I very nearly didn’t purchase this item because of reviews but I’m so glad that I did as it is genuine and very good quality ! It’s the only official ps4 controller I could actually find as no one seems to sell them new anymore.
Super fast delivery same day infact !
I really didn’t fancy spending this much for a PS4 controller but having tried 3rd party compatible versions, it was clear that it’s best to stick with the original. Primarily because the others just don’t live up to expectations and you regret saving money.
Plus these are from Amazon so the 12 months warranty is nice to have.

Please realise this isn’t a negative review towards the seller, but a negative review on the quality of the official Sony Dualshock controller itself.
Cannot fault the seller on their delivery time as it arrived promptly, factory sealed, brand new and appropriately packed.
The product itself however was faulty from the get go; thumb sticks suffering from stick drift and not springing back to their default central location and after a while it seemed the square button was constantly being pressed down though it wasn’t being touched. The controller doesn’t feel as sturdy or heavy as the original black/grey controllers, the plastic seems flimsy and in places the light from the light bar bleeds through at random places on the body of the controller. Poor craftsmanship from Sony. Got maybe 4 weeks use out of it before the square button incident made it completely unusable.

The ps4 controller arrived 3pm the next day I placed the order 7pm the night before, as advertised Brandnew boxed and sealed and I’m using it right now and very happy, spent most of the pandemic running around like a headless chicken going from store to store with all out of stock and only ones available were pre-owned and buying them pre-owned all because I wanted it the same day and not much faith in online shopping but now I’ve changed my mind thanks to this store. So thanks guys for fast delivery and quality product and I definitely recommend you guys and I will shop agai

my old controller that i have had 6 years has packed up so went looking for another controller and these have shot up in price they were only 40 and now they are asking for 60. i had to buy one but whats very disheartened especially as its for the old ps4 not the new ps5.good quality product but i feel the price is too much.
I’ve loved this controller since I got it. It’s really solid and durable. The texture of it is really good too. It’s smooth to the touch, yet it has a texture that gives you a highly comfortable grip. The colour is also pretty sweet. I think the picture makes it look more pink than it is. It’s a slightly muted pink, so imagine the saturation on that picture turned down a little, and it’s got a beautiful reflective quality to it.
All in all, it feels like money. I use it on PC with Windows 10. It generally works for everything, though I do remember I had to download some free input mapper software to get it to work for GTA V for some reason. For everything else, it just works.
Bought this for my daughter’s birthday. She was devastated as the triggers failed to work correctly, she’s only used it once and as it’s over the 30 days returns policy. It can’t be returned. So please avoid buying a fake controller or rebranded rubbish.
Any pre-owned tech is purchased over the internet is always going to be a gamble. As such, buy new if possible.
The particular pre-owned model I purchased was not properly checked before being sold, while it had some cosmetic damages as advertised which was fine. The issue became apparent after spending a number of hours, 7-8, charging the device. I tried to use it to find no power was in it, not even enough to try and turn on. Upon plugging it into the console via cable it began to work, removing the cable killed the controller again.
Basically the device is perfectly serviceable in every manner outside of the dead battery which I replaced with one from a broken controller I owned.
This is the only negative to buying this controller. The positive is a fully functional controller with no connection issues, the typical stiffness from being mostly untouched and only minor scratches in the butt of the handles. Perfectly serviceable.
My controller that I received is a legitimate PS4 controller. I did panick and try cancel the order after reading the reviews but it was too late.
However, it’s is a real controller, came new in the box and I have had no issues at all with it. Maybe some people were sent a dodgy returns who knows.
Received an official English packaged pad. Works fine. Feels better than the worn out pad it is going to replace. Downside… will probably wear out in a few years. I’ve had 3 pads in 4 years for the PS4. Never before have I had a pad wear out on any console, at all. Buying one pad every 2 years is a joke and a money maker for Sony. I’m a casual user and do not wear it hard. Between the poor longevity of the PS4 pads and the cancelation of the PS4 communities… I will not be getting any more playstations.
Excellent controllers, only issue is long term functionality with these. They tend to always develop stick drift eventually. Bought for 45 on (sale?) works great, use it for PS4 and PS4 games on ps5. (And also works on ps3)
Note: some saying they got a fake controller in the reviews. Possibly true but mine was genuine i took it apart to confirm so. I bought the midnight blue. Recommended
There is not much to say about this tried and tested product, but my son has a habit of banging them on the floor when he gets frustrated with a game, He is now made to pay for his own, but I can’t fault these, they should last a long time if looked after properly.
My husbands controller that came with the PS4 console stopped charging after several years of use. It has been hard to find any in stock at all for months in the UK due to lockdown. We were desparate as his other red controller started to act up (this is now working fine after a reset). I was very skeptical due to all the reviews stating they had been sold replicas. I can confidently say this was not the case for me. There are obvious differences in the controller as the one I purchased is a newer model (buttons are matt grey instead of black) however all the labels/serial numbers are legit and the controller feels weighty and good quality. It connected perfectly via bluetooth to the PS4 console. My husband is very happy with it. I would advise not to buy from a 3rd Party seller if you are concerned about getting a fake. The one I purchased was from the Sony/Playstation Store on Amazon.
So I hate that this has to cost so much, but I love how well it works. Sure, the joystick rubbers pop off within seconds and the thing needs charging after a few hours of COD, but it is stable and works and looks good. It was sent quickly albeit I had issue with the Amazon delivery driver who crushed this into my gas meter box causing considerable damage to product packaging and the meter box – but regarding Sony and this controller, I cannot fault. I dropped it a star due to price if I am honest. It just growls me that so many years after the PS4 and DualShock have been around that these continue to cost so much. Essentially, even now, you need 250 for a PS4, plus 30-40 a controller, and 60 for top line games even to play as intended. And that is before we mention the PS5’s that are never in stock, double the money and even more for 4k games…But, still, it works and did so right out of the box.
It is the OFFICIAL DS4 V2, With light at back and a better touch pad that won’t jam and click like MOST of the older ones I’ve had about 3 ps4 consoles they all have had that problem with the V1 included in the box. I Bought it to play COD MOBILE with XPERIA XA2 H3113.
It works fine after turning on Bluetooth,
then HOLD 1ST- SHARE button then- PS HOME SIMULTANEOUSLY until it flashes WHITE then set up sensitivity to higher in custom as its set too slow… unless you like it slow! Mmmm oooh! … Ook.. then I’d advise the oivo 2 in one for p4 controller clamp- this one works great, low cost at around 8 bleeps, has an opening at the back for the charge cable and is easy to clip on the thingy majigger. Hope this helps someone who may actually be going Insane trying to get a controller don’t by the GameSir-T1s it’s completely rank for this, good if you want a really slow mouse pfft!
Having used and worn out many original PlayStation controllers I decided to save some money and buy one of the many cheaper brands available. However in every one that I bought I found them to be not as good as the original. From lag to unresponsiveness, from unwanted movement creep to poorly made, I finally gave up and decided to bite the bullet and buy an official original controller. What a difference it makes as everything is now as it should be. You might find yourself able to play with an inferior make but I could not.
First off in these reviews there’s a lot for the controllers purchased from different sellers. With this I purchased from the seller EVERGAME.
I was hesitant at first with a lot of the suspected fakes in reviews but I needed a controller for next day delivery. I did research and in these reviews some compare to there “legit” controllers, however from my research some would say there “legit” one is a fake.
I ate the apple and ordered since the original that came with the console broke as it was approx 6 years old. Some would say the one I received is a fake according to my research, however I did a serial number check on Sonys site and it seems legit.
I’ve had it just under a week and the quality is good, its all working as expected.
I brought an red ps4 controller from DVD GAMING DIRECT. Came as described, brand new 100% genuine.
I see a lot of reviews on the ps4 controllers with other companies sending fake knockoff controllers. So if you have any concerns or worries, I highly suggest buying from “DVD GAMING DIRECT”
Controller is perfect as shown. Also with comparison with my ps4 controller that came with my system(which is the old design with no light on touch pad)
I am very happy with my order. And would buy again if I ever needed another
I would also like to add the customer service for “dvd gaming direct” was a definite 5Stars as I had a question and had an speedy reply within the hour of asking when amazon says to wait up to 2 days.
Order came earlier than predicted!
Probably my favourite controller I’ve used so far (having used the GameCube controller, Xbox Duke, Xbox Slim controller, Xbox 360 controller, Wii Controller, Steam Controller and Switch Pro Controller). Feels sturdy but light in the hands.
I don’t actually own a PS4, so I use it on my PC. Does it work? Yes, surprising well – on Linux and Windows it’s plug and play both wired and Bluetooth. It never has to interact with a PS4, it just works. On Linux, the touch pad acts like a mouse/laptop touch pad enabling 1 and 2 finger tapping as well as 2 finger scrolling. On Windows it acts as a standard gamepad (I don’t play on Windows so I can’t comment on compatability)
The only issues I have with it are: the blue light is very bright and not sure how to turn it off when in use, the shoulder buttons are too small in my opinion – controller would have been better being sightly wider and have larger shoulder buttons and the thumb sticks feel very slippy even though they’ve been designed to be grippy.
And no, it’s not a fake. I don’t see why a faker would go to the length of lifting genuine stickers or replicating them, and the Sony branding is in the right places. If it was manufactured by a fake then Sony would probably have some legal ground to stop the production of these products, and seeing as this is a pretty popular listing (controllers are frequently sold out) someone at Sony is aware of it. So, to reiterate, it’s not a fake. I’ve no reason to believe its fake. In fact, on Linux when I probed the device for its information it returned information you’d expect from a genuine controller BIOS (something along the lines of ‘Sony Interactive Entertainment Controller’, a fake would probably return ‘Generic Controller’, ‘Wired Contoller’ or something similar)
Hope this helps your purchasing decision – 50 is not a small investme
I was disappointed at first I could not get the controller to charge for some reason new controllers have a feel safe system in them you charge am but the flash until you link it to the PlayStation by using a cable is the only way you can connect them know this is a bad thing you should explain this in the manual this is never happened before I just usually charge them and turn them on and look for a Bluetooth connection I spent two days figuring this out myself do you think Amazon or PlayStation with the least give this information out I’m very disappointed that I had to go to days with a broken Thinking I wasted my money the stress of this people don’t understand when you’re a gamer and you get a new controller and you can’t use it is heartbreaking you destroyed my soul and spirit as a gamer Amazon sort your information ou
Firstly, I have seen multiple reviewers stating the product they received was a cheap replica etc… this will not be the case if you purchase from Amazon directly and avoid 3rd party sellers. Please ensure you check the seller before ordering, (if Prime is an option, this “usually” means the product is from Amazon directly).
To ensure the controller you receive is genuine, here are a few tips to check:
1. The box should have 4 languages on front/back. Image attached.
2. The back of the controller should have a black sticker and read a genuine barcode. Image attached.
3. There should be no charging lead included in the box. Controller only.
Hope this helps you out, as I too was skeptical before buying.
When ordering, make sure you buy directly from Amazon, not from one of the re-sellers to avoid getting a fake/not working one. Bought this for my pc, recognised straight away and no problem using with Steam games. I prefer this to PS3 (cheap feel) or Xbox360 (too bulky) as it fits my hands better. Worth the price!
I actually didn’t buy this controller for a PS4 console. It works perfectly on some Windows 10 games such as Minecraft with an app called DS4Windows, or natively on PS Now for Windows, and it actually works as a fully supported game controller with a Fire TV Stick/Cube as well.
If I could go back on my purchase, I’d probably not have picked a red one though because the LED in the light bar bleeds through the bottom of the controller quite a bit, but I’m sure I can learn to live with this.
With 3 years of usage from a previous PS4 controller, I have learned that these are quite easy to break if you’re the type of gamer that throws the controller every time you lose.
The battery life isn’t terrible, but it also isn’t the best in the world. The touch bar remains a completely useless feature and I have no idea why they carried this on to the new DualSense controller.
All in all, this is a decent controller.
My original ps4 controller that came with the pack broke and was unusable not too long ago, so i decide to get a replacement for this one. this controller is really good, actually even better then my old one. great response rate, smooth buttons, joystick and side controls. my only problem is that its a little stiff on the R1 and L1 buttons. but could be because its new. overall very good
Perfect. Bought 2 at separate times and both are the same. Used with a pc for gaming via Steam. Plugs in with usb cable (not supplied) or can be used wirelessly with gaming adaptor (also not supplied – one required per controller) and relevant software (not part of this be available free on the internet). Works great both ways.
I think like another review said, Amazon has seemed to pool reviews for other products together, as through my research this controller seems genuine and has no indication of being fake (without taking it apart that is)
I have only had 1 short gaming session with it, but everything worked as expected, the response was great and instant, everything felt smooth and not too loose. I will update this review if i have any issues with the controller any time soon, but currently it’s all been great and seems genuine 🙂
Even 7 years after PS4 launch controllers are expensive so when on offer at 36 thought should get a spare (since one of my existing controllers starting to play up). I have had usual colours, black, red, white blue etc so went for cammo for change, nice finish and happy with controllers. In my opinion PS4 has best controller design out there and at this price worthy of 5 stars
Don’t know why on all these ps4 controllers people are saying they’re fake… this is real. doesn’t come with a charging cable to if you’re looking to get it working with a pc like me then you’ll need to buy a long charging cable and don’t bother getting a bluetooth dongle for it, it doesn’t work so well. hook it up with a charging cable for pc and you’re good to go
After suffering many power issues with my original PS4 controller, and not being able to get through a campaign or mission, without a device warning, I decided enough was enough. So off I went to my supermarket to purchase a replacement. Put the appropriate packaging in my trolley, get to checkout, only to be told, it wasn’t in stock, although it didn’t say that on the shelf. So I ended up here, as per usual. Found the rose gold version. Had an Iphone in the same colour, so wasn’t put off. Been using it for some time now, and have to say, I can go for considerably more hours without battery issues. Price a few pence cheaper than supermarket, happy with purchase.
My original Sony PS4 controller gave up the ghost recently (but not bad going for the abuse its taken over the last few years!) and so a new one was required.
Rather than take a risk on generic controllers, I felt more comfortable purchasing a genuine Sony product. Please understand that this is a personal choice – I’m not badmouthing other controllers, and I’m sure there are perfectly decent ones out there.
As to this controller, it’s just perfect. The battery lasts around 12 hours or so when being lightly used (watching YouTube or Netflix for example) and about the same for an all night gaming session.
So in summary, a perfect replacement with the high build quality we expect from Sony.
After reading other reviews claiming this was a fake, upon arrival I throughly examined the controller for signs as to whether it was legit or not.
I had fallen for a fake controller in the past, I also have legit ones, so I had a few to compare with.
Firstly I looked at the sticker on the underside. All seems to be correct. No spelling mistakes, no stretched logo, no issues with spacing, all of which can be seen on the fake controller. The sticker is flush, with no bubbles, it is in the correct position. Overall, it seems real so far.
Next I checked the buttons, making sure they weren’t sticking out too far or too little. I checked they made the correct sound and did not stick. All seems fine to me.
After that I checked the triggers and sticks, both are smooth, they dont stick or move in a jolting manner. I then checked the overall quality of the build, there are no jagged edges, the thumb sticks are the soft rubber as expected.
I then weighed the controller against the fake controller and the real. This controllers weight was more in line with the real than fake, which weighs less than the legit controllers.
For my final check I stuck on an online multiplayer game and got stuck in. The controller allows for smooth playing and works perfectly.
I do believe what I received to be a legit SONY controller and I am happy with my purchase.

10/10 Original PS4 DualShock 4 wireless controller
In Black Came in offical box and sealed
It is the newer version of the controller and just a point of information NO USB or power/charger comes with this so if your missing a spare usb data cable you should also buy one
The controller came with some charge it was on 2 bars out of 3
Verry happy i would always recommend the official controller over a cheaper varient
This was also the Best Price i could find for official Brand New Dualshock 4
Not really a lot to say, I’ve tried cheaper none-branded controllers in the past but they aren’t a patch on an official Sony one. Everything just feels better put together with tighter tolerances and higher quality components, they might be a premium price but personally I feel that they are worth that price tag.
I bought this as a replacement for the one I bought years ago (replaced due to broken button). The red looks great and worked very well for a month or so. Then it started glitching. The analogue stick would appear to constantly drift. I tried resetting it and also forgetting it from the console. Nothing seemed to work.
The problem was actually with the Bluetooth connectivity. My girlfriend was watching things on her PS3 in the next room using 2.4GHz broadband (same frequency Bluetooth uses). Once I connected her device with wired internet, the controller drift issue was instantly fixed. I saw a few others report controller drift in the review section also. I imagine they might have had similar issues without knowing the real problem.
I never knew it would be so hard to find a suitable controller for mobile gaming … and I’ve now messed around buying and returning a few controllers, so I thought I’d write a review to hopefully save others the trouble i’ve been through.
Games played for review: F1 Mobile Racing (Codemasters) and Call of Duty Mobile (TiMi Studios / Tencent Games). Connection: Bluetooth.
Controller #1 – Steel Series Stratos Duo. Price paid: 64.99 not including phone mount.
It looked the business, and with gaming sites recommending it, I bought it straight away and was initially not disapointed. Battery is built in, the look and feel is excellent and it holds comfortably like an X-Box controller. When not in use it goes to sleep by itself to preserve battery. The only slight disapointment was the Steel Series phone mount prevents you from plugging a USB lead in whilst it’s attached – meaning you have to faff around removing it when it’s time to re-charge. But, the recharge wasn’t needed often – battery life was good, and the LED’s tell you how much remains. Other reviews have complained that the 4 LED’s flash every few seconds when connected to Bluetooth – it didn’t bother me.
However, I really struggled with controlling my car in F1 Mobile Racing. The steering seemed delayed and digital, applying counter steer was impossible. I started to look for other controllers which might perform better, and I also consider that the game itself is at fault here – the game doesn’t officially support controllers on Android, and this shows. Also, be aware that this controller is not supported at all by Call of Duty.
Quality appears to be Steel Series achilles heal, and after just two or three weeks of gaming, the “B” button stopped working properly, causing the controller to lock-up when this is pressed. If it wasn’t for this fault, I’d probably have kept this controller and been reasonably happy, even without being able to play Call of Duty.
Pro’s:
Materials quality, finish
Battery
Comfortable to hold
Sleep works well
Con’s:
It broke
Phone mount is fiddly
Not all games support it
Controller #2 – Jevogh Xbox one Controller JV24. Price paid: 45.00.
Note: I didn’t try this controller with Call of Duty.
Whilst trying to work out why my Formula One car was so uncontrollable, I bought this significantly cheaper controller to do a comparison. It worked just as badly for controlling the car, and wasn’t a very nice controller and I quickly returned it.
Controller #3 – Sony Playstation Dualshock 4. Price paid: 44.99
By this time I had tried Call of Duty and seen the error of my ways… I don’t have a Playstation these days and didn’t realise the controllers are Bluetooth compatible, and work with Android. Suddenly my F1 car is more controllable, and my laptimes have improved – it’s hard to pinpoint the exact difference (analogue stick deadzone, perhaps?), and F1 Mobile Racing is still not perfect, but it’s a lot better.
I’ve had a few connection issues, and I’m also unsure of the state of charge of the controller battery… Without having a Playstation to tell me this, I have no indication and I suppose it could run out of battery mid-game. Worse, it doesn’t seem to go to sleep, so you have to turn off your phones bluetooth unless you want the battery to drain. You also have to avoid certain USB fast chargers if you wan’t to avoid killing the battery. Furthermore, I’ve had some Bluetooth connectivity issues – I had to re-start my phone, and re-pair the connection to get it working again. Although I think this is potentially teething issues whilst I get used to how it pairs.
Finally, the first phone mount I bought snapped literally within hours… It seems Sony have designed a controller that is inherantly difficult to mount a phone onto (because of the touch-pad front button), and the plastic mounts have to curve around this button, with a thin plastic section. So, be prepared for breakages of this part.
Pro’s
Supported by more Android games
Controller quality is very high
Con’s
Not as comfortable to hold
No indication of battery charge level
Bluetooth connection unreliable
Don’t use a fast-charger
Phone mounts are fragile
In conclusion, I thought this would be really simple; buy a controller, have more fun on games. But it’s turned into a saga of buying and returning hardware to find something suitable for purpose, and even now the Sony PS4 controller is not perfect for the job.
Half the price you normally find genuine dual-shocks selling at and only 50% more than the fake ones (which don’t fit any of the charging cradles). They do not come with a USB cable and would not sync with the first three I tried and only finally when I found a thick one that came with an old controller – so do persevere if you get that issue yourself.
After buying a fake version I notice a few things that gave it away apart from some buttons not working as well as a genuine controller, I was hoping to get a genuine this time and it is. I’m happy with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone needing a new PS4 controller
ATT:
In the photo the fake controller is on the “right”, you can also notice that the ps button is grey instead of black
– A few minor scuffs but no real scratches and the joystick textures are still crisp
– All the buttons appear as if brand new except the left joystick which occasionally rode upwards (a tiny adjustment to the deadzone fixed this while remaining a small enough radius to be unnoticable)
– Bought this thikning it would be new but when I went back to check the product page it said “used”
– Perfectly good quality however at the same price as a brand new controller theres no reason not to buy one of those unless you can’t find one online, in which case I would reccommend this selle
Good product. Didn’t come in PlayStation packaging but that doesn’t bother me. The Circle/O button is quite stiff, isn’t a problem at the moment but could be in the future? This might have been caused in delivery however…
All I can say is if you have any doubts about this being anything other than the official latest flagship controller from sony as I did, you can relax its the real deal and a lovely controller until now I favored the 360 controllers and was very down on sony’s but this new version is getting close it has a lovely feel to it and the joysticks have some decent resistance now, something that has been lacking in there controllers since the start.
it still has the same problem with the option and share buttons being to close to the trackpad but that’s a niggle not a dealbreaker.
all in all a very nice controller, so why only 4 stars? at 75.00 it’s overpriced but I needed a decent replacement as mine would no longer charge, half an hour of gameplay and it was dead, this little beauty after one-day solid gaming still at full charge and that junkyard USB port replaced with something much more sturdy.
until now the PlayStation controllers have always felt like toys this feels like an adult gaming companion.

Stunning. Red is the best colour. Works crazy well. The light effects in games (Witcher 3) is well worth it for me personally. Also the vibration really does add immersion (I never thought I’d say that). And Sony – why does the PS4 only come in black!? Where’s the red?! Thank you!
Works well but L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons are prone to break after a few years of good use & the analog buttons suffer from the rubber peeling off eventually. Controller is still too expensive considering how long the PS4 has been around for and should be cheaper because of this.
Used for daily gaming mainly with FPS and action RPGs.
This is a he newer version big the dual shock PS4 controller and is an improvement on the joysticks and also light bar. Compared to the original controller which I still open it’s a much better product.
Would still prefer better and stronger joysticks since those will still wear out over time.
Love the PS4 controller and it looks damn fine in white. Bought this to replace a launch day black controller and the different is remarkable from responsiveness and comfort. If you have an old controller do yourself a favor and get a new one. Works with PC as well which is a nice touch.
Purchased on my teenage sons behalf for crimbo as what teenager doesn’t need a third controller for there PlayStation.
He assured me this was an essential item he absolutely needed and it just had to be rose gold despite it being more expensive to order this particular colour than a standard one.
I mean real-world problems and all.
I mean what do I know I’m old apparently.
Anyway it’s a lovely controller and works exactly how it should the colour is lovely also.
I also saves as purchased Black Friday week ( my pockets were thankful)
My son is a also happy with this despite not needing to use three controllers simultaneously once since Christmas sigh.
Joking aside this is a great controller that I would purchase again.
The biggest notable changes in this revision of controllers (the V2) are a better battery, revised grip material, and a translucent strip on the touch pad so you can see what colour it is!
The finish on this green camo controller is great, and has made this controller my new favourite. The light bar is now more useful, as I can see what colour it is! The grips feel like they will last longer… the one downside is that the battery still doesn’t last that long!
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again, I just wish they had upgraded the battery more!
Very good and comfortable PS controller. I’m using it to play fighting games and platformers on my PC (by exploiting the controller support of Steam).
Reason for minus one star: the center part of the controller is a low quality touchpad with low quality physical clicking mechanism (compared to the other high quality parts of the controller). Fortunately that part of the controller isn’t needed by any of my games and I would rather have a proper battery indicator instead of the touch pad and the shiny colourful leds.
People need to be careful about the reviews. I was hesitant about buying this incase it was a fake but its 100% genuine; issue being is obviously a third party was selling black or blue ones, being fake and sadly amazon is grouping all reviews together.
Beautiful design, sleek colour and finish. A gorgeous controller and proper rose gold, not coppery looking
The rose gold one is a legit PS4 one as can be seen I have purchased a copy before so compared them it’s a legit one ,
Fabulous feel no issues so far apart from it doesn’t come with a charge lead which is annoying but cheap enough to purchase would recommend
I wanted a controller which could hook up to a Windows 10 computer for a bit of gaming. Having been a PS1/PS2 fan back in the day, I didn’t fancy a Xbox One controller, so decided to plump for something more familiar. This controller feels ergonomic for my medium sized hands, all the buttons feel sturdy with a nice action, it has relatively quiet click and looks the part too.
In terms of connectivity, I had no problem hooking it up to Steam (which supported it out of box), PCSX2 emulator (2 minutes to set up) and Origin (using DS4 free software, again easy setup). My PC had Bluetooth as standard so no separate dongle was required – again, this took 2 minutes to setup on Windows 10 and works flawlessly via wireless. Anyone even remotely tech-savvy should have no issues here and if you get stuck, then there’s always Youtube. You’ll need to buy a separate cable for charging if, like me, you don’t already have a PS4 – I got one dirt cheap also off Amazon and it worked perfectly too.
The only slight negative is that some games, whilst fully supporting it, still use the Xbox A,B,X,Y icons instead of Cross, Triangle, Square, Circle. But this is a minor issue which doesn’t detract from the overall functionality.
This product is well built and efficient.
However I do have one complaint.
No USB charge cable, you’ll have to purchase one separately.
Otherwise the Dualshock 4 is an excellent controller for the PS4.
Because the USB cable was not provided by Sony,
I cannot award this product 5 stars.
I don’t know what these other people have recieved cause the one I’ve been sent is genuine, sensitivity is fine the pad has weight to it just like the one that came with it, I play shooting games alot so I know the difference. if you’re buying buy the black and make sure you dont buy used or from a 3rd party seller simple as.
As you’ll know if you have a Bravia tv, only the original (ZT1) Dual Shock would work; well since the Oreo update this model (ZT2) also works – well, at least the same as the ZT1, ‘cos the other thing the Oreo update did was to completely smeg up the buttons, so the Square button now does the job the ‘X’ button used to do, the top left shift now handles the ‘Triangle’ duties and so on. Basically you’re gonna die A LOT finding out which button now controls your missiles, turbo, jump etc. but you’ll get used to it – the main point is both versions of the controller now behave in exactly the same (weird) way which is a good thing as the ZT1 controllers are rare as hens teeth with second mortgage prices to match, so that’s a relief.
Ordered this(rose gold)as a replacement to my daughter’s original old & worn controller, however.. after about a week of typical gaming use (Overwatch, AC Odyssey, Days Gone, ect), the “right-side” analog stick developed a fault which caused the aiming/look turn speed in games to slow down & speed up randomly when fully held down to the left, after fault testing (trying it on other consoles, direct usb connection etc) I confirmed it was the stick/controller at fault & nothing to do with the console settings or in-game settings.
I contacted Amazon for advice/support via callback, the agent sorted everything out with no fuss at all, even though I had recycled the original packaging it came in, I popped it into a jiffy envelope & dropped it off at my local post office with the QR code I was emailed for return, free of charge.
I received a replacement controller a day later so I cannot fault Amazon at all for their support & service in getting this sorted out.
The replacement rose gold controller has been working fine with no problems so far, it looks really nice & is doing the job as intended. My daughter is very happy with it.
As a side note I’d like to confirm that both of the controllers I received are 100% Sony original products & not fake.
This is the real deal compared it to my old one and is identical if you go on the official psn page to buy this controller it brings your to here it doesn’t look as pink as the picture but it’s its very lovely totally reccomed theses controllers usually last around year but if u keep the box and it break you can contact Sony and send it to get repaired last time I checked
It’s a solid and robust controller in general. However I didn’t have to repair the analogue sticks due to them not working properly. Luckily there were some guides online but it required sticking a piece of foam into the controller. For some not so technical or resourceful, they would end up having purchase a new one. So definitely a design fault on the part of Sony which is disappointing.
It’s quality made and is responsive, there are no loose components which provide a great gaming experience.
I should note that a year has passed since I purchased it and an input drift on the right analogue-stick that is seemly caused by some dust getting in the gaps at its base. I plan on opening it up and giving a good clean and will report back here if I have any success.
Fantastic controller that works as intended. I have used it for a decent amount of time now and have had no issues as you would with most controllers such as thumb sticks wearing out or buttons not working as designed.
No complaints at all and a fairly reasonable price.
My PS4 is more dear to me than anything, making it not easy for my children and wife that hold a lower rank in the domestic pecking order. So when something happens to my PS4, family life gets disrupted. And something did happen; the young children got frustrated with their silly kids games and handled one of the controllers too rough.
This caused the controller to have some small internal loose parts that at random started to affected functionality. Soft and hard resets did not help. Quite upsetting. Even though the other controller helped me to maintain my daily video game routine. However the children’s joint game play got disrupted which is also not good for family life and harmony. And their friends lost interest to visit them! So after 5 years of daily service a new Sony controller had to be ordered, putting other family expenses on hold. A cheaper version was no option assuming these would even be less able to withstand the children’s gaming rage.
Upon arrival I was quite pleased with the new PS4 controller. Already I consider the PS4 controller as best in class; right weight and excellent grip. The new controller has more dark-grey in colour than the original black controllers that came with the console. And its rubbery grip feels even better. But otherwise there are no noticeable differences. So I’m quite pleased as are the junior gamers in the family (and their friends).
Problem solved – and hopefulled our gear remains in good good condition until day-1 of the PS5 launch.

You know i dont usually say this, but this 2017 controller for PS4 is the best of its kined they friggen nailed it!. the buttons are flat enough to press sharp and resposive for any game, fighting, rpg, first person driving i could go on it is the beezniss. analog sticks moves equally as smooth, the feel in the palm is sweet and the colour is a yess. battary life is acceptable great controller currently my favorite.
I bought the camouflage controller, so I can never find it. That’s my fault. Otherwise the controller is perfectly sound – looks like the newer version where you can see the controller light up colour through the touch pad which is useful when playing multiplayer. Really happy!
Well, what would you expect?! It is from SONY; and as a result, brilliantly designed, durable and comfortable to use. The minor additions to the dualshock 4, have improved it even further, especially with regards to the pads on the joysticks, which feel like the old rubber seals, but will not wear out and crumble as the old model seals did.
1. Open Device Manager then plug in the controller via USB. Look for the controller in ‘Human Interface Devices’ then right click and disable it. If you find it in ‘Sound, Video and Game Controllers’ also disable it there.
The above step will enable you to charge the controller without the USB connection interfering with Steam.
2. Add a Bluetooth device, this can be done by right clicking the Bluetooth icon in the notification area. Hold the PS button and the Select button at the same time until the light bar flashes white, when the controller shows up right click its icon and select ‘properties’ then check the box for keyboard etc. and then click ‘Apply’. Without doing this step the controller may just connect then break the connection after a few seconds.
Tips:
You may have to go into Big Picture mode to change the bar colour.
As the touch pad is not used in PC games you can separate it into two zones and assign each side to Select and Start, this makes it much easier than using the tiny buttons on the controller.
Controller review:
Great design and nice to use controls, the analogue sticks are fantastic. Some controllers suffer from stick drift so its a bit of a lucky dip with quality control. The rubber thumb sticks wear issue seems to have been fixed now.
The red controller is a much brighter shade of red than appears in the pictures. For comparison I’ve pictured it with the red PS3 controller. A minor cosmetic detail, but one that some people might want to be aware of
These are clearly not built to last, any PS controller I am referring to, they all seem to break nowadays whereas the old PS2 ones are still working like new
This was bought as a present for my brother and he thoroughly enjoyed it as it was black and grey with a light at the top of that square pad in the centre of the controller, it works fine however the outer box was damaged (Not due to seller) however seller kindly rectified the situation.
Note: No cable or replacement earpiece is supplied with this.
Our PlayStation 4 gets a lot of use (thanks to whoever introduced my daughter to Netflix this is mostly to watch PJ Masks) so we got a second controller so that we can have one in use and one on charge. The cammo controller is essentially the same as the standard controller, does all the same thing and fits the KontrolFreek thumbsticks exactly the same. I did hope it would make me less rubbish at Call of Duty, but it didn’t, so I’ll just leave that to my other half.
I loved the previous incarnations of this controller but I love this one most of all, I bought the crystal version previously and decided the camo one was worth a shot (especially with the heavy discount included at the time).
I love the feel of this controller in my hands, extremely comfortable in my opinion and extremely responsive.
Only gripe I have is the light bar that will drain battery life during use, but at least you can dim it, which is better than nothing.
If you need a new controller, I’d, personally, always go official. I can’t fault this controller, but I do recommend you care for them to ensure you get the best out of it.
This controller is MILES ahead of my old one! I’d previously had the first generation ps4 controller and unfortunately within 2 weeks the rubber on the analogue sticks had come off, upon opening this one however (the v2) I immediately noticed a big difference. The buttons feel much better quality, as does the analogue sticks and I also quite like the extra light on the touchpad! Hopefully this one doesn’t break within a month, but so far it’s looking good!
The dualshock 4 is a controller that, in one swift stroke, deftly fixes virtually all of the traditional problems I (and others) had with prior generations of Playstation controller. Whilst I’ve always enjoyed the Playstation platform, the comfort of it’s controller was always a big issue for me, especially after the original XBOX was released with the brilliant S Controller. Going back to using the Dualshock after using the Controller S was a shock, it made me realise just how uncomfortable it was to use for some games.
It’s a relief then that for this new generation the Dualshock controller has become perhaps the most ergonomically pleasing and comfortable controllers I have ever used. Every issue I had, from the triggers, proportions and grip have all been fixed and perfected in this controller. It is that good.
There are two downsides though. The first is the touchpad, it’s a gimmick and awkward to use. Thankfully it’s use isn’t mandatory in most of the games I’ve played. The other? The lightbar. Even though software updates have allowed you to dim the brightness it is still too bright and frequently is visible reflecting off my T.V. when a dark image is displayed, thus ruining immersion. Hopefully these issues will be resolved with the Dualshock 5 when the Playstation 5 is released.
Overall, this is a wonderful controller that has put Playstation on top of the mountain for console controller ergonomics and usability.
Some people find the light on the touchpad for these new style controllers annoying but I don’t mind it at all. I really like the camo pattern, something different. Didn’t realize how desperately in need of a new controller I was until I got a new one and used it side by side with the old ones! I really like buying stuff like this from Amazon. Sure you might save a couple of quid going elsewhere but the aftercare from Amazon is too good, any time I’ve had issues with something electronic they’ve been really quick to replace it or sort out my issue.
And I don’t think I’ll ever go back to an Xbox controller. Playstation controllers are much better ergonomically for my tiny hands. Compatibility with PC games on Steam is spotty, but it’s easy enough to get this controller working with a driver (DS4Windows).
If you’re planning on buying this for PC use, instead of a replacement/2nd player Playstation 4 controller, make sure you get the “new” one with the lightbar on the top of the touchpad. The new version of the DualShock4 works with computers via a direct USB connection, a feature the old DualShock4’s didn’t have. Before, if you wanted to use a playstation controller with a PC, you’d need to do it over bluetooth which has latency, these “new” DS4’s cut all this out and transfer data through a cable.
Very good controller. Amazing colour and surprisingly makes you a lot better at the games when you have a fresh controller as a replacement to my 2/3 year old original controller that I got with my PS4 on release day. However the product doesn’t come with a USB to charge. Seriously. They cost Sony may be 50p at that to produce and give out. I cannot believe they do not provide one hence why the loss of 1 star.
There is nothing wrong with this controller per say however when it comes to the dead zones of the triggers it’s not good, after been use to the over sensitive gen1, adapting to this controllers sometimes seems hard, not being able to spam as easily I sometimes find myself in games where I use single shot a lot to sometimes just pause mid gunfight which is a real problem sometimes and I just can’t seem to help it. Maybe it’s because I also still use the gen1 , controller as well but I really can’t get use to the dead zones on the triggers here and it causes an issue for me. This why I give it four stars.
Bought to replace a dualshock 4 that came with a launch day ps4, the R2 trigger stopped working in some games, I heard sony improved this in the new version so I’m hoping I won’t get this issue anymore. So far so good. The sticks also seem slightly stiffer than my older dualshock 4, but i think this is an intentional design to give better accuracy and it took a day or 2 to get used to the difference. Other things that seem different from the old dualshock 4 are the strip of light coming through the top of the touch pad and the buttons are slightly bigger, so is the ps button in the center of the controller.
The most ergonomic controller, the most functional controller, the most revered controller, and the most satisfying controller. You can use this for everything, and anything via InputMapper on PC, and with Bluetooth, you can connect this thing to pretty much anything. Need I say more? It’s a controller, it is an input device, it controls things. And it does so in the sleekest possible design, and with incredibly comfortable ergonomics. Some people may say they like the Xbox design more because of the analog stick positioning, but when it comes down to raw science, this controller wins in terms of ergonomics and design. Even the D-Pad is tactile, something which even classic controllers like the NES Controller fail to nail.
The new Dualshock 4 V2 is not much different from the old Dualshock 4 but here are some differences.
1. You can now see the Dualshock 4 Light Bar from the front touch pad. Sony has made the top end of the touch pad see through, so the light can shine through, it is not an additional light.
2. The square, triangle, circle, and X buttons are a grey matt finish.
3. The R1,R2,L1,L2 buttons are a grey matt finish.
4. The Analogue Sticks feel much the same, but they are grey.
5. The D-Pads are grey and matt finish.
6. The back of the controller is grey matt finish.
7. The touchpad is also matt finish.
8. The weight of the controller is about the same weight as the old Dualshock 4
Personally I like the new Dualshock 4 better due to the matt finish, which is a bonus if you suffer with sweaty hands.
My only problem with the Dualshock 4 is the price. I think they should cost 19.99-24.99
I’m a fan of the lightbar on the top! Had to pick up another controller as my girlfriend’s been getting into Lego Harry Potter games and it’s got past the point of her just wanting to watch me play, she now really wants to get involved – another controller had to be acquired!
Exactly the same as the previous version except for the lightbar on the touchpad shining through and the slight colour changes for the directional buttons / analogue sticks to match the grey. Otherwise it has the direct USB input (so when plugged in with a USB and the USB mode is selected it connects via USB and not bluetooth) which is helpful for those who want that slight (like 0.002 seconds slight…) advantage.
It does the job very well but the reason I don’t give it 5 stars are twofold. First, the two main analogue sticks are not well padded and hurt your thumbs when used more frenetically in certain games. I always have to buy thicker covers for these which usually have to be super-glued on. Messy and shouldn’t be necessary. Secondly, the touch pad is too large and overly close to the option button in particular – so in games where you need to hit the option button a lot it’s far too easy to catch the touch pad. Especially a pain in FIFA football.
At first I thought they’d sent me the older model by mistake because I was expecting to see a plastic light filter on the touch pad for the new light, but after looking on the back of the box, it was the right one.
The light comes from inside the touch pad, and the touch pad has a translucent strip, it’s pretty cool.
Anyway, I bought this to replace a launch model controller where the rubber wore off of the sticks. This seems better made than those ones.
he controller seems move slippy in the hands, also all the d-pad, triggers, even all buttons except the ps button including the track pad are move grey than the old version, the light bar is a nice touch i just dont know why they made it more greyish, for some reason the new controller feels slightly lighter in the hand. something that lets the whole thing down as a package is mine did not come with a usb cable or anything else, i would of thought it would of had a usb cable with it as using one is one of the new models key features, also the buttons didnt have that film to protect it either which makes me wonder about its authenticity
Really good product for the price and I’m very happy with the delivery as it came on time with nothing wrong with the orde

Doesn’t come with a cable but I have loads of them anyway.
Original product and works as well as the one that came with the ps4

I very nearly didn’t purchase this item because of reviews but I’m so glad that I did as it is genuine and very good quality ! It’s the only official ps4 controller I could actually find as no one seems to sell them new anymore.
Super fast delivery same day infact !
I really didn’t fancy spending this much for a PS4 controller but having tried 3rd party compatible versions, it was clear that it’s best to stick with the original. Primarily because the others just don’t live up to expectations and you regret saving money.
Plus these are from Amazon so the 12 months warranty is nice to have.

Nice pad and its official its better than ……….them cheaper ones I’ve brought before
Original PS4 controller is the best option. Nevermore cheap replacement.

Great original genuine PS4 controller, arrived promptly and with a good saving over RRP.
Really good. Gets more vibration than the last one. Really fast delivery. But loses battery quite quickly. But good buy
Excellent controller however very disappointed it doesnt come with a charger.
I didnt read the spec’s thoroughly just assumed…
There was no lead which was surprising and also no paperwork in the box.
Which gave the impression that it was reconditioned versus brand new.
In my opinion PS4 has best controller design out there and at this price worthy of 5 stars
his feels different to my psd that u got with the ps4. Feels cheaper if that makes sense. Works good tho but I will buy from a store in future.

Happy with my purchase – would recommend.
Basically you’re gonna die A LOT finding out which button now controls your missiles, turbo, jump etc. but you’ll get used to it – the main point is both versions of the controller now behave in exactly the same (weird) way which is a good thing as the ZT1 controllers are rare as hens teeth with second mortgage prices to match, so that’s a relief.
i like it and if i run in to my issues it’s just one of them things. my vid may be long. it i hope it helps if your thinking of getting one
good luck
Very happy.

I bought this during the sales.
I’ve already got a controller. They are not any different. But, now I have to consider one.
Firstly it’s not as comfortable as the Xbox controller. It’s feels forced. I don’t have an Xbox, I used to when I had the last generation.
I chose PlayStation because I wanted to get one. But speaking from controller Perspective I prefer Xbox’s.
The analog sticks are to high up and feel awkward when using it. This is not to say you can’t use it comfortably just the Xbox one feels more natural.
The build is great. Feels solid and you know you have bought expensive tech. Due to controller I might shift to Xbox in the next generation.
Steam connection via Bluetooth:
