Bought these as a present for my 27 yr old son. Wanted a surprise and was pretty clueless.. so my nephew did the research. He did well. A great buy. My son loves them
Looked a t a view before deciding on these. I use them predominantly in the gym. Bit fiddly operating the switches when on head so it’s easier to use your iPhone for volume control. The only thing is on the tightest fit they’re not quite tight enough. Especially when doing floor work. I think I must have a small head.
Sound very good.
Controls easy to use.
Battery life not brilliant.
Noise cancelling not perfect but acceptable for my purposes.
The band that goes over the head (I am bald) causes irritation after a while so I put a soft cloth under it. Not sure that the band is non-allergenic.?
All in all this item is good value for money and I would buy it again despite some of my comments being negative.
Great headphones, fantastic sound quality, very comfortable and a brilliant battery life. Noise cancelling is good but works best on background dins and won’t completely eliminate noise. Overall, very happy with these headphones.
Would recommend, they have an overall good performance for the price.
The noise cancelling starts working as soon as they are turned on and it muffles outside sound works quite well! Sound is quite clear and good bass plus they’re cute. Overall great value for money.
The noise cancellation is incredible, almost surreal. You just can’t hear the outside world. It is very light, comfortable and with great sound quality.
Brilliant on aircraft or trains. Amazing finger control for volume, scrolling. Stunning sound reproduction.
Brought these for my husband who loves them. Good sound quality and long battery life
These perform as well as any other and are not nearly as expensive. Great battery life.
My first pair of Bluetooth headphones. Not sure what to compare them to but happy with them listening to music and TV and price point if course.
Noise cancelling is good, but not completely sound proof so can hear someone calling me or cars coming when walking the streets listening.
Battery life really good!!
Its comfortable on my head and ears noise cancelling is very good
Fit really well, controls and operation very simple. Clear sound. The only downside is thar I expected a little more bass, the last Sony head phones had much more bass.
Still good though
I fell down the stairs run i from ops but broke
Very comfortable, and as an added bonus, keeps the ears warm, he he. Definitely worth the price paid.
Comfortable fit. Noise reduction fine for TV, headphone controls take a bit of getting used to. TV is mainly what I use these for. Battery life good.
I bought these headphones to watch movies on my tablet, without disturbing anyone else in the house watching soaps, they’re brilliant.
Great sounds and long life charging
Expensive but worth every penny
Everything is as it says on the box. Good value for money.
RIP 2022-2022
Works well with all my bluetooth devices
Only had it a day
Early to say how good it is
Very pleased with item so fa
I have a Sony Bravia OLED telly in my sitting room and I also have my treadmill in the same room. Putting these headphones on enables me to work out with no loss of sound from TV at all. Bass and treble are good, and the phasing of sound from left to right channels (and vice versa) is very good.
The earphones sit around my ears, and I have biggish lugs, so top marks for comfort. The foam around your ears is soft and thick and excellent for stopping sound leakage or noise coming in to disrupt your viewing / listening pleasure. The Bluetooth connected first time with my TV, my iPad, my iPhone my lounge Samsung TV, Marantz hifi etc etc. it has been a revelation to have such easy connection!
The earphones are lightweight, comfortable for long usage & sound good for both speech and music.all my boxes ticked and I can recommend them wholeheartedly to you.
the only thing that really irks me with these is when you press the button to switch between noise cancelling modes, on/ambient/off if you are listening to music/call/meeting you get a rather long silence while it tells you it changed modes. so be warned you may have to ask someone to repeat what they said…a lot.
Bought these for our teenage daughter, so I haven’t had much chance to test them myself but the one time I was allowed to use them they were very comfortable although my daughter’s choice of music was interesting. She wears them all the time so the battery must last quite well.
good sound quality, noise cancellation is not perfect but does make a significant difference. Battery life seems to vary and can be a little short. The supplied charging lead is far to short at only 160mm.
Got these to replace an older Sony set that snapped after three years of near daily use.
Very happy with them, better than the old ones and the headphone part seems like it will be more sturdy so hopefully will get a bit longer out of these ones. Sound is good and range to my mobile phone is great.
Brought these headphones for the gym after using non noise cancelling for way too long big game changer. Haven’t really took these off since I got them very comfortable. Price is fairly high and sometimes can’t handle high bass sounds at max volume. Great headphones 7/10 recommend
I brought these when they were reduced in price. They are comfortable, reduce noise somewhat in noise cancellation mode and sound great. The battery life is also superb, they just don’t seem to run down.
I take about an hour to cut my grass and the noise cancellation makes it much easier to hear whatever I am listening to from a podcast to music. They do not cancel out the infernal combustion engine, but rather reduce the noise to a manageable level. They definitely do not cancel it completely. However at under 100 pounds, this is fine for the price point.
I really like the sound, enough bass to enjoy rock/pop, and enough detail for classical. Ppd casts also come through clearly and you dont miss words.
I have no regrets in buying these.
I was worried on first impression because these are very light and made mainly out of the same scratchy plastic on cheap car interiors – so definitely didn’t feel or look premium.
That said the ear pads and headband feel better than those on the Beats Studio. Being lighter they are definitely more comfortable to wear.
ANC is excellent and there are multiple modes to allow ambient noise in. I really like this, because if you’ve got your head down working in an open plan office you don’t necessarily need full fat noise cancellation the way you would want it if you were on an aircraft or train. The Beats and Anker ANC headphones didn’t offer this, and it feels more natural than my Bose Quietcomfort earphones with a similar mode.
Someone with a more discerning ear might say otherwise but I couldn’t hear any difference in sound quality between these and any of the other premium headphones and earphones I own.
In short I don’t think you’d need to pay any more for a decent set of headphones!
I bought these headphones just for video calls and meetings as I was tired of resetting Bluetooth on each device between meetings.
I decided on Sony as I have the WF 1000XM3 and WH 1000XM3. The noise cancelling on this really is worth the price. It looses 1 star because these headphones are way too plasticky. The surfaces are not very nice to touch. But other than does the job for me.
I’ve only had these a couple of days, but while I don’t yet know if they do give the claimed 35 hours battery life, in all other respects I’m very pleased.
Being over 70, I’ve had quite a few pairs of headphones over the years. The sound of these Sony obviously isn’t up with really expensive ones, but for me it’s more than acceptable. There’s a strong bass but it’s not overwhelming, and the frequency response across the range seems pretty good.
These are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used. I have a large head and was concerned that these phones might, as usual, clamp it uncomfortably. No worries on that score, I’ll be able to wear these for hours.
I hadn’t used wireless headphones before, but after an hour or so got them successfully paired with my new iPhone (first smartphone I’ve had, until 10 days ago I was still using a 9.99 Nokia from 2006). The Bluetooth connection works perfectly. It’s very pleasing not to have cables getting tangled up.
The noise cancellation works reasonably well. It’s not quite as effective as on my old Blaupunkt 112 Comfort ones, but these are comfortable and in truth the Blaupunkt, despite the name are not. Noise is reduced, which is what you want, you can’t expect it to be abolished.
The headphones are easy to use: I didn’t want overly complicated ones with all the bells and whistles, apps and whatever.
You get what you pay for, but with these, a bit more than that IMO. If you’re an audiophile, look elsewhere, but if you want decent headphones for less than 100, I absolutely recommend them.
Price – For 100 squid it’s alright. If you forked an extra 50 you could get something better. If you saved an extra 50 you could get something a lot worse. Decent price.
Usage – Connects to bluetooth easily, and automatically. Remembers noise cancellation, and phone call settings. Goes to sleep quite quickly if not being actively used.Haven’t been on less than full battery yet but the most I’ve used is for a whole day charging at in the evening so can’t comment on battery life. Double tap for next song, triple tap to wheel up, just like on every other headphone.
Comfort – First thing I noticed when I took it out the box was how light it was. Used to have the Sony MDR’s. Miles lighter. Doesn’t feel hard to wear for a while.
Overall. They do the job.
Sound – 4/5. Good sound, nice instruments. However, it could be so much louder. Find myself wanting at max volume when I’m anywhere that isn’t silent. As for the microphone. Would be easy to say there wasn’t one. God awful. If you want to use for calls prepare for “What was that?”, “Pardon?” and “Say that again.” Even in quiet rooms.

These headphones are comfortable to wear (I’ve worn them for a couple of hours or more at a time) and the sound quality is really good. The battery life is great – seems to last for ages.
Really like the sound quality, bit loose fitting, great battery life
Good well made headphones, nice feel by padded earmuffs.
Sounds good as a SONY product should
Works well with iPad, Android and terrestrial radio my main usage. Even well with my hearing aids
Sound:
These headphones sound okay but not brilliant. I’m comparing them to my old AKG K450 set. When listening to Tidal on their hifi plan, the bass and treble are fine but it’s the midrange that just sounds unfocused – it’s a bit like listening to cans!
Ironically, if I engage virtual surround on my laptop, they sound a bit better.
Noise cancellation:
They have two modes. Ambient control is ideal for meetings so it’s easier to hear yourself speaking. Full noise cancellation really cuts background noise… essential when my desk is right next to a busy road!
Battery:
As a headset though, they do a fine job. I get a few days of battery if I turn them on and forget, much longer of I turn them off between calls.
Range:
They connect to Bluetooth quickly and have a really good range, I can get to the water cooler on the other side of the office where there are no walls, but at home, by the time I get to the kitchen, with a few walls in the way,the signal is lost, but picks up as soon as I’m back in range.
Conclusion:
The build quality is good. All in all, for the price, they’re pretty good, I just wish they sounded a bit better with music so I could get away with one pair of headphones.
Bought as an Xmas present for a member of the family. Paired with an iPad, the features are superb, and of course negates the need for annoying wires (and usually an adaptor for an iPad).
The first set I have purchased that do what it says on the box. Comfy to wear and no outside noise. Long battery life.
Very comfy headset. Awesome side button function and easy to remember. The only thing is the sound quality isn’t quite what I expected.
Sounds a bit tinny like the cheaper headphones do. Would have loved a bit more base.
Got as present battery keeps very long time and when listening loud it doesn’t go to loud so doesn’t hurt ears
I bought these for my husband to watch films and TV as he has the volume way too high for my liking!
They’re great – he says that the sound is brilliant and noise cancellation good (though it doesn’t block noise totally, it reduces it greatly). The battery life seems good too – they’ve not yet been recharged after extensive use over the Christmas and New Year period
The battery life is amazing and keeps its charge for ages. The only concern with this product is that the padding isn’t very comfortable so wearing these headphones for more than a couple of hours can be very uncomfortable. But they also work as excellent wired headphones if the charge has ran out but noise cancellation only works when on battery power.
I bought these headphones for my 11 year old boy for Christmas and he was thrilled to receive them. Great quality for an 11 year and he hasn’t taken them off since. Worked extremely well when paired with his phone. Very very happy boy.
The build and sound quality of these is second to none, easy to connect, no manual needed, very light on the ears, be aware you really can’t hear anything externally around you if you pump up the volume through them. well worth the money.
The sound quality is good.
The noise cancelling is superb.
This headphones are excellent in this price range. The sound quality is very soothing and noise cancellation is very effective. I wear it all the time on my train travel and with this you can completely isolate yourself from crowd.
Didn’t give 5 stars because I have the Bose headphones which cost double the price of these Sony headphones…I brought these Sony ones in sell as xmas gift, tested them out myself, Sony headphones pair really easy and quickly, the break up is none that I could hear, even when I walked down very windy 100 ft garden, still clear as a bell. The sound is really good for price range these sit in, the controls easy to use, noise cancelling works really well, can have without to hear when need. is the good sound as the Bose I use then no, but for price didn’t think they would be, but well worth buying the Sony ones too. Strong 4 stars for out the box testing, how well they wear with time, not a clue yet.
Great battery life
Noise canceling function is compatible with the price tag on the headphones, don’t expect to eliminate all outside noise, they do though taking down to acceptable levels the airplane noise. It looks like they work better with a single sound rather than sounds coming from multiple sources traffic for example.
The sound quality for some reason wears off after time, I have found that reinitializing the headphone to factory settings which is a very easy procedure helps to bring the quality up.
They feel light and the Bluetooth has a very nice range.
The only con i can find is that the feel hot after a while and very uncomfortable around my ears.

Great quality does what they advertise to do and picked them up a bit cheaper here than other stores.
I cannot comment on sound quality as I don’t know what to expect. Quality seems fine to me.
I cannot comment on battery life either. They’ve done three gym sessions without recharge.
I’m really pleased.
Pluses:
Sound quality is top notch.
Noise cancelling is very impressive.
Battery recharges to full very quickly and lasts for ages.
Negatives:
Maybe because I have big ears, but the cups do start to hurt me after a few hours use. Also can cause my ears to sweat. But still worth the money.
I was looking for a competitively priced pair of headphones, which is exactly what I got. The noise cancellation works well, although others I have tried are better, but it’s still good enough to drown out the office drone. The different modes are slightly confusingly named.
Obviously there’s a sound quality difference between these and the XMs but not as much as I expected for the price drop. The Noise cancellation is great.
Only downside is there is no support from the Sony Connect app so there is no control for equaliser, effects etc.
Great pair of headphones. The noise cancellation is effective, especially for the price. Comfortable for long periods but sometimes have to adjust them while wearing. Sound is very good. When I first tried them I was a little underwhelmed but when I used my airpods again I realised how much better these ones are. Pleased with the purchase
Bought as present to replace older wired version.
Have been told they are exceptionally good.
Great quality – great sound – N/c works great to – for the price – more than adequate- very pleased.
Love the noise cancelling. It also comes with it’s own case. It headphones have soft paddings unlike the one that i bought. So far am very impressed with the product.
Absolutely chuffed to bits with these. The battery lasts ages, they charge in minutes, connect in seconds to any devices and the noise cancelling feature works a treat. 5 stars!
After reading many reviews, I opted to buy these headphones. Sound quality is excellent for the price point and they are easy to use.
What a difference using these are !
I got this on a Amazon deal and I’m not disappointed with the sound or the price I paid.
Very happy the base is impressive as all mid range. I’m not a sound engineer or in the record business but for my use I can not complain on the quality of these.
Would definitely recommend.A++++
I did buy a hard case as I travel quiet a bit so to protect the headphones.
I have been using these headphones for over a year and have no complaints. The sound quality is good. I use them to watch dvd’s and listen to music. I like the over ear fit and the noise cancelling suits my needs. I can recommend them.
* Voice calls (Google Hangouts/Discord) work well on my Mac laptop.
* Sound quality of bluetooth is good for listening to music
* Very comfortable and light. This stood out for me particularly when compared to the last two pairs of headphones I’ve tried, where they felt uncomfortable on the top headband.
* The noise cancelling seems to work well. I haven’t tested it fully (e.g. on public transport)
Bad
* Sound via bluetooth can intermittently be bad. Sounds like I’m listening to a radio with poor reception. However disconnecting and reconnecting via bluetooth resolved this. This may be a problem with my laptop as if I switch to listening to Spotify on my phone it’s fine.
* The Amazon warehouse experience.
** Item was slightly dirty (inner ears) on arrival. Sound cable was tangled up. It looked like someone had picked it out their junk draw and dumped it in a cardboard box. Obviously been used for a while.
** The USB charging cable was missing
UPDATE: I contacted Amazon about the quality of the item and they refunded some additional money to account for the state of the item.
Firstly, the sound quality with these headphones easily surpasses any kind of cheap/generic pair of headphones you’re used to seeing in stores around the 40 price range. The frequency range for the sound is broader which results in an overall better audio quality, and you are able to pick up finer details in songs that you otherwise could not in cheaper headphones. It’s worth noting that when using them with the included cable to connect to your devices, the audio quality is slightly improved.
In terms of the ease of use, you couldn’t really want more. When connecting with Bluetooth the connectivity is very quick and never disconnects. In addition, the battery life is brilliant at around 35 hours, so you won’t be worrying about charging them too often. When you do need to charge them, even that is a breeze since they charge very quickly even to yield a full charge. The comfort of the headphones is also top-notch and one of the best things about them. They are surprisingly lightweight and have good padding to sit on your head and over the ears, so you can wear them for long periods of time and forget they are even on. Moreover, the compactness of them is really nice to have over a bulkier pair of headphones so you can use them easily when wearing a hood over your head. Another minor detail I like a lot is the matte finish when gives an anti-fingerprint type quality to them.
Importantly, since these seem to be headphones aimed at portability and for using when being active, the noise cancelling works very well when outside. For example, you can switch on the noise-cancelling option, and straight away sounds around you like traffic will naturally disappear. There are buttons on the side of the headphones to control them which are a little bit awkward to use, and there is also a pointless beep when changing settings as well as the voice assistant which tells you what you have selected. It would be better without the annoying beep.
Quick Pros and Cons:
Pros:
* Sound Quality
* Lightweight and compact size
* Long battery life and quick charging
* Effective noise cancelling
* Overall comfort
Cons:
* No type of case included
* They don’t fold up, only the ear cups rotate
* Beep after changing settings
Overall, I would consider these headphones totally worth the money for using when outside when travelling and working out due to the great comfort and being lightweight. If you are looking for the absolute best audio quality then I’d look elsewhere. Hopefully this review has been helpful.

Excellent battery life on these headphones. Used nearly every night and probably need charging ever 10 days. Charging itself isnt an issue and they are quickly charged and ready to use again.
Noise cancelling works as it should and means unwanted noise is never a problem. Sound is good with clear treble and good mid range although bass can be lacking. However for the size I’m not going to complain.
Bought for the wife as a Christmas present. They are so good she never hears the kids arguing or my moaning as they are constantly on her head.
Very good battery life.
very happy with these headphones, I tried them in John Lewis first and they cut out all of the shop noise perfectly. Great battery life and I think the sounds quality is spot on, a good price 75 for the noise cancelling and sound quality
For the money, these are exceptionally good headphones. Very comfortable, crystal clear sound and cancels noise far better than I expected. Highly recommended.
Comfortable to wear for long periods. Very pleased with the sound quality and battery life. Easy to link via Bluetooth but it will not link to more than 1 device at a time.
Pros:
Comfy
Bluetooth works great
Sound quality is superb for films and music
Comes with a 3.5mm lead for connecting to portable dvd player with no bluetooth
Cons:
Expensive, but you get what you pay for!
from easy to connect to noise cancelation, all functions as per price point. Step afead of any other headphones at this price range and below. Very light. You can forget you are vering them. Happy buyer.
I’m pretty happy with these headphones. They’re comfortable, look great and good for general music and video calling use. Can easily wear them all day without any ear ache.
Only downside is the ambient noise feature doesn’t work when you’re cycling as you just hear the sound of wind blowing in the your ear which is really annoying.
The noise cancellation is ok too, have only used it on the train and does reduce the hum.
Great otherwise.
Headphones broken with a couple of weeks, never dropped the item nor heavily used.
I’ve been using the Sony WH-CH710N for almost 3 weeks now, and I am very happy with them. They are lighter than the Sony MDR-XB950BT and so I find them much more comfortable and I’m able to wear them for longer periods.
Overall, I also prefer the sound of these to the Sony MDR-XB950BT as they are not so geared towards the bass, and so I find them more suitable for listening to a wider variety of music genres. The battery life is also very good even with the noise-cancelling function permanently on.
I am so far very happy with these headphones. All that’s left is to see how durable they are. If I run into any issues I will update my review.
Edit: 3 hours after my review, my 9 month old, 70 pond Greek Shepard destroyed them as they were charging.
I love them so much that I’m ordering another pair.
On the Design, It was just what I was expecting for a mid-tier headphone – Its generally a plastic build but not cheap to touch. A word of caution though, it doesn’t come with a carry-case so don’t be tempted to level it lying about unattended.
It comes with adaptive noise cancelling technology, but I did find that compared to the ground-breaking noise cancellation on the XM3 the 710N is no match. That said, Sony is on to something here. I almost feel that maybe if they sacrificed maybe the NFC functionality and gave us more ANC on the 710N, then I’ll be over the moon. But, if they did that then of course why will anyone invest in an XM3.
The CH170N comes with a 35-Hour Battery Life that’s what it says on the can, but I can confirm we were still able to use it closer to the 40-hour mark on a full charge. That’s Impressive!!
Overall this is a highly recommended buy for this tier, and I look forward to seeing more from Sony in this space.
