Vacmaster Multi 20 PTO Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner – Lightweight Bagged & Bagless Home & Garage Vacuum – Multifunctional Dust Extractor with Blower Function & Multiple Filters, 20 Litre, 1250W, Power Take Off
Used on my bandsaw as an extractor because it fits underneath and don’t have space for something bigger, and occasional workshop clean up. the power take off is a great feature, powerful vacuum
I purchased this for some DIY, I’m used to using a festool set up (not mine) and didn’t want to spend that sort of money.. I tried it out yesterday just for vacuuming and I must say, I’m impressed with the suction, really good. I’ve not tried it with my power tools connected yet, but apart from it being a bit flimsy on the quality of the parts (pipes and fittings etc “you get what you pay for) a great bit of kit. Yeah I’d recommend this all day long ! So I’m updating as I have just used this with my power tools, and it’s great, has a double switch that responds to your tool and switches vac on and off as you switch your tool on and off. Yep I’m still impressed.
I decided to buy this based on reviews and needing a vacuum capable of dealing with a lot of mess caused by my pet birds. Most domestic vacuum cleaners I have bought get damaged by seed debris and struggle to pick up feathers/fur and usually stop working after as little as 4 months. This is robust and has strong suction and the long hose can get into areas as needed – great for cleaning stairs and dusting picture rails/curtain rails etc. It also picks up long dog hair and long human hair effectively.
The only negative is that the flex and accessories do not store together particularly tidily so you might want to hide it in a cupboard. For the price – definitely worth it!
Really useful for keeping the dust down while sanding, really like the synced vac function. Haven’t tried with water. Very light and portable, quite big to store.
I ordered this mainly to be used with my hand sander to suck all the dust away after my cheap vacuum stopped working.
It took 5 minutes to put together when it arrived and it has been excellent, not only doing what I wanted, but exceeding my expectations. I had originally planned to get a Henry hoover, but thought otherwise when I saw the price of them (can’t see why they are so expensive). I’m glad I went with this vacuum instead.
Pros:
– Strong suction
– Can be used bagless, or with a bag (supplied), or wet with the wet filter bag (supplied)
– It has a very useful power tool feature. Plug the power tool into the vacuums integrated power socket, turn on option 2, and every time you activate the power tool, the vacuum turns on too (and off when you turn off the tool). Also the socket in the vacuum means you need one less power socket.
– long power cable and suction pipe.
– it has no problems sucking up whatever is on the floor. Dust, plaster, sawdust, everything.
– easy to empty when using baskets. Just unclipped the top and pour out the contents.
– it has a blowing function apparently, to blow leaves or dust or whatever, but I’ve not used it.
Cons
– the straight bit of the suction pipe feels very flimsy. Feels like it will snap or shatter if I put any weight on it when hoovering. It is three short plastic tibes roughly 40cm in length which fix together, so possibly useful for reaching places, but I’d prefer a single metal pipe.
– it is loud. My ears were ringing after use.
Easy to assemble. Good suction power. My rug looks like new again ! Only thing is that you would expect that the cord lead is a bit longer with an “industrial” vacuum cleaner like this. But still 5 stars because it does a great job around the house
I use this vacuum cleaner as a hoover for my carpet. And it is much stronger than a Dyson. The watt is incredible, and I am using it only on level 1. I cannot even imagine the power of level 2.
For the price it’s not a bad machine. First the good . 1 price. 2 suctions ok . 3 socket for power tools which was one of the main reasons I bought it. Now me being a bit of a plonker i kinda forgot most of my power tools are now cordless and a lot that work on sparks are 110v. It does work with my Miter saw and belt sander. Phew. Anyway here’s the bad points 1 hose is not the best and feels brittle. I only have it a couple of weeks and haven’t fully tested yet so if it doing well I will try and replace the hose as I know it will drive me crazy
After years of clogging up our Dyson, eventually looked for something that would suck up dust, dirt, plaster etc – and what a buy! it inhales dirt and dust, chunks of plaster, trimmed electrical wire – easily!
So, so impressed, it has made clean up after jobs so so easy, for the money I can not advocate it enough
Used this for a house renovation and it’s taken everything we could throw at it. It’s sucked up dust, gravel and small rubble without any hitches and it’s going as strong 2 years on as the day I bought it. This machine is awesome! Some brilliant features rarely seen on a vac such as the option of positive pressure though hose and the electrical connection to synch a tool with it.
I’m very pleased with this vacuum it’s better than my old Henry which was very heavy. I like the blowing facility and the PTO which is very handy when using my machines.
Had this in my workshop for a while. Not had any problems at all. Has a great function to work in sync with the power tool the hose is connected to so you’re not bending down to turn it on and off all the time.
Replacement bags available on Amazon ( not same brand but fit fine and affordable)
Bought this after borrowing the Draper wet and dry. Used connected to a sander to sand walls and there’s no dust in the room. Great as sander can also plug into the vacuum so less cables to trip over or sockets to connect to! Suction is better than the draper wet and dry we borrowed but draper was lighte
Get job done have i expected, i lake and it’s good value and powerful. So far I am happy.Only thing it’s a bit loud, but it’s okay if you not bothered about a neighbou
Having sold our car we now have a large empty garage which allows hubby to set out his workshop machinery/tools so each is now easily accessible. As well as being an excellent floor and brick wall cleaner of wood shavings, sawdust and spiders webs, it attaches to some of the
Larger tools as a dust extractor, and then the power take off socket comes into its own. Vac master so good and diverse we will probably buy another.
Honestly I only ever take time to write a review when something is exceptional or exceptionally bad. This vaccum is amazing in every way possible.
It’s light yet sturdy. The suction is powerful. Take the hose off and connect on the other side for blower features. The capacity is huge . I don’t even need a bag if I choose not too. The power point on the machine auto starts and stops with an appliance plugged in ( sander for me)
Two downfalls.
The cable hooks to wrap cord is too shallow so it falls off again and the plug cable could be longer!
I love it ! Buy it !
Good for wood dust in my shed, not so good for rabbit hutch, which got it for mainly as it keeps blocking up and yes I have swept out huth contents first. It also works with my sander attachment which is good, blower attchment is not vey strong but ok for blowing wood dust as well as hoovering the dust up.
Brought this to replace my karcher wd2 (which was rubbish broke after 6 months) I have been impressed so far I would have rated it 5 stars but the hoover hose is rubbish but you can’t have everything I suppose
This vacuum cleaner is very powerful.. I think mainly due to the unobstructed air way and pipe size. I only use one tool so cannot comment on the tools that come with the machine. So far it has not failed me and I have filled one container(about one week). I am very pleased with it and would highly recommend it to others.
This was my third attempt to get a vacuum that actually worked and would pick up the hair from my GSD. Very pleased with it. The only negative for me is the tubing is too long which makes it rather unwieldy when using as it kinks, apart from that I’d recommend it as it moves easily.
Reading the reviews about this machine puts the whole review process in question in my opinion. How anybody doesn’t give this vacuum 5 stars is totally beyond me.
I bought this primarily as I had an horrendous task to do – lifting 60 metres of floor tiles from a chip board floor. Lifting the tiles was tough enough but cleaning off the tile adhesive for the new flooring required an angle grinder fitted with a dust shroud and appropriate grinding disc.
The inevitable amount of dust that this would generate led me to investigating a suitable vacuum and, despite some of the negative reviews, I plumped for the Vacmaster. What a revelation!
1. It is as easy as anything to put together. As I was extremely busy my wife did it in minutes. No disrespect to her but she is one of the least technically minded people alive. She can however, read and follow diagrams. Job done.
2. The plastic is anything other than brittle. I’ve no idea if I have a later version of machine than some who have commented on this but my vac has appropriately malleable plastic connections and accessories. Treated considerately I do not envisage any problems.
3. It is not overly noisy. It’s a powerful vacuum with commensurate noise levels.
4. It’s largely well designed with some nice touches such as facilitating the storage of accessories on the body of the vacuum. The only shortcoming IMO are the cable storage hooks that barely accommodate looped storage of the flex as they are too small.
5. The auto power setting for connection of power tools is brilliant. Whether there are longevity issues in the functionality of this remain to be seen but I have hammered mine and, so far, so good.
6. Suction is brilliant. Just use the appropriate configuration for whatever needs to be sucked up. The included dust bag is precisely that, for dust/sawdust etc. It will clog eventually and reduce suction. Used without a dust bag, for debris, the fitted filter can be removed and cleaned. I confess I have yet to use it for liquid so cannot comment.
7. Replacement dust bags are expensive but, prior to going to bagless vacuums courtesy of James Dyson, was this not always so? There are several types of dust bags dependent on the level of filtration required.
8. Yes, the vacuum tube and head are push fit tapered tubes. Simple and cheap but efficient enough. Check the price of the vacuum. I think you will agree they are commensurate with the price.
This vacuum is now one of my best buys. I use it on every power tool with a suitable connection and, during our recent renovations, it has become invaluable. Even for my wife.
She was complaining about the amount of fluff and dust that was visible between the radiator panels and in the fins so I suggested she put the Vacmaster on blow to clear it out. She did just that and, after using it, came to find me laughing out loud due to the amount of fluff and dust that it blew out. It was everywhere! Fortunately we still had empty rooms.
I bought this to replace my workshop/garage vac but having tried it out I think I’ll be keeping this to replace my home vac, it’s light manoeuvrable, sucks up dust and dirt like a mofo and the blower function is an added bonus this is probs my the best vacuum I’ve ever bough
Suction fantastic. Finally managed to get rid of the cobwebs. Haven’t tried the wet function yet but am well impressed with how well it gets in corners.
I used this to clean up my victorian cellar. It gobbled up everything in its path. Easy to change bags too. Now I use it when I use power tools. Especially sanders and saws. So glad I bought it.
I like this vacuum around my tiny shop. Has loads of power and sucks up anything. I particularly like the fact I can plug tools into the vacuum so the vacuum starts automatically. It is very loud though so suggest using ear defenders.
My old shop vac died after 7 years, this one is excellent. It is a lot quieter and has more power than the old one, attachments included are great and hose length is not to long and unwieldy
Bought this Vacuum mainly as a dust remover for my circular saw and other power tools.
Although not the cheapest on offer at 65, I was amazed at the build quality and stability, and the various accessories supplied. The hose fittings fitted all my power tools, and the best feature for me is the additional power socket on the Vac which the the power tool is plugged into, there by enabling the power tool to control the vac, stopping and starting whenever the power tool is operated. the wet and dry feature is definitely a useful feature, and the vac is a very good addition to the household.
Not used it yet how ever turned it on to make sure all working so far so good, Clips on the side seem to be a bit loose so hopefully won’t be an issue hence the 4* will edit review once used, currently renovating our home so will get plenty of use.
When I bought this, it was just so I didn’t mess up my Dyson whilst doing DIY. I didn’t expect much from it. But it has been amazing! The suction is very strong and constant, the build quality is great, it’s super robust, and the on-board plug socket that turns the vacuum on automatically when power is drawn from it makes it a joy to work with. It has all the attachments you’d ever need and then some. I’d recommend this to anyone without hesitation.
We got this vac for are artificial grass which has been down about 5 years, now it has been vacuum it looks like new, it even picked up the dog hairs we are very happy
I wanted a vac for the garage so I didn’t need to use our house vac for dirty, grimy, stones, wood or metal rubbish. This is a nice vac thats light weight and easy to drag around. Its also nice that you can plug power tools into it. As its a garage/garden vac we store in the garage, we don’t need to be too careful with it. A few knocks and scratches just add to its character. 🙂
I wanted to buy a shop vac that will not break the bank but still have a power takeoff function. This does the job just fine. The only thing I do not like about it is that the hose does not rotate, so when I move around I always have to untangle/untwist it. The hose is also quite stiff. I would have liked it if it was more flexible.
This seems to be a very well thought out product and hopefully will do my job, purchased to be mainly used in my workshop area.As I have not used it fully as yet it will no doubt prove to be very practical. The suction is very good and with the added facility of being able to have a direct connection to my dust producing products will be an added bonus.Compaired to others viewed I find it to be well priced, sturdy and not an overly large unit.Time will tell on quality but at the moment I’m well pleased.
great wet and dry vac, easy to use and comes with all the usual tools, easy to switch between wet and dry vacuuming, plenty of suction and the power take off socket allows you to use it for duct extraction with your own power tools.
A fabulous shop vac! Love the slots for all the nozzles. It’s super light weight and easy to manoeuvre. Even used it outdoors to vacuum a large amount of flakes of paint!
If you’re a worker that works in houses offices etc this vac would be ideal for cleaning up after yourselves. Your customers will be impressed!
I like the accessory socket and the plastic body – no rust! So far seems easy to use and powerful enough, good range of accessories and an absolutely huge dustbag
I bought this to replace my ageing wet & dry garage vacuum cleaner and have been reqlly pleased with it. The sucktion is fine for connecting to woodwork tools and the power take off plug is brilliant, and the unit is stable on its wheels when being pulled around the workshop. The length of the hose is good, and the and fittings provided are all fine for the job. I have yet to try it in ‘wet’ mode, but ovverall I think that this unit is very good value for money.
Does what it says, I’ve used and abused this vac. The power outlet function is great when using it in conjunction with variety of power tools, automatically starts the vacuum up when you pull the trigger on the power tool, switches off the vac few seconds after you release the trigger.
The filter is massive and takes up a good portion of the bucket. Filter is easy to remove for cleaning. I use without the bag but after clogging the filter several times with plaster dust ( I did say I’d abused it), I’m considering switching to use bags, but I like the way lid easily clips off to dump contents of bucket into bin bag.
Not used it for wet use, but I see no reason it wouldn’t handle water spillage without issue.
Bottom line is I do not regret buying this little vac and would recommend.
Great features for the price. All of the tools and extension tubes slot onto the main unit so that everything is kept together. You can also coil up the main hose and put it inside.
Not tried it as a dry vac yet, but didn’t buy it for that purpose, it was more a workshop hoover and. Hoover up the water in the front footwell of the wife’s car with no problems at all. Not tried it in “auto” mode with an attached power tool either, that’ll have to wait for another day.
All in all, powerful, and did exactly what was asked of it. Only time will tell if the lighthouse weight will make it unstable, but the casters are a reasonable distance apart, so will hopefully be fine.
This is much better than I expected. Yes it is noisy but it is powerful enough, compact and light. I didn’t expect the Power Take Off to be so useful. It automagically turns the vac on and off with the tool. The hose is good and long. The cable is rather stiff but long enough. The accessories are very cheap and plasticky but could be replaced by better ones if necessary.
A wet and dry filter would be worth buying to avoid having to swap out the dry paper bag when encountering any liquids, although I guess it wouldn’t filter dust so well. A drain on the bottom of the canister would be handy but then I would get that with a more expensive model and it’s a minor inconvenience. Recommended.

This was good value, and although a fairly cheap model, it has good suction and works well with machine tools as well as cleaning up around the workshop. I have added a loose draw-string dust bag which prolongs the life of the cartridge filter, and is available inexpensively as an accessory. Filter bag and cartridge filter need to be taken outside and dusted off when the drum is emptied, and I would suggest that emptying is also an outside job.
A very powerful hoover. It’s a must have if you are professional. It’s alot better than other brands. I’ve been refurbishing my house and I have used it for a couple of months. It was more than helpful and still does the job like new.
Highly recommended
So far it’s been great using it to clean up house renovations.
Used on my bandsaw as an extractor because it fits underneath and don’t have space for something bigger, and occasional workshop clean up. the power take off is a great feature, powerful vacuum

Overall, I think this thing is excellent.
Ease of use and fits perfectly most if not all of my sanding tools, excellent suction and manoeuvrability in small areas.
Would happily buy again.

I use vac for picking up wood shavings from a wood lathe it works very well.
Good hover and even better price.
The straight tubes are a bit thin though but perfectly usable.
The suction is very good.
And light to handle and great when you use it with your power tools.
And lot cheaper than a Henry Hoover’s
