Speeds up cooking yet stews and casseroles are as tender as if they’ve been cooked overnight in a slow cooker. 30 minutes to put a warming stew on the table.
A cook book would be great but we bought one instead.

It saves you a lot of time, and the gas consumption. Highly recommend i

Great pan, nice and big for family meals and good for energy saving as you reduce cooking time by half in some instances even more. Instructions are vague though so if you have never used a pressure cooker before I suggest looking up a YouTube clip or something to familiarise yourself firs

This is so easy to use and very quiet (apart from releasing the steam), food cooks quickly and to perfection. I would recommend this pressure cooker if you’re looking to buy one.

This is a stovetop pressure cooker and can be used on either gas or electric hobs it’s very large 6L so great for large family meals or even guests it’s also incredibly easy to use and has level marking for guidance.
it has a long handle and a locking lid which feels incredibly secure not like my mums old dodgy one in the eighties.
the steam release and pressure indicator are easy to work out and this is so much simpler than my PKP and gives the same tasty results.
if you’ve never used a pressure cooker before can totally recommend it definitely reduces your kitchen time without losing out on flavour.

I had been hankering after a pressure cooker for some time as my folks always used one for faster cooking for certain joints of meat or making steamed puddings back in my childhood.

This Tower unit comes from a reputable brand (the same brand as my mother’s from yester-year in fact) and features a useful 6 litre capacity, locking lid with pressure indicator, and the long-handle-plus-D-handle combination that makes it both useful for moving around on the hob as well as picking up and placing down in a secure and assured fashion.

The twist mechanism for closing and opening the lid is a little stiff to begin with, but you get used to it, and it feels more sturdy than the old fashioned kind. I also appreciate that you don’t have that old-fashioned top valve that you had to be wary of for releasing steam pressure.

There are water level markings on the inner wall which is handy for getting a rough consistency of filling level.

I’ve only used it twice so far, once to cook a joint of meat and once to make a bolognese sauce and it performed flawlessly on both occasions and I had never really appreciated the time saving that this approach affords you. I have an induction hob so it is all-the-more rapid by being able to get it up to temperature quickly and efficiently. The base hasn’t warped from the power of my hob either, which is always something I’m wary of with new pans.

It is quite a pricey item, but if you have already considered all the benefits and uses of such an item, you’ll soon realise that these things can be a great addition to a busy household. Note that you shouldn’t ever really leave a manual pressure cooker unattended as you have to monitor for excess steam and react accordingly, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll never go back.

A vast improvement over the old-fashioned style, with good capacity and visual indicato

Very good pressure cooker , reduce the cooking time with 60% , works well on an electric hob . The pot is very sturdy and well made , easy to wash ( I only washed by hand , never at the dishwasher) very pleased with this item.

Best pressure cooker yet and I have had several. It works excellently on an induction hob and no need to carefully move it around the cooker hob to get a good contact point like my previous one. Cuts cooking times by around 60-70% and the quality is excellent.

I love that it does not seem to get burnt or blackened as well and I have used mine numerous times already. Good price for the purpose.
Overall, Great product design and quality perfect for a large family to cook meals in.The bottom is heavy and holds onto heat and it cleans up nice.

This 6 liter pressure cooker is huge, having the capacity to feed a big family gathering.

Cooking has been made a lot easier and faster for me. I’m thankful that I found this cooker during lockdown so I can practice and experiment my cooking before the family gathering.
Making tradition, tasty food has been tremendous. Just simple things like boiling potatoes or pasta can be done within half the time than I usually did.

Cooking faster helps me be more efficient with saving energy and that makes everyone happy.

I’m glad that this cooker is stainless, so I can be stress free with some of the mess I make in the kitchen.

I believe the price is high, but then looking at my bill or energy usage, I guess I’m more of a benefit than a loss.
There is high investment to begin with but then this strong quality pressure cooker works more efficiently than other cooking gadgets at home.

I’m fairly new to using a pressure cooker as I have always been put off by the old style cookers and lots of hot steam. As I’m pretty good a burning myself on a normal pan I was very interested to put these safety features to the test. The pan itself is pretty big. 6 litres is more than enough for most family’s and makes it pretty versatile for different dishes. It also comes with a metal tray from steaming food.

The lid twists on and locks in place, it takes a bit of getting used to but forms a strong seal. The lid has an easy to use steam control system with release and pressure indicator to show when it’s reached pressure. There is a twisting dial to choose between steaming and 2 pressure levels. There are handles on the lid and pan which interlocking and good for moving it around. The handles stay cool whilst in use.

The pan heats up and reaches pressure very quickly and cuts cooking time in half or more. I have found it really locks in flavour which is the benefit of this system as it can stop the flavours from evaporating off. I personally wash these pans by hand because it prolongs the life usually, although the bottom of the pan does state not for the dish washer so worth considering!

Overall this is a great product which works well and I expect will last a long time.

Hopefully my review has been helpful.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI used to have a stove top pressure cooker in stainless steel like this Tower Express Pressure Cooker, however, that’s where the comparison ends, this pressure cooker has some great improvements from my 1980s one. The handle is made of stay cool Bakelite and has a great locking system that slides the top over the base with a lock in between then a blue switch that click locks on top. The pressure part doesn’t have dodgy weights either, a clever weighted steam system with an easy adjustable steam release vent on top. There’s also a red pressure indicator valve which pops up when the pressure has reached. There’s a steaming level and 2 levels of pressure weight for different foods. The pressure cooker pan is all shiny stainless steel, holds 6 litres so plenty big enough for most things and families. I really like the second handle too for carrying once the pressure is down and the lid is off. (Don’t ever attempt to pick up the pressure cooker with the pressure still within the pan, it’s highly dangerous). I was surprised how quick the cooker took to reach the pressure, and a little surprised it does let out excess steam during cooking, unlike my electrical pressure cooker. It’s got a very good user instructions with recipe ideas too. I cooked a joint of gammon in it today, it took 30 minutes (rather than 2 hours in the oven) and it was much nicer than when I cook one in the electrical pressure cooker, tender, moist and full of flavour, even my son said how nice it was.
The pressure cooker comes with a handled trivet and stand, though I found when I lifted out the gammon the trivet tipped to 1 side as the handle moved. My other concern is the base of the pan says ‘do not put it in the dishwasher’ the instructions say the main pan can be dishwashed but everything else can’t. That’s a bit of a disappointment for me hence I’m knocking off a star, but I’m giving 4 stars as it’s easy to use, well made and safe. It also comes with a years guarantee plus a free extension to a whopping 10 years when you register your pressure cooker with Tower.

Please see my photos, I hope my review has been helpful to you and hopefully reassured you stove top pressure cookers are much safer and easier use than their predecessors, I was always a little scared of my old one but not this one it’s much better all round.

Much Safer And Quicker Than The Old Stove Top Pressure Cookers
