It seems to be well built but can’t comment on durability as I’ve only had it for a few weeks. Anonymous says: 30/04/2021 at I bought this for testing the temperature of my roasted meats as I thought I digital one would be more accurate than what I already used. It is compact but still easy to read and can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Plus it has a hanging loop or clip for easy storage. Anonymous says: 29/04/2021 at Revolution in the kitchen, no more guessing if it’s done or not, I’ve found that I have been overcooking things until now because of being afraid meat or fish wasn’t cooked through but now I can get them perfectly done Doug says: 24/04/2021 at I love this thermometer and use it for all sorts – meat, bread etc. Quick and accurate. llehman says: 06/04/2021 at I bought this when I first started making my own yoghurt, and had never really considered how useful it would become around the kitchen. Like a lot of people during lockdown, I decided that I really wanted to up my cooking and baking skills whilst stuck in doors all of the time. As I started to take on more complicated recipes the amount of times I’ve had to check the temperature of things has increased significantly, and having this little gadget has really helped get the best out of my cooking. A little thing that’s made a big difference Anonymous says: 01/02/2021 at Great little thermometer, really easy to use, quick and accurate just give it a wipe with a sponge and job done! I used it to test the temperature of a turkey crown at Christmas and now use it all the time to test reheated food like curry! Stops over cooking and drying food out. Would definitely recommend. Jenny Turknett says: 19/01/2021 at Absolutely love my meat thermometer! I am not sure how entirely accurate it is (meats been a bit pink at times) but I think that is more an issue with Google (providing incorrect temperatures etc) than the thermometer. It us lightweight and really nice to look at. Looks nice in my kitchen. Easy to use. Not a bad thing to say! Anonymous says: 19/01/2021 at Brought this as we suspected our oven was on the blink over Christmas, turns out it was as the joints were not cooked correctly. Since replacing the cooker we have found that we are still using the thermometer, it’s easy to clean and simple to use. Cant really fault it. Beverlys Secret says: 16/01/2021 at Works OK. Only drawback with this is the lack of instructions, a small chart showing cooked temperatures for different products would be helpful. Anonymous says: 31/12/2020 at Bought this for checking temperature making baby bottles ( we done it old style , didn’t use the bottle maker machine , because advised not to by health visitor ) . Very easy to use and you get accurate reading in blink of an eye. Do recomend of any task at home where you need to check temperature. Wife uses it for cooking , and her feedback on it is good too. Good thing to have in the kitche ShanonY44lye says: 30/12/2020 at Used it on Christmas Day to check the turkey was done. Didn’t get food poisoning. Success! Anonymous says: 30/12/2020 at You have to wait a few seconds for the reading to stabilize, but has been an irreplaceable addition in my kitchen toolkit. Wouldn’t be without it. Anonymous says: 25/12/2020 at What a delightful kitchen tool that I’ve only now discovered. Christmas turkey was perfect, thanks to this little piece of magic! Easy to use, accurate and will not be without it ever… Anonymous says: 21/12/2020 at EDIT! I have updated my review as my previous review was negative. I had obviously received a faulty product and on seeing my review My iTronics got in touch immediately. On hearing the problem they replaced the thermometer promptly and I now have a fully functional meat thermometer, that looks good too. Thank you My iTronics. Anonymous says: 16/12/2020 at Excellent and easy to use. On/off button and Celsius or Farenheit button, that’s all you need in my opinion. Appears good quality and reads quickly. Comes with a sleeve to cover the probe too. Would recommend. Hilbert Hagedoorn says: 16/12/2020 at Used first time to cook a turkey on Christmas Day, gave great peace of mind and the turkey was cooked without going dry. Very impressed with the accuracy. Anonymous says: 11/12/2020 at Easy to use and seems to be accurate. As with most thermometers, you need to hold on place whilst reading settles into place, but that’s fine. ErnaMontefiore says: 08/12/2020 at The thermometer is very good and does the job well. The only issue would be that the screen fogs up a bit, very minor issue however as you can always see the reading still. Sometimes it doesn’t turn on/off when I press the button, have to re-press sometimes. Anonymous says: 05/12/2020 at Easy to use meat thermometer. Can have it show C or F at a touch of a button. Easy to clean and has a cover to protect it when not using. Very satisfied. CarlotaGibbs says: 24/11/2020 at Very quick instant temperature, with no lag. You put it on something hot, and it updates in less than a second. No lag like there is with other sensors Mike Colucci says: 21/11/2020 at This is the second one I’ve purchased (this one is a gift); I’m happy with the quality, ease of use and digital display. You can select centigrade or fahrenheit on the back, simply insert the end into your food and hey presto. I find I use it mainly for meat, it prevents you from over cooking. The thermometer inserts into a sleeve giving the appearance of a pen and you can clip it onto your apron etc. as you wood a pen. Very useful to have. KattieCisneros says: 20/11/2020 at It’s a superb thermometer which I have even accidently dropped into 25L buckets of water dozens of times and it still hasn’t broke. When it breaks (due to my misuse) I won’t buy this model again but rather invest into the same brands higher end certified water resistant models. Use it for aquarium water changes. VicenteCunneen says: 20/11/2020 at Used for checking food cooked to correct temperature. Love it. Easy to use and so compact for storage. Delivery was very speedy Jill Fehrenbacher says: 16/11/2020 at Chosen for its long probe (5.3″/13.4cm), probe protective sleeve, and sturdiness, I bought this for testing pizza dough and for other baking. The instructions come in two little booklets covering several languages, English and French in one booklet, and are very clear. It’s easy to use and was very successful from the first time – made a big difference to the success of my dough. The temperature shows quickly, it’s easy to clean the probe and the keyring attached means it can hang conveniently. Early days yet so I can’t comment on the battery life but have checked the compartment is easy to open and the button battery (LR44/AG13) easy to get in and out. AlejandraBeatty says: 11/11/2020 at It does what it is supposed to do, record the temperature. Switch it on, stick it in the food and it works, responds fairly quickly. Anonymous says: 17/10/2020 at Seems 2 be accurate. Temp registered for medium/rare steak resulted in that. Same for a spatchcock chicken. Anonymous says: 19/09/2020 at This is a probe thermometer to check the internal temperature of food (especially meat/chicken) when cooking. The meat/food should be removed from the oven/heat source and returned to it if the internal temperature of the food is below that specified. The thermometer is not designed to be left in a pan of hot oil/liquid or left in the oven whilst cooking. I use this especially when cooking chicken as I tend to overcook it and this thermometer has enabled me to get more succulent results. Simply insert the probe into the thickest part of meat. If the internal temperature is 74-75 degree C (for chicken) then it is safely cooked. After use I just gently wipe the probe end with the washing up pad and wipe it dry. Do not immerse the whole thermometer into water. The thermometer fits neatly into the (pen) holder that you can clip onto your chefs apron, as you will have now entered into the realm of cookery bliss. Anonymous says: 09/09/2020 at Brilliant its great to know for sure your bbq food is properly cooked a great little thermometer very pleased Anonymous says: 29/08/2020 at I used this for jam making and it worked fine. I haven’t tried using it for anything else yet. Anonymous says: 29/08/2020 at As my old Thermometer stopped working I decided to replace it, so glad I did as this one is much neater and easier to use, I now have this one hung up near to the cooker as it’s so light, great item, great price & service, highly recommended Thermometer. Anonymous says: 26/08/2020 at Very easy to use. One issue is that because it’s a straight thermometer, it can actually be difficult to read sometimes, I would recommend one that allows for the probe to move. Allows for both F and C which is useful. Seems fairly accurate. Careful when washing as product is not waterproof but I have dipped it in water and it recovered just fine so seems to be build quite well. tyler.king says: 15/08/2020 at I decided to update my traditional jam thermometer. This appears to be accurate as the jam set perfectly. The only slight downside is that with a large jam pan at full boil, the stem of the thermometer is quite short and poses a potential risk of burns from splashes. I have also used the thermometer to measure the water in the fish tank when doing a water change. It was easy and I presume accurate! The fish are still alive! By Joseph Myers says: 07/08/2020 at Of course no way of checking that it is accurate but at least it let me measure the temperature of the tap water which I needed for a case against the developer. Afterwards used it to measure meat as well and it made sure my lamb chops came out great from the grill! Anonymous says: 31/07/2020 at It seems to be as accurate as one would expect, is easy to use, a useful tool. Anonymous says: 15/07/2020 at Used for heating oil on the hob to correct temperature. Does the job ok – no more guessing… or burned doughnuts ChanaYjelad says: 14/07/2020 at You have nothing to go on but trust that it is calibrated. I have no way to check. But the food is right, so as that is what I bought it for. Result. Would recommend Anonymous says: 12/07/2020 at I can’t say I dislike anything about this thermometer, it is extremely simple to use and has proven to be very useful in helping to produce perfectly cooked steaks. With a quick internet search I found a handy chart indicating the temperature needed to cook a steak to medium and this thermometer gave an accurate readout to produce just what I desired. I can’t see me cooking a steak without it in the future, I’m not a professional cook so for under 10 it takes all the guess work away, and the potential of over cooking a pricey bit of meat. I’m awaiting the delivery of an outdoor grill and this thermometer will be with me when I’m cooking, especially when cooking chicken. I would recommend this thermometer. Kanika Mehta says: 09/07/2020 at This has saved me from so many baking and frying disasters. Bread is ready at 190F and as I am new to baking, this is a great help. I just stick it in the middle of the bread and it is always 100% right! For frying, this has been great, most things fry evenly at a certain temperature, so this has saved me from burning many foods. Well made, lightweight and gives temp in F and C as well. Anonymous says: 06/07/2020 at Having seen many people rave about using a thermometer when cooking, I felt it was about time I investing in one. After looking around I opted for this ThermoPro one and I’m glad I did! The probe is very straightforward to use and can measure both in Celsius and Fahrenheit. You turn it on using the power button then check the meat (or whatever you’re using it for) whilst it’s cooking. I researched the perfect meat temperatures so that’s helped with this and so far it hasn’t let me down. I’ve had BBQs in the past where we’ve over cooked the chicken but couldn’t tell but with this, everyone time it has been spot on. It works well inside the house whether on the cooker or oven. We’ve even used it for checking temperatures for baby milk (which all parents will appreciate late in the evenings!). Also, not all thermometers come with a casing so that’s been quite handy when putting it away so it remains clean. After seeing me use it my brother was very impressed and I ended up buying a second one for him. Anonymous says: 22/06/2020 at I’m very happy with this thermometer. Easy to use. Accurate. Easy to read. No complaints. Anonymous says: 22/06/2020 at My old thermometer had broken and I decided on this, very happy, small easy to store and use. So simple and accurate and chicken on the BBQ has been great and we are still alive!!! Great product, would recommend. Anonymous says: 20/06/2020 at It’s brilliant, so easy to use, so pleased that we ordered family one as well xx Anonymous says: 26/05/2020 at Does what it is meant to do. Meat thermometer which includes Fahrenheit or Celsius. The only thing I miss from my previous thermometer is the label telling you the correct temperature for different meats. Jon Skillings says: 06/05/2020 at Bought this for my husband as he loves cooking big joints of meat. He loves it and says it reads really quickly and easily. Anonymous says: 21/04/2020 at Wanted for testing heat on joints of meat and also baking (i.e. heating sugars/chocolate). Worked perfectly, and was really easy to use. Don’t know why I didn’t get one sooner. Very versatile and also small so doesn’t take up much space to store. JudithMUAuwu says: 19/04/2020 at Great value and great bit of kitchen kit. Auto switch off brilliant too. Would recommend. Anonymous says: 30/03/2020 at Better than some of the others out there. In a protective tube with some basics for thicko’s like me. Worth the dosh. Simon Anderson says: 27/03/2020 at Well priced and easy to use fast delivery only had it a few days but working fine. Anonymous says: 28/02/2020 at I love this product. The screen is easy to read and once it finds the temperature it stays fixed. Cooked a large chicken, checked it, and as per my temp chart needed one more degree (chef recommendation). I cooked for another few minutes and it was perfect (after 10 mins resting). Easily switch between Fahrenheit or centigrade, whichever you prefer. Buttons on the back. Easy to clean – wash the probe and obviously keep digital housing dry. Battery included. Metal probe comes with holder. My only criticism is unfortunately doesn’t come with a temperature chart. I luckily kept the chart from my previous temperature gauge. This is a replacement and a different model, and much better to be honest. Highly recommended. Anonymous says: 14/02/2020 at Absolutely perfect for what we need. I’ve worked in a professional kitchen so have no issues with it, but my partner has not and he finds it just as simple and easy. Calibrated it with boiling and freezing water and it reads accurately. Would recommend Anonymous says: 30/01/2020 at Does “exactly what it says on the tin”. Remove from protective holder, Switch it on and insert at various points in your meat joint or poultry to check uniform cooking temperatures. Ionut Ilascu says: 29/01/2020 at This is really good for checking the temperature of the inside of a loaf of fresh bread or for deep cakes, it also helps with cakes as it acts as a skewer to see if the middle is still wet. Easy to read and works very well, the protective sleeve is very handy as it has a clip to attach to a shirt pocket or a page in a recipe book. Validee says: 27/01/2020 at Bought to test the temperature of water for baking bread in a bread maker. Getting much better results now. Will also come in handy for checking the inside temperature of meat etc. Very easy to use and clear readings. Comes in a protective case with a belt/pocket clip. PamPerduehs says: 21/01/2020 at On receiving the digital thermometer, the first thing that struck myself was the box.If a company goes to the length of providing a quality box, then (from experience) the item inside should be of quality! Perfect thermometer, really easy to use/read and and comes with a robust protective sleeve. The simplest designs create the best experience! Highly recommend the product to anyone and doesn’t break the bank! Anonymous says: 12/01/2020 at So easy to use and simple to read, no fuss or bother just does the job it’s meant to. Perfect. Anonymous says: 10/01/2020 at Bought this for our Christmas turkey – so it was a last-minute stocking filler for my wife (who didn’t mind a bit because she had long wanted one). We used to have a thermometer that plugged into the oven itself, but new oven does not have that facility, and our old analogue thermometer is a little clunky. This one worked perfectly and our turkey was a delight on Christmas Day EarnestHTKZ says: 06/01/2020 at This is a great meat thermometer for those on a budget. Exactly what I was looking for. Anonymous says: 16/12/2019 at So I liked how easy it was to use, and how quickly it measured the temperature. It does take a few seconds to get to a steady temperature but it’s nothing major. One thing I will mention is that the unit itself really can’t take much moisture from the air as a few weeks after using it, the screen has got a bit of condensation. But the probe isnt rusty or anything. Good price too! Anonymous says: 11/12/2019 at All of the stars apply. Simple to use, and accurate when tried against other digital thermostats, heating and one on a carbon monoxide detector with a built in thermomete MaxwellFDIE says: 22/11/2019 at its a present for aspiring cook – it’ll help checking food is cooked through to correct temp- and particularily useful when making jam or other preserves – giving confidence in final consistency RobertoYpl says: 07/11/2019 at Fantastic gadget. Husband wanted one for years, and I finally got round to buying him one. We use it every day, and hasnt failed us yet. The battery has lasted some time now and not needed to replace. The only con I have is that it isnt water tight, water can enter the screen. And takes sometime to dry out. I would suggest also purchasing some temp probe wipes to keep it clea NoeliaTempleton says: 29/10/2019 at Love it it’s so easy and made my cooking life more easier. I use to check the temperature of the inside of chicken without needing to open it now I know the temperature and comes out cooked perfectly. Amy @ Oh So Savvy Mom says: 21/10/2019 at I’ve given this 5 stars for everything as it was bought as a gift so I’m not sure on how it functions. vga2014 says: 13/10/2019 at brilliant food thermometer, can’t fault it, accurate and easy to read. Anonymous says: 13/10/2019 at great buy, no more over cooked meat. really glad I bought this thermometer. would recommend Anonymous says: 08/10/2019 at I bought this digital thermometer as the traditional thermometer I already have is very pretty but I don’t find it accurate. My first task was tempering chocolate which has always been really difficult with my old traditional thermometer. I have to say it did the task brilliantly. I was able to monitor with ease the incase in temperature and extremely accurately. Also while the chocolate was melting I could monitor where there were cold spots to make sure to it was well mixed. Excellent for the money. Anonymous says: 01/10/2019 at Happy with my purchase. Seems accurate enough for my use, does what I want it to do. Anonymous says: 06/09/2019 at bought this to replace a bog standard one i had previously nd founf this to be much better. AddieBlankenshi says: 31/08/2019 at Looks as if it will be an excellent purchase. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was the fact that it looks as if will be ideal for my requirements, ( Jam Making etc ) but have not used it yet. The service and quality was good and look forward to trying it out. Jen Wike says: 15/08/2019 at I bought this to use when barbecuing to take away the guesswork and it works very well. I have served up lots of chicken all cooked well but without burning as I now know when its done. CelinaDeeter says: 18/06/2019 at Easy to use. The probe has a protective tube when not being used. Feels of solid construction. Gives me confidence that the meat on the BBQ is cooked. I find it too easy to overcook the meat just to be sure it is safe to eat. No more burnt dry meat hopefully. EddieClowes says: 07/06/2019 at Working as a professional chef, this probe is so practical and a definite for the knife kit, been using it the past week or so now and it’s brilliant, only difficulty is turning it on/off but it’s no issue when it reads the temp within a few seconds rather than 30/45seconds like other probes, the design is slim enough to fit in your back pocket or to be stuck by a label on the pass definitely will buy another if I need to, look no further for a probe Rory Reid says: 13/05/2019 at Great now had time to use it. Easy to use and good to clean. Can’t wait to use again. Anyone out there trying to bake Gluten free bread would love this thanks. CS AshleeQweoole says: 27/04/2019 at Well having tried various medical and baby bath thermometers to no avail, i thought why not try cooking monitoring equipment and have to say what a great result. The TP-02S is practical and accurate, with a simple readout and quick response. My only issues are the readout is somewhat smaller than i’d like as my eyesight aint good and the on/off switch is really not in the best position to use whilst holding the device. Other than that, the important thing is i dont scald myself when bathing… =~,#= yay result 🙂 kind regards Holly JewellPorteous says: 14/04/2019 at Good meat thermometer. Easy to use, read and to keep clean. Fairly priced, would recommend. Anonymous says: 31/03/2019 at A handy device that is well priced and far better than older dial reading types that take a time to register the temp. so that food is out of the oven for the minimum time. Accuracy appears to be very good, happy to recommend this produc FletaVVXrmht says: 01/03/2019 at Good to check if a joint of meat is thoroughly cooked trough. Neat thermometer and a slip in case to keep it clean and safe. Anonymous says: 21/02/2019 at I bought this as I needed a temp gauge for water when using my breadmaker. It works perfectly. I have also used it since for testing temp for setting marmalade. It’s great, easy to use and I would recommend. PLoSNTDs says: 21/02/2019 at I bought this on a whim while browsing Amazon, I’ve always been a student of the “It looks about done, see if the juices run clear” school of cooking; but decided to give a meat thermometer a try, this product fits the bill perfectly, and for a very reasonable price as well. I tested the accuracy with some boiling water and some icewater, and both of them returned the expected temperatures with very little variance; and with an impressively fast read time, no more than 4-5 seconds. Overall, 5 stars; definitely a product worth buying and including in any home cook’s kitchen, especially if you’re not quite ready to drop the big money for a big name brand product. Viet Do says: 19/02/2019 at Needed a thermometer to gain the correct temp for dissolving yeast in water. It works perfectly and a great price. Would recommend to anyone. Anonymous says: 08/02/2019 at Loved this. Easy to use. Always wondering if my meat was properly cooked. I used this Sunday with easy and was.happy knowing my meat was cooked to perfectio Anonymous says: 14/01/2019 at It does the job in a wide variety of cooking situations. It is compact, easily cleaned. Will suite a wide variety of cooking needs, liquides and solids. Most useful. IndiaMcKinlay says: 03/01/2019 at I bought this digital cooking thermometer as my previous analogue one was damaged beyond repair. I bought it because of the good reviews and the reasonable price and I’m very happy with it. I would have given it 5 stars but nowhere in the instructions does it give you any guideline temperatures for cooking various meats as my analogue one did. Anonymous says: 25/12/2018 at For the price this thermo pen does the job and it’s easy to use. I dropped a star because the body of the probe doesn’t feel like good quality (creaky plastic). The pen itself takes a few seconds to settle on the temperature (some times 5 to 10 seconds) which doesn’t sound like a long time but when you have the oven open and a joint out to check the temp it feels like an age! Overall I stuck with 4 stars because the profrssional instant read thermo pens are much more expensive. Probably worth thinking about your requirements and if this is an important feature for you. BernardMHT says: 19/12/2018 at very fast delivery, very easy to use I just wish there was a list of temperatures for different meats with it. nnppiiyy says: 08/10/2018 at I’ve used this thermometer for tempering chocolate, and it gave very accurate readings – the chocolate came out very well-tempered, smooth, exactly as it should be. When first turned on, the thermometer does take about 5 seconds to read the temperature (you can watch the displayed temperature rise up gradually), but if submerged in the food and turned on the entire time, it updates a lot faster. Also, when it turned off after 10 minutes of inactivity and I turned it on again, it picked up right where it left off (there wasn’t the five-second waiting time again). Anonymous says: 20/06/2018 at I bought this as I have trouble getting the water temperature right when making bread, in my bread machine. No more problems and is straight forward to use. ChristineBoatma says: 21/04/2018 at Really please with this. It does what is says. Measure the temperature of your meat etc. It is easy to wipe clean and store, doesn’t weigh very much either. I have checked the temperature against other gauges and it is very accurate. Would recommend. noreply@blogger.com Pete Larson says: 30/03/2018 at This is a simple, effective kitchen temperature probe with a handy ring, to tie on some string if required. The sleeve is practical. The on/off switch, and Fahrenheit/Centigrade switch are on the reverse, and easy to use. I found it to be accurate, and not too slow. This isn’t going to register the final temperatures as quickly as the top brands’ kitchen probes, but at a fraction of their cost it’s an excellent option for those who don’t need that swiftness. I found it handles bread baking, green tea, and meat temperature taking without issue. Follow the instructions about cleaning, and avoid getting water into the top part, and it should be easy to maintain. It is very lightweight, so do be careful about accidentally knocking it off counters, and treat with a little care. As a bonus, it is not impregnated with antibacterial compounds – many kitchen probes are – a relief to those who are allergic/sensitive, and/or concerned about the potential for bacterial resistance. VanessaKirtley says: 26/03/2018 at Seems to be very accurate (checked against boiling water) and well made. I have had other similar items, including ones that have been much more expensive but this seems to be well made and excellent value. Make sure you put the probe into the right end of the protective storage cover or it will drop off 🙁 (It took me ages to work this out, no lateral thinking). A ring on the end of the thermometer allows it to be hung on a hook for storage – much better than rummaging in a drawer for it. Easy to turn on and off and to switch between deg F and C. Would certainly buy again. Anonymous says: 16/02/2018 at Happy with this product…haven’t used it properly yet as I bought for future functions we are putting on. However I tested it out at home to see how easy it was to use and it seems fine. On the photo I wondered if the clip on the black case was so that you could clip the thing on to the edge of a pot etc but I don’t think so – seems just to be a storage case Anonymous says: 06/01/2018 at Excellent kitchen probe, long enough stem to rest on the side of a pan and slim enough to probe food easily, sturdy light weight design with basic functions (we find hold and min/max buttons unnecessary clutter) with secure battery compartment cover , we now have 4 in use and will definitely purchase more when required RamonSxjttunstn says: 31/12/2017 at Excellent piece of kit for pennies….I’ve used it several times now and it’s robust, accurate and has a five year return to seller quarantee, what’s not to like! I have only used it twice so far but I am very happy with my purchase Dash says: 27/07/2017 at I needed a replacement for my dead, tatty-from-new temperature probe which was badly designed and built and not a nice thing to use and finally failed when one of its battery contacts broke off on its first battery change. I’m glad I spent some time searching for and finding the ThermoPro! It looked pleasing on paper, er, sorry, on the computer screen. It is well thought out and seems just right, with only ‘on/off’ and ‘DegC/degF’ buttons which feel right in use, and no unnecessary other fiddly bits. The temperature readout is in much bigger letters that the old one was, and a good looking readout, which is definitely a plus point. Well made, genuinely instant-reading, oh, and I nearly forgot to say, most importantly it’s accurate! A good buy. Thank you ThermoPro! Anonymous says: 27/07/2017 at If you want to improve your cooking then I strongly suggest that you buy a cooking thermometer as no matter how long you have been cooking (and believe me I have been cooking a LONG time lol) you will find that you no longer over-cook meat, especially chicken, so that now the end dish ends up both safe but in no way dried out. It is invaluable for both poultry cooking and for checking the interior temperature of such dishes as pies. This is the second Cooking Thermometer that I have owned and this one is by far superior. The last one I had took three times as long to register the temperature which is an important consideration in lots of ways, not least that you are therefore holding your hand over a heat source for less time the quicker it works. It also has a longer probe than my previous thermometer and, unlike most of the other thermometers, this one has a flat back which means that it does not roll over when placed on the counter top. The only concern I had when it turned up was that the instructions said that the battery should be either inserted or replaced. As there was a battery already inserted I am not sure how long it will last but they are not expensive to replace. In fact I would advise everyone to keep a spare battery if possible, as although they tend to last a long time, you will come to rely on this kitchen tool and the rule of life is that the battery will always fail on the one night you absolutely need it not to !!
