As an avid gamer and cricket-mad fan, I’ve been waiting for over 20 years for a good cricket sim. This sure delivers. Yes it has faults, but they are slowly being ironed out as patches emerge. This is my go-to game now, has been for some time. Racked up some serious hours on career mode, and my attention isn’t waning. Highly recommended if you’re a cricket fan like me. Be prepared to lose lots of time once you get stuck into career mode, it’s addictive.
Enjoyable game with some nice touches but let down with a few bugs. Sometimes the commentary is way off and fielders don’t always run to the ball, but overall I have enjoyed playing the game and graphics are good. If you like cricket you should enjoy this game too
he game is really good and love the graphics the game okay is much better than the previous games love the new changes to the bowling and batting is much better love the new run out system
Enjoying career mode at the moment. The game crashes here and there but stability has improved following updates released by the developers. Really wished they could have attained licenses for the South Asian teams. Come on BCCI & PCB. What are you guys playing at?!! Do it for the fans!
Now that a few bugs that were present upon release have been fixed, Cricket 22 is a really enjoyable game and can be as fun/challenging as you want it to be. There’s still some things to iron out, crucially a crash in Career Mode on PS4 but Big Ant are actively working to resolve this and enhance the game in general.
The new look of the players takes some getting used to but the variety of bowling animations, batting shots and improved (But not yet perfect) fielding look and feel great. Some of the replays, including a new panning camera look stunning.
The customisation options are great with even more depth and easier to use colour options when using kits. Competition Designer is sadly missing from the game at present but will possibly be patched in.
Career has greater depth off the field but doesn’t intrude/slow things down too much. Like I say, there are crash issues on some platforms though.
The menu screens are also much brighter, clearer and simply better. This game (Or previous versions) often gets compared with FIFA/NBA etc, sometimes negatively. I find it immersive and enjoyable with the unparalleled customisation providing it with longevity.
To sum up, the menu screens are better, the gameplay looks great whilst still requiring a little bit of work particularly around fielding and the games is as good, enjoyable or challenging as you make it.
To make the game more lifelike, I tend to let my 8 month old take charge of England whilst I play as Australia, They’ve been playing it for nearly 45 minutes now, and they have already managed to play more shots than Rory Burns has managed in the whole series so far.
