The projector as a whole is really good, but there are some that stop it getting 5 stars from me, 1 it says it’s Android 10 which yes it is, but it’s modified as no built in Chromecast, you can’t go directly into your apps settings say you sideload an app you can’t just go into apps like full Android and say uninstall, force close etc, another thing not to do is put in a usb flash drive say for extra storage, move apps over etc, as when I done this the projector just crashed and wouldn’t load back up the Android operating system, just kept saying data might be corrupt, try again or factory reset, which is what I ended up having to do, which of course is annoying as you start from scratch, so yeah they are the only points I think you need to be aware of if you’re thinking of purchasing this item.
Only had this a few hours and just installed and set it up so early days. However, it’s impressivly bright for its price and it’s certainly a 1080p image so can’t fault it on that. The built in speaker is more than adequate for a medium sized room, I’m running the volume on about 70% and it’s fine. I was going to purchase a bluetooth soundbar but I’ve decided that’s really not necerssary.
It runs Android TV which is excellent because you can run this stand alone for most things, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Video, YouTube all work just fine. The downside is that Android TV isn’t very well supported so there’s no BBC iPlayer, BT Sport, Steam Link or Sky Go apps available. It does have two HDMI inputs though so you can hook up a Firestick, ChromeCast, PC or other device just fine. It also supports wireless casting, but that is limited to content that isn’t copy protected.
None of these things are the fault of the projector though, it’s just the way Android TV works and it’s better to have it than to have nothing! The only thing I’ve found to critise is the fan noise, it’s quite loud, it’s not too bad once you’re watching something but when browsing the menus etc… it is noisy. Also, if you change the aspect ratio or any of the video settings, it resets the keystone which is really frustrating.
I paid 299 for this projector and it’s worth every penny of that. If I was spending any more I might look to a different model, but then I’d almost certainly be missing all the “smart” Android TV features. I can highly recommend this product if your are in the market for a budget projector! If I discover any more issues or niggles I’ll be sure to update this review.
UPDATE 1 – Taking one star away from my initial review but depending on why you want to buy this, it may need another start knocked off. Here’s why:
There are quite a few bugs in the firmware it seems. Audio just constantly stops working, while the onboard speakers are good when they work, I have to constantly turn the projector off and on to get the audio working again.
The projector has a tendency to shut down at random. I don’t know if this is linked to overheating, but I have it ceiling mounted with lots of clear space around it.
The “smart” features with Android TV are pretty much worthless. Most of the apps don’t work properly, there no iPlayer & Netflix doesn’t work.
So, if you want a budget projector with great image quality and decent brightness this can still be a good option. Just take your audio from a different source. If you want a smart projector as an “all-in-one” solution then I think you’re better off looking elsewhere.
UPDATE 2 – Had this 6 months now and still think it’s crazy value for money. I have given up with the built-in Android TV as all the issues and bugs I had were with that. I bought a Chromecast with Google TV and it’s perfect! Doesn’t randomly turn off, I can leave it on for hours! All the apps I need are on Google TV including Disney+, Netflix, Steam Link, BT Sport etc… (still no Sky Go though). With this projector and the Google TV dongle it’s a perfect combination (until they release a projector with Google TV built it!).

A great projector. for your home, for the best quality, use HDMI input over e-share, although very handy and quick, i was looking for the best quality image and audio, I send the audio from my Macbook to the bluetooth surround system, whilst a HDMI sends the 4k movie videos from my Macbook to the projector. It feels like i’m at the cinema when volumes turned up and its dark! Love it .. check my video watching Avatar in 4k.
A good projector. Fantastic picture especially in uhd. Can’t get half the apps to work though but Netflix works well, YouTube etc. Easy to set up. Shame only one set of Bluetooth earplugs can work as if two peeps want to listen outdoors you might have to share with the neighbours. Something the manufacturers could think of.
After having some teething problems with my first projector and reviewing these issues Artlii themselves reached out offering assistance and recommendations for those things I had previously highlighted such as Bluetooth drop out and other app issued. Well I’m glad to say they appear to have listened and there is a new update available which will hopefully address earlier niggles. The projector itself is well made and pretty snappy as it utilises android 10 and being a chromecast device allows installation of 3rd party apps such as movie streaming apps and iptv meaning you have a myriad of viewing options available. Whilst I have only had a brief run through with the unit I’m fairly happy with the performance, the fans are much quite than the Yaber V10 Pro which I had tried earlier and are soon forgotten about and an average volume similar to other more “premium ” LED projectors. The speaker is fair for normal viewing but I would recommend attaching a better set of speakers for Cinema experience. The Bluetooth connects quickly but I’m yet to have a thorough test as earlier suffered a lot of lag on the Earlier model tested. All in all I would recommend this projector at this time and will further update in a Coulple of months once further use and knowledge has been obtained.
Quality projector.excellent picture and easy set up and being a smart projector makes this perfec
Check the video , it says it all about the great picture quality. The size of the screen is : width2.8m height:1.5m
Video source is bluray hd. A real cinema experience at home. The Android system works well even with iptv apps without the need of a firestick.
Had this for just over a week now. Very impressed very good value for money… The only downside is no instructions to help you navigate so still learning on that side but certainly worth 5 stars
The Artlii Play 3 is a very solid budget projector, bright enough for a dim light room and clean sharp image across the screen. Android 10 and Google play store is snappy to navigate, out of the box it does need a update for prime video to work which takes around 5 minutes. During update the projector looks like it is stuck but just let it finish and it will reboot and work as normal.
Streaming from prime and Netflix is brilliant, sound is ok but limited by the single small speaker at the rear. There is option to connect it via headphone jack to external speaker which I would recommend for any projector with fan. Close to the projector my iPhone recorded 50.7db noise and at 1.5m away it recorded 40db which is very acceptable. Most of the noise is from the filter inlet rather than the fan at outlet so I think it could do with a better filter/inlet.
Phone screen mirror was easy but function will be limited by your phone app, streaming from paid services are no go with HD privacy protection kicks in when playing video, this is same across all projectors connected wirelessly. It does show phone screen, menu, browser and even recorded video and photo etc but just can’t stream paid videos.
Closest to wall/screen will be around 1.5m, any closer it will not focus correctly. There is digital zoom function to make screen smaller if you have small room etc. Keystone adjustment is via digital instead of lens adjustment, I find this works really well and does not affect edge focusing like the traditional 15-45 degree lens adjustment. With the play 3 you can adjust each 4 corners independently which is not available in other budget projectors.
For me the sweet spot is 120″ screen at around 4m from wall, nice and big image and still bright enough for dimmed room light.
I bought this projector for movie nights and also some gaming.
The projector comes with the Android operating system installed which means you have a great selection of apps for streaming like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney just to name a few.
The projector is seriously impressive and has a super easy to use remote control.
The picture and sound quality are amazing.
I have this projected into my bedroom wall and have it connected to my PS5 for my gaming and the image quality is excellent. The sound quality from the built in speakers is excellent too and loud enough so that you don’t need any external speaker connected.
You can also connect a Phone or tablet to this wirelessly as the projector has the option of accepting a cast from your chosen device.
Overall this is an excellent projector that is super easy to use. For the following reasons I have decided to rate this projector 5 stars:
Easy to set up
Easy to use
Good remote control
Good Android operation system
Compatible apps like Netflix
Excellent image quality
Amazing sound quality
Good for gaming and movies
Before making this purchase, I performed a lot of research. As I already have $k projector but I need an android O smart projector. So found this item is fantastic, and I believe it provides a lot for people prepared to pay a bit more than a cheap portable projector. The built-in speakers are self-contained and do not require any other equipment. However, if you connect to surround sound systems, you’ll get an experience that’s virtually as good as going to the movies.
The image quality is excellent, and it supports 4K Full HD projection. The focus can be adjusted to fit the distance from the wall; the further back the projector is placed, the larger the image appears to be, and the video quality and brightness appear to remain constant, which is fantastic. It also features 4d keystone correction, which allows you to adjust each screen corner. That is why the image is so amazing, as well as the fact that the screen is so large! My entire wall has been transformed into a screen. With or without the screen, I didn’t see much of a difference. Of course, a projector screen will provide you with greater quality.
* It hardly takes 5 minutes to setup using Google assistance just say on your android phone “setup my device” and in a few steps ready to go.
* It has two HDMI ports
* It gives great results on Amazon 4k firestick.
* The USB ports are fully functional I tested it with my OMEN Headset.
* Speed is amazing
* It has its own screen mirroring app. Which works seamlessly.
There are several beneficial features as well! I like that the projector has a Wi-Fi option that allows me to link my phone to it. But the greatest thing is that it runs on its own Android system! I’ve just activated my Netflix membership, and now it’s movie night every night.
In the Android app, there is still room for development. Because of the new Android TV OS, there are now just a few official Android TV apps available.
The built-in software is straightforward to use and navigate, especially for first-time users. It just took me a few minutes to put everything up. It easily linked to my home Wi-Fi network without any difficulties. Before you tell the projector to scan, ensure sure your partnering device is in pairing mode.
In general, I’m really pleased with that projector. The pricing is excellent given the features included.
Please like helpfull if i provide enough information. thanks
Needed a replacement projector after my Optoma blew up following a bulb failure that damaged the internal components. That was a good projector and it should have lasted longer, clearly there was a design defect that had been overlooked.
This time, I chose to go with a similarly priced unit from a different company and hoped for the best.
From an aesthetic point of view, this looks sleek and comes in grey making it stand out compared to others in black or white. The rubber feet underneath can be removed to reveal mounting screws for ceiling mounting. If mounted the right way up, it can be placed on a desk and there is an adjustable foot underneath to change the angle of projection.
Depending on distance and screen size, the projector allows zoom adjustment using either the buttons on the projector or the remote (once you add your own batteries).
Keystone adjustment allows the picture to be displayed correctly on a wall or screen even when the projector is not positioned exactly in the middle of the projected area. Fine adjustments can be made to each corner horizontally and vertically.
Picture quality and contrast is outstanding once you get everything adjusted correctly.
If you are thinking of buying this, I would recommend so long as you are planning to screencast or display via HDMI and not if planning to use as a smart projector because there seem to be some licensing issues preventing apps from being installed or if installed, used. Amazon Prime Video and Kodi does work, so if that is the only source you use, you will be fine. Otherwise, your choice is to buy a Fire Stick or if you really want a smart projector, look to another brand who has paid licensing fees for access to the apps you want like BBC iPlayer, ITV, Channel 4 and Five.
The remote control is good at replicating the functionality of a Fire Stick, with a large microphone button that can be used to operate Google to play, find or listen to something without inputting letters.
Once you connect this via screencast, HDMI or Fire Stick, you will be impressed with the picture and even the built in sound that comes from the projector.
Unlike other models available from this company, this projector is definitely not designed to be used as a portable projector because it doesn’t come with a case and benefits from being mounted securely to make the most of its refined features.
It doesn’t run particularly hot and the fans aren’t extremely loud, so this will not ruin your experience.
It’s amazing how much better technology has improved since we bought our last projector and what a difference this makes to the experience of watching TV and films on a big screen. Better resolution and better contrast.
I read somewhere that this is rated to last for 30,000 hours, which is equivalent to running it 24/7 for three years continuously. If that’s correct, this is going to last a long time and represents good value for money.
Got this for downstairs newly made cinema and same time storage room. I love its capability of 45 degree 4D keystone correction, which helps adjust the image even when standing away on side and still abile project direct footage in right angle.
It also can connect directly from IOS platform without any problem, it need to set up on first time on the phone, once its connected threw phone and projector remembers connection so no need each time to reconnecting it.
It has 340 ansi which a lot of light power, it’s great that will not struggle on daylight however when so much light power to prevent machine overheating it will need a lot air cooling circulation. Which usually caused a lot of side ventilation noise and can disturb the move. I was worried about it, however pleasantly surprised how quiet it is, no friction on ventilation , extremely quite.
It has built in clever android system allows directly log in to many apps directly. Also its compatible and has many different ports which allows to connect many different items including modern and much older technology units.
So far very happy with its quite working condition and very powerful light.
There is no image settings. Too much brightness. If there is bright news adjustment.. then its good..
Finally decided to upgrade my projector for smart, ordered the projector and arrived well packed and safely. Can use right out of the box, hardly takes a min to set up & play. Keystone adjustments make it easy to auto adjust the screen with a perfection ratio even when projected from an angle. The quality of the display was awesome and looks so clear & crispt at 4k support. With built-in apps, makes life easy to browse around, no need for any external smart dongles. The response was quite fast and remote makes it easy to operate from a distance. With built-in mic on remote helps to voice command with the help of google assistance, Lightweight remote & does follow actions quickly. The projector runs at low noise when compared to my previous one. Built-in android 10 makes it the best feature in the market covered. Does mirror screen, my best part helps to present something easily, support’s 5.0G wifi which doesn’t lag any streaming. Bluetooth connectivity helps to connect external speakers for the theatre experience. Overall one in all projector for the best experience.
Fantastic resolution and quality of picture, I have tried sport, action films, documentary all looks gorgeous results. Brightness is quite unexpected to be honest, very bright display. Lens is not that big but it does do 100inch projection really good. Colours are true and not over saturated or under, just right. I really like digital 4D keystone as it does not doo much out of focus once adjusted. Android system is good but some apps may not work as the security patch is from 2018 but it does not bother me much as I side load apps anyway. Great projecto
The Artlii Play 3 smart projector is a fantastic projector that doesn’t break the bank on price. The brand is very reasonably priced for the quality and functionality offered and branded projectors of similar specification are costing the guts of 1,000. The projector has Native 1080P resolution but supports 4K Footage. It has 340 ANSI lumens and has 5G WiFi and bluetooth connectivity. It also has two USB ports and dual HDMI inputs so that you can connect almost any device to it.
The unit has google assistant built in, keystone correction for getting the best image and can project up to 300″ image size. The wifi streaming is flawless, the design and look of the projector is great and overall it’s excellent value for money.
