Good quality and looks good. Certainly blocks out the light.
Excellent blackout curtains. Quality material, great thickness but not to heavy.
Good black blinds has helped everyone in house have better sleep
These have been a real difference to the warmth of the room, great quality
Great curtains for living room. Curtains are thin but don’t allow light through which is Grea
Blackout first lie in for ages. Bedroom is warmer and feels cosy. Surprised that the curtains were so low cost for the lovely quality
It’s pretty good for the price. Not a complete blackout but I can’t complain since all I used to use was blinds in my bedroom and it was painful to sleep
I got these for my son’s room. They give a really neat, streamline look to where he used to have grey curtains. These absolutely block the light which is brilliant as he has a street light right outside.
Ordered 4 sets for living and dining room! Heavy duty and good for winte
Nothing just ordered the wrong size so sending back And reordering
They hang lovely like fabric look good up window too
For my living room which I have 4 door like windows using one on each window is great covers full window length and width
Material and Quality beautiful. Really happy with them and would purchase agai
I was a bit sceptical due to the price but these curtains are great they have really darkened my room . Good quality !
Love my new curtains , so worth the money , great material and definitely black out as you can see , highly recommended
My choice for winter curtains! Heat retention, blocking light from my home, and the colour compliments my decor!
Not blackout due to the pale colour but do reduce the light coming through. Very impressed with the quality considering the price
Great product. I wake up at noon now cause I think it is still midnight.
Bought these curtains in navy blue. I would say they are more dark denim. Turns out perfect match to the paint I got for my main wall. Very happy
These curtains are surprisingly light yet they are definitely black out curtains. The feel of the material is silky and smooth and are a lovely vibrant colour.
They are well worth the price paid and worthy of five stars.
They’re not heavy, super easy to install AND they keep sunlight and heat off my room. My room in the afternoon is hit directly by the sun so this is great during uk heatwaves. 10/10
Far better than I expected for the price, are a good thickness and the black out aspect works great.
Bought some and i am very much pleased by the quality. Good blackout too and keeps the heat in or out depending on seaso
Really pleased with these curtains and the thickness is really going help keep the cold out during winte
Got this to block out the light as was interfering with my infant’s sleep, worked wonders! We were both out immediately! Good quality, even in the morning it stays quite dark.
Fed up with waking so early, bought these. They do the job.
Very good curtains, it does the job of darkening the room.
Materia is really nice, totally cover sunlight. High quality for this price.
I was really impressed with the quality of these curtains, especially considering the price. I would definitely recommend!!
My mother is more than pleased with them and couldnt wait to get them up. Have not taken a photo as disnt think about it at the time. The quality is fantastic. Would buy again.
Great set of curtains, light material and do block out sunlight. Dangerously dark as they encourage you to oversleep due to how dark they are. I ordered the black colour, which work well.
Lovely curtains, and much better blackout than Dunelm ones I paid a fortune fo
Great curtains only down fall is they say black out but they aren’t fully blackout curtains as there is still some light that does come through them when there closed but overall great curtains and practically do what is specified
Just plain and simple I was robbed this product is NOT what is described I’ve got many pairs of blackout curtains and these are anything but tha
The lighting isn’t the best but they are lovely light fabric and hang well very pleased
Bought these as the sun in summer was waking my child up at 5am which wasn’t appreciated, thankfully these curtains resolved that issue, so can 100% say that these are blackout curtains, and fulfil there purpose. Only thing I will say is that they are not light pink but more of darker tone. But still go well with room decor. Absolute bargai
Helped keep the heat out during the recent heatwave which was really good for me as I have a heart condition that is affected by the heat so I was able to keep safe and keeps out light quite well
These look great, nice stitch quality and finishing. Best part is the incredible black out performance they provide (grey curtains). Waiting to test out the thermal aspects in winte
These are very good blackout curtains. Light in weight but they work well. Length is perfect, could have done with more width but these were the widest with the length we wanted. Good value for money.
I seem to be lucky having got a pair which are as advertised. Would advise only ordering black if you want the blackout aspect. As you can see they are indeed blackout curtains as they do the job of darkening the room perfectly. Lightweight yes but they weigh enough to indicate a degree of quality, which is all you can ask for at this price.
If you’re swithering like I was, go for it and keep the packaging pristine for any potential return.
Lovely curtains and nice colour, but not blackout as can see light through the fabric
Always very dubious about buying things like this online as I like to look and feel the material but as you do having a nosey on the internet saw these and I was like you know what the reviews are good the price is brilliant just go for it!!!
I’m so glad I did perfect for my little lads room 100% blackout and the material is so soft they hang really well. So pleased!
They look nice.
Not a perfect blackout but good enough.
I am happy with them.
Not black out but definitely darken the room considerably which is perfect for us as we’ve got a blind underneath too. Material is nice and lightweight so you don’t need a big heavy pole, doesn’t look or feel cheap either despite the price. Would recommend!
These are a very pretty colour made with nice material They aren’t exactly blackout they do darken the room with a pink colour which is nice to sleep in..
I was looking for a solution for old windows and avoid the winter drafts and these are perfect! They completely insulate from the cold and the curtain is at room temperature to the touch, creating a completely insulated thermal cushion between the curtain and the window! I bought them black and they protect 100% from the light but the surprising thing that left me stunned is the acoustic insulation: even the dog remains indifferent to certain loud noises that bothered him before! To the touch they are silky and very beautiful to look at! They have big holes for sticks but I was able to put them on the sticks on the window without any difficulty! I think I’ll buy more and I’m really curious to test them in the summer with the direct sun !!!!
We bought these for my mum in her room as the previous curtains she had were quite thin so she wasn’t getting a lot of sleep when the light would shine through however these are perfect and so much better. They look nice and they do keep out the light when needed and they fit easily with the eyelets too making them very easy to put up and hang better (again, anyone who knows the old style curtains with the little clips and string etc.. know how they’re not great).
Really great purchase and very happy with them, packed and delivered well and fast too, thank you!!! 🙂
Like the feel of the material and is good blacking out.
Colour however not as bright yellow as i expected, more of a mustard.
Gave these a go as needed some blackout curtains but we are renting so didn’t want to spend much, for the price they are perfect, although not completely black out they are much better than what we had before! I would recommend going for a darker colou
They do the job, good quality. Just wish I ordered longer ones(I will be on pay day). Nice and heavy weight, not cheap quality and the eye let’s are strong
I had very light curtains and was waking up at 5am. I was nervous ordering these because of the many reviews saying that they’re not blockout curtains. I am however satisfied with the blockout they provide. I will want the room to remain dark but I do want to see when it is morning, if I was to wake up to complete blackness I wouldn’t know it was morning and sleep most of the day! If you don’t order enough drops to double the width of your window you will have more light coming through, which I think might be the issue with the negative reviews.
Arrived promptly, colour as on screen (khaki), soft material and lightweight, no heavy creases on unpacking so could go straight up. They are lighter weight than we expected so not sure how they will be in colder weather also – and this is our fault *not* these curtains – we didn’t think about the light that eyelet curtains let in at the top compared to pencil pleat but that’s us not thinking
Good value for money purchase
I purchased and fitted these curtains in the yellow colour, after much searching for the right curtain suitable for my daughter’s new room.
I must say that the colour shade is truly beautiful and suited the room perfectly.
The material feels exquisite, light and soft, but yet strong.
The stitching is perfect all round, way better than I could have expected for the price.
Material is just one layer, not multilayers, however when looking closely there may be a darker thread in the weave to achieve light blocking.
The rings are well made and slide on the pole much better than those on my Dunelm curtains.
Regarding level of blackout, this is as good as you will get unless you purchase from the likes of Dunelm at ten times the price and request a physical blackout layer sowed on to the back of your curtains.
BUT, you must use in conjunction with a blind, that is common sense. Curtains should not be the only light barrier on a window. For a start, sun would eventually damage any curtain, no matter the quality.
With the venetian blind closed on my daughters room, and these Deconovo curtains drawn, the room is sufficiently dark to sleep inside, even on a bright sunny day outside as it is here today.
With the above points in mind, you should not be disappointed.
Remember to order a size that’s at least a third to a half wider than the area to be covered, due to the way the rings run on the pole. Not such a problem if its the pleated version you are ordering.
These are surprisingly good at doing what they’re sold for- keeping out light.
As long as you get a dark colour, they will work really quite well. Sure they aren’t studio blackout curtain quality, but they cost a fraction of the price and weigh a fraction of the weight. You’ll get a good dark room though. The kind with the eyelets at the top for curtain poles are particularly good- as they tend to sit higher, so will block more light at the top.
They are functional rather than fancy- I am sure some people would blow a gasket at how Lulu Lyttle they aren’t, but they do the job for me. They are easy to put up, and look basically fine. The black ones with the silver five-pointed stars look like they’re from the stage show of a middling magician, but are all the more charming for it.
I have bought multiple pairs of these now- we started with a pair for the living room to replace some curtains that had seen better days. They did a good job and seemed to block light well too. We then picked up a pair for the bedroom, to make it easier to avoid waking up incredibly early in the summer- this was surprisingly effective.
Finally, the spare room had to be re-purposed as a home office, so a plain black pair were bought for in there. This massively improved the usability of the space for video editing, as there were no huge glowing cottony window rectangles reflecting in every monitor any more.
Essentially, these curtains seem practical and effective for keeping light out. They won’t give you a completely lab/studio black out, nor should they be your only source of darkness for all your hipster retro loading of 35mm and medium format rollfilm onto reels for developing. However, with a little care, they will keep most light out and let you sleep better, nurse your migraine or get up to no good. For the money, they’re great.
Do be aware that if you primarily want them for light blocking, that you should probably choose the darkest colour that you can. They are more or less just a single piece of woven fabric- so the lighter ones will probably let more light in.
Not in a room that gets much light so cannot comment on whether blackout or not. The curtains are fine. Took a bit of ironing to get some of the creases out and was happy to see they are machine washable. They hang reasonably well although I will be using tie backs when open as they do tend to spray out a bit at the bottom. The stitching isnt 100% but not bad enough to notice when up – I did notice a couple of dodgy bits while ironing them along with a slight flaw in the material on one. As I noticed before – you dont notice any of the issues when up. All in all happy with the purchase. These are 20 curtains – they look fine – the room looks much better with curtains up – why pay a fortune on others unless you have the type of friends that judge you by the designer labels that you have. New friends rather than curtains are required in that instance
For the price this set is ideal, it’s not going to be totally black of course, but it’s gotta be 90% my window is blasted by the sun in the morning and beforehand it was almost impossible to sleep, but now it’s amazing, blocking out most light to create a dark room, sleep no longer an issue. The fitting is easy too and both curtain rod and curtains look great and feel quality.
I got the black curtains as this is going to give the best results as blackout curtains obviously. The stars above may confuse, is lightweight a good or bad thing. Does 5 stars mean it’s lighter or heavier? Sheerness too. If your after blackout curtains for a good price and a curtain rod that compliments it. Look no further.
I was very skeptical at first, the reviews are all over the place… We took a chance and I’m so glad we did, ignore all the dodgey reviews, these curtains are beautiful and completely blackout (hubby works nights so they have to block out the daylight), couldn’t believe the price either! We went to B&Q before ordering these and it’s 40+ for ONE CURTAIN! I’m honestly so happy we took the chance on these.
Regarding blackout: I got the chocolate colour — dark brown. These work pretty well as blackout curtains. I can see how lighter coloured curtains will not give a good blackout effect as has already been commented on. The listing does say dark colours work better as blackout which is pretty obvious really.
There is quite a lot of light bleeding around the edge of mine — but that is due to the pole length and distance from the wall. It would need to be a lot longer to stop blead around the sides, and closer to the wall to prevent bleed at the top and bottom. The curtains themselves do block the light quite successfully. See picture attached.
The material is quite light (weight not colour) and only single thickness. There is no lining or second layer. Not only does this reduce any blackout effect it also means they don’t hang very well from the packet. Mine were creased in odd ways in the packet, and I suspect they will take a while to hang neatly as there is just no weight to pull them straight. The material is OK – they don’t feel amazing but they are not horrible.
These are quite cheap curtains and for the price they perform well enough so I have scored them as such. If you really need heavy blackout curtains that look nice you will need to pay a lot more to get lined curtains, and you might need to reconsider the curtain pole you are using too.
I work from home and my desk is right next to the window, so when sunshine is very bright on a sunny day, reading the monitor can be a bit hard. Meanwhile as summer is approaching the sunlight tend to wake me up early, so I decided to purchase blackout curtains to reduce the sunlight in the room. I was pleased to find this part curtains work nicely to reduce the sunlight to a comfortable level so I can sleep well, and extra bonus is they indeed have thermal control effect – I can feel the temperature difference between the two sides, so I feel cooler sitting next to the curtains. They do make the light in the room in a dark yellow tone when sunshine was very bright, which I don’t particularly like – would have picked a different color if had that in mind, but they look fine when sunlight is not so bright. Overall I am very happy with this product and won’t go back to my non-blackout thick curtains.
Stumbled upon these on Amazon & thank goodness I did!
Excellent Value for money, they are the perfect blackout curtains. Since putting them up I have had excellent nights sleep much to my delight. Can’t go wrong.
I’m in love with these curtains!! These are the best I’ve ever had and tried so many over time. I ordered them in three colours and I was surprised by the beautiful texture, colours and lightweight. They are easy to iron and look beautiful on the wall. They are not true blackouts, however they do a good job keeping the light away. I couldn’t be happier, I finally got the curtains I was looking for! Highly recommended.
I bought these in two sizes and colours, and they are without a doubt the best quality curtains I have ever bought. They are a very thick material, and work extremely well as both a blackout curtain and noise reducer. I have South facing windows and barely a scrap of light can be seen even during the middle of the day. They really help to keep the heat in too, I have noticed.
One thing to note: as the top ‘zig zags’ on the curtain pole, you need to make sure you order one a bit too wide for your window. I didn’t for one of mine, although I returned and ordered a larger size with no problems at all.
I bought one pair and they look great. Lightweight but very solid, good at blocking the light (although blocking the light completely is a moot point really because the light will always shine through the top and bottom of the curtains, so buying these soley for that purpose is futile). They hang nicely and actually look more expensive than they are.
I made the mistake of buying another one from a different supplier. It was like day and night. They were really creased, too lightweight, and just looked shabby. PLUS it turned out they were only about 4 cheaper but only supplied ONE curtain. So I reurned them and bought another pair of Deconovo.
The second pair were just as good. But this time no tie- backs were supplied. I contacted their customer service and turns out they’re no longer doing tie-backs. But their support person was lovely and offered to ship the tie-backs from their Asian office if I didn’t mind the wait, which was very kind. Excellent service and excellent value for money product.
I took a gamble on ordering these, not thinking I would get much considering the price but needing a quick fix with the right drop. These are actually lovely. Could do with being a bit wider or having the option to buy wider, but other than that they’re quite good for blocking the morning sun, nice length at a good cost, nice colour and very soft. Very happy
Successfully blocks the light that our white blackout blinds can’t manage. I bought 2 sets of Dark Grey curtains 46″ wide x 54″ drop to cover our wide window. I didn’t need to stitch together the two curtains at each side as they naturally close to keep out the light when pulled together. Easily hung on our existing pole without bending it (it does have a centre bracket, not visible in the pictures).
Downside: They need a wash to get rid of the factory smell (packaging says washable at 30) – alternatively the smell goes after 24 hours airing. The side seams make the bottom corners ‘flick’ out somehow – the stitching matches the curtain, but the stitches are huge. Beware of the static when ironing them!
Photos shows how they look with light on (my light makes them appear patchy) and how well they work as blackout curtains (in addition to the existing ‘blackout blinds).
I now have a set of blackout curtains for all my main windows. Most or all purchased from Deconovo.
The main reason I buy blackout curtains is not to stop light getting in but to stop light getting out and to prevent people seeing in. These curtains play their role well.
The quality is good. The darker the curtain the better the blackout effect, naturally.
Reading reviews my impression is there are occasional buyers who receive defective curtains, which is to be expected when products are shipped in large volume.
Looking at review photos it appears many people forget to buy curtains that are wider than their windows. Pleated curtains need to be at least 1/3rd wider than the window space to be covered otherwise the pleats flatten too much and the material is less blackout effective.
I’m happy. Nosy neighbours find it very difficult to see whether I’m awake or asleep and they certainly can’t see me or my silhouette through my curtains at night and the early hours. My neighbours are not so happy.
I got light purple and is lovely!! Not light coming in the room, the material is really soft and nice and the colour is stunning I love this product!!
They have 2 in a packet and also they have 2 little things to tide them up.
After reading other reviews, I am going to amend mine. These are room darkening curtains, not black out curtains. They do darken the room well, but are not 100% blockers of sunlight. Material is nice, it is a little shiny. They will need to have an iron taken to them, but I would for sure use a towel between the iron and the curtain, or I think you will melt the fabric of the curtain. My only complaint is the hem, most all other curtains have a 3 inch hem. This helps give the curtain some weight when hanging. These do not. They have a rolled hem, so it’s not the best look. But for what you pay for the curtains, they definately do the job.
After reading reviews we were dubious about buying these to replace out blinds but we were so desperate to get some blackout curtains for a fair price that we took a chance and ordered them. Definitely worth the money. Not a 100% blackout as the material is quite thin as far as blackout curtains go. The black ones look great however, and we have no issue with the look or feel of the material, we’re very happy in fact.
The amount of light that gets through is minimal. They completely block out our neighbours security light which would shine through our window till the early hours of the morning and it blocks virtually all of the morning sun through our south facing bedroom window.
Overall better than expected after reading the reviews and we would gladly buy another set for downstairs when we decide to decorate.
This first set of curtains was very much an experiment – but I am so happy with them I have ordered another set!
The material is surprisingly thin and light-weight – but they are exceptionally good for both insulation and black-out – I’m guessing that they are made out of some special new-fangled-material as opposed to just bog-standard polyester.
So far they seem just as good (if not slightly better) than the thick IKEA curtains they have replaced.
Hope that all makes sense (types London’s most un-domesticated man).
I bought these curtains for their thermal feature not for blackout (I bought the silver colour) however to start to with the blackout feature is great I had to have my camera on flash to get a picture as it’s pitch black in my room and it’s currently 7am. There’s no light streaming through only shadows of light on the ceiling above the eyelets. Furthermore the temperature increase in our always freezing cold bedroom is astronomical! I slept so well and didn’t wake up cold once . There were few selections for colour based on the size I needed however I don’t think the colour is bad. The material is extremely soft to the touch and the curtain itself nice and light . I cannot comment on washing ease as I haven’t washed them yet . The delivery was of course 24hr prime delivery. The whole purchase so worth it and the company selling it brilliant … I will be back for more.. fabulous and especially for the price in reference to the quality you’ll receive . Thank you very much I couldn’t of ordered a better curtain !!!
Very lovely colour, material is soft. They are well made and hang nicely. They weren’t creased and packaged nicely. The ties are a nice touch and velgro together at the back. I have another set arriving for another set. Stitching is all in order, and neat. I would certainly order again as they look lovely:-)
My bedroom faces the full glare of the sun so I was after something to keep it cool and dark over summer, and while these curtains don’t offer the full day-into-night transformation I’d been hoping for, they are noticeably better than my previous thermal curtains. I’ve included two pictures, one of my old curtains (left) and these new ones (right). You can see neither fully stops the sunlight, but the Deconovo does offer a bit more protection. Overall, I’m satisfied if not delighted with them.
They keep the cold from coming through the window and also the light. I alternated the panels with sheer silver panels which dresses them up a bit. They don’t look cheap and nasty like some thermal curtains. I also bought a smaller single panel to use as a door curtain and it is perfect.
Strongly recommend.. definitely blackout.. now my baby stays longer in bed in the morning.. just perfec
Wow. Only took 1 day to arrive. Put these in my son’s room and work a real treat. Weekends he would be up at crack of dawn because of the light coming in his room now I’m getting a really good lay in because he still thinks it’s the middle of the night!!!!!! Happy days!! Highly recommend for those who looooove their sleep!!!
