Really enjoyed using this raclette grill, it makes a nice change and is a fun way to cook for a group.
When on holiday I’ve had raclette before, both with the type that melts one huge wheel of cheese and the ones like this. Although the big one is really fun, actually this style is more convenient and everyone can cook at their own pace. It’s great for anyone who loves raclette already, or for anyone who just loves cheese!
Everyone gets a little pan (up to eight) and whilst cheese is of course the main ingredient, it’s nice to add some veggies, potatoes and meat if you like. Other reviewers have said it feels a little flimsy but I think it’s fine – the hot plate isn’t a hefty cast iron griddle style but as a result it heats up really fast.
I’ve also used this for pancakes! I thought they might stick a bit but they have been ok, the hardest but was spreading the pancake mix nice and thin – you can’t tip is like you can with a pan! I just used a fish slice.
I’m happy with the machine, for occasional use I think it’s great. How much use it gets only time will tell! I love being able to neatly store the e little pans in the base.
This raclette grill is fun and easy to use. You get 8 individual small pans to cook your own food under the grill as you wish, adding the veg you cook on the top and then melting cheese under the grill. The crepe part of the grill is also good and kids love using it to make crepes. Fun for all around the dinner table. Well made item from tefal
Absolutely Brilliant. Super easy to use and easy to clean. Can be put in the middle of the table (needs to be plugged in obviously) and everyone can make and fill their own pancakes how they want. Can be used for allsorts like eggs bacon etc. Handy little storage pots underneath for sauces beans etc. Definitely Recommend
This raclette cooker consists of a grill plate for things like bacon but nothing that loses lots of fat as the plate only has a small lip on it it has a flat round Area where you can do crpes pancakes et cetera I cooked chorizo mushrooms and peppers on the top underneath the plate there is an element that cooks eight small pans I put with eggs tomato two different cheeses Salt and pepper and parsley things on the top were cooked I added these they didn’t take very long to cook and were very tasty but there is no temperature control I thought the raclette was quite expensive for what it is
This set is a great way to minimize the mess when making breakfast. The top of the grill is perfect for cooking halloumi, mushrooms, a big omelet, or tomatoes. The inserts around the sides of the device can be used to cook eggs or anything else that you require. The intrays cook from the top down which makes the eggs feel a little oven-baked and chewy. The yolk also often becomes hard but if you time it right you can catch it in time to prevent this.
The top grill comes off the heated base and can be wiped clean with soap even if you have burnt cheese or mushrooms. This made the process of cleaning up much better! There are no temperature controls and just simply an on the button – but I think the chosen temperature is perfect for most things.
The whole device will take just under 10 mins to get to optimum tempreture and it might be wise to preheat the intrays before you add any food in order for the cooking to happen evenly.
If you make breakfasts or group meaks often then this is a great way to save space and minimize cleaning whilst also cooking a large batch for numerous people. This isn’t suitable for one person as there is just too much cooking space.
Very handy raclette grill that’s great at the centre of a table for a grill dinner.
Personally, I’m not so sure about the pancake (crepe) option, since the area for that is quite small, and I prefer larger pancakes in one go. However, as a grill, it’s pretty good.
The raclette function is nice, but my main use was actually the grill portion. Having used this to replicate Korean barbecues around a table, it did the job quite well. The grill heats up nicely enough to grill meat well and the area is OK for a small family. Doing this, you will need good ventilation, and the cord isn’t very long, so you need to be near a socket unless you use an extension.
Dishwasher safe is handy, although I gently wash it by hand just in case the non-stick coating is damaged.
The price of this is very high though at 74.44, when similar alternatives can be bought under 30 at the time of review. This largely comes to the brand name. The thing is, despite the brand, the non-stick coating won’t very durable and I don’t expect this to last very long, especially when I’m grilling meats with it, since I’ve had quite a few Tefal pans, and unfortunately, no matter how much care I put into cleaning, the non-stick coating simply doesn’t last very long. Due to this, I find the price a bit too pricey.
eally good item, excellent temperature control and great non stick qualities. it’s got a good heavy quality feel to it and heats up very quickly but the heat is nice and even.
cleaning is a bit tricky but the complexity that this item is, it’s not overly complex. if you cook crepes and the sort often, this is a must have item.
I have used this brand of pot, so I know it’s from France. It’s actually a very simple structure. There are 8 mini pans at the bottom, beating tube in the middle and a baking pan on the top. It’s the power source that cooks the food through heat.
It’s not round, it’s oval and very thin, so it heats up quickly. You can barbecue any food you like on the tray. Because their surface is coated with non stick coating, there’s no need to put too much oil on the baking pan. The tray is very light. You can take it down and clean it easy with a soft cloth.
In addition, the triangular mini pan below can be used for omelets, pies, cheese, etc. Overall I like it because there are no mountains of pots and pants to wash. It’s pretty good except that it has no temperature control which I am a bit disappointed.
This was an absolute joy to cook with!
The teal colourmania raclette and grill heats up so quickly that you are ready to cook in a couple of minutes.
First time you turn it on, there will be some smoke and a smell from the heating elemenets but this is completely normal, all new appliances do this such as toasters, waffle irons etc. It’s just the residues of he manufacturing process burning off. Mine had a little smoke and some smell for less than a minute and then was normal. So don’t be alarmed!
I decided to test the hot plate cooking some bacon – and my gosh, I’ve never had bacon faster. It cooked the bacon so quickly, and the cheese was melting at the same time in the raclette. I could eat and enjoy my cheesy, bacon potatoes in minutes- so easy and so fast. I honestly didn’t expect it to be so quick.
The appliance is a lot bigger than I expected (in a positive way) meaning there is plenty of space to cook lots of things at once. You get the removable hot plate and 8 raclette things (don’t know what they are called) each with their own handle. Despite its size, the tefal is super lightweight.
The hot plate heated up fast but also cooled really quickly too. It was fully cool by the time I finished eating so I could clean it and put it away.
It is mains powered and the plug is about 1m long. I wish it was a little longer to reach my socket to my table but that’s noting an extension couldn’t fix.
Overall, it’s brilliant. Perfect for quick meals, get togethers and parties. Highly recommend.
It’s a big device. The Raclette part consists of little flat pans which fit under an electric grill. You have a removable non stick plate on top for grilling the food that you are planning to coat with melted cheese. I used to have one but decided to charity shop it, because I couldn’t use it easily when I lived in a tiny flat. This is less swish- the base is blue plastic. However mine didn’t have a pancake indentation, which works reasonably well.
It’s supposed to be a cosy dining activity experience- the electric lead is about 195cm long- it’s a kettle lead with a cut out- so I’m not sure how easy it is to replace.
Technically you can melt any bubbling cheese. If you want the traditional Swiss variation, the cheapest source is the presliced stuff from Waitrose. As a veggie I pour the cheese on boiled potatoes and grilled veg like peppers.
On balance, I don’t like the aesthetics of this brand, but I do like the pancake option.
Then again I really like fondues and still have the pot I bought in the 1980s! All raclette grills are BIG.
Nice packaging looks impressive I found the tip cooking tray a little hard to take out and then a few marks inside ( slightly disappointing).
I found it easy to put the handles on the 8 little dishes and then the main cooking dish just rests on the element.
Sadly you don’t get any instructions except what’s on the books which is very disappointing.
Over all it works fine takes a little getting used to and the power lead is a very good length so you have lots of options to place and cook from.
It’s a good size so storage is hard as it took half of a single base unit up ( it’s not something both would display on your work surface.
I found that we use it more at weekends when everyone is home .
Price point is 71 little high unless you really use it regularly and use everything personal I like it and it’s relatively easy to clean ( remember it’s non stick.
This is a great machine that kind of confuses me when I think about it too much. Basically it enables cooking of various different things at the same time and lets you cook without mixing items and allows you to prepare everything to be rady at the same time.
Pretty decent compact size for what it it is.
Yup there’s 8 wee pans in it but I wouldn’t say it’s big enough for cooking 8 meals at once to be fair, I do think that’s a bit of a creative way of advertising these things but definitely enough space on it to cook 4 substantial meals.
I already have tefal pans and pots so I was eager to try this out.
This is specially for making racelette or crepes.
Although I haven’t made racelette before it was super easy to melt the cheese into. You get 8 pans you can fill it up with. ( you don’t have to use them all at once though you can just use the amount of pans needed.
You also make the crepes on the top of the grill ( you can also fit some mushrooms or tomatoes , whatever you want )
Also there is a thermo spot that turns bright red when the pan has reached ideal temperature for searing.
Overall its pretty cool and something different to make when family is over my only negative it has a lot of peices and is large so you need a big space to use it and keep it.
Tefal Colormania RE310440 3-in-1 Raclette Cooker Set
This little desk top cooker is a little unusual and described as a Raclette cooker, as I was unaware of what this was I looked it up. ‘Raclette is a dish native to parts of Switzerland. The raclette cheese round is heated, either in front of a fire or by a special machine, then scraped onto diners’ plates’.
The cooker is made up of a fairly wide base that houses a large electric element, there is a single on off power button with no apparent temperature control that I can see. This does come with a massive sheet of paper with instructions for every country, but under UK the language is not English, it looks more like Russian, so essentially there are no UK instructions supplied with this.
The main base has a huge electric element where a hot plate sits on top of this. Around the side are small gaps which allow 8 small pans to slide under the element (Supplied), this will grill all 8 at the same time, as well as heating the hot plate. This allows for party snacks or a complete meal to be cooked at once. The small pans are ideal for dropping eggs, cheese or other food into for grilling. The upper hotplate is ideal for cooking any kind of food on top. One side has a ribbed plate which is ideal for meat or vegetables, the other side has a circular section which is ideal for pancakes etc. The hotplate and pans have a non-stick coating so that cooked food comes away cleanly without leaving too much mess behind. Once cool, a quick wipe around with a damp cloth is all that’s needed.
Although never having used a cooker like this before I can see it’s uses. This is far lighter in weight than expected as the base is made from a rather thin heatproof plastic type material. The hotplate is also quite thin, the advantage of that is that the hot plate does heat up quickly. The only down side for me is that this cooker does take up a lot of storage space on our kitchen worktop. Plus it would have been nice to have had some English instructions included in the box.

Tefal Colormania RE310440 3-in-1 Raclette Cooker Set Grill and Crepe.
Made in France this is a light-weight table top grill. A large heating element is covered by a grill plate with room below the element for small dishes. It has an oval surface with a ridge area suitable for grilling vegetables, fish, chicken and kebabs or food which produce little or no liquids while cooking. There is also a flat circular area which is idea for cooking pancakes or crepes.
With the grill are 8 small triangular pans which can be placed under the heating element and are suitable to melt cheese in or grill small items like croutons. There is a long electrical cable (approx. 1.9m) which can be unplugged from the grill.
The grill heated in just a few minutes. I tested it by cooking crepes. These were very successful with the non-stick surface only needing a spritz of spray oil. I would like to test cooking an omelette next. There is only a small lip around the grill so items like sausages, burgers and bacon which can have high splash and fat leaching may be messy to cook on this grill.
There are very few instructions, they are all mainly pictures on the sides of the box, most are easy to decipher but a few had be puzzled. I liked this grill and shall continue to use it, it could also be used for a dinner party.
