This review presents my views after having returned a NINJA blender, and having bought this Tefal blender.

    PROS:
    — Real Solid Glass Jug. I do not like plastic/rubber, as it seeps into my foods (I do not want to consume plastic), especially in a blender where foods spin around at high speeds, brushing food against the inner sides. Glass is the way to go for me.

    — The blades seem of very good quality.
    — It comes with presets and also has variable speed.
    — It is not as noisy as the Ninja I returned.
    — All parts are easy to clean.
    — Unlike “smoothie blenders”, this is multipurpose, make smoothies, blend hot soups, etc.
    — Unlike “smoothie makers”, where jars/jigs often narrow on the top, in this Tefal the food does not get stuck at the top end.

    — Unlike many “smoothie makers”, where you can often produce only around 350ml (about a mug) of smoothie, in this Tefal I can produce enough smoothie for 3 people in just one go. This means less cleaning, less drips, less time taken, less energy consumed. This means I am more likely to use the blender.

    — Very Hygienic: All parts separate for easy cleaning (I could not figure out how I could clean the black base of the Ninja jar, seal appeared to be stuck.

    CONS:
    — The glass jug is heavy, as it has a thick glass wall. But this also means it is sturdy.

What is suction power, I am still working on the cleaning I still have not got it sparkling I am sure I will master the problem as I have eye sight problems the hand book is the biggest problem, I now make super creamy soup.

This blender has a good size. It’s pretty secure because it adheres to the surface. The first velocity levels are not so noisy. It’s easy to take off and clean the blades. I use mainly to make fruit juices.

    Good blende

Awesome build quality. Stays steady. Looks premium. Blends precisely. Only issue is the jar is a bit heavy and at times a bit difficult to clean. Though it has auto clean feature which works great but you can expect it to auto clean only 90% of the jar with it. Overall, a long term investment for sure!

    Powerful one

Plenty of power, Ive been using it for 2 months now and couldn’t be happier. Since the blades are removable I was worried liquids would leak at some point but so far nothing happened.
The auto clean function is a nice touch since you just need to add water and a tear of Fairy to clean the glass. Overall pretty happy with this machine, blends about anything you throw at it.

Can’t fault this really. It’s easy to use, efficient, well designed, safe. I particularly like the way the base is solid and heavy, so it won’t skid about on your surface or fall over. The glass jug is also nice and heavy, and the controls are simple to use. Makes great gazpacho, soups, sauces, etc. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is by far the best blender I used, I was looking for a cheaper substitute for a vitamix to get a silky smoothie. This product is amazing, by far better than the nutribullet. My smothies have never tasted so good ( apart from vitamix 600 ) I soooo recommend this product. Some of the reviews show their smoothie spilling, but I genuinely think they didn’t screw on the blades properly at the bottom.
Love the glass jug! The entire thing is such good quality for a decent price. If like me you’re not ready to spend hundreds on a great blender thus is such a great compromise. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this time I had to share. Hope this helps.

The blender is large and feels well made and sturdy. The smoothie setting and the clean setting are really handy and work beautifully. The jug is glass (so a bit heavy) and the whole unit it quite tall so finding a spot to store it might be a challenge in smaller kitchens.

I like this blender very much because it’s very stable when in use. I also like the fact that the jug is glass. I make soup 2 or 3 times a week so I get very good use out of it. Haven’t tried smoothies yet, so they’re next on my list.

  24. Della6446genzhe says:

A few details make this blender stand out from cheaper glass jug models of other brands.
I was looking for a blender that could easily handle ice cubes, to make smoothies and slushy drinks.
This one is brilliant, a bit expensive, but the quality is undoubtedly good.
Six blades that generate a good vortex effect, very well mounted on a good quality and sturdy plastic base.
The glass jug is well made and the plastic base is attached with a reliable mechanism, this is usually a weak spot in blenders of a cheaper make, where the plastic bottom doesn’t screw properly on the glass jug, or is prone to failure of the threading.
Handy automatic functions and a cool lit up power selector.
The only negative thing is the power selector wheel that is a bit cheap, of a light and cheap plastic. Can’t see it being a problem for now though.

I have used the product for making smoothies and hot soup with broccoli, potato etc. It makes them so smooth that we love it! The cap is great as it blocks any leakage while mixing. The only little downside is the item is a little bit heavy which makes it a little difficult for washing up. However, the glass jar is very durable for hot/cold and doesn’t leave stains after washing.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s very, very easy to use. I have only ONE gripe. Why oh why did they design it so the blades come out? The instructions say put a bit water onto the seal to stop any leaks when using the cleaning function. If the blades weren’t separate there would be no need to worry about leaks.
My previous blender (different make) was excellent for cleaning, integrated blades, no problem.
Apart from the blades niggle it’s a good blender and I’m happy enough with it.

I normally make my smoothies with tons of ice and frozen fruit so the fact that this blender was able to crush them throughly was a surprise to me because my previous blender required that I thaw them a little (even going so far as to pour in some boiling water) before they would blend smoothly. The noise is also on the low side as the “ice crush” function is like a pulse, it’s not very jarring on the ears. Overall, quite pleased with this blender.

It makes short work of blending fruit and vegetables providing there is some liquid in with them.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAwesome blender.

I’ve had the joy of using some pretty useless ones in my life but this ones awesome.

I bet if I put a brick in it would blend it (please don’t try that)

It has modes on it which stop and start the blending which really help with chopping everything up.
The build quality is excellent as you would expect from Tefal.

Cleaning is quite easy and most of it can be done by putting a few cups of water into it and settings it going.

I’ve made smoothies, blended nuts + seeds and made soups with this so far and never had anything smoother.

If your looking for a good quality blender I highly recommend this one

I’ve been using this blender for a few months now and I’m very happy with my purchase. It’s very sturdy, the blades are very strong and the functions work as advertised. I don’t think it’s louder than your average blender. The only caveat is that the glass jug is quite big and therefore heavy, so bear this in mind if you feel it might be a problem.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI researched for a while before purchasing a blender and I am so, so pleased I picked this one. It is noisy but with the speeds it reaches, that’s understandable.

Its excellent quality and I’m particularly fond of the glass jug. I’ve made smoothies, vegan cheeses, sauces, peanut butter and much more with this blender and it’s handled all of that like a champ!

If I had to moan about something it would probably be that sometimes it’s quite difficult getting the thicker mixtures out of the jug with the ribs on the jug and the blades at the moment, but I think that’s a common issue on all blenders so not specific to this one.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I’m totally in love with this blender! Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe needed a blender with sufficient power to prepare our family’s variety of food items. Our previous mixer served us faithfully for 11 years and would have continued to if were not for the replacement gasket and knives priced half as much as the blender. So the hunt began for a blender under 42cm in height to fit under the counter with power equal if not more than 525 watts. But the prospect of being able to replace it with a higher power blender was exciting. Imagine being able to afford all the extra power under the hood, without breaking the bank.
We stumbled on Tefal PowerMix BL811D40. The controls were simple. The design was compact. My wife was partial to the glass jug, whose heft provided a degree of stability for the blender. For her, the stainless steel exterior was a winner. I was impressed by the 1200 watts motor delivering 28,000 rpm. Initially, upon purchase, I wondered about the sound level, but was put to rest upon our first use; at full throttle, the sound level was lower than our 11-year-old 524 watts blender. Our first task was grinding a mixture of soaked lentils and rice, and it was perfect at half the time of the old mixer. The impressive smooth yet reassuring power and the knife design, in my opinion, had a lot to do with this. The cleaning was a breeze, as well. The gasket comes off easy, just watch out for the knives they are sharp don’t nick the gasket or your fingers. There are suction cups under the unit that adds to the solid feel of the blender. My wife and I are impressed with the blender’s performance on first use; we may followup after a year. Our mixers do get a workout. The Braun lasted 11 years of faithful service, but nothing lasts forever. We just wanted to try another brand with an equally simple design, with lots of spare power and durability. I hope thisTefal PowerMix BL811D40 continues to impress us as it did during the first day of its operation.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersVery pleased with this item! It blends soup, fruit and veg smoothies (including frozen fruit) and I have used it for cake mix as well. It is sturdy (the suction pads at the bottom hold in place) and the self cleaning function is very useful as a way to carry out a pre-wash before washing the jug in the sink. The blade attachment can be detached from the bottom of the jug for easy cleaning. The jug is made of glass rather than plastic – another reason for me buying this blender over others that have a plastic jug. Having said that, the jug is a little heavy as a result (not a problem for me but might be a problem with those who cannot lift heavier items easily). All in all a very good product for the price.

This machine happily chomps its way through frozen fruit and even frozen coconut as though they were paper and within just a few seconds. For the power of the machine it isn’t at all too noisy I’m glad to say. The smoothie button gets the most pushes in our house. 1 very happy customer.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersMy initial impression is that this is by far, the best blender I have ever owned. The particular things that have impressed me are: 1)The build quality seems to be very good and it has a thick glass jug, which is easy to clean and won’t scratch or stain like the plastic type; 2) The blades can be easily removed for cleaning, but since there is a positive click when they are re-attached, I am confident that I won’t have the problem I have had with other brands, whereby the blade assembly has come undone when removing the jug, thereby spilling all the contents onto the worktop and worse still, into the motor unit, rendering the appliance as scrap; 3) The smoothie pre-set works really well and so far, has not left any unprocessed bits in the food; 4) The cleaning pre-set does an excellent job of cleaning the inside of the jug and chopping blades. After using the pre-set, I removed the blades assembly and it was completely clean, even down to the rubber seal, so I shall probably only have to strip it down for a complete clean once a week or so, depending on how much it has been used. One word of warning though — if you do buy this product, take note that, as it states in the instruction manual, the blades are VERY sharp; much sharper in fact that on my previous cheap blender. I wasn’t paying proper attention and managed to stab one of my fingers on the end of one of the blades; ouch. The only other thing to be aware of is due to the fact that the jug is made of thick glass, it is pretty heavy, especially when full of liquid, so anyone who has problems with their hands or arms might struggle a bit.

The difference between this blender and the numerous previous units I’ve tried is immediately obvious. Rather than the usual hard plastic that often discolours and/or cracks over time, the jug component is actually really thick (heavy) glass.
The motor is really powerful and works a treat. When it comes to cleaning, being able to detach the cutting unit from the glass jar is a welcome change from having to try and clean around a cutting-blade in situ, and glass is a much easier clean
than plastic. Well-built, quality unit that I’m very happy with and wish I’d invested in earlier over the cheaper plastic alternatives.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAlza.co awarded this blender a 4.8 out of 5 user score and more importantly a 98% reliability score based on over 1000 purchases. In other words one of the big differences between this and cheaper alternatives is simply — the Tefal should last one heck of a lot longer! Well I’m late to this review as we’ve had our now for over 6 months and whilst the functionality is limited (this really is a product solely designed for ice crushing, soups and smoothies), the performance is excellent. Longevity aside, cheaper models also have a tendency not to fully mix and merge blended smoothies (especially when using vegetables) with 80% of ingredients remaining at the bottom, but with the Tefal the end result is exactly akin to buying a blended drink from a caf or shop — it mixes and it mixes very well indeed. The jug is heavyweight glass (essential) and according to Tefal their patented Tripl’Ax blade (six stainless steel knives located at three levels) create a cyclone effect in the mixer, meaning all the ingredients not only get blended but are left evenly dispersed. Better still the entire knife system detaches & can be removed, making cleaning the blender a doddle.

Overall then 5 stars for superb design, a strong reliable motor (which should last for years), glass jug (hot or cold contents no problem) and consistent results!

I got this blender primarily to make smoothies and it worked very well indeed, the fruit was blended well, there were no lumps left in the bottom or stuck on the sides as sometimes happened in my previous blender, I used the ice crush function and it crushed the ice that I had added to the smoothie very well and poured out into the glass without making a mess.
I also tried it for blending hot soups, the glass jug got a bit hotter than I was expecting, my old plastic jug blender allowed me to hold it with both hands when it contained hot liquid but apart from that the blender worked well and I had smooth soup within seconds.
It is easy to clean after use, I took the blades out of the jug and then put the lot into the dishwasher without any problems.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBrilliant blender as you would expect from a well known brand like Tefal.

I got this to use at work as we have started to make smoothies using fresh fruit and needed a robust option that was easy to clean and would last. So far it has been great.
It uses 6 blades so has no issues blending the fruit I have used and at times when requested ice in there as well each blend was easy and had no struggles.

It is easy to clean the blender and we have been rinsing it off and putting it in the dishwasher afterwards. I have not seen any damage etc on it by doing this so I would say it’s dishwasher safe. It is a little bit noisy when in use but I think like most blenders this is to be expected.

I am very happy with this and what this has produced. The quality is A*

I like this blender. It reminds me in its sturdiness of my very old kenwood chef “liquidiser” sadly long gone but a similar chunky reliable feel. It efficiently blends large and small quantities (lovely smooth soups) and dismantles quickly for dish washer or hand washing.

Before this Tefal Perfect Mix+, we used a cheap smoothie blender. It was OK, but it wasn’t powerful enough to cope with ice or thick fluids.

This Tefal has no such problems. It’s super powerful and waltzes through anything we throw at it.

Sure, at 89.99 it’s expensive, but it’s also very well made and worth the money. The solid glass jug in particular feels very sturdy.

A nice to have feature is that this blender has a self-clean mode. It basically goes through a variety of speeds and pulsing motions to clean itself out with warm water. It’s surprisingly effective and is sure to save time.

If you want a top quality, powerful blender, you can’t go wrong with this. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersBlenders – I seem to recall them being jolly popular in the 1970’s…But seem to have made a bit of a comback with the passion for fuit juice smoothies and soup.

Now,, in a brief walk around my local John Lewis I could not help but recoil at the price some brands charge for what is in effect a simple machine. And when I got home I had this to review which if nothing else beats the expensive stuff into a cocked hat.

Build quality is excellent. Really good for a household item which if anyone watches AvE on Youtube would know is a rare thing. Power tools are often well made for the price whilst household stuff is almost always the opposite. The jug is high quality thick glass and easy to clean.

Well this is a damned good machine. Lots of heft and big enough to do a proper job. Easily as well made as the very most expensive stuff you see in the department stores.

In use…well I only do soup. But for soup its great. Nothing I’ve blended so far has come out anything other than smooth and creamy.

So, if you want a blender then you would be hard pressed to better this for the money. Mine is now with me overseas because my wife doesn’t want more stuff in the kitchen. For me I batch make and freeze soup for lunch. Save my waistine.

    If You Want a Blender..

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsed this for the first time since we got it today, to make a banana milkshake with crushed ice and maple syrup. I haven’t read the manual yet. I thought I’d buck it, and see how east/intuitive this might be. I assembled/chopped/poured in all my ingredients, including four or five ice cubes, and hit the ‘crushed ice’ button.

The blender set off, on a pulsing pattern. I wasn’t sure if it was going to run for a set time. But it appeared to just keep on pulsing, do I hit the button again, and it stopped. Poured my drink, drank it. Delicious, refreshing. The ran a little warm water into the ‘jug’, and hit ‘auto clean’. Another but different pulse program! Let it run a few times, hit the button, and it stopped. Quickly washed off the jug and the two-part lid and set aside to drain. Easy peasy.

So, a reasonably attractively designed thing, as these sorts of things go, solidly built, with a good large capacity, and easy to use and clean, even without consulting the manual. I’m very pleased. Will have to see how much else it can do in the fullness of time. If I hadn’t got this free, I’d never have tried it, as it’s too expensive. So I’m less confident to pronounce on ‘vfm’. But happy to recommend it as an excellent and convenient kitchen ‘power-tool’.

Great blender. Solidly made and stylish. It’s very easy to use and to clean. Blends food items quickly and efficiently via its powerful 1200w motor. The jar is made from glass rather than the usual plastic. The blades have a triple action to really blend food items – hard or soft. Cleaning is easy via its cleaning mode. What’s not to like!

Tefal makes very high quality kitchen appliances and this is a solid addition to their middle range . Well worth the money constructed of stainless steel and solid plastic with a heavy duty motor that should give many years of service. The weak points on these devices is always the motor and it’s worth paying more as in this case for much more reliable piece of equipment . This device comes on manual speed settings and programs as well and is easy to clean both by hand and in the dishwasher .
This is a very good versatile device probably a good balance of quality and price if it’s not device you think you’re going to use every day . Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersHave been using this for a couple of weeks now and have been pleased with it. Thoughts as follows:

    PROS
+Powerful, really does blend things all the way down. Making something like a soup with broccoli in it, you’re left with just a green soup, rather than tiny little bits of green as would be the case with my old blender.
+The one-touch programmes work well (there are 3 – smoothie, autoclean and ice crush). For the smoothie programme, just through in the fruit and some milk and it will perform a combination of pulse, blend and pauses and I’ve been very pleased with the result. Same for the autoclean mode. Haven’t crushed ice yet as haven’t needed to.
+Haven’t noticed it get hot under load.
+Glass jug is good and seems a lot more durable than plastic.
+No chunks left unblended when in use.

    CONS
    -Rather loud when operating.
-I don’t see a further ecosystem you can buy from to increase the flexibility of the product – attachments for grinding, food processing, grating, etc. Perhaps there is and I’ve missed it. Some other systems have this.
-Recipe book too basic. Would have liked some more inspiration out of the box.

    NEUTRAL COMMENTS
=Jug is quite heavy. For older/infirm, this may be an issue versus using a plastic one. Main unit also heavy and its suction feet are almost too good – you need a fair bit of force to move when it has stuck itself to the work surface.
=Unit footprint is on the large side. Fits on my worksurface fine under cupboards, but if you have less space it may be an issue.
=Spatula is a bit odd. Has a boxy bit on one end but it doesn’t connect with the unit.

In summary I’m pleased with this product. It’s a lot more powerful than others I’ve owned and the multi-pronged blending blade means you don’t get left with bits – you get an even blend. The preset programmes are also good. My only hesitation on this product would be if I wanted an ecosystem I could buy attachments for – this has just one function, as a blender. But for its one core function as a blender – it’s very good and is a quality, premium product.

Will be mostly used for soups and smoothies so that’s what I’ve experimented with so far. It’s definitely high speed and a quick whizz is all that’s needed to sort out my Mushroom soup and my lentil soup which I make with diced carrot and turnip just needed the lumps blitzed out which took no time at all. Easily copes with smoothies made with crushed ice too and so far nothing we’ve tried has given it any problems at all. Handy, efficient and used almost daily.

Excellent blender. Very easy to set up and begin to use. It’s high powered and does make a bit of racket, but its so good I can’t complain about that. Makes light work of smoothies and milkshakes. Easy to clean and pack away.

This initially appeared to be unsophisticated as a blender, however, it does have some functions built in. These are: smoothies, auto clean and ice crushing. It also includes a manual speed control.

It is not a quiet blender but performs most of the functions effectively. I can’t say that the auto clean is a function of any great value. I have always done this manually and it doesn’t seem to do anything better. For a full clean, it still needs to be taken apart, so I’m not sure why it was included as a special setting.

The user guide is not great which does seem to be the way of things these days. As a software technical author, now redundant as companies cut back, I continue to be disappointed and this is no exception. The only things that seem to be written thoroughly for the user are the health and safety warnings. Information on features and how to use them usefully is scant, but the lawyers keep the printers busy. Sorry, rant over. At least it wasn’t just a collection of pictograms. For the price, I’d like a decent user guide and some useful suggested recipes.

All that said, it does work well for something that, for me, is a kitchen essential. It is powerful and effective.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe have used a fair number of Blenders over the years. This stands out as the most powerful. The power is amazing. Despite its sheer power, it neither moves about or vibrates thanks to the 4 suction cups at the base located at the corners making it stay put.

I prepared a mixture of fruits: a Pink lady Apple, red grapes, honeydew melon, a conference pear and ice cubes. It liquified the fruits and ice in a few seconds. Normally we have to sift after blending groundnuts. Not with this beast of a Blender. The results are fine enough to not require sifting! This makes sense when you see how sharp the six blades are and how they are arranged. The blending bowl is this heavy-duty glass which is graduated in both Litres and OZ (Ounce).

    What a Blender.

The most Powerful Blender I have ever used

Cheap blenders come with plastic jugs, which gradually stain, and even when cleaned in a dishwasher seem to retain a certain smell about them. This blender has a proper (thick and heavy) glass jug, which could dislocate toes if it fell on your foot!.

The base is also nice and solid, with rubber feet which cling tenaciously to the work surface even at maximum speed.

The jug lid is also well sealed, with a central access port and cover for adding more fruit to the mix as you blend,

There is a very good range of speeds, with an expressive indicator of a lengthening red arc as the speed increases.

Al;though it is a little noisy when crushing ice, it’s no more than you would expect. There are automatic buttons for ice crushing and basic cleaning if you’re doing a range of different smoothies. There is also a pulse mode for very soft fruit if you’re preparing filling for cakes.

Deep cleaning in the dishwasher when you’re finished is easy and effective. And yes, it makes good smoothies.
The instructions are sufficiently comprehensive and easy to read, without too many pages of safety warnings.
    Very highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Tefal High-Speed Blender is the perfect kitchen accessory appliance. The appliance is quite heavy and when sat on a kitchen surface it looks very professional. The glass jug has some serious weight to it and overall, the appliance is very well made with easy access to the blades for cleaning and the appliance comes with its own self cleaning mode. I made a very tasty soup with the blender and a lovely smoothie drink as detailed below. I am looking forward to many other variations.
For the soup, I sliced, diced and boiled until soft a sweet potato and couple of carrots. I lightly fried a red onion until soft and cut up a red pepper. Draining the boiled veg, I added a tin of chopped tomatoes, the red pepper and softened onions. I added a small amount of veg stock, using a cube, added seasoning and herbs and cooked until the pepper had softened. I allowed the veg to cool until it was warm and then spooned it into the jug of the blender. I blended for just a few seconds and was greeted by a lovely smooth consistency. I warmed the soup for lunch and served with a cheesed topped baguette. The soup was very appreciated.
For the smoothie, to the jug I poured in a glass of milk, added a chopped banana and small spoonful of honey. I blended for a few seconds and served with brandy snap biscuits. Very tasty.
I shall enjoy trying out the Tefal blender on other recipes in the near future.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEfficient at what it does, also seems to be a little quieter than blenders of a similar design in my opinion. My biggest bug bear with this style of blender is that something usually sticks to the side or near the blades and just won’t blend! Not found this happening on this product, normally banana is the biggest issue but this has blended everything I’ve thrown at it.

Does a terrific job of making curry base gravy and makes easy work of the onions! It is definately high speed. It strips down well and cleans really easily too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis review concerns the Tefal Perfect Mix+ BL811D38 High-Speed Blender, 1200 W, price at review 89.99.

A reasonably compact blender from a market leader in kitchen appliances.

Comprising of a brushed aluminium, surprisingly heavy base unit with an approximate 2 litre capacity dish washer friendly glass jug this model sits in the mid price range of similar devices.

With just three Pre-programmed selector buttons and a multi position dial for speed control – operation is simplicity itself. This simplicity negates the need for a detailed instruction manual.

The 1200 watt motor is adequate for the designed task and is reasonably quiet in operation.

Unlike some other offerings from competitors the blade assembly is easily removed for cleaning.

A quality product from Tefal with a 10 year promise of spares availability.

I use blenders for making soup in the winter and making smoothies in the summer. This one has a 1200 W motor. It’s brushed stainless steel and the dial gives you these options: pulse, a choice of speeds when you turn the dial higher.

You also have three buttons: smoothie, ice crash and auto clean. The smoothy and ice crush speeds are preprogrammed. For the auto clean setting, you add up to 1 L of water at no more than 80 and press the button. It stops automatically after you hear 4 bleeps. It does a good job of cleaning mush off the blade, but you still need to wipe around the top and rinse it under a tap to get rid of the last residues. Does it save much time? It saves you sticking your fingers in with the blade.

*Please note, this model does not include the herb chopper or the spice grinder.* You get the regular blade and a spatula only. At first I thought the spatula fitted as an attachment. But as far as I can see is just a handheld spatula.

The build quality appears good with a sturdy base and a thick, glass jug (only takes liquids up to 80 degrees). This does blend smoothly — it appears to have six blads rather than the average four. To access the blades, you unscrew the base and the bottom falls out, so you can easily get to the blades if you need to give the a thorough clean.

I like the option of the auto clean: I’ve had a Kenwood blender jug crack with a change in temperature during washing up.

    Nice machine.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersTefal Perfect Mix+ BL811D38 High-Speed Blender, 1200 W is one first-class blender which works quickly and easily with great ease and procession, quickly and very easily.
I like the fact that it has three settings which are as follows.
    1. smoothies
    2. auto clean
    3. ice crush.
Each setting worked quickly and easily, it did take the ice crush to work thoroughly, the fact is that I simply had to press the Ice crush button which started the program, this enabled the blender to work quickly and easily and provide me with lovely crushed ice.
The smoothie button works the same as it does not stop working until the correct blend has been received with your chosen drink.
The smoothies setting was excellent and I loved the drinks which I was able to create. I was able to make very tasty smoothies and with the added bonus when I worked out the price of the ingredients it was an economical way of making the families favourite smoothie/milkshakes etc. I am also able to make healthier options with less sugar etc, which is especially important for my own family needs.
The auto clean was very handy and this enabled me to make sure the glass thermal resistant jug plus blades were sparkly clean. I also like the fact the jug can go from hot to cold and will not crack with a change in extreme temperature which is ideal when you are blending hot soup and immediately want to clean it and go straight to making smoothies etc.
This is a first class blender which is easy to look after if you are cleaning it using a dishwasher make sure the washer which seals the bottom of the blender must not be washed in a dishwasher, though the main thermal jug etc.
Tefal Perfect Mix+ BL811D38 High-Speed Blender, 1200 W is a great blender and one I am very happy to recommend.

This is a perfectly adequate blender. It makes good soup and smoothies and can crush ice (though I have not tested this function). It is noisy.

It has three pre-set functions —
    * Smoothies
    * Auto cleaner
    * Crushed ice
It also has a manual speed control.

It is badly let down by the instruction booklet which is one of those flimsy multi-lingual affairs which makes huge claims, warns you at length about safe practices (which only a nincompoop with no common sense would need to be told about) but it doesn’t tell you what the spatula is for. It looks as though it should fit in the hole in the lid, but it doesn’t. In the end I reckoned that it is just a spatula with a collar that stops it falling into the goblet and fouling the blades — but it looks as though it should do something far more exciting than that. There are also instructions for accessories that this model doesn’t have. I find this very irritating as it is often not clear which model you have and you can waste time looking for bits that don’t exist.

I do not understand the mind set of manufacturers who produce a complex, sophisticated machine for which they expect you to pay nearly 100, and they skimp on the instruction manual. I am sure that it would not cost a fortune to produce a proper instruction booklet (perhaps an extra fiver?).

The other argument I have with this machine (though perhaps it is in fact another complaint about the instruction leaflet) and that is the auto clean function. The leaflet tells you to fill the goblet with a litre of hot water and a couple of drops of washing up liquid, then press the auto clean button which will turn itself off when the cycle is finished — so far, so good — but then it tells you to switch the machine off at the plug, dismantle it, taking care because the blade is very sharp — doh! — and then to clean around and beneath the blade. If you have to do all that, you might as well start off by dismantling it and running the goblet under the hot tap — much quicker and just as effective! (However, I have used the auto clean function several times and the machine has been thoroughly cleaned all around the blade without taking it to pieces).

All in all, it is reasonably priced for a 1200w machine. It worked well, if noisily, but it was let down by its presentation.

The Tefal PerfectMix has a 1200W motor, which means the base section containing that motor is quite large and heavy. It’s also brushed aluminium so looks as well as feels like a quality item. The size does mean that with the jug attached it is quite tall and didn’t fit on the worktop to store underneath the wall cupboards. Something to bear in mind if space is already a premium in your kitchen. The jug is made of glass rather than plastic, which again gives a sense of quality and professionalism. Better still, the blade unit is removable for cleaning so the jug can be properly cleaned without losing any fingers.

In fact there is a cleaning setting which is not something I’ve found on a mixer before. Just be careful not to put more than a couple of drops of washing-up liquid in before starting it! Easy cleaning, storage and a quality feel are important for me in choosing a mixer, hence mentioning them up front.

The blade construction is designed to make sure that nothing gathers at the bottom and remains un-chopped, something that is really annoying and prevents a truly smooth smoothie. In use it works very well and the included spatula is also useful for scraping the sides of the jug. Would have been nice for a silicon one rather than stiff plastic though. Ice crushing works well using the preset. I’d begun to think it was too late in the season to want ice but it warmed up again so we made a very nice iced coffee.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far, I’m really impressed with this blender. Certainly more so than with a fairly comparably-priced Russell Hobbs model that died just inside of a year of ownership when the motor base stopped working without warning. In normal circumstances, I’d seek to invoke the warranty, but since my RH blender was an Amazon Vine review item, I had no warranty rights. Instead, I looked for a replacement the base – and was horrified to discover that no spare/replacement parts were available. In contrast to this bad experience, this Tefal blender is well-supported by the manufacturer, who include a promise that it will be reparable for 10 years. They evidently intend to keep making parts – and the manual indicates that this is one of a series of similar blenders.

This Tefal Perfect Mix+ is a nice-looking blender, with a robust glass jug and a brushed stainless steel-sided base unit. Not metal-look plastic. I like this so much better. When put together, this is quite tall – so if you have top kitchen cabinets that have been hung on the low side, there might not be sufficient clearance to fit this underneath on your worktop. The blender is easy to use, with a combination of 3 pre-programmed function buttons, as well as a speed control dial. The jug, blade and locking ring (but not the seal) are all dishwasher safe. The manual doesn’t make any specific reference as far as I can see, though I may have overlooked this, to the lid and lid cap – but I’ve been dishwashing them too, and they seem fine so far.

The 6-blade construction gives a good, smooth, rapid blend, and crushes ice easily. Although hot liquids can be blended, they mustn’t be above 80 degrees C. A spatula tool is included to help you scrape down the sides of the jug to ensure uniform blending, and to help ensure that you get as much as possible of your blend out of the jug when you’re ready to pour. If I’m being picky, this isn’t the most flexible spatula I’ve ever used – it’s quite a robust plastic and not as bendy and effective as a silicone-ended version – but useful to have if you don’t have one already.

The recipes included in the instruction manual are so limited and tokenistic an inclusion that it would almost have been better if the manufacturers had omitted these altogether and saved some space in the multi-lingual manual. A cold carrot soup that literally consists of a combination of raw carrots and water, and the rather grandiosely titled ‘mixed figs’ designed for a mini chopper and literally consisting of figs that get chopped are disappointingly weak. A few, slightly better, recipes (for smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks) are available from the manufacturer’s website. But only a few. Although it’s nice to get a few worthwhile recipe suggestions with a new blender, I prefer the more sustainable practice of being able to get parts, and repair mine if necessary.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOK, like me, you’ve probably bought a cheaper blender before and when you see the price of this product you’re left wondering why is this so much more and does it do anything else? Well the simple answer is no, it blends but this is what the differences are:
    1) Air cooled powerful motor – no over heating due to a cut off switch so machine less likely to break.
    2) Solid construction so moving parts less likely to break
    3) Thermal Glass jug – most others just have a cheap plastic jug, this one can take hot or cold liquids and with the depth less likely to overflow, easier to keep clean.

All in for me its a great use item, its one that I’ll be using all year round whether I’m making pestos, soups, smoothies, milkshakes and for me with the multiple blades it will make sure that everything is nicely blended whereas the cheaper ones can leave the blended item feeling grainy. So really the question you want to ask yourself is what are you using it for? Will you use it a lot? If the answer is lots of different foods all year round, do yourself a favour and buy the more expensive one, quality will be remembered long after price and with a 10 year service it will more than pay for itself.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is a powerful, high capacity, 6-bladed machine. It has proved very effective in our kitchen, so far. It’s a pleasure to use and easy to clean, while looking very smart on the worktop.

The goblet has a working capacity of 1.5 litres. It’s glass, greatly preferable to plastic. The glass used tolerates rapid temperature changes and stands up well to jobs like ice crushing. It doesn’t yellow, take on colours or odours from food, or get scratched with time. The spatula that’s included in the box is really useful, the measuring jug worth having too.

The soup we tried in it blended very evenly. I’m not quite sure what the smoothie programme does (just a marketing gimmick?) but the smoothie we tried (red cabbage, apple, plum and oatmeal) had a near-perfect, thick texture. It had no trouble crushing ice, with acceptably even results. What most pleased us, though, was a successful attempt at peanut butter.

It’s disappointing that there are only two recipes in the box and only one of those can be made without spending extra on a mini-chopper. Our existing blender from Philips came with a really good recipe book. Still, the internet is awash with ideas.

Machines with more powerful motors, higher speeds and greater capacity are available, but at higher prices. For less than 90, this is a first-rate blender.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis Tefal Perfectmix+ high-speed blender looks and feels well made and comes with a 1200W motor which can deliver speeds of up 28,000rpm. There are three built-in programmes smoothie, self-clean and ice crush modes plus a pulse feature and backlit variable speed control. In the box you also get a handy spatula, measuring jug, instructions and UK based support details plus a 2 year warranty.

A unique feature is the 6 multi-directional blades which are designed to avoid chunks being left in the lower part of the jug. The 2L (1.5L usable) thermo-resistant jug allows you to blend hot and cold items in quick succession without the risk of the glass breaking and the air-cooled motor features a thermal cutout in the event of overheating

I like the stainless steel/dark grey look of this blender which is neutral enough to fit into any kitchen decor plus the base of the motor unit has non-slip feet and cord storage. In use, this blender is good, I’ve used it to crush ice, make soup and salsa dip.

The two things I particularly like is the simple but effective control you have using the variable speed control, this prevents you ending up something like a salsa dip being too smooth and you can get soups to precisely the consistency you want.

The multi-directional blade assembly (Tripl’Ax) ensures the whole batch you are blending has the same consistency, with past blenders often there’d be a section below the level; of the blade which was coarser than the rest. The jug also pours without spilling and is easy to keep clean, you can put it in the dishwasher if you wish but it requires a degree of disassembly although it is simple enough or, you can use the auto-clean feature which works well.

The only curiosity is the choice (or lack of) of recipes in the instruction book – there are only two suggestions; cold carrot soup and mixed figs, the latter of which requires the mini chopper accessory which isn’t included in the UK pack.

In summary, I really like this blender because it has control, delivers consistency and just the right level of sophistication to be practical – you won’t have to keep reaching for the manual.
