Splatoon 2 (Nintendo Switch)
What is Splatoon 2?
Itâs splat or be splatted.
The squid kids called Inklings are back to splat more ink and claim more turf in this colourful and chaotic 4-on-4 action shooter.
For the first time, take Turf War battles on-the-go with the Nintendo Switch system, and use any of the console’s portable play styles for intense local multiplayer action. Even team up for 4-player co-op fun in Salmon Run.
Two years later.
Two years have passed since the original Splatoon game was released, and two years have also passed in Inkopolis. So expect a fresh wave of fashion, not to mention some weapons and gear. Dual wield the Splat Dualies or stick to mainstays like chargers and rollers, which have been remixed with strategic possibilities. As always, Turf War is the favoured sport among Inklings, but they also dig ranked battles, taking down Octarians in a robust single-player campaign, and battling enemy Salmonids in one dangerous part-time job! No matter which way you play, splat at home or on-the-go with Nintendo Switch. Staying fresh never felt so good.
Team up for Salmon Run.
There’s a curious employment agency called Grizzco in Inkopolis Square where you can find a part-time job. It’s dangerous work though! Work as a team to take out incoming Salmonid and collect the Power Eggs they leave behind. You can then sell these Power Eggs and use the proceeds to pay for enhanced weapons and gear.
In order to gather the Power Eggs, you’ll need to enter dangerous terrain where the Salmonid live. It’s too dangerous to go alone, so you’ll form a team of between two and four players.

I’ve wanted this game for ages i have finally bought it its amazing great game for people who wanna have fun it came in the package came quick and is a great online game online subscription is required to play the game but i new this before i bought the switch I’m just putting it because some people don’t know that and then give a review of 1 stars even tho the game is great. There are some bad reviews but that’s about issues not about the game quality.
My son loves it, plays it all the time. Its easy to pick up and being able to play with friends is great.,
Well worth the money. very addictive.
Bought this game for my nephew on his birthday. He absolutely loved it, one of his favourite games. I’m not a gamer myself but I’m giving 5 stars based on my 11-year-old nephew’s experience. He’s really happy with this game.
Ideal gift and is a really good game, lots of different levels to enjoy
i love this game so much!! i got the game a bit late from everyone else but it is v lively n i love playing it so much !!
My kid just loves to play this game over and over again. 3 days after I bought it she only played Splatoon.
Great game kids love it. Just keep in mind you need a yearly membership to get passed level 1.
I love the 2 stories in the game, the hero story is a bit hard to complete but once you’ve through you can use whatever gun you want that you like, e.g. I like the 2 pistols, the 2nd story which is the DLC story is REALLY hard but I just managed to get through especially the final bit, you only got 3mins to finish.
Okay??? We have to stan. Pearl and marina really saved my life! Don’t get cooked stay off the hook init. The OST???? Banger after banger after banger. Can’t forget Mr Grizz who is the love of my life. Stanning him every day of the week xxxxx fun game I loves it xxx
This review is for a splatoon 2.. what a strange game but absolutely loved by the kids.
Since we got this game nothing else is being played on the switch. Personally I’m not even sure what aim is of it but my 8 and 8 year old love it.
Well worth the cost, lots of playability! Great game.
On the down side is you have to be a member of nindendo online to get the best out of the game.
Great game, great gameplay. Keeps my son entertained for hours
Gave to nephew for birthday, his feedback was very good.
Brilliant messy fun for kids and adults alike.be warned though you need a Nintendo online subscription to get the most out of it as there’s not a huge amount of single player content.makes a big change from your usual shooters .loads of weapons and customisation and very addictive.just one more match kinda thing.very fun game
Love this so much, my little one cannot stop playing this. Keep him entertained for a few hrs. Worth the money ^^ .only downside now is that u have to pay 17.99 for a year membership to play online with others. Nintendo recently changed it.
Splatoon 2 builds on it’s Wii U predecessor, offering more of the same multiplayer fun but bringing it to a much larger player base. If you are a fan of multiplayer games or third person shooters than I would strongly suggest giving it a go. The game is full of Nintendo’s Trademark charm.
The ‘Octo Expansion’ DLC (available on the eShop) also adds a very fun and rewarding single player campaign (the one that comes with the ‘vanilla’ version of the game is not the best) and I would highly recommend it. It’s one of the best bits of DLC Nintendo have ever produced.
One of the best games ever. I would definitely recommend i
Splatoon 2 for the switch, son is very happy, keeps going back to play time and time again.
Great game, it would be even better if I could get on line to play it co-op
My wee girl who’s 6 loves it . It’s a great game way to introduce kids to online play. Nice friendly community.
Bought as a Christmas present for my 7 year old grandson, he was delighted with it. Prompt delivery too
It was a Christmas present for my grandson and he’s well chuffed
Exactly as described! Very addictive & great fun for all the family to enjoy!
amazing product fast delivery really good. Don’t listen to the bad reviews! They are people who didn’t do their research. Yes you need an online subscription but don’t let that stop you playing this fun child friendly shooter!
Its Splatoon 2, which is a brilliant shooter although you use paintballs not bullets to tag your opponents. Campaign mode isn’t particularly long but, the real fun is in multiplayer online games so you will need a Switch online account but, in return you’ll have hours and hours of fun and if you are good enough there are tournaments with real world money to be won (we can dream!).
Chat is possible with the slightly crap Switch app which uses your phone but it doesn’t detract from the game at all and there are other better options available if playing with a regular team is your thing!
Probably should be in everyone’s game library!
Bought for one of my friends kids they are on it now!!
Bought for grandson for Christmas, quick delivery can’t comment on how good the game is till after Christmas
I do not know about it but my grandson whom l bought it for seems happy enough with i
Bought for my 10 year old grandson. I asked him if he like it. His reply was I absolutely love it.he absolutely
Absolutely superb game – my daughter loves it and it is actually an improvement on the original
Good game for kids and for adults. Easy to play, much more accessible than other games like Fortnite
Excellent game, but not great for people with bad wifi!
This product was for my Granddaughter and she loves i
I didn’t like the look of it at first but it’s an amazing game when you get into it.
Fun game although the start when you launch it get tedious
Very fun and has hours upon hours of playtime! Amazing!
The game was bought as a Christmas present for my daughter.
She loved it at first but has now got a little tired of it. (As with most games)
She shows a lot more interest in the game when she can play it online.
She does prefer the multiplayer options.
My 2 grandsons aged 10 and 8 love this game so as far as I am concerned it was an excellent purchase
This game is very good for children and adults that likes online with other players . Anyway I enjoyed this game!
Purchased for one of my young grandsons, who seems to enjoy it… given the amount of time he spends playing it. I don’t know enough about the product to comment on the technology.
Bought as a Christmas present for family member. I can only say the recipient was absolutely delighted and happy and excited when he opened the present so it made my day to see his face all lit up. Other than that can’t comment except to say thanks to supplier who sent it at short notice so Santa could deliver! I can recommend and would use again.
My kids have not stopped playing this since purchase.
Good fun to play.
My 8 and 10 year old sons have loved playing this game since receiving it on Christmas day – it is good fun, especally if you have the online subscription where you can play in teams.
Really like the game but you can’t play split screen which seems odd on a console that encourages multiple players
Very happy 12 year old who then trained up a now extremely happy 5 year old. Me…40 + yet to see the fascination. But as long as their happy. Even better when a friend also has a switch.
Splatoon 2 is a must have for any Nintendo Switch owner who already has Mario and Zelda.
It’s a great concept for a shooter in the only way Nintendo can do it. Multiplayer is the most fun.
Great game for my 8 year old. Online games brilliant but shame Nintendo charge for these after couple of weeks trial.
This is a sequel to one of the best wii u games, Splatoon, this game starts a whole new story which doesn’t require you to play the last game although it’s better if you do. The story is about you trying to rescue the zapfish form the octolings although the online play is probably the main focus of the game.
The online play has 7 different modes, the main one being turf war which the objective is to paint the most turf but then there is also ranked mode which is unlocked at level 10 which is a bot more serious and includes 5 different modes which help you get to the beast rank S+
The final mode is probably the best, Salmon run which is like a horde mode
This game does suffer from feeling too much like the first although that isn’t much of a problem with the new modes
This is a must buy for Switch
Not a radical leap forward from Splatoon on the Wii U, but that game was absolutely corking – why mess with a brilliant recipe? The minor additions add to the game rather than subtracting, but I confess to feeling ever so slightly let down considering how close this is to its predecessor.
A fantastic family game. The fact players are splatting rather than some games which encourage shooting is a real plus.
Pure wholesome fun with a great premise and tight controls. Offers a classically Nintendo singleplayer that squeezes the most out of the gameplay elements and a dlc that goes above and beyond adding more mechanics and some delightfully challenging experiences.
Good game a lot better than the first and it keeps getting better the amount they keep adding is just brilliant.
Excellent game with an enjoyable story and amazing online mode that will keep you playing for hours. Definitely a must have!
Ace game, my 9 year-old loves it, but me, I have no idea how it works so I’m taking his lead on this one.
I ordered this game for my grand children. I received it promptly and sent it to them. They are delighted with this game and are thoroughly enjoying playing it. A very satisfactory transaction. Patricia McNally
Fun game that I bought for my sister but admittedly I’ve been playing it a lot more than I intended 🙂 Addictive
What a game Splatoon 2 is! From someone who has never played a single Splatoon game, I found the concept and controls easy to pick up. Frantically running round splatting paint everywhere was so much fun. I have to admit, I was sceptical at first, and I’m not disappointed.
Pros;
Lots of fun
Great online functionality
Lots of customisable and buyable clothes and weapons
Works great in both handheld and docked
Cons;
No split screen support
Limited gameplay when there’s no internet (cars/planes etc)
I used a couple gift vouchers and managed to reduce the price. 44.99? Maybe a little steep. The price I paid seems much more reasonable: 35. Definitely a game I’m proud to have in my collection however!
Like all games that rely on dexterity and speed I fail miserably. However my kids love it and love beating me at it. Needs online for multiplay, otherwise good fu
Bought this for myself and wasn’t too sure if I would enjoy because I thought I maybe too old for this sort of game. But I’m definitely not too old. It’s very colourful but can be difficult if you go in-depth. Salmon Run is a great addition to the game also. Way more fun than I ever expected.
Bought as a Christmas present for our grandson, he loves it, so that’s good.
I have used this on a mgtf, xsara picasso, Honda accord and bmw Z3. It’s work as it should on every one. It’s cheap and the quality is good. It even comes in a plastic case that so far seems durable.
Was bought for my daughter. Endless hours of fun, highly addictive and hard to get bored of.
I wasn’t sure whether to buy this game or not but so glad I did! It’s such good fun and I haven’t even explored half the game yet! Mario Kart took up most of my Switch time and now this has taken over!
This was purchased for our Grandson, he loves it and plays it most days.
Not my sort of software but 8 year old grandson thought it was tremendous. His friends spent considerable time playing with this game.
Both kids received this at xmas and they both seemed very pleased with it. Though had to set them up with a Nintendo account to access the game play.
My son loves this game. I can’t quote see the appeal but he thinks it’s awesome!
Splatoon 2 is a great game, the single player experience will keep you busy while your offline but I wouldn’t call it outstanding, it’s a blast to get through but where the real action starts is in the Multiplayer Segmant of the game. Joining up with a team online is an absolute joy, levelling up and unlocking new clothes or weapons for your character (squid) keeps the game fresh and exciting. You won’t get bored of this one, another MUST BUY for the Nintendo switch.
a good game marred by occasional glitchy internet connection issues (not a fault of the game itself).
Great game for the whole family, I’m not usually into these types of games but Splatoon is a whole different thing! Good fu
Really good game which is prlerfectly balanced. Unfortunately it didnt add very much to the original which ai played a lot of on the Wii U so only 4/5
I really enjoyed my time with splatoon 2 and will keep on enjoying my time with it.
Like many people I have limited time to myself working and studying at the same time I don’t seem to have a lot of free time to do whatever I want. But splatoon really captured me. I don’t really play shooters or multiplayer games at all really. I really enjoy the controls and the whole concept of the game. What can be frustrating is that I’m still not that good at the game so I can find myself on some long losing streaks which can be infuriating, while some might say it’s my fault for not being good, it still impacts my enjoyment when you try your best and it’s just loss after loss. While you still get rewards for how you play which help when you don’t win a match for 5/6 rounds that’s when it can get frustrating. But having said all that I still really enjoyed this game. Salmon run is great with friends but I wish I could do it anytime I wanted to rather than set times, and while the single player part is basic I still enjoyed it.
Very addictive game! Takes a long time to build up, so you will be playing this game for weeks if not months. Get it!
Great fun, especially with friends. I’m not great at shooting games, but this fun take on the genre is extremely accessible.Shame there’s no voice chat (without and app and extra cables that just isn’t practical for the average user.)
If you own a Switch, you should probably just go ahead and buy this. It’s single player campaign is worth the cost of entry alone, but it’s real strength lies in the sublime multiplayer madness. Truly spectacular.
A sequel to one of best-selling franchises in the Wii U, now you can play it anywhere and anytime.
“A great game but lacks single player features”
This is the review from my son who I bought the game for, a boy of few words!!
Splatoon 2 is the sequel to the surprise hit from 2015 on the Wii U. The game is simple in its premise but complex in its strategy. You are a squid like creature that can change between kid that can use weapons, to a squid that can swim fast along the ground and up walls.
However, while the game is amazingly fun and addictive to play it is undeniably a disappointment in many areas and feels more like a 1.5 version then a complete new entry in the series.
First off the game is severely lacking anything new of any real value. All the game modes from the first are back along with most of the levels and weapons. However it still uses that annoying timed system where only two levels are playable at a time. I’m not sure how often they rotate (I think it’s daily but I’m not sure) but I found myself playing the same two maps for around an hour and soon become frustratingly board of playing them over and over again.
There is a new game mode called Salmon Run but so far, I’ve yet to play it as for some reason it can only be played during certain times and I never seem to be around during those times.
It does boast some customizing with the ability to purchase new clothing which have game changing effects like speed boost and toughness to name just a couple. You can also select the hair style, skin and eye colour but apart from that, not much else. However, that being said it is an improvement on the first game so it should be credited for that.
But enough about what the game doesn’t have and more about wat it does. The game is split into two styles, single player and multiplayer.
The single player continues the story from the first game and is pretty much the same thing. You start at the beginning of the level and must make your way through it until you reach the end. A little bit like Mario 3D land / World. While it is better than the first games campaign, I was still disappointed by it. It feels like more of the same with a few new things thrown in for good measure. I personally would like to have seen a real campaign adventure like the upcoming Mario Odyssey or even a Zelda style game. I know many will disagree but you have to admit, the single player does feel quite dull at times. It does have some replay value to it though as there are collectables in each level and you can replay any level with any new weapons you pick up later on. So as I say, the single player isn’t bad just safe. It doesn’t try anything major nor does it stray from the first games shadow.
However, this game is really all about multiplayer and it doesn’t disappoint there!
If you’ve played the first game then you already know what it’s all about but for newbies I tell you how it works. You are split into two teams of four and are armed with weapons that shoot ink. The team that covers the most ground with their teams colour wins! You gain no points for killing the other team (although many players don’t seem to take notice of that!) and while it might sound a little dull it really is great fun and very addictive. There are a couple of other modes such as king of the hill style game but they are only available once you reach a certain level.
One thing I did miss was the minigame from the first game while waiting in the lobby. Not sure why it was taken out but still a shame to see it missing.
Overall though the game is undeniably fun despite its shortcomings. While I do feel this game may have been rushed to fill up the Switches library, it is still a worthy purchase. A disappointing sequel but still a fun and addictive game. Also, the inklings are super cute!
Gameplay (17/20)
Graphics (16/20)
Sound (18/20)
Replay Value (17/20)
Value for Money (16/20)
Total (84/100)
Love the game, but am knocking a star down simply for the fact that you cannot play this game in two player mode without each of you having to have a switch console each and and additional copy of the game in order to do so.
This was not an issue with the WiiU version of the game, so was very annoyed when I finally received this and could not play this with my daughter. (so I just wish this was clearer when I bought it). We both have a switch, so wouldn’t have minded that part, but if I had known before hand that we needed a copy of the game each, then I would have ordered two.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a wonderful game, but just be aware that if you intend to play this with anyone else, you will each need a switch console, and you will each need a copy of the game to do so.
Not a shooter fan, least not on consoles, was really on the fence on this one, but after having a shot during one of their open weekends, gave it a go and liked what I got to play enough to buy it.
So glad I did, having a blast playing this, the matches are short 3 minutes so it’s easy to pick up for a few matches if you have time to kill, but it’s just a lot of fun to run around, try different weapons, die, lose, doesn’t matter, it’s just good fun splatting the zones.
Would recommend this to any Switch owner!
I am not into shooter games but gave this one a try. I was playing the campaign in the beggining and wasn’t impressed with the game so then I tried the online mode and I am having so much fun in the turf war mode! The battles are long enough to keep you wanting for more. The only disadvantage is that sometimes players leave the battles, perhaps due to connectivity issues so you end up playing with or against teams with less than 4 players. Btw I think I am having more fun with Splatoon 2 than with Mario Kart. Try this one and see you at the turf!
I had no intention whatsoever of buying Splatoon 2, that was until the Global Splatfest. Players had the opportunity to understand how the game operates, and take part in choosing one of two options that would decide which team you would fight for. With the instruction to ink as much as possible, the game is relatively simple, but in terms of gameplay, possesses a certain charm. The game does not focus on targeting the other team’s players, but instead bases victory on who paints most; you can choose what weapon strategically seems to work in your favour. With a range of weapons to choose from, such as paint rollers, brushes and sprayers, including subweapons and special attacks, there’s an opportunity to explore what suits best for you.
Other game modes include Ranked, which changes the game mode every two hours. Rainmaker (objective: grab and use the Rainmaker weapon from the centre of the stage, and bring it to your opponents side), Tower Battles (objective: jump aboard the tower in the centre of the stage, and have it arrive at the opponents side) and Splatzones (objective: cover the various highlighted zones with paint) present various challenges whilst facing your opponents. Another mode that occurs several times throughout a typical week includes Salmon Run, in which you are teamed up with three other players to defeat enemies and return eggs to an egg basket.
This leads me onto the aspect of multiplayer. There is no split-screen multiplayer option, so you will not be able to play with a friend of family member using your single Switch. The multiplayer option provided is that you must be friends with someone who owns a Switch, however even still, you may be placed in opposite teams when your intention was to play together. And if you are placed within the same team, you will not have an easy method of communication. Instead, you will need to download an app, or use an alternative method.
Having said that, a steady flow of updates do occur, with new weapons and stages introduced. Such attention to the game ensures the game does not become stale. The benefits of the game far outweigh the drawbacks, though the drawbacks could certainly be amended in future. Splatoon 2 is largely enjoyable, with a variety of weapons, game modes and updates that help to keep the game fresh.
Really great game, the online mode is awesome and lots of fun.
Also has a great single player mode.
Arrived very timely. The game is super fun and addictive, and gives a different spin on the fps genre. It also has quite a family-friendly atmosphere and the community is, in general, very nice, though the “posting” feature in game, where you see other users drawings has a mix of questionable and enjoyable things. The coop mode is one of the best things about the game, and it is great working with teammates to defeat the mostly well-designed bosses. My biggest gripes about this game are: the multiplayer has no lobby for playing games with your friends. In a multiplayer game like this, I fail to see how they could leave out such an essential component, it really is awful. You can play with your friends, but it is difficult and you are often left waiting for someone to finish, and often get put on opposite teams. My second complaint is that there is means of communication. This is really a fault of the switch, but in a competitive fps you really need to talk to your team. Lastly, the weapons are not particularly well-balanced in multiplayer, so you only see a few of them. Overall, these issues slightly detract from the blindingly fun gameplay. I would give the game a rating of 3.7 stars, but feel it deserves 4 since I cannot give fractions.
Great game. If you liked the first, you’ll like this one. The added salmon run mode is a really enjoyable addition as well. Game came as expected, brand new in its wrapping.
Love the game, have poured a lot of time into it and the updates from Nintendo do keep it fresh.
Lots of fun to be had – finally a shooter that’s not overly serious
I dismissed Splatoon 2 out-of-hand initially. I’m not overly interested in first or third person shooter games, and certainly stay away from online matches in those types of games if I ever do pick one up (I much prefer a keyboard & mouse combo for that type of game). After reading and watching a few reviews though I decided to give it a go.
Man I’m impressed.
I like the fact it’s not a ‘traditional’ shooter where the aim is to rack up kills. Rather the overall goal is to colour the map with yoru team’s ink, using a variety of different weapons. It gives me the option to go off and ‘ink’ parts of the map if I’m outmatched at combat, rather than becoming frustrated cannon fodder for some 12 year old with nothing but time on their hands.
I’ve only just scratched the surface having got the game a few days back. I’ve played a bit of the single player mode (which is somewhat light and seems to be focused on introducing mechanics, weapons and gearing you up) and decided to jump straight into the online stuff which I’m finding fun. The basic online matches are pretty short and sweet (3 mins) and you’re grouped with a random set of people with varying levels in the game. Weapon & gear choices as well as the map you’re playing on seem to have a huge impact on how well you’re doing (maps change on a schedule, 2 selected for each 2 hour slot, the map you get is randomly selected from those).
All in all it’s shaping up to be a varied and exciting game that I’ve found myself dipping into for a few matches when I’ve got 10-15 mins to spare. That said, I’m only just scratching the surface of the game, there are various play modes I’ve not even attempted or seen yet.
If you loved the first Splatoon, then you will love this. Lost 1 star because the single player campaign doesn’t seem to be much improved over the first game, it is still just as short.
I have always sucked at, and hated, online shooters such as Call of Duty (and similar games). Was this because I am terrible at them? Quite possibly. Splatoon allows you to be awful at shooters, as the aim of the game is to cover as much of the ground in ink as you can. Does your aim leave much to be desired? You can just help your team by spreading ink, while leaving the splatting to other players.
Great game.
I played the first Splatoon on the Nintendo Wii U when it came out and I loved it! I thought that game had a lot to do but Splatoon 2 feels much more complete!
pros:
It’s colourful, fun and most importantly fresh!
There’s a lot more maps in the rotation to start with and there is even more to come.
There are more options to customise your Squid Kid.
The Single Player is a lot of fun and teaches you how to effectively play the game if you are new to inkopolis square!
There are new weapons, gear, maps to be added!
You can download the Switch app to see your stats, and order exclusive gear!
New game mode, food that helps you rank up faster!
Cons:
You have to use the switch app on your phone in order to communicate with friends. (but if you don’t really play with friends then this isn’t that big of a problem)
Can’t directly communicate with anyone without the phone app.
Still no playable octolings.
But overall still a great game!
Really superb game for the Switch. Too good in fact. I never get to use my Switch anymore as my 2 kids are always on it with this game.
If you liked the original, this will entertain you to no end.
As expected given that I loved the first splatoon. Areas to Improve Nintendo:
General match making
Let me change gear in the lobby
Fun game if you are a fan of the previous entry, with a more balance weapon/ability system so far (no domination for chargers anymore). Only issue is with connection once in a while, but not sure if it’s an issue with my network or not (although it disconnects at the most frustrating times). Overall a nice improvement to the series. 🙂
Not the best match matches are the worst level 1 vs level 34 impossible to wi
This game is ridiculously fun, with adorable music, fun graphics, and addictive gameplay, the only bad thing is there is no same screen multiplayer but even that is no big deal. If you own a switch buy this game.
This is just incredible multiplayer mayhem, and as with Nintendo the multiplayer is safe for kids.
Great game that builds upon the last, really what a sequel should be. Delivery was great too as usual.
So I am a first time Nintendo owner. I bought it for Skyrim on the go and of course Zelda but as with any new device you load up with a few big releases, I loved Mario kart, Liked Arms but Splatoon is just totally overboard fun. If you have a switch and like fun just buy this game, It truly is such a fresh take on the whole online shooter. Best part is I can let the kids play a online shooter style game. No local 2 player almost put me off as that is where the switch has excelled in our home but I am just so glad I picked this up. Fresh is more than just a term used in the game, it is a great description for the game its self
In my opinion, this game is brilliant. It’s a very unique concept and the graphics are incredible.
Some people seem to complain in other reviews that it’s barely different from the Wii U version which you may want to keep in mind when buying this if you already have a Wii U, although if you’re like me and don’t own a Wii U, this is an absolutely brilliant game to get for the switch.
The single player offline modes are challenging for first time players, and if you are up for more of a challenge, the multiplayer modes are very fun as you try to make your way up the rankings by winning matches.
An important thing to point out is that you are unable to play this game with more than one person on one console. You are able to play with people in the same room via LAN connection, but both people will need to have their own console and copy of the game.
Considering the switch is supposed to be a family console, good for multiplayer games, I’m surprised that a split screen local play mode isn’t available.
Still, I justify a five star rating based on the amazing quality of this game and it’s extremely entertaining gameplay that keeps you playing for hours!
Hello Friends
Super Fun Feel GoodGame!
In Splatoon 2 “You” play in a universe dominated by Japanese hipster “squid kids” dressed in fresh outfits n shoot paintball guns all the time. Paint Up, Paint Down, Heck!! Paint All Around Town!!! Paint Away ManBe Free!!! Express your self because in this town Graffiti Reigns Supreme!!
With this game you get: An 8 hour single-player campaign; a range of ranked and unranked multiplayer combat modes; and a brand new, “Horde” style mode in which you and up to three others team up to take out waves of enemies.
Splatoons 2 default multiplayer mode is ” Turf War” in which your team has 3 minutes to cover an arena’s floor with more of your paint color than your opponents and any ground covered in your teams color becomes “swimmable”. Each player can “switch” between a gun totting teenager or a fast swimming squid. Wherever your teams ink is splattered on the ground you can swim, refill your ink tank or hide to ambush the suckers…er your opponents.
This is a fun shooter game!! So c’mon friends get SP2
asap!! And I’ll be seein ya down in Squidsville; in one of the 8 arenas. So lets team up and give the “Team Cake” a good old fashioned whipping!!!
Be there or be square
This is a perfect update to the original game. Vastly improved graphics, new soundtrack, new stages, new gear and items, more customisation options and a better single player mode. Yet underpinning all of this is much of the same gameplay – which is certainly not a bad thing, considering how well Nintendo got it right first time round.
The big draw of Splatoon is that it takes what’s good about ‘shooters’ and puts it into a less violent set up. Strategy is key here, and the sense of achievement you get from essentially spraying ink everywhere is wonderful. You do not gain points for ‘splats’ (dissolving other players).
Online is still the main focus of gameplay, where you can choose between Turf Wars (inking more turf then the opposing team) and Ranked Battles (unique rules and features). Salmon Run, which is a more scarce tournament, offers something a little different in that every player is essentially up against the CPU as a team, but this is far more challenging.
As with other Switch games, it’s not until you play the game in handheld mode that you can truly appreciate the potential of playing the Splatoon on the go. It looks gorgeous, and the gyro controls work flawlessly. Just watch the battery, however…
Original Splatoon owners may find this entry to be more expected than surprising, however if you’re new to the franchise, then I can only imagine the sense of excitement that will come from it.
