Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Should be used with a 1/2″ shank router, however I used my 1/4″ trim router with a plunge base and it did ok.
Loses a star for not having a pouch/bag to keep the screws and bars in. In time will have to likely use new screws unless the battens are kept in pristine condition.
Would be great with removable steel battens, as wooden ones that are perfectly flat and level are required, but at this price point it’s not going to happen!
Brilliant bit of kit, let’s you make an accurate and time saving sled router flattening jig for levelling slab wood.
As others have noted, it is very little kit for the money. You do have to be careful when fitting the rails to your timber, but the manual gives a good technique for doing that (RTFM!) and I got them aligned pretty well. It is high quality, easy to use once assembled, and the end-product was excellent. So in all I’m very glad I bought it.
It is great for some jobs but as soon as you need to join the second set of rails up to work on a larger piece you’ll find that you hit a hard “stop” as you move along.
For the money this should come with a single long rail each side and on a mount; preferably a height adjustable one.
Trend have unfortunately put a (surely) vast profit on this item, rather than producing a value for money piece of kit that does the job properly. A real shame, as I try to buy a Trend item before other brands because of the feneral reliability of their products. I consider this to be 50 (maximum) item.

I had issue with the track, Trend sent out spares and with a little customising got it to work just but perfect through.
The system would be a lot better if the tracks were 1m long rather than 500mm and having to try to get them to line up.

I have used this jig several times now. You get a good finish and most importantly flat.you will have to make a jig to fix to.The better you make the jig the better the results. Once made all will be revealed.
