Struttura resistente, in metallo (quindi no plastica).

    Top Leistung, Preis unverschlagbar!

Original unit was a complete let down when it arrived. First, the driver just hit the doorbell and was driving away as I got to the door to collect the parcel – he didn’t even know if we were in!
Second, the box was damaged, the tape was coming off the box, which was to all intents open!
I have a 2 channel Behringer U-PHORIA UMC204HD already and it is an awesome audio and MIDI interface.
I wanted the 4 channel Behringer U-PHORIA UMC404HD as my humble musical exploits are starting to expand a little more now – AND – after searching for many years, I have been lucky enough to buy an old school 80’s Yamaha Synth again, that I had back then.
Returned as defective – BUT – now ordered a replacement which works exactly as expected. Compliments to the delivery driver too for taking care of my item. As he says, it is how they are trained, and to treat parcels as they would want theirs treated.
I’ve tested the new interface now – all 4 audio channels work exactly as expected. The MIDI IN and MIDI OUT channels work perfectly too.

Posso mixarle tranquillamente. Nessuna latenza n fruscii di fondo. Meglio di altre pi conosciute marche.

I bought this to replace a small USB to dual 3.5mm jack interface, which I’d found to be unreliable in use. The RCA connectors are a far more rugged solution and allow use of attenuators on the audio inputs to prevent overload from a ‘loud’ (high level) source, such as my need to connect between an audio mixer/amp and a PC running a hybrid Zoom meeting. It enables clear, dual direction audio between in hall and remote audiences.

It is also very useful that this device has the ability to use a pair of 3.5 mm jack headphones as a diagnostic aid within the signal chain. It gives a mix of both input and output signals, but is useful to confirm sources during set up. I have no need of the TOSLINK connection, so that is unproven, but I’m sure it will work.

Much better than smaller USB interfaces

Problem, MacBook Pro’s of a certain age (mine is early 2015) have a headphone socket but no line in. On earlier models the headphone socket doubled as a line in and it does not have an optical drive. So, how do I rip my CD collection so I can listen to them on other devices?

Enter this little box of connections. Very well priced and certainly cheaper than a decent external optical drive and less likely to become redundant or fail.

Connected it to my MacBook, plugged in my CD player, downloaded and installed Audacity and MusicBrainz Picard and off I went.

Depending on the software you use, Audacity is certainly easy, you can play an entire CD and then split it for processing, or do it track by track. You can plug headphones into the box to monitor tracks or just listen while they are copied onto the PC.

Of course, if vinyl is your audio medium of choice, you can connect a phono deck via an amp and have a digital collection of your collection.

Same goes if you have audio cassettes, just use a stereo audio jack to RCA adapter and off you go, whether hi-fi deck or Walkman.

Using this Behringer USB audio interface is easy, any complexity is in the software used to process the tracks on the computer.

I now have a rapidly increasing library of audio tracks that I can play on other devices for very little outlay and have the ability to digitise my vinyl and couple of remaining cassettes.

Purchased this to replace my Roland QuadCapture which had given up the ghost. I do a lot of voice over work, and also record and produce a weekly radio show, so I wanted something not too expensive, but with more inputs/outputs than the previous interface, so I didn’t have to keep unplugging equipment/changing settings.

The Behringer works like an absolute dream. They could charge twice the price and I’d still be recommending it. The signal is clean throughout, and I really like the ability to instantly switch listening back to the mix/monitor in mono/stereo, which is essential in many instances. Phantom power where necessary and handy “pad” feature on each input to help control incoming amplitude if needed. No drivers to install, it’s plug and play.

I haven’t had a single issue with it, since purchase. It sits happily on my desk, atop the DBX286s, and generally has made my workflow much more effective, since switching.

For the price, a definite 6 out of 5 stars – it’s great!

Quality upgrade without upgrading on Price

Unbelievable difference compared to using 3.5mm headphone jack. Can’t quite believe how cheap this is to start with, but I picked it up with a further 40% off o a daily deal. Not perfect to have another small box on your desk, but the difference in sound quality when fed to an external amp or powered monitor speakers is well worth the money. Takes USB from a laptop, also has a second input channel that you can use for 3.5mm from a second device. Standard RCA output plugs into a Hi-Fi amp orstraight into a set of Powered Monitors, and you get such a fabulous upgrade to all your sound. Can easily replace dedicated kit by using powered speakers, or use your trusty hifi kit to get full on sound from your gaming or music. Can’t rate it highly enough, tbh. Only (very slight) negative would be the volume knob, which is very small and 60% recessed, but once set you just use the amp volume and your computer audio settings to control output.

Had a mental block to audio interfaces. Previously I’d been using an old reel-to-reel for my musical doodles, and merely the language of the new music technology was deterring moving on. But this UMC204HD is a revelation. Superb sound and minimal hassle to set up. Refreshing to the point of Utopian is that the mic inputs will take either an XLR plug (which some microphones have) or quarter inch mono jack. Even getting and installing the drivers was free of the usual quagmire of website illogic and grappling with the tech-speak of You Tube tutorials.

This works on both my Windows 10 and Windows 7 PC’s, but needs different drivers for each, though this is laid out pretty clearly on the Beyringer.com website where you download from. However, legend has it that you should avoid driver version 4-59-00, which some people have reported buggish. For Win 7 I therefore opted for version 4-38-00. This works fine on Win 7, but only if you’ve got the Win 7 updates issued since Microsoft support supposedly ceased in Jan 2020 – in fact support hasn’t entirely ceased, and Microsoft, notwithstanding their imperialistic profiteering brains, are still issuing ‘crucial’ updates. For Windows 10 I used driver version 5.12.0, which works fine but for which you have to delve a bit on the Behringer.com site.

The other mental block to overcome concerns the need for a DAW – Digital Audio Workstation, which has to be installed on your computer. Often these cost a lot, but there are some good free versions – including Cakewalk which I opted for. The process of getting it is pretty fraught, and involves going through a recalcitrant site called Bandlab Assistant. But it works, and can do all sorts of stuff if you can get past the sheer terror of the Cakewalk work-screen. For instance, you can record a vocal/acoustic guitar track, then put on an electric guitar while the original track is coming through your headphones. Or you can add any number of other instruments. If you want to put the result on CD, you just do file/export/audio and save it as a standard wav file.

All this for 80. 170 including the two Marantz MPM1000 microphones I got from Amazon. (As far as I can see, you can’t do true stereo without two mics.)

Hope this is helpful to anyone else with mental blocks to this stuff.

Works a treat plugged in downloaded drivers and omg the sound quality and clarity was great, I only use it to stream DJ sets and radio shows so don’t use multi imput but does give that edge when streaming and broadcasting. The only reason I marked sturdiness down was that the headphone volume control knob was so loose it just dropped off but I’ve sorted that myself

I’m sure there are much better pre-amps out there, but for this money – I don’t think so. I use it all the time for microphones and guitars. The limiter is a bit “limited” – all puns intended, but again – it works! Let’s be honest, set the mode, adjust the input gain and that’s it. Sounds fine, I’ve recorded loads with it, and it’s on a par with my other main interface.

Yes I’m sure there are “purists” out there, who will compare it to much more expensive units, and yes they probably are better…..BUT, this is cheap, it works, it’s well built – it does everything I need it to do, sounds fine – no positive or negative colouration to the source that I can hear, and works in a number of different applications.

No issue running it with Logic audio, especially in an aggregate. It just does the job, and it does it well. You don’t have to use the limiter, but it’s there as a failsafe – and I welcome that. A very useful tool, and something I use daily now. They’re good value for money, they work well, and are reliable – what more do you want?

I chose the U-PHORIA UMC204HD specifically for the extra two audio outputs and the midi.

It has a logical, well layed out design, good sound quality and low latency on Windows with the downloadable ASIO driver. Was a close decision between this and the UMC404HD, but I decided I didn’t need to record more that two inputs at once.

  44. HershelPinckney says:

Basically does what it says it will do with only one slight oddity. The headphone monitoring is controlled by a switch labelled on/off. However it seems to be always monitoring the output and when the switch is moved to the “on” position also monitors the input signal mixed with the output.

Its sampling is selectable to 32K, 44.1K and 48K @16bit although the instructions don’t explain how (MacOS; use Audio Midi Settings and Windows; Audio Settings-> advanced device settings)

It uses the TI chipset and noise and latency seemed commendably low. Obviously the I/O is only RCA unbalanced which limits things. But if you want anything better you will have to pay considerably more. However, if you use it with a mixer with RCA Tape In/Out, the levels should be high enough to avoid any issues and you can then use the computer as a digital tape deck. This is my use case when working with mixers that don’t have built in USB ports.

Works great and sound output is very clean. Could use a proper level meter display, an ON/OFF switch, an L+R channel combine button, and separate +48V phantom power switches per xlr jack. Most of that could be added without too much added cost to BOM. One thing that could easily have been included would have been a 1/4″ to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter.

So I had the UMC202 before which gave me two input channels – one XLR and one 1/4″ jack but outgrew that as I added more instruments I wanted to record.

This unit comes with 4x XLR ports (which allow normal 1/4″ jack inputs too), switches to dedicate that port to instrument or mic, individual gain control, external monitor, clip monitor, and much more. On the rear it has multiple output options for transfer sound direct to mixing tables, stereo equipment or computer.

For my setup, I use two ports for dedicate microphone and the other two dedicate for instruments (keyboard and electro-accoustic ukulele), and can record all 4 simultaneously. It connects from the included USB lead and has built in 48v phantom power. This can also be powered using their supplied power cable so you don’t need USB to run it either.

On my setup, I use an amp as an external monitor run off the headphone jack on the right hand side for playback and this unit outputs in full stereo. It was instantly recognisable in GarageBand on a MacMini without any drivers needed.

    Pros:
    – is a high definition sound for sure.
    – has plenty of outputs
    – has lots of inputs
    – loads of controls with proper dials to set
    – easy to use out of the box
    – works standalone as well as using dedicated pc setup
    – size is great and fits lovely on my desk
    – never overheats
    – solid construction with metal hard-shell and plastic front, all very strong, with sturdy dials

    Cons:
    – being ultra picky they don’t have any dial markers on the body eg 1-10, but you do have a white marker for the dial itself so you can see where you are at…
    – not a lot else really! I’m scraping the barrel here because it really is well made.

I highly recommend this as it performs even better than the UMD202 which is also a really nice purchase. Considering the price point, it easily punches above it’s weight and for what you get I think this would suit anyone from a weekend jammer all the way to a dedicated YouTuber needing multiple microphones and audio output. So versatile. Great value for money.

Wow. Just wow. Punches well above it's weight.

Wow. Just wow. Punches well above it's weight.

he only shortcoming was not having line inputs on the rear panel. I use this interface with a mixer and didn’t want permanent cables from the consul plugged into the front of the Behringer. A workaround for this was inputting the mixer outputs via the inserts. This keeps my studio nice and neat and anything plugged into the mixer now routes through Behringer U-Phoria – no problem!
All in all a great unit, well made, great value!

Probably the cheapest audio interface with this many features. I have connected it to my laptop through a usb cable, to my headphones, to two of these speakers: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/M-Audio-BX8-D3-Professional-built/dp/B01J66ZEE0
and also to my piano (kawai ES-110 B) through the midi ports and the IN ports. Works as expected, I have no complaints whatsoever.

There’s a bit of confusion around Behringer audio interfaces. I can confirm this UMC204HD is a proper ASIO device (not ASIO4ALL) and has dedicated drivers for Windows and Mac. I am running Windows 10, and have had this recording stereo from my keyboard (SH-01) into Cakewalk by Bandlab via the ASIO no problems. Just remember to disable your laptop’s soundcard ASIO (RealtekHD in my case) in the DAW. Also make sure that the sample rate in the DAW matches the setting in the ASIO control panel. If you have any problems I’d recommend the Sweetwater website, full of useful techy stuff and tutorials, including for this device. I was going to get the Focusrite 2i2 or the SSL2, but for the money I saved I popped a QX1204USB mixer in the shopping basket as well!
