Love the screen quality, the fact its portable, the massive screen resolution and added software, and lots of spare nibs, brilliant.
Easy to set up , I did have a couple hiccups setting it up but turns out I didn’t have the hdmi plugged into the graphics card directly .
Easy to calibrate as it has its own app on the computer in which you can directly sort out the tablet
Its able to be used with most drawing applications. I personally use art rage
This is an amazing screen to use all round, the pen is fantastic, the stand is strong and great adjustments for healthy position while drawing and easy on the neck
Bought as Christmas present for 15yr old, who absolutely loves it. So far it does everything needed for animation, easy to set up and easy to use.
I bought the tablet directly from XP-Pen, not Amazon, on a deal price of 299.99 (the deal is STILL running till September 14 2020). Strangely, the tablet, which was supposed to be coming from China was delivered to me through Amazon in less than three days. Very good service indeed! Probably the same warehouse.
I’m quite happy with the tablet, but there are certain things you should pay attention to:
– There’s a degree of parallax, but you get used to it very quickly. I’m not very fussy, however, considering I’m mostly a traditional artist. I mainly use the tablet for teaching art and quick sketches and warm-ups (it stops me wasting a lot of paper).
– If you like things neat and tidy on your desk, you’ll need a good cable tidy to sort out the three chunky wires that come out of the tablet (HDMI, USB, power). Not a deal breaker.
– If you, like me, use a Macbook, you’ll need an adapter USB/HDMI to USB-C.
– If you can’t afford Photoshop, this tablet works perfectly well with Krita, Sketchbook, and Medibang – all are free softwares. I personally use Krita and it has pretty much all the features I require.
BEWARE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE ******** Why?
XP-Pen customer service, I believe, is located in China. They usually respond to your emails within 48 hours. Sometimes, however, they tend to misunderstand your English.
When my tablet first arrived, I couldn’t figure out why it was flickering or why I couldn’t get the pen to work properly. I sent the customer service an email requesting a return, but so far nothing (it’s been a week). Luckily, I managed to sort out the problem myself. The point is, if you buy directly from the company, returning the item will be a painful process and will take a very long time. It’s not a straightforward process like on Amazon. You’ll need to email them, then they discuss the issue with you, then they send you an address to return to, then you book courier, and so on…
All in all, it’s a very good piece of kit.
Being a Graphic Artist and Comic Illustrator, I really wanted to purchase a great quality drawing tablet with a decent size and technical quality to it. I obviously can’t afford the 1,000+ models from WACOM, but XP-PEN are certainly the next best thing at very reasonable prices.
The display and colour is absolutely gorgeous, the sensitivity of the pen is so clear and precise, the setup takes you about 2 mins and then you’re ready to go.
My only cons:
– Sometimes when drawing for a while, as the screen is glass, you will get the occasional squeak from your hand and pen. But, that’s really a tiny little nit pick.
– The slots for all of the cables are at the bottom of the back compartment as well. If you like the screen slanted at an angle like I do, the USB and Power cables will be fine, but it’s the HDMI lead that I was worried about bending. However, the best way around this is by also buying the 90 degree HDMI adaptors. I fitted it and the tablet works like an absolute dream with no damage issues to the wires.
Overall, if you’re looking to get a good quality pen display tablet with a good size and reasonable price, this is definitely for you.
I had issues with it on my pc but my mrs pc no issue so accuraccy not 5 star *
Excellent product, if you cannot afford the Wacom stuff, this is every bit as good…That said though watch the parallax, it can be a pain. Other than that, a very good pen and screen that comes highly recommended
I have only ever had a tablet and this was the first time buying a tablet monitor and after a lot of research I decided on this and I am not disappointed.
I am a 3d artist and the monitor works extremely well with Zbrush, also with other applications (2D).
Set up was very easy too and the customer service was very helpful and resolved my issues very quickly.
Thanks XP
I have been a digital artist for about 14 years and have used a graphics tablet and mouse for most of that time. I was looking to enhance my medium, after touch screens came out and found really expensive ones that looked perfect for the job from more famous brands, I found this and had to try it out.
After two years of using this to create digital art, design tribal tattoos and for restoring old photos, post editing Landscape photography RAW files, I have to say it has been reliable and after the initial learning curve, I will be using this for years to come as the only way to create digital artwork.
Very nice and easy to set up. Very good picture quality, and pretty decent response with pen. Anyone having trouble with lag or crashes try turning off windows ink in tablet settings, then change the 1 to a 0 in Adobe prefer setting notepad (c user app data roaming adobe) should sort out all lag and pen pressure/opacity problems.
Hoenstly I was looking for a nice large drawing tablet for my art work whilst I am studying at university. Each day that I have used this, it has been great with all my programs and was easy to set up with help form my computer wiz partner.
Setting up didn’t take long once it was all set up. The pen is a nice comftable size and the glove given with is amazing with the screen and comftable even for my smaller hands. The screen is large and fits well on a desk as it stands up perfectly with its string stand on the back. Would recommend to anyone for this Prince. It’s an amazing tablet for all artists.
I have used many screen graphics tablets before and this one is by far the best i have ever used, its screen is silky and smooth, the pen is outstanding and perfect and the quality and durability is overall the shine of this product, i would recommend this to anyone.
This is my second graphics tablet/monitor, as I actually owned a more expensive Huion one before this and can safetly say it easily matches in performance. There is no touch screen on these models, (which is very useful for pinch and zoom etc.), but it is easy to live without, and you save a small fortune compared to others out there. 22″ screen is perfect size for me too, but not very portable, so it’s better for a more permanent work space.
Software was a breeze to install, quick calibration and it was ready to use. The free software download is great as well, top notch with a choice between two solid apps. Even got sent a free gift of second pen as well!
The moniors stand in particular is wayyy better than my old Huion, (which had the most awful stand ever). This one is slick and easy to use, fully adjustsble at the flick of a switch.
The active pen is nice to hold, has usual array of extra nibs and charges by usb fairly quickly. The little stand is a bit poor though, as the pen tends to falls off all the time. If I was to be picky, it could have included some buttons for shortcuts, but it really doesn’t matter much.
Therefore, I really cannot fault this great tablet, it’s a solid bit of kit, esp. at this price!
Very good one. Now that have it I regret a bit that I didn’t buy the one with buttons.
This is a desktop screen not portable. Works fantastically, a bit fiddly to setup but now doing great work.
Size is perfect, quality is great and this tablet is really easy to use.
Easy to set up and even easier to use! It really feels like you’re drawing something compared to screenless tablets that feel like a blindfold exercise. The screen quality is amazing and it doesn’t get over warm and the noise from the built in fans is negligible.
Good buy for the price. Great support team. I recommend to Mid-weight designers. Might not be the best for Hollywood projects, but quite superb for digital arts.
I have had this tablet for a year now, I wanted to wait and see if it would last a full year, whether the screen would get scratched, how long the pen battery lasts, etc. I got the one without the buttons because I am happy using my keyboard for shortcuts.
I pretty much only have positive things to say about this tablet. It changed my life and got me to fall in love with digital painting all over again. Before getting this tablet, I had a Wacom Intuos pro, but I really craved the feeling of drawing on an actual screen/paper, as I find it to be much more satisfying for me.
First of all, the installation was flawless. No issues whatsoever. It works perfectly with Photoshop and with Clip Studio Paint, the main two programs that I use. I was truly shocked by how easy it was to install this tablet, compared to the problems I have run into with Wacom. You plug it in, install the driver, restart, done! It was a good year ago now, but I just remember it being super easy to get things running.
The pen battery is truly incredible, and the pen itself is super light and comfortable to use. I have only charged it once, and the battery wasn’t even flat when I did. I use my tablet quite frequently. On average, I’d say I draw on my screen tablet 2-3 times a week and I use it for a whole afternoon-evening, if not the whole day to make my digital paintings.
The screen is glass, which in the beginning scared me – I didn’t want to accidentally scratch it with the pen. But, I didn’t want to get a matte protector either cause I didn’t want the screen to be blurred. Now that I have gotten more comfortable with it and apply a good amount of pressure and don’t fear the scratching, I have to say I’m surprised that some people have managed to scratch the screen. I think your tip needs to get to a very fine point to be able to properly scratch this screen. Just make sure you check that your tip has not formed an edge, and you will be fine. I personally haven’t had to change the tip yet even!
I haven’t had any lag problems with programs, and I may have needed to restart my computer maybe just once because of connection problems. I don’t even want to count the amount of times I had to do it before with my Wacom. This tablet has really changed my life and it was the best gift I gave to myself. Not only do a draw more now, it’s also just so much more enjoyable and faster. I am so pleased with XP for making more affordable tablets and giving such a good experience. I can’t wait to get more of your products in the future!
As I want this review to be fully honest, the only con is that I found is that the tablet is slightly brighter than my monitors when it comes to colour. But, with a bit of testing, it’s no issue anymore – and I’m not even sure if my monitors are accurate with their brightness. Having tried Wacom screen tablets before, the colour quality on this XP Pen is superb and I really have no complaints, it might just be something to consider with your calibration if you get this tablet!
I think that’s about it! FULLY recommended!!
Instructions were very limited and involved trial and error to get the scree
Love it so far.
Beautiful big screen, lines are smooth, no lag and fine colors.
The packaging was nice and sturdy – the tablet came in two boxes.
Though I had to buy a european plug for the battery and an HDMI to mini displayport adapter for my Lenovo separately, setting up was super easy, no problems with the drivers.
This really is a fantastic bit of kit. I’m only using this for hobbies (some illustration work and some photo retouching), but it’s a huge step up from cheaper tablets (withough screens) that I’ve tried before. Working directly on the image is so much more intuitive, and makes a huge difference in quality and enjoyment. I’ve not used products from Huion or Wacom etc, so I can’t say how this compares, but it’s absolutley perfect for my needs (mainly using Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint Ex). The display is sharp, the stylus is responsive and the whole package feels like a robust, quality product. On top of that, customer support has been fantastic – I had an odd issue that I contacted XP-Pen about (through Amazon) and they came back with a series of suggestions that got me back up and running. If you’re considering a tablet at this price point, I can’t imagine a much better product. Highly recommended all round!
Happy with how easy it is to use and set up
Having tried and failed to use Wacom tablets over the years I thought I’d give this a go. The issue with the Wacom pads for me was their disconnection from the screen, my brain just couldn’t handle the separation. This tabletworks well, it has a very good feeling to it and the adjustable angles means it can be altered to be just right. The pen is very good and easy to use. The only criticism I’d have of it would be over the resolution/quality of the screen which could be better it seems a tad dull to me..
Great product but I feel like drives should be on a disk with the produc
Love this. My first screen tablet. Not disappointed. Installation on my MacBook Pro went well. The 22inch screen gives loads of room to rest my hand and the colour is great. Using Photoshop for storyboarding and painting speeded up my workflow considerably and increased creative flow as well.
Super fast delivery. Excellent product. Got this for my daughter she loves it takes a little practice with the pen pressure. Was easy to set up downloaded latest driver on xp pen site before you turn on.
I have not had to twerk it yet .very accurate
This is an excellent product. I am very much a beginner to digital art and found this so easy to use once you familiarised yourself with whichever software you are using. I am using free open source programmes namely, Medibang and Krita. Also using the downloaded full version of Open Canvas which is free if you contact XP Pen for the activation key.
Customer service is excellent. I can’t praise them enough with quick responses and very patient. Top marks here. Got this on Prime Deal day and save quite a bit.
I absolutely.. love it!
I’ve always wanted to get a large tablet like this. Its phenomenal. It’s easy to use, easy to set up and a dream come true.
XP PEN 22 PRO
Notable PRO’S
Easy to set up – Worked more or less instantly
basically doubles as a v. nice 22″ monitor
Came nicely boxed and protected. Haven’t taken plastic sheet off screen yet.
Very accurate and an overall pleasure to work with compared to other tabs I’ve used
Stand is incredibly sturdy and easy to adjust to suit
Notable Issues (not even issues, just scares)
(Scare) Tablet wouldn’t function properly with any other driver installed. Pen used to disobey and not click onto tools properly. (PS CC). (They do tell you to remove other drivers and worked instantly after that)
(Scare) Pen randomly stopped working. – Just low battery. No method of indication of low better. While charging, there’s a small, green light.
(Scare) Lagged once or twice when drawing on A4 sized canvas. (not my pc)
Doesn’t like dual monitoring (disable/unplug one to fix)
All issues so far have been fixable by turning the tablet off and on again, or restarting the driver. That being said, these issues are VERY small
Concern: The pens only came with one cable, tiny pin to USB. I’d be worried about breaking it.
Went from a 10 year old bamboo wacom tablet to this. Wow it was a massive change. I did rush in buying this because it went on sale and I wanted to carry on doing digital art as I lost the spark after my old tablet struggling to understand two monitors lol.
It was worth the money, bigger than I thought since I didn’t measure anything before so having two monitors already and a pc on the desk is quite a hassle. Usually end up getting rid of one monitor and using this tablet as a second.
Have bought kids 1 each of these & not one issue with them.
The artwork they have produced is unbelievable
it’s my first screen-tablet, so it,s a very interesting thing! the screen is pale a bit (for me), there are small feather delays (very small) but it comfortable. prepare a lot of space for the tablet and keyboard (good to have a small programmable keyboard), it’s 100% good for Adobe products and the Toonboom program. There may be some rare problems with the drivers during working but it depends more on the pc, i guess. It,s really good first screen-tablet!
After 9 months of working, I found some more problems. One with cable connectors: during your session the monitor may lose signal several times. One more problem is tired dry eyes, so I would advise you to buy an antiblue screen protector.
take care of your eyes and enjoy the produc
Great quality tablet with HD screen. As other users have stated do not attach the screen protector. Not really needed. She is very happy with it and it is a very precise and easy to use piece of kit. She currently uses ‘Gimp’ as the freeware and there are many youtube tutorials to help.
Delightful design, impeccable hardware, stable software, this drawing monitor has nothing to fear against the wacom cintiq and with an exceptional price. A tip only for XP-PEN; make a protective film more aesthetically in line with the product, as the design is premium is a pity to break it with an applicative that do not look the same.
Present for son….top quality …does all he wanted and some …great delivery …excellent all round service
It’s by far the best drawing tablet I’ve used and is far cheaper than any others. Brilliant!
I bought this tablette for my niece and she is very happy with her drawings
So the Artist 22HD arrived today and I was expecting hours of trouble setting it up after the driver issues I experienced with Huion H610 pro. But, to my surprise, it was set up and working within 10 minutes of of unboxing. The display came with 2 pens (both charged and ready to go), 2 pen charge cables, a drawing glove, HDMI lead, VGA lead, pen holder and nibs, USB cable, power cable, Mac to HDMI cable as well as cleaning cloth, manuals and driver CD. Would recommend downloading latest drivers from their website though. Sadly, mine didn’t come with a screen protector.
I have a triple monitor set up using 3 x 24 inch displays as one ultra-wide 5830 x 1080 display (includes bezel compensation) and the 22HD was instantly recognised as a second monitor.
Colours look good, lag is very minimal and overall, the screen looks beautiful. Tested it with Photoshop and Illustrator CC and it works very well. Pressure sensitivity worked straight away too (possibly a first for Photoshop?) and drivers seem far more stable (but still a bit sparse) than other Wacom alternatives.
Overall, very pleased with the 22HD. Only negative would be the stand. While still a great addition that works well, it doesn’t seem to keep the display that rigid. There is some movement but definitely not a deal breaker and the display does offer VESA mounting.
I’ve used the Artist 22HD for 4 months . Its really well built, easy to set up, a good upgrade from my wacom bamboo tablet and affordable.
The only thing I can complain about is the drivers, periodically while drawing the pen just stops responding and I have to uninstall and install the drivers again until next time. There is a little parallax as you can see in the picture I attached but after using the tablet you just get used to it and its not a problem.
The tablet was well packed by Amazon, really well protected.Thumbs up for that!
I’ve had this for a while now and I must say that this is a very good tablet for it’s price, it’s very precise and big with good screen quality.
The only thing it’s missing are thing like macro buttons or super extreme depth. But that will not likely affect you if you’re not a pro at digital art, and if you’re looking at this then you’re most likely aren’
I bought this for my daughter to use with her MacBook Air. She’s previously used a graphics tablet a lot so she was desperate to get her hands on this thing. We couldn’t justify spending on a Wacom Cintiq and as she’d really liked her (non Wacom) tablet, we thought that she may like this too.
We’re glad we did!
This thing works like a dream. It’s very responsive and comes with everything you need to connect it to her Mac – including a mini display port to HDMI cable. I didn’t notice this in the spec so I ordered a separate cable from Amazon that we subsequently didn’t use. 🙁
The only downside as far as I can see is that it doesn’t have any dedicated bezel buttons but my daughter says that as the screen is so large, she can use the on screen controls in Photoshop anyway!
If you are in the market for a Cintiq, don’t turn your nose up at these things. Wacom have been charging extremely premium prices for this technology for so long that it really is time to try something different. I am a professional graphic designer and have been using Wacom products (currently Intuos Pro Large) for nearly 20 years and I was shocked just how good by daughter’s cheap Huion 10″ X 6″ tablet was for the 50 it cost. It really made me wonder why I paid nearly 500 for the Wacom!
Check it out, it’s really good!
Just one small point though, colour was a little iffy on delivery but a little software calibration fixed it.
Came one day late but works extremely well and easy to install and set up
Having owned several other tablet products including the Intuos 5 Touch, the Cintiq 15UX and several tablet PCs, I had a good idea going into this what I should expect in terms of quality, and also what could potentially go wrong during setup and use. I viewed many reviews of this product, both text and on Youtube beforehand and there were complaints about all sorts of things from space between the pen nib and drawn line on the screen, the pressure required being too much, and random straight lines. None of these were issues for me whatsoever. Nor did I expect them to be, so it’s nice to be justified.
I think getting a good experience with this or any professional product is a matter of your own experience and/or technical inclination (or lack thereof). If you can follow simple instructions and also understand both your operating system and painting application, it is unlikely that you will have any real problem with the Artist 22HD or later revisions. Step 1. Uninstall any existing tablet drivers. Step 2. Reboot. Step 3. Install the XP-Pen Artist 22 driver from their website, not from the cd, if possible. The driver won’t say HD on it but it’s the correct one. Unzip and run the setup. It may prompt you to plug your tablet in. Boom done. Now go to the control panel, tablet settings and run the 9 point calibration routine. Now your cursor will be aligned. Leave the pressure settings at the easiest settings. This gives you the most flexibility in your software to let brush settings handle the look and feel of strokes.
I have only tested for a short time so far, but having used Photoshop CS6, Affinity Designer and Flash Professional, I can say confidently that they all work just fine. I’ll try Krita later but I doubt there will be any problems.
From a hardware standpoint, what you receive is impressive. Since others have gone into that, I will not, except to say that I decided not to use the screen protector. It appears unnecessary to me, and to be honest if anything got in the way of having as sharp and direct an experience as possible, it would probably be this accessory. The pens were charged and can be used right from the box.
Since I am in Europe, I will also mention that I ordered it from Amazon UK knowing that I would receive it in a reasonable amount of time for reasonable cost. Maybe this won’t remain the case after Brexit, so may as well while I can, right? Well, delivery was pretty speedy for standard shipping, it arrived exactly 1 week after my order and barely cost anything. The included power adapter was UK, but it is of the type which allows you to plug in a standard PC power cable into the unit, so I was able to easily switch in one of my spares which fit European outlets. Oh… and I see little issue with the viewing angles, personally. It’s fine.
What else is there to say? At the price, this is a Cintiq killer for sure. Anything else you want such as shortcut keys etc can be done using any number of methods. Hell, plug an Xbox controller in and rig that up using some external software and you’re good to go.
Was afraid when saw few bad comments, but now when I bought it I want to recommend everyone thinking of buying it, to buy this product. It is working perfectly good, easy to set up, just beautiful.
Having used a regular drawing tablet (Wacom Bamboo) for many years, I was unsure about making the switch to a drawing monitor – especially a non-Wacom brand. Now that I have, I am not disappointed.
You may have read that there can be driver issues. In my experience, this happens when you turn the display off at the mains while the computer itself is still running. It’s probably linked in some way to how Windows assigns an identity to each monitor e.g. when a monitor is removed, the driver gets confused. Also, in the driver settings (where the pressure and calibration is) you may need to turn off the “digital ink” option. On my PC, the cursor doesn’t move when that box is checked.
You may also have read that there is some parallax – especially towards the edges of the screen. This is also true, but the difference isn’t great and I hardly ever notice it. Remember that you can still see your cursor – so for precision work, you can focus on that instead of the tip of the pen.
As for the experience itself… I do love it. Drawing with a tablet, there’s a disconnect between what your hand is doing and what your eye is seeing. Drawing with this monitor, I have a lot more fun and I find myself making far fewer mistakes. Another surprising bonus is that, unlike drawing with a low resolution tablet, you can draw lines slowly/carefully with this monitor and they will still be quite smooth (I don’t use a stabilizer such as Lazy Nezumi).
Some other things to note:
My only real gripe is the screen protector. It’s relatively easy to apply, but bubbles form during use and they can cause quite some distortion (mainly to the colour). This isn’t a problem for line work, but when checking my work after colouring, I find myself lifting the protector up (it adheres at the top of the screen and can still be lifted) to clear away the bubbles. You do of course have the option to forgo the screen protector entirely.
The stand is generally quite firm, but it does “give” a little bit towards the upper corners. In other words, pressing with firm pressure against the top corners tilts the monitor backwards slightly, although it springs back to its original position. This isn’t a problem, but something I do occasionally notice during use. Light taps and strokes are fine.
Also, you may have heard that cable management can be difficult. I did have to fuss around with the cables for a while to get them to sit comfortably. I actually used 3 of the cable ties from the box’s packaging to tie the cables together and then to tie them to one of the legs of the stand; this way, I can fix the position and direction of the cables and move the monitor around my desk freely without the cables falling out of place or getting in the way. The power cable is particularly fiddly; there is a piece of plastic like you often get on some cables, but it’s at just the right distance to get caught under the legs of the stand – so I had to curl the wire a bit to keep it inside. (Another tip some people have suggested is to take the monitor off the stand, rotate it, reattach it and use the driver settings to rotate the picture – so that the monitor is upside-down, the cables come out at the top instead of the bottom, but the picture is the right way around. I haven’t tried this myself, though.)
Overall… I’m glad I bought one. I enjoy drawing with it. Setup was fiddly, but that was a one-time expenditure. I’ve had to reinstall the drivers once, but I think I have since figured out why (and how to avoid the problem). There are some “quirks” when using the monitor, but nothing annoying or problematic. I certainly don’t wish I had bought a Cintiq instead.
I’d feel remiss if I didn’t say: Do some research into the Ugee monitors available to you before committing to a purchase. I bought an XP-Pen because a) I had heard that XP-Pen has better customer support, documentation and drivers; b) there wasn’t much of a price difference at the time; and c) I couldn’t find any trustworthy Ugee suppliers in the UK. However, if I’m not wrong, XP-Pen and Ugee use a lot of the same technology; the monitor even shows as ‘Ugee’ in Windows when installed. In other words, buying a Ugee, you may effectively be getting the same product at a lower price – if you can find one.
I had Wacom PL-720 (DTF-720) which although out of warranty hadn’t received much use. It developed a flashing screen problem. Although Wacom’s support were polite and quick to respond, the solution they offered was for me to buy a new power supply (cost approx 70) rather than loan me one, or to ship the unit back to them at my cost so that their engineers could provide a quote for repair cost. I looked into the shipping costs and these were expensive too. The other thing I disliked was that Wacom emailed me a customer support feedback email saying ‘use the link below’ to give ‘valued’ feedback, but there was no link featured in the email so it was impossible to give feedback on customer support. The monitor had cost me around 1,000 so I was fairly disappointed and looked into finding alternative cheaper solution to Wacom products. I decided to go with XP-Pen. For under 500 you get a 22-inch HD monitor with great responsiveness (with a little parallax at the edges of the screen, but quite ok for me). In all honesty the driver set up was initially a problem for me but XP-Pen were very quick to respond and sort the problem. It was very simple. Windows 7 64-bit users need to UNCHECK the DIGITAL INK box in the XP-Pen control panel. All in all, very happy with the product. I have had it a couple of months so I can’t really comment on it’s longevity.
I was very pleased that you get a lot of extras like extra pen, extra nibs, glove, screen protector film and polishing cloth.
Really like this screen. Nice to draw on. Feels well made. Better than the Huion I had and cost half as much. They are definitely trying to make a nice product and at the fraction of the price of a wacom.
amazing alternative to a cintique worked on lots of projects on it and does everything i want it too
Bought this in the Amazon Black Friday sale as a replacement for my old Cintiq 15x which had developed a number of lines of dead pixels. (Not that that’s surprising after 12+ years of constant use!)
I didn’t have the budget for a cintiq, but at less than half the price I thought I’d give the XP-22 a chance.
After a couple of weeks usage I’m really impressed. Great build quality, nice crisp image, good colours, and the anti-glare overlay that comes with it makes it feel pretty much indistinguishable from a Cintiq. The pen holds it’s charge for ages and is also decent quality.
The only niggle I’d repeat from someone else’s review is that having the cables come out of the bottom of it does mean they tend to get knocked out if you’re moving the tablet from upright to angled position.
For the price it really doesn’t get better. I own a cintiq 13hd and have packed it away. It does have it’s issues but for actual production work they are easily overlooked or fixed.
1. Mine shipped with both pens causing jitter. Customer service was easy to deal with but only sent me one replacement pen. It made all the difference in the world but I may need another for streaming as they are battery powered. For regular work it’s fine though.
2. There is a 2 mm offset from the tip of the pen to the cursor. It doesn’t bug me as much as , say, my surface pro 2 or galaxy note 10. The consistency helps make it pretty unnoticeable. The cintiq is more accurate here.
3. For some reason the driver is fidigty. It’ll work fine , after intial set up, but just recently it made the tablet act more like a non screen tab. What I mean is the cursor would be on the other monitor. I couldn’t even calibrate. Could be the latest win 10 update as a graphics driver update for my card seemed to fix it. Minor inconvienience but nothing horrible.
I cannot comment on color accuracy as my work mainly involves line art and work for print media. Out of the box it looks less muddy then the cintiq 13hd and , as always with these types of tablets, color calibration can be done if you own a device for it.
All in all the increase in space for my work helps a lot. The cinitq13hd, while very nice, is just too small to effectivly work out large compositions and the 27qhd is way out of my price range vs income at this point.
Honestly, I thought about Wacom 13″ – but this one is so much bigger and so much cheaper! Why not? – I thought – it worth a try.
To say the least I am not disappointed.
I got a version of Photoshop, I made some sketches, I am looking forward to explore new reaches.
It’s really sensitive, it loves me, it responds all my smallest moves – and it is sooo big!
Well, sometimes size really matters ))
Actually I thought I’d end up with Ugee, but with similar price Ugee is only 19″
Although they seem to share the software. I tried tracking the company, it’s somewhat complicated.
Nevertheless it’s all set up and fully functioning.
I would take one star off for the lack of support. It took me a while to sort out my screens and the tablet mode all by myself.
I would add up one star for the simplicity of packaging. This is really the case where you would not suppose you may be paying extra just for the beauty of boxes which are anyways going to be thrown away.
Summarising: this is a really good buy.

Amazing product I really love it the best Caleb for money
I love this tablet so much. It’s acurate and feels great to use with high resolution and nice colour. Perfect for my illustration degree. Customer service was polite and fast to deal with a minor issue, (one of the pens was broke, but those things happen) and everything works great! I’d advise this product to any of my uni friends.
After over forty years as a professional illustrator using traditional means I thought it about time I went digital. A year ago i went down the Cintiq route, The first buy wouldn’t even start up and went back to the supplier. I tried a smaller version and it was fine after I had bought the accessories necessary for a Mac connection which were not supplied. But I needed a bigger screen to operate and did not want to blow a lot of cash again so I took a risk with the XP-Pen and have not been dissapointed. It comes supplied with Mac access and other gratuitous offerings which are useful.. One small quibble is the protective screen overlay which is an absolute bind to fix without bubbles forming – in the end I just left it off. Perhaps some clearer info in the setup for Mac users would be helpful but its all figurable and the results are good enough for me. A nice piece of kit for the price and I’d recommend it.
I was contacted by XP-pen to do an honest review of this product and I was excited to accept!
After seeing some reviews on youtube I was preparing myself for some possible driver issues, I would find out later that the drivers had been edited and updated very recently for better run time.

It arrived in a HUGE box and after getting it out I realised how much tablet you get for cost. This tablet reigns over my Huion 1060 pro+ and wacom bamboo in both size and aesthetics.
I was excited to get going with this item. For installation I found it easy, I had to uninstall my previous drivers and then reinstall the XP-Pen’s driver (check out their website to download the latest version).
It took mere minutes to get the result I wanted for pen calibration and sensitivity, I was very pleasantly surprised!
Using this tablet was really good and although it took a bit to get used to drawing on glass, I found it very adaptable!
Overall this tablet really is great, seriosuly this company is an underdog and hopefully will be able to further compete with the likes of Wacom in the future!
