The Burg Wächter Elegance post box is manufactured from tough galvanised steel with a secure lock. An outward opening letter flap provides all-round weather protection to keep mail dry, whilst the specially designed narrow post slot provides extra security against post being removed. Mail is retrieved by unlocking the drop front style door. The post box has a stylish embossed design and benefits from a name plate window. Two keys and all fixings are supplied.

Delivery as promised. Simple to fit and really looks the part. Early days yet as far as waterproofing goes but there have been a few wet days since fitting and so far no water ingress.
Had a handyman to install as I don’t do drilling! But it seemed easy enough ! The quality is really good. It saved our front door and post from being ravaged by our dog! Good product .
Just what we wanted to avoid letters intercepted by our dog !

i highly recommend this post box, for the price, it does the job. Its easy to install as long as you have a drill or a sds drill. the quality of the box is great and does not seem to rust. would recommend you use your own screws and plugs for extra sturdiness but i do that with any products that are attached to the wall.
Really lovely unit and good price. Looks lovely up. However, I had a really small parcel delivered the other day (18cm x 10cm x 2.4cm) and the delivery person could only stick it in the opening as it got stuck there and wouldn’t go down. I purposely bought the front loader as I thought it would be more secure but I wish I had went for a top loader now. Lessen learned, now to research a top loader.
Fitted in about 20 mins and works fine, looks good and locks securely.

The quality is good enough, delivery and packing was good ! But I needed it on the inside of the Fence so had not one ray job to cut something out of the back! Recommend only for the outside fixtures !
This is neat and tidy and looks safe and is secure – as we have it on the post next to our front gate –
All good apart from the screws that fix it the wall. Really soft heads that screwdrivers chew up when pressure is applied and steel flat washers would help as the box will be harder to pull off the wall. My advice would be bin the screws that come with it and fit washers to give it some strength. Great box though
Just what was needed. It’s in a very sheltered place so don’t know how it would weather in an exposed site.
Brilliant product. Large enough for large envelopes. I put ten in two rows for all the flats. Everybody likes them and finds the lock very easy.
After purchasing a new front door with no letterbox..this was much needed…very easy to install….easy to open..great size and most importantly the postman approves it as easy to use…

I recently got a new front door and decided not to get a letterbox in it so therefore required a stand alone one. After reading the reviews for this I decided to give it a go due to the price. On first impression the box feels a little flimsy because it’s made out of thin sheet metal however after mounting it I can’t complain as it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It looks great next to my black front door, the letter symbol stamped into the front is a nice touch. I followed the advice of other reviewers and used my own fixings. The 2 top screw holes are a little bit fiddly to get to but not a major inconvenience. I can’t comment on the weatherproofing of it because it’s in a porch.
Pleased, mounted onto our wooden gate. Does the job, pleased.

Nice looking postbox. Easy to fit. Locks easily although the door doesn’t always open easily.
It’s not very weatherproof (we don’t have a porch cover so our postbox is not under cover) and we have had moist post after heavy rain. Happy to recommend this product.

Fixed externally to a gate with a two bar fitting kit bought online at same time.
Bought four countersunk head bolts from hardware shop (99p) in preference to threaded bar and nuts supplied with fitting kit to prevent internal obstruction of posted items.
My dog was recently let out of my garden by a delivery person so decided to ‘up my game’ on security.
I ordered this because I liked the look of it and also it had good reviews and a good price.
I was very impressed when it came. Its well made and will be waterproof and it was very easy to fit on the outside of my gate. Very happy with this purchase 🙂
Looks great, nice finish to the paint. Not waterproof. I didn’t use the grommets after reading other reviews. I silicone’ d the screw holes and also silicone’ d around the box to make it 100% waterproof. Very easy to mount on the wall. All in all a really good buy for the price, even the Postie liked it!
The box works. It is smart and weatherproof with a big slot and concealed fixings. But, the upper two fixing holes for screws are above the door level so direct horizontal drilling and screw driving are not possible. The holes must not be higher (or they could be got at from the top flap) so they should be lower.
Difficult to attach to the wall due to the design. The 2 to screws awkward to get to!

This post box was installed in no time, looks good, no sharp edges and easily unlocks .This post box had been my second choice as my original choice failed to arrive and was then unavailable so I was refunded the cost. However this post box exceeds expectations and I would certainly recommend.

It’s fairly straightforward to put up and does what you expect a letterbox to do.
Large letterbox like the finish keys bit stiff to open hopefully that will settle with use no problems with wet post so weatherproof enough
The box itself looks fine only problem was I ordered a white one and received a black one even though the picture on the package is of a white box ! I can’t be bothered with the hassle of returning it so a black one will have to do but I am a bit disappointed.not installed it yet but it looks fairly easy to do so and it looks weatherproof , time will tell. It does look sturdy and well made and as described (apart from the colour obviously).furthermore it does look very good value for money.

Got this as our dog destroys any post through the door and cant put a letterbox cover fue to the hallway wall.
Not had it very long but seems sturdy enough and no leaks so far. Post man uses it fine.

Have had this up for six months or more and am very happy with it. No problems whatsoever. Seems to accommodate anything we’ve had in the post including very small parcels… Obviously not larger parcels but they wouldn’t have gone through a letterbox either.
Good size, not that easy to mount on wall due to screw positions but once up is secure and design does not let in water as previous did. Fair value, decent product.

Was apprehensive after reading some reviews but ours has now been installed for 3 months and is still doing great. Easy to install, lock mechanism is fine and looks great on the front wall.
I ordered a white post box two days ago. Free shipping supposed to arrive late next week. Arrived today. Excellent service. Very well boxed. Great looking item. Great value. Easy to fit. Weatherproof so far and it poured down today. Okay, not a heavy duty item but really good value and looks great.

I like the simple shape and appearance of the post box and it was easy to install, as I am a amateur DIY’er.
Quality letterbox and easy enough for my partner to install. Perfect too for an A4 size envelope. I put based the Elegance. Looks great in silver on my red brick wall. Matches my house number too. Just need to remember to check inside it now! Can definitely recommend.
Really good quality. Really easy to put on the outside wall. Fits large letters and small parcels. Post is easy to remove as the whole front opens. Very happy with this purchase.
Looks good and does the job intended. Has a couple of drain holes so if rain does get in it can drain away. The lock feels fairly flimsy but overall I’m happy with it.
We had to mount it on a rough casted wall which was a little tricky. Two of the mounting points are difficult to access, if they were 10mm lower it would make things a lot easie
Fast delivery… again happy there, I would have give this 5 stars no question IF THE TWO TOP HOLES WERE PRE DRILLED 25mm further down.
Like previous reviews, it shouldn’t be a battle to screw in the two top screws.
Forgetting that, it’s ideal on our factory wall.
Really easy to install and looks very smart you can also order extra or replacement keys instructions are in the box.

Looks good on my house, it’s a big box but the post slot is narrow. Waterproof as it should be but the lock is sticking. Otherwise spot on.

Good quality, looks great and very weatherproof. My only gripes would be that the drilled holes at the top are in a slightly awkward place to get at to screw in when first installing and the top is very flat so water sits on the top of the box and doesn’t drain away but it does appear to be very weather proof despite this. I would recommend this post box.
Easy to install, just the right size. Need to seal it around outside to stop any water ingress. The lock is tricky and the keys are stiff they will wear in. Apart from these minor problems. Good product and excellent value.
Perfectly acceptable item but the screw holes are located in line with a bar making the use of a screwdriver virtually impossible – stupid mistake
This is a good, cheap, plain post box that does the job. However, the top screw holes for fixing to the wall are immediately behind the cross bar and therefore very awkward to fit a screw driver square to the screw head; why they didn’t pre-drill the screw holes 25mm higher or lower is beyond me.
Really great postbox, so far so good, has survived a few weeks of extremely wet weather with no wet letters. The top fixing holes are impossible as they are behind the top fixed letterbox section and you can’t get to them, so I did have to drill additional holes to fix it to the wall.
This does the job, looks smart and is good size, the only thing to let it down is the cheap lock
Looks good & is easy to open & shut & takes large quantity of post of varying size. One of the screws snapped while mounting but it still hung regardless. As for weatherproof I guess I’ll see once winter kicks in!

Can’t say if it is weatherproof since it is partially sheltered from rain but I don’t think rain would get in as the opening is not at the top of the box.

Great item exactly as described, have waited a few months to write a review to see how it is with different weather and happy to say that there is no issues with water getting in nor any signs of ruat at all. Installation was very simple (i was able to do this with little prior diy knowledge)

Agree with other reviews that it’s difficult to affix postbox to a surface as the screw holes are difficult to access with a screw driver. Resorted to bolting postbox to my external store cupboard door using a spanner. Can’t comment on its waterproofing as it’s sheltered under my porch. The door is a little flimsy which could be prised open fairly easily by a determined thief but small mail items are out of reach from the opening, but A4 sized letters may be stealable. Thicker parcels won’t fit in it. It took my postwo(men) a little while to use it as it, but works well now. It’s easy to lock and unlock.
Arrived quickly. As described. Smart finish. Easily installed. Magazines fit easily and post does not stick out.

Fast delivery. Product looks well made and I love the design. Did take a while to put up, but that was because my fiance “didn’t have the right drill bit”. Probably will rust in time.
Purchased to replace an existing box. Long reach screwdriver required to mount on the post, but otherwise pleased with the product and the price.
Great colour and finish. Large capacity. Although waterproof where we have installed it, the door feels a little flimsy.
Not the easiest to install; the 2 upper holes to fix the box to the wall were not easy to access.

Fitted it myself in about 30mins – 1hr. Has been rained on and direct sunlight exposure. So far can’t complain. Yes it feels a bit cheap but does the job and does it well for under 30.
This is a good size, but the flap is a bit awkward but its probably to keep it weather tight. So far, it is weather tight and the lock is easy to use. Was easy to screw on to my fence. Does the job!
Looks good but the opening is too narrow for small packets.
I really like the look of it. It goes perfectly with my new door. It keeps the mail dry and it is quite big. Only downside is that the holes to fix it are just behind the fixed part of the mail box. Even with a small screwdriver is not easy to fix it. If they would have made them 1 cm up or down it would have been much easier. Don’t use the screws supplied because they break.
The post box letter flap is not wide enough to take small/medium parcels, I.e. DVD, Books, etc. Apparently, the mail box has a narrow capacity for letters, only. I need a wide letter mouth to receive parcels this, saving me a trip to the post office. Otherwise, a good buy; unfortunately, inappropriate for me.

After a couple of years of coming home to find drenched mail, I replaced the old, supposedly weatherproof letter box with this. Read the reviews carefully and rejected any with comments about not being really waterproof. This one certainly is, so far. No more illegible magazines or soaking bills. Simple to fit – yes the screws could be better placed, as some people state, but it’s not really a big problem.
Cannot fault this product in any way. Have had it for nearly 6 months, and no complaints. (The only improvement I could suggest is to have a small window in the front so you can see if you have post or not, so no need to open with key just to check).
I’m happy with this purchase and my postie too. Seems well built, preferred brighter colour but price dictated the black. They need to place the top holes higher or lower than the central bar otherwise 5 stars.
I used this at work when the postman wouldn’t deliver the post to our upstairs reception.
Came with fixings and holds a decent amount of post. It would hold weeks’ work of post while you were away for example though
This is a replacement mailbox for previously damaged and this one is much better. Metal is sturdy. If opened with one hand the post does not fall out which was an issue with my older mailbox. I would only say it’s missing a place to put the house number on, but that can be resolved with sharpie and tape placed over it. So far so good.
A lovely post box and a decent size. I modified a bracket to attach it to railing, this was easy. A secure lock and hinges, altogether a quality piece. You can even register the key online and get a spare if necessary.
The top two holes are in a silly place, behind the flap but can be reached with a screwdriver extension. I threw away the provided screw and used concrete screws so didn’t need rawl plugs or a template.
Very good quality for the low price.

I think it is a bit hard for Postman to put letters inside, couse the opening is narrow, but otherwise good. Very good size and weather proof.

The Elegance Post Box sits perfectly on our house wall and looks smart and unobtrusive. The postman is almost as pleased as we are as he/she no longer have to bend to ground level to push mail through our door and there is no longer a risk of their fingers getting caught in the brushes of our very strong springed letter box! Very pleased with price, look and usefulness of our puurchase.

A usefully large box and the design should ensure that items inside will be difficult for unauthorised people to extract through the flap. It appears well made, but I will echo comments in other reviews that the top two screwholes are obstructed by the bar between the top flap and the lockable front, so they need to be tackled at an angle; possible but awkward.
Fine. Rain doesn’t seem to get in. Has lasted 4 months so far. Not enormous if you get a lot of large envelopes. Thick envelopes are quite a push and parcels don’t fit in obviously.
It was a pain to fit due to the top fixing holes were very difficult to get a screw driver in even with a stubby screw driver, I just made some new holes and that sorted out the problem. the box itself is good quality and even after the poor weather conditions, it seems rain proof.
Really happy with our post box. It does need to be emptied everyday especially if there is a large letter in the mix. The lid keeps shut in bad weather. Overall keeps post dry and secure!

Fit for purpose, not a thing of beauty but does the job well. It seemed straight forward enough to install provided the proper tools were to hand, and looks sturdy enough to last.
The post box is ideal for household mail unless you get a ridiculous amount of letters very pleased with this product overall as my mail is now safe from our two dogs who delighted in destroying everything that came through our door letter box.
This postbox is a good size and shape. It is fit for purpose as security is good. You cannot get a hand in to retrieve letters. A4 size letters and newspapers fit easily. I had been researching cast iron post boxes for a long term purchase however could not find a sleek, modern design like the Sterling. I went on a recommendation from someone who has these at their workplace as they apparently weather well. Time will tell.
my only gripe was the location of the fitting holes, there are four, the top two are directly behind the bar at the lower edge of the slot. It made marking the wall via the holes impossible so i had to measure how far apart the holes were and using spirit-level and set square to mark out on the wall where to drill, would have been so much easier if i could have just made a mark through all four holes. Come on that manufacturer, lower or raise the top two holes!!!
Having said that, the box is doing well although the shine has come off the keyhole.
Was bought for use pending building a permanent box into porch wall and was good value for the price paid. It may not last as long as some alternatives but they cost more and this is a good size for the money
Have said all that, now it’s up I’m very pleased with it.
