This 18V Strimmer by BLACK+DECKER is a powerful, ergonomically designed string trimmer that is ideal for trimming excess grass growing around a wall, fence, flowerbed or pathway and gives lawn borders a neat and tidy finish.

Really happy with this purchase. Fully charged it on arrival, have cut a decent size garden and used this on the grass borders around 4 times since and it is still going strong from the original charge.
Was easy enough to put together, does not feel to heavy and is easy to manipulate around the edges by the fencing with a jog wheel that helps maintain the right distance. When the wire breaks it automatically re-spools. So much superior to the cheaper models. Well worth the money.
I need a battery strimmer to cut the grass paths around my allotment. This is my third strimmer. First one (another make) packed up after 4 years, so I ordered a new one (again another make) which was faulty, I returned it the day after I had received it. This strimmer is excellent. It handles really well with efficient cutting and the battery lasts longer than either of my previous strimmers allowing me to complete the whole job without having to charge the battery up before I’ve finished.

Prompt delivery. Very pleased with this strimmer. No flex to get limit use. Battery included, charger included. And I didn’t need to assemble it! Just one screw to fit the shield, simple. I needed a light easy to use strimmer, being a small elderly female. I used it to strim my bank and wall at the side of my lane, a challenge for a small strimmer but it managed it no problem and the battery held out no problem for quite an extensive job. Mostly it’s used to keep my large garden in check, it’s perfect. Very pleased with it.

This strimmer is easy to use as it is light and powerful. A superb replacement for my previous electric plug in strimmer. The plastic cord is strong and cuts without breaking on the fence posts around my garden.

Got it to replace a B and D electric mains, but its not as powerful which leaves me a bit disappointed. Un outil autonome trs maniable et pas fatiguant utiliser. De la mme gamme j’ai les 2 tailles haies et la trononneuse qui me donne toutes satisfactions et utilisent les mmes batteries.
Sehr gutes und effektives Gartengert. Wird fr diesen Preis leider ohne Akku geliefert. Fr gro gewachsene Menschen ist der Stiel etwas zu kurz, arbeitet sich aber trotzdem noch gut.
Wer schon Akku Gerte dieser Firma hat ist mit diesem Gert gut beraten.
It is a very good strimmer and definitely does the job. I just wish that the battery lasted a little bit longer especially on turbo mode.
We abound a field with very long grasses, so my husband uses this to stop the weeds coming into the garden. If he is happy then so am I!
Trimmer funktioniert einwandfrei. Neben der Graskante kann man auch ohne Probleme grere Unkruter problemlos abschneiden. Akku hlt auch sehr lange. Wrde ich wieder kaufen.

Da ich einen Akkuschrauber von Black & Decker mit 18V habe erweiterte ich mein Akkusortiment um einen Freischneider. Da ich mit diesem Akkufreischneider nur “spielen” mchte und keine Flchen mhen brauch dachte ich mir: “Da kannst du nix falsch machen mit den nur 18V.”
Mitlerweile wei ich sogar das mit diesem 18V Akkufreischneider nicht nur gespielt werden kann! Er hat mich mehr als positiv berrascht!
Natrlich ist es kein Benziner aber der Akku hlt erstaunlich lange!
Flchen von 50m sind locker zu trimmen mit nur einem Akku, auch wenn das Gra schon hher gewachsen ist (so 30cm).
Er liegt auch wirklich gut in der Hand, obwohl ich 1,85m gro bin brauch ich mich beim Mhen nicht zu bcken.
Ich kann diesen Trimmer nur weiterempfehlen!

The only problem i had when doing my garden it didn’t cut through tough weeds but other than that it’s perfect for all the cutting tasks to do with lawns and weeds. The strimmer comes with a charger and you simply click the battery into place in the charger. It’s very powerful and fast cutting, the strimmer guard has a slope on the left hand side for faster cutting. You can easily convert it from strimmer to lawn edger by pulling the top plastic part and twisting it around. The battery lasts forever and always had enough charge for what i needed to get done. Its also very light weight and easily carried up to a staired garden which i have with tricky stairs to navigate.

Lightweight easy to use a massive improvement on my old bosch one. The auto feeder is good but will have to see how long the line lasts.

Io avevo gi due batterie in dotazione prese con il trapano e devo dire che con la carica piena di due batterie riesco a pulire un giardino di medie dimensioni!! molto leggero e non molto rumoroso…Consigliato!!
I use this at my allotment, takr me two batteries for about 1hrs cutting. Leaves a fairly decent cut but its not a formal garden. I wouldnt use this for anything large, the hand grip is tiresome and bulky. It does however automatically release the right amount of cord and is very light. Its just fair week for a strimme
Like the strimmer, however, find the presence of a wheel adversely affects the use of it..Can’t get a decent edge on my lawn as the wheel gets in the way and doesn’t allow close contact with the grass…just can’t see the point of the wheel! Couldn’t return the strimmer as I’d used it!
This seems to work well, doing the edges needs a bit of practice but after that it can make a good job. Cable seems to last OK. A little bit heavier than my old cable one so as an older lady I cannot use it for too long but that is better than managing a cable. Battery has not needed charging yet after 3 sessions. Bought on special offer so I’m pleased overall
A lot quieter than previous strimmers I’ve had. As a recently widowed 66year old I found the guard difficult to connect without a great deal of effort! Having said that I’m more than happy with it.
I bought this to replace a Flymo which packed up after a month. There’s only one battery, but it has enough energy to strim round both my and my neighbours gardens. You just have to remember to remove the battery after use and recharge it. You can’t overcharge it, so I charge it after each use. The line is self feeding, and so far this has worked well, and I haven’t had to replace the cartridge yet.
So far as cutting is concerned it is just as good as my previous corded strimmer.
E’ molto leggero, tuttavia la mancanza di un cinghiaggio nella confezione per la tracolla o per fissarlo alle spalle dopo un bel po’ fa stancare anche perch la batteria dura abbastanza.
Ovviamente per gli steli un po’ pi spessi non va bene ma per l’erba ok.
Comunque sono soddisfatto, per la manutenzione del mio giardino va bene.
Great strimmer, so much better than the old ones, easy to use and holds its charge well….heavy strimming is ok for about 15-20 mins before the battery winds down. Charges very quickly with a useful blinking indicator light that goes constant when fully charged. Easy to connect the battery to and from the handle. Can hose off the grass and debris off the bottom without worry about the electrical bit. Really pleased with this tool. 5 stars overall, knocked one off for manoeuvring as the upside down position for edging
is a little tricky but I use edging shears anyway.
This is substantial piece of kit suggesting durability and reliability. We used it to mow down an area of wild flowers that had finished, mixed with grasses. The strimmer handled this well, providing you don’t give it too much to cut at a time. I did need to use shears on some tougher patches , then finish off with the strimmer to get a even cut. I haven’t used it a lot and the battery has lasted as long as needed. There is some vibration but not too noisy. Good product.
My strimmer arrived today, so it hasn’t exactly stood the test of time yet, but I am confident that it will be around for a long time to come.
This is a well made, quality item. Being mostly made out of hard plastic, I don’t think it’s likely to stand up to a lot of hard use or abuse, so it’s not really much good for a professional, but for the rest of us mortals it’s as good as they come.
I’m an engineer by profession, so I know a good product when I see one.
This is obviously old stock, making way for a new product, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t any good. It just means that you will be getting an absolute bargain at close to half price.

Super pratique dans un jardin loign, j’utilise 3 batteries que j’ai avec visseuse et perceuse.
Consomme trs peu, je n’ai a utilis qu’une batterie la fois mais c’est conomique lorsque l’on a tous les accessoires en 18v
Je recommande aussi pour sa lgret, en sachant que le manche est rglable.

Ist nun schon der 2. Trimmer, da der erste nach 3 Jahren defekt wurde und die Reparatur genau soviel wie ein Neuer gekostet htte. Naja, wenn er wieder 3 Jahre hlt (bei uns wird sehr viel und oft getrimmt), dann bin ich zufrieden und kauf mir halt wieder einen Neuen.
Die Trimmdauer ist wirklich sehr gut und mit 2 Akkus schaffe ich mehr als 1200m2. Das passt!
My old strimmer was getting quite ancient and finally gave up the ghost. I already have two B & D tools with the same rechargeable battery so I didn’t need another battery or charger. This made the price very affordable. My old strimmer was excellent for edging the lawns but the nylon cord broke far too many times. I tried all sorts of different cords but they still fractured at the hole in the spindle so one had to stop and rethread the cord too many times. This new one has a “fully automatic” reel which keeps the cutting cord at the correct length all the time. My first reaction on reading this was “Oh yes, I’ll catch you out!”. I have cut the lawn edges 6 or 7 times now and used the strimmer in it’s other mode to strim around trees , etc and the cord hasn’t broken once yet! I don’t know how the automatic feed works but it certainly does very well. I’ll have to take it to bits soon to find out!. A really great tool, very light and quiet to use.

Uses my drill 18v battery. Getting a hedge trimmer which also does. Does its job fine. Wheel a bit of a gimmick but does make it a bit easier to steer.
I just love this is battery and no wires as I had an electric one before and was often cutting through the cable. It charges up and lasts quite well. The first time I used it was this weekend on my daughters garden in a house she has just moved into and it is very overgrown so was a tough test. It cuts through great on all the long grass and thin weeds but the plastic cord that cuts everything got tangled up a few times in the rough weeds which is understandable as they were quite thick. Overall quite pleased with it.

Purchased this due already owning a B&D battery powered drill and decided to give it a punt as i already have 2 batterys so was cheaper to buy than alot of equivelant corded versions.
Seems to work as intended and runs fine on the 1.5ah batterys and has a few nice features my previous one didnt have.
Premetto che volevo uno strumento leggero e subito pronto all’uso e per questo motivo ho scartato tutti quelli con motore a benzina, principalmente per il peso e perch non giustificato per un giardino di 150 mq.
Ho scartato anche quelli a filo perch il taglio dei bordi non segue sempre un percorso regolare, come invece solitamente avviene per il tagliaerba (vedi bordi, piante, fiori, ecc..) e questo mi avrebbe costretto a spostare continuamente il filo di alimentazione.
Quindi l’unica opzione possibile rimasta quella di volgere lo sguardo verso i prodotti a batteria… e qui si apre un mondo di possibilit!
Partendo per dall’essere gi possessore di prodotti Black & Decker a batteria (batterie al litio da 18v) mi sono detto: “Perch comprare l’ennesimo prodotto e l’ennesima batteria diversa da tutte le altre ?” e quindi ho selezionato ed alla fine scelto questo modello, venduto in questo caso senza alcuna batteria (risparmio di oltre 50) conscio di poter utilizzare le mie.
Per il momento l’ho utilizzato per circa 1 ora (saltuariamente) con una batteria da 1.5AH originale e devo dire di non aver avuto alcun problema in termini di durata (nel senso che la batteria pur non essendo carica al massimo ha lavorato senza lasciarmi a piedi).
Parlando invece della qualit del taglio, devo confessare di essere rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso. Il taglio preciso (anche utilizzando la velocit 1, quella ECO per intenderci) anche in presenza di erba alta.
La larghezza del taglio pari a 28cm ed a parer mio un buon diametro di taglio.
L’uscita del filo automatica, quando di accorcia perch consumato, si ripristina automaticamente, anche se una volta ho dovuto aprire la spoletta e tirar fuori il cavo manualmente (operazione da 1 minuto).
Il taglia bordi arriva gi montato e pronto all’uso (basta attaccare la batteria e via…).
La rumorosit abbastanza contenuta e non troppo fastidiosa (almeno per me).
Per il momento sono super soddisfatto e mi auguro che duri per diversi anni.

Very versatile strimmer. Battery lasts long enough to work borders of a large garden. Very pleased it works to clear gaps in patio slabs, using the wheel.
Nice bit of kit. Only used once so far but worked perfectly. The wheel did not get in the way of edging against stone and wooden fences- as per a couple of reviews I read before buying. Cut the grass well. Auto feeder works perfectly so far. Light and easy to use. I’ve had cheap line fed strimmers before and vowed never to get another-but I’m glad i did ( so far). My most recent prior strimmer had the plastic blades. Admittedly sometimes they flew out which was frustrating…until the manufacturer must have been aware and upgraded the head unit ( which I had to replace after it broke). It would now retail at a similar price to the Black and Decker ( previous one being a cordless Bosch Art) but I would recommend this one over the Bosch. Happy strumming!
Bon rapport qualit/prix. Un rel plaisir d’avoir fait l’acquisition de cette dbroussailleuse. Lgre et maniable. Trs pratique pour faire les bordures droite. On ne m’arrte plus. Un plus avec la batterie que j’ai en double. Pendant que je me sert d’une, l’autre recharge. De plus, celles-ci s’adapte au outils black & decker.

Tolles Teil, habe es mit einem 1,5Ah Akku heute das erste mal ausprobiert, sehr handlich und leicht, hatte vorher einen Trimmer mit Kabel, ohne Kabel ist das super, Handgriff und Hhenverstellbare Stange sehr leicht zu bedienen, nichts wackelt, angenehm leise.
da un anno che lo uso e devo dire che fa il suo dovere riesco anche a tagliare qualche rametto di edera che arriva dal mio vicino. A casa avevo gi un avvitatore B&D con due batterie compatibili per il tagliabordi.
Easy to set up and get going. I got this because it works with my cordless drill batteries, used it once and so far so good. Plenty of run time for my garden.

Unbelievably light and easy to use, whilst I have a petrol strummer for larger jobs, this battery version actually tackles much more than I thought, good battery life and I find I use it now for most strumming as it is so easy to handle
J’ai achet ce produit parce que j’avais dj 2 batteries chez moi. Malheureusement a ne suffit pas pour faire le tour de mon terrain.
Convient donc de petites parcelles, environ 15min d’autonomie par batterie.
Der Rasentrimmer ist genau das, mit Schwerpunkt auf Rasen. Als Freischneider ist er gar nicht zu gebrauchen. Eine Brennessel, mit 4mm “Stammdurchmesser” ist ihm schon zu viel. Mit normalem Gras kommt er hingegen gut zurecht.
Ansonsten kann ich nur positives sagen. Er knnte etwas lnger sein, wobei man den Handgriff schrg stellen und das Gert auch bei ber 1,8m Krpergre, nutzen kann. Das Gewicht ist ok und die Standzeit meiner vorhandenen Akkus hat mich sogar richtig berrascht.
Nicht schlecht zur Rasenpflege, aber fr Gestrpp und dickstielige Pflanzen nicht geeignet.

buon rapporto qualit – prezzo e molto maneggevole e leggero
Er ist recht leicht im Hndling und schneidet das Gras und andere Grnteile von geringer strke sehr gut, obwohl er nur einen Faden besitzt. Bei mittlerer Strke der Grnteile muss man schon 2 mal drber gehen, was bei dem Gewicht (im Gegensatz zum Benziner) kein Problem ist. Greres Buschwerk kann man getrost vergessen. Das schaft er nicht auch wenn man 10 mal drber geht. Die Laufzeit konnte ich noch nicht ermitteln, da ich immer noch bei der ersten Akkuladung bin. Ich denke mal so in Richtung 1 Std. wird er schaffen mit 18V2Ah.
Also wenn es nur darum geht mal schnell fr 10 min irgendwo die Kanten zu schneiden oder Grnzeugs bis mittlerer Strke weg zu sensen, kann ich das Gert empfehlen.
Top Gert – leise, mobil und ausreichend stark, insbesonders fein, wenn man bereits Multievo Gerte hat und den gleichen Akku nutzen ka

Die Fadenspule hakte stndig, der Faden brach stndig. Erst du austauschen der Spule gegen eine, extra vorsorglich gekauften Spule konnte das Problem behoben werden; war wohl schon berlagert und sprde.
Fazit:
Der Trimmer macht was er soll, nur nicht so komfortabel und grndlich wie angepriesen.
Natrlich bin ich froh, dass der Faden jetzt immer perfekt sitzt und mht.
Vorteil Nr. 1: Der Akku hat keine lstige Leitung. Der 18V Akku schafft es nicht ganz alle Ecken auszumhen bevor er wieder leer ist – aber eine Pause schadet ja nie! Und ich trimme sehr viel inzwischen, z.B. einen 10 m langen weg neben dem Gemsebeet, wo ich meinen 42 cm breiten Mher schlecht hineinbekomme. Und das Gras stand da beim letzten Mal seehr hoch!
Vorteil Nr. 2 Wendig und noch relativ leicht, leise, (wenn ich da an den Krachmacher eines Nachbarn denke, der hat einen Benzintrimmer – und alles stinkt nach Tankstelle bis der mal luft!).
Vorteil Nr. 3: der Preis der Fadenspulen. Drei Stck zu 8,20 Euro hier bei Amazon(unter 8 euros am Prime day) ich habe fr den Bosch immer 6 Euros bezahlt fr eine Spule. (jetzt sah ich sie fr 12 Euro den Dreierpack, also auf Angebot warten!) Also wirklich gnstig!! (Und wer schon einmal die Florabest, Grizzly Plastikmesser benutzt hat, die sich verbiegen, dauernd brechen und abgefetzt werden und ersetzt werden mssen, die es auch in keinem Laden zu kaufen gibt. Der wei die Fadenspulen zu schtzen.)

Zum Handling: Und da liegen die Schwchen!! Ich bin nicht gro, aber ich frage mich, was diese Teleskopstange soll. Man wird nicht jnger und ich muss bei 1.63 dauernd gebckt stehen, kann den Rcken nicht durchstrecken. Weil die Teleskopstange nur ein paar Zentimeter ausfhrt. Habe ich die Korea-China-Version fr kleine Leute oder was? Vielleicht schreibt mal jemand ber seine Erfahrung damit!!
Ansonsten ist ein Akkutrimmer state of the art. Nicht immer Kabel rausnehmen mssen, hinter sich herziehen, Und ich habe andere Marken gesehen, von Bosch z.B., viel teurer und auch schwerer. Selbst ohne Akku.
Auerdem kann man den Trimmer auf den Rasenmheraufsatz (dieses Jahr 40 Euro) aufsetzen und erhlt so einen Mher fr ganz kleine enge Pfade und Ecken, so dass man ihn nicht heben muss (mit krummem Rcken!!). (gibt es auch als Ensemble zu kaufen, ist aber relativ teuer, da muss man bei einem Angebot zuschlagen)
Ich wrde das Gert wieder kaufen, weil ich auch eine Akkuheckenschere von 54V habe von B&D, super kraftvoll und in der Lnge gut fr lange und hohe Hecken (auch da die super Lsung gegen das kilometerweite Kabelziehen und wieder aufrollen. Und ich liebugele noch mit dem Akku Rasenmher von 54 V und da hat man dann schon die Akkus parat fr mehrere Gerte. Heute muss man sich fr eine Marke entscheiden, weil jeder Hersteller andere Akkustrken und Insellsungen anbieten. Es wird Zeit, dass eine Verpflichtung zur Komptabilitt der Akkus und Gerte untereinander eingefhrt wird. Mehr Verbraucherschutz tut Not.
P.S. Ich habe mir trotz gesalzenen Preises den Multi-Trimmer-Aufsatz gekauft. Ich bin blo begeistert. Da kann man mal auf die Schnelle ohne Kabel kleine Rasenstcke – oder, wie ich, meinen Parkplatz vor dem Garten mhen, ohne groen Rasenmher, ohne Kabel, all das musste ich sonst auf dem Schubkarren hin befrdern, Elektroanschluss aufschlieen etc, jetzt das Teil unter den Arm geklemmt . Und es ist viel leichter, als das Teil die ganze Zeit zu heben. Der Aufsatz ist wirklich robust. Kauft unbedingt den Rasenkantenschneider von B&D mit Aufsatz, das ist wahrscheinlich im Set billiger!
Bought this cheapie for quick strimming round the edges before mowing. I’m used to a petrol strimmer and was surprised how well it worked, and how long it lasted on a charge. Yes, it’s light, plastic, and feels fragile. But after four uses I haven’t wrecked it and it continues to do a good job. It’s easy to gauge where it’s going when edging and its lower power compared to petrol is an advantage since it is quite forgiving if I wander off line occasionally! And I’ve even attacked the banks (grassy that is) with surprisingly good results, and no wrapping round with long grass like old smokey. Bought a bulk supply of spools and will pick up another battery so I can do the whole garden in one go. My only quibble is the recharging time but the extra battery is quite cheap.
Produkt eignet sich gut in einem Kleingartern zum mhen der div. kleineren Grasflchen. Bei greren Grten mit entsprechend vielen oder sehr groen Grnflchen reicht die Akku-Laufzeit des mitgelieferten Akku’s nur bedingt.
Ansonsten gutes Gert fr schnelles Mhen kleiner Flchen wie Graswege, kleine grne Sitzflchen u.s.w.
Empfehlenswert fr solche Anwendungen.
Das Gert funktionert super. Der Akku hlt auch ganz gut durch. Allerdings muss man schon bei Stufe 2 bleiben denn bei Stufe 1 fehlt etwas Geschwindigkeit. Meine Frau kann das Gert bedienen im Gegensatz zum Benzinfreischneider. Auerdem knnen wir das Gert auch Sonntags nutzen da es nicht so laut ist. Schutzbrille nicht vergessen!

Wir habe auch einen Benzinfreischneider (IKRA) , aber das Ding ist fr normale Gartenaufgaben zu schwer und zu laut.
Die Akkulaufzeit des Freischneiders ist gut (nach 20 min. habe ich sowieso keine Lust mehr) und wegen des geringen Gewichts hat sich sogar meine Frau begeistert dazu entschlossen, damit zu arbeiten.

Good value, nice and easy to use, works well, only thing to dislike is the battery life isn’t the best, but if you have a few batteries spare like we do (for drills etc) then it’s not really an issue. It’s nice and lightweight, easy to use and means you’re not restricted by a cable
Mit dem 2,0Ah Akku komme ich nicht ganz rund ums Haus, aber die Ausdauer ist gut und die Leistung ist befriedigend, aber nur im Vergleich zu dem B&D 230Volt Gert.
Schade, dass es nur ein “Ein-Faden-Trimmer” ist, zwei Fden zum trimmen sind einfach effektiver, aber dafr berwiegt das gute Gefhl und der Komfort, kein Kabel hinter sich her ziehen zu mssen.
Fazit: Fr groe Grundstcke definitiv den 4,0Ah Akku (als Set) kaufen…Schnittleistung ist gut.

Das Gert ist leicht zu bedienen. Kanten lassen sich perfekt trimmen. Auch zur Unkrautentfernung auf Gehwegen hervorragend geeignet. Der Akku ist gut in seiner Leistung.
Ich habe mehrere Gerte verglichen und fand ein wirklich gutes Preis- Leistungsverhltnis.
Die Batterien sind untereinander austauschbar. Leicht zu bedienen und kein Schwergewicht.
Cons; Not nearly as powerful as even the cheapest petrol strimmers, a bit awkward to hold, trigger is not the most ergonomic, battery life is about 15 – 20 mins using my B&D 2.0ah drill battery. I have a few extra batteries so recharging & rotating is not a problem.
Summary: If I had a typical townhouse back garden that I regularly maintained, I’d buy this again. But strimming the edge of a half acre lawn would take forever, so it’s back to petrol for me. Still, it is handy for quick jobs here & there…

I was sceptical about a battery powered strimmer but so far so good. It does the job I need it to do.
Bought this as I already had battery packs. Used it to clear streamside overgrowth. On normal power the battery lasted very well and the strimmer coped well with the overgrowth as I lightly strimmed first and then did a second sweep. So far – very good.
Very good piece of gear, light and yet strong the only issue is that you need probably 3 battery units charged up if you are doing lots of strimming, as the charge does not last too long.
