This wood screw is suitable for fixing rafters or on-roof insulation systems. The screw surface is coated with Spax-exclusive Wirox technology. Compared to conventional surfaces, Wirox has a higher corrosion protection and a significantly higher surface hardness, which makes it exceptionally durable and abrasion resistant. Wirox refined Spax are therefore ideal for both indoor and outdoor use without direct weathering, for example in carports, where they are exposed to the outside air thanks to a canopy, but not directly to the weather. WIROX also protects the environment, as chrome (VI) is omitted. The power attack T-Star plus together with the matching bit ensures optimal power transmission. Screwing overhead is also possible without any problems.

The flat head guarantees higher pulling forces and thus enables savings in terms of quantity and working time. Thanks to the Spax wave profile, the wood fibre can be cut more easily. Thanks to its four edges in the screw tip, the 4CUT allows processing without pre-drilling (depending on the wood) as well as easier penetration into the material.

Plate head.

The plate-like head of the screw increases the contact surface on the workpiece and thus guarantees considerably higher pulling force compared to a countersunk screw. The Spax flat head allows better sealing of the wood.

Wave profile and 4CUT

The advantage of the Spax wave profile compared to conventional threads is that it can easily cut through the fibres of the material. This works similar to a knife with serrated edge, which e.g. for example, when cutting a tomato offers the same advantages. The wave profile on the thread in combination with the 4CUT allows processing without pre-drilling (depending on the wood). The 4CUT square displaces the fibres of the wood with its four edges in the screw tip. This effectively reduces splicing of the material and reduces the screw-in torque.

T-Star plus.

The T-Star plus force attack reduces the contact force when screwing to a minimum and high torque can be transferred to the screw. This force attack has a small recess in the screw head, in which the matching T-Star plus bit with guide pins can be inserted. This T-Star plus connection ensures optimal power transmission, long service life of the T-Star plus bits and a perfect fit. Processing Spax overhead is possible without any problems, as the screw is much better guided and cannot fall off the bit so easily.

WIROX

The Spax-exclusive silver Wirox coating offers higher corrosion protection than conventional bare zinc plating. This makes it ideal for outdoor use in buildings such as Pergolas that are not exposed to direct weathering. WIROX also has a significantly higher surface hardness and is therefore more resistant to mechanical stress.
