This is a good guard for pets but not for babies. It is good for my needs because I use it from wall to wall not around the fire. Because it has vertical bars and not grid design babies can put their arms through so dont get it as a baby guard unless it’s to partition the room off. The gate has to be lifted to open but if lifted a little too far it comes off. All the panels will come away if your a Lillie heavy handed this can be useful if you don’t want to use all the parts. Over all a good gate but not to be used close to the fire for babies. As long as you are aware of how it works it’s fine
Instructions are poor. Do not force the hinges to open and close when setting the angle of the sections. You must remove the spring loaded pole which will release the hinges and allow you to set the angle. If you don’t remove the pole and force the hinges they will snap. The instructions are not clear on this.
Really simple and easy to install. Came with the rawl plugs and screws. Can be set up in a variety of ways which was brilliant as we needed it to go round a free standing log burner. Will be buying another one for between the lounge/kitchen/diner as our downstairs is open pla
This product is heavier than I expected it to be, and much more stury that previous dog gates that I have had. It is wide enough to fit easily across our double door with a section on each end to stand at right angles so that there is no risk of it falling over, even if the dog puts her paws up on it. Good product so would highly recommend.

I bought this to go across my driveway to keep the dog in as I don’t have gates. Just a temporary measure while I work in the front garden. Delivered promptly. A bit stiff to open and shut but that makes it sturdy. Would recommend.
This gate looks good and is very sturdy. It arrived already assembled which was great.
The brackets provided are plastic definitely not of the same sturdiness as the gate and were broken on arrival. Even had they arrived intact they are to brittle and (according to my husband) surely would have broken during assembly.
I would have preferred and It would be an improvement if the brackets were metal.
The company resolved the problem by sending a whole new gate. I would have been happy with workable/useable brackets but appreciate their resolve.
We have had this for almost 6 months now- one of the best purchases we have made. This is so versatile. We use it to keep our Labrador puppy in the kitchen, on one side of the estate car when we transport her any distance and as a pen whenever we visit other places and need to control her. Would not be without it!
The actual fire guard is sturdy which is what we wanted. However the brackets don’t meet with the wall because the skirting board is in the way so it cannot be fixed to the wall which is what we wanted.

Brilliant fire guard. Really good quality. Not flimsy. Really sturdy. Well made. Made from high quality material. The wall fixings are fab. There’s no way it’ll come out the wall if a child was hanging off it. The door is perfect, we we can get to the fire easily.
The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the screws that comes with the guard. They aren’t quite long enough to feel 100% happy with the safety. However we used longer screws, which were perfect. I’d recommend others purchase longer screws too.
Friends and family have commented how good it looks and how good the quality is.
Worth every penny
Love this fire guard, I have it around my log burner, just open the gate and burner door to stoke it up. Plenty of room for log basket, coal shuttle etc, keeps little ones safe and clean. Able to use it to keep my dog in one section of the room when I am going out too, so useful.
Purchased to keep our pup safe. She can’t climb it as there are no cross bars. We couldn’t attach to the wall as our skirting boards are too wide. It takes a bit of effort to unfold and fold – it’s quite stiff. Don’t worry about being quite rough and forcing the hinge.
Used this to keep new puppy in the kitchen in a straight configuration, cable tied to her crate to hold ridged. Strong hinges to get into position, OK because when in position for us we won’t be moving it.
We almost broke the hinges in trying to push panels into shape we required.
It is easy when you know how. Someone who had a similar product showed us how. The corner posts come out in order to move the hinges at the top and bottom . When they are in the right position you push the corner posts back in to fix the shape. Simples!
Instructions are not simple to understand.
Once it is positioned how you want it is excellent. It is strong, looks smart and does the job.

Bought this to block off access to certain areas in the house when we got a lively puppy. Being gated it makes life easier than stepping over barriers. This feels very well built and is great. We also have a wood burning stove so it will be very useful there beyond the puppy stage.
This came really fast well before it’s estimated delivery which was a bonus. The product is very solid and sturdy able to free stand on its own. We attached it one side to the wall just in case of one over excited cocker spaniel nudging it however it would take some nudging as the frame is quite stiff and weighty so it wouldn’t be knocked out of shape anytime soon. Door is real easy to use, just like a baby gate. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting some form of safety guard that seems like it’ll stand the test of time.
My only complaint is the screws that came with the guard to attach to the wall were quite soft and easily stripped with an electric impact wrench. I just swapped them out for higher quality screws which solved that problem.

Bought to block off front door as I have 3 small yorkies and 1 likes to shred mail. Very sturdy.Bars narrow enough the dogs can’t get through them. Sturdy enough they can’t knock it over.I have set it up as 3 sides so when I walk in the door I have a little porch type area as I walk in.It has a little door so I don’t need to climb over it.
Good if you have a pet that would run out the front door when its opened as you can go into the porch area and open the door and dogs are behind the bars.
Fantastic product. I have a few from different companies to break up a large open plan studio space in which 4 dogs of various sizes roam while I work. This is by far the most sturdy and tallest. Highly recommend
Excellent, used to stop my dogs running off, wish I had bought one years ago. Gives me great peace of mind.
After a serious operation on her knee, we need to stop our Sprocker going upstairs until her leg was healed. This guard was perfect, large enough to cover the bottom of the stairs and rigid enough without the need to fix to the wall or stair spindle. We live in a split level house so needed a guard to stop the dog but still allow us to go from the kitchen downstairs to the living room upstairs, with a simple one handed squeeze handle this was ideal. Our dog may net have been too impressed with it but we were!
Looks good although not attached to the wall yet as waiting for the chimney sweep to come first.

Very sturdy, great length. Can shape to suit where you want to block/cover. Quite hard to open/shape though but will not budge once on place. Overall, great safety barrier. Took longer than expected to arrive but was in the run up to Christmas so all delivery was probably slower.
