This really is just a 10 inch screen mobile phone. Nothing exciting about it, one or two misconceptions from the manufacturers raves so don’t get excited. Personally, I’m happy, but then I’m just an ageing old man wanting something I can see and responds quickly to my screen touches. Good luck!
Hi again, here I am two months later and with a more considered review. I work it quite hard daily, almost draining the battery entirely. I have to say I’m now impressed with the performance, speed and screen clarity. The sound is not very good at all (tinny) but for people with hearing problems this is alaways an asset as speech and music clarity is just how we want it! Other reviews mention the battery and the charging time. Yes, it was quick to drain and slow to charge at the onset, but that’s lithium batteries for you. After about 20 charges from nearly empty the battery now lasts a lot longer and recharges in an acceptable time on par with most others so that in my mind is no longer an issue. It just needed to ‘bed in’. Tip…. charge lithium batteries in a horizontal position, not vertical. (They charge a lot quicker. Battery life doesn’t vary according to the position of the unit when using.) Hope you’ve found this useful.
Generally like most things about this tablet. Good spec for the price. Only negative I’ve found is that sometimes charging can can cut out when watching video and will only reconnect when the supply is interrupted (tried several different leads).
I bought this for my nephew who is in Kenya where a tablet with a sim is necessary. He loves it.
I wanted to buy a tablet to replace my aging Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 which still worked but was stuck on Android 5.0. I was considering buying another Samsung but there was no mid price model with a decent sised screen and a similar spec to this one. I also considered a basic iPad but I prefer android tablets as I have an android mobile phone and there is a bigger range of apps available for them. I was particularly attracted by the fact that this Telcast model could take a sim card, allowing it to be used without a WiFi connection or even make phone calls.
I have been using the tablet for over a week now and so far I am pleased with my purchase. The screen is very clear with a decent resolution. It boots up very quickly and the touch screen responds well. It feels well made with a very thin metal body. I also purchased the Teclast case for it which make it much more comfortable to hold.
Recently I bought the TECLAST P85 Android 11 Tablet. Its 2 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM and A133 Quad-core processor are giving good performance to the Tablet. It is equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi fetchers to connect with other devices. Its 4000 Mah battery is giving long-lasting charging to my tablet and it is sufficient for my daily routine work. Its 8-inch-high-definition screen gives good resolution videos and it is very easy to watch videos with good experience. It got updated with a Type-C charger with a quick charging feature. The sound effects of the tablet are very effective and its built-in independent speakers are rocking and we can feel the music. It also has an expandable memory of up to 512 GB. Its camera quality is good and it is very good to talk with my old parents who are far from me. It is very helpful for me to feed my baby by playing rhymes during her feeding time. It is a very worthy and good product.
This is a really good tablet, it has everything you need in a tablet with plenty of space to download games etc. I have deducted a star as the screen is quite plastic and scratches easily and is hard to clean!!
I have had this now for a week, let me just say don’t let the price fool you. This has all the feel and appearance of a much higher spec tablet and over the years I have had a few. Apart from the performance what I also like is the lack of bloatware, so what you have onboard is what you load up. It is running Android 11, smooth, powerful and seamless. I was looking to upgrade to a 10″ screen and was expecting to pay substantially more and would have done if I had stuck with my previous, leading, brand but up popped this when I interrogated Amazon, I don’t need the fastest thing on the blocks, I am not gaming but am using it for many hours a day, reports, manuscripts, music scores etc. and this ticks all the boxes I was seeking and at under 200 it was a no-brainer. Clearly some corners may have been cut but not in the areas that I need, so yes I am delighted and am happy to recommend.
Excellent tablet, value for money, works well does all I ask of it, screen size good and quality images, battery life normal, touch screen good. One thing it does not like updating apps, IE cannot get the latest Google Chrome to install, maybe me, but minor problems for a great little machine.
The touch is sensitive and screen quality. Working perfectly and haven’t had any issues so far real value for money.
I baught this as a gift for my mother and she loves it , it’s fast , good sound, quality picture , and give you the option to transfer your data off your old tablet which is so convie
A great tablet good screen, a lot of technology for your money.
Haven’t had this long, but so far I like it, its fast and have plenty of space, I’ve not used it on 4G so I can’t rate that. I am using it for reading magazines and books currently, but do intend to add to this.
A lot better than my previous tablet with plenty of space
This has to be one of the speediest tablets I’ve ever had.
Neat, compact, great screen precovered which IS a job I hate.
The only downside is I didn’t buy this year’s ago.
I watch my favourite apps on it e.g. Netflix, prime etc I’ve not used it for games, but I know I can.
Can’t wait to add my sim card on my next train journey and use it as a phone.
If in doubt, just buy it … you won’t regret it.
From a VERY Happy use
I have no faults with this tablet, and to be honest better than the well known brands of android tablets on the market.
Quick to boot, and runs smoothly.
As yet,I do love everything about the tablet, but battery life does not seem too good to me.
Firstly let me say what a fantastic company Teclast is.
After having my device for 13 days I had a small mishap through my own clumsiness that led to a total failure.
I approached Teclast to see if they could possibley help in the matter and a very nice aftersales person asked me to send the device back.
To my surprise 5days later they sent me a brand new tablet.
I can honestly say that if that had been a big name like Samsung, they wouldn’t even reply
Excellent tablet
Excellent aftersales
Huge memory
You can’t go wrong
5 stars
Screen quality excellent battery life really good no problems with the touch scree
I was apprehensive about buying a new brand but can now declare after 6 months that I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. The name TecLast seems to suggest tec that lasts and it is panning out that way for me! I use my tablet every night in bed before sleep and it never let’s me down. Image is great, the sound connects instantly via Bluetooth to my Alexa and the experience is perfect. I do recommend this product.
Solid quality design, very decent specifcation in terms of screen resolution and memory both RAM and internal/external storage via TF card plus the option of a phone sim.
Easy setup which paired the M40 with my P30 pro and installed all the apps including email and all social media. Of the 127 apps on my phone 126 were migrated.
Boot time is fast and individual screen setup is easy if you are familiar with Andoid based phones. All mojor codecs supported and the usb C can be used to charge and as a phone input. I prefer wired headphones as I have some excellent sets but I also paired my wireless beats which sound great.
Very good value if you want access to streaming on the go.
This better than any I’ve had before. I love the storage and ram speed. Battery life could be better but it does keep me quiet of an evening and then I recharge during the night.
Edit: for Teclast if you read these; I have inserted a data sim but the tablet does not seem to recognise it, and now I cannot remove it. The supplier if the sim suggests the APN needs updating; I cannot find anything on the tablet about an APN. Please help, as I want to use the tablet and data sim on holiday (soon).
Otherwise, I still love the tablet.
Screen resolution not great, but the most important thing is using my phone data through the tablet when WiFi is unavailable. 150 bargain.
Got this to replace my phone i ended up getting a new phone. It is heavy when trying to play games and it keeps crashing
Love this so easy to set up and use. Important for me as at 67 and not much experience was proud to do it on my own. Fast reaction to the touch.clear picture of screen. Easy to carry around. Love the fact that it is also a mobile phone if you put a sim in. Not done that yet, trying to decide what network to use.
After 3 years of daily abuse, the touch on my Hi9 failed. Far too expensive to buy a new screen and the version of Android was getting very old, otherwise no complaints.
This one is noticeably faster with a better screen (the Chuwi was itself very good). The camera is also better and useable. Sound is OK but lowest is too loud – my only gripe with this tablet. Boot time is quick and I’ve noticed no lags Youtubing, ebay, Chrome etc.
I don’t use Netflix on here, so the DRM level L3 does not bother me. Wireless reception is far better. Casting and connectivity is more modern and there less of a bugfest when connecting (Bluetooth in particular).
The case for this is good, but not cheap and there do not appear to be many alternatives.
Hi9 tablet went on holiday, got dropped regularly (any tablet is liable to that) and laid-on in bed… This one feels sturdier.
The TECLAST 10.4″ Tablet looks great. The casing quality is very high and the tablet looks like a premium device. The specification is good with 8GB RAM, 128GB of Storage, 2.0GHz Octa-Core Processor, 5G WiFi, front and back cameras and a large battery for great battery life. All in a great spec and for the price, pretty good value for money in my opinion.
Device starts up quickly, doesn’t take long to setup and once setup runs smoothly. The touch screen is very responsive and the resoltuion and colours are fantastic. The memory is only 128GB, which is more than enough for my needs but if you need more, it can be quickly expanded with a TransFlash card.
The tablet takes Dual Sim Cards which is great if you travel a lot or need business and personal use on one device and the battery life seems to last a long time.
Overall a great device, fairly priced and good value for money.
I love this so much, it is easy to use and I am not sure about the life of the battery just yet because I haven’t used it properly. Though I feel it is going to be great. Thank you.
Had it for a while and use it to read scripts and to use with teleprompter.
Good pad for Internet use via WiFi too.
It is the sbest present I have got to my boyfriend. He is very happy with this tablet as it is very perfkrming and the battery lasts for ever. he is using it at work with cars softwares or casting video discovering everyday more the reliablity of the processor and the speed of the operating system.
The HD screen is clear and colourful like not many tablet seen the cost against performances and both the cameras have a very good and clear reaolution for your videocal or pics. I’d suggest to buy a protective case for any sudden damages even though the body feels very consistent and quality material used. Not the isual plastic ones.
Perfect buy
I read the odd negative review and ‘user error’ was my first thought on all those few negative reviews. I was 100% right. This tablet just about blows everything else out of the water. Extremely well built, with a very good screen that is perfectly touch sensitive even with BOTH screen protectors still in place. It is fast, very fast, free of bloatware and has more than enough storage space. Why on earth anyone would even consider paying ridiculous prices for overrated, aggressively marketed bling tablets beats me. Processor speed is very good, battery life is excellent, sound quality adequate but as with all such devices will benefit from external speakers. Volume is more than adequate. It has that solid feel of quality about it that you just cannot mistake. Setting up was so fast it absolutely amazed me. So, easy and quick to do. I bought two of these fully expecting them to not quite live up to their specification but I was blown over by their performance. It WILL slow down a bit as it gets bloated but there is so much wiggle room it isn’t going to happen soon. On the small amount of time I have spent on them the battery lives up to the spec but time will tell. I can heartily recommend this tablet without reservation. I bought two for my two youngest grandchildren and one for myself. Guess whose is faulty. It crashes on regular basis and often won’t boot for a while after coming off charge. Sometimes it simply won’t boot unless you plug it into the charger despite being charged. I have read that quite a few owners have had exactly the same faults and returned them, as am I but I’m hoping to get a fully functional one as when they are, they are superb.
I’ve had the tablet for a few weeks now and very pleased with my purchase. I brought it to use at our Ukulele meetings. to download and and view music sheets, playback practice audio and video and take the occasional photo /video. I had the chance to compare it with the model below and in my opinion the camera spec and results from the M40 is well worth the extra money especially if it you intend to use it for Zoom meetings, plus you also get double the internal memory and better spec.. I have already recommended it to other members in the group and work colleague’s. Hope this review is helpful..well done Teclas
No issues. It just does it all. My son uses his for Roblox and Minecraft mostly but also for reading and YouTube, googling for homework etc. I steal it occasionally to play Papa Pear – accuracy and speed is good.
Very happy with purchase, the tablet is well made and as its an android very easy to use. The tailor made case I ordered with it fits well and the screen protector part is very sturdy.
Went for this brand because it was far cheaper than the named one and does everything the named on can at a fraction of the cost.
Well worth the price as it is no doubt pound for pound the equal of the named table
This is no iPad and should not be compared to one. This is a basic tablet that can do almost anything an iPad can do but a lot slower, lighter and with a less durable device. That is reflected in the price. If you need a tablet on the cheap and have hand that is no made from butter, Telecast is the one you need.
As every tablet just fine. Little heavy but why pay extra for a big brand. Screen and performance grea
While there are definitely better quality screens out there, on the “branded” products (and, I understand on certain other chinese marketed kit), this represents a perfectly servicable tablet that does everything out of the box I’ve thrown at it, has acceptable (if not superb) battery life, for a substantially lower price than the “better” alternatives – i’m no “power user” – I just want something that’ll work for the 8-9 hours I’m stuck in hospital at a time during my treatments at the moment, to provide sufficient distraction from whats happening to me. This tablet provides that, while saving me cash at a time where things are a little tight financially.
Could do with a instructions book for us old ones.
I bought this to replace my SAMSUNG TAB S (first generation) purchased in 2014 and was running until this week – now in continuously reboots but as you can see its worked for 7 yrs so you have a tough challenge to beat that.
Packaging:- Great looking orange box with the TAB, a UK travel charger and a cable. Instructions were missing but hey who needs those 🙂
Setup:- I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. It downloaded my old apps from backup and off it went.
Look and Feel:- seems to be built well. I don’t see any cheap plastic. So thats a good.
UI:- Compared to what I had previously, AMOLED display, etc and my primary use being OTT, not very impressed with the video and sound quality. The brightness and depth in video is not upto expectations for an HD TAB. Sound is also not as great but hey who uses the TAB speakers :).
Connectivity:- wifi signal and speed is good. So, no complaints there. I don’t think I’d ever use it with a SIM , no not even testing it. Connected up my bluetooth headset, even that’s okay but I found it did not offer HD aptX which I thought is now a standard.
over all not a bad budget tablet. I went on to order another one and only time will tell how long it lasts or if it was a mistake (times 2).
I felt as though I was taking a chance with this tablet as I had never heard of the brand but this has surpassed what I was expecting.
It does exactly what I wanted it to do which is just simple web browsing and using basic apps with no bloatware.
I’ve had to play around with the settings to maximise battery life but have to say I’m really happy with it.
I was looking for a reasonably priced tablet with a good screen and plenty of memory and processor power. This gem meets those criteria.
The RAM and processor means it zips along without issues even when streaming HD films.
The screen is very responsive and crisp to view.
It is compact and fairly thin and light enough to slip in a handbag.
I would thoroughly recommend this tablet.
A quality Android tablet that compared very well in performance with the expensive brands.
I especially like the volume selection, it helps to listen to computer programming courses and Android programming tutorials that I am taking online.
I bought this to replace my Galaxy S3 which I had damaged. It took a lot of research on the Teclast to make me decide to buy it because I was very happy with the Galaxy. There is certainly no regrets in taking the plunge and buying it. It is a good solid tablet with higher specs than the Galaxy. A very neat looking tablet which I must admit I do like better than my old one. No regrets whatsoever on purchasing this and quite a lot cheaper too. Highly recommended
This tablet Succeeds expectations for the price in both quality and performance, Teclast products that I have – the Teclast P20hd and the Teclast M40 have both been surprisingly good Quality and perform well, good graphics capability and speed, along with wifi and 4g connections, it also has Bluetooth 5.0, I would certainly recommend Teclast tablets to anyone who wants a good all rounder at a good price.
my uncle need a simple tablet replace his old slow laptop.
these M40 model is fit to his need ,
email, searching online, take photos ,
and soon teach him add sim card , then can call and use WhatsApp.
for the price is very good .
Great tablet for the price. My only gripes are the touch screen isn’t the most responsive when the screen has closed. The battery is holding up well but it’s early days.
Really happy with this. I wanted android 10 inch and there seems to be a real lack of affordable options. This M40 is really quick and responsive in every way. The only downside is in strong light you might be taking care to angle it right, but for the price I think it’s amazing.
Am very satisfied with this tablet seems good specification for the money I’ve had it less than a week but so far I’m happy and would recommend i
My Apple mini 2 was struggling with cluttered sites, such as news websites so this is a major upgrade. With 128 gig on board and as much again an option it scores strongly on capacity and performance. Importing Android settings from a phone was simple, and even the large numbers of app downloads and installs were done quickly.
Expect about a day’s battery life with moderate browsing and YouTube use, and the neat charger and USB c cable supplied are a welcome change from the overpriced flimsy offering from Apple. The screen is crystal clear and the separately bought screen protector glass went on almost without a hitch. There were a couple of bubbles, but they disappeared overnight!
I need an internet connection when away from home and this Teclast M40 does the job.
A really good Android tablet. Works quickly and smoothly. A good seller too.
Never owned this tablet before but heard the reviews and it seems good to be true, absolutely brilliant and even more better than Apple Ipad, it fast, touchable sentenivity is good also, games and browsing internet seems fast and watching movies such as Prime-Video and Netflix is amazing and doesnt stutter much like Apple ipad does!
Worth reccommended to anyone and if you thinking of buying one, DONT just sit there!! BUY IT
I was looking to update a 2018 tablet which had become a bit slower at simple things. This Teclast tablet is supplied with 6GB of RAM which improves the speed, more so on those newspaper websites full of ads.
It’s a bit more chunky than my other tablets but I am more than happy with it. I haven’t seen an alternative at the price to match it.
One thing to note is that the price fluctuates and if you are lucky enough you may find it for 150 rather than the 200 I paid…
Very clear screen didn’t take long to set up downloaded info from old ipad to new long in no time very pleased with it worth the money
I was looking for something other than my usual choice of Samsung tab due to the limited storage being offered. This tab has been an ideal option. Plenty of storage, fast response, clear screen and sound is good. Charges quickly but probably doesn’t last as long as the Samsung. Overall impressed for this price
Excellent purchase, good screen size. Data transferred, working well and reliable.
This is my second teclast m40 as the first one is so good I got one for a present for someone else so definitely try them great products
Really pleased with this tablet. It does everything I wanted it for. Screen quality is good, battery lasts well, no problems.
Great tablet! Runs all I need it too. Heavy but not too bad.
I bought at the wrong time, but it’s still good quality and I’m impressed for the price. Watch the price fluctuations because you can save yourself 40 just by waiting…
Brought this for my mother, it works very well and is a nice budget tablet for what she uses it for.
I’ve always been a big fan of Samsung tablets and phones however back in February 2021 I bought one of these and also the slightly cheaper P20 HD for family members. I was slightly wary but need not have been. My wife has used her M40 ‘T-pad’ extensively every day, consuming web content, reading the news, doing her email, reading e-books and playing the occasional game of Candy Crush or whatever. She is absolutely delighted with it, as am I, especially at the price. It runs the latest version of Android and receives regular updates. We haven’t found an app on Google play that it can’t handle. I also think it is comparable in construction to the more expensive tablets. The screen resolution obviously isn’t as high as an iPad or the latest Samsung tablets but it is clear and sharp, with good colours and no flicker — perfectly usable, even for long periods. Touchscreen is sensitive and responsive. My wife uses it for watching TV on BBC iPlayer and similar. Battery life is excellent. I would say it’s worth paying the extra 50 for this 6 GB model, as opposed to the cheaper P20HD, unless your only intention is simple web browsing. Don’t be tempted by the discount offer on the manufacturer’s own carry case; IMHO there are nicer third-party alternatives, including a really nice black denim and PU leather case which is really sturdy and fits absolutely perfectly.
Fast, efficient and reliable. I have had a number of tablets over many years and this is the best by far. I can only fault it,in a minor way, over the sound quality. It is not quite as good as the tablet that my wife has, but hers did cost a lot more.
Use earphones and there is no problem. At this price level there is not a better tablet available
This tablet is very good value. It is fast and very easy to transfer from another table
Great tablet fast enough for my use Always buy android tablets rather the the other system.
It’s been in use only one day, do this is very much early first thoughts:
It’s quick & responsive. Seems to be missing a few usefully basics, such as auto-brightness and face identification. The instructions are minimal and the English is not great.
I cannot express how impressed I am with this tablet, it feels a little heavy with the cover on, but I have used it so much since it arrived. I used it for an online maths lesson and was not disappointed. its fast, works just like my phone, every synced beautifully and updated as I switched it on, cannot recommend it enough. comes with a nice plug and socket and a screen protector already in place. the usb-c is a massive bonus as it now shares a charger with my phone and I keep its charger in my school bag.
I would give it 10 stars
Really impressed by this tablet fantastic quality. Has great storage capacity. Cannot fault i
So far it is exactly as seen on reviews and I will come back after having it for a period of time.
It’s a good gaming tablet with specs that will make your games feel really smooth. The octa-core processor and 6gb of ram really makes a difference when playing high demanding games.
It’s big and weighs quite a bit so prolonged sessions of gaming will tire your hands out.
The screen is nothing special, feels like a Tablet from 2016 to be painfully honest, Playing with lights off is a MUST and trust me on this because it will BLIND you when there’s a light source hitting the screen even though the tablet is on and running!
Battery drains fast. nothing special there either.
and lastly, it heats up VERY VERY FAST. No longer than 10 minutes of playing a game that isnt that demanding. Makes your hands sweaty and it’s just very uncomfortable.
UI is smooth and has Android 10, it does feel solid! you can add more storage too by SD cards.
It’s average for a gaming tablet but I am amazed how well it handles games. I just hate how quickly it heats up.
It is very good for overnight afk farming!! Last Cloudia and War of the Visions work very well.
Cons:
– Heats up quick
– screen is light reflective and will blind you.
– no fast charge.
Pros:
– SOLID gaming tablet.
– Octa core processor and 6gb pushes your mobile games to the limit
– No crashes from apps (yet, I do leave it on overnight)
– comes with screen protector o
Excellent tablet, easy to set up .Very fast nice screen good spec, well packaged ,incredible value compared with top brands ,I would recommend this tablet.
Very good value for money. Well worth buying although if you like games the battery will run out quickly.
Spec is above and beyond value for money, Dual sim and all the mod cons
Great Buy this
Secured in a beautiful Orange Box next day speedy delivery .Tablet has Impressive looks better if silver mine was black. Booting up and software set up was easy and quick. Connection with WiFi was smooth and uninterrupted . Surfing and Downloading Data from any site was rapid as expected from 6 GB Ram . Next I turned off the WiFI , inserted a Mobile sim and made Video calls ; it was a smooth communication , my photo on the other side was reported bright and of good quality . Google search and downloading the Movies with Mobile Sim was even better. I found Call Recording option . Touch screen sensitive and flawless.
Now coming to the Screen resolution at 1200 +1920 pixels surely it was very good but not according to my expectations i will come back to the resolution point as it could be me not the Product .
As for the Negative Points there are hardly any but just for the list I will mention a few
1- No LED light 2- No finger print option 3- Charging cable too short 4- Tablet is compact hence slightly heavy 4- Battery life good but visibly drops with Video Playing 5- Screen brightness a bit less in day time but the same level. was dazzling at night so I had to bring it down 6-Charging is good but not super fast
Coming back to the Resolution I was expecting a Medical Grade high definition clarity to the level of getting every hair follicle and vein clearer when watching a person’s limbs but that might Only be Possible with top range Apple Products. Although Playing 4K Videos on this Tablet showed Crisp Bright Colour but Videos downloaded from sites like X-vIdeos did not Produce high Quality results but again it was Low MB recording .
Honestly I was Confused and then I played a few videos simultaneously on this Tablet M40 and on my MacBook where I noticed some of the Differences .
I was going to keep this Tablet but then again I have to buy an Apple Product to my utmost satisfaction , So reluctantly with apologies i returned to Amazon. It is a Toyota or Honda of cars and if some wants Mercedes then the Price is 600 + for that Tablet or for a Ferrari Lover Amazon has Tablets ranging 2700 . In my opinion one can confidently buy M40 because the features it provide are hard to find at this Price.
Much better than the M20! The M40 is quicker ,the camera is adequate but not up to the standard of a phone , but useful !
At this price I think it’s worth a look?
Lovely bit of kit solid feel to it nice weight picture quality excelle
This is a very good high specification tablet for the money, equipped with Teclast’s own UNISOC Tiger T618 processor, a 12nm octa-core processor featuring the A75 and A55 architectures, with frequencies up to 2.0GHz, which gives good performance for gaming, watching videos or any other function you might wish from a tablet. It is also quite small and light at 529 g, feels solid in the hand and can be used one-handed, unlike bigger tablets with 11 inch or 12.4 inch screens.
It has a 10.1 inch 19201200 FHD IPS 1080p Full HD screen which is sharp and big enough for most purposes. The 6000mAh capacity battery and AI smart power management give reasonable battery life, up to 6-8 hours, depending on usage. (The 10 hour battery life quoted by Teclast is a bit optimistic.)
The tablet has 1 x Micro SD / SIM Card port and 1 x SIM Card slot, supporting 4G mobile network SIM cards. The storage of the M40 has 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM, which is generous given the price, and storage can be enlarged with a Micro SD card. It has 1 x Type-C port for charging and to use with an earphone, if you get USB-C to 3.5mm Jack Headphone Adapter, which can easily be purchased separately for around 6 from Amazon (it does not have a 3.5 inch eaphone port – but this is becoming standard on both smartphones and tablets.)
I am happy to report that Teclast will honour the 12 month warranty if anything goes wrong.
IMPORTANT REVIEW UPDATE – POWER BUTTON DEVELOPED FAULT AFTER 3 MONTHS BUT TECLAST SENT A NEW TECLAST M40 TABLET TO REPLACE THE FAULTY ONE.
To Teclest’s credit, I today finally got a new Teclast M40 sent to me by Teclast, but the process to get the replacement under the 12 month warranty was a bit long-winded. If anything goes wrong with your M40 under the warranty you have to go though the process outlined below – in summary, you have to contact them via the email address: [email protected]. The Teclast Customer Service person at this email address did do a good job. Thank you!
The power button on/off switch stopped working after 3 months. It became impossible to turn off the screen or to power down the unit using the power button. Once off, the tablet could only be turned on by plugging in the charger lead. Rebooting the tablet or doing a hard reset to factory settings or a reset using the hole on the side of the unit does not solve the problem. Nothing solves the problem. My Teclast M40 tablet became effectively useless.
I initially tried contacting Teclast via the form on the poorly designed Teclast website, and then via Twitter. Teclast on Twitter refers you back to the retailer – ie. Amazon. Amazon Customer Support then has a link to contact the manufacturer, which takes you back to the same form on Teclast’s website!
In fact, in order to contact the manufacturer in an effective way, which produces a response from Teclast, you have to go through a longer and slightly tricky process of multiple screens on Amazon Customer Support, clicking “other” and then “other” again to eventually get to the correct screen to raise the issue with the manufacturer so their response is monitored by Amazon. I had to get an Amazon Telephone Support person to talk me through this complicated process, who was helpful but unfortunately had rather poor English, and also I am a bit deaf, which didn’t help.
This lack of UK-based customer support for Teclast’s products needs addressing, but other than that, I can recommend the Teclast M40 as a good, low-cost, high-spec tablet.
I had never heard of this company before I was looking for a tablet that offered better value than Apple. Well I found it and it is good value for money, powerful and has a good screen display. It is sturdy and looks good. What more can one ask.
I have only owned this tablet for a couple of days but I have been enormously impressed. It is massively better than the old Lenovo I used before, and from some time ago a Galaxy tab. It is very fast, connects easily to the Wi Fi, and straightforwardly uploaded some of my apps. I have not yet used it for videos and games so it is still early days, but the screen quality seems to be very good. I would finally add that I thought the controls were robust and firm, not cheap and plasticky as some reviewers have suggested.
THIS TABLET IS EXCELLENT WITHSIM CARS FOR TELECONFERENCING.
PERFECT BATTERY LIFE. SO MUCH BETTER BATTERY LIFE THAN SOME BETTER KNOWN TABLETS.
Brilliant tablet but heavy. Eats battery too but you won’t find anything as good for the money
I’ve used dozen of tablets: different sizes, type of displays, specs, from more or less known brands.
I use to thoroughly test each one in terms of performance, responsiveness, display quality, battery, and I was really surprised to find out the the M40 has absolutely nothing less than more “blazoned” and pricey tablets, in the upper range.
Absolutely beautiful display that support without a glitch a definition increase. Very responsive and with a long lasting battery. Furthermore, almost no customization in Android 10 that can be considered stock Android.
I highly recommend it.
I use the tablet for work. I am a land surveyor and setting out engineer, the tablet is very quick using the CAD app that I prefer when manipulating large 3D engineering layouts. Very well built with a metal she’ll, and superb value for money. The keyboard works well and so does the mouse. Battery life is adequate and the screen easily good enough for my uses.
You need 4 GB and above to run Android 10 and apps at a comfortable speed and this unit has 6 GB/128 GB. There should be a cheaper Wi-fi only model as not everyone requires the 4G mobile phone option. An option to run an app in dual mode would be nice, two instances of tweeter etc.
Got this to watch Netflix when not at home. Also as an E-reader. it plays Netflix absolutely fine but is a bit heavy to be an E-reader.
It doesn’t have an ability to determine direction which means it’s pointless getting the compass app or a star tracker app as everything is north regardless of what direction you are in.
overall OK
As usual the item arrived within 24 hours and was well packaged. I have had a Teclast tablet a few years ago and this one is even better. It is fast, has sleek lines and can be used with 2 sims. As stated it is very quick and is able to run anything. Had no problems so far and am very pleased.
Always suspicious when you are offered so much for a very reasonable price. The tablet has exceeded my expectations, it does everything and at great speed. I sometime think the battery could last longer, but because it is so quick and easy to use it probably gets more use than the tablet. Very happy.
Very pleased with this although camera quality not good, well I may not have worked out the settings. If you want a pad excellent, if you want a camera probably not.
Really good quality tablet. Great price too. Would definitely recommend.
I bought a Teclast F5 from a Chinese site 18 months ago and, apart from the rubber feet falling off, have been amazed at the performance and reliability.
So when I decided to replace my ancient tablet and saw the Teclast M40 on Amazon I didn’t hesitate to purchase it.
Only had it a few days but very impressed so far with both build and performance. The screen is particularly nice and the Bluetooth works far better with my speakers than previous phones and tablets.
Looking for a 4G tablet ? Good screen and fast processor . Well impressed.
Fine for home use, battery lasts well. Disappointed not to have Android update service, will Android 11 and later this year Android 12, be available to download?
Bought this for watching stories on the go.
The sound is good and clear. But the real surprise is its fast enough to do full HD in Prime Video and Netflix streaming, as well as decode of h265 10bit – something which the M30 Teclast could not do.
So very happy with the step up in power in this new generation.
I’m amazed by the fast delivery. It wasn’t due till January, but arrived in time for Christmas. Thank you so much. My son was delighted to have his present for Christmas. The tablet is excellent, but I have to get a case as it needs protection. A good company.
Got this one after kids cracked screen on work tablet. This one delivered quite fast and best part compare to its range it had dual band. Which is ideal not having connection issue, as my smart wifi wast quite smart and not letting 2.3 ghz to connect. Had to manually switch off 5ghz before. This one connects without problem due to dual band.
Also has SIM card slot which is perfect to mobilise use without wifi. It’s sim free so accepts any SIM card.
It’s slime design and fills quite nice in hands, compact and solid. Weight wise not cheap light and in same time not too heavy.
To expand memory, micro sc card can be added, it can accept upto 128gb memory cards.
For its range it has quite fast respond processor can run bit heavy excel formula files easily.
Display touch screen very responsive and quite colourful and bright colours.
Overall satisfied with cost and quality comparison.
The tablet is great for the price, everything is as expected. Its quick and responsive. The one minor point is the screen is very shiny so the reflection are pronounced (as many used in house, its not really an issue from my use case).
The most powerful tablet I ever owned. It let’s me play newest games, doing all formats videos playback, all my sheets works and generally all what my phone is capable to do but on the big screen. Option to add 4G sim is just great when there are soany cheap PAYG deals. Screen is very good as well, colours are nice and viewings angles are great. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever, great tablet for the money.
This is a great Android 10 tablet that has the added bonus of being able to include your 4G SIM card. It works on all UK networks and is great for video calling on whats app, zoom etc.
The tablet has a lovely IPS screen with a resolution of 1200×1920 and it gives and nice clear and sharp image with good colour tones. The tablet is smooth and fast thanks to the UNISOC T618 8-Core Processor running at 2 GHz coupled with 6GB of DDR3 RAM. Games also run smoothly with the Mali-G52 3EE GPU and I have let my son play ROBLOX which I can confirm works very well, better than on his own tablet he says. The front and rear cameras both work as you would expect, taking nice quality images for a tablet of this price range with the front facing camera being adequate for video calling. The tablet is great for watching videos with the speakers providing a nice crisp and clear sound. I have also connected up my Bluetooth headphones and these work very well with no interference. All in all I am very happy with this tablet as its fast, has a good build quality and works exactly as it should.
The tablet arrived very promptly and I am very pleased with it. I am not well versed in tech but the set up was completely user friendly and it has been easy to use. The screen quality is very good. I would have given it five stars but as I’ve only had it a few days I can’t comment on the durability. I am also unlikely to use the camera so I can’t comment on the quality of that. For the price I paid, I think it’s excellent.
