Very portable, sensible defaults. Easy to adjust settings, the MIDI interface is responsive and actually sends correct sustain info which I’ve consistently run into issues with on USB MIDI devices.
Great for composition, beautiful synergy with trackers like OpenMPT and FamiTracker.

They, whoever they are made it EZ for I don’t know who but not for me.
The software developer forgot to include the supervisors override and his or her controled athorty .
This mini player has lots of power, utility, and sounds. Once I really get a handle on all of this power, I will certainly be producing my own music. The sounds that come out of this little player is amazing. It is a wonderful gift. It is also very easy to travel with in the case that I bought to go along with it. I used it on the airplane during a long flight and it brought me much joy when using it with my headphones on.
i don’t need to add a picture because it simply looks the same as what it shown in the picture. And it’s so easy to use as a beginner. I didn’t read the instruction too carefully before it arrived and so it was surprising to find out this actually can come with me to anywhere – using battery! which is very convenient.
While most modern Casio or Yamaha personal keyboards got USB and can be used as midi controllers, none are as portable as this is. Except for the PSSA50 from Yamaha, which is the other one I was considering, but the lack of reverb and knobs made me move away from it.
So I decided to give this akai a chance, and when I got it, I realized it is exactly what I wanted:
-Super tiny and portable
-Built in speaker (mono, yes, but good enough for playing around)
-Built in very good quality sounds (many are really nice. The synth pads and brass are among my favorites)
-4 knobs for tweaking with 2nd function each, you get 8 parameters that can be modified on the fly. This includes Attack, Release, equalizer for highs, eq for lows, amount of chorus effect, amount of reverb effect, filter and resonance, being these last two the most fun to use.
-Arpeggiator. While it doesn’t have a chord option, you can set amount of octaves, playing direction (let’s say: random notes, notes up, notes down, up and down, exclude or include border notes.
-I’m using 4 Epoch AA 1.5V lithium USB rechargeable batteries, they are quite new in the market but I can recommend them, I haven’t had to recharge them yet and I’m using the keyboard on max volume for hours now.
I’m still getting familiar with it, but first days with it surprised me quite a lot. I can recommend this keyboard if you want everything it sports.
Huge improvement over the previous model. Keys and knobs feel natural and solid. Great performance as a MIDI controller, and can play on the go with the featured speaker. Very nice.
De momento me encanta, el tacto de los pads un poco duro, pero todo es acostumbrarse, la ventaja, la cantidad de sonidos que tiene y poder tocar sin ordenador, el altavoz suena muy bien, pensaba que iba a ser peor.
La integracion con los daws es bastante buena, en mi opinion es un buen aparato.
De momento me encanta, el tacto de los pads un poco duro, pero todo es acostumbrarse, la ventaja, la cantidad de sonidos que tiene y poder tocar sin ordenador, el altavoz suena muy bien, pensaba que iba a ser peor.

Very interactive and great response if there is any lag I do not notice it. The only downside is that the MPC BEATS does not have a setting for this model and you have to scroll till you find a working one, also the keys are a little narrow so it’s easy to trip up on keys while playing them. On the positive note was able to make great sounding music with the Vanilla settings alone.
Shipped really fast and I was surprised to see it was still in its box completely untouched and new and so pretty. I’ve been looking for a good keyboard and this is the best! Its edm style with easy computer setup and quick to learn buttons. Great for beginners
This thing sounds great when plugged into an external speaker! The internal speaker, as noted by others, is weak. But the sound when you plug it into something is awesome! The instruments sound great if you take the time to tune them a little. I LOVE the eight favourites you can assign to the drum pads that you can call up in the middle of a performance. The drum pads are tight and responsive and the drum sounds are really good too. I looked at the newer model, but for over a third more cost, this works just as well. I have heard the new model has better instruments, but the ones with this one sound amazing, as far as I am concerned.
I also picked up a Lekato looper pedal from Amazon at the same time to use with this, along with my little speaker, and now I can take it to portable jam sessions. The looper pedal makes this the most engaging intrument to play.
The keyboard is incredibly small and portable and being able to lay down your own percussion track and then be able to ‘play with yourself’ in this manner is awesome! Something I have been looking for since forever.
una tastiera midi concepita per fare registrazioni collegata ad un PC punto. Rispetto alle altre ha un piccolo altoparlante ma serve a poco. La rende pi versatile, ma non stata concepita per altri usi. Non sono un musicista di professione, ma un semplice appassionato di musica e per gli usi che ne far io va benissimo Quello che fa rabbia che nel software in dotazione ci siano due pacchetti di suoni che non possono essere installate sulle ultime versioni del MAC e la cosa non scritta da nessuna parte. Non solo non si possono installare, ma danni problemi agli altri programmi come, ad esempio, Garage Band, che non parte pi. Problema risolvibile in tempi ragionevoli per chi come me, lavora nel campo dell’informatica, ma per un utente comune sarebbe stato davvero problematico e frustrante venire a capo del problema Risolto questo il software in dotazione funziona bene sia su Mac che su PC. Ho visto che c’ chi si lamenta delle dimensioni dei tasti, della dinamica ecc… Considerandi l’uso che se ne deve fare a me sembra pi che sufficiente da questo punto di vista e ne sono totalmente soddusfatto. Avrei dato cinque stelle, ma che i pacchetti di suoni diano problemi e non lo scrivono da nessuna parte inconcepibile.
This little thing is awesome. Banked sounds are good through headphones. Speakers are small but do the trick. Mega portable and tons of options. Not going to be your main keyboard, but is perfect for couch noodling and laptop beats.
This little device gives you load of different sounds you can manipulate to your hearts content. You can latch the arp so you get a recycling riff then manipulate the sounds and it’s as good as it gets. It’s little speaker is great. The knobs are superb. What’s not to love?
I’ve had no problems so far with this keyboard, it works very well with the MPC1. I’m quite enjoying it.

I brought this for my son for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He is still using it so it must be good.
Good to play around with and has small speaker so you can hear it without connecting to a computer. Spoiled a bit by poor keyboard, which is stiff and unresponsive.
can be utilized without a DAW which is super good.
