Turtle Beach Headset Audio Controller Plus for – Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

As you can see in the video, the lights flash when the buttons are pressed. I’ve had this a couple months with frequent use and it’s working just as well as when I first bought it. I love how the green flashing button makes the sound louder, even when the volume has been turned up to the max. I also like how you can control both the game and chat volume as well as muting/unmuting your mic all from the adapter. The back of the adapter does come up the back of the controller but as you see it’s pretty flat so it’s not a bother while you’re playing

My nipper had broke the headphone jack socket on his xbox controller so bought this. It’s really good. Quality is better than standard jack, allows muting and volume control, whilst different settings add to different games. Would recommend.

This was just what was needed for a birthday present and good value too.

Didn’t think this was going to be as good as it is, absolutely amazing sound, you can hear enemy’s coming from miles away and when you press the super hearing button what a difference. Sounds like your in the game.

Having this plugged in line with your headset makes a real positive difference to the audio and game atmosphere.

Was a bit unsure if this was the right thing to buy at first, as I was only looking for an official Microsoft/Xbox audio controller. At the time, I couldn’t find one without paying out more than I needed to. After reading the reviews, I thought I’d give this a try and I’m glad I did. Great purchase, would highly recommend! Great audio quality, using this with my Astro A10 headset and have had no problems!

I was looking for something simple that would add mic monitoring (at least better than the integrated xbox setting) .
My headphones have such good noise cancelling that i can’t hear myself talk very clearly so i would find that i’d be shouting at my team mates. This was exactly what i was looking for and the mic monitoring is awesome.
One small thing is that the buttons are made of a different material to the xbox controller, so it feels a little odd when you need to really mash the controls on this thing to change any setting.
Edit – A month in the mute button has stopped working

Simple, plug in the controller, plug any headphone with Micro and that it. Easy to controle the volume of game, chat and have a button to put the micro off. I do not have any issue with quality sound as I read in previous comments.

Easy to set up, just plug it into the controller and use the supplied cable to plug controller into the Xbox to update it, once this was done the sound wouldn’t really work and I couldn’t hear anything, but then I pressed the ‘game preset’ button which worked perfectly, I could hear everything and speak to the game lobby no problems

This is a great little addition if you are looking to sue some awsome headphones like Razer krakens as with the Xbox you can’t use the thx use so using turtle beaches super human setting works amazing with it. Also make sure on your xbox setting you set it to windows sonic.

For the second time on my elite controller the audio jack broke (a bit of a common problem) . I wasn’t willing to fork out 120 for another controller so thought this would circumnavigate the problem. And it did. Headphones not only work but if anything sound better. I use a non turtle beach headset and it works with no issues. The audio controls are far more intuitive and useful on the fly than going through the settings screen each time. The sound quality is good and while I can’t 100% confirm the superhuman hearing feature works I have noticed a bit more clarity with gunfire and footsteps while playing pvp. Not sure I’d have spent the money had the jack not broken but glad I did. Now to write a more critical review on the elite controller.

This is a god send as for some reason the xbox one controllers originally didnt come with headphone plug in support. Now I can plug in my headphones and go shoot everyone and not disturb the neighbours. Plus has the wonderful superhuman hearing option that allows me to hear someones knee creaking when they try and sneak up behind you (well not exactly their knees but some advantages like that)

I have been using this for a while now, and I am very happy thus far.
The instructions say to connect to the controller and connect to Xbox via a USB cable to update the controller.
I did try this, but it did nothing.
I don’t think this is necessary, as the device worked regardless.
The sound is much louder and more immersive and the microphone becomes more sensitive.
I do use this with Turtle Beach headphones, I have also tried with other headphones and it works just as well.
Based on my experience with this item, I will be recommending the purchase.

Simply put, if you want to get the most out of your headset, Turtle Beach or not this is the adaptor you need. Many customisation options provide settings available for different environments whether it be noisy or quiet.

You have your standard chat mixer which is the same as the official Microsoft Stereo Adaptor providing different levels of volume and the level of in-game volume vs party chat volume along with your mute button. All works well and the audible beeps help knowing when your at one extreme or the other.

However where this product comes into it’s own for me is two particular features which the Microsoft adaptor is lacking – Microphone Monitoring and Microphone Cancelling.

I game in a room where my family are often watching TV or talking etc. As headsets these days provide great noise isolation from the outside world for environments like I described above it has become more and more difficult to actually hear what you are saying, something which when we talk is natural to hear. It can be really strange not hearing what you’re saying and generally you will get louder and even shout down your mic so you can hear yourself annoying others around you in the process. Yet the Turtle Beach adaptor has three levels of Mic Monitoring, feeding back what you say in to your headset. It’s crystal clear and is far superior to the in-build Mic Montoring if you was to plug your headset directly in to your controller. To change the settings keep hold of the mute button and you’ll hear the audible beeps from 1 to 3 for different levels of feedback you require.

Secondly if your gaming in a noisy environment the standard Microsoft adaptor will easily pick up on external noise regardless if your headset has a noise cancelling microphone. My friends often mentioned they can hear the TV programme my Wife was watching in the background. Now with the Turtle Beach adaptor you can again change the setting to three different levels, 1 being generally the same as the Microsoft adaptor which I never use. 2 being the best all rounder, cuts out the majority of background noise and will only pick up on high pitched noise such as sneezes, alarms etc and 3 where it will practically cuts out 95% of all background noise. I’ll only use that setting when it’s particular noisy in the room for whatever reason as sometimes it cancels noise that well it’ll miss the very beginning of my sentence if I’m too quiet.

One plus over other headset adaptor is the ability to have different game modes for the level of sound too. Extra bass, extra treble or both. Whilst it’s great to have the option there the difference isn’t massively different although you can tell. For FPS games the extra bass setting does give deeper and more dramatic explosions and to be honest I leave it in that setting.

Another feature the Turtle Beach headset adaptor provides is ‘Super Human Hearing’ which in essence is there to provide greater accuracy in critical in game moments where you really need to hear the direction of an enemy coming towards you for example. To me it’s a bit of a gimmick and all it does is cut bass and increase treble which is quite uncomfortable after a few minutes. I’m still undecided if it does give you any advantage and I rarely use it.

Overall for 25 it’s head and shoulders above the standard Microsoft adaptor and provides more features than the only other alternative in the Astro MixAmp. Without a doubt I’d recommend it.

Does exactly what it should and very well too. Very stiff to remove at 1st and the preset buttons on the front are easy to press by mistake but I love turtle beach products.
