Perfect for a small apartment or flat. Charge is good for using at least twice and I love that you can use it on different types of floors. Great product and still very pleased with it after over two years of use.

Love this it is so much quicker than having to drag my old corded one around. Suction is wonderful & it is so light but still does a great job

Deliberated over this for ages but I’m really pleased with this vacuum! Nice and lightweight with great suction. I wanted a vacuum I could just whizz round quickly with when I had five minutes. This does the job brilliantly. So convenient it has made my corded vacuum pretty redundant. Battery life is good enough. I can do a quick hoover of a 4 bed house. A longer clean might challenge the battery life a bit.

An older relative who can’t be arsed with getting out a vacuum cleaner (with a lead) is happy to whizz around with this. he also feared hoovering the stairs with the old cleaner but like this when broken down into handheld mode, (which he can do)
Lightweight with good suction, flexible. two batteries. great. maybe a bit dear, but, you get what you pay for.

Have now used it for a year and this Shark works so much better that my previous Dyson which sucked! My main problems with the Shark are that even with only a two bedroom flat and a hair shedding cat: a) it needs frequently emptying everytime I use it (which probably shows how good it is) b) the brushes clog a lot c) it should have come with the flexible hose attachment that I had to purchase seperately for use with the dusting attachment d) a better designed dusting attachment would be useful, e) it definitely needs the extra battery that I had to purchase seperately to clean the flat in a single go. Sounds like a lot of gripes but I am really happy with that I bought it.

Bought this several months ago to replace a very heavy plug-in. It works great, and allows me to clean up quick messes or do a longer cleaning of the house. I can barely get through the whole house on a charge (2-storey house). The battery charges quickly and the filters are easy to clean out. I know it’s a small thing, but I LOVE that the panel above the brush head comes off and that the brush head has a groove so I can easily get scissors underneath the long hair (from the women in the house) to cut and remove it.

Excellent product with great suction and ease of use. The machine is very well engineered and the different parts click together beautifully.

Since the motor is held by the hand, some may find it a bit heavy but you will get used to it. I also find that it just runs on the carpet pulling you along!

Removing hair from the brush is a pain as it is not detachable like the Vax. So one star less.

After having used it for several months, very happy with it overall.

Performs well from new but becomes easily clogged with everyday waste such as short pet hairs or individual pieces of cat litter which really should be easily dealt with. Needs cleaning much more often than is suggested and is quite tricky to clean. Lightweight and very easy to use on stairs. Seperates simply for hand-held functions. However, some of the accessories are pretty useless and I usually only use the one, meaning I have a bag full of tried but then disused extentions. Charges quickly and easily.

Man…. I love this hoover, I havent had to get the ‘proper’ hoover out at all. This is so good that it has made the big hoover redundant.

It picks up really well, especially on carpet, and came with a variety of tools for cleaning uphilstery.

We’ve had it for 6 months and have not noticed any degradation of the battery.

Its light enough to wiz around the house and i now don’t mind doing the hoovering!

Ours came with two batteries and I recommend two, it means you don’t have to take the battery out to charge after each use, and the degradation is spread over to batteries.

    some of the take aways.

Picks up so well I’ve not used my big hoover since I bought this 6 months ago.

    Battery life is good.

    Versatile

    Love it.

The best hoover, replaces my corded one.

Works quite well. Battery allows for the whole house to be vacuumed (4 bed detached).
Frequently gets blocked and isn’t that easy to empty but not bad.

Bought this for the stairs and car, didn’t think it be up to the standard of the dyson but have been pleasantly surprised. The suction is excellent and it removes all the pet hair, it’s lightweight, charges quickly and the battery allows me to clean the elegible house on one charge. I definitely recommend this product.

We were dyson lovers had 3 since we moved into our house all started loosing suction then we would just replace. Decided to try the shark judt out of curiosity and reviews thinking if not as good can just return. Oh boy this puts dysons to shame. Amazing suction, glides in you hand had it nearly 6 months now and never going back to dyson. This separates and able to be cleaned with ease needed a degree and multiple YouTube videos to clean a dyson imo

Had looked at getting the Dyson but was put off by the price. This was on offer and after a couple of months of use definitely the right decision.

I didn’t realise what a bad job my old vacuum was doing until I used this for the first time. Picked up so much I was a little sheepish about the state of the carpets, but all sorted now. I don’t have a pet but I do have long hair that seems to fall out by the handful and this whisked it all away. Also gets right into the corners and the handheld option means I can also get into the crevices on the sofa, behind the furniture etc.

The battery is big enough to do my 1-bed flat a couple of times before it needs charging. Also enough space in the bagless collection part that you don’t have to empty too often. Easy to go from vacuum to handheld, and attachments easy to use.

The motor unit is a little on the heavy side and it does something weird with the suction that means you have to put some welly into it if you’re going back and forth at speed. It doesn’t cause an issue for me and means you get great suction, but wouldn’t recommend it if you’ve got reduced mobility or range of movement.

Otherwise an all-round good buy and would recommend if you’re looking for a cordless vacuum.

Great hoover, very robust and lightweight. Easy to transition to different attachments and love the way it bends in the middle to reach under sofa/beds.
I can do the whole house on one charge, with some spare !

Replacement for my corded Dyson, which I have had for 7 years.

I had a dyson with wire and exchange it for that one. The suction is so much better than my old dyson it made me feel embarrassed. It looked like I did not vacuum my floor for years.

    Pros
    Suction
    Lightweight
    Bits for stairs
Light at the front of the vacuum
    Easy storage
    Quick to empty
    Lasting battery
    Fast charging

    Cons
Small bin capacity – I have a 6 bedroom house so it takes 2 round to empty the container.
Battery doesn’t last long if you use super suction too long
I have a big hairy dog and the hair get stock to the brush so it needs frequent clean up
The filter on the top of hoover needs frequent cleaning – it’s quick and easy

This hoover is amazing. So easy to use. The suction is really good. It is a little in the heavy side but I just fold it in half to take upstairs and use one of the attachments when doing the stairs. Comes with a range of different attachments too which is useful. Especially when hoovering the inside of the car.

Excellent vacum powerfull, great pick up battery lasts long enough to do whole of my houses.
Only small downside is you must empty it everytime after use or it will get blocked. Which is no big deal.
Will replace with same again when necessary

  24. ManokanRunner says:

     United Kingdom

Very practical, lightweight and good power / pick up. Very easy to fold, change batteries and accessories. Stands upright on its own to store away. Have had to clean out long hair from roller about every six to eight weeks, but easy to do as top panel clips out to access roller but the roller hasn’t stopped spinning at any point.

  25. Karin says:

     United Kingdom

But 1: the roller does become wrapped up with hair fairly quickly, you need to go along the length of it with scissors to properly get rid of it all.
But 2: the pipe can become clogged with dust quite easily if something like a bottle cap gets stuck in there.

So if you don’t mind something that requires a little more maintenance than a standard vacuum I’d recommend this.

Pros: good battery life (I can do all the floors and stairs of a 3 bedroom house on 1 charge); lightweight; easy to stow away; powerful suction on carpet, wood and linoleum flooring.

The shark is heavier than the dyson v6 animal but that is the only drawback the suction is better and the running time seems longer on the shark, also seems to out perform the dyson in the car, but saying that my grandson had first choice of which he wanted and he chose the dyson.sp the car kit for the shark are very expensive at 29.99 COULD SOMEONE COME UP WITH A MORE REASEONABLE PRICED ITEM PLEASE

Changed the way we do the vacuuming! Light weight and powerful but fills up in no time and shorter battery life.

Pros: No plugging in and pulling the lead round the doors, powerful and lightweight.
Cons: Battery life (so switch with 2) and size of bagless container.

We now don’t tend to vacuum the whole house in one go but rather a room or 2 and then stop. Without 2 batteries would have been a terrible purchase but one battery is always on the charger. Emptying the container is required after every room if you own a dog!

I wish we could have got one with the hair anti-tangle thing on the rollers though.

We needed to replace our AEG and wanted one that could hoover the whole house (4 beds) in one go. After a bit of looking we decided on this Shark as we’d heard good things about them as a brand.
Overall it’s a powerful hoover with a lengthy range in terms of how far it will reach when standing and pushing it and when hoovering carpets it is power assisted.
Pros: Batteries give more than enough time to hoover the entire house in one go. Suction is very good. It comes with wide range of accessories. The control to change between hard floor and carpet is on the handle, so no fiddling with the base.
Cons: The power means that you need to avoid hoovering over wires/cables/small balls (our cat like to play a lot) because IT WILL suck them up and it’s a job to retrieve the item from the roller, be warned. Emptying – is a pain because you have to empty the waste container by holder the hand unit over the bin before releasing the flap and then you have to fiddle about to extract all the fluff while holding the quite heavy hand unit. The use of accessories means that you have to stop and detach the hand unit every time you need to do anything else than simple hoovering.
So overall, It’s a good hoover but a detachable waste remover approach would improve it.

Best vacuum I’ve ever owned. Easily better than dyson. I would say it’s better on carpet than it is on hard floors but it’s still amazing! Might be a tad heavy for some people if not using it the general way but other than that it’s perfect! I love it so much!

I bought this vacuum to replace our broken down handheld Dyson. We have had it for a couple of months now and it’s brilliant. Suction is great, battery life is enough to whip round and it looks nice when stored away. Highly recommend this as it’s often around 100 cheaper than a leading model and does the job better in my opinion.

Makes the job of vacuuming the house so easy now…no cord trailing behind you to get tangled in…lightweight…great battery power one lasts my whole house!…I bought 2 batteries and keep both charged. I had a Dyson for 15 years and loved it, the replacement ball Dyson not so much, so when a colleague raved about this I took a leap of faith as it was on offer at the time. So glad I did, it is so easy to use, so small to store, simple to empty and excellent results, there is a visable improvement in the appearance of my carpets. Its some years since I used an old Dyson hand held vacuum at work which I found was really quite pathetic with suction power and it has taken me all this time to have some confidence in them again. I used to have a Dyson animal and it lasted about 10 years and would have lasted longer except the plastic parts were starting to degrade and snap so having had a corded shark vacuum which was really very good I thought I would try this shark battery one. Hey, if it sucks I can return it right? But I was. really quite surprised with how good it is with suction! its also nice not to have to trail the lead everywhere and keep winding it up around the vacuum which became a bit of a pain. The battery lasts me about a week with daily use so Im very happy with that. The stairs really needs a better attachment though as its either the big clunky attachment you use for general vacuuming or its some tiny little attachment that is way too small but luckily I had bought an attachment pack for my hand held vacuum and so one of those attachments is fine. I would advise you all to do the same if you go for this model. Here is what I like about it most though, all my old vacuums have terrified my cat which made things awkward, but this vacuum really does not worry him at all and in fact makes him curious enough to approach it and sniff it when I’m using it. I would give it an extra star for its low volume but no rating given from Amazon for that so I added it to the poor show for stairs attachments.

This Shark Vacuum is ideal. We have a 5 bedroom house which is all hardfloor downstairs (wood & tiles) with the stairs & upstairs carpet. Easy to change from one type to the other, Arrived ahead of delivery date & very easy to assemble. Good suction on normal power & lasts over half an hour on this setting, allowing all upstairs or downstairs to be done in one hit. Easy to convert from upright to handheld at touch of button. Folds neatly in half for freestanding storage. The battery is easy to remove for charging. The dust/dirt collection cylinder is on the small side but so easy to empty that I can live with it.

Plenty of good features such as light weight, washable filters, cordless, very manuavrable, good design, can be used as a hand held for cleaning car etc but the battery doesn’t last long and doesn’t have a quick charge like a battery drill, collection bin is small but canny non the less. This vacuum is an amazing piece of kit which I heartily recommend to anyone considering buying it. Easily as efficient as a regular mains driven vacuum without the hassle of trailing cables. It also means no more winding the cables up which is a nuisance to me. (Lazy I know).
It glides along on whichever of 2 settings used, gobbling up dirt with one sweep.
Stick bends to make cleaning under furniture easy.
It requires emptying more than a regular vacuum but this is easily and quickly done with a press of the release catch.
Storage is great as the stick folds over to half its height at the touch of a button.
    I actually enjoy vacuuming now!
Husband has even been known to vacuum without asking. A brilliant product.

It works great! Because of the motorised head it does all the hard work for you. With a traditional vacuum you have to do all the heavy work on the carpets. With this vacuum hoovering is fun! Seriously, when I first used it I was embarrassingly excited. Works great on both carpets and hard floors. The battery lasts enough for me to do the whole house no problem. The only thing I don’t like about it is emptying it. The dust and hairs never just come out, I find I have to reach in to get it out.

Vacuums have always been a problem in our house. UNTIL NOW! The Shark cleans really, really well, the turbo mode almost pulls you along with it, and cleaning the device is relatively easy compared to other vacs. It’s light and moves around nicely. We had a bit of an issue upon purchase whereby the charger didn’t work beyond the first charge, bizzarely had to return the battery first (I told them it seemed like a charger issue), then when that didn’t work had to get the whole unit exchanged (..for the charger..) Though, Amazon’s return policy can’t be faulted, really.

Suction good. It is annoying the way bits of fluff stick in the brushes and drives me mad cleaning them. The wand and base are very light but the actual handle, which also contains the debris, is heavier for my hands than my Dyson. We are pleased with the product but because it’s my job to empty them after every use I find the Dyson easier to keep clean.

Bought this to replace a Dyson which, despite all the positive reviews, we thought was awful. Flogged it on Gumtree. This, on the other hand, has been fantastic. Two batteries – great idea. We have a four bedroom house with three reception rooms and we can clean thoroughly at one go. Powerful suction, especially on boost. So impressed with this. Was a little concerned that the suction wouldn’t be as good as a corded hoover but it’s so much better than our old one. All the attachments are fantastic, battery life is pretty good, amazing switching from carpet to hard floor. A little top heavy where the batter part is but nothing major. I love i

I found my Shark heavier than i had thought it would be & also bigger than i had expected, it is almost as tall as me. That being said its suction power is terrific, i have a long haired dog and my Shark picks up her hairs first time. It is much quicker and more efficient that any others hoovers that i have had.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends especially those taller than me.

This hoover is fantastic for maneuverability, it’s so easy to do those hard to reach places which I have struggled to do before with a corded vacuum. Its lightweight and glides easy.

The battery lasts a good half an hour, long enough to give everywhere a good hoover, and charges pretty fast ( 2.5/3 hours).

The only downside I feel is that the suction isn’t very powerful. My last two hoovers have been Dyson’s which have had strong suction, so I was a little disappointed with the shark’s lack of power. A friend of ours has a corded shark which is amazing so was hoping this one would be close in comparison for the price.

Although saying this my carpets look clean after use and it is super easy to use, so that’s all I can ask for really.

I love how easily it folds away for storage, (so compact) and how easy it is to change the heads.

The different floor settings are great and if really needed the added power boost button is there but it does drain the battery.

There has been some great offers on Shark cleaners so I decided to take the plunge. Easy to use across floor types the only thing that surprised me was the power assisted driving on carpeted floors. All the weight is at the top of the cleaner which means that if you stop you need to either fold it down of lean it against something, it is not fully freestanding. Cleaning power is really good and works well into the sides and corners without tools but plenty of tools were supplied for more difficult areas. Cleans the floors well including good hair removal. Only one battery supplied with the cleaner but lasts a good while. The full spring clean will have to be done in stages or I’ll get another battery to last me (quite expensive). Folds down well to keep in a small place when not in use.

We bought this because out old Dyson sadly had its day and with an 18 month old little boy we needed something that wouldn’t leave anything behind. We received the new hoover quickly and wow we couldn’t believe the difference. We hoover our family room several times a day as that’s where our little boy eats and plays and he has developed a habit of hiding food in the rug! The first time we used the Shark we were both disgusted and massively impressed! Despite the fact that we had hoovered with the Dyson an hour before the Shark hoover was nearly full with picking up things that apparently the Dyson simply couldn’t find! This set me on a mission of going through every room in the house and seeing what it could really do! The house hasn’t felt so clean in a long time! the battery life while not great is definitely enough to do our full 2 bedroom house including stairs (I didn’t want a corded hoover because we often take the hoover out for a quick run over where the little menace has been playing to make sure hes left no small bits behind!) despite the lack of mains power the hoover has plenty of suck and will last more than long enough. It can be a little heavy and cumbersome for stairs but with the pet tool becomes much easier and getting in every nook and cranny is relatively easy. Charging is simple and because its designed not to allow overcharging leaving it plugged in to be ready at a moments notice we never get caught out. All in all virtually no downsides with an impressive power, looks quite nice and very easy to store! Would definitely recommend!

Strongest suction of the few cordless I’ve tried, still not quite as good as a traditional vacuum but the convenience and flexibility makes up for it by a long way. I tend to use just this and then hard brush the carpets/soft brush the hard floors periodically.

I’d definitely recommend buying a spare set of filters, we have long haired dogs and it clogged fairly quickly but since buying another set, I rinse through often and it doesn’t clog any more.

The only reasons I didn’t give this 5 stars were because it would be a little heavy for anyone with arm or shoulder issues and because I have to empty the dust container after every room. Otherwise I really love it. Suction is great and I love how it folds to put away.

    ****EDIT****
I wanted to amend my review as I have been using this vacuum for a few years now.
It worked great at first ( as in the first 5 – 10 uses) and I loved how light it is and the battery life is pretty good.
However, ever since this it has been a nightmare.
I now have to clean every filter after every single use or it just doesn’t pick up even tiny bits.
It also is useless on carpets. I have long hair and 2 cats so I chose the anti-wrap one but it doesn’t pick up any of my hair from carpet.
I’ve had to use another vacuum upstairs (where I have carpeted floors) and keep this one downstairs where I have wooden floors as it works ‘okay’ on hard wood and tile floors. It’s still not 100% and sometimes I find when I turn it off it just spits out the dirt I have just picked up.
I’ve reverted back to a corded vacuum for my carpets and will never buy a cordless one again.
    ****END OF EDIT****

    I LOVE this vacuum.
This is the first cordless vacuum that I have purchased and I cant remember life with my corded vacuum.
I have arthritis in my wrists and knees so having to carry heavy vacuums up stairs and around rooms was a nightmare. I did a bit of research on cordless vacuums and Shark came out best.
The product is light and soooooo easy to use. It moves around the floor easily and has made my life so much better.
I would defo recommend this vacuum to anyone with joint issues.
It came just after New Year, so had to tackle the aftermath of the Christmas decorations. It took this in its stride and the floor was soon back to perfectly clean.

Great to have two batteries and the ability to fold the unit for storage. It is a little heavy and the front roller catches any cables on the floor and drags them into the machine. Phone cables in particular are bad as are ethernet cables. Dust collector is a little on the small side. Charger is great and battery changing is easy.

I cannot believe the power for such a lightweight model. My daughter got a Dyson for Christmas and this is not far off in ability to hers.
I’m over the moon with it and it looks amazing too. I actually want to show this off rather than store away. I would highly recommend!!!!

My wife loves this hoover, its nice and light to carry up stairs picks up everything put in front of it including dogs hair, and I have to say for a hoover half the size & weight of our old upright hoover it does an extremely good job.

I read up on the best vacuum cleaners. Could not afford the Dyson but the next best was Shark. It is very good. Heavier than the Dyson but good. I have downsized to a 2 bed flat so the 1 battery is fine for the time I need for cleaning. Do not have stairs but it works well on my sofa. I just hope it lasts a long as my Henry Hoover I had before

The vacuum is pretty good for a cordless, I have all wooden floors and it lifts all the dust and fur balls really well. I have cats and it catches most of the litter the first time over, without spiting them across the room. The elbow function is great for getting under the sofa and beds. Battery lasts long enough to do the whole flat (3 bedrooms) and a couple of spot vacuums. Best thing for the stairs is to remove the extension and use the head only. It does need emptied every whole house use but its not a massive inconvenience. I read the mix reviews about the weight of this and even saw some people recommend it for older people. I am mid 30s and fit and my arm can cope with doing a whole house but my mum would never manage without doing her shoulder in. I would NOT recommend it for older people for this reason.

This shark has changed my life! Before we had an inherited bulky old Dyson which I refused to use, or an inherited Henry Hoover which I’m not keen on as “he” kept getting stuck round corners or ended up on “his” back. This shark was a game changer! I’ve found myself hoovering in the dark just to use the lights on the front and then switching the light on to see how it’d performed. The battery lasts longer than I expected; I think you could get a full house done in one charge if it’s a once over, or I normally do one floor and then put it on charge. It has a push feature so it feels like it’s doing the hard work and you aren’t really pushing it around too. All in all, worth every penny!

Friends recommended getting a Shark after I was complaining about my G-Tech lacking power and suction.

Found this to be really good albeit a bit strange weight distribution – but soon got used to it.

Good selection of tools to tackle most parts of the house. Great to have dual batteries too. Nothing more frustrating than the battery running out halfway up the stairs!

Overall really pleased with it and a big improvement on my G-tech (of which I had 2)!

I read plenty of other people’s reviews on this product prior to purchasing it, and I think that the main problem is expectation… Simply put, there are no cordless vacuum cleaners on the market that can completely replace and outperform top of the range plug in vacuums – if you need truly high performance, you have to except that a corded vacuum is still the way to go.

People largely complained that the battery life isn’t sufficient to do a thorough vacuum of a 3-4 bed house. I think that it’s certainly good enough to do multiple once-overs inbetween using a normal vacuum cleaner. And if you buy the two battery variant (Red) you can swap them over very easily to double the range. Where it does excel is at the little clean up jobs, and it is particularly good for vacuuming stair carpets and car interiors.

The weight of the unit initially feels heavy in the hand, but I think that’s mostly due to the pistol style of the handle, making it feel a bit unbalanced. You get used to this characteristic with use.

The selection of attachments is pretty good, including the small anti-pet hair motorised head, but the selection would have benefitted from including a narrow nozzle with brush bristles on imo.
The dirt collection box is a bit on the small side, but the unit does a good job of compacting the dirt without a loss of suction. The filters are easy to access and to clean.

What I think sets this Shark apart from other brands of cordless vacuums (that I have used), is the build quality and application of technology. The plastics used in it’s construction are far superior to those currently being used to throw an equivalent Dyson unit together. I also get the feeling that the technology implemented in this unit was included because it works and is efficient, again an equivalent Dyson seems to have tech for the sake of it, rather than it being fit for purpose. Somebody actually did some vacuum cleaning while designing the Shark at least!

The handle feels top heavy when using. Can’t leave it upright to move furniture as it will topple unless folded. Picks up well but I have to clear hair from the brushes every time I use it. Very smooth when hovering carpets.

Better than my Dyson – great battery life and seems well considered. All rather fussy compared to my Henry though.. oh I wish he was battery powered and more portable but alas he rolled over once to often and I snapped..

Brilliant product. Not too heavy to manage, with 2 batteries you never have to wait hours for it to be ready to use. Folds over for easy storage, is very powerful and you can do a whole house without running out of charge and still have enough juice for next time. It easily gets into those awkward spaces or under cupboards that it is impossible to do with other machines – I could go on and on, I love it – and the Dyson has gone to the dump – where it belongs.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood hover but not good on slightly older carpets. Pulls threads up easy and spins them onto its roller then stops. Got a bit fed up with unblocking the roller. My carpets are about 6 years old. They need replacing now.

Good but not on older carpets

So glad I treated myself to this! So lightweight I can carry it around on a couple of fingers. It is flexible, picks up everything (even the fairy lights! my fault but easy to untangle as the brushes are so easy to get to). It’s quiet and so great being cordless. It must be good my teenager will even use it! Highly recommend.
