I initially bought this after accidentally cutting through the cord on my Flymo (again) with the idea that I could whip this over my grass and keep it in trim just like I saw our gardener do when we had one for five minutes. My garden is kind of a lumpy slope with very few actually flat bits so the Flymo was ideal.
Anyway, I used this once for a full trim but it isn’t quite at the level of my (ex) gardener’s petrol version and proved to be fairly laborious work. However, it is brilliant for all the edging and awkward bits (such as the particularly hardy clumps that seem to grow by the legs of the trampoline). But best of all, it does an amazing job of removing the weeds that grow between the paving slabs and up the side of the driveway. Discovering this was truly a revelation. No more hacking away between slabs hating life, just whizz this beauty over and job done.
I’ve had it two years now and I’m onto the second coil of wire that it came supplied with. I’m hoping I’ll get one more summer before I have to buy more. The battery life is pretty decent. I can easily cover the front and back (grass edging and weeds) on a single charge. It takes a while to fully recharge but that’s fine by me.
If you got this far, well done. Your reward is my recommendation to buy this. It’s great – well made and still going strong after two summers of weed bashing.
Oh and I fixed the Flymo with some electric tape and tie wraps (again).
Good Price and great product. Trimming edge of lawn on one battery charge. i believe the battery can be used on other Blue Ridge cordless products also.
Lightweight and robust. However the battery takes far too long to charge
It was light and easy to use compared to my mains model. Spool could possibly have been a bit bigger. 4′ to 5′ refill won’t last very long.
The strimmer has many adjustment for length, cutting head angle and a wheel when used as an edge trimmer. Lightweight unlike my petrol driven equivalent so less tiring to use.
Definitely worth getting, especially if you have other Blue Ridge kit as the batterys are interchangeable.

Its quite lightweight. Had no trouble using it. Only downside wth cordless really us that you could do wth having 2 power packs. One isn’t enough for a long garden. Price was good and delivery was quick.
I use this for keeping my wife’s grave neat and tidy. Ideal for the job and lightweight.
Works well. The motor is enough for regular grass. If you let the grass too tall with some thicker bits you’d have to be a bit creative. But even with that, you’ll cover a 15x6m patch in a single charge. It seems well made and neat design touches. Good kit I think.

Bought this to replace a Flymo with a dead battery. it was cheaper than another Flymo or even a new or reconditioned Flymo battery. Fairly easy to assemble but changing from strim to edge is quite stiff. May loosen with age. Battery fits neatly. Build quality is plastic but OK for the money. I’ve only used it 2-3 times so can’t comment on longevity of the machine or battery. You need a summer’s use to really assess these things properly but so far it is doing the job pretty well.

I bought the Blue Ridge cordless grass trimmer primarily for grass edging in my garden. Having used it for that purpose I found it light, easy to use having the wheels to negotiate the edges. For my use as a edger it has been utilised twice on both my front and rear grass on one charge (probably manage at least one more time on both). Charging the battery took 5 hours as per instructions. Set up was easy as per instructions provided. Have not used it as a strimmer yet but I think that there would be a limit to the thickness of grass you could strim (I use a petrol strimmer in my job a a landscape gardener and that gives me a good gauge for its capabilities). That said, I’m very impressed with the tool and would recommend as an edger or for light strimming in the garden environment.
Easy to use, lightweight, convenient. Very good for edging. Highly recommend
No problems assembling it (screw in one screw) and it’s easy to adjust in length and from horizontal for strimming to vertical for edging. The line feed system seems to work without problems.
Haven’t run the battery down yet so I can’t say how long it lasts but it takes a long time to charge – maybe 6 hours. Best to keep it charged up for when you want to use it.

I am worried about spares as this is an odd brand, my dog ate the charger and I realised you can’t buy a new one or spare batteries ect. Meaning unfortunately this is a throwaway product after a few years (I managed to fix what remained of the charger)

Great trimmer, I bought this mainly from the reviews and especially on the fact that it is lightweight which it is. I charged the battery for several hours and got more than 30 min use out of it (which is what reviews stated) well it actually didn’t run out. The downside is that it is not the most comfortable as it could do with being a bit longer. I am 5ft5 ( female) and at its longest I was still bending a bit. So far it has cut well and I am sure it could go better as I get more used to using it.
Been cordless is a big bonus another reason for buying it . So I do recommend it.

Strimming at my allotment is so much easier. no worry that the string will break when hitting anything hard. This was always happening with my previous one. The battery is so easy to remove and reinsert. Very pleased.
