I am still getting used to it at the moment because it seems to be more powerful than my old one, it seems to be a good easy to use microwave, I use it for cooking vegetables, reheating and starting food off prior to the oven or air fryer. It does what I want and at reasonable price, no complaints off me.
Good size and ideal for small family. More powerful than I thought and heats up food far more quickly than my old microwave. Taken 1 point from review as the start button can sometimes be a bit fussy to operate if you don’t press it dead centre.
Smaller in size and slightly lighter in weight. Quiet and not so load ping. Light only comes on when in use so you can leave the door open to dry out the inside. Its very dark so cant see any splashes on the inside. Always cover food to avoid moisture build up.
I think it had been dropped as it doesn’t stand flat. It’s working and I have already waited 5 weeks for it. Nothing fancy basic microwave.
Quality of goods , nice appearance
Works well
Easy to use
The black one lasted me around about 3 years due too leaving the door open after cooking and the back window opened a tad. I add too put it out for scrap yesterday minus the plug. As it was extremely dangerous too use and was turning into a rust bucket inside. A few weeks before I noticed brown specks. I guessed it was Rust on the newspaper it was standing on, on the kitchen table. I was still cooking food it upto a week before. It looked ok inside. I didn’t notice any signs of rust appearing. Tuesday it didn’t. Cook my microwave oven readymade macaroni cheese dish. It seemed too be cold. Hot underneath the plastic dish. And I don’t know about the small fly that fled in beforehand. Source me leave the door open a tad after cooking too let the steam dissipate. It saves you keep buying a new microwave oven every 12 months, or less. Found this method out by accident. Nothings ever mentioned in the microwave instructions books about this old method of mine. I Even posted it on Facebook.
Excellent choice for me. It does everything I need it to do.
Purchased for my elderly mother (age 100 years) and she has found the manual controls very easy to use.
Very happy does exactly what it says on the box thrilled with it. Good value.
It is just the right size for sitting on top of the work top, unobtrusive and stylish. But the great thing is for us that it is so simple to operate. Self explanatory without the instructions!
Bought two to replace existing two old Sharp microwaves. Overall an excellent product. Small bad points: being white on black, the various control panel markings are difficult to see in poor light; even a short (2 min) warm up of a plate of food causes a build-up of condensation on the inside of the door and inside walls of the microwave which we have to wipe down and/or leave door open for a while. Lastly, compared with our previous Sharps, this product is lighter and therefore prone to ‘walking’ about on the working surface, especially when pressing the ‘open door’ button.
It’s not the best feels a bit cheap but does the job. It feels it takes longer to heat then my previous one
This is a good quality product but I find you have to press the control buttons firm.
Had for a few months and no problems so far. Does everything as should and decent price
I love that the inside is a beautiful grey and not white. It has lots of useful functions but doesn’t fit dinner plates bigger than 10 inches or 25 cm. 5 more centimetres inside would have made all the difference.
It does make a lot of condensation, so needs wiping out after each use to prevent rust, but other than that a great addition to the kitchen and we’re fairly happy with it.
Missing one star as it doesn’t fit a standard dinner plate and has the option to heat a dinner plate.
The quick setup guide could do with a website link to be able to use the full features of the microwave. Not the easiest control panel to use, but other features are better than the competition, so not unhappy overall.
Simple to operate. Does what it says on the ti
All good except dials difficult to read due to size and colour and maybe a problem for older people like myself.
I like everything about it.Easy to use and to keep clean.
I’ve found the operation on settings & use are very clear to use, especially the on screen and display settings are very clear to use.
Pretty good for the 13 months it lasted . I’ve had a few of these Sharp basic microwaves , they’re good . Guess I was just unlucky with this one . The front opening is a bit narrow for a decent dinner plate . The quick start function is 30 seconds rather than a minute on previous models .
Having had my old microwave since 1978 I was in floods when it eventually gave up the ghost. Minefield chosing a replacement. It’s OK but definitely not as well made as my old one!
Nothing to dislike. Really good value for the money. Simple to use
Good price, seems decent quality works well, we only use it for basic heating of food , only issue we have you can only get a small dinner plate in if your warming up meals, otherwise its great.
Controls are a bit fiddly but otherwise does all I ask of it.
Good value and easy to use. Timer not easy for trying to time in part minutes but we knew it was manual when we bought it.
Bought in April of 2020. Used sparingly for two years (popcorn, pudding etc). Now shoots flames and sparks from the side. Lucky I was nearby.
Spend extra and get a better unit. Buy once, cry once.
This was ordered in error as once it arrived we realised that it did not have the grill.
Otherwise it was as expected when buying kitchen white goods that are pretty well established items. Would be nice if a Microwave Cook book could be included. Overall, it would do what it says in the box.
Good product for daily use. Easy to move since it is also pretty light.
This one has it is a metal no grill one, and it is really easy to clean it properly without any resistance/corner that stop you to clean it up. It is going to have almost two years already!!. The power (800W) looks more like 900W or 1.000W.
It is big enough to put a usual big plate inside and tall enough to get a full chicken (but a bit tight to put also a microwave cover on the big ones).
The time control a bit weird at first, but you get the trick very soon.
When I first got this microwave, the worked fine, I loved it. Then suddenly I try to use it and it just rotates without heating up.
So I wrote to Amazon and got a replacement.
Well guess what? 2 months later, the replacement has also stopped heating up.
Very disappointed. These things should last for years.
We are really impressed with this compact microwave. It is very powerful & heats food very evenly. Easy to clean & easy to use. Definitely very happy to recommend.
Simplistic operation, it needs longer to cook than my previous so not quite as powerful. But good value for Money.
Good product but it was dropped and dented when arrived
This oven does the job, has the most basic functions and it’s not the strongest in terms of power but it does the job and it’s value for money.
I’m a pensioner and I have stopped cooking for myself. I only use it to heat up my frozen meals . I like the simplicity of it but the writing on the timer knob is quite difficult to read and understand. I think a touch pad would suit my tricky eyesight better .
It is easy to keep clean and serves it’s purpose.
The microwave is exactly what you expect. Well made but with the usual issue of using knobs that mean it’s difficult to put on for short periods of time.
Does what it was bought for well.
It could be better with easier and clearer settings, very dark
Need to press the microwave button on every use which is a bit annoying. Otherwise good value for the price.
Great value with free prime trial next day delivery.
Works as expected. Would recommend.
(Bought to replace an inferior Cookworks one which actually caught fire in use.)
The timing knob is not very easyto read as unlike my old micro the time intervals are not consistent with the actual time but get narrower in space as they elapse.
Compact, looks good, easy to use, ie: idiot proof, good price. Just needed one that didn’t need brains to use and this is it. Would recommend for someone like minded, not technically minded that is.
Perfect little microwave, easy to use,no fiddly digital buttons just turn the knob to the amount of time you wanna cook for.,worth what I payed.
The one issue with this is the load ding. Despite considerable research I’ve not been able to find out to reduce loudness or switch sound off unlike with earlier models
There is a slight smell as others have said, I’m presuming its cos it’s new. Does wot it says on the box
Very well packaged. Good value for money and being white is easy to clean as you can easily see if you have missed anywhere. It was slightly noisy but this was rectified by putting a sweety jar on the top. First rate at cooking/heating and defrosting food.
Liked the compact size.
Outer shell is covered in plastic which has quickly become snagged on regular use buttons – already looking slightly dowdy!
Instruction leaflet not very comprehensive – have had to guess how some operations work!
High-powered and a good size. Big enough to steam a large bowl of vegetables.
Simple controls — you just turn one dial for the power setting and another for the cooking time. You can set it going, then adjust the power level or cooking time with no need to stop and restart.
What I like best about this microwave oven is its absence of annoying features:
* No beeping digital touchpad
* No pointless pictures of chicken legs, pizza slices or potatoes
* No clock to reset every time there’s a power blip
Best of all, it emits a single ‘ping’ when the cooking time has ended. My previous microwave oven would beep three times, then repeat at regular intervals, until I did something with it.
Whilst this is exactly what I was looking for, if you want to time your cooking to the precise second, this is probably not for you.
Good price but i’m not keen on the buttons. There is no feel to them and they are quite small. The main button (start +30 seconds) is already marked when it is pressed with your fingernail. Overall it is okay for the price but I would not buy this brand again.
We don’t want to roast chicken or cook a three course meal or having to enter weights and half a dozen functions to start cooking. This microwave does exactly what you need with two knobs, jacket potatoes, soup, milk etc. simply and efficiently sorted. Our last Sharp microwave lasted eighteen years.
It works and is easy to use. I personally don’t like that the metal case can move out of position when carrying this product. Also it makes a terrible slam sound closing the door. When running it’s quite noisy.
We wanted a no fuss microwave with straight forward dials, not fancy keypads etc. This fits the bill nicely. Several sizes to choose from including the one we wanted, works a treat, so simple. We showed it to our elderly parents, who bought one too, then my brother also bought one & all parties are happy. If you want a straight forward, no fuss microwave from a name you can trust, this one has got to be worth a try.
This was a replacement for an earlier model Sharp microwave which cooked quickly and evenly. Unfortunately a heavy window mesh and inadequate light made it impossible to monitor food being cooked so one couldn’t see whether milk was boiling over. It also had a clock which ran slow and couldn’t be read in bright light. This model solves these problems with a much brighter light (now LED) and an accurate and visible in all lighting clock/timer in a nice shade of blue. Cooking performance can’t be faulted.
Excellent product the only thing is the clock illuminates but the rest of the panel doesn’t so hard to see otherwise I would’ve gave it 5 out of five.
It’s straightforward to use although the touch pad controls can be temperamental. Also it doesn’t feel as solid as our previous microwave (a 900 watt DeLonghi) on which the door closed quietly but with a reassuring ‘clunk’, whereas the Sharp door closes with a very loud metallic ‘slam’ sound and the turntable is noisier. (I suspect both these issues are due to the metallic construction). Having said that, it cooks quickly and evenly and has a much larger interior enabling it’s use for larger quantities and bigger cookware.
It still represents excellent value for money and would be ideal for the larger household.
It’s easy to use , does everything I want it fo
Very pleased with this microwave. Easy to use and good value for money.
Excellent all round at cooking and also defrosting (where my previous microwave failed miserably when half would be still frozen and the other half warm). But there is one REALLY annoying feature and that is that you have to push the mechanical door button to open the door if you want to use it as a timer (Why?!). Also, if you place it in the ECO mode (display off) then again you have to open the door to operate it. So if you want to use it as a timer or even if you have placed what you want to cook later in it, again you have to open the door first. Why?! In fact once it has completed one task you HAVE to open the door to do another. It’s really annoying but you soon get used to it and it really is a great microwave for the price.
Quite potent compared to anything else I have had before
It is doing exactly like what it was described. A bit smaller than I was expecting and you wont be able to fit in a big plate, but it’s good enough for me at this price.
Smaller than my previous one which was 900 watt, I opted for this as many of the microwave food my son likes is down on the box to cook at 800 watt, so this is ideal. Saves having to work out the wattage on an older model. Slowly getting used to using it, slightly more complicated compared to my previous one. But I’m sure I will beat it before long. This model does popcorn which I have’nt tried yet, jacket potatoes done to perfection, hot drinks and even a plate warming setting. Looking forward to seeing what else it can do.

Easy to use good price for product reliable up to now
Does the job, easy to use. I’m just a bit mystified as to why the time display is so bright. It illuminates the kitchen. There is an eco setting that switches it off, but it’s a bit of a palaver because you have to open and then close the door, then press the button within so many seconds. Not sure how much electricity it saves when you use the setting at night, but it could be made a lot simpler with a single button press.

I’m really pleased with this microwave so far so all fingers crossed that I feel the same way in six months time. At present I’m delighted at how precise it is and how easy it is to moderate the power. I purchased my previous microwave a couple of years ago and at that time the range for small size on offer was extremely limited and what I purchased proved to be a poor choice. Much more on offer now and I am much happier with this oven.

Does exactly what I bought it for viz: heating up meals and defrosting frozen food. I probably wont be using all the different programs. It is marginally smaller than the one I had before but my dinner plates fit in (just).
All in all a good investment for the price.
I purchased this item during the black Friday deal so it was rather cheap. The product is a nice size and is easier to use. It has the features that I was looking for as well as a few others. The product itself is smaller than the previous one I had but that suits me fine.

It works fine. It’s a reasonable price. However, 1 – everything I do in there leaves a lot of wetness which needs wiping out, Far worse than any other microwave I have ever had. 2 – although easy enough to use, the controls are not backlit so you can’t read the except in good light.

Works perfectly well and easy to use, push button controls and easy to clean. The controls appear to time out and cannot be used until the door is opened, this happened after overnight. Must be a safety feature but did make us think it was broken as we needed to adjust the clock and couldn’t, no buttons worked until eventually we opened and closed the door.success.must see if it mentions this in the manual,,,,,but hey blokes never read the manual until something is wrong do they, well I don’t!
Suggest that after every use the inside of the microwave is dried with kitchen towel as condensation is the worst enemy and it will cause trouble with flaking paint in the future, if you don’t do this step. Takes a couple of minutes but worth it!

It’s smaller than the microwave I’ve had in the past, but works perfectly well. My large dinner plates still fit in it, it warms up fast with a fairly powerful 800watts. Plenty of options to choose from, warming up food, defrosting etc it does all that it says. Very convenient in a busy household with children.
Got this last year when my old microwave decided to suddenly not heat.
It’s very easy to use, and the tea option is handy for warming up a cup that’s gone cold.
It loses a star though, due to the sides getting warm and the settings panel bubbling. The weird thing is that the panel practically did this overnight. If it was a few years old, fair enough, but it suddenly did this after about 10 months. That wouldn’t stop me recommending this though, as the pros outweigh the cons.

Really pleased with this, this was a replacement for a more expensive model and we have been pleasantly surprised by the quality and the ease of use. Power is spot on and it’s a nice size sitting on a standard worktop with as much presence as a 4 slice toaster. Would buy another.

The protective film on the buttons hasn’t started to come off like for some of the reviewers, so I suspect that it only happens when the microwave is used quite intensively.
The microwave itself looks very stylish, maybe I would have picked a different colour of the enamel. I like that the timer can be set by 10s increments and the microwave can be stopped at any time. Most microwaves in this price range have 30s increments timer.

I know the Sharp arm in europe is not the real Japanese Sharp stuff (all about profits) – but this ‘Vestel’ microwave with a Sharp badge is nice. ITs retro looking like my parents Sharp 30 years ago, theres nothing I dont like about it – its not over fussy, it does what it should and its big so you can fit everything in it.
If it holds out, ill buy Vestel again in future, just a shame its not real japanese kit, but if you know that, proceed with Polands finest.
P.S> To those saying the buttons wear away -you didn’t remove the protective film! Once removed there is nothing to wear away as its not rubber 😀

I have had this microwave for a month now, as a replacement for a short-lived Panasonic one. This Sharp microwave had all the features, size, colour and functions at the power range that I required to replace my previous microwave. More importantly, the price point was great for what you get. So far, it’s been functioning well, and does the job it was intended for as a microwave.
Two small annoying items to note in regards to this microwave:
1) The LED display seems to have been fitted a bit lower than it should have been at the factory. This means that when you look at the clock or the timing in the LED display, the bottom of the numbers are cut off (truncated) in the field of view. It’s functional, but an annoyance and potentially a product defect. How this missed QC/QA at Sharp is surprising… especially for a Japanese company (but then the microwave was built in China)?!
2) The ECO mode function of the microwave makes a sound, similar to the cooking completion sound, about a minute after the completion of a cooking/heating function. So basically, you get two sounds… one at the completion of cooking or heating something – followed by another one a minute or so later to let you know that it is in ECO mode. Also, you have to take the microwave out of ECO mode in order to use any of the digital buttons to start cooking or heating. I have not found a button to do this, nor is it mentioned in the manual, but I found opening and closing the door takes it out of ECO mode to start using the microwave. Again, it’s functional, but a slight annoyance.
In summary, the microwave is good value for money for the features, size, power, build and brand… and it’s not white or black in colour (although it’s stated as silver colour, it looks more metal in colour – great in my kitchen).
