Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is the first time I have given a review. This product is so good I felt I had to do this.
I am taking down a partition wall, I have a 18 volt battery multi tool at the moment. The work has been slow with this as the battery is dying quickly. So I looked for a mains unit.
After reading the reviews I ordered this item. The first night I removed half the wall cutting through plaster board wood supports with ease.

The build quality is superb it feels a quality to hold. The quick change for the blades works like a dream instead of an hex key. I have tried 1 third party blade so far no problems.
The lead is long enough to do most jobs. It comes with a carry case 2 blades and sanding pads. You will need to order more blades with it, ( the only issue is the lack of blades).
Quite simply the best item I have bought for the toolbox.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had to recently replace my kitchen electric hob. When I purchased my new hob I found it was not going to fit the opening of the older hob as it was 10mm on the thick side. I was told that a sonicrafter would be the perfect tool to help me remove the necessary amount of material from the worktop in order to make it fit. I decided to take the plunge and purchase a sonicrafter for the job. I looked at a number sonicrafters on Amazon and I decided to purchase the WORX as it seemed the best value piece of kit. After using this tool it did the job perfectly for me. The only gripe I have there was not enough blades incl. This is the reason I have given it 3 stars.

Very powerful and a great tool for the toolbag. Need to be strong to hold this down though. Lots of third party blades fit this tool so much better than others

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNot sure how I managed so long without one! This is a great tool and so versatile. Have so far taken out bottom of architrave, excess metal bar ends, floorboards, brickwork, ceiling and coving and pipework with this. It is hard to get it going straight (so practice if it’s an important cut) but for speed and ability to do what skillsaws and the like can’t it’s a must for a multi-tasking diy’er or home renovation. Wouldn’t be without mine now. Watch out for what blades you buy to go with it (it only comes with 2 – the rest are sanding pads) – I got a cheap set and they were good to try out but poor quality. If you know what you need buy better I’d say (the one worx one I bought is far superior). It has 2 blade attachments, with one adapting to take most non-worx ones it seems.

Lovely piece of kit that has already saved me so much time and grief on the first project I used it on.
I nearly bought one of these a few years ago but I’m glad I waited and got this model with the quick lock and release system.
So much easier than my brother-in-law’s one that I used to borrow!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really don’t know how I managed to do some of the jobs before without one. This tool is easy to use and a great time saver if you need to cut doors without taking them off the frame, cut pipes, fit wooden flooring around pipes and other objects. It is a multi use tool that I will never be without now that I have one. I feel that I have wasted time in my life doing things the old way and are making up the time by using this tool which it quick efficient and effortless.

Wanted one of these for a while but couldn’t decide what make to go for. Eventually chose this Worx one and I am very pleased with it for diy jobs, only draw back is the sanding triangles don’t stay on the pad for very long, otherwise great bit of kit.

Great piece of kit. Much better than my previous one from a discount supermarket. Power is unbelievable. Only issue I’d say is the velcro on the sanding pad is very poor. But I’m sure will be able to get a different one that will fix that.

I am not a DIY expert but have been thrust into doing various tasks to get a house renovation finished. I think I used every tool in the space of 2 weeks and would say this tool was a great help with doors, sanding and general cutting.

The main reason I did get the tool was tile cutting as I had a number of holes to cut out of the middle of tiles. Having not done loads of tiling before I was looking for something to make the process easier. The tool didn’t make massive claims about tile cutting but there were a few references to say that it did cut tiles.

In the end it did the job but I had to purchase 3 blades to finish the job of around 4 tiles. I have no doubt there was an easier way to do it but not being a tiling expert I just thought this tool would make life easier. I think that if you have a few odd cuts to do then it is perfect for tiling.

However, as the product doesn’t make massive statements about tiling it did what I hoped it would do and for everything else it was excellent and saved me loads of time.

Good tool and quite powerful. Seems to periodically be heavily discounted on Amazon (to 70-80 range), so wouldn’t recommend paying anything close to full 150 asking price. Also don’t get fooled by the “40 Accessories” tag line – these comprise two (wood only) saw blades, an alternative mounting pin to allow use of non-Worx cutting heads, a sanding foot, a (good) carry case, and all the remaining items in the count are sheets of sanding paper (i.e. about 35 of). If you want to do anything useful with this you will need to buy ‘real’ tools / blades at extra cost.

Wow, quickly becoming a tool you must have in the toolbox. Its used on nearly every job for one thing or another. Does get hot when working hard.
Blades are approx 1.00 each. But gets in where other tools can’t.

I purchased this with one job in mind. I have since used it for so many jobs it’s surprising how many things you can use this for. I also tested the sander and it works better than my black and decker hand sander. One downside the blades don’t last long so you might want to invest in a few extra. All in all, it’s a great tool to have.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersHaving been looking at the F30 variant, snapped this up when it came on lightning deal, attracted by the bigger motor. My plumber had used one to chomp through plasterboard, and I could see that it would have its uses in some up-and-coming projects. I had some reservations based upon tool reviews, but I bit the bullet, hence the review.
First off, the F50 is a beast, and has the potential roar to match when it is shifted through its six speeds, Ear protectors are recommended, particularly if using the higher speeds, although in first and second the volume is tolerable at a pinch.
It comes with two cutting blades, a sanding pad and oodles of sanding sheets, as well as an additional bolt ,”used only with other oscillating tool brand sanding pads”, which I suppose is useful if you are thinking of using one.
The sanding plate has come in for a lot of flak, reading through other people’s comments. I tried it with some trepidation, expecting it to disintegrate in quick order, but it held the pad well when I tried it on some scrap wood, trying it at varying speeds. I’m sure with practice that it is possible to get good results with this tool, but the finish was relatively scratchy , and given the size of the head I do not see myself using it much. My Makita rotary sander is my ‘go-to’, and that and an elderly B+D Mouse (and old-fashioned elbow grease) will be my tools of choice when sanding. That said, it is good to get the flexibility of sanding with this tool.
It is in the cutting that this tool comes into its own. The speed with which it cuts through wood is remarkable, and that is at speed setting 1! Heaven knows how quick it might be at highest setting, but I was wanting control .It cut a thin (7mm) sliver from the end of a 16.5cm x 1.5cm wooden skirting board with ease, and was much easier than using a hand- or jigsaw, which would have been the alternative. The sawdust was also very contained. I was able to remove and replace old door architrave with ease and little mess, the bi-metal blade chomping through the wood (at tile level) and through the holding nails higher up. The LED lights that are attached to this model were useful here. I then used the blade to cut back into some solid plaster (a 164cm run in total). The blade chomped its merry way, and even though the teeth were wearing towards bluntness by the end, the job was certainly easier and less messy than knocking the plaster out by hand.
The tool has thus far performed admirably. There is some ‘blowback’ from the tool, but it is not excessive. It does not appear to heat up noticeably in use, and the locking/unlocking mechanism is a breeze. The power rating may be overkill given the DIY usage that it is likely to get from myself, but I feel happy having the horses in hand, as it were. I cannot compare it to its stablemate or to other brands, but I am very happy with my purchase and can foresee many future uses for it. It was also easy to upgrade the guarantee for the machine to 3 years online.
(I gave it 5 * as I was fully aware that the bulk of the bundled items were sanding sheets, and because the youtube videos of the machine in use do seem to accurately reflect its ability. I would have bought the F30 had this machine not been on offer, as I would have been hard pressed to justify the price differential between the F50 and F30 in normal circumstances).

Pleasingly versatile, and very powerful! (Review of the F50)

Top quality piece of kit well worth the 80 or so that I paid Amazon for it. Not sure i would pay the RRP of 150 though – at that price I’d be looking at the Bosch kit.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI just received this today and put it to work. This a serious piece of kit. It made short work of sawing through nails and plunge cutting into thick timber. The speed at which it cuts is stunning. I bought this to replace a bosch pmf 180 which quit working out of the blue, no surprises there given bosches reputation over the last 5 years.
Worx cuts through timber and nails in seconds my old bosch tool was taking minutes.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersBeen using multitools for some years now so have quite an experience with them. Ordered one today as a replacement and it looks a nice piece of kit. It holds nicely and is quite powerful. The locking mechanism is easy to use and has a tight grip.

    WHY 4 STARS?
    – Despite the manufacturer’s claim that it’s compatible with blades of other brands it’s simply not always the case. Although the lock does have a good grip and holds blades tightly, some of the Bosch and Saxton ones wouldn’t click into the teeth pattern.
    – The tightening mechanism is made of metal however the actual handle itself is made of plastic which isn’t that thick so it’s prone to breaking at some point
    – it comes with only 2 blades, one tiny sanding attachment and a bolt for attaching sanding attachments of other brands, all packed in a small plastic case. Other manufacturers are more generous.

I possess two other Worx tools and this wee beastie has been built with the same quality in mind as the others. A robust well designed tool and a must for any serious DIYer (and Pro) Don’t get me wrong you won’t be reaching for this tool every time you open the tool box but it’ll come into its own when you least expect it. Take the time to get to know the tool properly and it’ll serve you well. Spend some time ‘practicing’ with timber from the scraps box in workshop/shed and it’ll pay dividends, just don’t be expecting to dive into the box and recreate the kind of jobs you see being done on the you tube videos without the learning curve. All in all a fantastic addition to your tool box.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery nice tool . The only Quibble is that the universal tool grip can work loose if one is doing a hard job on steel – I sawed two sides off an immoveable retaining NUT on a sewing machine pulley with it and had to do the saw tool up twice. But the shaft thread was not damaged and a new 5/8th nut replaced the cut one on the new smaller pulley.. The machine is ideal for these hard inaccessible jobs where a hacksaw will not work. The teeth on the saw blade are still very sharp and none broke off. The machine is not that noisy its well balanced and easy to use. Blade changing is easy . Personally I would use it on wood plastics and aluminium and only for emergencies on steel

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOrdered this after doing some research, I was unfamiliar with the WORX brand, but had seen positive feedback online about the ‘newer’ WORX tools and this is the more powerful of 2 Sonicrafters from WORX. One of the main reasons for ordering this tool was the universal blade fitting system, it uses a long screw which you put slack into from the top of the cutter and then slide in a blade if it is open sided, then screw tight the screw clamping the blade tight in place and lock the screw in place with the ‘hyperlock’ handle. This system works well and does clamp the blade securely in place. I used it to cut a channel in plasterboard for electrical cabling. I had already used an angle grinder to partially cut the channel, as you may know the only problem with this is that it kicks out so much dust. I used the Sonicrafter to finish off the channeling and cut some more as well, it was a joy to use, no dust, accurate cutting which due to the tool size is very easy to control, the LED lights aren’t the brightest but still helpful. You only get one ‘circular’ type blade, one straight blade and a footplate for the velcro sanding pads (included), the case it comes with is basic but ok and the so called instructions are useless if you want to understand how to use the tool and the different speed settings effectively.

The tool is easy to hold and does not transmit the vibration of the blade to the tool, as others have said it does eat blades but i don’t know if that is down to the power of the tool or the quality of the blade that came with it. I have also used it to cut some kitchen cabinet and had to ensure i did not cut too far as i would have ended up with an eyesore. The Sonicrafter worked well and allowed me to cut with ease and accuracy and no damage, i also ordered some more aftermarket circular blades. Now to get a cordless drill – the WORX powerful one looks tempting as it throws out a good amount of power.

Definitely recommended.

When I get onto the new laminate floor this will easily and tidily cut the space needed under the skirting board
and I have a range of attachments coming which will let me tidy up the grout in the kitchen floor.
I can think of so many uses for this like cutting out sections of the shower room floor that need replacing.
Then I have got three doors to fit so i can use this to cut the door handle slots.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSeems very well constructed. Suits all my old attachments. Unlike many other products it fits back into the case with no trouble. My last multi-tool was a Workzone (from Aldi). The attachments had to be tightened on with an allen key which often loosened while working. The speed control on the Workzone was variable with a potentiometer. This kept rotating to full speed when working. The Workx system of switched speeds is much better as it stays at the selected speed. The cable is a good length. I have not used it enough yet to be sure how good it is but so far I am very impressed with i

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI undertook a fair bit of research before buying this, most of my other tools are Bosch which have always served me well however the Bosch (DIY grade) multi-tool had poor reviews so i needed to branch out. Ive not been disappointed so far and, as many others have said, Im not sure how i ever coped without it. I purchased the F50 which comes in a really smart, quality box thats big enough for the tool itself and quite a few attachments. It comes with 2 blades and a sanding attachment (with loads of varied grade sanding paper which is where the 39 accessories are made up). The tool itself feels excellent quality, compact and easy to hold. The variable speed is very useful and at full bore it feels very powerful. The quick release mechanism is easy to use and fast to change blades. I bought a saxton assorted case of additional tools but didnt buy the quick release type (you need the horseshoe shape rather than the hole), they still fit into the Sonicrafter but it takes longer to change the blades. Infact the tool will accept almost any make blade which is great. Ive so far used it to sand and to cut out floorboards very cleanly, the latter job would have required a crowbar and lots of splintered floorboards without this tool. I can see this will be my go to tool for DIY from now on.

Update: Nov16. Thought I would add to this review as I’ve now used it for several more jobs. Its still excellent and I now could not do without it. I’ve used it to chase out walls for cables which is far more delicate than a power drill with a chisel attachment (great if your chasing out internal walls that are only 1 brick thick – the chisel on the power drill would likely break through to other side). Using the semicircle masonry attachment (bought separately) you can cut a perfect neat line either side of your chase and then quickly chisel out the channel. I have also used it to speed up cutting out socket boxes in both masonry and plasterboard and to cut the end off thick steel bolts. You definitely need to buy a a selection of attachments to go with this to get the best from it.

Great tool is better than my much more expensive fein multimaster. That broke and was too costly to repair. Real quality. And value for money

Great tool. The only downside is the protective carrying case which is a snug fit for the tool but leaves little space to organise the attachments. The case also lacks the quality of the tool.

Nice piece of kit but only sanding accessories come with it, you need to fork out for the cutters and scrapers.

Great piece of kit. Cuts quickly and cleanly and doesn’t throw up dust and splinters everywhere.
Wish I had bought one long ago.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAfter watching the guys who put in my windows use a similar tool I decided to buy one on the basis that it was virtually a ‘one stop tool’ that could perform a huge range of cutting and sanding jobs – providing you buy a decent accessories kit alongside it, because as another reviewer has pointed out, 36 of the accessories with this base model are in fact sanding pads. However, using this as the base tool + a decent accessories kit, what this tool gives you is an extremely flexible tool that you can use on a huge range of jobs about the house. The locking mechanism that clamps the tools to the base is very easy to use, which makes changing accessories very quick and you can use a range of other manufacturers accessories as there is a conversion pin included in the kit. All of this comes in a robust carry case. It’s a brilliant piece of kit that deserves five stars, however, I do have a couple of complaints; I would have preferred a carry case where the tool and accessories were held in place – although the case it comes with is adequate, and whoever wrote the instruction book must have attended the minimalist school of instruction book writing as it is next to useless. That said, great basic set to start out your oscillating collection.
