This is really high quality material. The stitching is really heavy duty and wont be falling apart. I was a little shocked by the weight when it arrived. I was expecting something more light weight.
So the stuffing came first, I elected for the old fashioned Argos was they used to fill their bags, nappies. Not used or anything mind, just cheapo ones from Aldi. Crumpled them up and pushed them in.. then repeat. I added in some old clothes as well but we didn’t have enough of those laying around. Once pushed down enough it was pretty robust.
Very impressed with the hooking mounts, These are severely heavy duty and I cant see them ever breaking.
Whilst this is a tad on the pricey side. its well worth it.
It is quite heavy-duty with strong built quality. Heavier as well due to leather and thick chain. The material seems durable and reliable. More like professional equipment in the boxing gym. Can be easily filled with a suitable filling material.
Instructions were easy to follow. Came in plastic packaging.
The price is reasonable in my opinion.
Overall, I am happy to own it and will recommend.
I have been keen to get my hands on a training bag for some time, but most of the traditional bags are pre filled which means you have to select a weight you want and you can’t change it. Another thing with these traditional bags is storage, I don’t have the room to have it up all the time, so storing it is an issue as they are large, heavy and you risk damaging it moving it constantly.
This is an absolute game changer, a self-fill bag! I was also pleasantly surprised that you can actually fill this with cardboard or paper as well as sand and other clothes/rags which gives you versatility when filling your bag. It also gives you the flexibility to adjust the weight as you want which is fantastic.
The quality of the bag is outstanding, the stitching is impeccable, the material feels strong and of a high quality. The chains are also strong and well positioned to ensure the perfect hanging without any tangles or worries.
I am so impressed with this, I feel this is well worth the investment and compared to other bags, I don’t feel this is overly pricey. Highly recommend.
This punch bag is very heavy and tough to set up due to the heaviness of the leather and the thick chains. However, once set up this thing is fantastic. All the materials used feel like they’re the best quality and resistant to wear, I’m very impressed by this because usually punch bags within this price range aren’t as durable.
This is about as close as you can get to professional equipment and seems like something I’d see set up at a local boxing gym, it feels great to train on and once filled it becomes extremely heavy. The thick chains give you the comfort of knowing that the heavy bag is securely held up.
Instructions were clear to follow, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a fair price and a fantastic piece of equipment for their training.

The important thing to remember is to get the filling right, a mixture of fabric and a little sand or sawdust will work a treat. The bag itself is easy to fill, and comes with clear instructions on how to do this, and as it is self fill, you can load it with more or less weight to match your own style.
The material is very heavy duty and you can really tell the quality, it is thick and seems durable, and the stitching seems strong.
The bag comes complete with good length chains and clips for hanging, again, all good quality and should last your years with the right care.
It is on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for.

When I ordered this punch bag I was expecting a fully filled and loaded bag, I was not expecting an empty bag cover and attachments.
When I looked into advert in further detail it very clearly states it’s a self fill bag hence the cheap price. Fully my mistake but I’m sure others will make the same mistake, this is a self filled punch bag.
For me and many others who buy a new bag is to replace an old one, does work out great value as I just removed contents from old bag and filled this new one.
Bag can be set to to own personnel requirements and is more than capable for a heavy fill. Strong and robust attachments for hanging bag in your gym.
Overall, bag looks amazing and very professional. Only suitable if you are going to sell fill bag.

Good size and well stitched punch bag ready for self filling, easy to hang and good value for money
I like to kickbox, But often find that eventually the punchbags wear down and fray at the edges, Which often means it’s time to replace them. This is a heavy-duty bag, So it can handle a lot of punching and kicking without any issues with wear or tear.
I couldn’t find any negatives, As this is a full comprehensive piece of kit, With both chains, Swivel and Carabiners included. I like that the bag is self fill, As it would be a nightmare to carry around otherwise.
So far, So good.
So pleased with this punchbag. I’ve wanted one of these for ages and never got around to it. What an addition to a workout. Brilliant.
Packing — 90% of the experience comes down to this. If it’s packed right it will be brilliant for years.
I’ve got for the combination method of sand and old material (instructions included); there are also a number of videos out there as people have their own opinions. I still have some work to do to get it perfect though as I want to add some more sand down the middle. I’ve gone for small bags of kiln dried sand as I had some left over from filling a garden roller. Kiln dried sand won’t go moldy. In the meantime, I’ve finished off by — er — borrowing some duvet/pillows from the loft as they’re not being used.
The best way I’ve found of compacting is to stand in the bag. Really shove the material down to the bottom.
The chain system is fantastic. When hanging the chains on the carabiner, I’ve found it most stable by putting them on in order of opposites rather than 1 to 4 in a circle (if that makes sense). I need to get another ceiling hook as the placement of my current one wasn’t designed for this bag so I’m limited as to what I can do until I sort this as my bag is too close to the wall but it’s quite good for fast fist impact work as it doesn’t move too far but no good for leg work at all.
The leather is really thick and once filled, the top zip works well; it’s a bit fiddly when the bag is empty. The stitching looks and feels very strong. I’ve really pulled at the stitching and made no impact whatsoever.
59.00 for the 3ft bag feels really reasonable for this quality.
An absolutely over-the-top construction means this can not only take a lot of weight, but it looks like it will take a lot of punishment too!
The bag is pretty heavy when empty (5kg), and is made of thick padded leather-like material. The thick chains are already connected to the riveted straps, and have big carabiners and swivel joint, all heavy-duty.
Most of my gym bags have either split or gone at the straps. This looks like it’s addressed both those problems. Filling with old rags is generally good enough for toughness, but sand does make it heavier and less prone to swing about. Depending on what you’re doing will decide which way to fill. Either way, the limiting factor is what you’ll be hanging this from.
Looks the part and certainly takes punishment. My son and myself have been really giving this a thorough workout (karate mainly – and no padding on hands or feet) and it’s been a joy, showing no signs of wear at all.
Considering the effort for re-filling a bag, it’s worth paying more for one that will last.

Always wanted a punch bag. I can only compare to the ones I used at the gym. So my husband has hunged it in the garden summer house. He filled with sharp sand. Not sure if its the right thing to do, but seems to be fine.
The chains are super strong, holds it perfectly.

Very impressed by this. You get a decent bag for the price, with quality stitching and complete with hangers and chains (with a twist section). You can buy pre-filled bags, however they aren’t anywhere near the quality of this.
I actually really liked how you can fill it yourself to suit your weight/level. If you need a lighter bag, old clothes only, if you need extra weight in there, small bags of sand in the centre. The pre-filled offerings don’t offer this level of customisation.
The bag itself is a faux leather with really strong stitching, it’s going to take some serious abuse (and already has done).

This arrived packed in a plastic bag and it felt heavy even before I filled it!
I filled it with Blankets and clothes that we no longer use, it took a while as it’s a big punch bag, you can load upto 50kg of filling.
The quality is really good, it’s been made very well, the stitching is perfect with a highly durable zip.
The outer is made of a thick Matte canvas.
It comes with 4 hanging chains and 4 carabiner clips for easy installation.
Hubby has hung this in one of our outbuildings as he’s slowly getting more stuff to create a mini gym…. Its safe and secure.

I’ve very little experience with boxing. It’s great cardio, so I wanted to get something to use at home.
This bag is solid! The chains look like they’ll last a long time and the bag will be able to take a beating.
I don’t really know what this kind of thing tends to cost, but 50 to 60 for something so well built seems reasonable.
My first impressions are the chains are really heavy which adds confidence that it’s a quality punchbag you get to carabiner clips One clip to hold the chains which is connected to a swivel boat which is in connected to another carabiner brilliant.
I’ve checked the Support straps that go to the chain as that’s where all the weight will be holding and I’m really impressed with how they are made but only time will tell.
You got a small leaflet which advises you how to fill the bag which is really descriptive and it’s strange to say use old clothes bags interesting mix.

This is a review of the XL Tank 4FT punch bag and not the other sizes featured on this Amazon page.
This is a serious piece of kit. It comes unfilled but still weighs around 5Kg. When filled, depending on the filling, it can weigh up to 80Kg. This makes clear while the manufacturer sells unfilled rather than filled bags. Moreover depending on your training routine you can select the most suitable filling. This can range from a core of bags of sand to a collection of old clothes cut up with any zips or metal studs removed. It’s also possible to buy ready-cut fabric to fill the bag. Whatever the filling, the canvas design, double stitching, and strong zips together with metal handing chains mean this bag will survive pretty much anything. To be honest by biggest concern is finding a suitable way of attaching the bag to the ceiling such is its filled weight.
The only serious concern I have is the price. At time of review this specific bag is available for a little under 70 but it has a list price of 99. These seems costly to me no matter how robust it is. As a result I’ve dropped a star for this.
So an adaptable punch bag which is very strong but a little costly and you’ll need to figure out how to hang such a weighty item to a suitable ceiling.

Have to say I was blown away when this arrived.
For the price, i was expecting thin canvas, cheap stitching, etc.
However, this is a beast of a bag and really is a top of the range product.
A lot of that comes down to the fact you have to fill it yourself, but that really is the only way to get such a high quality bag without paying a kings ransom.
After a bit of googling, I filled a half dozen heavy duty carrier bags with sand and taped them up. I put one sand bag in the centre and packed it with shredded fabric round the sides before placing the next sand bag on top and repeating.
Worked pretty well but after a week of use it had settled quite a bit so i had to pack a load more fabric in the top
Very good quality punching bag. Comes with all the necessary fixings for you to set it up properly. Only thing you’ll need is the sand to fill it up. It’s a very good quality product though.
Ok full disclosure I haven’t actually stuffed this and hung it up yet but I wanted leave an first impressions review for now and update later.
Anyway this thing is an absolute unit! It’s massive and the leather is thick and tough. The chains are much thicker than they need to be and they seem to be riveted onto the bag somehow rather than stitched. Also comes with a 360 degree swivel thingy that again is properly chunky. I was honestly laughing to myself as I unpacked it as it’s almost comically over the top- feels like professional gear and probably more than I really need to be honest!
The instructions say to fill bags with sand and then stuff clothes / rags around them but I’m not sure I’ll even bother with the sand as I think it’s going to be heavy enough as it is. One word of warning – it’s gonna be at least a two man job (if not three) to actually hang this thing up…
Came with two strong clips and swivel and all the chains which I was not expecting – I chopped up some old clothes (took ages however cleared out lots of clutter haha) and put some packaged sand down the middle my bag weighs over 50kg and you can tell it’s an incredible quality canvas – nice affordable way to get a great bag at this price point you would never be able to afford this quality unless you get self fill.
Chain was too long for me but I used the clips provided to shorten the chain length – Filling takes time but end result is very satisfying and good, I’m impressed with strength of the bag i dragged the filled heavy bag Agaisnt bricks as lost grip when taking it down and canvas was absolutely fine I also filled bag too heavy to start with and packed in so much I was worried would damage zip (I really packed the filling in to the point I was wrestling to close the zip and it was absolutely fine for weeks) then weeks later I decided to refill and take out sand to make it lighter and zip worked perfectly it’s been out in the rain and sun and it’s clear I could re stuff/top up lots and fully pack bag with no risk of damage to zip or canvas. I really like that I can change the weight of the bag as now have a bag which is the perfect weight for me through trial and error and refilling.
Filled mine with sand and fabric and made it very heavy and I must say the bag is actually much better quality than in the picture but the price sold me compared to filled!
