value for money.
Recommended!
This is a great battery powered camera overall. It lasts quite awhile if motion isn’t too frequent without the solar panel, and with the solar panel basically goes indefinitely (at least for me so far.)
I have it placed outside my motorhome to keep an eye on things when parked alongside some other similar cameras, and it’s done the job well. Has held up to some snow storms and colder weather without dieing on me.
Picture quality is good, and you can stream in SD or HD. App isn’t perfect but does the job.
Overall solid for for 80$!
I got this camera for a slightly off-label purpose. After my car was broken into recently I wanted to add a layer of security or at least identification in case it happens again, as my window was smashed right in front of my house. Dash cams in the past have been unreliable in ‘parking mode’ and not been triggered, as well as drained my car battery. This solar camera is bulkier than a dash cam but still quite compact, was easy to mount on my dash with self adhesive Velcro, and self-charges while my car is parked in the sun without affecting my cars battery. As my neighbour shares my wifi, the booster they have at their house extends my home wifi to cover all the parking spots on the street in front of my house, and hotels which I am staying at typically have wifi extending to most of their parking lot, allowing me to check on my car remotely, as well as receive a notification if there’s movement inside my vehicle. These notifications can be customized between certain times, or for movement only in certain areas.
I have always wanted an outdoor security camera but the installation seemed daunting to me. Was I ever wrong! This DEKCO Wireless Solar Security Camera was very easy to install, the hardest part was deciding where to put it! A few drilled screws and it was up and running.
I am very fortunate to have direct sunlight on the solar panel for most hours of the day but appreciate the built-in battery as well for those dark and dreary winter days. I have not been able to test the “weather resistant” claim in the winter yet, but so far this spring with rain/wind the images have remained clear and stable..
Fully charged the camera with the USB-C provided (note: no wall plug provided) before first use. You can record on a microSD (not provided).
You must download CloudEdge from Google Play or Apple store to use the camera. You must also create a free account and the app is straightforward and very easy to use.
The picture quality is very good, clear even in low light. The two-way talk feature is great and again the sound is very clear.
Feeds live footage with only a second or two of delay.
No monthly subscription and great for the price of $79.98
Really impressed with this outdoor security camera, no wiring is required and it is energy-wise as it solar-powered!
I have several security cameras from several vendors… So far, this camera stands pretty well against them.
Picture quality is on par with many security cameras: good 1080p recording in the daylight and decent night vision recording, especially for nearby objects/persons. However, what I liked most is the solar panel: it will keep the battery charged for most of the time if it got 6-8 hours of continuous direct sunlight.
Overall, it is a very decent camera with good resolution, and it can stay on for a long time because of the solar panel. I can recommend it.
There are five battery powered cameras installed in my house from different brands and couple of themes are from big brand bit there is alway a hassle to recharge them but this one is brilliant because it comes with a solar panel and it charge itself. There are 2 wifi receiver antennas and it works perfectly from distance where others usually start breaking up with router.
No monthly subscription fee as you can use a memory card to record and store videos. Only this which is little concerning is the location of memory card slot which is at the bottom of the camera and is easily accessible if camera is in human range.
Easy to setup as like others, motion sensor and night vision is working fine. Solar panel comes with a decent size cable so you can put that easily in a sunny place. IP65 waterproof certification so can go easily outdoor. One thing to remember when installing solar panel is that you keep that in a well lit and mostly sunny area to keep that running. In winters it might effect the performance of the battery because of lack sun light.
Overall a good camera with solar panel power supply and records on memory card. At the time of review this product was available for 69.99.
Has been fixed high where it can scan the rear garden for intruders. It looks pretty robust, and the solar panel keeps the battery fully charged. The CloudEdge app that it uses is common to other devices and is rightly regarded as good. At the moment this has not yet been linked in to my mobile phones and simply goes to a self contained tablet [ where it performs robustly on test] , so I am not able to report how it might perform in anger [ hence a cautious 4* rating], but I see no reason why it should be any different from another make that guards the front of the house, and which is undoubtably pretty hot. I didn’t realise that the app worked everywhere there is wi-fi until one day it pinged in the local Sainsbury 5 miles away to tell me that my daughter was on the front doorstep, and I was then able to instruct over the voice link where where the key was secured. This particular make DEKCO keeps telling me that the wifi where it is has low signal strength [ about 50%], but seems to work well nevertheless.
The set up was very simple. Considering that you are reading this on some sort of internet connected device, you probably have the skills needed to set it up. Personally, I charged the Camara, connected it to my wifi, and the mounted it to the side of the house.
The pictures quality it very good, you can quickly switch between SD and HD. It’s also very good at night. I can make out very clear details
The battery has a generous capacity. It seems to have about twice as much for my settings. The alarm is on, jut at it’s lowest setting. The camera has yet to go dead in this weather.
The microSD chip is very easy to install. It was like all the others I’ve done, there were no surprises here.
The case feels solid. It’s well built and I expect years of service.
The audio is clear and loud both ways. There is a slight lag, but I think that is more the fault of my internet.
This is a great buy for its price point.
Well WOW I certainly did not expect this camera to be this good! Everything you need to get started (apart from the App) is in the box, and mounting it is very easy. Minor complaint that the camera seem to come loose if you knock it so a bit of silicone sealant is my recommendation. Mounting of the solar panel was just as easy and you can rotate both on their respective ball joints.
The quality of the image is just fine, not fantastic but certainly not blurry. Motion detection works well and you can specify areas to track.
I’ve got mine on my shed looking back at the camera, south facing but I do need to reposition the solar panel because it’s probably only working at 40% capacity. My shed is approx 10M outside the house boundary and I’ve had no WI-FI connection issues at all.
I already had the App installed and had this camera working in a couple of minutes. Great.
Just as many other CCTV cameras I had before, this one is super simple to set-up in matter of minutes when speaking about connection with app and phone.
What this camera is benefiting with more than others is that it comes with solar panel that will keep the camera running all the time, you can simply install it and forget about it and about re-charging it.
Standard features it comes with are:
-Night Vision
-Motion Sensor
-Smart Human Detection
-Two Way Audio
-Real time notification
-130 View Angle and many more..
This device will keep your area safe and you will be able to access it from anywhere through your phone. A little bit on higher price range but worth every penny.
This camera works perfectly! It was easy to set up. The process was smooth and the wifi signal is quite solid and was able to reach outside the exterior of the home.
I like that the solar panel is effective enough to keep the camera powered up. The camera’s quality is quite decent considering it is a battery powered camera: the picture is clear enough that I can make out faces of the people who approach the side door.
I like that the camera can use SD card to avoid the need for monthly fees.
The video quality is crystal clear, and the night view quality is outstanding. Easy to install and set up, it takes only a few steps to connect the camera with the App, and the wireless feature works amazingly well to access the camera from anywhere and anytime. The build quality is very good, feels sturdy, durable and well-made, and the solar panel is of good quality as well. The battery will last well during the night and charges enough even on cloudy days. Great product for the money, accurate description, and I highly recommend i
This is a really good camera and is perfect for exteriors.
The camera is easy to use and is working really well.
When you place the camera you have to be sure the sun is given directly to the solar panel but charges well.
To set up, you need to download an app on your phone that is simple to use, just follow the steps.
It is a very good camera and I recommend it.
I still haven’t managed to get round to installing this on the outside wall of our house, but have been testing it indoors connected to a USB power source.
It was surprisingly easy to get up and running, just download the app, create a password, add your wifi password and let the app know you have a camera to add. It warns you to hit the reset button on the camera, which once that’s done connects in a few seconds. Job done.
The app is simple to use and easy to navigate. When selecting the camera image it appears in about 5 seconds. The motion sensor seems to be appropriately sensitive, moving around the room fires off a message to my phone (and connected watch) to say it’s detected movement. As I’m yet to test it outside I can’t tell how well this will work if stuff is blowing around the garden for example, but there are ten levels of sensitivity so it should be possible to find an optimum value without too much trouble.
The solar panel is fairly compact and fits into the base of the camera via a small removeable rubber plug. I might consider a little sealant just to ensure that there’s no water ingress when I install it outside.
Both wall mounts include their own templates for drilling holes for mounting. I don’t really understand why everything designed to be wall mounted doesn’t include these as they are so useful and such a simple and cheap to make, but valuable add on.
Image quality is good and provides plenty of detail, and the field of view wide enough to cover most of the garden from my mounting point when it goes up.
This is quite an impressive camera, being able to mount it without any cables running from inside makes it really versatile. To get the best from it I would suggest it probably needs to be mounted with the solar panel on a south facing wall, though the cable length means it could be mounted around the corner from the camera if the house and garden were appropriately aligned.
At 70 this is a bit more expensive than other similar models that take power from the mains, but I think the versatility of it being completed cable free is worth the extra cost.
Main features:
Wireless, 1080P resolution, solar powered, night vision and motion detection.
TLDR: Easy to fit, good picture quality, night vision is excellent and the alerts are very handy and timely. For detail – read on.
As the camera is both wireless and solar powered, fitting is pretty straight-forward – drilling templates are supplied so as long as you have a hammer drill (or know someone who does), it’s a breeze. The only caveat is making sure it’s in range of your wireless – but that’s easy to test.
Connecting to the wireless is pretty easy, the provided instructions are very clear but if you get stuck there’s a video tutorial on their website. It does require the app installing on your phone or tablet prior to setup though.
Once up and running the picture quality is excellent – clear, sharp and very little delay. The clarity of night vision is surprisingly good and better than I expected.
The motion sensor seems to be reliable and the alert is pretty quick. So far it’s only had the opportunity to let me know when I’ve been outside – which is reassuring I guess, though if it starts alerting me that I’m wandering about on the back yard when I haven’t been out I might be less reassured – all good so far though.
In summary, it’s actually a pretty decent setup with some unexpected features (like intercom for instance). Sure, there are bits I’m not overly keen on – well, just one really, the requirement for yet another account to keep track of, but I knew that going in. It would be nice if the camera could be completely locally managed, but the (free) account requirement is a small price to pay for the convenience and simplicity of setup.
I did look for flaws but, so far, the worse that’s happened is the app locked up a couple of times (had it a month), which was easily resolved by restarting (just the app, not the camera).
I’m pretty happy with it. It does all that I expected of it, and does it well. It’s excellent value and deserves the 5 stars.
Camera arrived the next day as expected.
Very easy to set up and download the CloudEdge app. I am by no means a “tech” guy and even for me it was easy. Using it on a farm hence why I didn’t go with a wired camera. I did fully charge it by plugging into the wall before starting to play with it. I then attached it to a 7′ piece of 2×4 and started walking around the farm to see where I could and couldn’t get a signal. Worked well up to 700′ from my new AP. Can switch from SD to HD right on your phone. Pic I included is HD.
Voice is really good and clear. Walking around property my wife was talking to me through camera and we both agreed it’s as clear as talking on the phone. We have left it in SD and have been playing with it a lot and haven’t noticed battery level on camera drop.
Will up date review in a month (todays date April 10 2022) as we have only had the camera one day. Was easy to set up family with their own CloudEdge accounts then they join the “family” so we can all see the camera at the same time.
One of the things I notice is that the camera is not discreet at all. It is seen from afar, on the one hand, it is good because it will prevent crime and on the other your neighbors can feel watched.
The camera and the application used in the phone is super functional, it can be charged by electricity and also by the solar panel. Make sure it is well charged first if you are going to use the solar option.
This camera was very easy to set up on my Wi-Fi network. Installation outside was very straightforward and with the solar panel connected the camera stays charged very well so far. Picture quality is clear and easy to distinguish the details I need. I am pleased with this product.
I really wasn’t expecting a quality camera considering its a battery/solar camera.
The quality is very good!!
Daytime and nighttime imaging is very good. HD resolution imaging.
The application (APP) is very easy to use. The setup was also easy. The instructions is well described.
You do have to option to connect the camera to a power source.
I decided to use the solar panel.
In over 2 weeks, it hasn’t ran out of battery (always between 50 -100%)
Even those overcast days, it always seems to charge up a bit.
I am very pleased with this security camera and i would definitely recommend.
John –
– This camera uses the Cloud Edge app to run the camera. There are lots of wireless security systems that use this app and so you could purchase other units to run on the same app as well. I have 2 other cameras and also a wireless video doorbell that uses the same Cloud Edge app and it’s very convenient. This is the second camera from DEKCO and I have to say I like both of them.
– WIFI: This camera uses the 2.4GHz wifi band and does not use the 5GHz as many are using now in the home. If you don’t have a dual band wifi signal, you have to go into your router and reconfigure it so that it outputs 2.4Ghz and 5GHz band separately. The support of 2.4GHz is normal as every camera and doorbell units at this price range all use the 2.4GHz and do not support 5GHz band.
– POWER: This camera is battery operated and comes with a solar panel to charge the camera when it’s sunny. This is by far the best system in my opinion. For a wire connection camera, you have to run a long power cord to connect the camera. For a battery operated only camera, sooner or later you have to go outside and charge the camera. But for the hybrid system such as this DEKCO camera, it uses the solar panel to charge the battery and so technically, you’d never have the need to go and charge the camera. The solar is charged via micro-usb port. There is a thick silicon cover in the camera that allows the micro-usb cable to plug in, while providing a tight seal against the weather. The cable is long so you can hang the solar panel in a high place to get the sun to charge.
– MOTION DETECTION: There is motion detection in the camera. You can adjust the Detection Sensitivity between 1-10 levels. But the most striking feature that I couldn’t find on other cameras, even the one that uses the same Cloud Edge app, is the ability to select Alarm Area. You can draw areas to have the Motion Detection to only work on specific areas of the frame that you like. This is nice to have if you have the camera pointed to a busy road and you don’t want the motion alarm to notify you every time a car drives by. Just select the area without the road and you’re all set.
– Overall, this is a camera system that’s worth the $90 price it’s asking for (price is at time of review, including all savings). The ability to charge via solar and the ability to select for Motion detection area are just perfect for what I am looking for. Definitely recommended.
This is peace of mind at a reasonable price. It has been kept simple too for easy installation. There is a template for installing this, just make sure that the solar panel is in a prime position to get the maxium sun and light for the camera to work.
The picture quality is excellent. You can access pictures by linking your phone to the app. It is very easy to do. Great value
This review evaluates the “Wireless Solar Outdoor Security Camera” made by DEKCO.
The product was well protected in its packaging; all components are snugly contained in a form-fitting block. What’s in the box: One (1) Wireless Camera, one (1) solar panel, one (1) solar panel adjustable mount, one (1) micro USB to USB-A to charging cable, two (2) mounting screw templates, one (1) “Warning 24HR Video Surveillance” sticker, two (2) packages of mounting screws, and an owner’s manual.
I ordered two different models of cameras from DEKCO (both solar) and I wanted to test them side-by-side so you will see both cameras in some of the pictures (my review of the other DEKCO is also on Amazon). I mounted both cameras to a 4ft high by 6″ wide piece of plywood and temporarily mounted them on one of my trees in a location of lots of sunlight. This review is the DEKCO camera (model: S01) is the bottom one in the picture.
First impressions: The security camera comes in a small form factor and is light but feels rugged. The camera comes in a matte white finish and looks sleek and modern. The camera is IP65 weatherproof rated and has a grommet where the solar panel cable connects to the camera. The grommet also covers the access panel for the on/off switch, reset button, and microSD card slot. The camera runs off an internal battery that is trickle-charged by the solar panel. All communications with the camera are via your home’s WiFi network (works only with the 2.4GHz WiFi band does NOT support 5GHz WiFi) and can be controlled and monitored using the free CloudEdge App. You have near-total flexibility in mounting this camera because there are no wires to run to your home.
PROTIPS – BEFORE you install the camera in its permanent resting place:
1) Fully charge the battery using the micro USB to USB-A to charging cable (included) and a typical cellphone charging block (not included). It will take many days with the included solar panel to charge a battery that has been significantly drawn down. The panel is only designed to constantly keep the battery topped up from its daily activity.
2) This camera is fully configurable via the CloudEdge App which you MUST download to your cellphone and sign up for a free account. There are no fees to set up an account (email and a password).
Once the battery is fully charged, open your CloudEdge App and it will walk you easily through the set-up and registration of your camera. This set-up is easiest done in close proximity to your WiFi which is why you should set it up inside from the comfort of your easy chair LOL. The App is fairly straightforward and easy to navigate and use supporting multiple DEKCO cameras. There are no hidden fees in the App unless you want the pictures stored in the Cloud instead of the onboard SD card. You are sent real-time notifications via the App when movement is detected (to save battery power, images/video is only taken once movement is detected). There is a microphone that works really well and clear and a speaker that allows you to talk with the person in the picture. The unit also has lights and a siren that can be turned on — I found it loud and annoying so I’m quite content to leave it turned off.
The quality of the pics was great, even at a medium setting on SD. On the higher HD end, the resolution is quite sharp. The camera has Zoom in the sense that you can “pinch-zoom” a picture on your App to read a license plate or see a face in more detail.; that being said, it is pretty clear doing so The night vision is decent for this class of camera.
Some things I didn’t like was the awkwardness of the micro SD slot insertion/removal of the cards. The spring-loaded slot is difficult and you pretty much need a decent fingernail to release it. I can see dropping the tiny card into the outdoor abyss as a distinct possibility I wish you could also delete pictures from the onboard microSD card via the App. Another curious thing (although not a deal-breaker) was this claim by the manufacturer: “The Alerts That Matter: Human detection technology enables home security cameras to intelligently detect body shape. Ensuring you are only alerted when a person, and not a stray cat, approaches” Well, the camera sure had a hay day with my dogs running around LOL I received plenty of notifications of activity only to see my beloved dogs.
I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program so I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. My experience with this class of camera products (if there are going to be failures/issues) is that they either 1.) Dead on arrival (DOA), 2.) Die within a short period of a week of steady use or 3.) Die after their first harsh Canadian winter. Therefore I am going to monitor this product over the next 8-12 months of use and revise my review should problems arise.
Cost-effectiveness and value: At a current price of $95.99, I feel that this is comparable to competing products and is good value for the quality delivered.
In summary: I was impressed with this product. The “Wireless Solar Outdoor Security Camera” made by DEKCO is compact and well made. The joy in this product is the ability to wirelessly mount it (within the range of your WiFi network) without the need for external power. It is fully featured and configurable via an excellent App from the manufacturer. While this camera won’t replace a high-end wired system, it definitely has a niche and I would recommend this product without reservation.
Pros :
Compact and light.
Sleek and modern looking in a nice matte white finish.
Easy to set up and use.
Wireless hook up — Full flexibility of location install.
No external power needed — trickle charged via a solar panel.
Fully featured and configurable via an excellent App.
Great photo resolution.
Flawlessly transmits photos to your cellphone with real-time notifications via the App.
Store photos on the Cloud (pay service) or use on the onboard microSD card (free).
See, hear and talk. Onboard microphone and speaker to communicate.
Good value for the quality and functionality delivered.
Cons:
Does not include a microSD card.
This solar power cctv camera is a very nice piece of kit . Come very well packaged. Included in the box
1 solar panel with micro USB cable
1 cctv camera with micro USB cable
1 wall mount with raw plugs n screws
1 warning sticker
Very easy to set up with the app .
Insert sd card using with the app scan QR code with camera.
App works perfectly fine
Picture quality is good.
Inbuilt mic for conversation though the camera.
Easy to install. Charge battery over night before installation than the solar panel keeps the battery charged .
A very nice produc
Set this camera up underneath our Garden archway mainly because that side of our house isn’t exposed or well lit. Setting up the camera and connecting to the app was fairly easy. I have the solar panel directly above it which gets sun all day long so hopefully it works well enough to keep this charged. Camera quality is pretty good too. It doesn’t come with a Micro SD card which you will need to pick one uip…that is really my only complaint. I wish with these things is that they would come with a Micro SD card – they are relatively inexpensive and the manufacturer could easily add a few dollars to the price of these and include one saving people the hassle of having to pick one up.
So the description states this is a:-
Security camera outdoor. Wireless solar security camera, 1080p HD, smart human detection. Simple setup, night vision CCTV camera outdoor.
You need to fully charge this camera first useing the USB supplied, but does not come with a plug.
You have do this first charge from the main and when the camera is fully charged, it can then charged via solar panel and works with 2.4GHz WiFi does NOT support 5GHz WiFi. Which is OK for us because 5g isn’t working here yet anyways.
7-Day Free Cloud Storage Included, you can then decide if you want to have a cloud subscription or just use the sd card for memory storage.
The camera has a rotatable base, that can swivel 180 horizontally.
I needed the camera set up but I needed it to be rechargeable or solar panel because there was no other power source near.
Its fitted in perfectly, its not continuously recording, it records and notifying me via motion detection.
It also has 2 way audio, firstly use to scare the family members when they didn’t know I had the camera set up lol
”CloudEdge” is the app you need to down load, then your able to sort what settings you need and personalise it to suit you.
I already have a very similar solar cam set up at the front of the house, I’ve placed this out back. Not just for security but I’m also able to keep an eye on my oap parents when I’m not at home. I can tune in and check on them when needed.
But otherwise so far so good
I will update this review if needed.

I am not new to the world of ip cameras I have used a foscam and Wyze v2 camera previously and I have to say the image quality and night vision on this camera out do thise previous cameras I have had. The app is also more responsive and works far more often. With the wyze cam I found that I would have times where the app couldn’t connect to the camera and Id have to keep refreshing but this doesn’t occur with this camera. It was easy to set up, I downloaded the app on my iphone and android phone called cloud edge. I am using it with the solar charger and even though the previous days have been cloudy and we even had freezing rain that covered the solar panel in ice , it still quickly topped the cameras battery up to 100%. The camera has a wide field of view which lets me see a large portion of my property. The default sensitivity for the cameras motion detection is also good it doesn’t constantly go off but if someone walks into the frame I get notified. With my wyze cam I would get alot of false notifications for nothing. I installed an Sd card and can view footage saved and even if I am not on my home wifi network I can check my camera through the app. It has an intercom function so I can speak through the camera if I see someone and also an option to sound a siren. Overall I have to say I am very happy with this camera compared to previous ones I have used and will update this review If I encounter any problems. I would not hesitate to recommend this and would buy a second one if I needed.
This review is for the Security Camera Outdoor – DEKCO Wireless Solar Security Camera, 1080p HD, Smart Human Detection, Simple Setup, Night Vision CCTV Camera Outdoor
I totally love this camera, it is really well made and love the fact that you can charge it via the solar panel. I gave it is full charge before install and it now stays topped up via the solar panel.
The camera was is good step and motion detection and picture quality are fantastic. The app is simple to use. Would totally recommend this product and brand. Well done, great price too!
PROS:
– solar panel helps keep it powered
– wireless setup, so nothing needs to be done to your house
– quality build products
– allows for SD saves in lieu of cloud saves
– decent picture quality
CONS:
– you just need to buy your own Micro SD card
The Dekco security camera is a good quality product, allowing you to setup a monitor for indoor or outdoor. I had set this up to view the backyard, but I placed the camera on the inside of a large window over the patio door.
Setting up is quite easy, but you need to purchase your own SD card if you plan on saving clips (at least without cloud saves). No matter, SD cards are quite cheap these days.
The build quality is rather nice – I wasn’t expecting such heft from the body of the camera. The plastic body seems to be thicker than most items of the sort, which is good.
The solar panel is nice an large, so I am hoping that it is adequate enough to keep the camera ready at all times.
Setting up the camera requires an app that you download to your phone. This helps you set it up and configure as needed. One thing I noticed is that when setting up on your wifi, it wouldn’t accept 5G, so luckily I have 2.5G as well (most smart home/security devices run on 2.5G; I have dozens of smart items, including switches, light bulbs, Alexa products, you name it). After several failed attempts, it finally accepted the wifi. The app helps determine your settings, how to record and even provides battery updates. I assume that the solar panel simply charges the battery and hopefully it will stay topped off for a long duration.
Overall, I find the DEKCO security camera really good for the money. It’s convenient that you don’t have to run wires everywhere and is a decent build to boot. I highly recommend using one!
Excellent for the price. Great video. Only thing to remember is to place the solar panel in sun lit area. Easy to install. Fast setup for each camera. Reccomend.
This camera system is good, it took all of about 10 minutes to setup including attaching to the wall and the solar cell does add battery life to the unit meaning fewer recharges. The motion detection, wifi and picture are all good and I must admit I am impressed. The app is ok and ideally you should make sure the solar panel is in direct sunlight all day.
This Solar charged, battery powered wireless security camera is just incredible value at 59.99 (at the time of review). Although this is only 2.4Ghz and NO 5Ghz support, I would think that is done by design – as 2.4Ghz maybe relatively slower that 5Ghz, 2.4Ghz is far more reliable and has greater range than 5Ghz.
Well packaged and comes with all you need to physically install both camera and solar panel – including drill hole templates for the 2 base plates.
At first I wondered how the ballheads were going to be tighten to stop the camera and solar panel drooping – the simple design of the base units just uses the screw clamp to pull the and tighten the ball head… and it does a pretty good job of keeping the solar panel and camera in position.
The only minor issue I see with the physical build/design, is that when the solar panel is physically connected to the camera using the micro USB cable, obviously the cable will stick out, but the cover cannot be closed around the cable. This means the SD card slot is left exposed and moisture could seep in.
The App is easy to install and connect to the camera, and the features available are great:
2 way Intercom
Screenshot
Record
Siren (which is LOUD)
Motion detection – including setting a specific Area in the frame that will trigger motion detection and leave the rest of area ignored for motion detection.
NIGHT VISION is automatic – as it gets dark, it will automatically change from colour, to greyscale night vison… which I have to say is absolutely brilliant.
This is such great value – a definite and easy 5 for me (if the rating were out of 10, then I would rate it 10)
This security camera is a great help for surveillance at your home.
The DEKCO Wireless Solar Security Camera has a smart human detection that reduces false alerts. It is easy to install and has a night vision feature that allows you to see clearly throughout the day and even at night. Also, it features a real-time notification when motion is detected so that you never miss a thing with 130 view. You can zoom-in up to 4 times on the App to see better within the coverage area.
Included in the box it has 1 camera, 1 Solar panel (with 3m Micro-USB cable), 1 Adjustable mount for camera, 1 Adjustable mount for solar panel, Screws/plugs for mounting, 1 Micro-USB to USB-A charging cable, ’24 Hour Surveillance’ sticker, Hole drilling templates, Instructions and a Support leaflet.
I got this camera to monitor my front garden and garage area since I am always out travelling for work. Now I can monitor all activities happening outside our house even if I am not home or at night if we are in bed. Since it’s wireless I can move it wherever I want, and I am happy that it is solar paneled so charges through the day. I just put a Sd card in it to store and save video footage, then when it is full, it will automatically delete the oldest data and replace it with the new footage.
Overall, I am happy as this gives me sense of security for our home and is a good value for money.
Very well priced security camera, with solar panel to boot. At the time of writing this it is 20 dollars off now going for 80 dollars. Picture quality is good during the day, being 1080 P. The night vision works fine but picture is actually quite good as well. The app works just fine. It has 2 way audio which is always a good feature, so you can find out just why that person is doing what they are doing, Or if you have it at your front door you can talk with the person knocking on your door even when you are not home. It accepts an sd card so you will not need to pay for a subscription. There is about a 3 to 4 second delay from when the camera captures movement to when you actually get the notification, but again that is somewhat normal. Even my 500 dollar camera has a delay of about 2 seconds. The solar panel works well, and the app shows you the battery level which I really like. Overall a good camera with all the bells and whistles for a good price.
Summary
An excellent all-round product with easy instructions and mounting kit.
Mounting
There are paper templates for drilling holes and screws and mounting plugs provided for both camera and solar panel. Tip: Ensure you place the solar panel in a position that gets a good amount of sunlight. This doesn’t necessarily need to be attached to the house – as long as your wifi signal is strong enough.
Set up
Is very easy. Download the ‘Cloudedge’ app onto your mobile device and follow the instructions; switch on the camera and press reset for 15 secs or until the LED flashes slowly. If you have another camera attached to Cloudedge, you can display them together within the app and zoom onto one of the images by ‘double-tapping’ the image you want to enlarge.
Night mode
I am not a fan of night mode as for battery (or solar power) this can use excessive amounts of power in the winter when you do not get much charge from sunlight during the day. For this reason, I mount external lamps to light up the area and disable night mode. This also provides colour images 24hrs a day.
Video and image capture
The app supports video capture via a paid-for cloud service, or you can also insert a SD card into the camera for local video capture. For images you can capture them within the app or insert the SD card to ensure you do not miss historical events. You can also use your mobile app to zoom into your video or images as you would a photo on your device – I would recommend HD video if using this feature.
Wifi Signal
My router is approximately 30 feet (through walls) to the camera. During set up, the camera did complain that the wifi signal was not strong enough but it still works well and even with HD video.
Not at home
Not a problem as the app works over the internet providing you with monitoring no matter where you are. I found this particularly good using mobile data (ensure you have enough data in your plan as video is very data-hungry).
Siren and talk to ‘intruders’
The siren is a nice touch to put off intruders from breaking into property. You can also speak to them over through the camera, although I found there is a delay and varying sound quality with this feature.
This is a good budget priced solar powered Wi-Fi camera. It’s well made and has decent image quality.
For the price $79.99 this camera is a good deal compared to some other name brand cameras in this space. The build quality is good and picture quality is 1080p HD.
Night vision and motion detection are pretty good but depending on your environment you can get a lot of false positives with the motion detection.
Like all cameras of this type you will have to download an app and create an account. When you do this you will be giving the manufacturer access to some of the data in your phone which they may use to subsidize the cost of the server and bandwidth.
Set up was easy but in order for this camera to work properly you will need two things
1 – Good Sun Exposure
2 – Very good Wi-Fi signal strength at the location of the camera.
If you do not have these two things then you will be disappointed in the performance of this camera.
If you have good sun exposure and excellent Wi-Fi coverage then you should have good image quality and smooth live streaming.
Overall for $80 it’s hard to go wrong with this camera from a cost perspective just keep in mind the performance depends on your Wi-Fi network and sun exposure.
Pros:
-Install and forget about it. The batterry is alway at 100%. As long as you leave it on motion capture only it hardly takes any battery life
-The solar panel is efficient: I install the panel outside but not facing the sun directly. It still charges the battery constantly during the day
-The free app has tons of options for scheduling and motion sensor.
-Camera is HD: clear view during the day.
Cons:
-Night vison isn’t really clear: it is not really night vision, it looks more like added brightness. Very blurry
-Time delay of 2-3 seconds on motion senso
For the price I’m very impressed. I was unsure how good it would be, but I’m very happy with it so far.
Links to WiFi easilly and at a good distance.
The app works, motion detection and how it saves images. Also no wires and solar powered is great, it mounts on the shed fine. Buy an sd card as well so it’s got one installed in it.
Night vision is OK as well. I used the solar panel mount for the camera as it seemed a bit firmer, but doesn’t make any difference really, and you caiuls just charge it from usb/powerbank every month if you don’t want to mount the panel.
Overall for the money it’s very good so far.
Not the sharpest of pictures at distance but
Overall a great camera for the price, battery lasts very well.
I’ll be buying a second one.
Current price point at the time/date of this review: $79.99 with a 20% discount and a $5 OFF coupon provided by the seller. Reasonable and fair considering this is a “solar powered” unit with a built-in battery. Note: The term “solar powered” can be a little misleading to the novice, this unit is actually battery powered and the solar panel is designed to charge and top up the battery. This isn’t direct sunlight going into the panel and directly powering the unit. Nope, the results would be horrific. Almost all solar powered units work with a battery installed for consistent results.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Make sure the solar panel is obviously directed where sunlight hits the most all throughout the day for optimal power. A little known fact, you can also direct sunlight using a mirror or some other highly reflective surface to get even more solar charge out of the unit. Of course it won’t compare to direct sunlight, but it works.
The camera works really nicely, and I very much appreciate the fact that I don’t need to manually charge it all the time unlike all the other (non-solar panel) units out in the market. That can be really hassles over time and it’s one less item in your home you need to care for and maintain.
Image quality of the camera is great and it has most of the common features you come to expect with these types of “budget” surveillance products readily available on the market. The exterior quality of the camera isn’t too bad either, in fact I sort of dig it, it’s unique and a little bit of a flat look two it with of course the two wireless antennas sticking up. It’s different. And yes, it does feel well built and the quality is pretty decent. It handles like how an outdoor camera should.
This is a simple instal as no wires pass from the camera to the house so it’s just a case of mounting it and making sure the solar pannel gets some sun time, video quality is really good and can pick out details just fine, it’s been fine in the rains and so far trouble-free so I give it 5 stars.
DEKCO Wireless Solar Security Camera,
Much better than expected you really cant complain at this price camera is quick and easy to install and is up and running in no time.
Features HD, Smart Detection and Night Vision.
I dont use this as my main camera i have a blind spot at the side of my garden and this being wireless and solar powerd takes care of that area for me.
Im really pleased with this little gadget i had no idea it would be so useful.
This camera is a 1080P HD WiFi security camera surveillance system which is plug and play, infrared night vision and motion detection.
This camera comes in a box with a wall mount
The camera itself is sleek and is all white and black.
The camera is quick and easy to set up even if you are not a very technical person. There is a step by step guide in the instruction booklet which all you have to do is connect the cables and the. Download the app, you then need to use your smartphone to register the camera with your phone. Once set up it can be controlled from your phone and the camera can be viewed.
Takes a few minutes to install but it is very simple. I had no problems.
This is good for your home for example the front door or back garden just generally around your house if you are not in. You can feel safe with this camera as you can check in at any time. Keep an eye on your belongings anywhere anytime, great for monitoring.
It’s a great product and good quality for the price. It’s good how there is a SD card slot so you can have this to record for motion detection for security purposes and there are connections to connect to your alarm system to trigger when motions are detected.
Overall a very good camera compared to other products and works really well and the material is very smooth and strong for long lasting and the quality is very good.
This camera came in a sturdy box, very well packaged. It is easy to install as the box contain everything that you need and the user manual. I’ve ordered this camera for my parent’s house and they are very pleased about this item. The quality of the images is very good.
This security camera for outdoor works excellent with no any problems. What’s I mostly like that there is solar panel, with this solar panel you will enjoy 365 days a year non stop power, completely free from the hassle of disassembly for charging. With this camera you will be able to see, hear and talk via your phone, has really good option, real time notification when motion is defected. Digital zoom x4. You will be able to look back the past, cloud and micro SD card record and save videos those captured by your DEKCO cam. You can download the videos and review them anytime and anywhere. You will find and locate to the specific motion event quickly and never miss a thing. You can even share this camera with your family, just scan a code or search account on the App to share the cam, they will be able to remote control and check.
Good value for money I can easily say. Great quality. Highly recommend.
This camera was easy to set up and it works well. It obviously does need to be installed on an outside wall but you don’t need to wire it in so it’s not too difficult to do yourself. You then need to connect it to Wi-Fi and install the app on your phone. We had no issue with the connection but the Wi-Fi router is near to where the camera is installed which probably helps. I love the fact that the camera is solar powered. I imagine we might need to top up the battery in winter as we get a lot of shade. The image quality was very good and certainly clear enough for security purposes.
The Dekco security camera is a great device for keeping an eye on your property without having to worry about hard wiring or battery charging. The camera is small and compact, very easy to install and requires no electrician or qualified tradesman, simple secure in place and use your phone app to connect it up to your nearest WiFi signal.
The camera won’t work without WiFi so having it is essential. The video quality from the camera is excellent, the app functionality is intuitive and easy to use and the night vision is impressive too. Overall a great camera, a very fair price and well worth the money.
UPDATE 2: (My first update and original review are below)
Dekco customer services have since got back to me, apologised for the faulty camera and arranged for a new one to be sent out immediately.
The replacement arrived next day and has now been installed for a couple of days and is working exactly as it should.
Because of this my original review of the camera still stands and I’m impressed with the way their customer service people dealt with the problem.
Back up to five stars!

UPDATE: I’ll leave my original review below but I’m dropping this from five stars to one.
After being in use for a day the battery was flat. It took 24 hours to fully charge from a USB charger before I could start to look why the battery drained so quickly.
It turns out that the IR lights are constantly blinking on and off (5 seconds on, one second off, five seconds on, one second off) and this is draining the battery very quickly as the IR LEDs are on most of the night. No recordings are being made when the camera is doing this ‘blinking’ but it still records when motion is detected.
I have done a factory reset and changed all the settings but the problem continues. It stops if motion detection is completely turned off but this defeats the object of the camera. I have also tried things like blanking off the PIR sensor to see if the IR lights were triggering it, blanking daylight sensor etc.
I have a lot of experience with these sorts of camera and technology in general and it looks to me like it’s a firmware error.
I e-mailed Dekco customer support about the problem and still haven’t had a reply.
For these reasons (unusable camera, no customer support) I’m dropping my rating from 5 stars to 1.

There are a plethora of battery powered security cameras available on Amazon at the moment and I already have a couple. Usually I have to charge them about every 5 or 6 weeks.
This one is different because it is supplied with a solar panel. I imagine that in the winter I will occasionally still have to charge the camera manually, but in the summer months the solar panel should keep the battery topped up. This is particularly useful if you need to install the camera in an inaccessible place where you don’t want to remove it for charging too often.
I already have the CloudEdge app for one of my other cameras, so setup only took a couple of minutes. If you’re starting from scratch you simply have to install the app from the play store then register it (e-mail and password required), then add the camera.
There is paid for Cloud storage available (with 7 days free trial) but I have chosen to insert a Micro SD card to save recordings. Motion detection areas can be defined in the image and sensitivity adjusted. Recording time can be set to 10, 20 or 30 seconds.
All the usual facilities are available (two way communication, SD/HD selection, remote siren activation, alarm alerts etc.) and there is a useful facility to track battery power and wifi signal (see picture).
There is a rubber blanking plug on the bottom of the camera. Behind it is the SD slot, power button, reset button and the Micro-USB charging port. This plug has a removable section that can be popped out to accommodate the charging cable from the solar panel (see pictures). The plug is a good fit but I applied a dab of silicon grease to make sure there’s no water ingress.
Daytime and night vision images are on a par with other cameras in this price range (see pictures and please note there is additional IR lighting around the gate area).
There are better cameras out there if you want to pay two or three times more but this camera is similar in capability and performance to other battery cameras in this price bracket but most cost more and don’t include the solar panel, so it deserves 5 stars.
