Great sound via the preamp installed.
Also comes with a custom ASIO driver that allows you to listen to YouTube while your DAW open!
I use this interface to hook up two microphones to my pc, and it works perfectly.
The interface is built well with a metal shell, and the Midas preamps inside are a lot better than the Behringer Xenyx preamps that they put inside some of their products.
I currently have my Rode Podmic (Dynamic Microphone) hooked up through it, which is quite a gain hungry microphone and this interface supplies enough gain to power it without too much background hiss.
I bought this Audio Interface to set up a home studio (read ‘spare bedroom’!) as it had good reviews, I have used Behringer products before and have found them to be very functional and excellent VFM. I was originally going for the UMC402HD as I wasn’t sure that I needed 4 x Inputs/outputs but for the extra cost, I thought it was worth paying. I hooked it up to my DAW (Cakewalk), plugged in my guitar and was up and running in 10 mins., okay, add another 10 mins for downloading and installing the drivers and within a couple of minutes after of twiddling knobs, I had a rudimentary track created.
First impressions are very positive, everything seemed to work as I’d hoped and any limitations were mine. However, one shortfall, is the manual, in this case read ‘couple of pages’. Yes you can get by but the coverage of the ‘output’ section on the rear facing panel is quite frankly pathetic and gives the impression that it was rushed out to meet a deadline. It really is apalling and lets a very good product down and left me just plugging leads into every socket until I got a sound. If you are an experienced music Producer or Engineer, you may not have the same problem but surfing the ‘net, there are a lot of questions on this subject and quite frankly, not much in the way of answers. It really does let down a very good product.
In conclusion, a very good piece of recording equipment and there are numerous testimonies to this on Youtube but just a shame about the manual. By the way, it does come with a UK plug.

Firstly, this is a very good product, irrespective of its price, it does a fine job, is simple to setup and gets the sound into my mixer (ZMX862) very well via the ‘AUX IN’ ports.
Whats really disappointing is that despite it being 2021 and with a 2020 mac that such a device is required – Apple really need to return an optical or line out to their desktops – but i can say this little device really does a fanastic job. Just plug in, select ‘USB Codec’ for the output, run a decent wire from the headphone socket into the mixer, and its coming out of my amp/speakers wonderfully (which is the object, to get high quality audio from mac with potential for mixing into an amp).
Can very much recommend. If you need a simple mixer/usb setup cheaper than a fully integrated mixer with usb, then this is a cost effective way of doing it.
i was not looking for the best sound quality per se. I am using this to update my home office so that i can improve my audio setup for video conf calls. for it’s price, i think this is an excellent unit and i have no problem with it at all. Windows built-in driver would work fine but i have decided to set it up with Behringer’s driver so that i can use the device as 2 independent audio out, instead of a single 4 ch audio out device. Mic also works well with my MPM-1000 great.
So first of all this interface straight out of the box is of sturdy construction and comes with the required usb to hook it up.
It provides 48v of phantom power to my DI box no problem, and the preamps have a very distinctive texture that in my opinion are second in sound qualiry only to Audient, who are very expensive and give you less inputs and outputs for your money.
Both preamps are that weird hybrid kind that accept both jack leads and xlr cables, possibly more but unsure as i only tend to use those two.
The pad that you can toggle to set the preamp to line level or instrument level is pretty nifty and could save you from having to use a di box depending on what you’re plugging into it.
Direct monitoring is pretty cool too you can switch between stereo and mono, very useful when you use headphones, and can also adjust the mix to the point where you can only hear whats going into the interface, or what’s coming out of your DAW, and any blend of the two.
As well as the headphone jack on the front it can also have i think it’s two sets of monitors hooked up to the back which can be switched between on the front of the interface.
Only drawback personally is that the LED system to check levels and clipping is ony like, two lights one green one red but that’s fairly common amongst interfaces in and beyond this price range.
All this coupled with the fact that it’ll probably outlast my laptop and has midi ports on the back, makes me say that this is the ideal audio interface for producers/recording engineers, etc, who are starting a home setup, want a lot of options in terms of functionality and dont want to upgrade for a long time. And it’s extremely useful for people of all levels as a portable interface.
Fantastic piece of hardware for a fantastic price.
I’m using this to record my old vinyl records into digital files which I can play on my phone and other devices. I’m very impressed by it.
My record player is connected to my NAD3020A amp. I’ve connected the Behringer UCA222 to the Tape ports on the back of the amp using my own amp cables, and then connected the Behringer to my Windows 10 laptop using its USB cable. On my laptop I’ve installed the free Audacity software for doing the recording. It’s all working wonderfully. I’m very impressed by the sound. Of course, you are not going to get the quality of a modern high-definition audio recording, but I think the Behringer is giving a very faithful recording of my records.
Setting up was far easier than I expected. Other than downloading Audacity, I didn’t need to download any other software or drivers. The only glitch was that the sound was initially being processed by my laptop as mono. Looking some helpful reviews, I realised I needed to change to the settings for this recording device to “2 channel 16 bit 44100 Hz”. To do this on my laptop (others may differ slightly): open the Control Panel; from the Sound menu choose Sound Control Panel, then choose Recording. From the Sound pop-up window, select Microphone 2-USB Audio CODEC to open the Microphone Properties, then select the desired 2 channel 16 bit setting from the Default Format panel. Having done that once, I have not needed change it since.
Although no software is supplied with the UCA222, the recommended free Audacity is good. It looks a bit daunting at first, but the basics are pretty simple, with an interface similar to a tape recorder. And there are some simple inbuilt tutorials to guide you through some other things you might want to do, such as click removal, channel balancing, track marking, and removing inter-track noise.
I was hesitant to buy the UCA222, having read some of the reviews that encountered problems. However, for my needs — recording records via my amp — it’s working superbly.
After trying a Scarlett and being horrified by the crackly controls and appalling build quality, I got this. I have quite a lot of pro-level kit and worked in the broadcast industry for 22+ years, but this was my first Behringer kit, which I wanted because a 24 channel interface is overkill. This is brilliant and is exactly what I need for my Zoom teaching. I feed it from an analogue mixer, which means I have physical controls which I use for my personal mic and stereo harp microphones, plus an easy adjustment of headphone volume using the Behringer’s controls. Superb sound quality. Very, very impressed. It’s a keeper!!
I’m not a professional musician but to me this feels and operates like a professional piece of kit.
I have four keyboards in a home set up and previous to acquiring this had been using a two input Presonus audio interface, which meant that I could only use two keyboards in mono or one in stereo at any one time.
While I’m not an octopus and able to play four keyboards simultaneously it meant that each time I wanted to play a different keyboard I’d have to keep plugging and unplugging the inputs which was a pain.
This solved the problem and allowed me to have four keyboards permanently connected in stereo.
However it also allows the versatility of multiple instruments being inputted at the same time, so I’d imagine would be ideal for bands using it in a live set-up. Compared to the Presonus unit which feels ‘tinny’, this appears heavy and solid with all the knobs and dials having a quality feel to them.
So far I’ve been really impressed with this interface, and for the price would consider it to be a bargain.
Highly recommended.
Y as fica siempre a encendido.
A superb sound card. I am happy with the sound quality and ergonomics
Used with W10 running MAGIX SW. Excellent!
Also used with a LINUX OS on a laptop with excellent results.
I’ve also used this as a microphone and headphone amplifier on messenger . Far superior to using a webcam microphone!
It is compact, sturdy and does all I require from an audio interface.
Money well spent.
This interface was bought for my wife who is a professional musician and has lots of recording experience; she is very happy with this unit. Sound quality is awesome, ease of use too! This is a perfect addition to our Apple computing system.
I needed a condenser microphone for when I’m taking online video calls with clients and work mates. This worked perfectly to connect my mic into my mac, plus it has an additional input for when I feel like playing around with my keyboard in FL Studio.
It has a nice weight and feels like it’s well made. I literally just plugged it in with the USB cable and the mic into the interface and it worked without any issues.
The Focusrite 2i2 costs almost twice as much as the UMC204HD, and yet it has so many more features. This is because Focusrite’s actual equivalent of the UMC204HD is the Focusrite 4i4, which costs even more than the 2i2.
The most irritation I had with the 2i2 was that it wouldn’t play system audio out the back into my speaker monitors. It would only ever play anything through the speakers if I was in a DAW and I set the ASIO device to Focusrite USB. I couldn’t use it to play anything else through the speakers, such as YouTube videos, Movies, etc.
Additionally, the 2i2 would occasionally make my microphone start crackling and sound robotic. Restarting my PC would not remedy this, the only way to get rid of it would be to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Their customer support is awful, as they had the audacity to say that a large portion of returns on their 2i2 units had no hardware faults whatsoever, even though all of the complaints were about their godawful drivers.
Not only does the UMC204HD actually make my monitors work in all applications, but it has separate volume controls for the headphone jack and the main out where the speakers play. On the 2i2, the microphone/instrument inputs are panned hard left and right, and there is no hardware option to make them both mono inputs, so you have to do it in software such as voicemeeter. On the UMC204HD, there is a button that lets you choose between mono and stereo inputs that saves you all of this hassle. You also get MIDI i/o, so you can plug in a MIDI keyboard or any other MIDI device, and you get a plethora of other outputs on the back.
You get so much more with the UMC204HD than the 2i2 for half the price. Buy this. Focusrite is bad.
I bought this unit after my trusty 10year old unit finally gave in. I have used Behringer equipment for many years and I love the build quality of their products. The UM2 is a simple interface with two inputs, one mic/line and a line for number 2 input. There are individual gain controls for each Channel and a master control. I am always impressed by the sound quality of Behringers pre amps and this unit has bags of gain on each channel. I have given it 5 stars for ease of use be a use it is so simple. However I had problems getting my IMac to recognise the interface. After a few frustrating hours I had to set it as a Aggregate device in midi and audio settings and it works perfectly. I think this is the only problem that you co7ld have with the unit.
I have used a Motu 896 and 8pre for many years and have been very happy with the quality of recording. However, I have just started working on a new project which required me to put together a mobile set-up for some live recording. I would have used the Motu 8pre for this, but my new laptop doesn’t have firewire, so I needed an audio interface with USB connection. After reading many reviews I decided to go for the Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820. For a relatively low price, it offered the same 8 input channels and phantom power supply as I was used to. I was very pleased with the result – easy to set up and nice clean recordings. It also seems to be well built, so I just hope it lasts as well as the Motus.
Brilliantly put together beginner friendly product. Way better than scartlet products
I simply liked this Behringer UMC204HD.
It sounds fantastic.
Very well made.
Lots of possibilities…
Have had mine for two years now. Still works. Idk what to say, get it?
I use this for tracking away from the studio. Good quality. Might buy the 8 input version to replace what I currently use.
If you want a really flexible sound card as a musician you cant beat these for value for monetary
Great sound, flexibility and build quality. USB power very useful. Recommended.
Excellent interface for music composition/pc applications at a very reasonable price. Plenty of inputs. Great design, sturdy and well built.
A great interface. I used to own a Focusrite interface but after upgrading my laptop I had to switch to USB. I saw this and to be honest I’ve never really rated Behringer stuff, but at the time this was in my price bracket. I purchased this after reading the reviews, and they are not wrong!
This is a great interface. The sound quality is amazing. It’s literally plugin and boom works straight away. I use it with Logic X and it really has blown me away.
A great piece of equipment, for anyone looking at home recording on a budget.
I had to replace my old external asio compatible audio adapter as there were no longer any drivers for the latest version of windows available. I decided to give this one a try and I am not dissapointed. It does exactly what you expect it to do, and even though it is not expensive, it is really well built. The knobs and buttons feel solid and good quality. Sound quality is excellent for the price and it was easy to install the drivers.
This adapter is asio compatible with very low latency. Just wat I needed. Highly recommended when you want to record directly to your PC (which what I got it for). Works very well with Audacity audio recording software (free) and Podium.
Using it as my primary soundcard for my e-Drums. Sending both MIDI signal and audio from the drum brain, so that I can both use the e-Drums original soundbanks and a cool VST on my laptop. Mixing between those with a single dial button on the soundcard.
Set aside what prejudices and assumptions you have about Behringer. Indeed, they spoiled their reputation with some products, but they seem to be also learning from mistakes. The UMC204HD is one of the best value for the money on the market. I read a couple of audiophile forums with very accurate tests on this device before buying it – and all the positive and negative outcomes are valid.
+ The device has a really decent performance with the Midas-built preamps on the inputs
+ Build quality and sturdiness is perfect
+ Number of inputs and outputs just great
+ Number of outputs (amped and monitor) are also decent – with clean and clear sound
+ mono/stereo push button for headphones monitor is super useful
+ A/B monitoring and mixing controllers are great
+ Seamless usage both in Windows (I used it with Windows 8) and Linux (in Ubuntu it was simply plug-and-play)
– headphone monitor output though starts to produce a slight noise if you tune volume up above 50% (the other monitor outputs and speaker outputs DO NOT produce such a noise)
Downloaded drivers from official website, install them on my Windows 10 x64 laptop and it has been working without a problem since. I compared it with Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd edition audio interface and it(UMC204HD) has just a little more noise (I would say 2-5% more), just enought so you can hear the difference. On the other hand it is a little cheaper than Focusrite interface (35% cheaper in my case) and it has more options and outputs.
So for me (as an amateur/beginner) it is more than enough. Very satisfied.
You don’t get any software with the package, but you can download it (Audacity and some plugins) free from Behringer website.
Does what it says on the tin fantastic value used for recording skype play back on my pc good all rounder great price. No need to buy the more expensive brands
As a semi professional musician without a lot of money to throw at an audio interface I spent hours looking for the right interface for the job.
And thus came up with the Behringer UMC204.
And it does an excellent job, the only slight downside is the fact that the preamps are a little loud, but for the money you can’t really complain.
I’d certainly recommend anyone who was looking to do some recording work on a budget to buy this audio interface.
Neat. With lots of facilities including phantom power, monitoring control, MIDI i/o and excellent quality Mike preamps. Annoying that on my iMac it has to be selected in settings every time I power up the computer.
Brilliant. Used with MacBook Pro. Works utterly seamlessly. Sound quality really is excellent.
I have had issues with audio interfaces in the past where, all of a sudden and for no reason, they just aren’t “on” or connected to the pc, or some other sort of frustration. I haven’t had an issue like that with this one. It seems bomb proof. Has phantom power. Great price. I can now just get on with stuff. Very happy with the purchase.
I don’t know because I’m a beginner in music.
But, I think it’s okay.
Good quality sound, works well with Linux and audacity. Very low latency and no usb issues.
I needed a better way to output a good strong audio stream out of a laptop into a PA system. I tried the laptops audio and a Creative USB Live24 that I had laying around but they were too noisy. I then found this and went for that as the price was so cheap.
Well its a cheap looking device but in a way that actually works to its advantage. It looks like you can just chuck it in a bag and not worry about it. A knockabout piece of kit.
You just plug it in and away it goes. The audio out from the phono and headphone is powerful and most importantly…clean! Sure its only 16/44 capable but that covers most general audio outputs and it’s going through a PA so…
Suffice to say it did the job perfectly. A handy bit of kit.
A bit dubious when I bought this unit as it was about half the price of my old firewire Focusrite Pro14,my PC upgrade has no built in firewire anymore boohoo so had to upgrade this too. Was worried USB would be too slow.HaH! Sound quality is excellent, really brings up the low end that was missing before (using studio monitor speakers). It even slotted in and worked before I had chance to download the drivers. There is no disc with this unit, cables, plugs,or adaptors and the box manual is so very brief as to be useless. The rear of the unit uses 2 1/4 main outs.If your monitor speakers only has a single stereo input, then have to use the headphone output from the front.I don’t think it will make too much difference really, but I’m no expert. The stereo separation is excellent, gaming is much better too.Running Reaper at under 10ms latency with no problems at all.Very surprised and happy with this unit. But, for a few bob more, could have doubled the number of inputs, but really 2 is enough for home PC musicians. Both electric guitar and mic work fine, but haven’t tried the internal pre-amp for mic as yet.
I was using a ~Behringer mixer and also an AKAI EIE pro and this is superior to both of them, great pre amps give clarity to both voice and guitar. I was getting slight hum on both my other devices but nothing from this, silent with nothing but the Guitar shining through. Well pleased with it and the build qulaity is excellent.
Use it for my Mic that I use for Discord, gaming, Electric Drum Kit and YouTube recording. Easy to install, easy to use and works wonderfully.
Great sound quality, intuitive interface and great driver support and PnP nature
I bought this interface to work with my MacBook Pro after my old M audio interface was made obsolete by the updates on Mac operating system.
So far I’ve really enjoyed using it, and as much as one can enjoy using an audio interface. No problems and the sound is great.
I would have liked 2 headphones jacks, but this is on the budget side so I’ll take what I got!
great value for home studio. Record two simultaneous channels.. record MIDI.. use it as an audio card to input your guitar for practice. Great stuff.
You have to be careful when plugging cables in and out, especially the usb on the computer, which shuts it down if you do it wrong. So you have to start all over again. Otherwise, the recording is excellent.
Great does everything I wanted it to do very pleased thank you
his is very good if your looking too record electric guitar you can fly all over the neck and it keeps up with you no latency you can plug ur amp in even better just plug ur guitar pedals with no amp as it has phantom power with that being said when it records its mono so it will come out on one side of headphones or speaker however just right click on recorded track and select convert to mono and it puts it right that is any thing with phantom power tho I realy enjoy this tried a lot of similar this dose what I was I wanted from it and more
Quality, functionality and I/O are truly excellent. I don’t find the pre-amps quiet enough to use with my old vintage 200 ohm Sony F-99A dynamic stereo microphone but it seems to pair reasonable well with my MXL 990 which itself isn’t particularly quiet. It is good for the price even though the pre-amps are shy of awesome.
I bought the Behringer UMC204HD for 65 GBP and have to be honest and say it is very seldom that I will buy something that far exceeds my expectations but this external sound-card/interface has. The free Tracktion 7 DAW is excellent and easy to master will a little effort. Tracktion support staff are also excellent. (FYI Tracktion 7 does not come with any sounds other than the standard sampler and uses 64bit VSTs which are not freely available for free, so here are four to get you started if your new Full Bucket FB-3300 synth, Podolski (u-he) synth, RePro (u-he) synth, Bitsonic.eu Keyzone Classic piano.) Buying the Tracktion Master Mix VST is something you should also consider.
I am using a Rode NT1000 mic and an old Alesis quadrasynth MIDI keyboard with the Behringer UMC204HD and the music quality is almost as good as from a $100,000 recording studio.
This is a great addition for my studio. I initially bought it for the purposes of recording vocal overdubs, but I now use it for a wide range of applications.
The Midas preamps are not the same preamps as you get in the high end Midas desks, but they do sound great, very clear, a little crisp, and really helps you articulate the sound.
My favourite feature is the pad switch, which I have yet to see on an interface at anywhere near this price.
I have yet to use the Midi inputs or the phantom power, but everything else has been a dream. The only issue I have had was one time the drivers failed to load, but once I restarted my computer, this problem went away. May sure you use the official UMC drivers from the Music Tribe website, as the ASIO4ALL drivers are simply not optimal for this device.
All in all, I definitely recommend this.
Perfect. Just what I needed for recording at home onto Mac using garageband.
This thing offers ridiculous value for money. It’s easily on par with its Focusrite equivalent for less than half the money – I think it even offers more output options. I was concerned that the build quality would be pretty poor but it’s actually really well put together and has a metal casing.
I just wish I’d gone for the 404 as this offers double the inputs for not much more money, but the 204 should be more than adequate for most home studio applications.
Buy it – you won’t be disappointed.
Bought this for use with my iPad to use live. Works pretty well for what I need. Has a few issues with having to use the volume control on the iPad instead of the unit itself, and can be a bit on the noisy side but not too bad. Seemed to work better when connected to a computer, much more control. For the price t’s pretty good especially if your looking for a multi out interface.
Servizio Amazon, inutile dirlo, sempre ineccepibile.
Great built quality, excellent sound and works perfectly on Linux via JACK without any setting up hassle, what else could I ask for 🙂
Item as described. Been working great for almost 5 months now with my AT2020 XLR microphone.
Great piece of kit. No issues with setup.Powered by usb. Worth the money.
Simply excellent product ,very clean sound and pre amps and very robust build qaulity – absolutely nothing to fault – worked straight out of the box on my latest mac upgrade in march 2018. As good as alternative makes at twice the prive. Superb !
Its quality is really good. I didn’t expect it that good compared to the price.
TL;DR: Gutes Produkt was den Zweck erfllt.
“1. Execute: “regedit”
2 .Locate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Power PowerSettings 54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00 5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-2158492d58ad
3. Change Attributes from 1 to 0.
4. Then, through the control panel – power – in the settings mode select power management processor. There will be an option disabling idle processor and high pitched noise immediately disappears. ”
Very nice interface. Works like a charm with Win10. I’d say this is better than my previous Scarlett 2i2:
– better monitoring options (mix adjust with direct monitoring), stereo/mono, monitoring output options
– no popping of speakers when computer powers on/off (2i2 had awful popping)
– sound quality is outstanding
When i unpacked the item I thought that it felt really good and solid. All of the parts felt solid and i was very impressed but I felt this was going to be the case as I have another Behringer item that I love. The sound from it is great. Its versitle and gives me plenty of options. Connection to my kit was painless and hooked up to my PC with ease. Recorded some great sounding demos with this on my first night of use.
I’m very pleased. I was considering a few different methods of recording better quality audio. I considered the Focusrite Scarlett-Solo Gen2 desktop audio interface and the TASCAM DR-60DmkII DSLR Audio Recorder before finally purchasing this one.
I am pretty new to the audio recording scene so I based my decision on a lot of online reviews and also on my use-case. I know that I will mostly be shooting at home, near my computer desk, so there’s no real advantage to paying more than $100 more for a portable recorder that I’ll have to keep charged all the time. And in regards to the Focusrite, the differences between the two are minimal but the reviews I watched online seemed to recommend the Behringer more.
The amps are very high quality and produce little noise in the signal. Each channel can be mixed and padded individually. There is real-time headphone monitoring – the output is 3/4 inch but I attached a adapter to mine to downsize to 3.5 mm. You can also output audio from your pc through these to your studio monitors or professional headphones. It works as a DAC for your headphones.
The build quality is awesome. It does not feel cheap at all. The body is metal and the knobs are plastic but firmly head in place with a pleasing amount of resistance. The aesthetics are timeless and will look amazing sitting on your desk.
Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and unless something catastrophic happens, Behringer has earned a new customer for life.
This audio interface exceeded my expectations, a very good product for someone looking to start a small home based studio.
The USB cable is hidden in one of the styrofoam things. Saying this right off the bat because I didn’t notice until I was about to discard them
This is a really good audio interface for the price, it has zero noise, smooth knobs with some resistance to allow precision and to prevent accidentally un-adjusting them, and a nice matte metal chassis. Each input is for one ear (left and right), and the mono/stereo button is only for the headphones; I just use a channel mixer to make the audio centered, but if that’s not an option you’ll need a second microphone/input source or a splitter cable
Apparently a driver for this exists but I didn’t need one for some reason and it didn’t came with one (windows 10)
everything I read about this is true ! Great piece of kit. I really don’t think you could do any better for the price. My recordings sound amazing with a good mic. TOP MARKS Behringer !!
Amazing sound card guys honestly I’m happy. It sounds better than the focusrite sound card.It does not feel cheap it feel heavy. Sound quality is impressive. Amazon doesn’t disappoint I received it 1 day shipping.
Bought this to replace the Presonus unit I had to return. Very easy to set up and good sound quality with my condenser mic and DAW.
Excellent rapport qualit-prix.
I am using the DAC section of the Behringer 2X4 with a music server, Not as a recorder! It now functions as a preamp, with the built in capability of the DAC chip to be used as a volume control. My Flac files never sounded so good. Perhaps not as quiet as the best, but the music really comes alive through this device. Love it.
Really great interface..love it! it links up to the iMac with ease. No messing!
Works superbly, I use it with Cakewalk SONAR to record demos.
In the middle of recording an EP with this using Audacity. The quality is incredible. Using this with some Logitech Z623 speakers that sound amazing, but you could use monitors and it would probably sound better. On top of recording I am enjoying music listening on my computer a lot more.
Two problems I had that people should know about are that I could not get the Windows 7 to 10 codec to work, had to use the generic Windows codec(nicer anyways). Also, this will not work with USB 3.0, it is designed for USB 2.0, and works very well at that data rate.
Nice interface. Really quiet on noise and clear sound. The headphone preamp is nice and loud. Low Latency, in my case down to 3.6ms but even on 9.6ms is perfect for guitar playing with VST pug-in such as Helix Native, it just feels you are playing the hardware version. On registering the product, I was delighted to see the 3 YEARS Guarantee! It records the quietest nuances, noise free. GET ONE!
Consigliatissima
Coming from an RME interface which was worth 20 times of what this cost at the time, I have to say I was really surprised on how great it really was, I always thought Behringer was the bottom of the barrel company in terms of audio equipment but I took a chance with this sound card because of a recommendation and I’m really really happy with it, no latency issues whatsoever. Might look into getting more Behringer equipment in the future
Well what’s not to like….. 4 inputs, midi inputs, loadsa outputs, inserts, phantom power, 24 bit 192 kHz…… the list goes on! All this for about the price of a night out. I had an maudio FireWire one that cost 3 times as much and only had 2 inputs.
I run it thru a mac and it’s literally plug and play! No firmware or divers needed. Find it in logic or whatever ur using and that’s it.
Build quality is extremely sturdy and the only real thing I think they coulda put on it is an on off button. To turn it off u need to pull out power cord.
These are hard to get as when places get them they sell out quick. I bought from gear4music as they said they had them in stock. Turns out they didn’t and I would receive one till Oct! But thru emails back n forth they assured my a few days to a week. I then phoned then and was told nothing till Oct. I then seen thru Amazon that inta audio was selling them. Was a little dubious due to gear4music not having them so phoned inta audio and low and behold they had them and I would receive it in a day or 2!
So all in all an amazing bit of kit and a great company that sold them too.

Very happy with this purchase. Low noise, great quality. Have recorded line-level synths with it and used the headphone out + rca out to an amp. Have not tried the XLR mike inputs yet.
The Midi IN/OUT is perfect (not like those cheap 10$ usb cables).
I run it in low-latency mode (not ultra-low) at around 5ms and get no glitches.
Exactly what I wanted and expected. The quality is absolutely perfect. A robust and highly competent piece of kit.
Fantastic piece of kit, it has done exactly what i wanted it for. would recommend..
I bought the Behringr UCM204HD to use for recording guitar either onto my PC or, preferably, my Android TV box. First impressions are very good. The unit is very well made. It says “built like a tank” on the box which may be stretching the point a bit but, it is well constructed. The box is metal which is good, the controls operate smoothly and precisely, and the sockets seem to be of a good quality.
So far so good. Next I went to the support site and downloaded the correct driver for my Windows 10 PC. It installed and found the box with no problem. More good news! Now I wanted to get the free copy of the Tracktion DAW (Digital Audio Workstation, the recording studio software) that is included in the deal. You will have to wait for this! Firstly you must register your product which is a little cumbersome. You are asked to provide proof of purchase along with the usual serial number. This is a bit of a faff! I had to scan and save the invoice as a PDF file then upload it into the registration form. Then you have to wait for a confirmation email before you can get hold of the software. I still am, three days later! I wait with baited breath.
This is not really a complaint as I can understand the company not wanting to give stuff to anyone for free. Just a bit of a pain really. Still, onward and upward. There is always a solution to these things. In this case, go and get Reaper from the appropriate site. This is an excellent DAW and is widely recognised as a great alternative to the vastly more expensive options. You can use it for free without restrictions but I would suggest paying the $60.00 fee to support the development. When installed, this software found the box and worked perfectly. Very cool!
Now, onto the Android part of the project. This is a sort of good news, bad news kind of deal! First some technical background stuff for those that might not know. Android is a very good but also extremely frustrating operating system. It can do many things but not always on every device. Every manufacturer has its own way of doing things and their own version of the software on each device which makes the hardware support very patchy. Since Android 5.0 Lollipop, there has been support for USB audio. This means that you should be able to plug any USB audio device into the OTG port on your Android device and it should output the sound through that. Guess what; on the box I wanted to use it didn’t work!
On my Nexus 6P phone it most certainly does, brilliantly. I have tried several solutions to get the thing to make a noise on the TV box with no success so far. Using USB Audio Player from Audio Extream I managed to get some sound but it was distorted and the playback speed was way too fast. I will be contacting them as I would like to use their Audio Evolution DAW so it would be good if I can get it to actually work. Watch this space. I suspect that I will need to try another TV box. Shame!
So, the UMC204HD itself appears to be a great little interface. It gives you various in and out connection options and works very well. The support from Behringer is OK but could be refined a bit perhaps. There are comments all over the internet that Behringer are not to be spoken of in the same terms as Focusrite, Presonus, or Steinberg. Well, I have to say that so far I have no issues with the box and you most definitely get first class value for money.
I still haven’t tried the MIDI function but would imagine that it will be fine. The 192Khz decoding ability is a great addition and is better than many more expensive options. This is really an outboard USB sound card so can be used to connect your digital devices (phone, laptop, tablet, e.t.c) to you speakers. This can be done in a variety of ways. It has phono/RCA outputs on the back so you could plug it into your hi fi amp, for example. I have tried this and it sounds very good through my Rega system. Compared to a 90.00 stand-alone USB DAC (Dragonfly), I couldn’t really hear any difference when playing FLAC files via my phone. I know that this is not what it is designed to do, but it can so why not try it?
I would recommend that you give one of these a go if you are in the market for a well-equipped, sensibly priced audio interface. Just don’t get upset if it won’t make sounds from you Android stuff.
Works great. Installation is easy in windows 10. No suprises. For the moment I use it as a sound card and midi connection. Didn’t use the audio input yet.
Good AI, had no problems. Easy to set up and use
Great interface. Easy to use, has the bonus of a midi interface too. Hooks up to Mac with no problem, Tracktion software (T6) is also very intuitive and very good.
Can’t praise this highly enough as I edit a lot of audio
