Good quality Shears, cut well and easy to use. Perfec
They were used on a archaeological dig, we have bought others recently, that he have lasted hours before breaking or not being sharp enough. These were fantastic, stayed sharp and very easy to handle. Everyone on the dig have commented about value for money.
Easy to hold, very sharp clean cut and I like the extra “spring” provided should the first one West it. Highly recommend.
Easy to use and as good as more expensive ones I’ve brought in the past. Not sure if they will last but cheap enough
Good quality secateurs. Strong enough to cut through some small twigs. Easy to hold and use.
Nothing to dislike. Does a great job . Seems very sturdy . Easy to use .Really excellent value .
Bought for my neighbour she is 87 years young this year. She absolutley loved them. She said they where so easy to use with her hands having limited movement . Buying a pair for myself. what more can I say
The pruning shears are made of a good quality, they are very sharp and provides a easy and clean cut, they are very comfortable to hold in hand due to the material which was covered the handles, unfortunately after using them and they get a bit wet and after the time I noticed the rust on them, so, this means that after using, you need to clean them well and to keep in a dry place. Delivery was fast and and well packed
These secateurs are the business. They’re a good size, easy in the hand, the blades are sharp and sturdy enough to deal with stems and branches. They’re an excellent price for the quality. I’m really impressed with them.
Recommended.
Good general use secateurs with a nice long sharp blade. The handles are coated for a better grip and they are designed to allow a good grip when the jaws are fully open so you can use them quickly without dropping them. The lock is secure and easy to use. They fit in a large hand well and seem balanced. They are nice to use, well made and strong. They cut well up to 2 cm. The spring mechanism does like to spring out of place in use which is probably why they came with a spare spring. Even so, a very good product.
I bought these shears for doing some simple gardening. they’re much better than I expected and the work I bought them for was completed with ease. I now have a very decent tool that will last me for ages. The blade is sharp and the build quality is high so I have no complaints.
A nice quality pair of pruning shears which cut through my valentines roses to with ease.
Weighty, sharp and comfortable to hold, they are perfect for tidying up your garden.
Given the low price, these are very good value. They don’t seem noticeably cheaper made than more expensive secateurs and seem to perform pretty much just as well. They grip is comfortable enough, with the plastic covering protecting your hands from the cold, unlike plain metal ones I have.
They do a pretty good job of cutting, although you probably wouldn’t want to try much thicker than around half an inch. The locking mechanism is a little different, requiring a push rather than a slide, but you soon get used to that. It even comes with a spare spring, should the other one lose its bounce. For the price, it’s hard to go anywhere else.
Garden secateurs really only need to do one thing and that’s cut through stuff, so provided they can manage that, they’re fine. These budget secateurs came in very handy with storm Eunice as a small ceanothus tree came down in my back garden. Part of the tree had already died which is probably why it succumbed to the strong winds and this meant that some of the branches were very hard as they were dead. These secateurs chomped their way through half inch diameter branches easily (assuming you have a strong enough grip) and I was pleased to see that after about just half an hour things were looking a lot tidier. The secateurs were easy and comfortable to use and the locking mechanism was effective at locking the jaws safely together.
This would have been a five star review had it not been for the spring. On reaching through the ceanothus branches to cut a section towards the back, a twig caught on the spring and out it popped, never to be seen again! Fortunately, a spare spring is supplied and was fitted without too much trouble so that cutting could continue. I’ll be more aware of this one drawback in future but other than that these are a good tough pair of secateurs that will hopefully last a while.
Great secateurs for only 6.99 at the time of this review. Super sharp and comfortable to hold. The safety button is easy to use, just slide it along to keep the blades closed. It arrives well packaged with a spare spring. The blades sound great when you’re snipping away and they arrive oiled so well protected so I’m very happy to recommend
These are quite easy to hold and don’t require much force to be able to use them easily; they’re not too heavy for small female hands. At first I was confused as to how to get them open for use, as it wasn’t clear that there’s a slider to release the blades, but it’s easy to use them.
They work great on rose bushes and small shrubs, but I tried to cut back some lavatera and the branches proved too much for them and the blades got stuck, but were easy enough to unstick.
Overall, they’re on a par with budget DIY store secateurs and are priced similarly.
Nice and comfortable to use.
A spare spring is included, but I wish the spring was retained properly in the first place, that would make more sense.
The blades are sharp, used to remove face slapping hanging brambles on our dog walk, it sliced through the thicker nasty ones on a canal path with ease and a cyclist thanked me.
Good secateurs
A nice set of secateurs. The design is what has now become the standard and is indistinguishable from other brands. What does make this set somewhat different is the quality of manufacture. The blades are Teflon coated and the rubberised grip feels comfortable in the hand and I was confident that they would not slip.
In terms of cutting ability, I found that I could cut twigs with ease and tone perfectly honest, while the manufacturer claims that you can cut thick branches, I see little point in using secateurs for this task and would go for something a bit bigger for this task.
A nice item and worth a valid 5 stars.
Really good pair of secateurs and for such a reasonable price. Very sharp, has no trouble with quite thick branches (would put a small amout of oil on the blades after use) and comfortable to hold, quite light as well. There is a spare spring included in the pack, which is one of the clear shaped covers on a cardboard background, you need the secateurs to get in them but having said that they are sharp and do not need to be coming out of the packaging.
These shears are very well constructed. Looks like they could be taken to bits which is good for periodic maintenance or replacing broken bits if you can get spares. I find then quite comfortable although anyone with a hand smaller than mine might struggle to operate them. The blade is very sharp and cuts small branches easily.
I’m chuffed with these. They’re sharp and robust. I feel like they’re rather strong. Ideal for me as I always take the mick with secetuers and cut things that are probably too big.
The blade on this has a well honed and sharp edge.
The spring is strong and it looks like it will last. Reassuringly it comes with a replacement spring.
The handles are ergonomic and grippy. They’re comfortable to hold and cut with.
These have clearly been well design and manufactured to a high standard using premium materials. It’s odd that they choose to package them so badly. The packaging really brings the tone of the quality right down to make them look cheap. If I had received these as a gift it be unimpressed.
First impression a good weight has a good hand grip and has an easy open and close blade The first cut on my roses was excellent with a good clean cut which is a must for pruning roses to be honest the price dose not match the performance these are such a bargain I highly recommend them
Great garden pruning shears good value for money easy to use see photos for true item
I can’t find anything to dislike about these secateurs, especially as they are on offer at under 7 at the time of writing.
They are sharp, sensibly designed, and comfortable and ergonomic in the hand. I like the simple locking mechanism, and the bump-stop is nicely implemented too. I’m not sure why a spare spring was included, as the supplied spring seems up to the job.
I cut a small branch that’s around 3/4″ in diameter with these secateurs, and that’s pretty much as big as they’ll cut, but that’s not bad going at all and as you can see, the cut was clean and neat, though I needed to use a rotational action in conjunction with the cutting force, to help the cut, due to the thickness.
When they arrived, my son was very impressed with their appearance, and I agree, they do look nice. I can’t fault them, and if you can pick them up on offer, you won’t regret buying these sharp, comfortable secateurs.
Duncurin has been running up this set of secateurs, courtesy of Vine and Aen Art. This is a nice robust pair of secateurs which are the perfect size for most hands and have a nice comfortable grip which is warm to the touch. The secateurs of course should never be within reach of children but there is a nice sliding lock which will restrain the mechanism and stop those ever so sharp jaws from opening — just when you wouldn’t want them to.
The secateurs have a nice smooth action, I think it’s called a bypass action. The blades are robust and sharp and can be taken apart, something I wouldn’t try, for sharpening. I think if and when then need sharpening I’d try my hand at sharpening them in situ. They will happily cut branches and twigs to beyond 10mm depending on the ‘freshness’ of the material. At this time of year, I found that they cut quickly and easily.
The return spring is simply that — a simple spring. I have seen perhaps higher quality secateurs with curled spiral springs, which I’m supposing are more robust and long lasting. I see that the manufacturers, however, cover this by including a spare spring.
All in all then, this is nice pair of sharp and handy secateurs that would be suitable for most gardening pruning jobs and with a little care should give years of service. Many thanks.
Pictures show pruning in progress and a little video, using my left hand, to cut!
I find them to be sharp, and easy to use.
For me that’s the most important point.
Easy to hold with a locking mechanism.
They come with a spare spring.
Absolutely brilliant value for money, I cannot fault then at all, especially at this price !!
Highly recommended.
Whether because they are newer, or have a better blade I am not sure, but they are sharper than both my old pairs.
They fit the hand nicely.
The device that locks the blades shut when not in use is positive with the advantage it doesn’t lock accidentally. (My other ones have little lever that is prone to this — annoying when you are using them)
You get a spare spring — make sure you put it somewhere safe!
ice closure lock and quite sharp. Comes with a spare spring, too. No ratchets for tough stems, though.
I confess I have never had the spring fail on any of my secateurs and I have been using secateurs for over 50 years. But this one does come with a spare spring, and that is ok, because the spring is a little different from the kind you find in more expensive tools. However, springs aside, this is very sharp, and businesslike, with a good non-slip grip. It locks easily, with just a slide upwards of the locking mechanism, which is very smooth. The price I have on mine is 6.99 which is very much lower than some of the better known brands that are on the market. I look forward to the spring, when they will surely find their place in my gardening tools. I have tried them out on a number of my winter shrubs and they do the job quite well, no complaints.
A great quality set of secateurs, especially for this price. The blades are made out of steel with a Teflon coating, so if looked after they shouldn’t rust. The handles are made out of a strong aluminium alloy, with a frosted rubber grip. The action of returning the bypass cutting action is helped with a spring, you even get a spare one given with them.
The blades are locked in the closed position by a button that you slide back to release, slide it forward to lock into position again.
The secateurs are advertised as able to cut decent sided branches, so I gave them a go, not so good on dead branches though, see video for results.
I have arthritic hands, and I found these really comfortable to use, so much so I did a good hour in the garden trimming off dead wood from an old apple tree, something I wouldn’t have been able to do with my old secateurs, with smooth rubber handles, so it’s a recommendation from me.

The product.
These are inexpensive garden secateurs.
Quality.
Surprisingly they are well made and strong. The blade is sharp and they are comfortable to use.
Using.
I have been using them to today up a wind-blown hedge and they are nice to use and work really well. After using them I give them a spray of light oil to stop them rusting as I do with all my garden equipment. They have been used a lot in the last few days and have been fine.
Overall.
A very good price for decent secateurs.
Brilliant Secateurs..
Good price..
Get extra spring also..
Would recommend
Only got these today and it’s not really pruning time but just to test I went into the garden and gave them a little tryout. They are not the most comfortable secateurs I have and I think that extended use may cause discomfort in your hand. That said, they are nice and sharp and cut relatively easily through 5mm branches.
They appear and feel solid though so I expect they will last a fair while.
I have several pairs of secateurs because I’ve got a large garden, two greenhouses and an allotment, so I’m in a good position to compare these Aen Art Secateurs. These are by far the best secateurs I’ve tried for the price. They feel nice in your hand with the rubber coated, textured grips. The jaws open nice and wide so you can cut through quite thick stems. The blade is nice and sharp and seems to easily slice through even quite thick woody stems. The locking mechanism is one of the best I’ve tried, I have a couple of other secateurs that have a lousy locking mechanism but this design seems to work really well. The secateurs feel sturdy in your hand with a little bit of weight to them. I really like these secateurs and think they are actually really good value for the price.
