Firstly, this is quite a simple set up which is effective. You do need to use an app to set up the system so make sure you have a phone or tablet capable of the set up.

The installation of the system is simple to do and so far it has worked very well for me. It gives that extra peace of mind.

It seems like it should last a long time as long as the app doesn’t become obsolete!

The price for the system is very reasonable.

Very good quality, easy to DIY install and operate from phone.

Can be set up to work with other smart devices in the house via alexa. Just requires a few nimutes and once i learned about the schedules it just works.

Once set up the system works very well, you get notifications on your phone when it is armed and disarmed and if any sensors are tripped . Although I did have some problem getting it set up on my mobile phone but this will probably not apply to everyone.

Regularly checks itself and easy to control remotely from any distance via the Mobile App. Siren is also very loud.

The app allows you to control the system, giving you alerts of when the system has been accessed. it reminds you when you leave to set the alarm and reminds you when you get home to turn it off. I’m just really impressed, it will alert me to the batteries needing changing and I feel I have more control of how to maintain this system.

Really pleased, it makes me much more comfortable about home security and definitely recommend.

This looks great and is discreet due to it being small quite loud on the alarm which is good but you’ll have to check your window frames for comparability (see video) I would suggest that this is more a starter kit for a house or a good little system for a flat as there’s one motion sensor and two entry sensors the app was easy to download but I found it a little tricky to get connected but that could just be me I’d say slightly expensive for what you get but the tech it top notch so that makes up for it. You can have the base station upto a mile away so can even be used for your garden shed etc the motion sensor has a 110 degree detection angle at a range of 40 feet. There dosent seem to be a place for a security code so it’s just using the app or the remote to arm and disarm the stmystem.

Not suitable for some window frames

This security system was delivered quickly and in good quality packaging weighing around 1kg. It is easy to get out of the packaging and it was very safe in the box which is good. The first thing you have to do is download the app and you can do this by scanning the QR code on the card that comes with it which makes it a straightforward process.

You have to sign up with your email and make an account, you will receive a verification code. You have to set up the base station and connect it to the internet which is very simple and then you can set up the sensors around your house. They have a large connection range which is good.

I like the fact all the sensors included are battery powered so you don’t have to spend loads of time or extra cash with wiring. There is a remote included which you can use to disarm the system or press SOS and things like that.

Any time a sensor senses motion then you will get a notification straight to your phone which is really good. They also make an alarm sound which is great if you don’t have your phone near you then you can hear the alarm. As well as that it has some great features like if they sense your phone is far it will automatically turn on the system.

Overall, it worked really well and it kept my house very safe. Compared to others it is fairly priced and it is a breeze to set up and use. Highly recommended.

This is an easy set up using QR codes over an impressive range with reliability. You get with this starter kit a base ststion, a motion sensor, 2 entry sensors, and a remote control. The concept is for a small business, house or area that needs securing. The base station can have extra sensors added and the system easily grown to suit your needs. You can covertly notify, overtly notify, loudly alarm from the base station or trip existing main alarm… just ensure the base station is secure and remote as both can silence the alarm without sadly the need to enter a code or pin. Stunning product non-the-less and wise to be part of a complex system of layers of security. This is definately a great solution. Happy to recommend, Andrew

This is a very easy to install and use home alarm system.
You need to download the app in order to set the alarm system up. Once you have downloaded the app just follow the on screen prompts to fully set up your system.this system comes with a main hub, a motion detector and two window/door contacts.
I placed the main hub in my living room, the motion detector in my hall way and the two contacts on my front and back door.
The whole system is very simple to use and the App is very clear meaning you get full control of your system.
For the price it is really worth every penny and it really does work as it is advertised.

I’m surprised by some of the reviews on here for this system. I found it easy to setup and subsequently very reliable. It is relatively unsophisticated and has only a few sensors. However, it is perfectly capable of securing your home. Give a little thought to the true high value areas and points if ingress. You will be surprised how little you have to cover before there is little in the way of traffic that wouldn’t trigger at least one of the sensors. Equally, the siren itself is loud enough to make time with it uncomfortable. Any intruder will be hurried and likely not stick around. You will be notified and you can take action. Evidence shows that neighbours don’t react to alarms in any more meaningful way. With this alarm you would already know someone is in your house. So external sirens are overrated. I therefore think this is a perfectly fine alarm system. It does what it says it does and should be perfect for most small homes, flats and apartments. I have knocked one star off as there are bigger players in the industry with greater room for expansion through add-on extras.

Great for what it is - easy to setup alarm for a small house, flat or apartme

This probably won’t make your insurance company happy, but you can see via your mobile device whether there is movement, well in the room with the sensor, or a door is open. You get two sensors.

There’s a basic necessary things in the box, and a remote control.

The manual is okay, and easy to follow. With the app installed from the QR code you can add the base unit, and then motion sensor, followed by the door sensors, and then the remote.

There are number of steps involved, none is too complex, but you are going to need half an hour to get this done.

As with any app reliant product the app’s usability is very important, and this was good to use, and not bad looking from a design point of view.

Mounting the physical devices was made easy by sticky pads, but if you want to drill and screw, screws and plugs are provided too.
And the devices themselves are well made. Good quality plastics and look relatively expensive.

Batteries are included – and the claim is long life, indeed, I can’t obviously hope to test that.

Setting up the remote gives a sense of what the base unit sounds like in alarm.SOS mode, which is pretty loud when you are in the same room.

What you have is a very basic system, while you can add more devices that becomes more expensive – if however you have a main room with expensive devices, and a front door and back door, then this basic set covers those.

    Simple app based alarm system.

Obviously this isn’t going to be a NACOSS standard alarm, and insurance conditions compliant, but as a basic home DIY intruder alarm it’s pretty good.

The system seems well-made, is quite easy and straightforward to set up, and works well enough. Don’t expect a standard alarm bell / siren audible level. This isn’t that loud, but to be fair it doesn’t really need to be. So long as it activates upon intrusion, and alerts to your phone etc; that’s good enough.

Being wireless, it’s simple to install. However, the PIR and door contacts are absolutely enormous, and to be honest look ridiculous. This will put most people off installing, for aesthetic reasons, to be honest.

The kit is ready to go, with batteries (long life) included. However, this is a really basic kit, with only 1 x PIR included, and 2 x sets of door contacts (plus base and remote control) — that’s it. Additional PIRs are 27 each, which will really bump the cost up. You’re certainly going to need more than one.

Whilst you can of course use in conjunction with a home CCTV camera(s), it’s a shame that this system doesn’t directly interface with any brands or the manufacturer’s own. Not really a great issue though.

The app and functionality is basic, but decent enough, and it does work with Alexa.

Overall, this isn’t bad. It’s certainly well-made, but let down by the size of the PIR and door contacts. Also, when you starting adding PIRs and additional remote etc; the cost starts to escalate, which realistically makes this rather costly. It works well enough.

I hope that you have found this helpful.

    Basic, but okay.

Nice wireless house alarm it has the base station a one room movement sensor and two window/door sensors and a remote, the base runs on mains and the rest of the units run on supplied batteries, after reading the instructions it looked straight forward to set up, you need to download an app and connect each device with a QR code printed on each one, it all went very easily, the app has the same functions as the remote it comes with home away and an SOS button to set of alarm directly, it all set up with no problems, you can set sensor sensitivity etc from the app and lots of other settings.

I fitted the open shut sensors on front and back door and motion sensor in a central position. everything went well and a good feature is it has no monthly cost to run, all the units are nice to look at and modern looking, very please with it.

Great kit, no wires, nice and tidy.

Nicely box, this set consists of a base station, motion sensor, two entry sensors and a remote control. To set up the system you use the QR code to download the X-Sense app, create an account and add the powered on base station. The app takes you through exactly what you need to do but basically you scan the QR code on the base station and set up the WiFi etc. The base station is the only device that is mains powered and comes with a USB charger/cable. Once the base station is set up and the home/rooms added, you then go through the different devices adding them in a similar manner by scanning the QR code and pressing the test button. A similar method is used for adding the three sensors and remote control.

The sensors all come with a pair of adhesive stickers to attach to a wall (with the spare in case you need to move the sensor or move house etc). They also come with screws etc for more permanent attachment. Once everything is set up, there are three alarm modes – disarmed, armed and home. Home mode has the sensors on but they won’t set the audible alarm – you still get notifications when a door is opened, motion is detected etc. The modes can be set using the app, using the remote control (which also has a SOS button) or using Alexa or similar. To use Alexa you also need to connect Alexa to the X-Sense skill/account.

The alarm is good as a basic alarm and additional sensors can also be added to the base station. The sensors are connected using bluetooth/wifi so no wires are needed to connect them. The sensitivity of the motion sensor seems just right. The app does allow some customisation of the security system.

All in all, an easy to use alarm that doesn’t need much effort put into the installation.

Easy to install and effective security system

This fully automated apk or voice input per Alexa option controlled security alarm is fair quality build ,well done ,basic starter ,alarm kit could be ideal for/with LoRa hnt mesh networks use .Got nice design and do work as designated up to some level with some hit and missed in sections . Nothing major but still there .Functionality It’s capable to deliver working promise of safety ,again ,up to some level but it is what it is .This alarm could be seen as perfect solution for people who don’t appreciate time consuming set ups and like to have everything done with somewhat one click of a button ,and this kit do provide all of the above experience but only up to some level of expectations. If you ask why expectations ?I am happy to tell you that as always you get what you pay for but this time I see this product on the expensive side at the time of this review and on the longer side I have a strong feeling there is few things missing for that price .Anyway , regardless of the experience and the value for money matter I would guess some ppl could be happy with this alarm as sufficient enough to help with basic safety requirement and that is why I am happy to recommend it .

    Basic 2 +1 alarm system.

The sensors are battery powered which out me off at first but actually the batteries seem to be industry standard and quite cheap, enabling wire free installation. . There are two motions detectors and four door sensors The alarm itself is quite compact and rechargeable. it is all easy to install and works. I didn’t like the idea of using the monitoring service as I no nothing about the company or its security practices.

This is a good but basic security system. It’s easy to install, looks fresh, and it’s nice to complete the setup. I have the X-Sense app on my phone, and it will be alerted when any door is opened or motion is detected. Turning on and off the alarm is very easy, and you have enough time to clear the alarm when you go home. Everything is very simple and efficient. I am very satisfied with the X-Sense system. There have been no complaints so far.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersBefore the product arrived I received an email from the company giving me lots of information and contact details if I needed help with setting up- which I thought was a great touch.

    Order arrived when expected.

Husband spent a couple of hours reading the manual- which I think really helped- to make sure he understood where best to place sensors, how it set up each device, how to set up with Alexa.

Once he was au fait with that he put the sensors up- took less than 30 mins!

The units have serial numbers that display in the app but these were easily renamed to match their location.

The app is very straightforward, easy to set up and intuitive to use. Easy to arm or disarm the system from the app, as it is by using Alexa.

With the help of our 10 year old son we have tested every sensor (including one of the outbuilding) in both Home and Armed mode. So far, so good and at this point would definitely recommend.

    Great value for money.

I wish everything was as easy as setting up this alarm system. It is very easy to set it up as there are very clear instructions (but even without them you will be fine).
The box comes with 2 motion detectors, 4 door sensors, a base station, remote control, fixings and adhesive-tapes.
It is great that you don’t need to screw in everything you can also stick the sensors to the wall/doors/windows and they will hold.
The sensors work well with an ideal sensitivity.

The alarm system will work with an app and after downloading you’ll need to register to start using it. After that just follow the instructions in the app and it is ready to use.
    Recommended product!

At the best part of 180 this alarm system is not the cheapest but does offer features and variety that is generally available in much more expensive kits.
I love the simplicity in setting everything up and from the door sensors to the movement ones the connection to the base/siren station is strong and reliable.
Using the provided and straightforward remote control is superb for a simple setting up but I personally use the mobile phone app feature and I am also able to add family members that like me can then enable and disable the system. The app does also allow me to adjust features like the type of siren, LED light on the base station and I can see the feature that allows to get pop up notification be great not only to of course promptly spot intruders but also for people with kids to alert them when they have opened the front door and come home.

The siren also have a 12 hour battery back up system that is surely welcomed since randomly at times in my area we loose power but this device will still guarantee me a smooth operation.

The reliable and long distance communication between the sensor and the base unit does also allow me to place a door sensor onto the shed door so to protect bikes and lawnmower too

I believe nowadays every household should have some sort of security system. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry! Even better if you only need to pay once for it without any extra subscription fees.
This security kit from X-sense is a fantastic kit for beginners. It’s very easy to set up and navigate. It comes with 2 motion sensors, 4 entry sensors, a base unit, remote, adhesive pads, batteries (no wires needed!) and mounting kits for every sensor.
The design is really good, the sensors can easily blend in every modern home.
You can use the system with an app and also connect to Alexa.
My favourite function is the SOS one. This would be so helpful for anyone vulnerable or elderly. By pressing the sos button on the remote the system will send a notification to the chosen person (or people).
You can set exit/entry timer which will allow you to get out (or come in) without setting of the alarm.
The big thing for me as a pet owner is also the ability to set up the sensitivity, you don’t really want your pet to set the alarm off every 5 minutes.
I really like this kit for it’s simplicity, great look and it works really well too (the alarm is pretty loud!). I believe you can also add more sensors if needed.
Overall this is a really impressive security kit. I definitely recommend it, it works well and is easy enough to use even if you’ve never installed an alarm system before

This is a great alarm system. We didn’t need the amount of sensors provided, so haven’t used them all but they work without having the whole system set up.

The app was really easy to install and then you can use your phone for setting and unsetting, tracking movements etc. It sends notifications if there is movement if you are not at home. The remote control is compact and l fits in pockets.

There are 2 room sensors, 4 door sensors so they can be fitted in various areas of the house, a base system, and it comes with batteries. As stated you don’t need them all if you have a smaller property.

It can also be used as a door entry system so could be used in premises such as a shop etc so you know when someone has entered the building.

The app is free so there are no extra charges like some security systems.

Its a discreet, nice looking system and I think its good value for money at its current selling price of 179.99

i have seen some similar products that just aren’t up to the quality of this one. The kit comes with everything ope needs, with two motion sensors and four window / door sensors.

The base station has a back up battery so the base station can be placed in a difficult place for intruders to reach. That is one disadvantage an intruder has when entering a property. The property owner knows where everything is so should the base station be put in a high and out of reach place, the property owner can quickly get to the step ladders as he / she knows exactly where they are, should there be a false alarm and a remote control / phone isn’t handy and turning off a false alarm will be quicker to do manually. An intruder however does not know where everything is so should an alarm go off an intuder is likely to start panicking. He / she will immediately head towards the alarm to try to disable it. As the base station can be out of reach, the intruder is likely to pull the USB cable out or unplug it from the socket. As the alarm continues, with the back up battery the intruder is likely to leave the property quickly and hopefully empty handed.

Add this bit of kit, with some more sensors and add it to aa couple of CCTV cameras and one has good, strong security for the home. However, security systems are more of a deterent than anything else as amatuer burglars / thieves will stay away from propected properties but no security stops a professional. As professionals normally have something of value already known to them, as the target, it means most homes are well protected as not everybody has a 2million tiara, a 5million painting or keeps 200,000 in a safe at home. Professionals are not interested in one’s 1,00 Tv, 400 stereo etc. and amatuers won’t take the risk of getting caught if there is a security system.

Alone, this kit is a nice bit of security, with a couple of cameras and this is an excellent product as not only can an alarm sound, the property owner be notified, should a window or door be opened but the cameras can record the intruder so even if he / she does steal any goods there is more chance the thief will be caught in a quick enough time to recover most, if not all, of the stolen items.

The kit is so easy to install and comes with all the necessary bits and pieces. The only negative thing I can see with this product is that the sensors have disposable batteries rather than USB Ports to allow rechargeables but that is not really an issue as the batteries can last up to three years before needing to be replaced.

I am certainly recommending this nice bit of security kit as not only can it protect the property’s external boundary but with more sensors it can also protect sheds, garages and even internal doors to prevent unauthorised vaccess to particular rooms when holding social gatherings. It is well made, good quality and for the protection it can provide it is certainly good value.

Firstly what you see in the picture is what you actually get and each unit is made and finished with a very high quality. No tatty scraggy bits lying around your house. Perfect that there isn’t loads of wires, as who really likes having loads of wires on show.
Come very well packaged and protected.
I did struggled to get everything connected up but luckily I managed to get some help and they got it set up in no time. You need to download an app for installation. Placing the detectors in the right places was easy enough and don’t look out of place, honestly you wouldn’t know they were there they just fit into the decor brilliantly.
They do seem a little overpriced but to be fair can you put a price on protecting your home

This is a really nice alarm system. Installation is pretty easy and there’s some great features such as battery backup for the base station. Talking of the base station, it’s one of the nicest one’s out there. It has a clean modern look and the light ring at the top looks cool and makes it easy to see what state it is in wherever you put it. Installation of the sensors is an easy job thanks to the mounting options, the motion sensors are a little on the big side and could have done with being a little smaller but they work well. Price is another thing this alarm system has going for it, it’s one of the most competitively priced alarm systems out there especially when you factor in the smart home integration. I do wish they would have included a keypad or at the very least an external siren. Having a visible siren is a great way to deter thieves from attempting to break in. The alarm does come with a sticker you can stick in the window but it doesn’t really have the same effect. It’s still a good alarm system for the price but it’s missing a few things I would look for so it just depends on your needs and whether you’re happy to use just the remote and app for arming/disarming the alarm.

Simple and easy to install alarm with great features but lacks an external siren or keypad.

+ wireless, base is small, I like the all white design
+ good built quality for this price range
+ 2 motion and 4 door sensors with good transmission range
+ easy to install and use but needs some time, you need to download an app and creat an account to install it.
+ You need to pair each sensor and you can give a name to each one. Also you can setup actions for each sensor and their sensitivity
+ base has a backup built in battery that lasts 12hours
    + simple to use
    + no monthly subscription fees
+ works with Alexa but it is optional
+ good price point if you don’t want to spend much
    + remote control is nice
+ 2seconds motion delay on the motion sensor
+ door sensors can be configured to play a notification sound when they are activated
+ when you set this to away mode and you have a door or window open, it will ask you first to confirm your choice

    – sensors are bulky, especially the motion ones
    – There is no option to buy an extra remote control or info for any compatible extra sensors if you want to add on. So, I think this kit is suitable only for smaller houses.
    – The alarm sound comes from the base unit only, its loud to be heard in the house and outside but not so much by the neighbors(especially if all the windows are closed)
    – Easy to silence the alarm for burglars, neither the base or the remote control have a keypad. If you press the button on the base the alarm stops
    – No google home integration
    – Alarm is working only if the wifi is on and working!
    – No sim card option to get a call notification but for this price point I didn’t expect to have this.

For this price point, I was pleasantly surprised by this alarm system kit. Its great option for a small summer house or a shed that you do not want to spent a lot of money on alarms.

This promised to be everything we were after. Alas, it turns out that we have so many appliances running from our wifi box that it kept crashing.

It would stay connected for a minute & then stop. I don’t know all the tech talk as husband was the IT Operator (!) but alas, we couldn’t get it to work with our current set up.
Having said that, we passed it onto our daughter who had just moved into a new home & it works perfectly for them.

I use this, because of its range, in addition to the primary home alarm for various out buildings. Because of going in and out multiple times a day, I usually control using the Alexa next to the rear door. When I ask it to unlock, I am prompted for my 4 digit voice unlock code (you choose your own code) and then it confirms that the alarm us disarmed.

A couple of minor niggles. If, for example, to try to set it to what it’s current state is, Alexa tells you that something has gone wrong and the state is unknown. Where this catches me, is that I have an Alexa end of day routine that, among other things, tries to set the alarm in case I forgot earlier in the day. Probably just needs a minor software update from the manufacturer.

The other thing I woukd line would be an external alarm siren, rather than just sounding the base unit.

Finally, the alarms on the phone are very easy to miss. I would like to be able to set a loud, unique alarm on my phone if the alarm is trigger, rather than an easy to miss pop up.

Apart from these minor niggles, a good piece of kit.

An impressive kit for what you get, 2 motion sensors, 4 entry sensors, base unit, remote control fob, fixing screw kits for each products, as well as the self adhesive mounting pads, shaped to fit all items.

The Base unit is control via Plug Socket to USB-C cable, and has a battery backup in case of power failure, as well as all items having Battery’s included – these all need to have the plastic tabs firstly removed to make the connection after removed from storage.

These are all packed neatly into the shipping box, with the entry sensors under the motion units, and comes with instructions and a window sticker to inform of the intruders the house is alarmed. – a deterrent mostly.

The remote is easy to use, and can be placed on a set of keys, – although you only get one remote fob, useless if more than one person in the house…. (however, this can be linked to the app, needs to be set up in the same household, to arm or disarm also…)

I do like the SOS function on the remote that causes the alarm to sound if you see something you don’t like, or if you need help at all from a situation.

The system isn’t linked to any subscription etc, so running costs are minimal as a standalone package.
Best to place the base unit system near a top floor window etc to allow others to be able to hear it, as it isn’t an outside alarm box. This is fine to be just plugged in, as no wiring is needed at all.

It takes a little to setup the system, create an account and set up the alarm to it, but after it is done it works pretty good.

    Impressive Wireless ki

This X-Sense Security Alarm System is a great example of what can be done these days. Combining an app to make things easy and keep you informed via notifications, with Lithium batteries to avoid wires. In the box you get a base unit, 4 breaker switches, two sensors, a remote control and both the sticky pads and screws to fix them up. We chose to use the sticky pads because they are so quick and convenient and you don’t leave any holes in your doors and windows. As you can see from the pictures, the two parts of the entry sensors, or breaker switches as I would call them, don’t need to be exactly aligned to register as “closed” which worked out well for the back door which, due to it’s shape, I couldn’t find a way to exactly align the two halves.
Setting the system up is as easy as downloading the app, registering and then scanning the QR codes for each part you add to the system. The app is really very good, allowing you to individually set whether each switch sends you notifications or sets off the alarm or both. You can set up scenarios, for instance for when you are at home and another for when you go out. You can choose the sound that the alarm makes from a selection. The one thing we did find is that the alarm, even at full volume, was not very loud outside the house in the street but you could just hear it. Certainly the alarm is enough to scare someone who breaks in and at the same time you will receive an alert.
I’ve set up a few of the old, wired alarms in my time. This alarm was so quick and easy to set up in comparison and being able to control the alarm and receive notifications when you are away from home is brilliant. I think this alarm system is a great idea for anyone who wants to secure their home quickly and easily without needing wires or someone to help install it.

Easily setup and stuck everythingbip as I didn’t want to drill the wall yet. Sticky stuff works brilliantly they have been on the walls and doors and heating full on and they are still there. Alarm sound is loud although I wish the had an outside bell as well. Still worth the money and it’s nice to leave the house and know I will be alerted when someone is trying to get in.

Just as good as other systems from manufacturers like Ring. Compared to traditional home alarm and security systems it is much cheaper, much easier to use with less installation hassles. Every house should have something like this!

If you are looking for a security kit that can easily find out what’s going on around your home and can be easily managed through your devices, this one from X-sense is one of your best choices.

The kit has 4 motion sensors and 4 entry sensors that you can install in your house or even office to make sure that everything is secured and monitored. It has a wide wireless detection area since it adopts the latest spread spectrum technology. It has a transmission range of up to 1.25 miles so rest assured that your house is fully protected.

Moreover, it has customizable security settings so you can freely adjust and set the sensors according to your needs and liking. You can control this using the remote control that it comes with and the X-Sense Home Security App and once set up, you will be receiving notifications once the doors and windows open and when motion is detected.

To install this, just peel the film on the adhesive pads that it comes with and stick it on a flat surface. Make sure that the surface is well cleaned and dustproof so the sensors will not fall off. Make sure to always check the base station if it still has good battery life to make sure that the sensor works. You can recharge it once it is drained, just plug it in and let it charge.

I am indeed pleased with the performance of this security kit. The sensors are working properly just like what the brand is claiming, plus the warning sounds are loud enough to let me know that there is something unusual happening. The installation process took me quite some time, but when I knew which is which and where is where it just took me minutes to install them. This is good to partner with security cameras at night since it has sound alarms. It will absolutely wake you up if it detects abnormal activities.

Overall, I must say that this is a really good product. It does what it claims to be and most importantly, it is very easy to install without needing to call for an electrician. Highly recommended!

First off, what you see in the display pictures on this page is exactly what you get. Good, sturdy units, seemingly well-made, attractively finished and each complements the other. No untidy pieces to have lurking around your home and, even better, no unsightly wiring everywhere that you have to somehow hide.

Arriving in a fitted box, the whole kit looked exciting and comprises a really nice looking base unit that would sit comfortably on any shelf or table – keep it in clear sight though, that is important. Two motion sensors which are, as their name states, for detecting motion. And four sensors to fit onto doors and/or windows. Thankfully, these sensors do not have to be in extra-close proximity as the ones I have been using to date need to be, they can be up to just under an inch apart – which is important when considering the style of most double-glazed windows. A convenient remote control and an instruction booklet completes the main parts of the kit.

Setting up this security system will not be a quick job so you will need to set aside some hours after familiarising yourself with the contents. Firstly, read the instruction booklet carefully because each step needs to be completed in order, and one at a time. The X-Sense Home Security App (for Android and Apple) is needed to be downloaded first to your phone (or tablet), and you do need to register the kit, but it is an easy process and no real personal information is needed, so no worries there.

The base station is the first item to be set up – and your modem/router needs to support a 2.4 GHz wi-fi. I should imagine the majority of routers support this since it was the initial speed and people with newer models (such as I have) will find their routers support 2.4 and higher speeds. There are several pages of the instruction booklet to go through when setting up the base station but, although a lot of words, the instructions make full sense and if you follow them then you shouldn’t go wrong at all.

The additional items of motion sensors and entry sensors are set up next, one at a time – again following the step by step instructions in the manual. Now you can see this is not a 10 minute job, it needs a little care and attention. Full instructions are given how best to position the motion sensors.

The kit also comes with the necessary wall plugs, screws and backing mounts should you prefer to attach the items on a more permanent basis. Additionally, there is a set of double-sided tapes and so you can use these to affix the sensors if you prefer (I did prefer).

Because no two customer’s requirements are going to be exactly alike, the instruction booklet gives clear details on how to personalise the settings, especially for the motion sensors – for instance, ensuring the pet cat or dog doesn’t set off the alarm.

The small remote control is going to be particularly useful. It has buttons to disarm the system, the arm it, to show you are at home and emergency SOS action. It will be important to set up your system carefully, as I have mentioned, because you need to arm it before you leave home, and disarm it when you arrive back home. Therefore, you can set times in seconds of how long before the alarm is set off – giving you time to leave the armed area and to disarm when you return. You will need this delay otherwise you will end up being deafened by an alarm before you get a chance to go out (or return home and turn it off).

One additional benefit is that this security system can also be operated using Amazon Alexa. This also needs to be set up (and also in the Alexa app) but once up and running then you will be able to operate this kit as easily as you turn lights on and off. Alexa, arm my home. Alexa, disarm my home. Simple examples and is probably quicker and more natural than reaching for the little remote control.

Batteries are included, and the base station also houses a battery that will power it for up to 12 hours in the event of a power failure.

Question is, after all this, what do I think of the kit. I absolutely love it. Well-made, straightforward to set up (takes time but is worth it in the long run), many options available to personalise it for your own property, neat and good-looking contents, running 24/7 on Wi-Fi… to be honest, I found nothing negative at all. The price at the time of this review is stated as 179.99. Yes, there are other kits on the market competing and most at a higher price, and there are other kits that contain more and appear to do more, again at a much higher price. For what you get in this kit and for what it does, I find the price to be spot on and it is ideal for the smaller home, flat, outdoor area, single room, wherever you want to put it. A really good product.

I was pleasantly surprised with this security system, As it is a full bundle that covers many areas of the home without missing a beat. This 8-piece set has motion sensors that are not too sensitive that would trigger an alarm unnecessarily, But sensitive enough to know movement that should not be there, And alerts you straight away.

It can link into Alexa to make it easy to command by voice or from my phone. My only gripe is that the base lasts 12 hours on a backup battery, But this shouldn’t be an issue as power outages don’t usually last longer than several minutes. Overall, This is a very good security system with all the bells and whistles to get you started with a comprehensive bit of kit that’s not too hard on the wallet.

This is the first home alarm I’ve ever had so I was worried that it would be complicated to set it all up.
I needn’t have worried as the instructions are clear and easy to follow, as it’s not wired there’s no drilling or fiddly connections.
You get 4 entry sensors, which won’t be enough if you want to ensure every window and door is protected but you can buy more if you want. I’ve put mine on my front door and the windows in my maisonette that are easily accessible due to a flat roof. I live on the first floor so don’t have any windows downstairs, I’m comfortable that I’ve got the necessary entry points covered.
I had a good think about the best place for the motion sensors as I want to set my alarm when I go to bed, but don’t want it tripping when I get up in the night to go to the toilet. I’d got the front door covered so didn’t feel the need to cover the hall, so I chose areas without window sensors fitted, all areas are now covered in one way or another.
The base station needs to be plugged in but has a battery backup in case of a power cut.
The alarm is really loud and can definitely be heard outside.
Arming the alarm is really quick and simple, a remote control is supplied but you can use Alexa as well. This is the most intuitive way for me to remember to turn the alarm on, I ask Alexa to turn my living room lights off when I go to bed, so now I also ask her to turn on the alarm. Same routine when I get up.
All the sensors and motion detectors seem to be working as expected and I’ve now got my home securely protected for a fraction of the cost of getting it professionally fitted.
I can definitely recommend getting this, for ease of fitting and a good price.
Hope you found my review helpful

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis arrives very nicely boxed with a slip cover & measures approx 38cm x 16.5cm x 9.5cm.

Inside, there are the 2 motion detectors, with the 4 door sensors underneath them, the base station & a box at the side which contains fixings (there are wall plugs & screws or self adhesive fixing options for the motion sensors & the door alarms), a 3 pin plug on a power lead to use with the base station, a small remote control & instructions.

To set this up you will need your phone to download the app & use it to add each thing to your system.
I used an android & found the app in the PlayStore with no problems.
It was quick to download & install.
You have to set up an account & it will require a valid email address which it will send a code to for you to activate your account.
My email came through pretty much instantaneously so that was all very easy.

Then, you follow the instructions to add the base first, then one by one the other bits.
You have options to name each thing as you are adding them & it’s a really good idea because otherwise you get notifications that say “ABC123” (made up name) open & unless you are the sort of person who has no issue remembering codes you won’t have a clue which door is open or closed.
You can go back & rename them, but it’s easier to just do it at the time.

You can fit these in place before connecting them, but you will need to remove each thing from the mount to scan the QR codes on the back of them to add them to the system, so I did them as I was fitting them.

I chose to use the self adhesive options for mounting.
There are twice as many self adhesive tabs as there are things to mount, so you will have spares for putting them up again if you e.g. take them down to redecorate.
If you are likely to take them down multiple times I would recommend using the wall plugs & screws option.

With the sensors I REALLY wish it was possible to mount them in a corner easily.
If you want to do that (to get the best field of view for the sensor), you will need to get an angled block yourself to fix to the wall first & then mount the sensor to that as it has a flat back.
The flat on the back that fixes to the wall measures approx 5cm across & is 4cm high.

I was concerned that due to the mouldings around my doors & windows I would have trouble fitting the contact sensors but they can be fitted with almost 2.5cm (about an inch) gap between them & they still register as closed.
Once they are further apart than that they register as open, so you have a bit of space to play with in fitting & if you’ve already added that sensor to your system

To add to Alexa, you need to open your XSense app on your phone (the one you’ve been setting it up on), go to account then there is a page called Works with Amazon Alexa which gives you instructions.
They boil down to – have the Alexa app on your phone, find the X-Sense skill, link & enable.
To use with Alexa you need to remember the names of each item.
To arm/disarm you need to put a pin into Alexa to allow you to do this with your voice.
You will be really glad if you’ve given them easy to remember names at this point.

I really like the SOS function on this.
If you have an older relative or similar with this security system installed, then if they press that button the base station will sound an alarm, but it will also be sent to whoever has this set up on their phone so you could get a notification even if out of the house.
You can set more than one person to get the notifications, use your phone (wherever you are) to arm or disarm the system etc…
The bottom of the remote (which is small & measures approx 6.5cm x 3.5cm by about 1cm) has a place you can attach a cord so this could be worn on a lanyard or attached to a slim keychain & hooked at the waist.

All this with no ongoing costs.
These arrive with batteries already installed in anything that needs them & there is a back up battery in the base station which will work for up to 12 hours – if you have a power cut for longer, remove the batteries then put them back in to the sensors to reactivate if they don’t automatically reconnect.

This is really easy to set up, even for those not particularly tech savvy (as long as the person setting it up has a phone that can use apps.)
For some things, like the entry & exit timers or volume control you do need to use the app, but once set up you don’t have to have an app capable phone for basic usage if you don’t want the notifications (you get one for everything, ever motion detected, door opened etc..)
It’s better if you do, but not absolutely essential for ongoing use.

You also don’t have to use Alexa at all – she is optional.

The alarm sounds loud in the house if you’ve turned it up, but is not particularly audible outside the house if the doors are closed so it’s more to warn the occupants or scare off anyone who broke in rather than to alert the neighbourhood.

You can set an entry & exit timer (from none to 5 minutes each so plenty of time for most people) so you can get in & out of the house without setting it off, it works on heat sensors so can detect movement in the dark as well as in the daytime, has an adjustable volume from silent to rather loud & it’s easy to use.

Glad I have this & I’ll be looking out for a few more add ons.
You can add more sensors if you want, although I found the 2 motion sensors & 4 door sensors were enough for what I wanted.
I don’t know if you can buy a spare remote, but I hope the company will look into this.
You can also in theory add more sensors to it, but I haven’t seen anywhere you can buy sets of additional ones when looking earlier.
I also wish this had an external alarm (it comes with a sticker to display) but I’m really happy with all of it so far

I was also sent some smoke alarms by the same company & got quite excited to see smoke alarms were a thing you could link, but not the ones I’ve been sent apparently.
I wish they’d add clear info about which ones can be added to this system as I’d buy them like a shot.

This is now active & I’ll sleep well tonight (or possibly not if the alarm goes off)

This home security kit is very easy to install and will save you on the cost of an electrition. It comes with all that is required to have it going from screws to the rechargeable base station. The base station has a 105 dB loud alarm which is similar to the sound produced by a car horn. Also, the alarm cannot be switched off from the base station as it doesn’t have an off button which is quite cool and with built-in battery thieves cannot unplug it either. So it looks quite effective in driving out the thieves which I wanted as I already have cameras installed but to be honest if we are away and someone breaks in then just having cameras was not sufficient.

It took me around a couple of hours to get it installed and as it also comes with the double-sided sticky tape I didn’t even need to drill or screw anything.

It has its own app called X sense which works very smoothly and helps connect the base station with the home wifi and then with the sensors. It came with two motion sensors and 4 entry sensors which were sufficient for my place but the app has no limitation so additional sensors can be connected with the base in case you have a bigger place. I have not connected it to Alexa yet but having that additional option is good.

Overall this is a great product that does what it says and comes with a surprisingly easy to follow guidebook. Will highly recommend it if you need a security solution within budget.

Effective , easy to install with no wiring hanging around

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersI managed it even though I am 84 years old. The only criticism is that the screws for the door movement sensors are a bit too long for fitting to a wood door and the head of the screws is too small for most screw drivers. I would like one or two more motion sensors that will be available in the New Year.

It’s always been a fact of life that certain individuals choose a life of crime, and whilst pretty much nothing is 100% safe, you can do little things to make them think twice. Other reviewers have done a boss job of describing this product, and I’d agree with them. It’s a cheap, super simple system to install and use, and whilst it may not call the police in for you, I’d guess that a criminal would be feeling on edge breaking in already, and anything that catches them unawares (like a siren), may be enough to spook them into doing a runner, hopefully without your stuff.

I was impressed at how easy it is to set up the system. It’s all revolves around there free to download app. To add an item onto your system all you do is scan the QR code when in the app. There is a QR code in each of the bits of equipment. So you start off with the base unit get that set up using the QR code and then you can add and test each of the different sensors. I perhaps would’ve liked more motion sensors with this as opposed to the entry sensors. But the fact she gets six different sensors means she should be able to have most areas of your house covered. The flight style of the system is nice and with its neutral colour it blends in well with our downstairs area of the house. Initially I was a bit apprehensive that this alarm was indoors only and would be loud enough but when we were setting it up and tried it for the first time it certainly is very loud and would attract the attention of neighbours providing they are relatively nearby. There are pros and cons with this type of system. With our previous alarm system we had a box that was left up outside and it was very obvious we had an alarm system. And when the alarm system went off the box left top in addition to the outside sounds. However those types of systems usually need some sort of maintenance contract and this system does not. You can also strategically place your base unit to maximise the noise that at all Mets so it can be heard outside. We have ours police to the front of the house as that’s where our neighbours are closest to and pedestrians outside would be more likely to hear it. With the current voucher this system isn’t terribly much over 100 which does represent pretty good value for money. The app is decent enough but there is no integration with the likes of Alexa for instance but then again you would probably have to pay more money for a system that does have integration. I am not sure this system is for everyone but as an easy to install, effective and contract free system it is certainly worth considering.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersI ordered this alarm because my 22 year old daughter is moving into her first place by herself and I wanted to feel like she has some protection.

This alarm comes with two motion sensors, 4 door and window alarms, a hub type base unit and all the fixtures needed to use it.

It’s very simple to set up; you can use either screws or sticky pads to attach the various elements to walls, doors and windows and the hub simply plugs into a socket and comes with a good length lead.

The app that accompanies it is very simple to use, you just literally follow the instructions and you’re away in minutes!

The alarm is super loud. It really is! So if a door or window was to open whilst you’re sleeping then you’d definitely know about it. The app will also send notifications to your phone if anything is triggered whist you’re away from home.

This gives me some real peace of mind knowing my daughter will be safe by herself. It’s a great alarm that you can fit yourself without the additional cost of getting someone in to fit one for you. I love how simple it all is to work and how easy it was to set up both in her home and on the app.

    I definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersThis alarm system was easy to set up and install out of the box and connecting to the app was really simple. The app guides you through the installation process so it really is easy. We’ve never set up an alarm system before and previously couldn’t even figure out how to set up an indoor camera, so were amazed at how easy this was to fit.

We have dogs who have chewed through alarm wiring before so having a wireless system is a godsend for us. In our most recent house we’ve also had to disconnect the alarm system when fitting a new composite front door and frame so again a wireless system is more convenient if you’re planning on any home improvements.

The biggest plus point over a wireless system like this is that you can install it yourself and trouble shoot any issues yourself. Spending hundreds of pounds getting a wired system fitted and maintained just isn’t practical for a lot of people and certainly a lot of small houses just don’t warrant it.

We tested the alarm out and it’s really pretty loud. We live in a terraced house but the volume would be more than loud enough to alert half the street that something is going on. The instant alert to your phone app is also brilliant. If you combine this with an indoor camera of some type (if you can figure out how to set that up unlike us!), you’d have a brilliant complete system. Add some barking dogs in and you should have a pretty good deterrent.

As with a normal alarm you can choose not to activate the motion sensors in some rooms which we obviously need to do with having dogs in the house

We’ve only just fitted the system so I will update this review once it’s been up and running for a few weeks but certainly no problems so far and it seems like a cracking piece of kit for the price so good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 99 From Our UsersI am very impressed with the X-sense home security kit.
It came neatly and efficiently packaged in a box smaller than I imagined.
All of the components are present to install the system in the box including:
    Base station x1
    Motion sensors x 2
Entry sensors for doors or windows x 4
    Remote control x 1
UK 3pin plug for the base unit.
Screws and rawl plugs for all the sensors, (labelled in individual bags)
Double sided foam stickers cut to size for each sensor as an alternative to the screws.
    Long life lithium batteries.

The set up was really easy, download the app by scanning the QR code and follow the instructions on the app as it guides you through each step.
You need your password to your home WiFi for the setup.
The small compact base station speaks to you as you set it up and register each sensor and remote.
It displays a colour coded light to tell you if it’s connected to the WiFi.
The app then is the main control centre for the security system with alerts coming directly to your phone.
Each sensor can be adjusted in terms of sensitivity.
Entrance and Exit delays can be put in place so you can activate the device and leave before an alarm is activated.
The app also displays a real-time display of the status of each sensor even when you are in home or disarm mode, but won’t alarm.
I have included a video to show what the alarm sounds like when activated. It sounds loudly from the base unit and the light turns red.
It also sends a notification to your phone app telling you why it’s alarming and you can cancel the alarm on the app or by using the remote control.
You can add additional users to the app, so maybe a friend or neighbour could be alerted.
The remote control is very small so maybe needs to be located in a safe place, but the whole system can be operated by the app if needed.
I’m impressed with the sensitivity of the system, it’s ease of set up, the details in the design and the fact that so much is included in the box for the price.
The whole system is owned by yourself, the app is free and there is no ongoing charges.
There is no external alarm box on the outside of your house making this system ideal for a quick installation in your house and perfect for a rented home, a flat or a room in a house of multiple occupants.
I recommend the X-Sense home security system kit!

Great security system, easy to install with no fees.

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersMy first impression of the X-Sense Home Security kit, after opening the box and having a look at the contents inside, is a positive one. Unlike other kits, it includes a fair number of accessories that you’ll need to get your home secured. It includes 2 motion sensors and 4 door/window sensors which is enough to cover most access points to your home. I have a ring alarm currently fitted to my home and I had to buy additional sensors and keypads to accommodate my access points and I’m only in a 2-bed house, but the X-sense has enough to cover me without needing to buy anything extra which is a huge positive. The included instructions were easy to read, and I understood what the installation process would involve just from reading them. They give you just the right amount of information for a successful install but they don’t over complicate things so you don’t feel confused like some manuals can make you feel. X-Sense offer a 30-day refund policy, a 12-month warranty and lifetime technical support.

    –COMPONENTS–
The motion sensors are quite light but don’t feel cheap. They measure 12.4cm high and 6.7cms wide and can be fixed to your wall with either screws or sticky pads, which are also included for whichever option you choose. They can be mounted on a flat wall or in a corner of your room. The wall mount bracket is already attached to the sensor, and it comes away with a satisfying click, and allows the sensor to be removed easily once fitted to your wall. One of the things that stands out with the design is that they don’t have to be removed from the wall when it comes to replacing the batteries. The battery compartment is underneath, and the battery cover can slide forward, and the battery replaced with ease. They take a CR123A battery which is included in the kit.

The window and door sensors have a nice design to their shape with straight lines that fall with the curve. They are 8.2cms high and 4cms wide when both pieces are together. They use the traditional window/door sensor technology which utilizes a magnet. When the magnet is moved away from the main body of the sensor, it knows the door/window is open. They are light but again, they don’t feel cheap and look fairly modern. They can be attached to your doors or windows with either screws or adhesive pads which both are included. They take a CR123A battery which is included in the kit.

The base station has a clean, elegant look and has the aesthetics of an Apple product. There is an LED strip that runs around the top which will display different colours and will alert with a red light if an alarm has been triggered and different colours to tell you about any WI-FI problems if you should ever have any. There is a button on the front which can be used to silence the alarm if needed and a reset hole underneath if you ever need to reset it back to its default settings. The base station also includes a battery backup so if ever you have a power outage, your alarm will stay powered on until the power is restored up to a maximum of 12 hours.

The remote control is very small and runs on a CR2032 battery which is replaceable. It has 4 buttons which will arm and disarm your home and away modes, more on that during the setup.

    –SETUP–

    -Base Station-
Following the instructions, I downloaded the X-Sense Home Security app from the Play Store “Android”. Signed up for a new account and it sent a verification code to my email, which I put into the app, to activate the account. After signing into the app, I was prompted to add a device by swiping up the screen. I plugged the Base Station to the mains and the light started pulsing green which means it’s trying to connect to the WIFI. Click “Add Device” in the app and scan the barcode on the bottom of the Base Station. It will then ask for you to select your WIFI and enter your Wi-Fi password. The Base Station will tell you it’s connecting and then confirm if successful. In the app, click the cog at the side of the Base Station to set up the LED brightness, sound level and alarm level of the base station. In the app click on your account, on the bottom right of the account, you’ll see “Manage My Homes”. If you click it and click the Base Station name, you’ll see that you can manage your rooms. If you click “Rooms”, you can add more which you will need to do so you can tell the app where your security devices are.

    -Motion Sensor-
Insert the CR123A battery and click the red + icon in the app. Choose “Motion Sensor” and follow the on-screen instructions. Basically, you scan the barcode like before but this time you’ll need to press and hold the “Test” button which is underneath the wall bracket which is connected to the back of the motion sensor. The Base Station will tell you that a new device has been added and it will show in the app. Do the same with the other motion sensor if needed.

    -Entry Sensor-
Press the red + icon in the app and choose “Entry Sensor”. Follow the on-screen instructions. You’ll be doing the same as the others, scan the barcode on the rear of the entry sensor, install the battery and press and hold the “Test” button and the device will be added. Do the same with the others as needed.

    -Remote Control-
Tap the red + icon in the app and choose “Remote Control”. Scan the QR Code on the rear. Now I got a little stuck here as the instructions then tell you to hold both the “Home” and “Disarm” Buttons together and the app doesn’t seem to respond, neither does the Base Station. All I had to do was click “Name” in the app and give a name to the remote control. After I did that, I could click next in the app and then it told me to press the two buttons together.

    –TIME TO USE IT–
You have 3 different modes to choose from. You have “Home” for when you are settling down for the night and staying in. “Away” mode for when you are leaving the property and of course “Disarm” mode to turn the alarm off. Each mode can be configured so “Home” mode I have set to alarm if the entry sensors are tripped but not monitoring the motion sensors as you will be roaming around the house. I have set “Away” mode to sound the alarm if any of the sensors are triggered so that includes doors opening and detected motion. “Away” mode will give you 30 seconds to disarm the alarm before the alarm is triggered so that will give you time to get in and put your bags down.
Using the remote control is simple. You have a button for each mode, and you simply hold the button for three seconds to activate the mode. If you want to disarm it, simply hold the “Disarm” button for 3 seconds and the alarm will be disarmed. It can also be controlled via the app and it’s easy to navigate and set your modes from wherever you are so if you remember that you forgot to set the alarm while you’re out, you can do it on the app and check the status etc..

    –CONCLUSION–
I like the simplicity of this alarm and I think it would suit people who aren’t really tech savvy. I installed this in my mums’ house and it’s easy to just control it from the remote control and she can get on with that. With me loving technology, I find the features a little basic, but I feel this was what X-Sense was aiming for with this alarm kit. It’s easy to setup, the instructions are easy to follow apart from the setting up the remote control, see above, so nearly anyone can install it themselves.

    –THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE–
I’m not keen on the button on the base station. If the alarm is sounding, you simply press this button and the alarm turns off. Easy to do for a burglar but also easy to do if your mum forgets where she put the remote so it’s a pro and a bit of a con. Would the burglar know what to press? Who knows but the alarm would already be sounding and if you connected to the internet on your phone then you would have already received the alert. I couldn’t see any option in the app to control what the button did so it is what it is and can’t be changed yet. I’m also not keen on the voice they have chosen which speaks the commands. It’s a little hard to understand what she is saying sometimes due to the thick American accent they have used. A different, more clearer accent would be beneficial but you can still tell what mode you’re in by the different coloured light on the base station.

The main thing I didn’t like about the X-Sense alarm system is that there is no countdown to when the alarm will sound. If you set the alarm in “Home” mode and you have a visitor to the front door for example, you may forget to disarm the alarm first and answer the door. There is no series of beeps or countdown or anything to notify you that the alarm will sound in 15 seconds, or whatever you set the entry/exit delay to. The base station just sits in silence until it starts screaming the alarm at you in which you time you are frantically reaching for the remote to shut it up before you wake the neighbours. You can of course set the volume level to the alarm so it’s not so loud but then why have an alarm if it’s hard to hear. This also works the same for “Away” mode. You can set the entry delay time before the alarm goes off when you get back home. You may forget the alarm is armed or have your hands full and forget about it, there is no warning that the countdown has been triggered until the alarm sounds.

I have been in contact with X-Sense asking if this could be added via an app update or firmware update to the base station and they have passed my feedback to their Technical Department to “improve their product quality in the future” in their own words. Not sure if that means they are looking into it or this will be added to a future product, I’m not sure but their support seemed quite helpful. It took 2 days for them to reply to my initial question and then they were replying within the hour after they got back to me the first time so I’m happy with their customer support response time.

I’m happy with this alarm and I’m confident it is within the scope of my mums’ abilities to remember how to work it thanks to its simplicity. If not, I have full access to the alarm on the app via the internet, to control it from my end if ever any problems arise so that’s a great plus. A good, simple smart alarm I believe was their aim, and they achieved it.

An easy to use home alarm system

Golden Review Award: 69 From Our UsersThis X-Sense alarm kit comes with 2 motion sensors and 4 entry sensors. They are all battery powered (battery included) so you are don’t have to think about wiring, and the batteries will last around 5 years according to the specification.

To set up, you will need the X-sense home security app on your phone. It takes under 10mins to link all the devices to the base station using the app, very easy and straightforward.

Installation of the sensors are also very easy and quick. The kit comes with adhesive tapes, screws and wall plugs, you have the choice of sticking them on or screwing them on.

The app is definitely a winner here. There are so many configurations or sensitivity adjustments you can play around to suit you need. you may set push notifications to your phone without sounding the alarm, which is very useful when you have pets, for example, before I go to bed, I could set all the motion sensors to notify on phone only but keeping all the entry sensors alarm active, so my cat won’t trigger the alarm but anyone entering the doors or windows will still trigger the alarm. Greatly reduces false alarms.

The base station is powered via adaptor, it needs to be powered constantly. However, in case of intruder unplugging it, the base station will switch to the built-in rechargeable battery, so the alarm will still go off. The range between the base station and the sensors is about 1 mile before it cuts off, so intruder can’t just throw it out of the window.

When the alarm is triggered, you could here it from the end of the street with 105db.

There is a remote comes with the kit, you can use it as a panic button or to arm/disarm the alarm, just need to hide it in a safe place. I always like a physical remote as a backup in case I lost my phone or ran out of battery.

The only downsides I could find is the motion sensors are a little old fashion and quite big. The hanging bracket only allow a straight-up hanging on the wall, to install them at an angle as you would normally do will require extra brackets.

Overall, I like this system very much. Easy to install and easy to work with. There are a lot of customisations you can set from the app makes it really user friendly.

This does everything I need and more, absolute bargain!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersA very good choice if you want a home alarm set that needs no DIY or IT knowledge to set up. The sensors fit to the wall via sticky pads, and once you link it to the app you can set them for sensitivity to pets, etc. The alarm is interior to the house, but it’s extremely loud and will certainly see off any intruder. There’s also a very handy SOS alarm included, part of the remote, which will send an alert to your phone. Altogether a really good, simple home security system

It looks great too, especially in a minimalist modern interior. Highly recommended.

Imagine, you are off doing your job of breaking into houses, mindind your own business and being as quiet as a mouse then you get hit with 105db alarm, it would cure the severest case of consipation known to man.

Joking aside, easy to install although I had to pack ot the window sensors as I have recessed windows, once I got them levelled the rest was easy, no wiring to do, and instant notification via the app when it went off. No monthly fees for monitoring.

I would like to have had more than one remote, don’t know if you could buy these seperately.

I hope I never hear it going off for real.

Golden Review Award: 100 From Our UsersNow if you are security conscious and looking to protect your home and family from intruders, then you could do a lot worse than give serious consideration to the X-Sense smart home security system.

First of all, from the get go this looks and feels like a premium product and immediately eased any concerns I had prior to receiving. It is a beautifully designed bit of kit that has everything needed to get started without the need for professional installation.

Once sensors are fitted and the base station has been switched on and connected the X-Sense home security app really comes into its own and gives clear and concise step by step instructions on how to get set up.
Now I understand using apps and the like can be daunting but the X-Sense app is intuitive and very easy to navigate. Setup is done within a few minutes and the system is up and running.

On testing we set the alarm and triggered it by opening the front door and subsequently jumped out of our skins at how loud the alarm siren was, which is exactly what an intruder wouldn’t expect or want. Our neighbours came out to check on us and we Instantly received a message on the mobile to inform us that the alarm had been triggered and where the breach occurred.
One click on the remote control to disarm the alarm, so no trying to remember alarm codes etc which is great as I’m terrible for forgetting numbers.

The SOS feature is very good particularly for the less mobile or elderly as it’s a simple click on the remote control to trigger and alert the household that something is amiss. Again the message on the phone to inform that the SOS alarm is triggered is pretty much instant which could prove invaluable in the event of a loved one requiring immediate assistance with nobody around at the time.

Simple, effective and above expectations. No fees, just a great system that gives peace of mind and effective security.

    Alarmingly good.
