Bought this on a black friday sale to try out over-head headphones as in-ear ones were quite uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. This is perfect for flights and long study sessions. The noise cancellation also works really well, perfect for commuting. It is also very comfortable to have on for hours at a time and I really appreciate the quality for the price point. The touch controls make a lot of sense and I have never had an issue with bluetooth connectivity. Downloaded the sony app for a better experience and its really made listening to music so much more enjoyable. Would highly recommend.
I bought these for my girlfriend. She is very happy with them. They’re comfy and sound good. Only downside is the noise cancellation is a bit pants and they feel a little cheaply made for the cost, but then again I am used to my WH-1000XM3’s.

Honestly, didn’t know what to expect but I have been really impressed. Midrange and higher frequencies have opened up over time, connectivity is great and it suits the majority of my music tastes….which is basically everything. Not “purist” audio but characterful and absorbing, definitely not clinical! Money well spent.
Good quality clean sound with deep bass. The only small gripe…if you have the phones on for too long they get sweaty! However I’m really impressed with the overall sound of them. So much so that I bought a pair for my wife as well!!!
The comfort of the cups can be taken for granted. Utterly soft and reassuring even after three hours wearing.

There is only one drawback, there is no extra bass button for swift change. Instead, there is an app for customized sound quality. I would definitely buy another version with a bass button. If you like ASMR videos, these are fun for that. I quite easily fall asleep wearing these. A gorgeous envelope of sounds. Highly recommended.
I purchased these headphones as used and was thrilled when they arrived as new. I’m more than pleased with my purchase and a fantastic price.
These are the only noise cancelling headphones I’ve used so I can’t compare them to others in that regard but it is really interesting how they block out/muffle outside noises, I work with machinery and it really makes a difference, it does not magically mute everything but it drastically reduces it.
The sound itself is brilliant for me, listening to mostly bass heavy music I have bass cranked all the way up and it never seems to be distorted or wrong sounding, they’re great for hip hop, drum n bass and dance music. Listened to a fair bit of classical too and that sounds fine, sure you may be missing some subtle notes you’d get in more mid range focused headphones but these are fine. Especially used in conjunction with the sony headphone app you can alter everything via your phone!
Battery life is amazing, heavy usage will get me through a week sometimes just shy of a week, charging takes upto 6 hours for a full charge which isn’t an issue at all for me. USB C charging also which is a major plus.
Looks and feel is all spot on doesn’t feel cheap anywhere and the touch pad on the earcup is marvellous, allowing play pause with a double tap of your finger, skip with a swipe volume up by moving up and down. Also a cool feature is placing your hand over the right ear will lower your music and noise cancelling will amplify the outside so you can hear talking. Just like your hold your hand to your ear to hear better, it’s a great little feature.
Highly recommend these and one of the best purchases I’ve made.
The build quality of the product doesn’t feel as premium as the price but thats because the outer housing is plastic in order to make it a bit more mobile as the headphones are fiarly light weight compared to some.
The software companion in order to setup the headphones and get the best performance out of it works like a breeze and you are setup in a matter of seconds plus with the a dedicated google and alexa button plus full intergration makes the headphones even more practical on the go.
The overall sound quality of the headphones are exceptionally good for the price range even when volume is near to max, the tones and pitch are clear and the bass in which it produces actually provides a good immersion to the user and isolates a lot of the other sounds. The noise cancellation works fialry well however, expect to hear some noise in the background when not listening to music, I assume this is for safety reasons when out and about.
Overall a good pair of quality headpohnes that I would highly recommend to friends and family.
I’ve been toying with the XM3s for long enough but really like my bass so I thought I’d give these a go. The bass is there in spadefuls. It big and its in your face. Its not skullcandy crusher levels but it big. On occasion it can almost be too much but you asked for bass. You do sacrifice a bit of clarity in mids, not because its being drowned out by the bass it just isnt there in the first place.
Sony provide an app that lets you tweak the sound, modify the bass etc but it comes with a catch. To be able to use it you have to switch from best quality to stable connection. really annoying. The inclusion of ambient sound use by cupping your hand on one side is a nice touch at this price point.
Where these headphones suffered the most for me was the noise cancelling and the earcups. The noise cancelling is pretty poor and would almost be acceptable if it wasn’t for the earcups. The earcups are comfy enough but they heat up excessively to the point hat my ears were sweating to the point that I had water running down the side of my head. I’ve never had this with any other headphones before.

Excellent headphones, the extra bass is amazing and the battery last one week of good usage for me. The noisy canceling is really good, it is just not better than the top notch Sony’s headphones, but as far as it has the same functions as it, the headphone is pretty much amazing. The only regret that I may have is not had bought the expensive one to have a perfect headphone. Any way, this one is much more than I need and totally money worth for those that want amazing sound quality and functionality and don’t want to spend more than 140 .
I love them!! I’ve never used over ear/noise cancelling headphones before, so it took me a while to get used to the headphones pressing on the top of my jaw, which was quite uncomfortable. After I got used to it, however, I was able to fully appreciate the amazing sound quality these headphones provide. The bass is just absolutely extraordinary, and makes a seemingly mediocre song (when listened to with AirPods) absolutely phenomenal. The quality is premium (even though it’s mostly plastic), the weight is light, and look very clean and trendy. If you’re looking for a way to escape from reality during quarantine, then these are the headphones you need!
Best bluetooth headphones I’ve used in a long time…However…
The swipe gesture for skip song/volume work fine but I wish there was a button or even using the left earcup for pause. Pause takes me 3-4 taps everytime to actually work – very very iffy which stops this getting 5 stars

If in a quite place, noise cancelling works perfectly. As i am a student who travels a lot by bus, i walk a lot to the bus stop, usually can hear the cars passing by, but really depends on the songs you’re listening to. I really like these. Very simple to set up and use. The app does have some good functionality, such as being able to set different noise cancellation settings depending on whether you’re walking, sitting or on public transport. The noise cancellation also works very well. There is a noticeable difference when it is on and off. Of course, nothing will eliminate all external noise. They are relatively comfortable. I found an hour or so to be the maximum before needing a break, but I don’t have any headphones that have been any better than that for me. The sound quality is really very good, and the microphone also works very well. It’s a bit of a pain switching between different bluetooth devices, and it will always default to the last used one, but it’s not that big of a deal. You just have to remember to switch bluetooth off on the last device before connecting to a new one. All in all, I’m very pleased with them.
I think that the sound is optimised by downloading others Apps which I won’t be doing.

The noise cancellation on these headphones is not as good as the Sony 1000mx3s or Bose QC35 ii, but the xb900ns still are an excellent pair of headphones. Definitely worth it.

The sound is perfect for my needs as a 30s guy. Overall 4.5 stars for sound, great soundstage as it surprisingly maintains good mid range, 5 stars for bass for today’s music but a slight loss of detail particularly on the high end trebles.
A steal as it’s half the price of the flagship 1000 but it’s just one notch below in terms of quality.
The only main criticism is noise cancellation which is ok but only fully implemented in the 1000. Do you really need it? Perhaps if you have a long noisy commute or frequently fly for work.
The battery is amazing, stays on 50% forever!

Charge for 10 minutes, lasts 60 minutes is my favourite feature, bass is alright, its not head rocking, overall I recommend this to anyone who uses YouTube all day everyday, going for food? Put these on the charge, come back, unplug them and you’ll get 60/120 minutes of battery, it’s crazy technology.
Silly really but given the name of these headphones I was surprised just how much the bass was ramped up. I think that I will go for the WH-1000XM3 before too long.
Ahhhh Sony, my favourite manufacturer, always a quality product no matter what. Deep unfettered bass that compliments the mids and highs, that’s a given it s a quality sony sound signature. Some say too bassy, I dont find that at all, it’s an extra bass product and it does not stray too far into the lower frequencies, but just enough to give you that night club feel. I could review these standing on my head sony just mic drop every product they do, so it could be easy to get complacent you would say, well….
One gripe I have is that the noise cancellation falls well short of what I would expect at this price range, it is clear they do not want to tread on the toes of the more expensive xm3000’s, and have toned down the performance somewhat. Which is fine these are cheaper ofcourse but they’ve toned it down too much, too such a point that it doesn’t compete with older cans like the sennheiser hd4.50bt’s. Which is a shame because everything else about these, design, comfort, usability are close to their older more expensive sibling.
Sure the chassis is made of a slightly grained cheaper plastic but for me these things look cooler than the xm3’s they dont have the god awful jut out at the bottom of the earpiece, it’s just straight and minimal. Cool sony logos on each side of the headband, Alexa and google assistant support, excellent call quality.
The sound is not for all types of music, it doesn’t suit say, classical or jazz, but I guessing that’s not the target audience. Yeah they are for dance and hip hop lovers, they say they can accept hd codecs, maybe im spoilt but it doesnt seem clear enough to me but then again I’m comparing with far der more expensive cans.
Look heres the deal, if you want a fun, perfectly formed excellently engineered product at a price range that fits most pockets then you cant go wrong, it’s not audiophile level quality but it is a punchy and fun sound house, I have a blast with these on so that tells you the story just get em and enjoy em, oh yeah great for gaming too, just the right amount of zing and pop for those explosions. Bit of a closed soundstage though but yeah I’m getting tangled up in my own headphone cable here.

Noise cancelling is very good, though not quite up to Bose standard. Makes up for it in the sound quality. Excellent standard. My previous headphones have been Bose and Sennheiser. I’m very happy I gave these ones a try. Great phone conversations too
Great pair of headphones for the price. The sound quality is great with the app providing the ability to dynamically change settings to give the sound to suit the music or show. Provides multiple settings for noise cancelling, ambient sound control and normal mode. Ambient sound control is great for phone calls where you can hear the surrounding but also your call.
Hands free phone calls have great sound with almost all background noise being cancelled out.
Would recommend these headphones, comparing to the next level up pair, these are great value for money with only a slight improvement in sound quality on the WH-1000MX3.

I bought these as a Christmas present to myself, after seeing someone one the tube with them. I didn’t need new headphones, but got convinced by the cordless factor. I’m so glad I bought them! The battery power is amazing, I haven’t had to charge them since the first time and I’ve been on a 2 week holiday with 2 8hr flights and then 2 3hr train journeys!! Sound is awesome for both music and film/TV. Totally recommended!!
I paid approx 130 for these. They sound fantastic, best I’ve owned by miles. All the bass you’ll ever want. They are comfy, battery life is great, they fold nicely and the wireless is effortless. So the following picky comments are in that context:
Noise cancelling noticeably dulls external sound, but it’s still there in quiet songs. The nature of these being cans makes it difficult to curl up in a high back chair. I wear them for ages, cos I love the sound, but eventually my ears get hot. The touch controls can be hard to locate. You do need the app to set up the sound properly, but it’s fine forever after you’ve done it. They come with a short usbC cable. Don’t throw that away like I did, it’s not ubiquitous yet!
If you are spending decent cash on headphones, you need to know this small stuff. But for all that, they also sound great and are easy to use. I love them.
That was a Xmas present. However, seeing my wife going out with all the time showed me how much she is attached to it. The other day, she left home and then came back after 3 minutes saying i forgot my headphones, I could not go without them so I had to come back..
For the money these are amazing headphones you have control over the sound through the ap the defiantly live up to name extra bass but you can tone it down in settings great for house, tech-house, drum & bass & band music.
Would highly recommend. Controls on headphones are great once you get used to how they work. I was going for 1000 that are nearly double in cost as I bought my first pair of these 900 for a present and ending just getting a pair myself. As I didn’t really need the extra noise cancelling you get going up a level.
First impression was great, I used the NC in the house and was impressed how it did help to reduce the background noise. But after a short while, I had climatised to the level of sound and the NC seemed like it was not there. I would refer the NC as noise reduction, not cancellation. The more expensive Sony WH-1000 XM3’s have a better cancelling function, but are well over 100 more. Still not sure it is worth the further ton.
The sound quality however is amazing. Clear, crisp and with DSEE, you have some great sound code. The additional bass in this model is fantastic… if you like bass. It doesn’t distort the overall experience, it enhances some tracks that has some deeper tones you didn’t even know we’re there. Connectivity is great too, I can walk around my solid built apartment and not get any Bluetooth drop off, allowing me to leave the phone in one room whilst pausing, changing track and even asking Google to like a song on Spotify without having to touch my phone.
Battery life is second to none, I am so accustomed to other Bluetooth devices dying after a few days, that I have carried a charger with me. No need anymore. I have managed two trips to London and another to Manchester and still have 50% battery left. I don’t know how, but I’m not going to question the battery Gods.
Overall, these headphones are a delight. The NC isn’t the best, but this issue quickly pales in to comparison when you hear the sound, use the actually easy gesture controls (don’t understand why people say it’s so complicated) and the comfort these offer. Have had them on for hours at a time and no ear ache etc.
I will most likely have these for the next couple of years, but will most likely go back to Sony when I need another pair I’m sure in a few years time, they will still be the best.

Brilliant sound quality, I did have to reduce the bass via the app but was expecting this having read reviews.
The sound cancellation is brilliant and allows me to sit in my works loud canteen without disruption.
I use them daily and hardly have to charge them, brilliant battery life and the Bluetooth connecting is extremely fast.
Last thing I should mention is the comfort. The ear cups are nice and soft, and the headband is lovely. Most comfortable headphones I’ve owned. The only thing I would say is it tends to get quite hot wearing them after a while.
Overall very hard to fault them, especially not for the price.

Was looking for a pair of headphones to replace my bose from a fees years ago and found these and decided to go for them,
I saw that they emphasize the bass but also have very good general output.
I have found them to be a vast improvement as most new technology is however the bass does seem to overpower alot of songs especially accoustic music.
Overall I would recommend for the bass lover but if you would like to listen to softer music or audiobooks look elsewhere.
Great, but ANC is pretty bad. It barely cancels out background noise, be it airplane, bus or road noises, worse than those at fraction of the price. ANC is unusable in outdoor environments because the tiniest breeze will cause loud wind noises that are audible in the headphones which ruins the music experience. So practically, the ANC is only usable for indoor environments when the sound levels are low. Otherwise it will not do much in terms of cancellation and it sometimes makes other noises even louder than they are.
However, sound and build quality are great; no major complaints. There is a minor issue with audio though: it sometimes produces somewhat of a high pitched noise (not very loud) when no media is playing (even when ambient sound and ANC are off). It’s not audible when media is playing.
The battery life is superb. It lasts me more than advertised (for now, at least). Charging is ridiculouslu slow though (5V 0.2A = 1W) and takes about 6 hours for a full charge.
Signal quality is okay. I have had some interferences where even cheap headphones did not. It happens in both modes, LDAC and SBC. My phone is a Galaxy S9 so it should not be due to the phone and does not happen with my Anker wireless earbuds.
If you cannot find this for less than 90, it’s not worth it. For what I paid (128), this is absolutely not worth it. You’d be better off with some cheaper pairs, or even the Sennheiser BT 4.50 NC for 70-80. Overall I’m satisfied with the audio and app support, but ANC is pretty much useless.

Best headphones I ever used. I may be biased as these are my first upgrade from the cheaper mPow headphones I used, but these blow me away. Sound is amazing, you can even make it work magic with the Google assistant to make it read notifications and give you information. It’s amazing.

I use these earphones for heavy gym use, apart from making my ears sweat, these are fab. Take away all the ambient noise which allows you to focus on the exercise you’re performing. Battery life is amazing, I cannot fault these headphones. Price comparison wise they’re far better value than other competitors such as Bose
superb sound quality. superb battery life. mobile aap has 5 equaliser mode. mic is also good but not recommended for official meeting in a crowdy place. it picks back ground noise. But works really great if you are talking in a meeting room. Overall its good. Based on the price I was expecting case which is not given.

Sound is really nice. Due to more bass it’s not as crisp but still really good. Love the functions on the right earcup. (Swipe up down left or right)… And the best of all is the ability to hear surroundings with ambient function! It feels strange and yet so cool. Just touch your nfc ready smartphone to the left earcup and it will connect/disconnect itself!

Bought as a gift for my husband. He loves it and said it made the commute on bus and tube bearable.
Long lasting batteries, very good sound and he loves the noise cancelling.
Overall I know people always prefer the more expensive M3’s, and if you are an audiophile you will likley enjoy the benefits they have to offer. But if you just want great headphones, with really good noise cancellation for what I feel is a very reasonable price (especially if you like bassier music) then you will not go wrong with these. Best headphones I’ve had yet.
I’ve never spent over 100 on headphones before, so these are my first proper high end headphones. The sound quality is beyond stunning and songs I’ve listened to before, sound completely different in such higher quality! I can now listen to bass music without distortion aswell I decided these over beats and bose as they were both out my budget and as I travel alot, I didn’t really want “flashy” headphones on show. But these are definitely great to start with, as I just enjoy listening to music while travelling and don’t want the heavy noise in the background. The sound canceling is not bad too. Not the best. But good. Definitely happy with this purchase! 🙂 I got the 2 year guarantee from amazon for a extra 20! So fully protected
At 129 these are great value. cannot fault them at all.
Downloaded the app from google play (its called Sony Headphones Connect) and set them up in seconds. The sound quality is amazing.
some great fetures and so easy to increase volume or pause and skip tracks just by sliding or pressing your fingures on the side of the right ear cup.

This headphone set will be classed my second best fr when doing jobs around the home. Excellent sound quality but I also have the BOSE QC 35 series 2. Now your talking quality but for what I want this for great. Excellent to keep nosey parkers away when you are on channel X.when privacy is a must.

Bass is crazyyyyyy and you can make it even stronger using sony app where you can customise the sound and make it sound like you are in the club, arena, concert hall or in your gf mum’s house and many more!
Prior to buying I was deciding between this model and a JBL ones but honestly mate buy SONY and you won’t regret it.
I listen to all kinds of music and when using and changing the customisation within app you can get the best quality ever – mid range, high and low like cmon mate this stuff is great. Sony app can even enhance the quality of your music.
There is siri / alexa or whatever build in but I don’t use any of that so cannot really say anything interesting about it mate.
You can even get 360 sound but you need to send pictures of yours ears so they can analyse it for you. Up to you mate.
Connection is super strong –> is stronger then Ronnie Coleman squatting 800lbs. No jokes.
They feel and are comfortable on yo head mate – shake your head like crazy they still will be there hitting you with baseeeeeeeeeee
To sum up, mate just get them.

Had these headphones for a while now and there amazing built quality lovely sound with nice deep clean bass and with the headphone app to make your own eq as well also set the second button for google/Alex or noise cancelling
Fantastic headphones, very comfortable and sounds great, I expected more bass considering the Ch700n I had before it but it’s not bad at all and for the deal I got I’m very satisfied.

Here is my full review vs my previous CH700N.
Pros:
-Much more comfortable.
-Type C, no need for a different cable if you already have a smartphone using one.
-More detailed and much clearer sound, bass doesn’t destroy other frequencies.
-Better bass, I said initially I expected more, but really all I needed to do is to raise the volume to feel the rumbling lol.
-Noise cancellation is much better but not to the level of the 1000XM3s, it has most of the 1000XM3s features, so if they gave it a same level of noise cancellation, it will destroy its sales.
Cons:
-Less battery life, I guess because of the bass.
-The CH700N is a bit louder, it can really hurt your ear if you crank the volume up.
-I like the new touch controls, but they can accidentally execute a wrong order.
Overall I’m very happy with mu purchase, and I really recommend the XB900Ns, especially if they go on sale, they are totally worth the money.
The headphones proved to be actually better than expected. The bass which some people are complaining as being too much, and it is if you have a more neutral ear, it can be adjusted from the app. I just like having the option to have the extra bass if I want to. I love all sorts of music, from classic, opera, jazz, rock to rap, pop and podcasts. The headphones just do a splendid job. I have another Sony MDR-10RBT headphones which I have been using for the last 4 years and I still love them. It is a very big gap in term of sound quality and features between them in favour of the Sony WH-900N extra bass. I wasn’t totally blown away by the 360 features but it is still great to have on the phone, I may develop a taste for it.
Good headphones if you get them under 130 pounds. I have the mx2 and mx3 and these are a step above this but the sound of all three is great. The bass on these are heavy, but still great quality, not cheap sounding at all. Sound canceling is 1/4 of the mx3’s , so if you’re after that then get the MX3s
The headphones are soft and very comfortable to wear. Sound is great and handling easy. The Pairing with multiple devices works fine.
What i can say it just wow. I am really happy with sound quality, comfort, and battaey. I used before bose soundsportband had issues with that. This headphones even better then Sony’s top 1000m. I could recomand this to anyone
These retain the great touch and ambient gestures of the XM3s though. Build quality seems good but I tend to abuse my headphones so time will tell, a shame Sony were a bit cheap not supplying a hard case especially for the price. Comfort is fine, the ears do sweat a bit after time like most over ears.
So far I don’t regret my purchase.
the best feature on these headphones are the Quick Attention Feature, it’s already proven quite useful when friends want to say something to me and I no longer have to take off the headphones to do that.
There is no more separate bass button to turn it on and off like before, you now have to use an app to do that now, touch controls are straightforward but can be inaccurate when trying to navigate the controls, I’m still trying to get used to them.
There is a bit of sound leakage compared to the xb N1s I used to have, I’m not sure but I think it has to do with the way they are designed now especially with the over the ear cups.
the USB type c cable that was included, the length is a joke honestly, it was laughably small thankfully I had a spare cable around and used that instead.
I am unable to hear calls when I receive them, I am unable to find a solution to this problem currently, the voice is distorted and low, not sure if anyone has the same issue as me or some way to fix the issue.
the bass is honestly amazing, I’ve used them for more than a week and it’s taken a while for them to burn in but they do sound great now especially with some high quality music.
