There’s so much uncertainty about these ‘cheaper’ projectors, with many people giving positive reviews because they’re offered gifts if they give 5 stars. You get very positive ones but some reviews for the same product are very negative – it’s hard to decide. I will try and answer two questions in this review – is this projector as good as advertised and is it worth the price?

For the starters – I like it. The pros are:
native 1080p resolution (means the menu and things like apps and watching pictures will be displayed in full HD. Many projectors have 720p which is well…more blurry
built in Wifi and Bluetooth – both work very well and don’t take a USB port away
2xHDMI, 2xUSB 2.0, VGA, AV input and audio output. This allows for very versatile use. You can also select in the menu which port to start with when you turn the projector on
manual vertical and electronic vertical/horizontal keystone – works great (will come back to keystone later)
manual focus – it is easy to adjust and holds well
zoom out to 80% – useful if the screen is too big and you can’t move the projector
really nice looking – I like the shape and colours
functional – external buttons for basic functions, well working remote (multi angle) and nice lens cover
Android 6.0 system built in with theoretical upgrade
very good speakers – it has 2, they give really decent sound and are loud (you won’t hear the fan noise unless you’re sitting next to the device)
It looks amazing even in just Full HD. I love watching videos on YouTube, play movies and games on my PS4 pro. And I’m just using my nice and smooth white wall – no screen
I get a 70” crisp and sharp screen from less than 3m distance. It’s good enough for me
It is really bright – I’ve got it set up next to a window and can see the screen even in daylight. Of course less light means better quality
in my opinion the fan isn’t overly noisy. It has a constant speed and works well enough to not allow the projector to get hot (it gets warm). It has a feature where it reminds you after 4 hours that you should rest your eyes and give the projector a rest
you can connect a mouse and a keyboard. Makes a lot easier to use the device
While using HDMI you can access very useful screen and sound menus (press M on the remote)

Cons:
if you’re looking for a 4k projector – look elsewhere. This one offers upscaling to 4k, and it doesn’t work very well. My PS4 pro doesn’t recognize it as 4k, same for Amazon 4k stick (I have all the latest cables and 4k games). Built in YouTube app will allow you for higher resolution up to 4k but you have to keep it in Auto mode. If you select 4k or higher than 1080p it will just enlarge the screen (focus on upper left corner). It differs based on how the video was recorded and after every ad break you have to manually switch back to 1080p then back to Auto
the remote has lots of buttons which do nothing. It works well but is not a dedicated remote for this projector and I’m told to ‘ignore’ half of the buttons on it. Really? For over 350 you can’t even get a dedicated remote?
keystone. This is a common problem with many projectors. It works well but not without compromise. I.e. if you set the projector very high but want the picture very low, you can do it but at a cost of slightly blurry image at the bottom of the screen. Also you can’t do electronic vertical and horizontal correction together. It’s either or. So make sure you either have the right height or the wall/screen is dead ahead. My ‘compromise’ was using vertical manual and electronic horizontal correction. There are still limits though if you want the picture to be sharp
as long as my PS4 is on, I can’t switch the projector off. Well I can but it will switch back on very quickly. It’s probably some signal sent from the console that wakes the projector. No issue with the Amazon stick
the built in media player doesn’t seem to have the option of audio delay. It’s useful as you will get some delay when playing sound from an external device and wanting to pick the sound on a Bluetooth speaker connected to the projector. The alternative is to connect the speaker directly to the playback device if it supports Bluetooth
no HDR or HDCP 2.0 (at least according to the Amazon stick)
It’s got access to Android Play store but some apps won’t work. Also I can’t update the built in YouTube app (I get an error every time). Other apps update ok
there is something in the menu called Gyro correction. Sounds cool (like you can correct the screen angle if it’s on an uneven surface). It does nothing at all though. Same goes for Ethernet connection menu. I was told it’s there and maybe it will work in future. The projector doesn’t have Ethernet socket but there are USB adaptors – I tested and sadly nothing. The wifi works well though
there is only one extendable leg at the back of the projector (and not in the middle) to correct the angle

So there you go. I’m sure I missed some of the subjects but there are so many things you can do with it
I am really happy with this projector. I cannot confirm how long it will work without faults. I had it switch off on me unexpectedly once, but it worked fine after switching back on. Could have been a glitch.
The hardest question would be – is it worth the price? 368 with no vouchers or special offers like other projectors have – It’s no small money.
If you look at the whole market of projectors, you will see different tiers. So tier 1 would be portable tiny projectors or very cheap and faulty ones offering low quality picture, with no wifi or bluetooth. Then you get slightly better projectors which may have wifi and better picture, but still have native 720p resolution. Then you get the native 1080p devices with keystone and wifi, occasionally bluetooth. This is around 150-200 bracket. After that you get stuff similar to this projector. And this is my problem. Should this projector have the 4k working better – the price would have been very attractive. I think I might have overpaid by about 68. For 300 this projector would have been a great purchase.
I have to mention someone almost all of the reviewers mentioned – Anne. She was very helpful and sent me lots of information about the projector. I mentioned I want to write a solid review of this product – she offered to send me a projector screen as a rewardI didn’t accept it and asked her to help me with my questions instead. I haven’t heard from her since despite 2 emails sent. It left a slightly bitter taste for me as the projector isn’t bad at all. In the video I demonstrated some of the ‘issues’ I found – mostly around keystone and 4k upscaling.

I will update the review should I discover any more interesting things or any issues or faults occur. For now I don’t regret the purchase. I use a laptop holder – one of those where you can adjust the angle – perfect for positioning. I wish it was cheaper and some of the system features were better made but al in all, I can recommend this device.
