Was so excited for arrival of the new bbq we had been looking at for a while decided to buy one but after unpacking and putting together the front plate is scratched and also chipped .. really disappointed considering the price . Hopefully this will be resolved as I’m not happy at all as this was bought as a gif
Where most cheaper bbqs has a external handle fitted to hoist the roster up and down this one does not.
If your coals are to hot or to cold you have to lift the roster by hand. The 2 handles they provide on the roster are obbiously flaming hot and so you will need gloves uo to your elbows and mind your eyebrows burning off.
Not to mention the hoisting action. Its rubbish and dangerous.
I can see a couple of blokes who had 1 too many ending up in a&e eith 2nd degree burns.
It would nit have been such a big disapointment if the rest if the bbq was as poor.
I took arvantage of the free assembly. The guys did a excellant job.
It’s massive! Looks very impressive.
I love that it cooks with gas and/or charcoal – I prefer the reliability of gas but have family members who believe a ‘real’ bbq has to be charcoal. End of arguments, everyone is happy 🙂
Haven’t tried the smoker yet, we bought this in September just as summer ended.
Can’t wait for next summer to really get this bbq working!
Great BBQ smoker can be used as grill as well. It would be better if the two layers could be taken on and off separately plus the air intake could be a bit better but all in all it gets the job done and cooks beautifully.
The paint and stainless grills are good quality. Big enough to cook 4 whole chickens at once, with room for some corn in-between. Easy to control heat with the vents
I did have to make a few changes to it including applying a fire proof sealant around the door to stop air flow where it shouldn’t be.
Plus because the air intake at the bottom is not visible I marked at what points the arm for this is open and closed.
I also drilled holes and installed rubber grommets to run my temp probe cables through.
I have found that the snake method with brickets works best for nice low and slow controlled smokes.
Although every smoke is a new learning curve I have managed to make some great cooks from meats to veg and even smoked brownies
Instructions pretty poor – 2 exploded views in manual shows grilling plates taking different positioning order but the one with handles likely for upper shelf to allow removal to access lower (would be my guess) .
Manual actually says the one with handles is the “lower” grill but is numbered as upper on the second view. You can download manual for the product here and see. Video seems to use 2 x grill plates with handles……
Doesn’t clarify if you can put coal pit on the upper shelf for grilling, which is exactly what I did and it would have been impossible for those flames to be visible that high in the video if not.
Lid a bit of a pain to get on, would have done with a small taper. Front door a bit gappy too.
Overall a really nice smoker /grill.
his is my first time using a smoker. it easy to assemble and use. i have had some excellent results . it is a well made ease to use
Used the grill twice and it performed really well. This grill is easy to clean with a little more challenges under to fire trays and cleaning out to fire trays. Managed to clean reasonably well and will be ready for next time with worry of contamination.
A great all singing and dancing product sold at a very good price on Amazon . Excellent customer service from tower , when I contacted them to ask about missing regulator and hose , which was sent out the next day .
We’re very happy with this purchase, it’s a fantastic BBQ. Used it a few times now, and it was always a successful result, food cooks evenly and quickly. Even the design matches our BBQ shelter The only negative side is the assembly. My husband has lots of tools, so we managed in about 2 hours, but if you’re not an experienced person with assembling stuff, I suggest paying a lot of attention to the guide as it’s not too easy to figure out. Ordered this as we had been using one gifted to us last year and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice one. It arrived quickly. Left the husband too assemble it and it did take him longer than expected as some of the holes didn’t quite line up. However once assembled it is very sturdy. Quality is nice and it is a lot bigger than we expected. We had hoped to test it our during the nice weather last week, sadly we couldn’t find any charcoal.
Have used it to smoke brisket, pork ribs and gammon at Christmas. Kept its temp at around 225-250 for easily 7-9 hrs with charcoal and wood chunks. Really impressed.
Pleased with my purchase and now gets lots of use when weather permitting.
Everything about this item is fantastic. I did not believe the price and thought it may be a gimmick. It’s worth every penny and more. Great purchase.
Smokes and grills fantastic
Very easy to use and clean. Brilliant purchase
Still putting the product together but whilst unpacking we found the base shelf was bent in one corner. It’s quite sturdy so a fair amount of effort would be needed to bend this. We have corrected this now but maybe more care needed in the future.
Brilliant barbecue, easy to assemble, handy little pot to put all of your ash into. Definitely value for money!
