Working with Xbox Series standard xbox controller or with xbox elite series 2. Voice controls and volume adjustments are great same as mute button. Impresive “superhuman hearing” which adjust all sound around making it great for call of duty or other shooters.
Got this for my son to use with his Xbox one controller which does not have the 3.5mm port, thanks to this adapter he can now use his headset to start talking with his friends when playing games.
There is a number of settings also on the adapter to be able to change such as the game and mic pre-sets along with the super human hearing mode.
Overall my son has no issues with this and I would recommend it.
I somehow lost my original Xbos one so was desperate for a new one as the standard headphone jack is not loud enough. This came on time, plugs in perfectly (difficult to take out though) and works perfectly for a fraction of the cos
Awesome little adapter-thingy, it has a few different presets like bass boost, everything boost and superhearing mode and has separate chat and game volumes for if you want to tweak just how loud your friends are compared to your gameplay
I love that it’s easy to use and not too technical and worked. Being a single mum, I know nothing of these things. Yet this was straight forward and easy. Love this.
Had to buy this as I spread bought headphones not knowing you also needed this gismo.
Great features on this and excellent enhanced boost button for in game sounds when used.
Easy to use and happy with the performance
I bought this in the hopes that it might resolve the issues I’ve had with Series X controller headset ports (namely – they are poorly mounted internally and over months can become loose resulting in intermittent audio). I was very happy to find that it done the job well. It uses the Xbox controller accessory port (not the 3.5mm headset port) to connect to the controller, so works well even if your headset port is faulty. The mute button brings parity with the PS5 controller (which has a built in mute button) and I like the ability to change the volume and game/chat mix without having to come out of a game to go to the Xbox overlay menu.
Overall, I am very impressed.
On balance I’m stuck between a “meh” 3-starts and a “pretty good” 4-stars…. Here’s why:
What I love about it:
It provides comms for any standard type Xbox controller, I’ve used it on original ones with no headset socket, and ones with the socket.
It has volume controls for overall volume and game/chat balance which makes it super convenient to adjust mid-game. That is a superb feature.
You have various sound quality setting at the press of a button, with a mix of bass and treble for example.
You can also adjust the mic sensitivity to cater for a ambient noise level in your room too, which is again a great feature.
What I’m not keen on:
The sound quality is quite hissy. You get a consistent hiss in the background no matter what you do. Other controllers I have don’t do that at all, only this device. It becomes a bit niggly after a few minutes in a game.
The “super human” thing (press the top centre button with the logo on it) and you get super wide stereo separation to give you very directional sound in game, which is sometimes a godsend when you need to hear where something is coming from…. but the sound quality of that setting isn’t great! It’s even more hissy and the tone has gone so tinny! I’ve found the stereo separation fine enough on ‘normal’ mode and use it on one of its non-superhuman settings. Also with the superhuman thing set on the chat audio sounds even worse than game audio under those conditions, which for me renders the superhuman thing a bit “no thanks” to be brutally honest about it.
So…. I’m torn between “meh” because of the overall sound qualities from this device, or “pretty good” considering it provides headset comms for original controllers AND the uber-convenient volume controls and other settings.
So I’ll put aside my gripe about the sound quality as overall this is a really good device. It’s enabled an original controller to have in game comms (actually my favourite one as it’s still working solid and as tightly responsive as the day it was bought) and it’s brought the audio controls straight to the fingertips making it a very useful device indeed.
So there we are, I gotta give it 4-stars then. It’s very good overall if not perfect, but then am I being too fussy about the sound quality? I guess that’s up to the user really. I have to admit you won’t be disappointed with it.
My son wanted this for christmas for his gaming. We have had zero complaints of him using it and its used daily since we recieved i
Brought this for my brother for Xmas, works just as good as the ones you’d get from game, no complaints here.
you need this for the xbox controler with most turtle beach headsets would highly recommend
Bought because the audio port on the official controller was playing up. The recipient loves it and can now connect the controller to the X Rocker with the 3.5mm audio cable.
This works well with the Turtle Beach Recon 70X, although I do not think that all of the features are being used yet.
No complaints yet, well worth the money.
I bought this adaptor because I originally had a Xbox adaptor but it was becoming a bit loose in my elite controller so I bought this one to replace it fits in snug as a bug in a rug easy to use fantastic quality of sound would buy agai
I brought a headset astro a40 trx and i found the mic monitering was poor also i couldnt hear peoples voices in game this has made it so much better to play i dont shout anymore and talking to my team im on x box series x
I just tried it for one day,
I bought to pair with Xbox series S controller, apparently no issues . I’m using it with steelseries arctis 1 Xbox edition.
Pros:
-Change volume and adjusting on the go.
-Preset audio, you can feel the difference.
-Sensitive mic presets and mic volume.
-it feels solid when plugged in.
– super human earing does the difference.
-voice feedback on propose, so you can ear yourself to control voice volume .
Cons:
-Buttons feeling it’s not the best.
-overal audio headset volume it’s lower than directly plug on controller(in my case, maybe it’s the headset already being good enough.).
-lack of led to show the profile it is(just beep sounds when press presets).
-it loses the hability to control volume on Xbox menus(it’s not a draw back for me, because if you displug the controller this option come again).
Things I didn’t have time to test it:
-Battery life changes( it could be not an issue for me, since I use 2600mah batteries who last about 1 week straight).
-durability( just one day use)
-mic quality ( haven’t tried to join a party with friends to test).
Resume:
It works with series S controller, maybe people is doing something wrong.
For 25 pounds worth buying.
If you need to change volume on the go , go for it.
But don’t expect that audio increase, I don’t know if it from my headset, but I didn’t feel so much difference, in fact I think overall volume it’s bit lower.
Works a treat sir, ye can hear the steps of them as them boys coming around the corner. Swore someone knocked the house door while they walked past it was that good.
Excellent would differently recommend this Happy shopper thanks stay safe and have Happy Halloween everyone
Good works well saves a lot of money to branded
Bought this as our sons headset sound stopped working. It worked on any other audio equipment. Tried this to see if it resolved the issue as it connects via the USB NOT the 3mm jack. Problem RESOLVED.
