Not really any negative points. Due to being overhead earphones it blocks outside noise naturally and to this day it works really fine with next to no wear and tea

When I broke my hyper x’s I did some shopping for a new gaming headset. I have always had an appreciation for music. Being in band I understood proper balancing between voices. I wanted a gaming headset that could be dual purpose for also listening to music. At this price point, nothing compares. These audio technicas just sound so clear. I have heard people say they sound flat since they are supposed to be for music editing. I don’t disagree. They don’t do the bass boosting that most headphones do, but the base is still very present and as someone who turns my bass up to +5 in my car I have never thought that I need more bass when using these headphones so it’s a non issue. The Bluetooth on these is decent its nothing groundbreaking, but I have found that other BT headphones around this price have nearly identical BT settings such as delay and decreased sound quality. BT is nice for listening on your phone though. If you don’t want to spend more just get the base model.

And I can say that they are the most comfortable headphones I have personally owned. The sound quality is fantastic and the Bluetooth capability is (sometimes) a little funky for me, but I believe thats more of a Windows issue than the actual headset. After 4 years, the ear cuffs are finally starting to wear down, and I am strongly considering ordering the same pair because I’ve enjoyed them that much. I am a gamer, music lover, and avid cinephile and these headphones are top tier.

I looove these headphones so much. I got them like right after I tried my friends pair on and I couldn’t be happier. The battery lasts so long and the noise quality is amazing. I also like that they adjust and they don’t fall off when I’m doing stuff around my house

    Pros:
    – Crystal clear audio, compared to anything else I’ve listened to.
    – The single most comfortable pair of headphones that have ever sat on my head – and they’re still there now!
    – Simple and sturdy construction, they’re gonna last a while.
    – Availability for both wired and Bluetooth makes them very versatile.

    Cons:
    – I wish the increments for the band adjustment were a bit more pronounced.
    – Noise cancellation is certainly good, but could be better.
    – Bluetooth connection is quite laggy. Don’t know if this is a fault of the headphones or just Bluetooth.

An absolutely amazing pair of headphones, and they single-handedly got me into the audiophile scene. I plan to use these for years to come, and recommend you to do the same.

These headphones are great for your first pair of good headphones, The audio quality is amazing (for your first pair of headphones). The Bluetooth does appear to have a noticeable delay compared to it being wired but that’s to be expected so I use it wired on my Pc when I’m gaming or watching videos but if I’m just listening to music the Bluetooth is perfect. I did have to claim a warranty on the headphones for the headphone jack as it was faulty and broke within a couple of months of using it but thankfully Audio Technica support is amazing and helped me right away and fixed my headphones and even replaced the ear muffs and gave me a spare cable :).

Overall I highly recommend these headphones but if you can dish out the cash for the newer models I’m sure they are even better starter headphones.

The unparalleled quality and performance of Audio Technica is filled with a reputable company history. This spirit is continued with their wireless over-ear headphones named ATH-M50xBT2. While the name might not inspire curiosity or inspiration it speaks for itself in the ways that matter. For everyday listening on your mobile device this device works seamlessly to provide and the quality stays consistent with a wide range from the highest of trebles to the biggest bass drops you will experience a range of sound that is unparalleled from competitors. While average consumers may fall to the marketing schemes of Beats by Dre. You can tell Audio Technica spends money on their product quality rather than their celebrity collaboration and commercials. Audio Technica’s headphone speaks without a single advertisement and a clean simple website that will provide you with unmatched music quality no matter what genre.
The renaissance man perfectly describes the headphones sound quality and design.
With the diversity in sound comes the easy controls on the headphones with easy volume adjustment, pause button, and even a function to activate siri. While bluetooth disconnection can occur occasionally it is not noticeable most of the time maybe once every 6 hours. This is counteracted with a very good bluetooth range of about 8 meters and a plug in option. While in general a lack of custobility in app sound settings is leaving many wondering if they could provide an equalizer. The comfort has a small weight but fits around my ears and does not put pressure on my head or cause headaches. Not recommended for working out and will fall off but still possible if you are careful but would recommend using another type of headphone. Very cushioning microphone puffs with easy replacement if needed that feels extremely durable. This product has maintained its long battery life for almost two years with no battery deterioration which can not be said for most apple products.

The ATH-m50xBT is Good for music however they are really quiet. I usually have to turn the volume around 60-70 percent for it to sound perfect to me. These headphones have a relatively flat sound signature meaning that the small details in music sound very clear and is excellent for music production. The m50xBT and m50x are uncomfy when you first buy them but I would not recommend replacing the ear pads because they change the sound quality. The stock ear pads also get A LOT more comfy after the first week or two however they still feel terrible if you wear glasses and use these headphones for over 2-3 hours. If you hate audio bleed then I would suggest looking for new ear pads because if I turn the volume around 60-70 percent there is a small bit of audio bleeding. I also use these headphones for light gaming and listening to music 2-3 hours everyday, and these headphones are not the best for gaming but they are fine. When I hear footsteps and gunshots I can easily locate where a player is just as good or better than my opponent sometimes. The bluetooth is great, it doesn’t have a lot of latency but the latency is not good enough to use the bluetooth mode for gaming. The only issue I have with bluetooth is that sometimes connecting the headphones to my Macbook air is very difficult. It wont connect sometimes forcing me to restart my computer. I would say this issue happens 5% of the time and I still don’t know if it is something wrong with my headphones or laptop.

if you don’t want to read my essay:
    Cons:
    1.) A bit quiet.
2.) sometimes the bluetooth does not connect to my Macbook properly.
3.) Has a bit of audio bleeding
4.) Uncomfy on the first week or two

    Pros:
    1.) sound great
2.) not the best but is good for gaming
3.) impressive sound isolation even though they don’t have ANC (noise canceling)
4.) The bluetooth does not have a lot of latency
5.) bluetooth sounds similar to wired
6.) Build quality is good, these will last you a long time as long as you don’t throw them on the ground like a baseball everyday

Overall: Good pair of headphones with a flat sound flat sound signature. Isolates sound pretty well and is comfy after the first week or two. Bluetooth works flawlessly (most of the time) without much latency.

I owe MSR7 and I ordered another Audio-Technica for my wife, because I don’t like she taking mine for running. I did not expect a lot from embedded amplifier and BT (which like being said here is hard to connect/disconnect), but I was excited to try wired plugging. Before I tried other models of this brand and I believe A-T is a best choice in terms of sound details. I don’t believe in active noise cancellation, it useful when you ride in subway, but not for enjoying music. So, when I compared this model with my MSR7 I was a little bit disappointed. However, for my sweetheart this are ideal headphones. She loves it wearing outside and at home during her work. Another strange thing, is that for us, adults, it fits big, so consider this if you have small head or bring it for a kid/teen.

Love the sound quality, I hear production in songs I never new I was missing with my earbuds.

Build quality is awesome, super heavy duty but possibly an emphasis on heavy.

Biggest issue would be the ear cups, the leather makes my ears sweaty. I ordered some soft fabric replacement ear cushions so I can enjoy longer listening periods.

Next I have an issue with the comfort level, now for context I’m coming from the corded hyper x cloud 2, and they feel like a legit cloud on my head in comparison to the ATHm50xBT.
These are just a bit tight on my head. Now maybe I have a wide boney head and I understand that but for how tight they are I find they slip off easier than they should if I were for example laying back on the floor listening to music the top band ends up sliding back back off my head and I believe it’s due to how heavy these are in general. It’s also the same if I were to bend over and pick something up these would slide forward on my head and possibly fall off if it weren’t for the ear pieces clamped to the sides of my head.

I’m hoping different ear cushions fix all my problems and these can take over from the wired cloud 2 I have been using.

But over all super awesome headset to chill and listen to beats in the best quality with which is why I will keep strong to 4*

(I’ve had them for 18 months) The sound is really really good. I’m not an “audiophile” however they sound great, a little too great. I was using them with my 2019 MacBook Pro plugged into the audio jack and I realized i just didn’t enjoy listening to them as much as when I was using Bluetooth to my phone. It led to me dropping $200 on a Shiit DAC and Amp for my Mac, and it’s glorious.

They have the low latency over Bluetooth for iPhones, so audio is completely synced with video watching Netlfix / YouTube / etc. The battery level that my iPhone reports for the headphones is non-functional, it always reads 100%. But the battery life is really good. They do charge really slow, but that’s probably good for extending the batteries life. They aren’t really that heavy at all.

The ear pads that came with it are not comfortable, I’m a big dude with a big head and “normal” ears. I ended up getting the Brainwavz Hybrid Memory Foam Earpad – Black PU/Velour (Amazon ID: B00ZGGG3KY) to replace the factory ear pads, it did reduce the bass a bit, but they are really comfortable and I don’t get hot sweaty ears.

Other than the fit and sound quality, the features are OK, the microphone isn’t very good for conference calls. I’ve never figured out how/where I’m supposed to touch/tap to summon Siri, when I do get it to work it’s slow… so I just don’t use it. I’d rather it not even be there. The app works fine to update the firmware though the weird finger acrobatics required to get the headphones into firmware update mode is quite difficult. The little metal decorative circle rings fell off, I just glued them back with super glue, they look weird w/o the ring.

Even with all the downsides, these are fantastic. I wear them for 5-6 hours a day at least with no fatigue. I even wore them doing yardwork outside, my sweat wicked through the ear pads and started to rust the screws that hold the ear cups together. I covered the screws with super glue to hopefully seal them off from sweat. I freaking love these headphones.

I bought this with $90 off so its perfect. I used to have the m40x for a few years and thought it was time to upgrade. I originally thought i was going to be able to track and record wirelessly but this was not indended for that since itll cause latency which i’ve only found out after receiving. Plus you’d need a transmitter to connect it to the interface via bluetooth and this would only work for post production since latency is negligable on that particular area.

While the m50xBT should be the next level version, the chorded option has a few set backs – 4ft cable w no locking mechanism and a right angled plug on the other end which makes it very easy to get detached from the interface. Needless to say the chord that came with it was worse than it’s previous version. But i guess they did that on purpose since it was meant to be used wirelessly(again not for tracking purposes though)

I did have to buy a 3rd party chord from Amazon which worked perfectly since it was 6ft long, braided, durable and came with a 1/4″ adapter with a thread so you can plug it in with a locking mechanism that kinda mimics the chord that came with the m40x. Link pasted down below

Having watched a ton of youtube reviews looking for good headphones, these seemed to top the quality list (note – there is no ANC). And they absolutely deliver on the quality side. I’m not audio-techy but I know comparing to my standard iphone earphones and other basic speakers, these are incredible. Comfort and battery life are also fantastic – can wear them for hours at a time without fatigue, and am charging the headset about once every two weeks. If you don’t need noise cancellation, definitely get these.

These sound really good – the improvement over a pair of $75 headphones is noticeable. Bluetooth works great and the battery seems to last forever. They’re comfortable, durable, and handle good volume.
There’s one fatal flaw that drives me crazy every time I need to use it. Eventually the battery will die, and if you happen to need them during that time, good luck finding a cable that fits. I own roughly 7 or 8 1/8 inch headphones cables, ranging in length from 1 foot to 25 feet. I can only use one of them – the rest don’t even come close to fitting the jack on the headphones. The hole is too small and they all stop when the plastic of the cord hits the plastic of the headphones.. It isn’t impossible to use them without bluetooth, just really incovenient.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis review is almost after 1.5 years of usage. I owned a pair of audio technica M20X before these headphones, so I was already impressed by the sound quality of these headphones in the wired form however I was slightly apprehensive about how they would perform wireless. Below are the likes and dislikes I have developed over the last 1.5 years.

    Likes:
    1. Excellent sound quality: They produce excellent mids and high and adequate bass(not too much of it to interfere with the music). Very clear and accurate sound. Perfect for all types of music but if you’re looking for bass heavy headphones, these are not for you

    2. Build quality: These are built like a tank. Even with my rough usage there are hardly any issues with them. Really sturdy overall.

    3. Comfort: These are highly comfortable and can easily be worn for long periods of time. It might take being used to if these are your first over the ear headphones.

    4. Battery life: Quite impressive battery life. They charge to full in about 4 hours or less and with real world usage they have about 3-4 days of battery.

    5. Bluetooth connectivity and zero lag: The range on these is pretty good, and there’s no noticeable lag even when gaming casually.

    Dislikes:

    1. Poor microphone quality: One big issue I realised during the pandemic is how appalling the mic is. Several times people have told me that my voice is too low when I am using the mic on this headphone. So if you want a good mic this doesn’t have it.

    2. Charging mechanism: it doesn’t have the type c port for charging which could be an incovenience if your other gadgets are type c compatible. Also there’s no fast charging.

    3. Absence of active noise cancellation: The headphones isolate the noise well but if you’re looking for ANC then these headphones don’t have it, but given the price(12.5 K INR) at which I bought them, I don’t miss it.

    4. Servicing centres: Although these headphones are really high quality, I am not sure if they have any service centres in India, so if they I am not sure who to reach out to

    Conclusion:
These headphones are a really good upgrade over my previous m20X wired headphones and I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality being so good. So if you’re looking to buy a pairs of well built wireless headsets which get the basics rights in terms of sound quality, I can wholeheartedly recommend these, however you’ll have to live the poor quality mic.

If you’re familiar with the non Bluetooth version of the M50X’s then expect that superb sound just without the cord. There is a hole for the cord to be connected if you want to go that route so it does allow these things to last once the battery fades after time.

The sound is without a doubt way better than it should be for this price point. $150* for the non Bluetooth version and $180* for these. I mean you really can’t beat those numbers with how good the sound is for these headphones. The M50X’s blow Beats and Bose headphones out of the water easily and for half the price. That goes for the newest headphones these companies have as well and the M50X’s have been around for a while, even longer if you’re going by the regular M50’s and how they came out around a decade and a half ago now.

If for whatever reason you’re reading this and unsure about getting a pair of these because you might want a pair of something else, then just do yourself a favor and get these. There’s no question that these have an amazingly clear sound to them and again, for the price you’re paying, you really can’t do better.

The bass is clear, the definition of movies through my iPad Pro are amazing. I love the neutral reference of the headphone and that it doesn’t color the sound like Beats or Sony. For a little over 100 bucks you cannot find anything comparable. Sure, they might get out matched by a set that is 3 or 4 times the price, but could you really justify paying that much for a likely dead heat in sound quality? Maybe if true monitoring in a professional studio were the case, maybe. Other than that I cannot think of a better set for the common listener.
The headset is comfortable and fits nicely over my ears. The folding action of the cans is also nice. I wish the carrying bag was bigger and the fact that you must use the included cables (nope, your 1/8″ cables will not work). If you want a killer set of cans and you want the best sound quality and style does not hurt your feelings these are for you.

Glad I paid the extra 30 for bluetooth capability because these headphones come with me every where I go. Sometimes have to wear them for meetings in work and then use them in the evenings so can easily wrack up 10 hours in a day and I forget I am wearing them. Extremely comfortable and amazing sound quality – since getting these I often hear new background details in songs I’ve heard hundreds of times.

The build quality is also astounding but if for whatever reason these ever break or are lost I will be buying the exact same pair again.

Not rated noise cancellation as these are not sold as noise cancelling headphones, though they are closed back so they passively cut out more noise than average earphones would do. If you’re in a noisy work environment and this would annoy you then perhaps consider another pair, but otherwise I can’t recommend the ATH-M50s enough.

Not the best for noise cancelling but OMG THE SOUND QUALITY!! I’ve never heard music so detailed and crisp. There’s a reason you see all the pros using them. Look up recording sessions of artists and 90% of them are wearing these or some variation like Justin Bieber, Arianna grande, Shawn menses, Ryan tedder etc. It’s actually crazy how they’re everywhere with the pros but nowhere in the public. These should be the standard.

Theres a noticeable difference (to me who has a sensitivity to audio due to a sensory processing disorder) between being jacked in with a chord or being wireless in terms of audio quality difference. But these are great for if you have any sensory processing disorders or autism. They dont press too much for me , though for some that may be different. They do press my ears against my head in an ok way (I have big 1″ plugs in my lobes so that’s to be expected). Their battery life is great. And I have had 0 connectivity issues.
These are great for the price, there are definitely more on the market that work better. But these were amazing for their price point and I was willing to shell out an extra 100 bucks (originally was only gonna spend like 50 on a headset that wasn’t wireless) but the wireless feature has been the best thing about these when I’m having a sensory issue and need to use music to block everything out.

Funzionamento via cavo: impeccabile, suonano esattamente come via Bluethoot, stessa chiarezza e stessa firma sonora.

Portabilit: collassano diventando piccole e facilmente trasportabili.

    CONTRO:

    Ottima Cuffia Bluthoo

    What a great headphones!
A few weeks ago I was going to use my Dr Dre Studio 1 headphones. Wanted to connect them to my AVR recieiver (wired), but found them faulty (left channel was quieter than right channel). Next day I have googled” searching for new pair of headphones. Came across ATH M50 xBt… After checking quite a few reviews decided to give it a go. Got them ordered and when arrived I have connected them to my iPhone and got Spotify on. First impression was: well they definitely sounds different to AirPods. Second impression: they definitely sounds better than AirPods. But lets put my findings in order…
I bought those headphones to connect them to my telly, so I have paired them to my LG CX using Blueetooth and… absolutely great! No sound lags at all. Of course sound isn’t the same as my 5.1 home surround, but really good alternative when you don’t want to keep your neighbours awake at night when watching movies;)
Now music… These headphones have aptx codec and bluetooth 5.0, so when you connect them with compatible device you will get almost loosless sound (unfortunatelly iPhones don’t have aptx codec). However, they sound great for me anyway. Saying this I must point out that my Spotify audio quality settings are set to very high”. I did listen all my top albums and artists and I am really impressed. Radiohead, Massive Attack, Marillion (especially Marbles”), Steven Wilson, Antimatter, The Prodigy… All of the music I love I can discover again. Eye in the Sky” by The Alan Parsons Project sounds AMAIZING. However the full potential of this headphones you will discover when you connect them (wirely) to the stereo system. I have old Denon CEOL N7 and when I plugged this ATH and played Madonna’s Rain” it blowed my mind.
Everybody has their own taste” in music spectrum, but if you are not a enhanced bass maniac you will love this headphones.
If you used other pair of different headphones, just give yourself a few hours of listening ATH bedore your ears adapt to new sound.
Only one negative thing about them is that you can have them connected via bluetooth to one device at the time. When you want to connect to the another one you will need to disconnect it from first one and connect to the one you want…
Baterry life is impressing! 38 hrs of use and still 9%!
There is no active noise cancellation feature, but to be honest I did walk the street and passive noise cancellation is good enough.

Consistent….I have the original M50 and built up my headphones for various uses (Travel, In home studio, podcasting, etc.) and bought these for my Everyday use and travel. The original M50’s i used for DJing replacing my old Sony V700’s (the Standard for me), and they fit the bill. * was hoping these to be all arounders to replace bluetooth earbuds when I need them too, or just to block out eveyone while working…a few caveates, but workable and hope they last as long as the M50’s (which are still in use for studio work and podcasting duties)

build quality – It is up there with the M line. Clamping force on the head is there. It feels a but stiffer compared to my M50 and M50X’s, but these are brand new, so they should break in quite nicely. By the way…I also replaced the earpads with Brainwaves ProStocks….better noise blocking, and softer on the clamping force for long periods of use.

Sound Quality – This is where i dropped it a bit. The sound quality was not up to par when using Bluetooth. I had better quality using the wire (which made sense when using Dolby Atmos that was built into the S10), but again, that’s not why I bouth these to begin with….even when My phone was optimized, the sound was lacking. Maybe I need to burn in the headphones, but it would be nice if the audio was just as good out of the box rather than foing theough the hassle of breaking them (so the drivers are good and loose). These are fairly flat, ao its not an issue for studio use for me, but again, it would be n8ce if they were tuned right out of the box to sound great immediately.

Not much to really say…I am looking forward to uaing these, but you think the audio would be up to par to all the other high end headphones that have come out over the last 5 years….the price was good, but for what Im going to need these for, I’m not complaining (I have a full set of M50’s, which also means these are my personal favorites).

I own ATHM50XBT headphones and love it, even though they are not the best headphones for everyday music listening. I mostly use them for playing my Yamaha electronic piano. My piano sounds much richer, crisp and clear through these headphones as compared with the built in speakers or the other headphones I have.

For everyday casual music listening I would say there are better headphones in market for similar price range. These headphones do not have active noise cancellation and are not even as comfortable to wear as compared to similar Bose or Sony models.

    Things I like about it:
Great sound quality for playing my piano
You do not need to keep them powered on (to get good sound) while using wired, unlike other headphones.
    Great built quality
Sound quality at par whether wired or wireless

    Things I disliked:
Bass not good enough for regular music listening
Ear pads not as comfortable (though I replaced it with an aftermarket earpads and fixed that problem)

Overall, these are probably the only headphones currently in market that offer the professional sound monitoring quality along with the flexibility of having Bluetooth connectivity.

I’m really struggling to understand the negative reviews on here with these headphones.
In a past life I was a sound engineer and have been fortunate enough to listen to wide variety of headphones and systems over the years. These cans punch well above their weight for their price. Bluetooth quality above acceptable, no break in signal. Logically some compression is going on but the quality of the driver makes up for this. Wired even better.
As for people complaining about comfort, the pads / head band are great and I’ve got a big head. My head is mahoosive. It’s planetoid. Things go into orbit around my head. I have a big head. I wore these for 4 hours straight, no problems.
Sound is on the bright side but still has plenty of bass when called for. Definition is excellent (wired). Volume is limited but that’s for a reason. They don’t want you suing them when you’re 45 years old and have destroyed all of the hair cells in your cochlea. They are loud enough.
I can only assume they have been updated or tweaked since the 1 star reviews were given.
I think they’re great value for a great sound. Want better, spend more, a lot more.

I got these to replace my aging ATH-M50 wired set. Overall the Bluetooth variant is pretty much the same quality in all respects.

All I would say is the M50XBT set are eq’d a bit more towards the low end compared to the flat eqbof the older wired set.

Battery life is good enough for me and I’ve been wearing these pretty much every day for around 4 hours with no comfort issues.

    Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIch bin von dem Kopfhrer begeistert!

    Also hier mein Fazit:
Sehr zu empfehlen, solange alles funktioniert 🙂

The sound quality from these headphones is very good. I mostly use headphones when playing my synth set up, which requires the use of a cable. The cable supplied with these headphones is completely useless for this, the sound is terrible unless the button in the middle is pressed, which means you have to tape it in the closed position. It’s also too short. Standard 3.25 audio cables won’t fit the headphone socket, so a more expensive cable is required. Considering the price of these, a decent sized compatible audio cable should be supplied. Considering how often I use these wirelessly I should have bought the cheaper cabled version that comes with two decent cables.

I like these a lot, and I have been using them for Ableton. I find my mixes are a lot better. For the price they are well worth it. Battery life lasts ages, I charge them about once every couple of weeks. Comfortable but feel heavy, and get a sweaty head after a couple hours. The assistant is annoying as I keep triggering it by touching the cans, hence the one star off, and but I say buy them!!!

Astounding value for money. Earcups are comfortable and isolating to ignore the lack of ANC. Sound quality is brilliant. Battery life is excellent. One downside; lack of usb type c; however I’m happy to overlook this for the the value for money it provides.

Others complained of failing to get their cashback. I’m happy to say I got my cashback very easily, although it did take a few weeks.

Having received a faulty pair from ebay supposedly unused i returned them as they had a blown left driver but i knew despite this that they were beautiful headphones. I immediately went to Amazon where i found that there was a deal on so snatched up a new pair from the Audio-Technica store. Delivery was as expected next day and i eagerly awaited my new cans! The very moment i put them on i knew they were perfect for me they fit well are comfortable light weight and amazing quality. I decided to try downloaded music direct from my phone (rather than streaming) i chose a few different genre’s to test out the full range of the headphones and i must say i have been blown away by the sheer quality of the sound, deep rich bass detailed mids and soft but noticeable highs, i am in love with these headphones. My only negative is the lag experienced when watching films on tv although this is my fault as i did know that they were Apt-x but not low latency so i can’t really complain. Otherwise they are a fantastic well made beautifully reproducing pair of headphones. Thank you for opening my ears to the sounds i should have been listening to for years!

l’app audiotechnica connect abbastanza inutile: serve solo a sapere quanta batteria rimanente avete.

These are pretty basic headphone with nice sound (probably the best sound in wireless cans at this price).

    Pros:
    – Sound
    – Battery life is great
    – AAC codec support
    – Price

    Cons:
    – Ver uncomfortable compared to all other headphones at this price point. I’d expect more from a ‘studio’ headset
    – Due to a recessed headphone jack, most 3.5mm cables don’t securely fit. So if you break/lose your included cable (or need a different length) it may be a challenge to find a usable cable. Seems like a pointless & bad design choice.
    – No multi-device connection support for bluetooth. While not necessary, it’s a very nice feature most wireless headphones have in 2020.
    – Charges with micro USB instead of USB C

Overall these are pretty basic headphones, but if your focus is sound quality, this is your budget and you don’t need ANC, I’d recommend them.
The Jabra Elite 85h are a good alternative if you need ANC and want to spend a similar amount.

They’d be 5star if they were simply more comfortable

Nice but notice cancellations is not what I expected . Also, I expected better sound too. I like the option that I can use cable and 3.5 jack as a option which is fantastic.
As a whole it could be me and my expectation as I am still using another headphones of Dr.Dre with AAA batteries inside which give better deeper sound but does not work without batteries.

These are easily the best wireless headphones I have used to date. The battery life is amazig, easily lasting through 30 hours of active use before needing to be charged. I usually charge them for 30 min to 1 hour per day, but that’s really not necessary – just dead battery paranoia from other devices. The sound quality is great, coming in slightly under the Sennheiser HD 599 SE’s, mainly due to their less spacious sound stage. That’s to be expected, though, as these are close backed, where the Sennheisers are open back. The pads are quite comfortable unless I get warm, but it does take a bit of fiddling to find the right setting to balance the clamping force. I can easily wear these headphones for 10+ hours with little to no pain or fatigue in my ears. They are also able to easily connect to multiple computers and my phone with no issue remembering each device, so no need to re-pair them every time I switch. They can be used while charging, though I wouldn’t recommend it, both because I haven’t checked whether that might damage them, and because the one time I tried it there was a significant loss of sound quality (poorly isolated ground, maybe?). The one thing I would wish for is an updated version with USB-C charging instead of micro USB, as I would rather carry fewer cables.

  48. EmmettLawless says:

I’ve been using these for a about a month now. They are not going to change your life, nor the way you listen to music. Not to say that they are bad, but I expected more since I had never spent more than $40 on a set of headphones before. There is certainly a difference however, in the quality of the sound (I wont pretend to know the terms). Seems clearer, and the high notes don’t seem to distort as much, plus good bass. The BT is seamless, pairing directly up to my phone and computer. Though the sound quality takes a hit in BT mode, it’s still a few steps above any other BT headphones I’ve used. I would recommend these to someone who wanted to enjoy a pretty good quality sound (wired or wireless), but didn’t expect audiophilic perfection.

If these still works in a year, I’ll give it the 5th star.

For sound quality alone, there is no way to fault these headphones.

Clear sound across the entire spectrum, with a little oomph to the bass which to me is just at the right amount to give things a little punch without losing clarity. Everything sounds nicely balanced, you can listen to music for hours without tiring your ears.

Build quality is rather good, and at least for me they are quite comfortable. I spend most of my days with the headphones on and they still feel fine at the end of the day.

Which brings me to the practical side of things. Having such great sound quality for music on headphones that I can use wirelessly for calls in these days of remote working is a joy. The Bluetooth pairing works well and is very quick. Battery duration is also good, I can go through days of heavy use without charging.

The only downside is the slightly picky control buttons, and the lack of a button to “reconnect” to bluetooth after the computer goes idle and drops the connection – you have to switch the headphones off and on again.

Ok! I never leave reviews but these are too good.

Long time Beats Solo 3 user, recently discovered Tidal for Hifi quality streaming (Way better than Spotify for audio quality). Wanted a great set of headphones to fully appreciate the audio quality. First tried a pair of Grado 225e’s. Crazy uncomfortable. I didn’t think it would bother me but it did. The Grado highs/mids are beautiful but sometimes a bit harsh. Low-end was virtually nonexistent. I was also in a conundrum with the huge Grado cable and its weak clamp force. Would these fall in the sink while I’m doing the dishes? Not secure at all.

    Insert the M50XBT.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. Wireless when you need to be wireless. Very subtle audio quality substitute for that portability.

Wired when you have the chance to just sit and enjoy tunes.

Great clamp force. Very comfortable. Great low-end. These phones put a smile on my face and made me want to dance.

If you really want to melt into your tunes, add in a Dragonfly Black and these SING.

    ATH50xBT + Tidal + Dragonfly Black= Happiness.

    You’re welcome.

I wouldn’t call my self an audiophile but I do want my equipment to sound amazing. I had heard about these headphones and having never heard of Audio Technica I was reluctant to spend so much without doing some research. The reviews on here were great and then I started to spot them on musicians (see Lady Gaga’s lockdown tune video), in films (the new Bill and Ted) and other places. I have to say, they’re the best headphones I’ve ever heard (previously been using Shure SE425 ear monitors). Pros:
    – Crystal clear sound
    – Noise cancellation is awesome (so awesome that my wife now have fun pranking me)
    – 9/10 comfort (one point lost because they are too hot)
    – Aesthetic is AWESOME, they look great, they feel great. Premium all the way

    Cons:
    – They are hot in long usage
    – BT pairing is not “multiple devices”. I paired them with two computer and a cellphone, first to connect is the one to “own” the pairing. Need to disable Bluetooth on every device to make sure it’s pairing with the right one. My other earphone just connect with everything then when one make a sound boom it take the “lead”.

This is my 1st bluetooth headset. I have been a wired person for years and I finally decided to go the BT route since I like to just listen untethered and be able to move around and not have to disconnect. Did alot of homework and the AT headphones came out on top. The separation between left and right is amazing! And I am able to hear notes and instruments I never heard with cheap ear buds, headphones and I hate to say it…even my Bose headsets!. The original cups on the headset are a wee bit small and I feel a little trapped in them. I did buy some aftermarket cups but have not yet put them on. Battery life is awesome and lives up to the specs. Button placement is a pain especially if I want to fast forward to the next song. But its something I can get past. Definitely well worth it considering the price point. Although not active noise canceling, the cups do a great job masking out the external noise.

They are not “the best” by any means.

Really good sound quality for Bluetooth headphones. For home use the bass on them can be a bit overpowering in comparison to the open back headphones I use at home. I mainly brough them to use them on the commute, and in that situation the bass doesn’t seem as overblown due to background noise.

The sound isolation is okay for headphones without any noise cancellation, but bear in mind if you wear them somewhere extremely noisy like a bus they will not block out all the noise.

The battery life is good, and the 40 hour advertised seems right.

The comfort of them is okay too. The top of the headband can be a bit uncomfortable sometimes, but not bad enough to stop using them.

Not great if you want noise cancelling.

The battery life is INSANE. Barely ever have to charge it.

If I use the mic built into the headphones are rubbish, if I use them for a call the person on the other end will always say they can barely hear me. If you use the mic on the aux cable this is great.

The controls on the headphones are good, handy however I never use the Google assistant.

Up until this point, I’ve never owned Audio Technica headphones…

There are no words to express how these headphones sound. It’s the type of product that you need to try for yourself.

I have never heard headphones this good in my life! If your phone has aptX, your in luck because these headphones support it. Pair that with Spotify “very high aka extreme quality” then your golden.

Bass is just right, highs and mids are perfect. You end up noticing flaws in some songs that the artists didnt notice!

They feel amazing and cancel noise like you wouldnt believe! Even if you have volume at max, which we’ll get to in a second, there is very, very little leak.

    About the volume…

For years, I’ve always maxed my volume out. These…are different. This get VERY loud! So loud that I have to keep the volume at about 80%! I’ve never had to turn down the volume on headphones so that should tell you something.

I havent tried watching movies with it but havent noticed latency with YouTube videos.

Would I suggest these headphones? Yeah…yeah I would.

Best headphones for under $200 by far. Bye, bye Bose and Sony; Audio Technica has come to play!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are absolutely amazing headphones and in true Audio Technica style they offer the same type of performance as the competition for half the price. I am not even exaggerating – I previously had a pair of B&W headphones which sounded very “muddy” compared to these (they couldn’t handle FLAC at all) and yet they were the same price! B&W is of course a respectable audio company and I’m sure they do make headphones as good as these and probably better, but not at this price.

I first tried these plugged into my Sony A45 and played some FLAC files. You can hear the full detail without distortion even at a high volume. I also use them with a DAC plugged into my computer to stream Tidal HiFi and they sound great here too. You really do need a good source and good quality files to get the most out of these, but if you have those, the audio quality speaks for itself.

I got the wireless model simply so I have the option of using them via bluetooth while travelling, when convenience is the preference over sound quality. In bluetooth mode they work as well as you probably expect – which is to say, you will always get lossy audio through a bluetooth connection regardless of your source, but they still sound very reasonable and the connection itself is solid even in busy areas with many signals around you. For reference, in bluetooth mode I am usually connecting them to my iPhone or iPad.

Most of the time I use them plugged into my laptop, DAC, or Sony portable so I can enjoy them to their full potential and again they do not disappoint at all. These are my daily headphones and have been for around six months. I have zero regrets about the purchase.

I highly recommend these to anyone who wants the best possible value on excellent headphones that can provide the full potential of lossless audio for under 200.

Cuffia ben solida e comoda. Ha i presupposti per durare nel tempo.

    BATTERIA:

Already own the wired version of these headphones and have always been delighted with the sound quality.. These are every bit as good, work well with both the phone and Bluetooth transmitter. Excellent quality and sound

I had decided that I needed a good set of headphones for listening to music but most of the time would be used for work, working from home and on calls for most part of the day.
Only after that did I see that there was a Bluetooth version, with 40hrs battery !
Sound quality is excellent, I wear these all day as they are comfortable and the battery allows me to.
Excellent quality for the price, I have no reservations in recommending!

The noose cancellation only works when semi loud but when it works it works for me these aren’t the most comfortable as it feels quite heavy and tight probably due to its 40 hour batteries I love these headphones tho and that rarely happens I don’t even feel like I need to equalise anything the mids anf lows are incredibly predominant.

Great headphones. You can wear them for hours with minimal pain in ears. Really relaxing to wear.

I rarely ever write a review on a product. let me just start by saying i’ve had it all…. really… i don’t think there is a set i haven’t tried or owned. i almost always wonder why the heck did i just pay 400 bucks for these things they all sound the same…. and then behold the Audio Technica…. seriously i cant say enough about the quality of these headphonnes…. the sound could not be any m ore perfect… you will hear every note the way its meant. the bass and treble are well balanced with the Bass being deeper than i expected, but it is not to the point where it just distorts the sound of everything else. i mean it may almost ruin certain songs for you as you will be able to hear EVERYTHING. even how the note drops off… i bought these mainly for COD warzone cuz i was tired of getting snuck up on. but i also wanted something i can use with my PC and music making, without any headache…. this is almost an unfair advantage because i can legit hear footsteps 3 houses down in COD with pinpoint accuracy, i can tell if they are upstairs or down. inside or out. just stupid accurate. never thought i would actually come across something this good at this price point….. if you are sitting down and researching what the next headset to buy should be…. just go ahead and send an extra 200 to audio technica because these things are worth far more than any 400 dollar headphones ive had over my neglected ears.

a note… IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH PS4. just not Bluetooth so the included wire will work just fine. it also has a mic so you’re set there. i almost didn’t buy since i read it wasnt. but its absolutely compatible, just ask the gulagers:)…. hope this helped make your decision a little easier.

+ Appli Audio Technica Connect efficace pour les mises jour over the air.

These headphones sound good straight out the box. (I did allow a 10 hour burn-in period to get the best out of the headphones)

I used Beats studio 2 headphones for years so I’m used to a bass heavy sound. The Audio Technica headphones have a much more balanced sound with a kick of bass. (And loud compared to Sony’s offerings)

Sound cancellation is poor with no music playing.

Overall a better choice than beats if you gets them in the 100-150 price range.

Glad i decided on these instead of a well known German brand.I like everything about them , music sounds amazing .Bass could be better but i can tweak that to get the depth i like.
