    Previously I had a Beelink BT3-Pro. It served me and my needs very well for the most part. I felt the want to upgrade slightly. Machine is all that it is cracked up to be. For me, it’s a bit more zippy than the BT3. Most of the features are nice but pretty much standard. This GK-Mini is just what I wanted. It arrived intact and adequately packaged with no apparent damage. A bit of an issue with trying to turn it on. Seems that with this particular machine, you simply have to press the power button one quick time in order for it to start. I was pressing the button a bit too long and it would start to power up and then shut off. Quickly figured that out and no further issues.
    Time will tell, but for now I’m happy and satisfied with the purchase.

    Disclosure: I admit I am not “Mr Current Events” when it come to current technology, but I try.

    My trusty old HP 17″ laptop died and I was forced to replace it. I discovered this little PC and took a chance on it. Skeptical at first but reminding myself that technology is getting smaller by the day, why not? Im amazed. Easy to set up. Runs long hours daily without a blip. Hooked it up to a 32″ flat screen TV and wireless mouse and keyboard…WOW! Streaming movies off Amazon, AppleTv, Youtube and etc. This little unit can be put in a coat pocket or a pocket on cargo pants(if youre still wearing those things).
    I will never do laptops again.

    Great for a home assistant setup.

    I upgraded to this from a raspberry pi, it a lot more powerful and stable.

    Works well for me. Came as advertised. It takes about a half hour to set up. Boots up fast. I have only done small tasks with it up to this point, but I can tell you that it works great.

    Purchased for $205 January 17th and built an SCPrime Server (crypto miner) with it. Uptime is 100% and stability is 100%. The goal of this unit is to run passively in the background and it is perfectly suited! Also, they give you windows 11 with it. Not intended for gaming, which is the only reason it cant get more stars there.

    I’ve been really impressed with this little PC. The speed and most importantly the quietness of it! I’ve got it running as a little ‘mini server’ which I run various apps from and it’s working like a dream. It works fine without a monitor connected so I have it running away happily under my stairs out of the way 🙂 The ability to add a new internal drive in the future is also a huge benefit but for the time being I’ve just attached an external hard drive to it for extra, cheap storage.

    This little PC is perfect as a little bit more expensive version of the RPI4 which are currently hard to get (March 2022).

    The Beelink has a ton more features and comes with either Windows10 or Windows11 installed. It can also run Linux although I have not tried it yet.

    I have purchased numerous units for industrial process control and other applications.

    It has autostart capability and so can run unattended. RDP can allow one to manage multiple units from one laptop or desktop.

    Cheaper versions of the same exist with lower disk size and performance.

    Good Buy!

    Beelink GK-Mini J4125, 8GB ram 256 GB SSD
    Pros:
    1. Really tiny for a PC, quite well built with a metal base. Can go anywhere (e.g wall behind the TV with the supplied hardware)
    2. Fan is quiet (non-throttling) and can be easily tolerated. This will probably extend the life of the unit which is barely warm during use.
    3 Has 4 USB3 ports for peripherals and 2 HDMI outlets for multiple monitors.
    4. The CPU (Celeron J4125) has modest performance but the GPU (Intel UHD 600) supports 4k 60 Hz and delivers superb images/videos to my LG 4K monitor.
    5. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed with zero bloatware. I installed Chrome, Irfanview and VLC separately in no time.
    6. LAN connection is solid (have not tried WiFi or Bluetooth)

    Cons:
    1. Comes with no instructions. It does have a label recommending creating a local user during first startup with internet disconnected. This turns out to be essential.
    2. The PC hardware and the supplied Windows 10 has driver incompatibility. During use, Task Manager shows that the service Windows Audio Endpoint Builder takes up a steady 35% CPU, crippling the PC. A check with device manager will show the driver (Intel display audio driver that powers the HDMI audio) is already the latest. A scan using the Intel Driver Assistant also did not show an update available for this driver. No amount of fiddling fixed this issue until I manually initiated a Windows update, which somehow found and installed a later version of the display audio driver (version 2020 instead of 2019). The PC is now back to normal with ~0% CPU at idle. The Windows update resulted in some bloatware installed which I had to manually delete, a small price to pay.
    3. Playing AV1 encoded videos (resource intensive) with VLC reaches the limit of this Mini quickly. At 1080, play is smooth but at 1440, play is laggy as CPU touches 100 percent, and at 4K, play freezes or won’t start. Interestingly, most of the difficult files (including 4k) will play nicely through the Chrome browser which might have a more efficient AV1 decoder in its built-in video player. Rare to see VLC (v 3.0.16) got beat.

    Aside from the initial pain of configuring/customizing a new PC, specially to a 4K monitor, I found this Mini-PC to be quite adequate. It starts in 30 seconds, surfs the web quickly, with multiple tabs opened. It will play 4K video (H264 encoded) without a glitch using VLC and stream 1080 content quite happily. Overall, it behaves like a mid-level desktop and can serve as such with an external drive connected via USB. When used with a 4K monitor/TV, the 4K display output produces stunning images/video with lots of detail and texture, great for photo editing work. Recommended.
    I gave this 5 stars but had wished Beelink would be more thorough in checking driver compatibility first before release (to save me some grief).

    If you’re just using this for very basic needs, this product is for you.

    I bought this for our shop for our time clock program because the old desktop that was used to run the program has already quit (was running the earliest version of Windows 7).

    I set it up and tweaked it to access our main server, and it works fine. I just installed basic softwares (PDF reader, word, excel) and that’s it.

    I won’t recommend this for gaming nor “heavyweight” programs because it can only perform basic tasks.

    Use this as a lightweight desktop PC for web browsing , email, general day-day usage. It is fast and working great. Was looking at refurbished PC or ‘all in one’ but pairing this with a new monitor and bluetooth keyboard / mouse it works a treat.

    I previously owned an Intel NUC which was several times the cost of this. Compared to the NUC, this is:

    …better value for money;
    …easier to get working and running;
    …Just as capable for everything except gaming;
    …uses less power.

    It won’t replace my gaming PC any time soon but for other activities, it’s great value!

    I have had a hp mini for 7 years connected to my tv for internet activity and some microsoft apps with our any issues. I decided on another mini pc and bought this beelink. I have used it for 2 weeks and it more than matches and exceeds the aging hp. All updates to Windows 10 complete successfully. Quick start up and everything working ok. No stars for gaming or fingerprint as not applicable. 5 star for usability and value

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to turn into a media server and it does the job well using Ubuntu server.
    It is a pity that you are forced to buy this with Windows 10 as I did not need that.
    It is also a pity that there were only 2 options for the SSD. I opted for the 128Gb as it was the smallest available then bought a 1Tb 2.5″ SSD to mount internally as there was not a 1Tb option available. This works fine but was a bit wasteful.
    Overall the machines runs very quietly and serves media, over the network, very well indeed. It is good that there was a WiFi option as well as Ethernet as I was short on Ethernet ports to use.

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI always thought these mini PC’s like Intel NUCs were more like executive toys, overpriced or underpowered, and compromised to squeeze into a small box. Maybe they were once, but not anymore.

    When the Beelink arrived it was so small I felt like I was unboxing a new phone, and actually it felt like a proper quality consumer item. It comes with the PSU, cables and a vesa mounting kit so you can bolt it behind your monitor but it takes up so little desk space anyway.

    I intended to use this as a headless server and install Linux but once I booted into the preinstalled Windows 10 Pro, it ran so well I try an avoid the hassle and keep it. This would be great for everyday computing, honestly performed much better than I expected, browsing, streaming videos etc. Didn’t even bother with gaming and you shouldn’t either. However, would I be able to use it, as is, to take on some of my “always on” home server workloads including CCTV video for 4 HD cameras?

    Spoiler – Yes! I already have a big desktop i7 based 32GB Windows Server running Hyper-V as a media server, home automation (Home Assistant) and CCTV/DVR. Why bother? Rising energy costs! My big server is on 24×7 and I worked out this could save 20-30p day. It comes with 2A x 12V adapter so that would be under 25W max vs my big server averaging 140W.

    So, mine came with a 128GB M.2 and it was easy to add an extra 2.5″ 480GB SSD in the bottom. In addition I had a 1TB usb 2.5″ HDD which is powered direct off the USB3. So I installed Blue Iris CCTV and a MySQL database server direct on the box, and then added Hyper-V running Home Assistant and a Windows Server 2019 Domain Controller. Yes, its a squeeze inside 8GB, and I had tweak some settings, especially CCTV software which can be very cpu and memory intensive. Its now at 70-80% memory use and CPU is around 30-40%. You’d squeeze much more mileage out of headless Linux setup, maybe using containers. It was just so easy for me to use my existing Windows CCTV software and just move my existing Hyper-V VMs onto this.

    My big old server now sleeps during the day and what a difference that makes to the noise level in my home office! The Beelink isn’t silent and the fan is always on but it runs at at whisper level. Not only the noise but the heat level in the room too.

    I was sizing up a Raspberry 4 8GB kit instead, but this was only 50 more at the time. It gave me the choice of Windows or Linux, comes with a proper SSD not an SD card, and is actually more powerful. I think this is great value and I am so pleased I chose this.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy trusty old HP tower PC finally ground to a halt, so was looking for a reliable replacement. I saw these mini PC’s, and based on the reviews, decided to give this a go. When I opened the box I couldn’t believe how small these actually are (about 4.5 inches square). No way, I thought, would it accommodate all the bits and bobs needed, monitor, printer, ethernet, speakers, keyboard and mouse – but it did. And I still have a USB and HDMI port going spare. I had absolutely no problems with the set up procedure, it was a breeze. The system “talks you through” each set up sequence and it really couldn’t be easier. My only stumbling block was the connection from the monitor to the PC. I had the old “blue” large HDMI cable which was too large to fit the new PC so had to get a HDMI/DVI adaptor (7 from Amazon that arrived next day). It works brilliantly. I do not use this for gaming, purely for internet browsing, email, Office programmes, etc and I am blown away by how good it is. It is fast, efficient, quiet and so small I now have tons of space on my desk. Would highly recommend, and for around 200 what’s not to like?

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat little machine for a home server. I removed Windows 10 from it, and chose to install Proxmox instead. I now have Portainer and Docker installed directly into Proxmox and a VM running home-assistant. This only has the CPU pegged at 3%. This isn’t a gaming machine and shouldn’t be judged accordingly. MY version was 8gb ram / 256 gb m.2, it has room in the base (as shown in the photo) for an additional SSD.

    Great little unit, perfect for a home server or someone running really light work loads.

    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIt’s extremely small, I mean really small unit. It’s well designed as the heat escapes the box quite nicely without big fan noise. Very power efficiency as it takes not lot of energy to run, even 24/7 how I plan to run it. Got it to run few servers on it like ebooks, comics and other stuff which is more then enough to cope with all at maybe 7% to 10% Cpu usage. A lot of ram so no worries there. I’m quite surprised how good this build is, 4K, multitasking etc. No problems whatsoever, great mini pc for all uses apart of gaming I guess.
