Our niece registered for this for her wedding. She loves i
This was used for evening enjoyment out in the backyard.
My brother has been raving about his for a while but I held back because it’s pricey. It is so easy to move and clean out. A bad fire can still be smokey. Overall worth
it burns logs…any smoke goes up. and away and it gives off heat. but it is not cheap. i guess overtime it wont rust, but…if you have money to burn, crack on.
Disclaimer: We’ve only used this item once. However, I can already tell we will like it. Husband and I are empty-nesters. At our old place, where our kids grew up, we installed a fire pit with landscape block that we used reasonably frequently. The upside was it was big and easy to use. The downside was it was a pain to clean and changing winds meant smoke in your face.
On first use we’re already impressed by this little guy. As you may be able to tell from our photo, the wood we purchased at the grocery store does stick out of the top a bit. We loaded it with shreds from our shredder, a few twigs, and 3 pieces of wood from that bundle. Used fireplace matches to light, and you’ll need something similar if you get one of these as you cannot hold a lighter down inside without burning your hand or arm.
The airflow within the unit is excellent and our fire was humming along in no time. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% smokeless, but the design does minimize the amount of smoke generated. When winds would shift and blow in our face, we could feel the heat but didn’t have a face full of smoke. It was just the 2 of us, but if necessary we could fit a total of 4 or 5 around it without trouble. This isn’t a bonfire party unit.
Cleanup is really easy and with the included carrying case it’s easy to pack up and put away.
If such a thing were available, a short plant stand or something similar would make it even nicer because this guy is pretty short.
All in all we are pleased and know we will enjoy it for awhile.
Bought one for my husband and he loved it. For my son and his wife as a housewarming gift.
When I opened the box the stove was dented obviously from mishandling. It was an easy fix with a pair of pliers. Emailed the company anyway and they hooked me up with some cool extras.
Amazing customer service.
We use this every chance we can and love the fact that it’s virtualy smoke free.
For the most part it does burn cleanly and if one elevates the stove – then it works that much better for those sitting around the fire.
We can take it anywhere and it really puts out the heat!
Very easy to set up and ready to use in minutes.
Top of the top. The quality is to the top. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Thank you
Great replacement for the easily broken clay firebox in my Kamado.
Love everything about this product. Solo is the best on market.
These stoves are fabulous. They come with a very nice, sturdy carrying bag so they are easy to transport. They put off an amazing amount of heat and are virtually smokeless. Incredible engineering. I bought the smallest one, planning to use wood pellets because I am unable to cut firewood into small pieces. I ended up returning mine only because Customer Support recommended I NOT use wood pellets — only hardwood. But I highly recommend the Solo to anyone who can cut firewood. I bought the smallest one but friends have the larger ones and they can accommodate regular sized firewood.
I’d heard about these, finally decided to get one, and love it! I got the Ranger, hoping it would be the right size. And it is, for what I wanted. Not to small, not too big, but just right!
We live in Florida so the Solo Stove is perfect for the few times a year that we can have an outside fire. It’s great for camping, easy to clean and easy to store when not in use.
Easy to use–have to cut the firewood in half to use it in the ??Ranger–wish I’d gotten the Bonfire but these are $$$
We put the Solo Stove on the patio and roasted marshmallows with the kids- PERFECT! I’m most impressed with the design, engineered to provide beautiful “controlled” flames- this made it very safe for children (with some adult supervision). Also was really surprised at the heat output and ease of use.
You do not get a smokey smell on your clothes or in your hair when sitting around the fire. The sides get hot, be careful.
One of my friends has this product, they love it!
Great fire pit, burned hot and clean. No smoky odor on clothes. Love it! The Ranger is the perfect size for traveling and camping.
This is fantastic. Great heat output. Burns really hot. It would be nice to be able to buy everything as a package deal. Lid, base, outdoor cove
Made to last. Easy to start. Small for travel. Light but durable. No smoke. Enough heat for a cozy night.
It’s really nice and does all that it’s advertised to do, but standard 18″ firewood is a little too long.
The Solostove Ranger is the perfect solution to portable camp fires for a small family. It’s size makes it just right for us. If you have 5 or more expected to be “around the fire” go a size up. The only thing I wish is for this price point I would have liked to see at least the lid included or a better price on a combo of lid and tools. Other than that the Solostove works better than advertised.
My wife and I saw a Solo Stove in use in a neighboring campsite, and I had to have one. This stove is amazing because there is virtually no smoke, and the heat output is great. We can set six to eight feet from it, feel the heat, and stay comfortable with minimal firewood use per night.
Bought the ranger and love it! Couldn’t be happier with the purchase and telling everyone i know about it! If you are in the market for a fire pit….this is truly the best out there!
Simply awesome. Leave no mess at an unmark campsite.
Preserving the native land. Barely any smokes which is a good thing in my opinion.
Photos will be added.
I put a whole bunch of papers inside the Solo and burned. The burner created minimal smoke. Just my opinion, It could also turn into a stove. If there’s a side door, so log of woods can be put inside the Solo easier. Overall, I like it very much.
I don’t know anything like it — It’s very well crafted. I bought many different accessories for it. It’s does VERY well keeping you warm (though the direction of heat is almost entirely upward, which is great in smaller areas). It’s super swanky for a firepit. This is a very premium product, for which you’re paying a very premium price. Worth it, if you can afford it.
Great for pandemic outdoor visits with my family and friends. I LOVED having this stove. With blankets and the stove, we were toasty enough to enjoy visits.
You need to buy accessories or travel including the stand….
Love my Solo. Feels almost normal to sit outside with friends. Everyone loves it. How else are we gonna get together!?
Bought for a gift not given yet. Smaller than I thought.
This fire pit is super portable, light weight and delivers on its promise to be reduced smoke. It burns so efficiently there is barely any wood left in the base, which also makes it super easy to clean.
We have loved this firepit all summer! We have literally used it almost every night. We even took it camping with us because it is so easy to move. We had people stop by and ask us where we got it because it creates such a nice fire. If you are looking for something for warmth, this isn’t it. But in the summer you do not want warmth, just a nice, relaxing fire and this was perfect for that. Also, it stays hot for awhile so you want to be able to leave it for several hours before having to move or put away.
We use this close to 4x a week. So easy and puts off a lot of warmth!
I found the fires start easily and completely burns the wood, its a a joy to watch the fire.
Best fire pit ever. Cool technology, generally smokeless after it gets burning well. Efficient and hot burn that leaves almost no coals or ashes when done. Wow. This is n incredible product.
Definitely smokeless!
Metal could be thicker, I don’t see it lasting if used to much or not put away properly
I wish it was a bigger but any bigger it would be even less portable but for back yard use I do wish it could hold 14″ logs.
Either way, standing the logs up and letting them burn down still barely produces smoke, so I’m still happy.
Very awesome fire pit no smoke once fire gets hot enough great for back yard with nosy neighbors who like to call the fire department on people they won’t know you are having a fire! I will be buying the bigger one very soon!
We love the stove! It is beautiful to look into the flames. Grandkids made s’mores, and we enjoyed watching the beautiful flames rim the stove.
Burns well, generally little smoke and cools down surprisingly quickly once done
Excellent back yard fire pit. Clean burning and minimal mess. We have used it multiple times so far with no issues.
We love this fireplace we take it up into the backcountry, and have fires at home all the time. The Solo Stove frees you from fixed fire pits and uses very little wood by comparison. It is great to cook on just throw a small screen over the
top and your good to go. You can pull the trigger on this one.
Never quite realised how good it would be, and that was with high expectations given the price. Buy the stand as well.
This is a great piece of kit! Use dry wood and don’t fill too high. Great heat and no smoke once it gets going.
We like the solo stove overall, but the ranger is smaller than we were expecting. It’s hard to get a decent fire going with it. Can maybe do two pieces of firewood total.
Best Christmas gift I’ve ever got my husband. Can use it on the deck! No smoke!
This stove / enclosed campfire ring is amazing. Smoked like crazy for the first few minutes until it got heated up and then, POOF! No smoke at all! Fire inside is super hot, but much less so out to the sides. It does allow you to cozy up to the fire without much risk of embers to the face and to have a fire when the temps are warmer. We love it.
Love this fire pit! This was the easiest fire I have ever built. Once the fire was out, it cooled off quickly for clean up. Nice portable size
My old man loves it! I haven’t seen it in person yet as it was a father’s day gift split between us siblings for him. He loves the smokelessness and the portability of it and it keeps him and his Mrs nice and warm on winter nights outside.
I am known for my inability to start a simple fire (even though I was practically raised next to a campfire) and worse, I can’t keep the fire going. Since my husband was going to be gone, I decided to camp out with my kids and being desperate, I gritted my teeth and paid for this fire pit. I would gladly pay for it again! I was able to light and maintain two different fires in it, zero smoke once it was going, no ashes on the ground, and everything was reduced to ashes inside. It truly was the perfect solution for me. Also, it’s a great size for a family of four to roast hotdogs and marshmallows.
Bought this stove to replace a dryer drum I had used for campfires for about 7 years. This one is smaller, burns less wood and burns more efficiently. It is very easy to dump, the outside stays clean and the carrying bag is very well made. The engineering on this is incredible. The air rises through the holes in the side and creates a air/heat exchange that makes lighting very easy and full time flame. With the affixed curved top the smoke is minimal. This is a great product; I am very proud to own it.
I now own three different models of Solo Stoves. Stoves and accessories are expensive and worth every penny. These are lifelong investments.
Das Video sagt alles, in der Natur sieht es noch schner
Wenn das Feuer richtig gut den Ofen aufgeheizt hat besser das Holz anfeuchten, dann brennt es lnge
What a great little stove. Loved it for our camping trips. Burns everything with family little smoke.
So we had a fire pit that smoked all the time and used minimally because of it. We liked the look of the fire pit so we put bought the Ranger and it fit perfectly inside. Great product, worked as described.
Note: There’s still some smoke but it definitely does not blow in your face. Also because the width of the ranger, I had to cut my firewood in half to fit inside.
Outstanding really nice fire pit and bbn it can be transported to the camp site.
Very little residue is left after the fire.
I now have every model Solo Stove manufactures apart from the Yukon and that will join the family once I save up for it. I also have the firesteels which are amazing. Great products, well made and work as described. Lighting a fire is a cinch and once these things get burning, they are an inferno. My Bonfire goes through logs as if they were paper so be prepared to be prepared! The Ranger is now our traveling companion for camping. Great products from a solid company with a lifetime warranty. What more can one ask for? They’re not inexpensive but I’ve been trough more than my share of lower priced “fire pits” which only tie out to be money burning pits. They rust out within a season or two at best, even with proper care. These are heavy gauge stainless and our Bonfire stays out year long at our cabin in the Catskills with no issues.
.
I have not used this yet, but I will say that it is beautiful. I have been wanting one of these for a while now. I got it a few days ago and put it out back and just looked at it. I can’t wait to have a fire in this thing. It is so sleek and simple. It is lightweight and easy to move around. Instructions say to store it when not in use. I plan to keep it covered or even put it in my garage the next day after using it to prolong the life of it. These things aren’t cheap so I plan to baby it when I am not burning wood in it. This thing looks so cool, I just want to stare at it.
Sturdy and cool. Makes a great fire with wood chunks. Highly recommend
This stove is awesome. We take it with us camping and then use it in the backyard when we are home.
