I’ve used a Roller Mouse for over 15 years. It’s great for those of us who word process all day long. I wish they offered replacement pads as they start to flake and peel after a few years. Do not try the Red version, it’s more expensive and not better.
i can not keep my hand on pronation, that is why i had to leave the regular mouse, and that is why now i use split and tilt keyboard. however although it works excellent for my shoulder/arm, i can not get rid of the tilt. vertical mouse dont work because i had self injured already my palm using mouses too big for my extreme little hand (i am woman height 5 feet and zero inches). so if it has the tilt would be the perfect solution for my personal wrist problem. if it were shorter I could tilt it on my own, but it is a long as the keyboard.
I’ve been using this model for years. Highly recommend it.
I invested in the Rollermouse as I have trigger fingers on both hands. I had tried other mouses but all have a scroll wheel which is part of the problem for me. I like the ease of use and the fact that I can scroll easily with the roller bar.
I’m sure this has saved me a lot of time and effort. I’ve used it at least 5 days a week for a year and a half and it’s still working great.
I have bi-lateral carpal tunnel & wouldn’t be able to work without it! It keeps my wrists straight & in front of me. I can use either hand to mouse. It is my second one, the last one lasted about 10 years
Gillade rollermousen mycket, anvnder den i mitt arbete som medicinsk sekreterare, vilket underlttat arbetet betydligt..
Really helped my sore wrist. It is difficult to control in graphic programs. I use a back up mouse for that. Other than that, highly recommended.
I have been using the Contour RollerMouse for years. This newest design is most comfortable and has features to make using it more versatile.
I highly recommend this product and the company’s reputation is one to trust.
Really easy to get used to. Let’s you distribute typing stress evenly between both hands. Since I started using it my elbow pain melted away.
Love the ease of cutting & pasting. Best kept secret. Try it and within a week you will get addicted!
This mouse is like none other for anyone who suffers from repetitive shoulder or wrist pain. It has an ergonomic design that requires little movement and gets the job done. Excellent design and quality, but a little pricey.
My old mouse caused shoulder and elbow pain which completely subsided when I started using the Contour Mousepad. It takes a day or two to adjust, but after that, it becomes second nature.
Has eliminated elbow pain and greatly reduced shoulder pain. Learning curve is moderately steep and it doesn’t have quite enough range for 3 monitors
My 3rd one in fifteen years. Wouldn’t use anything else.
I’ve been using the Contour roller mouse 2 for about 15 years now for work and wore it out! My company wasn’t able to order it through their catalog, so of course I found it on Amazon! It works just like my other one and is very easy to use. Love it!
It takes a little bit of time to get used to but I like i
With the buttons and roller now in the centre of my workstation, my range of motion is limited. My shoulder and hand pain has disappeared completely! It took a few days to get used to, but I now love how I can use either hand to scroll or click. I cannot say enough good things about this mouse!
Reduces fatigue in my wrists. Takes about a week to get used to, but is great after that.
I bought this for video and audio editing but it didn’t work well for the task. What the RollerMouse Pro3 really works well for is typing and general computer use. It’s so much faster than using a mouse. I’ve used mine enough the left button is getting worn but it’s still super comfortable and I can type for hours with greater speed and my hands and wrists don’t hurt. It’s a little pricey but if you value your time and want to type faster, it’s fantastic.
This is my third roller mouse. The others wore out one way or another after years of use. No complaints about the quality of the product. But I have some modest design concerns with this one. I can’t get my keyboard at the right height, and I found it necessary to get a one-inch thick wooden board to hold the keyboard high enough so that my thumbs/palms don’t keep hitting the roller accidentally. The “right” relationship between the elements here is quite personal, so your mileage may vary on this score. In any event, this lets me work without putting too much strain on my shoulder because I don’t have to reach for the mouse as much. The programmable buttons also provide a lot of flexibility. I’m still a fan here.
So far so good works exactly as we envisioned it would
I had used almost this exact roller mouse model at my last job. So when my wrist started hurting at my new job, using a regular mouse, I knew what I needed.
I ordered it and it arrived quickly.
I love how I can use either hand to operate the mouse with ease, sharing the days workload over two hands. The copy and paste buttons are great and the mouse keeps my back straight. Love that it doubles as a wrist rest when typing too.
Best mouse ever!
This saves my life. Really! Without this I could not do my job. I never have to life my hands off the keyboard to use a mouse to click anywhere on the screen. This totally eliminates shoulder and wrist pain. I work a solid 8 hour day on a computer without any issues at all.
I was a bit hesitant as it’s a big piece of kit but a great purchase. I’ve got mild RSI in my fingers and this has helped massively. The bar rolls SO smoothly it’s a pleasure to use. Great to have simple features like the double click, copy and paste buttons to reduce clicks needed. Also comes with keyboard height adjusters so didn’t need to worry about that.
For years, working with a computer meant removing your hand from the keyboard to the mouse (most times at least 12 inches away) back and forth a zillion times. This Rollermouse solved that hassle. The mouse, scroll wheel, right & left click, along with special copy & paste buttons and a double click button ….All within a finger’s reach without removing my hands from the wrist pad. Plus the support is awesome. I updated my MacOS to BigSur 11.4 and the scroll wheel stopped working. I contacted Contour Support and they had a new driver created in a day or so that fixed the problem.
My shoulder wrist and forearm pain are gone! I regularly use two large monitors plus my laptop screen, moving the cursor across all of them is easy, once you hit the end of scroll bar if you haven’t made it to the desired area, there is a spring type of thing. Just push into the spring and the cursor resets and continues moving as needed.
I was hesitant about getting the roller mouse because 1) I wasn’t sure how easy multiple monitors would be, it’s a snap and nothing to worry about. 2) I had used an ergonomic split keyboard for 15+ years, so I was concerned about not being able to use the older mouse with that style of keyboard. I decided to give it a try and now use a regular keyboard with no wrist pain as of yet. I’ve been using the roller mouse for a couple of months now. 3) The price had me think long and hard about it; but I decided to give it a try through Amazon because it’s easy to return if it didn’t work out, and because if it did work it’s much cheaper than doctor visits, physical therapy or surgery. I’m extremely happy to say I have not needed to go to the doctor for the pains I had and I no longer need to eat ibuprofen like candy. The only regret is that I didn’t find the roller mouse a couple of years ago.
I use the number pad on the keyboard extensively, so I chose the Pro3, it’s perfect.
I have chronic pain and repetitive motion issues. I tried half a dozen “ergonomic” mice that did nothing for my pain. This one keeps my hands centered and lets me use both hands, it took away a lot of strain on my neck and wrists!
Love it so much! Elimination of the fact has subdued some shoulder pain I used to experience daily.
I developed tendonitis in my right elbow – probably from computer and mouse use 10-12 hours a day. I decided to get this roller mouse to keep my elbows tucked and comfortable. This mouse is very well made and it helped with my tendonitis. I do a lot of graphics creation and gaming and I have a regular high-end gaming mouse. This roller mouse is good for most of my graphics work and browsing. I use two hands – one on the bar for moving the cursor and the other for clicking. It works well that way. However, this roller mouse cannot be used for gaming at all. And with graphics work, it’s not nearly as precise as my regular mouse. So, if I need very small movements, I revert back to my regular mouse. But for most casual mouse work, the roller mouse is fine. I have both mice connected so I can switch back and forth between the roller and regular mouse as needed.
It is perfect! I do not have to reach for a mouse or track ball, the copy and paste buttons are excellent, if you feel pain in your shoulders this is what you need. It is worth every cent!
Thank you for your developing such a thoughtful produc
This mouse is a godsend for my poor shoulder. I have an issue with my rotator cuff and I’ve tried several mouses, all of which leave me in pain after a few hours but this one is fantastic! Love the fact that you can control the speed of the mouse and the short cut buttons are great. Works well with my Mac and my laptop.
I have two reasons for not giving it 5 stars:
– it doesn’t work well with ergonomic keyboards so I’ve had to compromise there
– it’s really expensive and you’d expect it to be wireless for that price.
Developed shoulder mouse injury and radial nerve pain due to years of using regular mouse. On my third week of using this roller mouse and my shoulder pain had subsided. Easy to use. No more gripping! Really like the roller bar , feels like butter. The only thing is that my ergonomic keyboard did not fit well with this mouse . It is curved with hand rest built in so it took alot of space and had to reach up to type . So had to revert back to regular keyboard. Which is fine for now since my job is 90% mouse dependent. Another thing are the pads . They are a bit stiff although I am very picky about that. Regular mouse pads hurts after long use so I usually make my own with soft materials. For this roller mouse pads, it’s built in . Wish they made it softer. Otherwise, it’s a good investment. Very expensive but outweighs long term injury! Highly recommend if you have shoulder mouse and nerve pain/injury.
This is my fifth rollermouse and I love it! I do graphics design and on the computer for hours and hours, etc. This item definitely helped! It does take time getting used to. But once you do, you will never go back to a basic mouse! Worth the investment!
I started using a Roller Mouse years ago when my elbow and then thumb were injured by using a regular mouse and then a trackball. It has alleviated my injuries and is much easier to use as well. It is particularly useful when on a Zoom call as it can be used without being seen. The new model replaced an older model that had been used for many years.
I loved this roller mouse at work for years and so when we had to leave the office due to covid I got one from home. It works beautifully, Smooth mouse and easy to use. I cannot imagine having a regular mouse now.
This product is amazing. I was apprehensive due to the pricetag and having already tried various other ergonomic mice which did not improve my RSI But should not have hesitated at all.
Very sleek appearance and very easy to set up; took no time at all to get used to using, the copy and paste and double click buttons are an excellent addition. No more having to hold down the mouse to drag items and easy to use with both hands.
I can’t sing the praises of this mouse enough. I’ve been using one for years. This is my second one. The other one, one key malfunctioned after a decade, and instead of fixing it, I opted for a new one.
Not only does this mouse keep you from getting carpal tunnel, it’s faster because your hands stay in the same area as the keyboard. I started using this to avoid some early signs of carpal (my mom and grandmother and aunt all had it and had the surgery). After just a week of using this mouse, all signs of carpal tunnel disappeared and It has never returned since the early 2000s.
This mouse has the added benefit of keeping people off your computer at home and work. Most people are confused by it and stay away.
Worth every penny!!!
Expensive but I found it a really useful alternative to an ordinary mouse in helping me manage arm and shoulder problems. The roller mouse has copy and paste buttons too. My work paid for one for me and I bought this one to have set up at an alternative work station. Quite an outlay but so worth it for me.
Excellent customer service. Using two monitors, when the roller would run out of room, it was requiring a lot of pressure to get it going again, which hurt my wrist. A knowledge customer service person suggested upping my cursor speed. It moves quite a bit faster than I am used to, but I’ll adapt. It is much easier to use with two monitors.
I have the roller mouse red but wanted this one for another work station, I can’t imagine going back to a regular mouse and having to continually reach over to move it. This has resolved right shoulder pain due to the reaching.
I had the Contour Rollermouse 2 and loved it, the PRO3 is just has great if not better and like the padded wrist rest smooth easy to use roller and buttons.
I was having issues several years ago with carpal tunnel and trigger thumb where surgeries and other treatments had been recommended by docs from the excessive mouse use my job requires. I tried a vertical mouse and the problems got worse. I tried this and started feeling relief immediately. No real adjustment to use it – super easy to use. Now, several years later my problems are still resolved. I have them at home and at my office and will never go back to using a regular mouse as long as this option exists. Rollerball is fabulous! One of my best purchases ever.
I ordered for my supervisor and he was very pleased
Using this rollerbar helps reduce the stress on my wrist.
May be a little expensive but worth the cost for ease of use. It plugs in and goes. I bought this as a 2nd one to travel with but be aware, it is narrower than the contour red plus but slightly longer. Saying that, I did not check the length difference. I do like the contour red better as it has a wider rollbar with little bumps on it and with nerve damage it helps more. Saying that, this one is a great alternative and a little cheaper, I love the copy & paste buttons which some cheaper ones do not have as standard along with the little scroll wheel. I have used this brand for a few years now and never looked back. At first it seems strange and alien and you feel slowed down, persevere and get used to it as in the long run you will be quicker and much more comfortable. As this was a 2nd travel item for me I tried a different brand that was cheaper, it was horrendously plastic, not comfortable and more suited to the bin. Do not go for any other brand, I truly would not be without a contour rollbar.
Im a graphic designer and the accuracy is amazing. A must have for any full time mouser. This eliminates the shoulder movement from using a mouse. Easy to use roll bar only took one day to acclimate. Best ergonomic purchase ever! Would highly recommend.
This is my second Contour Rollermouse. It was suggested to my by an ergonomic analyst at my company. It has a bit of a learning curve to start, but once you get used to it you will never go back.
Facile installer.
I had an older version of this rollermouse at work and wanted one for home. This new design is perfect and it works great — just like the old I had at work. I have a repetitive stress injury so a “traditional” mouse causes me shoulder and wrist pain where this mouse does not. Highly recommend. Tip: if you buy this first and then get a keyboard, get a keyboard that is not wide at the bottom. This will allow less of a reach from the rollermouse to the keyboard.
I really like this mouse! It is way more comfortable than using a traditional mouse and I can use it ambidexterously if I choose to. I’ve been using an older model for a couple of years now. I finally decided to purchase my own newer model. This one has a bit more functionality to adjust cursor speed, but you can do that from computer settings.
I love the way it moves the cursor and scrolls. The long rollerbar has a wide range of motion and it’s easy and fun to use. the clicks of the buttons are smooth and it’s a thoughtful product. Ultimately I did not prefer two things that may not bother you: (a) The solution to the inevitable “end of range” issue, and (b) the height relative to my keyboard. ((a)) The rollerbar runs out of room on the left and right. It’s not infinite. When it runs out, you push an extra click to the right or left (using the rollerbar), and the cursor jumps to the far-right or far-left of screen. Not my preference but probably other less difficult folks would learn to use that. ((b)) Secondly, the housing shielding the rollerbar is rather high. This is kind of essential, that it have a housing to hold the rollerbar. But I bumped into it when typing certain keys low on my keyboard. I tried to raise up the keyboard to avoid this, but then I had the opposite problem: Rollerbar was now lower than the keyboard and hard to use. So, again, probably a learning curve that you can get used to with habit and practice. I just preferred to go back to a freestanding touchpad peripheral. The above really is a good product. Just giving you the skinny. Other adjustments they offer (click firmness, keyboard height arms, key programming which I didn’t get to) are all well-done. Cursor moves like a dream. The rolling and scrolling were delicious. Just expect a bit of learning on these small features and you’ll be golden.
This is a great product!! Why? Mice and trackpads have high electromagnetic radiation. Bad for my hand– for anyones hands. This device has practical none. Excellent. Also I love the copy & paste buttons and the separate double click button.
Saved my career. This is the only mouse that works for me. Recommended by my physical therapist. Highly recommended!
I love using a roller bar mouse. Have been a loyal Contour Brand user for over 12 years. Just replaced my RollerMouse Pro with the RollerMouse Pro 3 after my old Pro was starting to get glitchy after about 5 years of hard use. I like the Pro 3 well enough. It is sleeker than its older sibling and you can change the sensitivity of both the bar and the cursor.
The shipping is minimalist while also being completely secure, which I appreciate.
The reason I only gave 4 stars and not 5 though is the sound. Clicking on the bar is LOUD. Louder than my keyboard clicks and noticeably louder than my old Pro. The buttons aren’t very loud, but the bar click is jarring it is so loud.
It is distracting when trying to work in a quiet house. If clicking sounds don’t bother you, then this would be a minor issue. For +$200 though, I’d thought they could have kept it a bit quieter.
I have shoulder issues that are aggravated from mousing. Had switched to track ball years ago which helped immensely and then I learned about this from a coworker. Got one at work and loved it so much that I invested for one at home. So glad that I did. So easy to move hand from space bar to track bar. Much more comfortable than moving hand to the outside of keyboard for mouse work.
Excellent piece of equipment. Very expensive but useful. Bought it because tennis elbow pain in my right arm. It allows me using my left hand. I’ve tried a vertical mouse as well as a ball one and couldn’t train myself to use the left hand.
The mouse is in the center. No need to over reach for the mouse, since everything is done with the roller bar in the center. I would definitely recommend this product.
My previous company purchased for me a keyboard and the Contour Mouse Pro2 several years ago. When I left they let me take it with me. It finally started to mess up when I would try to copy something with the left copy button. I knew it was time for a new one. I purchased the Contour RollerMouse Pro 3 as it just seems to be a upgraded version.
I plugged it in and it worked wonderfully. I would recommend this to anyone who has problems the their right or left arms that use the conventional type of mouse. This is a life saver to my arthitic shoulder. It’s also funny to watch someone try to use it that uses a converntional one. Just because it is in front of them that can’t get the hang of it being the exact same thing that they use otherwise!
Working on ambidexterity to relieve shoulder pain. This has been easy to adapt to and helps me work symmetrically balanced.
Great product
Got it for father with Parkinson’s and liked it so well, bought 2 for myself- Home and work. Slight learning curve
I’ve been a computer programmer for many years.
Around 20 years ago I started getting terrible pains in my wrists and up my arms. Also in my right shoulder.
I tried a whole host of alternative mice, trackballs, pointers – you name it – I tried it!
None helped – often just causing pain in different places.
For the last 15 or 16 years I have been using the Contour RollerMouse – and its saved my career!
Pains gone!
It took a little while to get used to it but now I’d never use anything else.
They do wear out – I have had 3 Rollermouse Pros in the 15 or 16 years – just bought the Rollermouse Pro3.
So I guess they last around 5 – 7 years.
They have improved over the years and the RollerMouse Pro3 is a definite improvement over version 2.
When my version 2 became temperamental my initial reaction was “Oh great – I have to buy another of these things”.
Its a necessary not an exciting purchase!
What’s improved is the tracking speed can now be adjusted via a button on the top – rather than turning it over and turning a dial.
Secondly the scroll button is so much smoother to use – its buttery smooth!
If my old Rollermouse had not broken would I have bought the upgraded version? NO!
But it makes me feel a bit better about having to replace the old one!
This is a really good mouse for my wrists and hands..highly recoment it!
Wonderful mouse and great for people with RSI in the wris
For anyone that suffers from carpal tunnel or Dequavarian’s, this is an excellent product to use if you do not want to limit your computer use. Product arrived on time and I have not had any problems with this product.
I love this mouse!!!! I had the original Contour Free rollermouse and it lasted about 7 years. I ordered the Contour Free3, but found that the redesign over the years made it uncomfortable (too much pressure required to depress left click). However, I ordered the Pro3 and it is perfect. It is easy to use and the pressure needed to left click does not bother my joints as the Free3 did. I definitely recommend this product to everyone!
This works as expected. I’ve been using one at work for many years now and finally got one for home. Those who can’t or won’t use it can still use a regular mouse (wired or wireless) and leave the roller mouse station plugged in.
I’ve been using this company’s RollerMouse product for at least 15 years. As a result, it eliminated all the pain in my forearm and wrist caused by a traditional mouse. I only bought this new one because I finally broke the original one and needed a replacement. This replacement is so much better as the roller bar has been elongated which is even more comfortable – no turning of the wrist – so it is even more ergonomic. I work on just about every software application you can think of including Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel Spreadsheets. Highly recommend this product.
It is great. Although the way it doesn’t actually attach the keyboard to the roller mouse is not the best set up but will get used to it.
