Excellent product but 3G sim lags when indoors receiving payments. Other then that everything else with the product is good. I think 1.69% per purchase is little too much for our charity organisation.
Does the job. As a roving trader it always manages to get a signal. Downside is the white colour. And the shape when passing to the customer is not handleable friendly.
My club wanted a card reader for use in the bar. It is easy to set up and use, prints receipts and reports are easily accessible on the internet. No problems so far after 3 weeks.
Bought this for my business, As long as you receive 3G signal your good to take payments anywhere, I’ve just started using it and it’s not let me down yet, One thing I will add for everyone’s information, In the instructions it tells you to charge the unit through the base, But as I learned there is also a little charging port on the head unit to, This means your unit will last much longer remotely without needing charged, very pleased with this purchase and with only 2% on sales and no annual costs it works well for my business.

A life changer.
This was bought to be used by a local charity. Sadly many people don’t carry cash these days, so in order to get the best out of a street collection, payment by card is proving necessary. The machine was really easy to set up and was put to good use within a couple of days.
This card reader is very easy to set up and does not need an additional phone. You can review all sales and either print receipts or send a mail the receipt. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

I’ve had my card reader 6 weeks and it’s been fine up to last week. I noticed the back of the card reader was swollen and wouldn’t sit in the printer. As it was over the return date I had to contact sumup. I contacted them last week and was told someone would contact me. Today I noticed the back of the reader had a crack in it.
I’m just a bit concerned if this is a fire risk or the battery might leak. I’ve contacted them again today and I just feel like I’m being fobbed off.
Does what it says on the box, set up and registered in apx 10 mins.
My only gripe would be, that in my case my product looks like it has been a return, there was no protective cover on the screen. A receipt roll has been put in the machine and has a rough ripped edge. And the box had clearly been opened prior to delivery.

I was dreading setting this up but to my surprise it was so easy to do, the instructions were easy to follow, it gives the options of printing receipts/emailing and texting them. Chip & Pin or tap. A very nice design, we are thoroughly excited to use it.
Good value as you don’t pay rental and what your get charged on transaction is cheaper to. I found it easy to set up a business account.

Very easy to setup and start taking payments. Battery life is very good although most of the time you’ll have it docked anyway for receipt printing anyway. Good value for money. I upgraded from the sum up air and this is a massive upgrade as this version has a more functional user interface and prints receipts instantly if you choose to do so. Would definitely recommend
It came quickly. It us some to use and gives your customers a receipt. There charges are very reasonable too.

I think this is an extraordinary device. I found it easy to set up (contrary to some reviews I have read). Simply make sure you have set up an account first. I have tested it on WiFi, 3G and also through my iPhone, running it as a HotSpot. The reports are also well thought out. Yes, I am amazed as others have clearly had problems…..
Hoping the card reader will help us to collect lots of donations to our village charity especially when the Covid restrictions allow us to hold fund raising events agai
Easy to use and brilliant tgat you don’t need to be in a wifi area as it uses 3G
Neat design, machine is easy to set up & use. Doesn’t give an end of day report so you have to login to the dashboard to view sales. Not great in low reception areas (even with a Wi-Fi connection) can freeze. Will preserve as good for the price & market!

I find this device very easy to use, the setup was easy, I would suggest making sure you create an account before the item arrives once that’s done the rest is easy as 1,2,3, also I would strongly recommend you setup using the built in 3G as that make it much easier, as for the battery life I still need time to fully test it so I will give it 3 stars.

I use as a cabbie but the please wait logo takes so long and then to print you have to place back onto printer before approved before printing. Would be ideal in a shop as one unit. If sumup did a Bluetooth printer at a decent price I would buy it as I also have the sumup air which is lightning fast and all controlled by app

This is ideal for using where your not using on a daily basis as it’s 1.69% on every transaction so it’s ok for no contract, ideal for markets and stalls . No commitment to a contract so that’s good

However, just keep in mind that the service provider is not tip top. They are hard to get a hold of and when you do you’re going up against the script. On occasion the servers go down and this can leave you high and dry (be it for 10 minutes or 2 hours). For this I actually have a spare cheap device with another company so I can take card payments when this happens.
For me it’s a double edged sword. I love the device enough to put up with the service……and hope that the device keeps up enough that I don’t even need the service!!! It’s a simple trade off and having a back up keeps the piece of mind.

This unit worked perfectly at a craft fair where I couldn’t get a signal on my phone and enabled me to take card payments all weekend. If I’d been relying on my phone for a signal I would have lost several sales.

It was easy to set up the reader and I would recommend reading through the comprehensive and straightforward set up and user guidance before starting. It’s a little slow to use in areas where having to rely on cellular network but all transactions so far have been successful. I’m impressed by the type and level of reports you can utilise from the dashboard and the payout reports from SumUp are clear. I would hiighly recommend for any small business or club.

I purchased a SumUp 3G it’s is easy to use, perfect for sales etc, at the time I was able to purchase for a reduced price, now I want the docking printer, can’t find it anywhere as a stand alone product, if I had that it would be PERFECT!
Little bit of reading to be done but can just set up and use straight away. Used straight away at a show with no wifi and no access to plug it in and it worked for me all day with no problems. Occasionally took a bit of time to get ready for payment but only once over a 3 day show was it longer than 45s

The product works anywhere and is not tied to a smartphone like some others. It is very easy to set up and use, and processes transactions quickly. The downloadable reports are very comprehensive too.

I was amazed how quickly the signup and setup of this cardreader was. Less than ten minutes and I had made three test payments using WiFi and their free Phone network. All reciepts were issued and very well printed. Chagring took very little time and the packaging is the best I have seen in many years. !00% happy and very highly recomended to anyone with small business neads.

Whilst search on the internet for advice, there was lots of talk of using a smart phone app, which would have complicated things as far as we were concerned, and it turned out to be completely unnecessary.
Here’s our guide to getting started: Go to the SumUp web page, and click ‘Get started now’ and assuming like us you already have your card reader, on the “SumUp Products – Order yours now” page press the “I already have a reader” link and it will then take you to the area where you enter your personal and bank details – and that’s all there is to it. In 10 minutes we were accepting card payments.

The 1.69% charge is okay, I know sumup have to make money. For example a customer paid 250.00 and after the fee was taken we were left with 245.77. Now over time these losses will mount up. But we can live with that. But be aware of this. For smaller transactions this will be likely a few pence.
The battery life is okay with the printer attached but could maybe better.
The keypad is good better than some of the competitors. But we sometime use the machine in the evening and it could be illuminated a bit better there is a blue light behind the buttons but is very dim.
The 3g and WiFi connectivity is brilliant! No more faffing with the app. We liked the app but the fact we can punch in an amount and press enter is perfect.
The receipts that get printed are okay. Would be nice to be able to have our logo on it but I can’t complain too much after all its a receipt.
Overall despite everything we’d buy it again.

Virtually fool proof and great to use on the go at Craft fairs
When the device arrived (a bit earlier than what was shown in the original tracking), we immediately charged the battery fully and it was up and running within a few minutes without any major hiccups. I used it for a couple of days without the need to charge the battery which seemed really good battery life.
It has the ability to print, SMS or email the receipt (or no receipt) which is handy and it comes with 2 paper rolls to get you started immediately.
I like the fact that it takes the processing charge from the money taken, before depositing the rest in your bank account, so no more one whole months bill of card transaction charges to pay.
The fact that you can have the money in your bank the next day for free (after transaction cost) or you can pay 1% to have it transferred almost immediately is useful.
The fees are 1.69% transaction cost for in person payments which is actually not too bad for the extra features of the apps and next day deposit. Overall, I think it’s a very good machine and I like the simplicity of the SumUp payments system so far.
This is very easy to setup include printer paper as well. You have to subscribe to the service to be able to use it. The 3G sim is built in or you can use WiFi to accept payment. I have explored the charge per pound for transactions, it is 1.69% service charge which rounded up to 2p per pound. I can now receive contactless payment which makes my life a lot easier and more hygiene. The connection speed is ok but it actually depends on the reception in the area you use it. I now can accept card, Apple Pay and google pay. I would recommend.
