I absolutely love this microwave. I was a bit dubious having read some of the negative reviews but I decided to go ahead and purchase anyway. I’m really glad I did. It works perfectly and it’s easy to use plus it looks very aesthetically pleasing. It stands out from your bog standard microwave and the purple colour with silver detailing looks great. I have to say I haven’t experienced any of the negative points other people have mentioned like rusting but I always ensure that my microwave is well vented after every use and that I wipe out any moisture straightaway to prevent any build up. Perhaps that’s where others are going wrong. If you look after yours from the beginning you’ll be absolutely fine and you’ll have yourself an amazing little microwave.
A great mid range microwave, great functional design with digital display. Just turn the know to desired function and turn second k on gor time desired press start. Simple
Has loads of preset options too for automatic timings for even simpler cooking/defrosting
I love the colour of this and its exactly like my old one to use so no problems there .
The only downside is I use it to steam veg and so far u can only get it on quick cook for 10 mins and my veg takes 15

I’ve been trying to find a yellow microwave for Years! Hurrah, finally one to match my kitchen. Not got as much internal height as my previous microwave but strangely it is wider inside, which is marvellously useful for my large dinner plates which I had to set at an angle in my last model.

Had one of these before, but it started to rust around the base where the turntable rotates. Looks nice then combined with other retro items such as fridge etc. It is just a microwave, so some might suggest you are paying extra just for the retro look.
Could not find this in stock except Amazon. Looked at the listings for other ways to buy, this was reduced as it said it had a minor defect in the paint. When it arrived I checked it over and could not see the defect. Happy with the purchase especially paying less.
I mostly only use a microwave to heat up and this sets my kitchen off a treat along with it’s other matching kitchen accessories. Easy to use knobs (as opposed to digital settings). I can’t review any cooking as such because I don’t use it to cook in but I would imagine if you did it would perform well.
I love my swan microwave which I finally purchased from Swan directly after a chapter of mishaps and trouble as a result of the delivery company. Five days late and after several phone calls the parcel arrived damaged as was my microwave

Love the colour and love retro for my kitchen, it goes with everything. It’s a bit smaller than my other one which is nice because I’ve only got a small kitchen. However my square dinner plates won’t turn but I have round ones and they’re perfect. Yes lovely microwave and very simple to use, all the settings are displayed on the front. Highly recommend.

I love my new Swan microwave. I chose orange because it goes really well with black. It was so simple to use and easy to clean. Please if you’re looking for a great buy this is perfect so snazzy. Did I mention how much I love it? Great price too.
Good product for the price. Has a good retro look. Does what it says but doesn’t have many features (often not used). Not the sturdiest but I bought for look and ease of use, so suits my needs.
Bought this to match my other swan kitchen items. Nice and shiny and clean looking.
It looks lovely and very striking with the polished door and chrome handle and dials. Nice that it has a digital display, although the display is blue and it seems to blur a little. It’s not just me, my hubby and a friend also noticed it blurs when you’re about 2 metres away.
The biggest down side is that it’s a little small.
Microwaveable pouches only just fit in and touch the top on the inside. But they do fit, so that’s good!
Plus my large plates do not fit and they stop the turn table glass from spinning. So I use my small plates instead!
It looks really nice.
Plus the feature I do like is that once the timer has finished amid it beeps, it also does a reminder beep until you open the door.
I’m forever warming up coffee and forgetting it’s in the microwave, so I love that aspect.

We are pleased with this item, it is a nice colour and easy to use. We could see through the door of our old Swan microwave to see when the milk boiled in the cup. We cannot do this with our new one, it is very hard to see but not really a problem as we put the milk in a jug now so that it does not boil over. I am sure we will get to love the new Swan microwave as much as we did our previous one.

The main point is that it’s incredibly easy to use. There are so many options clearly displayed around the dials that it is hard to make a mistake. And it looks so retro although it’s digital. Old and modern all in one machine.
The food comes out well cooked as well.

This is microwave is great value for the money. If you’re looking for a basic oven with easy controls, this is the one for you. Love it!
Really nice little microwave. I would advise though, that if you have it on a counter top its quite light and the door catch is strong. So I would make sure it’s either on something non slip, or you make sure you place one hand on top of the microwave before opening the door. As microwave will move.
Love the colour was able to colour coordinate with my other appliances. The blue time light is always on a little annoying because it’s at 000 all the time, would like it to be the actual time / clock instead of stopwatch / timer.
I was looking for a specific colour for the microwave and this one did the trick. Very beautiful pale blue vintage design that matches my new kitchen. I am a big fan of this company as they produce very innovative and good looking products at an amazing price. I recommend this 100%, no issue whatsoever at the moment.

I wanted and love this microwave but the bulb popped on day one so very unhappy. I cannot return as it I will be left without one. I wished I had purchased from a SHOP it is much easier to return. I will use it until it stops and then replace but apart from that superb design and very easy to use.

Great product – we buy Swan products all the time as they are made in UK and love the retro design. They are a little bit more expensive than other brands but they are very well made and look great in the kitchen, we’d prefer to pay slightly more to get something better and more stylish than other brands on the market. The colour is great too and fits in well with the decor. We had trouble choosing the colour as there were so many lovely shades but chose pastel Blue which fits in perfectly. Very easy to use – didn’t need to refer to the instruction manual but the manual is also very clear too if you do need it.
The item arrived very quickly and exactly as described! The colour is perfect for a country-style kitchen and fits neatly into the corner 🙂 We’ve been using it for a few months now and had no issues with it whatsoever. It heats well, defrosts well and considering we have 2 young children, use it on a reasonably regular basis for baked potatoes, soup etc The inside is a bit smaller than we are used to but that’s probably because it’s retro…and plates are bigger than they used to be but overall functions well! Very stylish retro microwave , not to big or bulky , fits perfect in a corner of my kitchen the grey one is just what I was looking for , would give it a 10 out of 10 … highly recommend.
Love the colour of this microwave and the way it looks. However ot is very small Inside lower than a “normal” microwave and the door gets steamed up when cooking and drips from the bottom left corner onto worktop. Little disappointed as its an established swan brand !
Great looking microwave and very easy to use. My only quibble would be how small it is internally – although not especially small volume wise it doesn’t fit my plates and you can’t stand a packet of rice up in it.
We bought this in a sale for 60ish, and for that price we are very happy with our purchase. It looks stylish and works perfectly with our kitchen.
Assembly was simply, amazing pug and play really, and with a quick wipe down, you are good to go.
Appreciating its only a 800w microwave, I have to say I notice this when using, always have to put in for a little longer that recommended cooking instruction so would say it’s not that powerful.
It works for us, we have patience, and for the money, we are extremely happy with our purchase at this price. I wouldn’t recommend if was priced much higher because you can get a 1,000w for not much more.

Bought to replace same model i previously had in black (it went a bit rusty inside after a few years use but I was very happy with it). I just find the dials so uncomplicated compared to digital ones where you’re supposed to memorise how many times to press a button to get the required feature!! Also love the retro style.
I bought this as i’ve seen it and loved it, the only problem is that if you don’t use lid to cover your liquid food, in the long run this will ruin the painting inside the cooking chamber by chipping it. Real pity i had to dump it.
Brought mainly for the look which is as expected and a nice retro design which suits our kitchen well. A little smaller than I expected but is to the measurements advertised so my fault for not checking that exactly before I bought it. Nice features that work well and does what a microwave should with numerous settings.
So far just cooked sum jackets in it+warmed up a few bits, but it’s pretty idiot proof+Seems powerful for the job in hand. And the fact also get a two year guarantee If register it online, giving an extra year, is even better..!:-] All In all am chuffed with my purchase.
I wanted to purchase a simple cheap good looking microwave to replace a rather ageing microwave that I bought second hand 10 years ago. Additionally I wanted something that was attractive and would fit in well with my kitchen and I have to say this Swan retro oven ticks all the boxes. It’s very easy to use, does what I require which is very basic sort of cooking/defrosting/reheating. Would highly recommend this oven as a good looking value for money microwave.
I absolutely love the colour and the whole cute round edged retro design of this microwave. It fits in well with my brightly coloured mis-matched appliances. I was put off by the 1 star reviews which said it rusts but I have had this microwave for 6 months now and there’s no sign of rust at all. I use it a lot but I do wipe it down and leave the door open to vent after use to prevent condensation.
I have a small kitchen so needed a small microwave which this is – it fits a 25cm (10″) plate no problem but if using a 28cm (11″) plate, they will fit but you have to tilt it slightly to get through the narrower front (see photos).
There’s no 30 second quick press button but you don’t need one as you just turn the dial for the required length of time then press start – so easy to use. It does have lots of features but I haven’t needed to use them. I don’t find food cooks well if I use High (which is supposed to be for quick cooking) so I normally just use M. High (normal cooking) which works fine.

The microwave is very simple to use 2 knobs and two buttons ,it looks very smart and classic and works very well , it is a little noisy but no worse than others
All in all this is a smart item i just hope it lasts longer than the warranty period .
Lovely retro looking microwave. Liked it because it was a little bit different from the usual microwaves. Do be warned that the door is plastic not metal and easily scratches so you need to take care when cleaning. Only use none abrasive cleaning equipment. I wouldn’t let this put you off purchasing. Easy to use no fiddly digital panel just a couple of turns and start. Easy to clean as no grill. Only given 4 stars as the plastic door was a surprise to me but I still like it.
Love the microwave and I did want the full range ie orange kettle toaster, looked on amazon for them but none here, so went on Swan website and they are out of stock with no due back in stock date, which means I’ll have to find an other make of the Orange kettle and toaster, I am very unhappy with this as it will be hard to get a colour match.
Update I held of getting a different make of toaster and kettle and managed to order it from amazon some good months later so now very happy my toaster arrived 5 days early, still waiting on the kettle, the only downside at the moment is I can’t find anymore Swan orange kitchen equipment like the bin, bread bin, tea sugar and coffee containers again very disappointed with Swan, updated 5th November 2020 please stay clear of all Swan products I purchased the kettle, microwave and toaster, the toaster blew my electric 2 weeks in use managed to get a full refund, the kettle the lid is rusting away and it’s not even a year old, my microwave blew the electrics I purchased the microwave in 2019 and I only use it occasionally I’ve replaced the fuse and it’s no longer working, I’m very disappointed with swan, back in my childhood my mother only bought Swan and I honestly thought Swan was a name to be trusted, how wrong am I, they are rubbish, now I have to purchase a new kettle, microwave and toaster, I’m not happy that I now have to replace these in such a short time period, I have very little money and I struggle to purchase these swan items

In use nearly everyday, but the base has become worn and is now starting to show signs of wear. Would have expected better quality from a named brand.

There is a mark on the inside of the glass that I’m unable to remove, but didn’t contact Amazon as I couldn’t be bothered to wrap it all back up to send it back.
I only use it to heat my porridge currently and it does the job perfectly.
We are pleased with the styling of this microwave. It is a simple microwave, but really like the method of time setting by just spinning the dial. Love the reminder beep that lets you know that you have left something in the microwave after heating. I find it especially useful when I have warmed up a drink as it is easy to forget about when you are busy.
Great looking. Easy to use. Very happy with this microwave. I have gone for the light green colour as I like to be different! I like the tip in the instructions, to wipe out the condensation after use (or I sometimes leave door open for a short while to dry out), as apparently this lengthens the life of the microwave. I can see this makes sense as my previous m.waves have all gone rusty with paint flaking off inside after quite short time spans. I have never read this tip before in other leaflets. Very useful and grateful.
When we got a new kitchen I wanted a green microwave to match the new decor. My choice was limited so I ordered this one (though would have preferred 900w).
On opening the box I was pleased with the design, but thought it looked too small. Our previous microwave was an oven/grill too, so it was quite a bit larger, and I was worried it wouldn’t fit our needs (family of 4 with two hungry boys!)
I had it all packed up to send back, then thought at the last minute that I’d try it out. I’m glad I did because it’s actually just right. It fits a dinner plate and one of my large baking bowls (just) which is all I need really.
It looks really smart with the rest of my green appliances and is easy to use and clean.
It’s a good microwave that looks stylish. Just might be a watchout that if you slightly pull the door (but not fully open it) the microwave switches on by itself (included video).
Otherwise it’s quiet and will beep every so often if you haven’t opened the door after switching it on which is handy.
Of all the Swan retro range this is my favourite. It heats food and liquids well, care must be taken on removal from the microwave as they become quite hot. Liquids and indeed most foods are best heated in a glass bowl or handled jug, to avert a swimming pool of molten liquid forming inside the unit. I don’t understand how this could be retro as I don’t think they had microwaves in the 1940’s-50’s? Did micro waves even exist before they were invented – discuss.
Loved the retro look which was why i ordered it. But was very disappointed when i switched it on to see the digital display was blue neon . Not shown like this in the picture. Totally ruined the retro look for me , why make something in retro style and do that ???
Delivery came a day earlier than requested, luckily we were in.
We haven’t used the microwave yet as our kitchen is being finished. I can say however, that it is a colour match to the description given and that it actually looks even nicer than online. Very smart looking and exactly what we want for our retro/scandi inspired kitchen.
**UPDATE** We’ve been using the microwave for some time now, and it’s absolutely brilliant! Very easy to use, still looks smart, and I’m so glad we bought it. Very highly recommended!
I have two concerns though, 1, when in use, the outside casing gets hot. I’m not too sure how this will effect the longevity as, other microwaves I have had (as far as I can recall) didn’t get hot to touch and 2, with it being compact, you can’t fit a normal sized dinner plate in and, when opening the door, the microwave moves as it is lighter than standard microwave ovens.

I leave the rotary power selector at 100%, turn the timing wheel to the time I need and press go – barring telepathy, I think that’s as efficient as you are going to get. Having said that, you are probably choosing it because of how it looks which is a taste thing and dependent on the colour of the other kit in your kitchen (I’m told that’s important?)

This was the second microwave I had. The first was replaced because the light failed and they had sent it without a turntable. Two years on I had just noticed that the paint is peeling off the base of the machine. There is nothing I can do because it is out of guarantee. Surely a microwave should last more than two years.
Very stylish looking microwave. Simple to use and roomier than you would think, it certainly takes my full size dinner plates and the large size of pyrex bowl. So far I havn’t found anything that I have wanted to put in there that hasn’t fit! Works really well, it’s far better at defrosting than my old microwave. The only mildly irritating thing is that when it’s finished whatever it’s doing it will give three loud beeps but then repeat said loud beeps every three minutes until you go and open the door. It’s good in that you wont forget anything but I often put something in to defrost and then leave it whilst I go and do something else – the beeps then get quite annoying. You feel like your being ruled by your microwave!! A small point really but it could really annoy some!
I spent ages choosing this microwave as my last one lasted 11 years and it didn’t give me a day’s problem. I couldn’t find the same make and wanted a retro style, so I finally opted for this one. As soon as it was out of the box I was really happy with my choice. It’s a beautiful looking piece of equipment! Really compact and stylish. The cream colour is really rich and it looks fabulous in my kitchen. I made a big jacket potato today and it came out perfectly done and piping hot in 10 minutes. No hassle. Here’s hoping it lasts as well as the last one. As usual with Amazon it arrived quickly and well packed. No complaints!
I bought is for my mother who needed something simple. It can seem to be complex as it does offer a number of options. However, put the top dial on full power (high) and turn the bottom knob ANTI Clockwise and it dials down to thhe required to the required time….Simples! The other option is set it to Speed cooking and pressing the lower button increases cooking time in 30 second blocks. It seems reasonably well made and carries a 2 yr warranty. I’m happy. 4 stars rather than 5 simply because it seems a little expensive.
I love the colour and size of this small retro blue microwave. It fits perfectly in to my flat giving me more surface space after my last combination giant. Easy and quick to use with just a turn dial to increase the seconds timer, a nice bright internal light and clock function. Ideal for someone who eats microwave meals and space is an issue. Measure your plates before purchasing if you want to put them in as it might be squeeze, I haven’t tried them. My only negative comment would be the handle is bit plasticky, I would prefer a sturdy metal one but overall I love this item and wouldn’t change it.
I purchased this product at Christmas 2014 – I love the style of it and the colour – it fits well into my kitchen – the design is compact and stylish, however I do find that the controls are a little complicated to figure out and tend to just “do my own thing” if I’m honest. Also another little niggle is that when you use it I find that it tends to fill with fluid at the bottom – ie the steam doesn’t seem to escape properly – so you end up with a puddle in the turntable well every time you use it – but this is a minor problem as over all it is a good efficient microwave and well priced. Also I have dexterity problem (I have arthritis) and I find the pull handle really easy to use and the knobs are very easy to use much easier than a push button control.
All in all – despite the niggles – I would highly recommend this Microwave to anyone.
Love the look of this microwave it suits the kitchen well and matches my kettle and toaster. Works well and very easy to use. My only gripe is that my rice pot doesn’t fit in with the lid on properly I have to put the pot in without the lid and put the lid on once inside. Mind you it does state its size but I’m just not very familiar with microwave sizes! Just bear this in mind when purchasing.
Lovely rich colour, and fantastic retro styling make it a pleasure to use. There is a really bright digital display clock, very clear.
The manual is minimal, but I don’t want to do fancy stuff in my microwave, I just really want to heat stuff up or cook veggies, and I can do this very easily, by keeping the top knob on at 100%, then just whacking the time dial and pressing the little Start button.
I have just bought it, so no idea how it will stand up to everyday wear and tear. I will try to update you in a couple of months to let you know how it’s going. However, so far, for the price, I am ridiculously pleased with this purchase.
Update July 2015 I am still loving this microwave oven, it is really easy to clean and has kept its good looks. I have even mastered the defrost function now, but still using it mainly for heating up things!
As I say, neither of these minor reservations are exactly show-stoppers, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the machine to anyone looking for something smart, efficient and a little bit different.
